Right there with you.
It did leave me wondering if the Dark Riders know about Valedale, canonically. They did end up a little downriver from it in one of the latest main quest batches. Perhaps in view of it, depending on how literally you want to interpret distance in this map.
But I dunno. Maybe the Dark Riders mentioned Valedale in the past and I've simply forgotten about it, so I'll give them knowing about the village some leeway. Knowing about the SSC, though, not so much. That one is truly fear-inducing.
Fort Maria isn't as much of a surprise. After all, it's an ancient Roman fortress and the Dark Riders did meet us right at the base of the hill leading up to it, so they easily could have told Erissa about it.
Guardian's Dale also isn't a huge shock given that area was made by Pandorians (and is perhaps as old as Fort Maria), if memory serves me correctly. Having the doll in view of the campsite instead of the statues is a little odd, but the camp is on the way so it's hard to miss.
Can we PLEASE consider the IMPLICATIONS of the new doll quests for the keepers?!
Like, I’m assuming Erissa is using them to spy. Not super worrying, you might say. Who cares if she’s keeping an eye on the castle or on a runestone that’s no longer active. Or on a location where something happened to occur once.
But I’d like you to consider some of the other locations here.
FORT MARIA.
GUARDIANS DALE.
THE FUCKING SECRET STONE CIRCLE.
This is a HORRIFYING development for the keepers! Do you understand the implications of this?! Erissa is surveilling all these locations which means she KNOWS about them! Places that were supposed to be secret and that hold powerful artifacts!
AND YOU CAN’T EVEN FIGHT IT PROPERLY! Yes you can scare them off. FOR A DAY. Then they RETURN!
LIKE. THIS IS GENUINELY A NIGHTMARE SCENARIO FOR THE KEEPERS.

That would be very nice. At least that way I wouldn't have to rely on my friends to put in my suggestions for me.
If you have instagram, you can visit SSO's story to give them your ideas for the upcoming Andalusian!

The questions are:
What color do you want?
What's the ideal riding style?
What kind of personality should it have?
What kind of body conformation or shape should it have?

You know whats funny to me is that SSE has no idea what the plot is…and that’s great because it means we can have fun and do our own interpretations and bridge gaps.
Now, SSL, the books and SSO the game are considered by others as like, completely different media even though there is a referenced history of the SSO Soul Riders and the Dark Riders (the Katja James incident being pivotal evidence for this).
Is it canon to you? Is it not? IMO who cares.
Hell, the SSO lore has been re-written so many times over that it doesn’t make sense and thus, in a way, no-one's headcanons are completely true or completely false.
It’s called nuance and multiple things can be true at once.
The Star Stable lore is sooooo contradictory and incoherent, you kinda have to bullshit things and that is amazing. The things people come up with get me so excited and happy like yes tell me the weirdest, obscurist thing you’ve managed to link together.
What I have issues with is when people double down and call others wrong. That is not fun and goes against the entire overarching plot of kindness and community (and also saving the world but I digress).
Multiple things can be true at once.
Me? I believe in both human Dark Riders and alien Dark Riders. I’ve consumed all the media I can get my hands on and none of it makes sense but…I can tailor it to my will.
In one fic, I have the human Dark Riders (Undisclosed Desires). In another, they’re immortal harbingers of doom (Gothic Hearts and RoFD).
Multiple things can be true at once.
Let people have their fun because we sure as fuck need to have some joy in our lives.
In the wise words of our mother, Chappel Roan: “You’re not fun! Be fun and try!”

The bucket has to be completely empty for you to refill it while mounted. Yeah, I don't entirely get why it works that way either.
KIDS THESE DAYS DON'T EVEN HAVE TO OPEN THEIR INVENTORY TO DO STABLE CHORES. CLICK THE SPACEBAR AND BOOM YOUR MUCKING IS DONE. BACK IN MY DAY YOU HAD TO ACTUALLY USE THE SHOVEL AND BUCKET AND HAY. YOU HAD TO SIT THROUGH THE MUCKING ANIMATION AND YOU LIKED IT.

There is such a morbid tension now in the current state of the storyline.
Sands is gone - I hesitate to say 'dead', but at least gone for the time being. Darko has seemingly taken over DC operations and the whole of the continuing fight for Garnok's release.
We knew where Sands began and ended, for the most part. We knew what his morals were and that they were indeed existent, however fucked up in nature they were. Point is, he had some level of care for his ex-wife and family (and the new line that was updated a couple of years ago as we fly away with Justin on the starter "Now that HE (Garnok of Darko?) has seen you, you will never be safe on this island" just further leads me to believe that Sands was starting to 'wake up' from the trance Garnok had put him in). Sands also had a clear motive for his actions - doesn't make them right, but losing a loved one and spiraling is something anyone can acknowledge.
Darko on the other hand, is a complete unknown. Of course we know generally that he seemed much more extreme than Sands - he was the one who kidnapped Anne and threw her into 'hell', who attempted to murder Justin (in one of the most brutal ways possible), he was behind the Dark Horse serum experiments and the creation of the Nightmare Institute. Although this is more personal theory than anything, I really think Darko was either some sort of doctor or scientist before his stent with DC. Creating an institution for the study of what is essentially a mind and body-altering drug/steroid? There is so. much. potential. with his character.
All that being said, Darko is a much scarier villain than Sands could've ever been. Yes, I know he was a major creep in the older comics and SSL, but we have that motive there for him; we don't have one for Darko.
Darko is a wild card. We know he's willing to go to extreme lengths, but we don't know just how far he's willing to go, yet. I do hope they spend time working with and developing his character rather than just making him some goofy write off in the end. I love the game's concept of 'girl power' which was a fairly new concept in the video game sphere in the early 2000s, but unlike in SSL where the girl's had actual challenges that they overcame, SSO has started to go down the route of every other opposing character being completely incompetent so no real challenge is presented. We've seen the power the Soul Riders have - let them have actual challenges in the story.

STAR STABLE OFFICIAL SURVEY
There's a new pop-up in the launcher today asking if we'd like to take a survey about horse breeds we'd like to see in the game! The link didn't work in the pop-up for me, but if you go to the discover tab, and click the survey button at the bottom, it'll take you to a google form. Happy Horsing!

I would be lying if I said I didn't find it a little tedious but it's easier to zen my way through if I have something to listen to/half-watch on the side while I do it.
I did the whole garden for months but nowadays I really just do the ones around the little raised pool and the semi-circle against the hillside. Because I was growing/gathering way faster than I was crafting (I mostly craft hay and treats, so I make Rarity fertilizer by extension).
If I had any advice to give, it would probably be:
Use the mouse directly instead of the E key. It's more precise.
Click the ground where the plant is growing from, not the plant itself (this is often why people click the wrong one).
If your camera is like mine and likes to rotate a little right as you click to harvest, try to keep your horse facing directly away from you before you click.
Plant just one side of a 6-plot cluster so your mouse only has to move horizontally. Unless you're a crafting addict, you're not going to start running out of materials even when growing only half the garden.
Also, unofficially, pay attention to see if one plot in a trio yields flowers more often than the other two even when fertilized. For me, the left one seems to have a higher spawn rate.
I have such mad respect for people who can grind Path of Terra farming in Star Stable. How do you do it??? It's so absolutely mind numbing. There is nothing enjoyable about it, it's just excessively tedious (and clunky) repetitious clicking
Anything requiring precision clicking in SSO is gonna be clunky, so a whole mechanic that is just that? For like 20-30 minutes harvesting and replanting an entire garden? Awful. Miserable. Wretched. I don't know how some of you guys have the patience and I am in awe of you.
