“You know, if I’d known they planned this whole shabang on your birthday, I would have asked them to reschedule.” He squints skeptically at the colorful strobe lights shining outside of the club, one of the most prestigious in the city and the venue for the Olympic team’s belated New Year celebration. You could only imagine how loud the inside of the club would be, especially since it already seemed overwhelming outside and you weren’t even in the building yet. “I promise I’ll make it up to you this weekend, something a little…quieter.” 

“It’s okay, really,” you reassure him, setting a comforting hand on his thigh as he continues to bounce his leg in the driver’s seat. You run your thumb over the expensive fabric of his dress pants and he visibly relaxes, releasing a deep exhale and giving you an apologetic smile. The line for the valet was long and your boyfriend had politely declined your suggestion for him to hop out while you get the car situated. “I’m here for you and to meet the guys.” 

“That’s also something I’m a little anxious about,” he admits.

“How so?”

“They can get a little wild at these kinds of celebrations.”

“Well, we can bail whenever we want, right?” He nods, still a little unsure. “So, if the vibe is off or people start getting a little too wild, we leave and eat soup on the couch with a movie on.” The last comment about lounging around finally makes him smile and you lean over to press a light kiss on the side of his face, taking note of the way his ears become a little pinker even in the darkness of his car. A few minutes later, Hajime helps you step out of the car, tug on your coat and leads you to the entrance of the club, bypassing the extensive line with a tilt of his head to the bouncer. 

“This place was 100% Bokuto’s idea,” he mutters when you both step inside. “It’s like we’re at a frat party again.” A club employee escorts you up the stairs to a private, second floor balcony that overlooks the dance floor. “All the lights and music and drunk people is very reminiscent of that one during–”

“During junior year, second semester. The one I dragged you out of your dorm for because my roommates flaked out and I didn’t know anyone else to go with,” you grin, looking down at him over your shoulder as you climb the stairs. He’s quick to close any remaining space between you two once you reach the landing, snaking a protective arm around your shoulders while the employee gestures for you to join the rest of Hajime’s coworkers. “Except this time, everyone’s of age to drink.”

“In theory,” he murmurs. “I still think Hinata’s younger than he says he is.” You stifle a snort into your fist and catch him smirking before you’re bombarded by several suit-clad athletes with varying levels of alcohol intoxication. “Watch out for Atsumu. He spit-talks when he’s drunk.”

“Our beloved trainer has arrived!” On cue, the more chaotic Miya twin appears in front of you with one arm slung around his Jackal teammate, a buzzed-looking Bokuto, and followed closely by Hinata and Sakusa. “What took you so long?”

“I couldn’t find my good cufflinks,” he shrugs, revealing the silver volleyballs hiding on the inside of his wrists, the ones you got him on his first anniversary of working as a trainer. “Thought they were appropriate for the occasion.” You smile, watching your boyfriend act as cool and casual as ever, even in the face of his very enthusiastic colleagues. “I, uh, have someone for you all to meet,” he says, glancing at you with a questioning glint in his eye. Are you ready? You nod, taking a deep breath as he introduces you as his partner. 

“Like, in business?” Atsumu asks with such a genuine expression that makes you giggle. Behind him, you can see Sakusa slap an exasperated palm against his forehead. “You have a secret side hustle?” You bite your lip to keep from laughing too hard and look up to find your boyfriend with a similar expression. 

“No, dude,” Bokuto says slowly. “He means like, romantically. Like, a life partner.” Atsumu’s eyes widened to the size of car tires. “A partner for life, you know?” 

“Holy shit, you’re married?” You catch Sakusa mouth oh my god under his breath before he walks away from his dumbfounded teammate. Hinata is quick to steer both of his friends to a table before they fall over and rejoins the conversation as Hajime introduces you to the more collected players of the group. 

