SSO Upgrade: DRESSAGE

1. HORSES: -> Ones you can do dressage with: typically dressage horses, like Friesians, Lippizaners and the Jorvik Warmblood Starter horse. The special dressage moves are only animated on these ones.
2. PLACE: -> Dressage training (the 9 levels) is available at: Silverglade Manor Riding Arena, Pine Hill Riding Arena, Von Blyssen Manor Riding Arena. -> Dressage Championships are held at the Shoreline Equestrian Riding Arena.
3. TESTS: -> Riding real tests inspired dressage routines, 20 moves each. -> Each of the 3 places have slightly different tests, so in total: 3x9 = 27 tests will exist in the game. -> 9 levels: First walk, trot, canter, backup, then new skills unlocked after completing each test. New moves: extended walk/trot, trot/canter half-pass, walk/trot shoulder/haunches in, flying change, piaffe, passage, walk/trot/canter pirouette.
-> Gameplay: A, Map of the move on the side, name and pace of the move, colour coded: Walk, Trot, Canter, Back B, Lines on the ground guiding you as in SSL: Legend of Pandoria and Star Stable Spring Riders C, Lower levers are slower to change to the next move, in higher levels you almost have to memorize the test to anticipate the next. D, You collect stars by riding over them in the correct pace, just like in SSL 3.
-> Dressage dailies: randomly in one of the three Riding Arenas, random routine of the 9 levels, reach a minimum points in a test. The RNG only gives you tests you have already completen in training.
-> Dressage championships: a level 9 routine in Shoreline Equestrian Riding Arena, each player in a phased ring, best score wins. You can only take part in a Dressage Championship, if you have already completed the Grandmaster (level 9) test in each of the 3 Riding Arenas.
4. LEVELS: (names inspired by, but not accurate real levels) 1. Starter -> Moves: Walk, Trot, Canter 2. Beginner -> New move: Backstep 3. Novice -> New move: Extended walk, Extended trot 4. Training -> New move: Walk/Trot Shoulder/Haunches in 5. Intermediate -> New move: Trot half-pass 6. Advanced -> New move: Canter half-pass 7. Expert -> New move: Flying Change, Counter Canter 8. Master -> New move: Walk Pirouette 9. Grandmaster -> New move: Passage and piaffe

does anybody else feel like a lot of sso's features aren't fully implemented lately? for example the championship season pass thing, I think that was so hidden. for no reason. i've had multiple people tell me they didn't even know it existed until somebody told them about it. and that seems like such a big flaw for a timed event and brand new feature?? i also felt very thrown into the deep end with the collections lately. both gm bee's bees and erissa's dolls didn't tell you anything about what you had to do! i loved the stars, i adored the spiders, this would be right up my alley. but all the confusion ruins it for me! why doesnt sso tell us how many things we have to collect? what's the diary even for if they don't add the new collection quests to it? i loved it as a way to keep track of your progress and get hints of the areas of the collectables you're still missing. the way it is right now it just incentivizes looking up guides instead of trying :(

As someone who played through ssl 4 every single day during a summer break I can't explain how much I love the reworked designe of Devil Gap. It's feel so familiar yet so new. The only "problem" I have with it is seem less deathly (?) and a bit small...
But much better than we have in the autumn riders

SSO Upgrade Idea: WEATHER AND SEASONS
To improve the realism of the game and help a lot with immersion.

I. WEATHER -> New weather types: 1. Sunny (sunlight, basically what we have now) 2. Cloudy (shadows of the clouds moving on the ground) 3. Rainy (downpour and muddy roads, hoofprints) 4. Stormy (rain, wind, lightning and thunder) 5. Windy (tree canopies and horse's mane and tail moving) 6. Foggy (shorter distance you can see) 7. Snowfall (heavily snowing and cold) 8. Heatwave (mirages, rippling hot air, strong sunlight) ->Weather types by season:

