What other sea creatures might be pets besides sea slugs?

I like to think shrimps and lobsters, we know both of those exist in wild animal form and apparently Inkblot Art Academy has street lobsters/shrimp/you know what i means. So those. Theoretically you could probably keep a Super Sea Snail too. Now we know that there's wild fish in the Splatoon world for REAL, and have white sharks and moray eels added to that group... you probably shouldn't try to adopt either of those from the wild and also that is HORRIFYING, but. I think it's safe to say you can have other sharks and eels as well and that's JUST two things. Eels and stuff like sea kraits would be a good fit to replace snakes, and Marie has the pet scallop in a cage, which could be a canary replacement (ignoring that those probably still exist and also you shouldn't keep any bird in a cage that small). You can keep a baby Salmonid if you're a fucking freak (Neo Agent 3) but don't because that's literally a person lol.

If we're being real here there's really no huge limits because with so many species having evolved to be sapient, there's no doubt branched evolutions where a lot of those species also have close relatives that are either still aquatic or just animals that aren't sapient (we know sharks, urchins and scallops are in this category at least). So personally I would go nuts with pet creatures, basically almost every land animal except bugs and birds is gone. What would replace them and which ones would be viable to keep as pets? I would put bets on small shark species like some reef sharks to be perfect cat or dog replacements, whereas something like a great white... ABSOLUTELY THE HELL NOT. (Master Mega).

Overall it's kind of the wild west because like, the same animals could be sapient or non sapient with like the same design principle. Super Sea Snails are probably (I HOPE SO) animals, but Nails is a snail with the exact same body plan and he's sapient. Lobsters and virtually unchanged fish can be wild animals, OR they can be sapient (Moe). you get the picture.

Anyways some brainrot

-They’ve always been very competitive with each other ever since they met, when they were younger they could be deemed as full-on rivals even lol. The “I can do anything better than you!” Spark has died down since, especially since Anri can be sensitive about how their combat skills have been effected by losing an eye, but they’ll still have friendly competitions over small things.

-Marie’s singing habit effects Anri, sorta like how when one wolf starts howling the whole pack makes noise. When Marie starts singing Anri sorta just instinctively joins in lol

-Some background for Anri and Marie, when he first came back from the events of OE he was pretty traumatized since 1. Lost for a year in the metro 2. Lost his apartment 3. Lost all his possessions and pet birds 4. Lost all function in his right eye+nerve damage ….so he uh literally didn’t go outside for another year. After moving into a new place (Craig brought him a new apartment and furniture out of guilt) Anri became a total shut in, but Marie would come by every day to drop off food goodies in attempt to talk to him. There’s a whole doc behind their story that I probably shouldn’t info dump the entirety of here but lel

-Anri is Marie’s very first romantic interest! Marie assumed she was ace since she was always never interested in dating, turns out she’s demisexual with bisexual swag!

-Anri’s favorite song from the Squid Sisters is Marie’s solo, Tide Goes Out! Marie herself doesn’t know this

Based on these details I've concluded the plot of this game is: Monarchic society sends kids out into space to go on cool adventures. They have designated Responsible Adults who help them with their space adventures. Maybe some evil science guy is trying to stop them? Or maybe he has a secret base in space that he doesn't want them to find.

With Mask's social anxiety, they don't do many public dates. So, their go to "date" is doing something cute together on minecraft, making their sims date, or mask kicking aloha's ass in smash bros or mario kart

Since the S4 live together (also with avi due to him and skull) there is no room for kids. But they do all have a pet cat named Sky who has 5 kittens, each has adopted one of the gang as their person. Eros has Aloha, Poe has Mask. Just for fun, Mittens has Army, Freyja has Skull, and Muffin has Avi.

-What tradition do they have with each other?

Anyone willing to help make a challenge?

So for a while I’ve been working on a multi-gen challenge based on Nintendo games. I think I’ve got most of the generations down but some are still giving me trouble.

Some don’t have a full set of rules, some don’t have an aspiration or enough traits to theme the generation.

I’ll share what I’ve got under the read more and if anyone has suggestions that would great!

Generation Animal Crossing:

Traits: Loves Outdoors/Outgoing/Cheerful

Aspiration: Curator

You have moved into a new town with nothing but the clothes on your back. Well at least Mr. Nook was nice enough to give you a new home even with the work you'll have to do to pay him off. But how hard can that be?

Move into an empty lot and build a small house.

Have the Curator Aspiration

Neither the founder nor spouse will hold a job, they will make money via at home activities like painting, fishing, etc.