You shake hands with the stoic skyscraper that is Ushijima as well as receive a warm hug from Komori. Both note how great it was to finally meet you in person after your boyfriend seemed to never stop talking about you, before the man in question hurriedly introduces you to another player. Suna and Sakusa are quietly polite but open up more once you ask them about how training is going for the next Olympic games. While you chat with them, Hajime pulls over Aran and Yaku, introducing you as his partner with poorly hidden pride. Once they’ve assimilated into your conversation, he disappears into the herds of players and staff again to no doubt drag out another coworker.

“Forgive him for coming and going so much,” Yaku says apologetically. “I think he’s been waiting to show you off for a long time, even if he won’t admit it.”

“He’s really excited for people to meet me, huh?”

“I’ve never seen him this hyper and I’ve been drunk at a karaoke bar with him,” a new voice says who introduces himself as Kuroo, a tall guy with spiky hair that you remember Hajime arguing with over the phone several times. “Our offices are right next to each other and I like to play pranks every so often,” he explains when you ask him about why your boyfriend yells at him so much.

“Technically, it’s his fault for being out of the office so often,” Suna reasons. “And I only say that because I’m one of the accomplices to the office pranks. We all are.”

“I bought the wrapping paper for the one on his car,” Aran adds. “Yaku pitched in for the Post It notes on April Fools day, but we don’t let Atsumu in on the pranks anymore ‘cause he talks too much.” Your mouth gapes in disbelief, unable to imagine the organized, well put-together machine that is your boyfriend getting pranked so easily. 

“It’s only because we love him as a trainer, though.” Yaku is backed up by nods of agreement from the rest of his team. “He really loves his job; I think the only thing he loves more than volleyball is–”

“You, obviously.” Hajime returns from fishing out people to introduce to you, easily finding his place by your side. “They tell you about how much they fuck up my office?” The perpetrators’ voices overlap each other in protest, arguing that he’s the one who keeps leaving his door unlocked. “Yeah, yeah. Just you wait until I get this one in on pranks against you guys.” He tilts his head towards you and is met with friendly taunts of competition, saying that you’re too nice to prank them or that they’d never fall for any of his pranks. His head dips to whisper in your ear while the team is preoccupied with debating what song to request from the DJ to create one big Olympic flashmob. “Mind if I steal you away, real quick?”

“Of course. But be fast; you need to be back in time for the big dance number,” you tease and he rolls his eyes with an amused smile, lacing his fingers in yours and pulling you down a back hallway of the club. The black walls reflect the moody shades of pink, orange, and blue shining from the lights above and you find that the music isn’t as loud in the little corner he finds for you two. When you’re ready, he pulls out a small box tied with a ribbon from his pocket.

“Wanted to give you this on your actual birthday but didn’t want Atsumu’s big mouth to ruin it out there,” he says and you chuckle, carefully taking the box from his fingers and unwrapping the bow. You pull off the lid and find a delicately silver chain threaded through a pendant indented to resemble a volleyball; flipping it over and admiring it in the light, you discover a stamped “H” on the back that only appears when the light hits it just right. 

“Hajime, this is beautiful,” you breathe. 

“You like it?”

“I love it.” You remove the necklace from the box, but before you can fasten it around your neck, he stops you. 

“May I?”

“You are a hopeless romantic,” you grin. 

“Only for you.” His fingers brushing your neck send goosebumps over your skin and he carefully secures the chain at the back. 

“How do I look?” You turn to face him and see his pupils blown wide open, licking his lips and blinking to maintain his restraint. 

“Like you’re mine,” he rasps and he closes the remaining distance between your bodies, letting your back hit the wall and tilting your chin up with two fingers to kiss you. Your fingers comb through his hair and he groans into your mouth when you tug on it experimentally. His hands firmly grip your waist while he kisses you infuriatingly slowly, like he was savoring this private moment without the prying eyes of his teammates. He pulls away to breathe but doesn’t go far, nudging his nose against yours. “The guys didn’t say anything dumb to you, did they?”

“No, but they did let me know how much you talk about me,” you whisper and he rolls his eyes again, your eyelashes brushing his face when he leans in close again. “And how much your dumbass gets pranked.” 

