UH wtf there’s people actually posting about spliced on here now?? when I was obsessed with this show the tag was so barren 😭😭 anyway hi spliced enjoyers here is some old art from 2021 of Peri and my oc that I had a whole lore developed for (plus some screenshots of said lore asdfghsh)
I hope you guys like my artwork, because I posted on deviantART, I used to be a teletoon fan, but too bad this show was canceled they only have 26 episodes because the creators are just lazy, episodes are good and they're okay, the only episodes I don't liked is stomach on strike, bite shuffle and moan and Mr. Wrinkles in time because the episodes they're really gross and awfully.
Spliced! Was one of the reason why I love slapstick comedy mutants, it's totally one of the reason why I watched teletoon more than ytv was back on the air.
Designs for adult versions of the clone cadets in bad batch as Rebellion leaders
The first weird thing I noticed was that they kept specifying that tbb are "defective CTs", whereas iirc most other clones leave out the "ct" part. additionally, "special training" must have been a reasonably expected occurrence for them, since it was used as the Hemlock-jungle-lab excuse. they're also, oddly enough, the only three survivors from a base full of both cadets and adult clones. and finally, all three of them have noticeably different face shapes.
so my guess for their origins is that they're the results of the kaminoans trying to replicate tbb's mutations in a commando template, making them all specialized CC command cadets. From what we've seen of them, they don't seem to have quite as prominent abilities as say, wrecker or hunter, but are definitely above average to have survived that long.
Anyways the mini-backstory for them here is that they end up joining the rebellion around 5 years later (assuming that they're 6/12 and 8/16 in tbb s3, they would be 11/22 and 13/26 here) as the lead squad for the clone rebel cell after rex, wolffe, and gregor retire (and echo and cody are presumably dead).
Bonus: I originally had Deke's hair as dyed blond, but then he started looking too much like Rex (esp with the jaig eyes and partial arc armor) so I changed it back
edit: sorry i forgot to tag spoilers at first! it has since been fixed
i’m not even that big into cinematography but marble hornets is THE exception for me because it’s genuinely just so impressive at times. because of its structure and how everything is shot in tapes basically all of it is straight, unedited shots. so you have anywhere between like 2 to 10 minutes of a continuous, unbroken take, and that’s SO fucking impressive. because even other works like unfriended who claimed to be “shot in one take” utilized different takes/clips, and used camera glitches to cut everything together, but marble hornets doesn’t. it’s just straight footage that must’ve been reshot dozens if not hundreds of times for all the correct camera framings, line deliveries, prop works, etc, and that’s just so fucking cool to me. indie creators just do it better!!!
“The other thing that was very important to me was finding a way to tell this story so that fans and non-fans alike could understand that were it not for his sister, Spock could not fully actualize himself with Kirk. When they say goodbye, she says, “I want you to find the person who is least like you,” and she’s obviously talking about Kirk. Spock takes that advice, and she’ll never know it.” - Alex Kurtzman
friendly reminder that michael’s last line to spock is about his future with kirk
Hey you, shut your mouth and look at my paw! DON'T FORGET!!
[Incomprehensible sped up gibberish]

Oh! Silly! Oh yes! Lamb chop boy! [Incomprehensible]
[Very quietly, while white noise is playing over it] Goood eevening, aand weeelcome too the shoooowww...
[In the background] Ohhh, mooney!
what fucks me up about the bear dinner scene in s2e6 is the NOISE.
the constant cacophony of arguing and yelling and proclaiming everything's fine and all is good and i love you and merry christmas and its so nice being together and oh how amazing to get together and oh-
the editing is so frantic, its like you're actually in that tiny kitchen, your eyes and ears trying to keep up with the five different conversations going on
10/10, recommend, its been so long since a show made me physically ill like that
more for the garashir fairytale grab bag AU I am never going to actually write: garak knows exactly what would break his curse from the start, he just never tells anyone for the longest time b/c he's so sure it could never happen
(it's asking forgiveness, of course. he thinks it's tain's forgiveness he needs, and tain is fucking dead and knew he would be by the time garak woke up so it seems the perfect unbreakable parting fuck-you revenge curse. and garak would expect nothing less from his father than that, so he's resigned to dwindling away painfully. enter julian bashir and his fierce force-of-nature compassion (and also secret illicit immense magical powers) with a steel chair!!! to go 'OH YEAH??? we'll see about that', as you might expect. oh. OH necromancer-ish julian calling tain's ghost up to ask him about what the hell he did and how to undo it, ala his gambit to go see him the wire? and the knowledge he gains from that is what confirms garak's suspicions as to what is Up with this handsome young healer mage because it could be known only by those long dead. cue east of the sun west of the moon part of the narrative once julian understands his game is up and runs away??
anyway getting some true love's kissing in by the end of it all is just a nice bonus it's not needed like strictly magically for either of their situations lol)
anybody remember the stephanie brown essay I was working on under a research grant fully last summer? yeah it’s not done yet it super needs to be done and I’ve been avoiding working on it for weeks. someone tell me to just do it already
Me through most of Boom: Wow, this is a really solid dramatic episode.
Me when Moffat needlessly sprinkles in anti-faith sentiments without specifying that it’s blind faith in bad things that the Doctor doesn’t like, which makes it come off like the Doctor is just against religion generally:
*IIRC, Callen was only actually married as part of a case, and his "wife" had an alias for said case, which leads me to believe Callen did as well, so not sure listing him as divorced is accurate (unless that's a secret yet to be revealed!)
*spelled wrong on the board, it should be Rountree
you are gonna have to just bear the fuck with me here i know i said it was illegal to post redacted edits but if you’ve been keeping up with the lore you’ll know this one is big. just need everyone to know that the war is fucking over we got the so high school edit… so now we can all watch the stupid edit and stop thinking about it. yes you have to watch it that’s required i said so. you’re gonna sit there and watch 30 seconds of dorian gray and peter parker making eyes at each other and you’re gonna enjoy it goddamn it. honor where you came from ok. peace on earth <3
i got the random urge to add some jaw harp to the sunny theme. only instrument i know how to play. some of the timing is off because i had a lot of issues making this and my joints can only handle so much rn
