About last night: celebrated my baby's birthday! #GrandLuxeCafe soft opening was amazing; can't wait for the grand opening to be able to grub there again! The Kid was excited to have his TiTi Kemba as an extra surprise, too! And he loved that his smoothie looked like a #grownupdrank, 😅! Next, he finally got to get his #Pikachu stuffed! And finally, got his other ear pierced, and despite being a lil scared leading up to it, he was a soldier about it (unlike the 1st time! 😂). Nothing I love more than my baby happy, cuz he deserves it! There really aren't words to adequately articulate the mixture of emotions, because shock, sadness, condolences to the family that survived this tragedy... just all seem so empty and lacking in the weight felt. As we all process the many levels of this tragic event, and as we do so in our own way, may we be reminded of the fact that nothing in this life is a guarentee of the next moment, day, week, month, year, etc. So many of us will say this today, and all the way through the celebrity- filled funeral; the difference needs to be in more of us beginning to live our lives remembering it. Not necessarily "yolo", rather genuinely appreciating the people we care about, the moments that stir our souls, and doing the things that are building the bridges to our dreams' manifestations.
