#Enamelling Sunday progress 😊 Still a lot more to do. I think it will have to be enamelling Monday tomorrow as I still have more bits to enamel and finish. The once a month kiln sessions are working well for me at the moment. I am building up stock for my #onlineshop & upcoming in-person shows. I enjoy this aspect of my work a lot but enamelling is just one of the things I do. Once this batch is done I have a lot of hammering to do. New in my online shop today: Enamelled Copper Pendant 04 inspired by the Vibrant colours of India. I grew up in a country where vivid colours were a way of life, so it should be no surprise to anyone that I love bright colours. This is one of those pieces where I played with colourful enamel and this piece just emerged. Previous two in this series had red as the base colour, this one I decided to make orange. Vibrant Enamelled Copper Pendant 04 is approximately 5 cm round. The back of the pendant was enamelled in black enamel. If you feel like wearing a plain black pendant sometimes then definitely can! I will send this colourful pendant on a copper coloured plated chain as pictured. Double-sided Copper Disc Pendant Octopus’s Garden is a fun piece with colourful enamel on both sides. Last posting dates for #Christmas delivery 2021 - UK: 1st Class post - Monday, 20 Dec; 2nd Class post - Friday, 17 Dec The first pendant I made in this series was an experiment in melting crushed glass on a bed of enamel when I first started enamelling. When it came out of the kiln I wasn’t sure but once it had cooled down it looked like an underwater scene to me. Hence Octopus’s Garden. For this piece on Side 1 I started with a base of clear enamel and crushed glass then added different shades of blue to the piece and fired it again. Side 2 is for when the Octopus goes on his holiday in the Mediterranean. This side has Blue-green transparent enamel and a sprinkling of crushed Millefiore. Double-sided Copper Disc Pendant Octopus’s Garden OCTOPUS’S GARDEN 03 is 3.2 cm round. I will send this colourful pendant on a copper coloured plated chain. If you would prefer a vegan suede black cord then please say so at the time of placing your order and I will send on a cord instead. Gorgeous Enamelled Brooch Corsage 02 is a lovely colourful cluster of Millefiori flowers and floral wafers. A selection of these brooches will be part of the @ESCARTISTS Espae the Ordinary exhibition starting next Tuesday, 19 October at #Stamford Arts Centre A beautiful bouquet of flowers was the thought that came to me when I looked at the first brooch I made. No two brooches will be the same as I will use a selection of decorative media and different colour combinations for each one. The Corsage series of brooches evolved as I played with a few ideas on a piece of 1.6 gauge sheet copper left over from another project. I loved the results I got on the first brooch and thought this design needed to me made again. These pieces have been layered and fired several times to achieve the final look.
