I  think  the  saddest  part  about  her  story  to  me  is  that  she  wants  someone  to  view  her  as  a  pure  soul,  as  the  sunlight  to  their  darkness  —  but  she  knows  she’s  the  darkness  that  plagues  everyone’s  life.  she  wants  to  be  a  happy  person,  she  wants  to  be  loved  the  way  everyone  else  is,  and  she  wants  to  feel  like  she’s  important  in  someone  else’s  story,  but  she  knows  deep  down  it  isn’t  possible.  she’s  the  villain,  she’s  the  side  character,  and  she’s  someone  who,  no  matter  what,  will  be  lost  and  will  end  up  tragically  dying  in  the  end  —  someone  who  will  be  forgotten  easily . . .

The crisp and splatter of the fire was filling the silence that laid between them like a blanket. It was soft and comfortable, light on the skin. Y/n had her head lean against a tree, her eyes were focusing up on the sky.
The two never properly talked before. Sure, Percy saw Y/n around before, he noticed her. How couldn’t he? She was beautiful. Always a smile on her face.
“Aren’t Apollo kids supposed to like the sun more than the moon?” Percy asked her, his voice cracking at the end.
She didn’t look at him, still she answered. “I suppose so.”
“Then why don’t you?” He asked her, his hands playing with a small stick he found on the floor. His fingers were nervously fidgeting while he thought about a possible answer to whatever she was gonna answer him.
“I believe everything is beautiful,” she said, her voice softening with every second she stared at the moon. “And I can look at the moon, which makes it more bearable for my eyes to admire.”
She wasn’t as bright as the sun, but Percy still couldn’t keep his eyes on her, before his nerves got the better of him and he looked away. Not that she would notice. She had her mind elsewhere. It was all on the constellations and meanings behind the sky. It was where she couldn’t go to.
“That’s why most people aren’t close to her,” Annabeth told him earlier. “They aren’t willing to sit in silence for a long time, watching the sky like she does.”
But Percy was convinced, that he could watch her for a lifetime and not get bored. His eyes traveled over her face, taking in every little detail he could capture.
When he felt creepy for looking at her for so long, he looked up at the sky. You could see the moon but the stars weren’t as visible as they could be.
The boy stood up and took the water can to extinguish the fire. Y/n loosened her gaze from the sky above and looked at him. She really looked at him. Percy felt something inside him tighten as she furrowed her eyebrows at his action.
“Light disturbs the dark,” he answers. “It makes the stars less visible.”
When he sat back down, he sat closer to her.
“Thank you,” Y/n answered, moving her body closer to his as well. “Look, I appreciate your concern, but you don’t have to stay if you don’t want to.”
Percy looked at her confused, why wouldn’t he want to be by her side?
“I like being in your presence,” he simply answered, before looking back at the sky.
Y/n watched him for a minute longer before planting a kiss on his cheek. The boy looked at her perplexed. She was surprised at her action herself, so when he smiled down at her, she didn’t know how to react.
Percy found himself now more comfortable looking at her. He was closer, which made it easier to look at her. He noticed the way her lips wanted to form a smile on her face as she noticed his eyes on her. He noticed how her body leaned into his by the second. He noticed how he didn’t had to look at the sky to see the stars. She had them in her eyes. They were sparkling and shining bright.
The later the time got, the colder the weather became. The two teens were sat side by side, watching the moon and the stars, when Y/n’s body shivered from the cold. Percy noticed it from how her skin moved against his. He took his sweatshirt off and gave it to her immediately.
“Oh, no. Percy, it’s fine,” she tried to talk him out of it but Percy wouldn’t let her.
“Take it,” he said with a serious face.
Y/n took the sweatshirt from his hands before pulling it over head. It was too big on her, but it was comfortable.
“I think we should go back to our cabins,” she mentioned, gaining a nod of approval from Percy.
The pair walked back together in silence. As they stopped before Cabin 7, Y/n was about to take the sweatshirt off of her body.
“Don’t,” Percy told her, stopping her from giving it him back. “Keep it.”