“In my defense–” You cut him off with an uncontrollable fit of laughter, one that he joins into with a tired shake of his head. “You know what? I don’t have a defense. Happy birthday, my love.” He presses a sweet kiss to the top of your forehead. “Every day I think about what I did to deserve someone like you.”

“You existed and I found you,” you say simply. “That’s just how it works and now you’re stuck with me and all my future birthdays.”

“You say that like I’m not ready to grow old with you in any lifetime.”

Heeseung has never been open about his crush on the yg artist for this reason exactly …he didn’t want his own fans attacking you ,, as well as he would hate to have to stop being friends with you. Heeseung never expected you to text him at 4am telling him to open Twitter and look at the most trending hashtags; “#y/nstayawayfromheeseung” was all his attention could be focused on as he cursed to himself. Heeseung was too scared to open the tag scared of what awful things could lie in there ,, all he could really think of was apologizing to you for his fans behavior even if you told him It’s fine. Will likely waddle his way towards Jungwons’ room and vent to him about how he feels and asking him for advice as Jungwon just nods at him and gives him a hug reassuring him that the company would do something.

Jay found out from his manger ,, he was in the middle of practice when his manger pulled him out to the hallway for a minute. He explained to Jay about the rumors going around and how starlights manager had called and said that engenes have been harassing their idol and would like Jay would speak up. Quickly nodded made His way back into the dance room and grabbed his phone out of his bag ,, he made sure to Apologize to you for his fans behavior and let you know that he will speak to them. And that he did man went live and had a whole vent on how he raised engenes better and there should be no reason for them to bully one of his close friend. Will not shut up till engenes apologized to you ,, #disappointedfather :(

Jake knew he messed up when he slipped out how he's been very close with his celeb crush which everyone knew was the one and only yg’s ace y/n. He turned towards the door tryna figured out if his problems would leave if he just walked away. He faced his camera once again and tried to play it cool …keyword TRIED ,, he decided to read the comments to only realize they were flooded with a bunch of mean things about you. Jake could only frown at such mean words about such a nice person. “guys that's not nice …y/n is a very nice person to be shown such disrespect ,, please be nice and respectful.” Will bribe engenes to stop the hate from spreading …which surprisingly worked well :)

No one was surprised when sunghoon confidently said you were his ideal type/crush ,, you guys basically grew up together and you were his girl version ,, same goals and skills. He didn't see anything wrong with his actions so when you called him asking him if he's gone insane he just shrugged it off ,, thinking you haven’t eaten and that you're extremely cranky so he will order you food and call it a day. Realizes its a problem when he opens Twitter to see engenes bashing you left and right ,, will post something on weverse telling engenes to calm down as you've bro-zoned sunghoon more than 10000x …which only made it worst because who bro-zones THE Sunghoon?? Will give up on trying to calm his fans down and instead just tells you that bashing you is how they show love :p

Sunoo was in the middle of recording ,, the boys and him had a day off and he decided to go shopping. Their manager told them to film for engenes ,, as he was in the middle of picking colognes for his members his eyes landed on a perfume/colognes. He quickly made his way toward it ,, “would y/n like this?” He asked himself as he sprayed a little on his wrist to smell it. Honestly he didn't even realize that was caught on camera and he just expected the editing team to take it out …but they didn't. Sunoo felt horrible when he saw how mean engenes were being toward you ,, so during one of his vlive’s he made sure to tell engenes that people have feelings and they need to be nicer.