Have a room to display collections

At the end of every sim week, use cheats or mods to remove half of your household funds (to pay off your debt to Mr. Nook) until your sim reaches the adult stage.

So here’s what I’ve got so far for my Nintendo themed Sims 4 Challenge. Like I said I’m kind of blanking on certain generations so if anyone’s got suggestions, I’m all ears.

I’m also willing to take suggestions to change or replace some of the goals I’ve already written down. I haven’t made a sims challenge since the days of Sims 2 so I’ll take any help.

Biography: Five years after her fateful duel with the Dark Lord, Darth Edris, Fluttershy would give birth to Firefly and swear to protect him by any means necessary. Okay they do sleep yes they do. Actually that’s a lie only Ciel sleeps, the other two are insomniacs. Ciel has all of her day to day life planned out to the minute, so she heads to bed at a certain time and wakes up at a certain time, the other two are more of a “we’ll sleep when we’re tired” kinda duo. Unfortunately due to Ilia’s night terrors and Neon’s ADHD they almost never rest. No they do not sleep in a SANE bed, ha why would they have a bed? They sleep in a hammock all tangled up with each other. It’s hard to tell what order they sleep in when they kinda curl into each other. They do not use a duvet, why have a duvet when Neon is a space heater? There are no pillows on the hammock X). OKAY THEIR ROOM, THIS I GOT, it’s a funky mess that is somehow organized thanks to Ciel. Ilia doesn’t own a lot in general but it was her life’s dream to paint her bedroom rainbow so guess what they have now. The other two are too soft and they supported her efforts and they love her despite her poor design sense XD.

I- why closet ASDFG I mean— No they do not share a closet they all have completely different fashion sense and if that was all in one place people would be genuinely terrified. But since they’re broke they had to make do with one walk in closet that they partitioned off into sections. YES THEY DO HAVE MATCHING OUTFITS THEY ARE SO CUTE LIKE THAT. They tend to be like those cute couple outfits with a few variations to match their own personal style. But their favorite matching outfit are these duck hoodies they own courtesy of once again Ilia living out her childhood dreams. No they don’t own many outfits because like I mentioned earlier they are broke x). Hmm thinking about each other’s styles… Ilia think both of her girlfriends have great taste, she loves the well, neon of Neon, and the prim and properness of Ciel. Neon just doesn’t care XD. And Ciel is just, she’s just standing there wishing she could help their fashion sense, but she holds back because “It does suit them in an odd way.” Ciel gets the most compliments on her style hands down, she looks organized and you can bet she saves money to buy outfits that actually accentuate her cuteness. They don’t wear makeup no time for that (in which you learn Z has little to no knowledge in how to apply makeup and doesn’t know how to answer that question)

OH OKAY I LOVE VIDDY GAMES. Ciel likes real-time strategy games because she’s insane and that’s literally all she knows in life thanks to being raised in an upper class family in Atlas. Neon likes open world games, something something she likes the chance for adventure and determining one’s fate for themself. Ilia has never once played a video game until after she defected from the White Fang but I can see her playing something light like Stardew Valley, low stakes kinda games. Hmm, they might play Animal Crossing together? Since it has aspects they all enjoy. They each have an individual switch (Ilia has a coral switch lite) and one shared PC. Okay game with most hours, maybe Minecraft? They still haven’t beat the enderdragon because Neon keeps getting distracted XD. Neon is the bomb at party games though, you can bet she has a perfect score on all the songs in Just Dance. Ciel is a sharpshooter, god knows who taught her how to shoot like that. The biggest splatoon fan is unfortunately not Neon it is Ilia, she loves all the colors in the game ^^. But she and Neon have wracked up quite a few hours in co-op.

Uhhh books!! Ilia likes fanfics :) it’s unfortunately one of the only ways for her to see positive representation of herself. Neon for some reason reads Epics?? Like her favorite is the Epic of Gilgamesh what is up with that?? Ciel reads webtoons :), she reads enough serious stuff for school work and such, she likes to just kick back and relax after all that. Yes they have schedules reading time courtesy of Ciel :). Uhh, they relax by baking together. None of them had many chances to indulge in sweets while growing up so they make full use of their time now. ?? SPOON?? Cuddle hours happen on a whim, the one thing that Ciel can never schedule because she never knows when it’ll occur. They relax the most in the kitchen x) because that’s where they bake, it’s not unusual to find Neon asleep on the counter while she waits for their sweets to rise. They read in the light, Neon is afraid that by reading in the dark that they’ll all ruin their eyesight. Ciel likes the sunrise because she’s up the earliest and is the only one to see it, the other two prefer sunset because that’s usually when their day is about to begin XD.

