The Ginger Serpent

A/N: Archie's a serpent in this one shot.

They were watching Rebel Without a Cause at the Twilight Drive-In. It was the Drive-In’s closing night and almost everyone in town showed up as Y/N, his sister, and Kevin were sitting in the back of Kevin’s truck bed. Blankets all around and some to cover them as they watched, with Cheryl inviting herself in their little group as they watched James Dean on screen.

“That hair.” Kevin smiles.

“That jacket.” Y/N said in between bites of popcorn.

“Jason always adored the Drive-In.” Cheryl said. Kevin looks at Veronica and rolls his eyes. Behind them, the Southside Serpents were laughing and making a ruckus as Kevin snickers as he elbowed Y/N to get his attention to look at them. “Southside trash.”

“They’ve been doing that since the opening credits.” Veronica said.

Kevin turned his head towards them. “Shh!” They all shush hun back and throw cans at him that never reach. They’re still rowdy as Kevin looks at Y/N in defeat. They wouldn’t be quiet. Y/N’s had enough as he stands up and looks at the Serpents, locking eyes with a very good-looking ginger guy. “Hey! You know what happens to a snake when a heavy black boot steps on it? Shut the hell up, or you’ll find out the hard way.”

All around the Drive-In, the people applauded Y/N for finally saying what they were all thinking. Y/N bows like a gentleman. “Thank you.” He sits back down as the ginger eyes him as he smirks. Kevin looks at Y/N in disbelief. “I cannot believe you just threatened a gang-banger.”

“I’ve dealt with worse in the east village. I just hate when people disrespect my cinematic experience. Especially this one. It’s one of my favorites.” Y/N said.

It’s quiet until Veronica shakes the bucket of popcorn. “How about a refill, Hermanito?”

“Yeah, Y/N, how about a refill?” Cheryl smiles sweetly. “Cherry cola, as always.” He rolls his eyes as he gets off the truck bed as everyone scoots over one spot.

Y/N walks up to the concession stand and waits for his turn as he sets the bucket on the counter. “Can I get a refill?” The guy nods his head and takes the bucket as Y/N waits for him to come back. “And some gummy bears and a cherry cola and a regular one. Who am I trying to impress?” The guy gets all the things he’s asked for. “And can you put all this on Cheryl Blossom’s tab?” He nods his head as Y/N scoops up his treats and is about to walk away, when he almost runs into the ginger guy from the Serpents.

“Not so tough now, huh?” He asked Y/N. He’s about 5’11 with red hair and gorgeous brown eyes. He wore blue jeans and a red leather jacket to match his hair. He had a menacing and playful atmosphere around him. Y/N swallowed. “What? Am I supposed to be scared of you or something?”

“You do know what a Southside Serpent is, right?”

“And? You guys are like the watered-down versions of the Outsiders.” Y/N told him. “Now, may I go through, or are we going to have problems?” He tried to push past the taller male boy, but he grabbed his arm. “I have a better idea.” He basically dragged Y/N behind the concession stand towards the fence as he helped Y/N set his stuff down before he glared at Y/N. “You sure gotta smart mouth on ya, don’t ya?” He pushed him against the fence as Y/N looked at him.

“Yeah? And just what are you going to do about it?” Y/N asked him.

The ginger smirked before he leaned down and captured his lips into a kiss as Y/N was shocked as he let the redhead push him against the fence. They were grunting and panting as the taller male slammed Y/N gently against the metal of the fence. Y/N tangled his fingers inside the ginger’s head and messed it up as a small revenge as they broke apart for air. “I should go.”

“Something tells me you don’t want to, do you?” The redhead grins.

“I guess not.” Y/N told him.

“I’m Archie, by the way. Archie Andrews.”

“Y/N Lodge.”

“Lodge? Like Hiram Lodge?” Archie asked.

“Yeah, is that a problem?”

“No. Is this a problem?” He showed him his tattoo of a serpent.

“I won’t tell if you won’t?”

“Deal.”

They kissed again.

“Dymon, get up! You’re going to be late for school!” You knew that staying up till five am reading the newest update for your favorite webcomic wasn’t a good idea but you couldn’t think of anything else to do, trying to avoid the panic that had been bubbling since yesterday’s pep rally. You’d been good at covering your mark. It wasn’t strange for people to cover them or have them uncovered. It was common for the popular kids to show of their marks; Cheryl Blossom always had cute little flower doodles and hearts around it; drawn by herself.

When it had been revealed her mark was the same as Toni Topaz’s notorious Serpent from the southside; no one had shut up about it for weeks. Which means you knew if they found out your symbol, a kiss print and a snake twineing around it, was the same you knew it would take a month for it to die down. If anyone believed you.

You weren’t hated at school; you stood at 4 foot 11 inches; which meant no one saw you as a threat; you introverted and quiet personality however marked you as easy prey; which in high school was basically a recipe for being bullied. The Serpents never bothered you; it was mostly the other bulldogs or northsiders that bullied you; they were never fond of differences and you were blending into the background for the wrong reasons; at least to them. You were always surprised none of them went for the obvious jabs; that you wore oversized clothes to hide something; that you were so quiet cause you weren’t smart enough to speak. That your glasses were because you were trying to be cool and fit in; not that you needed them to see. The bullying wasn’t physical; the most that happened was someone shouldered you in the hallway; it was mostly that you were ignored, occasionally their were mean names tossed around insults but it was a little easy to brush them off; none of the Bulldogs actually knew you.

“Dymon!!!”