You and Jungwon have been invited to be on knowing brothers ,, despite already knowing each other you both agreed this could better your friendship. You guys were currently scribbling on the board ,, you were in the middle of drawing a random character from one of your favorite animes before your attention was stolen by heechul as be pointing out what Jungwon had wrote on the board ,, “they're very pretty :p” was written with an arrow next to it pointing towards you. You were shocked at what Jungwon had written but whispered a small thank you as you kept doodling. Once the cameras stopped rolling your manager came up to you and showed you his phone to be faced with engenes bashing you for your lack of reaction to Jungwons message and also because he wrote it to begin with. You could hear someone running towards you and you were met with a bowing Jungwon who was apologizing on engenes behavior before he ran back to where he came from. Was Dry towards engenes for a week on weverse for their horrible behavior ,, #disappointedfatherpt2

Everyone knew you and niki for being a playful mc duo ,, you guys were very close as you guys shared a lot in common especially a love for dancing. During a vlive with sunoo engenes asked niki who was his ideal type/crush to which your name slipped out his mouth as he smiled at the camera before looking back down at the tablet in front of him. A lot of people were very nice and respectful to nikis choice but of course there was that other half who couldn’t let the kid get a break. When niki started reading a bunch of harsh and rude comments made about you he shook his head and lifted his head to look at the camera again “bad ,, please be respectful towards y/n :( ,, or I will not hesitate-“ he cut himself off with a small smirk and looked back down at the tablet …will probably never tell engenes what he meant but hey at least he got them to stop :D

This is one of my absolute favorite GGDD CPN of all time.

Fake, fan fiction, CPN.

As everyone knows, 2020 was a really rough year for GG. Not only was he a victim of the 2/27 nightmare, he was the target of serious attacks and harassment all year long. He couldn't go anywhere without security issues, and frequently antis would post about his location and launch mass complaint campaigns against whoever was hosting him.

I can't overstate how scary it was.

GG was laying incredibly low at the time and was rarely seen, and when he was seen it would be a surprise appearance to prevent antis from being able to try to sabotage his schedules.

Tencent Starlight Awards was set to take place on the 20th of December. Everyone was wondering whether GG would attend. There were a lot of rumors, announcements and reports about the stars who would be there, but only vague rumors about GG. Some people were saying he likely wouldn't be there because of 2/27, while others were holding out hope of a surprise appearance from him.

When the rehearsal schedule was leaked online GG did not appear on it at all, which caused some dismay among those who'd been hoping for a surprise appearance.

However, DD was on there, and listed as taking up significantly more rehearsal time than any other artist. Most people were scheduled for a half hour to an hour, while DD was scheduled for a full two hours; a half hour for sound and vocals, another hour and a half for him to rehearse with the dancers (he had been scheduled to do a dance performance but that was later cancelled).

He came under heavy fire from haters who claimed he was too full of himself and taking up too many resources. No matter how badly he was criticized for it, he kept silent and issued no statement about it.

When video footage from the rehearsal leaked online (clearer video here) it was discovered that DD wasn't the only one taking up those time slots. GG was seen rehearsing right after DD (this was also the first time GG's red microphone was seen).

In other words DD had hidden GG's rehearsal time under his name on the schedule - and taken fire for using up so much time - so that GG's rehearsal (and attendance at the event) could remain secret for as long as possible, which would provide maximum protection from sabotage by antis.

Excuse me a moment, I think I have something in my eye... 🥺

And if you look closely in the video you can see GG onstage (on the right), and across from him stands another figure wearing a black hoodie, dark toque, mask and green cargo pants. There was SO MUCH arguing over who that person was!

BXG were saying it was DD (reports said that DD watched GG's rehearsal and took photos and video), solos were saying it was a staff member - they even had elaborate posts with detailed explanations of who it was and supposed evidence confirming it (I wish I had some of those posts saved because they'd be interesting to go over now, but I don't save anti BS).

Then today video emerged of DD's rehearsal that day (which we've already established happened moments before GG's) that shows he was dressed uncannily like the person in the GG rehearsal video.

So this CPN only gets sweeter as the years pass! 😅

And we know the rest. GG went onstage and performed to a massive sea of red light banners that fans had smuggled in to show their support. I already talked a bit about how incredible that moment was in my post about the anti video a couple weeks ago:

We had just spent several months watching GG get trashed and attacked and negatively discussed in the media. He had been lying low for months and months. Many of us wondered whether he’d ever recover. As we all know - in C-ent, artists are routinely canceled and blacklisted, often for apparently minor 'infractions’. We had no reason to believe GG would be able to bounce back.

