I work in a hands-on skills-based job, and I have coworkers who will say things like “wow you know how to do so many things!! And you’re so young!! You’re so talented!!”
and I’m just like “guys I didn’t go to school for my first 18 years of life. I’ve been working blue collar jobs since I was 11. Yeah I know how to use power tools and sew and back up a trailer but I was taught that Jesus appeared to George Washington to tell him to lead the American Revolution and that dinosaurs are from pieces of other planets god used to build the earth so…maybe it’s not a good thing?”

Occasionally I'll see a passionate Buffy text post that seems to be entirely about a secret version of the show only people on Tumblr watched and the subject of those posts is invariably: Spikepost, Joyce Is A Bad Mom, Joyce Is The Best Mom, Jenny's Basically A Mom, Gilespost, or Willow and Xander Are Bad Friends. And it makes me want to gather everyone in a room to rewatch the series together. We can take notes. We can have discussion groups. Please
