We know how traumatic it is for Dean to watch Cas die, and it’s happed five different times, right in front of him. The boy went to hell and had less PTSD than when his Angel dies

But what would it be like for Cas to see Dean die. I literally can’t imagine the distress, and the pure rage he’d direct at whoever was responsible

I’m thinking metatron and ‘well guess what, he’s dead too’. I’m thinking Cas killing Billie to save Dean and Sam. I’m thinking the way he ran to Dean’s side when Donatello hurt him and then commit some slight war crimes even though Dean loves to be choked within an inch of his life

Anyways. What would that do to Cas? Tell me, in detail, I can take it

We definitely do NOT talk enough about the homoerotic side quest Donatello sends Dean and Cas on when he's been brainwashed by Asmodeus. The dialogue between these two ancient warriors is crazy, like-

"I will kill the pretty one"

"They're both equally pretty"

And later (when he has Cas pinned down with a knife to his chest)

"I hate to do this, you are very beautiful "

well that was a little bit of the old spn spark for a second there, with the hallucination/vision/whatever hot!zachariah was giving jack. very sweet and sad. something about the sound design and the dialogue.. of the offscreen voices of sam and dean, it had sort of a... theater feel to it? (watching with headphones and maybe a little bit high so, grain of salt) plus just the very... childlike wish fulfillment of kiddo with absent parents.

DEAN You know what? We made it, though. You, me and the kid. Finally under one roof. SAM And you know what, honestly, it doesn’t matter where he’s been. I’m just glad Jack’s back. DEAN Right, home safe. Where he belongs.

i mean, surely sam and dean have made these kinds of decisions time and time again. especially when the "whatever it takes" is saving each other. but now cas can take the responsibility/blame for doing the ends justify the means thing