Before she could protest, Percy leaned down and gave her a kiss on her cheek. The moonlight followed him as he walked back to his own cabin, making him visible to her. Her star.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it was the new king’s coronation day, and as tradition demands, he shall have his pick of the finest women in his lands. you were brought forth amongst a host of other ladies deemed pretty enough for the young king to choose from. you were the only one of them that seemed irritated by the prospect, all the other girls were tittering and combing their hair while discussing their chances of being picked to be the dragon king’s new bride. he examined you all in a line, sneering at all the smiling and fluttering lashes—sending them crying from the room. he pauses on you, his gaze was stern and fiery but you didn’t hesitate to square your shoulders and meet it. he’s surprised; you don’t smile or extend your hand for him to kiss. you challenge him, you tell him with that strong set jaw and steel stare that you won’t be easy. he feels a pull on his heart, something he cannot yet explain. he likes you.
you tilt your chin up, almost like you’re the one sizing him up. you’re so regal and amusing to him that his mind is made up instantly, but he gives you a few more minutes of looking him over, hoping to see some semblance of interest on your face. king bakugou was a hulking form of a man, towering above everyone in the room. they always were bigger than the normal humans, but he was larger than any of the dragon shifters you had ever come across. the room almost didn’t seem big enough to contain him, and it was his castle. his burlap trousers balloon around his lower half, but it seems there were not shirts big enough to fit the new king of dragons, only a long fur cloak that fastened with a golden dragon broach stretching across the broad expanse of his chest. he was tanned and scarred from years of flight and battle, and muscled even more so. he had hints of sparkling scarlet scales trailing along his collarbones with pointy teeth that alluded to his other form. his biceps bulged as he folded his arms across his chest, admiring you as you admire him with a satisfied smirk on his face. you didn’t throw yourself at him like the rest, and he doubted you would yet still, but you weren’t shy to let your eyes linger on him. he likes you.
he smirks your way, grunting his approval. you were the perfect match. you certainly were the most beautiful creature of his kingdom, and your womanly figure assured him that he would sire several successful heirs with you. you captivated him and you had not yet spoken a word, though the young king could feel that fierce tugging on his heart again, something he now recognizes to be his mating bond the longer he looks at you and the stronger the feeling grows.
“mine.” he says simply, nodding at you in content. his right hand man and fellow dragon shifter steps closer, handing his friend and king a fur pelt similar to the one he wears before retreating back into the onlooking crowd. the king unclasps the matching golden dragon, swinging the covering over your shoulders and snapping the jewelry back into place with a surprising nimbleness. this was the first of many gifts the king would dole out for his mate and queen, but this is the first one to mark you as his. you’re shocked to be chosen, convinced he would take your surveying for disrespect and brutalize you here to send a message— but alas, the most explosive dragon ruler in all the lands chose you as his bride. “you are my mate. we will marry in two moons. dismissed.”
he looks over your head when he says this, ending the celebrations in favor of alone time with his chosen. his gaze has a hint of boredom to it as it glides around the room, red and fiery with unspoken strength and power behind them. you straighten yourself under the weight of your new cloak, bowing your head out of respect, albeit so quick it made the king exhale heavily through his nose as if to chuckle.
“you are amusing, mate.” he says, extending a warm battle-worn hand to push your hair away from your neck. he lets it rest against your shoulder, smirking at how small you were compared to him. it was overwhelmingly apparent that he could do anything he wanted to with you, and you weren’t necessarily opposed to the concept. you started this day with immense rage and dread at having to go before the king and be selected like a prize horse. but he surprised you, even being every bit as brute and brash as everyone said he’d be, his eyes sparkled when they came across you. he declared you his mate—-a huge deal for a dragon shifter, and shrouded you in the engagement cloak without so much as a second thought. there was no arguing with the king, nor his mating bond. your soul was created to nurture his, and vice versa. he felt this snap into place instantly, as a mortal, you probably wouldn’t feel the strength of your connection for several days to weeks. it was an honor, one you couldn’t believe was bestowed upon you—but you certainly weren’t complaining anymore. “i like you.”
you feel your body warm a bit from something as simple as his touch. he’s rough around the edges, and certainly doesn’t know how to be gentle or verbose, but his statement makes you smile warmly anyway. “thank you, my king. i’m quite amused as well.”
