WATCH OUT FOR THIS!
The antithesis of JESUS washing feet.
I don't know when one is under controlling, and
manipulative spiritual abusive leadership, this
person is seeking to control you.
This person is taking away your own autonomy
in the LORD, this person is looking at you as
someone that can help them do their work.
If you are a tool to them, as opposed to either a
co-worker/colleague/friend/congregant when
they are there to serve.
And in terms of what kind of effects this kind of
leadership has on the people, well it's now fear-
based — that you are always looking over your
shoulder for what you've done wrong.
It takes away joy.
It takes away a sense of creativity & faith because
you're under someone else's thumb. Manipulative
leadership may not be that openly manipulative.
It may not be that clear in terms of being wrong—
but ultimately its spirit has that same effect your
vision becomes subdued or quenched.
your ability to really question & think clearly it's
taken away because you don't want to be a rebel
you don't want to cross that line
you walk in this fear-based mentality
Rather than your big ambition
being to please GOD & to bring
joy to the LORD & honor to HIM...
your big ambition is not to get
your leader #upset — or to get
condemned/demoted/ousted
“Here’s what I don’t understand, Neuvillette,” Wriothesley says, dropping the Chief Justice’s title completely. “If you wanted this, why not ask me yourself?”
Humming again, Neuvillette looks at Wriothesley with a stern but curious expression. “I must admit, that thought process had not occurred to me.”
“It hadn’t occurred to you,” Wriothesley echoes dryly, his sharp tone nearly turning the phrase into a question.
“My apologies, but no, it had not.”
This truth of it is even more infuriating to Wriothesley than if Neuvillette had purposefully avoided telling him directly. It truly hadn’t occurred to Neuvillette. Of course it hadn’t.
The Chief Justice of Fontaine — the Hydro Dragon Soveriegn — has no reason to consider petty human emotions.
“You have a lot to learn about human behaviour if we are going to be married, Monsieur,” Wriothesley spits out, trying to bite back his obvious irritation.
Neuvillette tilts his head to the side and hums in response and Wriothesley wonders how the Hydro Dragon Sovereign can have such a natural human reaction to things. He must have picked it up from somewhere.
“You are considering it, but you are angry,” Neuvillette says.

the venerated, the venerable, venari, the chosen heirs, the offspring of the great god-emperor; a phenomenon that started hundreds of years ago at the end of the shattering, when the god's reshaped the world, they decreed that no longer would the worthy be defined by blood alone, but by something far greater. a touch of divinity, these individuals one day awaken with their eyes ringed in a gleaming argent, the blood they shed turning from scarlet to shimmering silver. when one emperor falls, another must take their place, casting off their old life to rise above. man, woman, old, young, sick, healthy, rich, poor, it did not matter to the divine; called to the center of the continent of tyr, to the capital of the empire of mystra, they are beckoned to take their place on the throne.
only one can ascend from man to demi-god, only one can rule them all.
these individuals every few hundred years are called to cast their lot in and vye to be the next soveriegn of tyr, emperor of mystra, god's chosen on earth, messenger of the heavens, and ruler of the world. each time it has been different, in previous generations only one or two may have become venerated, other times there were nearly a hundred blessed with the argent gleaming in their gaze. some were taken gladly as heir by the current emperor in a smooth and peaceful transition of power, others were forced to fight to the death, or compete in a tournament of cunning and might.
no one knows how or why it happens, why some are chosen where other's are not, nor does anyone know how the god's determine when it is time to crown a new emperor. the will of the heavens is not a thing a lowly human can ever possibly hope to decipher.
vega said they soveriegns wanted to shape humans into something more demonic and accidentally made vampires so does that mean demons (specifically concubi) canonically have sharp teeth