Favorite spot for dates! The park ^^, they like to go on picnic dates with all their baked goods. There is no plan, usually one of them will randomly pull the other two out of the house because they haven’t touched grass in a while XD. There are no ideas, they share one braincell and they spend too much time doting on each other to use it. Uhm favorite movie genre,,, they like comedy movies :). Their favorite place to eat is this tiny store on the corner of their street that makes mean gyros, they heccin’ love them. Coping with horror, Ilia is desensitized to horror because of the things she’s seen in life, Neon treats it like a game because she knows it’s not real, Ciel, is okay with it, but she gets shook more easily than the other two and they often have to reassure her. No they do not like theme parks, there are too many people around for Ilia and Ciel and Neon respects their boundaries so they tend to go to more quiet places. Uhm heights, Ciel is used to heights because she’s friends with Penny and woah can that girl toss her in the air like she’s a couple of grapes. Ilia doesn’t mind heights but she would prefer to have her feet on the ground. Neon loves the ground so damn much if it leaves her she will cry because man she can’t roller-skate in the air can she, what will she do if the ground is suddenly gone? They like evening dates because it’s normally the only time all three of them are awake enough for it XD. They end a night by sleeping I am not quite sure if there are other ways to end it lmao. They absolutely despise Neon’s roller skating dates but they love how excited she gets about them so they end up becoming as good as professional roller skaters because the smile on Neon’s face when they join her is dazzling.

I am slowly going insane. Yes each girl has a hobby I sure hope they do. Ilia knits, Ciel paints, and Neon writes. I would like to imagine that Ciel would try to schedule time for their hobbies she ends up giving up because all their sleep schedules are wack. Designated chef is Neon (probably made food for FNKI back in atlas), designated driver is Ilia (I mean I like to imagine she stole cars and stuff in the White Fang XD), designated decorator for stuff is normally Ciel though Neon does try to hijack a few of her plans occasionally, designated shopper is Ciel because the other two have no concept of Saving money, and they all work together to clean :). They don’t work together, they believe in keeping their work life and home life separate to prevent their feelings from getting in the way. They do not have pets, none of them have the energy or responsibility to do that, but Ilia did once bring a moose home one day for some reason.

I am nomming on your arm sir. Ilia and Neon get along with Penny surprisingly well, though I do think Ilia would get along with Weiss better? Ruby and Weiss look at Ciel and see a beacon arc Weiss and more or less adopt her despite Ciel being older than the two of them. They might like.. play board games together? Like some of those more team based board games I can’t think of anything off the top of my head, may the best polycule win. I cannot see them in a cuddle puddle to be honest ajcnjsanjs I am so sorry— hmm Ruby and Neon do not know the meaning of formal, as far as they are concerned these are their girlfriend’s friends and that means that by extension these are their friends. Weiss would like nothing to do with Neon after Neon insults Yang during the Vytal festival but she begrudgingly goes on outings with her and hey, now they’re make up buddies for some reason. The parhelion gals take the fs gals to the gyro place they like :). Parhelion gang Is a lot more vocal on their dates because their love language happens to be words of affirmation while the fs gang’s happen to be physical touch. Both polycules are very very affectionate though I will die on this hill.

BUDDY I CAME TO THE LAST ASK AND NOW ONLY DID I REALIZE YOU MEANT PARHELION BACK WHEN THEY WHERE IN BEACON THIS WHOLE TIME I’M CRYING. (This ask is answered under the assumption that they are already dating back in Atlas Academy) Ciel is fiercely protective of her girlfriends, though people only know that Neon is a Faunus because Ilia masks her traits during her time at the academy. Neon and Ciel are horrified about the news about the dust mines. They know that Ilia is a Faunus and that her parents were working there so they rush to see her as soon as possible. But they’re too late,,, Ilia’s already been expelled for attacking her fellow students. They don’t hear from Ilia for a few years after that and the two slowly drift apart, each blaming the other for not getting to Ilia soon enough. They don’t find out about the White Fang until they reunite with Ilia unfortunately, but they feel sad that Ilia had felt that they only way for her to get revenge for her parents was by joining a militant group (I’m working under the assumption that Sienna only took control of the White Fang shortly before Ilia joined). When Neon learns that Penny didn’t make it after the Fall of Beacon she hesitantly reaches out to Ciel for the first time in a year, and she does try to help. But for Ciel it’s blow after heccin’ blow and she pushes Neon away in a rage. Ciel leaves the Academy after that and goes rogue, working as a huntsman without a license for the poorer parts of remnant. Ilia is unaware of all this drama during the Beacon arc. The next time she hears of any news is during the Fall of Atlas, and she’s scared, scared because she’s still recovering and she just heard Ruby announce to the world that Remnant is under attack, and oh my gosh her ex girlfriends live in Atlas. Neon makes it out alive, though not entirely in one piece, she now has a prosthetic leg. Ilia is the first person to see her, it’s a tearful reunion and they haven’t fully made up yet, but hey it’s a work in progress, now they just have to find out where Ciel is, but when they do they’ll BOTH be there to greet her. Blake has no idea who the fuck Ciel and Neon are lmao, Ilia never told her anything about her past romances when she was in the White Fang.