he lets his hand slide from your shoulder all the way to your hand, clutching it tight as he brings it to his lips, giving it a chaste kiss. your scent makes his heart skip a beat, and he wonders if he can make it through the next two months without ravaging his sweet maiden.
the days pass, slowly, but they pass. your king brings you several gifts and trinkets, filling your new chambers with tokens of his affection and fondness for his mate. the dragons were known for this, and your mate was the brightest and biggest of them all. so never did he go out to fly without returning with a clutch of presents. he was always so proud of himself as he showed them to you, shoving all the perfumes and jewels in your hands with a boastful grin.
“i found these for you. wear them.” he grunts, roughly pulling you into his arms for a crushing hug. he was working on it, but he manhandled you on accident a majority of the time, not used to interacting with women. you were getting used to it anyhow, only giggling and nodding your acceptance, cooing at how beautiful all the gifts were. he preens in your praise, eager to earn the deep affection that the bond produces.
you couldn’t deny that the bond was starting to affect you, as if you needed any help falling for the monster of a man meant to be your husband. he was kind and loving to you, and you couldn’t ask for much more. he was feared and revered, if you were dumb enough to cross him or his kingdom—soon to be your kingdom, then you earned the punishment of his hellfire tenfold. you wouldn’t find yourself begging for lives to be spared as you stand in the crowd while watching the king dole out sentences. he was brutal, and scary, vicious and primal in every way. his servants tremored in his wake, and though his people loved his protection, they feared his wrath. you were truly the only exception, and it was mystical for everyone to see the fierceness that abounds for his soon to be wife, his forever mate, his queen. and they could only hope your loving tenderness would tame the wild king.
he took meals with you, showed you around his dreary and plain castle, easily agreeing to your every decoration suggestion and insisting you do whatever you want—this is your home now too. he even took you on rides in his gorgeous dragon form, letting you see how beautiful the sun setting over the kingdom was, flying you to different nations, journeying close to the seawaters so you could feel the salty wind on your skin. he forced himself to sleep in his own quarters at night, trying and struggling to abide by common decency.
when your wedding day finally arrived, the king was more than ready to make you his queen officially—and then cart you to bed where decency would be the last thing on his mind. the ceremony is gorgeous, the image of you in your wedding gown was never to be forgotten on him, even though he couldn’t wait to rip it off of you. his brain had already geared into the darker side of things by the time you were being shown to your now shared chambers, and he could not resist his mate any longer.
you weren’t faring much better. however this mating bond usually affected mortal women, it had you ready to climb your king like a tree. as soon as the doors were closed, he was on you, shoving you backwards while hastily tearing at your dress. you assist him in getting it over your head with only minimal rips in the fabric. you can’t bring yourself to care as you fall back on the bed with his body covering yours like a blanket. he’s snarling, but he’s not angry, just eager and too impatient to think about all the lessons he’s learned in being gentle. he scoops you up and tosses you up towards headboard, and you swear you can see steam billow off his form as he eyes you down, watching you lay and spread for him.
“it’s been hard…waiting for you.” he complains, unfastening his cloak and letting it fall to the floor. the moment is so intense, you can feel the air thicken, smell the need permeating the air. he’s breathing heavily already, tugging at the weaving strings keeping his pants closed. your breath hitches when you see his scales glisten in the moonlight, the outline of his cock pressing against the troublesome burlap material. you pant out and nod, knowing the growth before you was only the first hint of what he had to pleasure his mate with. dragon shifters are larger than mortal men in every way, reflecting their dragon status in several different physical markers along their bodies, scales along their collarbones and spines, long mane-esque hairstyles, and of course their cocks. he steps out of the clothing, his massive leaking dick slapping up against his abs with a loud smack, you moan.
his ashy patch of hair and the scarlet scales glistening against his hip bones direct your attention to the monster cock you married. he’s long, thick, curved, lined with veins and a throbbing pink tip leaking his pre-cum in droplets on the bed. it was easily half the size of his thigh, both length and width wise. he fixes himself on the bed, shredding your panties with sharp talons and eyeing your tiny hole. he has all the intentions to stretch you a bit, to get you soaked to accommodate him but when he looks back up at you, you’re drooling.