Then Tencent Starlight Awards comes along, and here’s GG on the red carpet and then onstage, singing in front of a huge audience, and there was a sea of red light banners that fans had smuggled in to show their love and support. And GG was clearly deeply moved by it all, to where he got choked up toward the end.

I don’t think I was the only person bawling my eyes out at that moment. I STILL can’t watch that video without getting choked up. It was such an important moment in GG’s career.

And GG was visibly relieved. I can only imagine how elated he must have been after the event, to see that his career was going to survive.

There was a lot of CPN for that night, much of which emerged from a LRLG fake rumor that discussed the events of that night.

DD was nervous to go onstage so GG gave him his ring to carry in his pocket. DD was seen onstage holding something in his pocket that night.

GG and DD laughed about the BXG light banners, and paid particular attention to one that read, "Dumplings, rice noodles, 3+2 biscuits" which was hanging near the teleprompter and directly in their field of vision onstage.

There was some discussion of DD looking at GG when they were onstage together as part of the final group.

And it closed off with the cryptic "Let's meet in 2022" that has me 🤡 today as I think about the (VERY UNLIKELY) possibility of them being on the same stage for NYE this year.

There was also some well-supported CPN from that night about GG and DD seeing the "river of stars" banner that a BXG was holding up. You can read all about that here.

There was some CPN about DD's bodyguard Lele looking after GG when they were preparing for the final group stage.

I'm sure I've forgotten a lot. We were buried under CPN for days, even weeks after that event! 😅

Here’s another glaring contradiction in the books. Credit to @drunk-on-starlight for pointing it out.

In Help Wanted, Fazbear Ent. panics over Glitchtrap being there. They steal the circuit boards they gave to the game developer, and make virus scan disguised as a DLC. (There’s an easter egg on night 3 of Danger! Keep Out that heavily implies this.)

Yet, the company didn’t hesitate to use the same program in Storyteller, if it was indeed the Mimic all along.

Yeah, that's exactly part of why I think Glitchtrap is actually William. Not only that, but the purpose of the circuit boards was different from Mimic's codes. There would be zero reason to lie about the circuit boards, much less steal them back if they were just a standard program used by the company.

People were so quick to latch onto Mimic as a new villain it seems like they were also hasty in saying Mimic was a whole bunch of things it wasn't while ignoring just how many ways it doesn't make sense.

It is a long time, even as Ents count it, before Fangorn falls. Even the youngest of them, like Quickbeam, have grown grey and sleepy. Treebeard rarely stirs from his hill, deep in the forest. The trees no longer sing to him, or else he can no longer hear them.

The dominion of men has come, and men come at last to Fangorn. If they remember the old stories, they do not heed them, but perhaps they simply do not know. They cut trees to build homes. They cut to clear land. They cut for firewood. Slowly, then quicker, the forest dwindles.

Treebeard and the other Ents do not rise in wrath this time. They are too old and tired, and these are no orcs. These men have wives and children. They do not waste the wood. They sing as they build, and are grateful. There are just too many of them, and their lives are too short. They are careless, not cruel.

One night, as the axes ring, Treebeard knows the time has come. He takes a slow step, the first in a century, then another. Every step leads westward. Every Ent and Huorn who remains follows him. In the morning, the woodsmen find the forest strangely changed, but they do not understand what has happened.

Slowly, wrapped in shadow, the last march of the Ents crosses the land. Few see them, fewer take them for anything but trees in the distance. At last, they reach the sea.

They have no boats. They lift their log-like bodies on the waves. They float and swim, seeking the straight way. There is no Elf left in Middle-Earth who could guide them, but sometimes they can see a star.

Their bodies grow heavy with salt water. First one, then another, sinks beneath the waves. At last, even Treebeard goes down, out of the starlight of the world.