-> The weather is written for each day separately, according to season. When you log in, you get a newspaper in your mailbox for the day, where you can see the forecast. -> The weather always applies to the season you turned on in each area. If you change it, the forecast in your newspaper will change. -> Dino valley basically gets back the cold effect: it will not be permanent, but only apply when the weather is snowing, which will basically be 80% of the time in Dino.
Effect on your horse: -> The Jorvik Warmblood starter is both Hot and Cold tolerant. -> All of the magic horses are immune to slowing effects. -> Neither the Starter or the Magic horses are immune to additional effects.
Slowing effects -> The two main slowing effects are "Hot" and "Freezing", if you don't use the appropriate horse, they won't do the fastest gallop. -> Winterdale and Summerplains basically don't have the weather effects, only if there is that specific weather happening (snowfall or heatwave). -> Heat tolerant horses are the southern breeds (like the Arabian). -> Cold tolerant horses are the northern breeds (like the Fjord).
2. Additional Effects: -> Heatwave: any horse you ride in heatwave weather for at least an hour will want to drink (loses the watered buff you get at daily care) -> Snowfall: if you ride a horse in snowfall it will become hungry (need to feed it, since it lost the fed buff. -> Rain: spend and hour in rain and you will need to brush your horse again. -> Storm: spend an hour in a storm and you need to pick your horse's hooves again.
II. SEASONS

-> Basic state: --Harvestlands basically looks like early autumn (except Goldenhills) --Winterdale and Dino valley like winter --Spring Valley and Jorcrater as spring --Summerplains as summer. -> The season will not have an effect on your horse (unlike the weather. -> Toggle on Seasons: --In the autumn you can turn on/off autumn environment in Spring Valley and Summervale. --In the winter you can turn on/off winter environment in Harvestlands, Spring Valley and Summervale. --In the spring you can turn on/off spring environment in Harvestlands and Summervale. --In the summer you can turn on/off summer environment in Spring Valley and Harvestlands. -> Winterdale and Dino valley can only be winter environment because magic reasons. -> Jorcrater can only be eternal spring because magic reasons. -> The Lone Star area is always a desert, but spring and winter can be applied. -> You can’t turn the darkness off above Pi’s swamp, Morrinweald and the Old Morass (magic). -> Ashland and Drakon Valley are always just dry with little to no plants.

At last! It is nigh! Includes 3 different saddles in 2 different polycounts (~13 swatches), with 1 saddlepad overlay (~14 swatches) that is universal to them all. Full LODs & maps.

Choosing a Version
First things first; in the download folder there are two different .rar files to choose from. One is labelled Highpoly and the other is labelled Maxispoly. YOU MUST CHOOSE ONE. THEY WILL OVERRIDE EACHOTHER IF YOU INSTALL BOTH HIGHPOLY AND MAXISPOLY TOGETHER.
The Highpoly version of the saddles is the original mesh resolution from Star Stable Online (which is surprisingly high-quality). However, taking into account the 3D pad and whether there are stirrups or not, it pushes the saddle very far out of EA's expected polycount range (the LOD0 on the Highpoly w/ stirrups clocks in at ~6,044 polys) which is why we have labelled this version as Highpoly. We offer it primarily for simmers who plan to be taking screenshots vs actually playing the game for extended periods of time, or for those with stronger PCs.
The Maxispoly version of the saddle is a decimated version of the mesh intended to be more in-line with Maxis polycounts, and therefore be more performance-friendly. It's about 50% less dense in polys than the Highpoly counterpart (LOD0 on the Maxis w/ stirrups clocks in at ~3,021 polys), however it is still higher-poly than the EA saddles, but again this is because it includes additional mesh details like a 3D saddlepad and/or stirrups, just bear that in mind. This version is for simmers who might have weaker PCs or intend to primarily play the game with the saddles.
Once you've chosen between Highpoly and Maxispoly for your saddle, you'll want to grab the saddlepad overlay .package. This saddlepad (it is found in blankets in CAS) acts like an accessory overlay you'd see for Human content, where it will replace the saddlepad texture on your saddle. You can use the saddlepad overlay without the saddle, but it's not exactly designed for that, as it's designed to match the UVs of the 3D saddlepad. It's unlikely it would fit the EA saddle or any other saddles as just as a flat 2D texture.

