So me trying to fix/rewrite the Soul Riders and their magic system led to researching the philosophy of souls in ancient Greece... just another day in the office

Anne Von Blyssen

Anne is one of the soulriders. When summer started she was away in Germany to do a dressage competition with Concorde. While there things went south. The others just belived she was gone for longer but after awhile they became worried. She comes from old money and kinda acts like old money. Even if she can sound like a snobb she is gently by heart with the ones closest to her. Anne has high ambitions and strive to be the best in her own abilities in dressage and showjumping. Anne's moodboard is individual pics bc I couldn't make it fit into the format that I use. Enjoy :)

For Anne I took heavy inspiration from starshine legacy. I will not base her outfits from sso. She may wear something like it but her everyday/school/social outfits are based on these pics.

Ok quick question just how the actual fuck do the soul rider and soul steed connections work because it's clearly not based on a single pair of souls being reincarnated and finding each other over and over again

Like there can be multiple generations of soul riders at once which okay it seems that every soul rider has their "own" incarnations of their soul steeds so it's clearly a generational thing that every I'd say 20-30 years there's a new group of riders

This means the reincarnation cycle should be based on the soul steeds life span which brings it's own set of problems like what if one of them gets killed (the Concorde incident) and it also would mean they have regular horse life spans which... you have talking magical horses surely they can live longer than your average horse next stable. They also seem to reincarnate pretty soon after they die if not right after they die, probably works like the avatar circle in atla. It's also pretty well established that there is only one guardian horse of each circle at any point in time. There can't be two starshines at once.

But there can be two (possibly three depending on how old the members get) incantations of soul riders at once

Elizabeth and Anne's mom (previous sun and star) were both still very much alive and kicking when Anne and Lisa (current sun and star) were born and bonded with their horses and discovered their powers and-

Do the previous soul riders just get weaker? are they just as powerful? How does it work??? TELL ME SSE TELL ME

What people think I mean when I say I miss the old SSO: 4 polygon graphics, low texture world map, janky animations and models, original character designs, honestly idk

What I actually mean: SSO's storyline before it went through several years of retcons and rewrites, deviating from the original Starshine Legacy games and Star Stable quests I played.

(So much has happened and it's been 10+ years since I started I don't remember the story anymore. What's the intro sequence say now? I know they redid the intro quests but not I'm spending $70ish rebuying (and replaying) the game. What quests have been removed that I still think are canon because how I would know they've been removed? What's even the story sequence anymore, I see people 'breaking the order' of quests on accident? Do people still do any Druid rep via druid training? Is there still rep grinding with closing Pandoric rifts with the shadow vacuum thing? What about those Pandoric Energy Reading dailies where you used the rune wand and it was kind of musical?? Do the Kallter get mentioned or are they 100% gone? I don't know and I shouldn't HAVE to make and buy a whole new account to find out and understand what is going on in the story!)

God I wish this game would be released as a Single Player Story game so it was a complete package when it was finished. Because I'm sure once the story is done and cleaned up it'll be okay, or at least on par with the Starshine Legacy games' storyline (which let's face it, were pretty bare bones, they didn't have much budget/resources to do much)

Linda is a curious person and her curiosity often puts her in trouble She loves to read and lose herself in the fictional world, her favorite book is Peter Pan Her horse is Meteor and they compete in showjumping together.

Hii sso I just wanna say I ADORE your headcanons as a Daphne Stan myself. I just wanna ask, do Daphne and Thoren in your rewrite have actually wholesome moments? Since from all the (absolutely amazing) drawings I've seen from your page, they cuss each other out for the fun of it XD. Also bonus (you can ignore this if you want) : does bloom know how much of a prick sky was to Thoren? If so what does she feel about it?

Anyway

1- Daphne and Thoren have known each other since they were 8 so it's not always a lover's relationship. It's more of a best friend relationship ever since Daphne accepted the fact that Thoren is stupid at some point when she was 10 or something. So even though they've been dating since 16, they're basically friends with benefits. Idk how to explain it, they act like friends but genuinely love each other as well???? So either way they do have wholesome moments because these bitches have not seen each other for 6 years so they're awkward asf the first year (s6). But they get used to finally being legally married and continue to act like they usually do 🥹👍

2- Bloom did not know about Thoren and Sky's relationship EVER even though she met Thoren back in season 1 (my rewrite). Thoren knows who Bloom is because of well... his girlfriend who died a year ago ig. 👍 Though she knows now because Daphne uses Thoren's traumas as an argument whenever she's in one with fuckass Sky so... Bloom confronted Sky about it but Sky doesn't answer shit so she doesn't know much other than when Daphne yells "YOU CAN'T SAY SHIT WHEN YOUR ASS GOT YOUR OWN COUSIN BANNED FROM THE FIRST MONARCHY BITCH"

Yeah the new quest was short as hell but. Awesome animations + incredible tension + getting to see my blorbos + me just being used to small quests atp made it not bother me that much eh. I’ve been at a point with SSO’s story where I’m like “meh I’m just here for the ride at this point. I’ll just fix it in my internal rewrite” for a while now 😭