buckle up it's time for me rambling about splat2n stuff (mostly oe) and a bit of something else as well though it won't be getting stated directly.

this has a whole lotta headcanons, and a lot of it is put down in a jumble bc I have adhd and am completely incapable of putting things down in a way that makes sense to everyone else and not just to me. aNYWAYS

I've seen a couple posts from a while ago about how the japanese and the english versions of tartar's dialogue imply different things? something about how like... in the japanese version he actually comes across as having legitimate reasons for wanting to destroy the world and start anew, something something I don't feel like finding the post tbh and it's actually been a bit since I've read it myself so I'm probably not 100% correct on it.

anyways if you've known me for long enough or have been following this blog for a while you'll know that I am OBSESSED with this bastard telephone. to the point that I have about 15 different versions of him and apparently am not showing any signs of stopping.

so, to recap very quickly:

Commander Tartar is an AI created by a human scientist referred to only as "the professor" 12,000 years before the events of Splatoon 2. Its purpose was to pass down all of humanity's knowledge to the next capable species. The professor's intention to do so was to prevent the next intelligent species from repeating the same mistakes that lead humanity to extinction. However, due to spending all those millennia isolated and alone, the AI's thought process ended up going in a different direction.

Commander Tartar initially saw hope in the Inklings and Octarians, but eventually became repulsed by their evolution, needless wars, and fashion obsession, ultimately concluding that they were unfit for its knowledge and reprogramming itself to create a new form of life that would be worthy of its patronage, while annihilating the existing lifeforms on Earth.

honestly? I don't think tartar hated cephalokind.

think about it for a sec. this is a sentient AI that was created by a professor that didn't want the next lifeforms to become extinct just like humans did. assuming that the professor treated tartar exactly like a fellow human, he went on to spend the next 10,000 years alone. and he had so much time to think.

humans became extinct because of the rising water levels. what caused that? for the sake of sticking with the whole water thing we'll say global warming. what caused global warming? many things, one of the most notable being the burning of fossil fuels in the industry. why does that happen? one could amount it to the industrial revolution. and the industrial revolution also contributed to wars.

an AI that was created to pass on humanity's knowledge would probably also be able to access all these things- and more- whenever it wanted, and 10,000 years is a long time. tartar probably read over so many things so many times and eventually reached his own conclusions about what the best things to tell the next lifeforms NOT to do would be.

and then the mollusc era started. tartar, from wherever he was, was able to watch the mollusc era from the moment it began, was able to watch cephalokind grow and develop at a rate that was equal to how humans developed, was able to have hope for the first time in years.

that hope was gone once the Great Turf War started.

things had been going so well; despite the water levels rising some, cephalokind was flourishing. everyone got along (more or less. someday I might get into salmonid stuff more but that day isn't today) and technology was advancing in ways humanity wasn't able to achieve. and then it hit the point that there was a shortage of land, and war broke out.

tartar spend 12,000 years waiting; 10,000 were spent in complete isolation, 1,900 were spent watching cephalokind grow, and for this I'm going to say that the last 100 years were spent doing all that stuff that happens in the octo expansion (and by this I mean creating the metro, having all those test subjects, agent 8, right up until destruction). honestly if we take the date the og splatoon came out (may 28th, 2015) we can argue that the great turf war is meant to parallel our WWI, especially if the calendar was recreated during the mollusc era because then the dates are... actually eerily similar:

if we take may 28th, 2015 and take away 100 years that gives us may 28th, 1915

WWI started july 28th, 1914, and ended november 11th, 1918

may 28th, 1915 literally lands in the middle of our WWI

I mean COME ON. that's uncanny.

back to my main point: the industrial revolution contributed to wars and also to the burning of fossil fuels, which contributed to global warming, which contributed to rising water levels.

tartar is watching all this happen just like it did to humanity (except slightly out of order), and to make things worse, not only are inklings more concerned with fashion, once the great turf war is over inklings start playing turf war for fun. one could also say that the splatfests are actually worse than turf war, because it forces inklings to pick a side and then fight for it- everyone wins something if they participate, but the losing team also has to accept that the winning team's side is better according to... whatever splatfest law it is.