All the parts included have custom thumbnails, with the EA fit version having a special identifier.
That concludes all the required reading. Please note that the Realistic Fit of the saddles is not going to line up with EA riding animations and may stretch horribly on them, too. This is because it was rigged and weighted specifically for pose makers. It should look fine when posing. If you want a saddle to fit the EA animations, then the EA Fit version is precisely that, and is meant for gameplay exclusively. The saddlepad overlays are cross-compatible between the Realistic Fit and EA Fit saddles, & any custom saddlepads made by other creators, provided they're intended to fit the UVs, will also be cross-compatible!

If you're interested in making your own saddlepad overlays, I highly recommend cloning the saddlepad overlay included in this download as a starting point. This saddlepad/blanket actually has a "mesh" attached to it (it's just the part of the horse GEOM where the saddlepad texture is) to allow for full normal maps, allowing for better-detail in your saddlepads. Otherwise, you can clone the EA saddlepads and just replace the diffuses with ones you make to fit this saddle, it just won't have that extra jazz.
Anyways, included the folder is a .psd file which is meant to help streamline making saddlepads to fit this mesh (and any future Dressage Saddle meshes/swatches) - There's a guide in the .psd but in general, just keep your textures within the mask/provided guide UVs in the .psd and you'll be golden!

oh im down to talk about this actually
TLDR version is: VBS -> Niigo -> L/N -> MMJ -> WXS
to nobody's surprise, VBS is my favourite, their music is everything i like, they have never missed in my eyes. With Giga being my fav producer i dont think its suprising at all theyre the unit i like best, I also really like most of the producers they have comms/ covers for before they came to the game so it really does feel like they were made for me. Also they're my little guys... I saw Akito before i started playing the game and i knew id end up having a horrid brainworm and here i am. But the other three i love so much as well its insane theyre all so cool and i love how they interact w eachother and everything and uaughghghghghghhghg... them.
Niigo is next since i think the characters are so insanely interesting as well as really liking their comms/ covers. Ena is my fav since im Shinonome pilled but the other three esp Mizuki hold places in my heart, esp with Mizuki being so well written as a trans character its crazy. I've read a good chuck but not all of their stories and I do really enjoy it, I gotta get back to doing that since I'm not fully caught up besides Mizu/Ena5 cuz I had to read that. But yea theyre also my little guys I love them sm
Leo/Need are awesome and underrated and I'm tired of people thinking theyre boring cuz theyre NOT, I think as they've progressed their comms/covers have gotten INSANE overtime, loads of their recent stuff is so crazy to me its all so so so sso so good. I'm rly into rock and guitar so I do rly like a lot of their stuff >:) Also Shiho is my fav I love you Shiho (the other are also v cool also tho), I need to catch up on Leoni cuz I do rly like reading it and the recent stuff seems very fuckin cool
More More Jump are also so cool, Jumpin' over is one of my fav comms in the fucking game that shit goes CRAZY and tbh i think they do hit with comms more often than Leo/Need but I've only rly read the mmj main story and i think a few others but i dont fully remember what the fuck i read since its been a while lmao. They all have great voices and I rly like them all, Airi and Minori more-so but I have no beef with the other two. So many bangers, fun designs, fun dances INSANE 2dmvs recently as well. Goats
Last is WXS, I like a good few of their covers and comms but its not close as many as any other unit in the game i don't think. I also read the main story and decided it does not interest me. I do like Nene a lot and I think Emu is fun, but i think if i went on a rant about the other two, I'd be shot in the head lmao, I just do not care abt them. But WXS did make Cyber Punk Dead Boy so they have that going for em ig
the gap bettween me liking the units is p close at the top 4 but theres a very noticable gap with wxs, sorry to any wxs heads