you can’t imagine how good that’s going to feel inside you. all the times you had touched yourself out of curiosity or even genuine horniness would hardly compare to this, to the man it’s attached to—the way he watches you like a predator tells you there was nothing in this world that would prepare you for what he was about to do to you–what you wanted him to do to you. “i know…” you say after taking a deep breath, reaching for his face. “i’ve had to wait just as long.”
you squirm in place, lidded eyes flickering from his endowment to his eyes and then back again. “just wanna feel my king…i know you’ll fill me up so well.” you coo, batting your lashes.
he’s not in the right mind to banter with you, the only thoughts crossing his brain at the sight and scent of you was to ravage. he grips your hips tightly, trying to will himself to be stronger and give his new bride the treatment she deserves. he should prepare you like a gentleman, but unfortunately the young king is unable to will himself to be gentle. you seem to read his mind, nodding and spreading your legs a bit further, allowing him to get settled in the space you provide. he wastes no time in lining up with your entrance and bottoming out. he knows it’s sadistic that he enjoys the way your eyes cross at the sensation, the burning and splitting stretch ripping a sob from your throat. you clutch at his arms, the natural slick you produced just from your own anticipation aiding him in the glide. he stays still for a moment, letting you adjust to him so he can also adjust to the feeling of your virgin pussy gripping him like a hand-tailored glove. he can’t fight the groan that leaves his lips, mindfully keeping his talons retracted as he rakes his hands over your plush stomach and wide hips, stopping to paw at your thick thighs and fat ass. he’s already rendered speechless, only able to grunt and groan as he starts to move, putting your legs up to his shoulders as to not face any resistance. you cry out at the new angle, absolutely feeling the searing heat of him splitting you apart, but you love it. you move your hips against his, head digging back against the pillow at the newfound pleasure.
it’s so hard for him to go slow, especially as you fuck yourself into him and cry out for more. your body takes him so well, as it was designed to, but he still didn’t expect it to feel and look and sound so good. he can see himself in your stomach, the spikes along his base curling into you and hitting every spot so well. you didn’t even know it was possible to feel this good, his cockhead drilling into your womb so hard it has the corners of your vision turning white.
he’s growling, unable to repress his animalistic side completely. he leans forward, snapping his hips to yours as your wanton moans fill the room. he lets his tongue lave over your neck, making you gasp out at the feeling. “mate–i need to mark–bite..” he rumbles in your ear, goosebumps rippling over his body when you whine out and nod.
“please! bite me, got those teeth f’r a reason—” you plead, your small hand guiding his face to the crook of your neck. your eagerness makes his cock twitch, your enjoyment paramount to him just as much as claiming his mate for the first time. he abides by your wishes, sinking his teeth into your flesh and clamping down, feeling you do the same around his dick. you moan out, clawing at his back with your own kind of talons. he can’t stop, driving bruises and bloody spots all along your neck and chest. he’d never go too deep even in his lusty haze, his primal instinct to protect his other half would never allow him to cause permanent harm. he admires his work, “pretty mate, my teeth marks.”
he grunts out, gripping your hips and roughly turning you over, grabbing a fistful of your hair to yank you into a deep arch. you scream at the new angle, some blood trickling down your neck and pooling between your breasts. he’s entranced by the shape of your body beneath him, how his hands take up your entire waist and the way your ass ripples as he hammers into you. you’re struggling to hold your body up under the force of his thrusts, gripping the covers beneath you for dear life. he reaches around your hip, locating the sweet bundle of nerves at the apex of your thighs. your hips falter when he presses his touch to your clit, a little sob coming from your lips as you begin to fall apart.