He wakes up on an unfamiliar shore. The few branches he had left are gone, and his gnarled skin is now smooth and pale as driftwood, but he feels much lighter. He stretches his ancient limbs, and finds them less stiff than he remembered.

A song he had not realized was not part of the wind and waves suddenly breaks up in laughter. He turns, and sees another shape, tall and lithe as sea grass.

“It took you long enough to get here, but then I shouldn’t be surprised. An oak takes longer to bear fruit than a berry-bush.” She looked into his eyes, with the green, sparkling eyes of their people, “I would have waited twice as long.”

He could not remember how long it had been since he last saw those eyes. He could not remember what she had looked like then, though he felt sure she was as changed as he. He wasn’t even sure if he remembered her name.

He took her hand, and together they walked into the cool blue morning, with the sunrise streaming behind them.

Dinner Party

(A gift for @tamloid, to accompany my short story Arrival, and set in the same ‘verse)  :D

Legolas and Gimli sat at a table which seemed spun of starlight, clear crystal winking in the reflected light of both the actual stars and tiny points of light from gems holding trapped starlight.  Dinner in the House of Finarfin-in-Tirion was a formal affair this night, and everyone was in their finest robes of flowing samite, mostly white worked with gold thread.  Drifting hangings of diaphonous silk shifted and flowed with every waft of air or breeze, and the hall was open to the skies above.  The quiet murmur of conversation was a barely-heard susurrus in a hall that seemed frozen in time.

Legolas was clad in the same clothes as everyone else, loose hair bound back with a fillet of mithril Gimli had given him as an anniversary present once young Durin got the mines open again.  Gimli, for his part, was wearing the same formal clothes he had worn as Lord of Aglarond, heavy, rich fabrics worked with the angular knotwork of the Longbeards and a circlet of gold and garnets.  He stood out like a raven at a tea party.  The only saving grace Gimli could see was that they were seated next to Galadriel and Celeborn; he couldn't have imagined what he would have spoken about with any of the others.

"So," he said, wrapping up a story, "that's when this one here decided that he was offended at how this Varon of Umbar had spoken to me, and challenged him to a duel!  For my honor, mind you, in me own court!"  Galadriel giggled and even Celeborn chuckled, though the elves beside them looked vaguely horrified.  Laughing, he elbowed Legolas who was peering irritably into his empty wineglass.  A servant stepped forward to fill it immediately, and Gimli gave a tiny wince.

"It didn't happen that way at all," Legolas sighed through down-turned lips, cutting his eyes at his husband.  "You always make me sound ridiculous."  He went back to staring into the pale wine in his goblet.  Oh dear, Gimli thought.

"Now now, just silly stories, love.  Got to make conversation with something, aye?"  Gimli caught Galadriel's eye, knowing she was almost certainly in his head, and thought as hard as he could, no more wine for this one, if you please.  Her eyes sparkled as she gave a grin that belonged more on a mischievous urchin than the Lady of the Noldor, but he saw with relief that she leaned back to speak to the server.

"I don't like it," Legolas said a bit too loudly, causing his elven neighbor to glance over and quietly move a tiny bit away.  Gimli gritted his teeth at that, but let it go; Legolas was still speaking.  "He was rude, and he had been rude the whole time.  I thought it likely he was a Black Numenorean - I know the signs, you know, being as I'm old enough to remember the Last Alliance!  Probably was, too, if you'd just let me fight him we'd know."

"You'd have killed him, love, and we'd have been without a treaty," Gimli said softly, patting the long, pale hand beside him on the table with one of his ruddy, stocky ones.  "No need to drag all that out again, it's long gone and likely so's he.  Just a good story, that's all.  So, my Lady," he said, glancing over to where Galadriel and Celeborn were watching this with fascination, "how are you finding your, uh, new location here?  Trees growin' nicely, seemed like."  He ignored the irritable huff from his husband and hoped that the dinner was nearing its end.

