The real socialism, created not by theoreticians and stupid populists, but by communists, looked like this - empty shops and poor residents, while "leaders" enjoyed the benefits created by "capitalists" in special stores: The uniqueness of this photo is that it shows not only a "happy" Russian past, but also their "bright" future towards empty shops and mass poverty... Soviet Union, after WWII (sometime after WWII, a Russian store could look so empty both in the 1950s and just as well in the 1980s)

Putin is no time lord, he can't turn back the clock no matter how much he wishes to be Stalin. The Soviet Union is DEAD DEAD DEAD and nobody can bring it back.

Nobody has done more in this century to strengthen NATO, make former parts of the USSR more distrustful of Russia, and damage the Russian economy than Vladimir Putin. The invasion of Ukraine was an overreach of Shakespearean magnitude.

Putin is Russia's self-inflicted catastrophe of the 21st century. And it may take much of the rest of this century to sort out the mess he's created.

I’m Really Hoping that China Capitulates

Because if they do, there may be a repeat of the collapse of the Soviet Union. What happened is that when Gorbachev capitulated to protestors and calls to reform in the hopes that decenters would go away, instead protests and calls for reform escalated while the Soviet Union’s failures were laid bare before the world (namely with Chernobyl). Eventually that force became so overwhelming that the Soviet Union fell apart as the satellites all liberalized and the Russian part of the government collapsed from infighting.

P.S. The Russian imperialists, with minor cosmetic changes, continue to produce this technically outdated Soviet era van... The only advantage of this car is its cheapness, but as Russian orcs are also cheap, the Russian army does not have to worry about their survival in the event of an accident or shooting...

This van was already hopelessly antique even before the collapse of the Soviet Union in the late 1980s. Putin's regime is really funny when they send their orcs with this pile of scrap metal to conquer Ukraine...However, It should be added here that there are still fools-Russophiles who believe in Russian propaganda and military might, and they took care of observing the "interests" of the Kremlin...