assuming tartar loved humanity, he also grew to love cephalokind for the same reasons (something like how a mother will get attached to the baby growing inside her even if that child is going to get adopted for some reason or other). and he didn't want to see another species go extinct just like humans did. so what does he do? he decides to destroy the world, and start over by finding capable cephalopods and unifying them (the primordial ooze from which the ultimate lifeform will emerge. I think that's how the line went, anyway.) so that it won't have to happen like that

everyone can just... not have to worry about failing to live a long life. everyone can be happy, and have their place in the world, and love one another.

if you think about it all at once? it seems sort of extreme. but also: we're human. if we have a friend going down the wrong path/in trouble or a family member or pet or- I don't know, some material object- we tend to go to extremes to help sometimes. and if you're raised by a human, even if you're different, you might do the same thing

Mal’s are very good at motivating people to be a little more active, and have a massive compatibility, where they get along with all bitties and animals with no exceptions. They’re low maintenance, and can do well on their own if you decide to leave a Mal at home when you go to school.

Bambi

Bambi’s love all sorts of soft things, so would love to snuggle up with the cats and the dog. They are easygoing by nature, and tend to get along with most bitties. They would join you playing video games if they are allowed, as well as any lazy days you may take. Bambi’s are great at being social, bringing people out of their comfort zone without making anyone uneasy. They adore wordplay and puns too!

Ember

Though this bitty is a little anxious around new people, they can adjust quickly, and love their families with their whole soul. They are very genuine and soft bitties, who get along with everyone. They enjoy music, and napping, being lazy is something they enjoy a lot, especially when they can convince others to join their chaotic sleeping patterns. Ember’s are the type of bitty that would try anything at least once, and enjoy all kinds of wordplay. They are pretty independent and capable, but need to know that they are supported and loved. So I’ve gone back and fourth with this question so many times. On one hand, I think the idea of soulmates is fantastic. Having one person that you are meant to be with, connected by fate, is a beautiful thing (and makes for really a really good fan fiction trope). But I’d have to say I no, I don’t believe in soulmates. I like to believe that fate is up to you to make, and that includes who you love. But I love the idea!

🍯-describe your favorite smell

My favorite smell...that’s something I haven’t thought about in a while. I’d say the smell during and after a thunderstorm in the summer. I love the rain so much and I love dancing in it when it pours. Tied with that would be the smell of firewood when it’s burns, which is kinda ironic. I think it reminds me of when my parents and I would go camping up in the Catskills for a weekend in July. I miss that.

And then there’s Sam who used to be really stuck up and prideful but he’s working on it and that makes me so proud. He always helps me with piano stuff and you can usually catch ya crying over some broadway show. And then there’s Charlie. Shit man I fricken love that guy. I can't pick a favorite- I love them all too much 👀 so imma talk about all my pets!!

My birb, Chip, he's kind of a jerk but he's nice. He hates to be alone, so he starts to yell a lot when you leave the room, and he starts to dance when you come back. He's clingy but super adorable. He loves music boxes.

My cat Skyla is specifically my cat. I got her for my birthday in 2nd grade. She follows me everywhere. Whenever I get up in the morning, she sits by the sink and comes and eats breakfast with me when im done. She likes to bother me when im doing homework, like biting my pencils or laying on my laptop.

Munkee is more of my mom's cat, and they think they're tough. They will only show emotion when no one else is around to see. When i go in my room to do math homework, they show up and lay down on my lap. If someone else comes into the room, they leave. It's kinda weird but it makes you feel special. Munkee doesn't have a gender. When we adopted them, their bloodwork came back 1 test as female and 1 as male, the 3rd test being inconclusive. They couldnt be spayed or neutered sooo no one knows what the fuck they are but we love em.

Grizzly is super sweet and hes very talkative. He's the oldest cat but he looks like hes the youngest cuz hes so Smol™ and soft. He screams at you when you stop petting him and he wants more. If you pet him too much he gets overstimulated and just falls over tho. He's super sweet and he loves everyone's attention.

My favorite animal would be the cat. I grew up with cats and ive lived with at least 2 my entire life. My next pet I want is a parrot though. They're cool and i really like birds.

Outside of tumblr I mostly play splatoon for fun. Schoolwork usually overtakes my day, but splatoon relaxes me and i get to have fun with friends. If any of yall wanna join, lmk 👀 I also have a discord where we call during games sometimes.

I used to play ukulele and guitar but I dont really have the time for it now, which is sad. I want to start that up again, but I'll probably only have time for it in my senior year rip.