"Yes, well seen," Galadriel said with that same mischievous smile, "and your husband's tutelage is showing once again, my Champion.  For a son of Durin to notice trees is a triumph indeed.  Have you been able to visit Fangorn much since we left? I know that was still your plan when we sailed."  Conversation flowed for a few minutes more, as Gimli described the wonders of Fangorn forest.

"... Those ents were terrifyin', I'll tell you that.  I can't feel the trees, o'course," Gimli said, "but even I could feel the age in the place!  It was like comin' into a deep cavern that hadn't been touched since Mahal made the world, that same sense that yours were the first eyes' t'see it."  He took Legolas' hand in his own.  "And then when we got to Aglarond, and my heart could see the caves, I like to think I returned the favor of showin' him somethin' not everyone had seen."  He leaned forward.  "There are crystals of pure clarity there the height of a tall man, Lady.  There are pools of water so clear that the bottom looks an inch below the surface, but that go down a fathom, and gems so clean and pure it might be a shrine to Mahal Himself! Aye, it..."  As he spoke, he noticed out of the corner of his eye Legolas motioning to the server for more wine.  Unfortunately, instead of filling the glass, the elf pretended not to see.

Legolas whirled on Gimli, interrupting him.  "Gimli son of Gloin, son of Groin, son of Farin, son of... son of... whoever!  What have you done!"  Galadriel's eyebrows were halfway up her forehead and Celeborn looked shocked, though the corners of his mouth were apparently fighting him.  Legolas drew himself up and glared, and for a moment it was as though Thranduil himself had appeared in the hall.

"Well, that's that," Gimli sighed heavily.  "Our apologies, Lady, Lord Celeborn, but 'twould seem we've had enough feasting for the night.  Once he gets like his father, no good can come of it.  Be well, and we will see you in the morn, I'm sure,"  Standing, he hoisted a loudly protesting Legolas over his shoulder like a child and stumped off, with the occasional shouted obscenity trailing behind them.  Behind them, the hall was deathly silent.  Galadriel's face was perfectly composed, though an occasional quiver in her shoulders indicated how hard she was fighting not to laugh.

Celeborn cleared his throat.  "Do you remember," he said in a casual voice, "when Melian made a pet of Oropher?  We all..." he stopped, smiling,  as Galadriel slapped his arm in a practically dwarven display.

"Celeborn," she snickered.  "You're horrible."  Leaning over, she touched his face.  "And that's precisely why we're married, my love."  A shriek came from the halls, followed by a wet sound and then silence.  "I think young Thranduilion just got flung into the pool."  Finally the two looked at each other and burst out laughing, ignoring the scandalized looks from the rest of the hall.  Eternity with Legolas and Gimli was going to be interesting indeed, she mused.  But definitely not boring.

I love how they exist on such a completely different timescale that the world has forgotten about them and they've completely overlooked everything going on around them - but when they're shown what's happening, they join in the fight.

📚 boxset: how were you first introduced to Middle Earth? I think I read The Hobbit when I was about 12; my dad was at university in the late 60s and like absolutely everyone else got into Tolkien then, so he had the books on the shelf. I must have enjoyed it, though I remember nothing about it, because I went on to Lord of the Rings but, I am sorry to say, I was utterly defeated by the first chapter, put it down and didn't pick it up again. Fifteen-odd years later the films came out, and that was my proper introduction, and is still my fandom home.

tindómiel is half a century younger than lord eldron of rivendell (who is her uncle), and more than two thousand years younger than lady galadriel of lórien. tindómiel spent several centuries speaking with the ents during her life, enjoying fanghorn forest as a welcome traveler, in addition, she has met and made friends with gandalf greyheim over her life and has explored many of the known realms of middle-earth, which she sometimes still calls by the sindarin name ennorath.

AGE REF: at the beginning of the hobbit, she would be 6,321 years old, whilst at the beginning of lord of the rings she would be 6,398 years old.  she is based on the canon, unestablished, tindómiel as referenced in tolkien's 'unfinished tales and the nature of middle-earth.'