“Coming down now!!” You shout before anyone else has the chance to accuse you of being late. You know that just because nothing happened yesterday doesn’t mean something will. You’d been nervous; the big end of season game was coming up; which meant there was going to be a huge pep rally. Which meant that all the bulldogs were going to have larger heads than they normally did; which meant you needed to keep yours down.

You tuck your hands into your sweater; black like the rest of your clothes. You know you’re stretching it out, the sleeves are too short; the curse of a late growth spurt.

You keep your mark hidden; it’s safer; you know everyone would just tease you for it and you’re waiting for someone to remember where they’ve seen it. It doesn’t take long for Chuck to see it; for his eyes to light up in the way you know means he knows exactly who your soulmates are.

Cheryl Blossom is wearing her signature lipstick and death glare. You're surprised it's not directed at you; you were currently on the ground, blocking her path. Chuck had shoved you down, claiming you’d faked your soulmate mark. He’d only seen it because you’d been late and the sweater you had grabbed was too short in the sleeves to cover your hand; where the mark rested on your palm. Bright red, a warning beacon to everyone you’re starting to think.

Toni and Cheryl help you up, glaring at Chuck before they pull you into an empty classroom and shut the door.

“Dymon; you should have said something..”

“You know my name?”

“Yeah you come into the comic shop on the southside all the time.”

“I’ve been meaning to ask where you got your boots.” Cheryl gestures down to the combat boots you always wear; you know she’s nodding to the spikes on them.

“Oh I took a couple of chokers and laced them through.” You shrug a little trying to downplay it but Cheryl looks pleased.

“So you’re not mad?”

“I’m a little annoyed you never said anything sooner. You clearly knew it was us when we got together last year right? You should have said something.”

“I didn’t think you’d want to be with me..”

“You’re our soulmate; there’s no one we’d rather be with. And we can announce it at the pep rally; if you’re okay with it.”

“Really?”

“Yes we want everyone to know you’re ours; that you’re with us; why would we want to hide you; you complete us.”

La matinée était terminée et c'était l'heure du déjeuner. Quand tu sortis de ta classe et que tu vis ton frère t'attendre, tu souris largement cependant, il rétrécit légèrement en le voyant accompagné.

i write JB as Jughead’s twin rather than his younger sister, she never left Riverdale with her mom because her relationship with her mother is practically non-existent (because of her crappy behavior). JB is younger than Jughead by six minutes, attended Southside high until it closed; reluctantly transferred to Riverdale high where she dropped out close to graduation.

she currently runs the Serpents, and her relationship with her brother is practically non-existent since he released his book.

🎃 Sweet Pea/Reader; Werewolf AU

The Serpents were a pack. Everyone knew that. What most people didn’t know is there were smaller sub-packs within that. Jughead was still trying to fight Toni to be the Alpha, but everytime he went to challenge her; he ended up on the ground; still a beta.

While Jughead hated being a Beta you were more than happy to be one. You were dating Sweet Pea who was an Alpha; one of the sub-packs within the Serpents; it wasn’t as big as the sub-pack Toni had; since she was in charge of the older Serpents who weren’t in FP’s main pack.

There had been reports of a hunter from Greendale coming too close into the Serpent’s territory. Normally there were issues with the Northsiders trying to scare or attack pack members but it never went as far as hunting; they knew when to leave the werewolves alone. That or they didn’t know how valuable it would be to certain people to kill a werewolf.

Greendale knew; they had so much supernatural it was overflowing into Riverdale; or at least that was the rumor of how werewolves first came to Riverdale. 

The hunter was out; Toni and Jughead had been fighting again’ you’d been dedicated as messenger between them. They just had to pick the opposite ends of the Southside. Jughead was practically on the Northside at this point which was a whole other issue that Toni never brought up; she knew it would solidify his place as beta of the pack; or worse; his dad kicking him out.

It was easier to stay in your wolf form; it made travel faster; it made it safer Of course Jughead invited you in, Fangs was there so it was technically a meeting so you’re still human when you leave.

You’re still human when the hunter attacks. You shift fast; but not fast enough before you can feel the burning of a silver knife. It catches your shoulder and you realize this isn’t a hunter; well not a full fledged one. An apprentice making his first kill to become an official hunter; he was going to kill you, you realize.

You dodge the next knife strike; but can hear the snap when a trap closes over your ankle; it’s not broken; just sprained. But the trap is doing its job; keeping you stuck in the place. You’re confused; normally the hunters just kill werewolves. He’s unloading something. A cage, your stomach sinks; you wonder if he’s been told to bring you in alive; to kill you on Greendale's land so they can see; so he has proof he did it himself.

The cage snaps into place; and so do Sweet Pea’s teeth around the hunters leg. He screams; and Sweet Pea shoves him to the ground, growling and dragging his claws down the hunters front. You know Sweet Pea will make this hurt. You do your best to look away when the hunter starts screaming.

You can feel the cage lifting and you grimace as you can feel Sweet Pea’s hands prying into the trap. It doesn’t budge.

“We’ll have to go to the rest of the pack or Curdle for that to be removed; can you walk at all?” You’re not sure why he asks; but you find you can put weight on your ankle; just that the trap is too heavy for you to lift it.

“It’s fine I can carry you no problem.” He laughs when you squeak as he picks you up; you clearly weigh nothing to him even with the trap.

Sweet Pea doesn’t say much while carrying you, he doesn't say much when he brings you to Dr. Curdle to remove the trap from your ankle.

It’s only when it’s off and you’re back in the trailer does he wrap his arms around you, and mostly through sobs just repeats.

“I love you.” Over and over until you’re pretty sure he’s not even saying the words anymore and you’re also not sure if you’re dreaming he’s saying it or he actually is because you wake up in the middle of the night his arms wrapped around you.