“pretty. coat my cock.” he grunts, cock jumping again as you nod and fall forward, your pussy spasming around him like crazy. he feels the rush of you, sending him shuddering towards his end too. “g’nna take my heirs.” he groans, slamming your hips back into his as he spills into you for the first time.
he pulls out quickly to gather you up in his arms, laying on his back with you protected by the expanse of his chest. you’re incoherent as his seed trickles out of you, and as bewitching as the sight is, he wants you to give him several warrior princes and princesses. so he slides his hands between your legs and chuckles as you jerk when you feel his fingers stuffing his cum back inside. you whine, so sensitive but yearning for all of his touches. he grunts a bit, leaning over to smooth your tousled hair and gently kissing the bruises and shallow wounds he gave you. his kindness touches you, and you relax into his body with a grin, knowing he would hold you to his heart’s content and then have the servants run a bath for the new dragon queen.

Take Her To The Moon | Cassian
Tumblr media
cassian x love witch reader | summary: Curious over what it'd be like to watch Velaris from above like the stars do every night, you ask Cassian to take you flying.
warnings: fluff
word count: a little under 2K
a/n: I already had a flying fic planned for this au and when I saw that Day 1 of @cassianappreciationweek was flying, I thought why not join? This is my first time participating in a character week! and ofc it's last minute, I promise I'll be more prepared next time.
Tumblr media
A canvas of shimmering stars were stretched infinitely above you. Cassian sat beside you, on the rooftop of your shop, his membranous wings folded neatly behind him. Your legs dangled over the edge, the pale moonlight reflecting off your shiny, pink boots. Your eyes were bright as they traced the constellations.
Our child. Our beloved.
Cassian’s head turned to glance at you. “What was that?”
“What was what?”
“The voices.” Cassian replied, a faint furrow appearing on his forehead. Was he going mad? He was sure he had heard them–a distant echo of ancient voices. Yet, you continued to sit beside him, completely unfazed.
So beautiful.
“Oh!” Your eyebrows lifted in realization. Your fingers reached up to brush the earrings you wore, delicate pieces made from the dust shooting stars emitted. “It’s my earrings. They were made from the stars and sometimes speak to me.”
Cassian raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What do they say?"
“They whisper compliments, mostly. Such as the way I'm as radiant as the cosmos, as beautiful as the night sky…”
Yes. Yes.
You tilted your head in amusement, your eyes reflecting the stars above as if they took residence there. A beauty from the cosmos, indeed. Cassian let out a small chuckle, his ears now being able to distinguish those ancient whispers. You grinned at him, leaning back on the palm of your hands, your hair falling gracefully off your shoulders.
“They also whisper other things.” You added. “The stars, they see things we don’t. They’re always there, patient and watching. They know our secrets, our deepest desires. They hear our pleas, you know.”
Cassian’s head tilted upwards, lifting his gaze from you and toward the night sky. The moon was full and beautiful. The stars, eternal and steadfast, winking at him, sharp and bright. A sweet fondness had the corner of his lips tugging up.
“I know.”
A blissful silence enveloped the two of you, both lost in deep thought. Memories of that lonely night swirled in Cassian’s mind—the night he had stood under these very stars, heart full of longing and soul overcome with loneliness. He yearned for someone to gaze up at the stars with, and pleaded with them to send him someone.
A soft sigh escaped you, pulling Cassian from his reverie. His wings fluttered in response, a subtle reminder of the present moment. Perhaps, his pleas had been answered. Because he was gazing up at the stars this very moment with you by his side.
You. Such a bright and beautiful soul. Like a fallen star reborn through the magic of love, and though he hasn’t known you for long, your presence was already illuminating his life in a way he had never imagined.
Take her to the moon.
Cassian's heart skipped a beat, head turning back to you. But you were still fixated on the sky, eyes full of longing, as if you hadn’t heard the whispers of the stars. He wondered what had you so deep in thought and the question was tumbling from his lips.
You blinked, the constellations gracing your cheeks enough for him to see the blush that had settled there. His eyes narrowed briefly. In the the time he’s known you, you have never shown an ounce of shyness.
“The stars are lovely tonight.” You said, dancing around the question. Sensing his gaze on you, you met his eyes, and something lit up in those sparkling eyes of yours. “Want to make a bet?”
“A bet?”
You nodded your head, a bit too eagerly, making him suspicious. Surely, you were plotting something. He could only hope it did not involve any of those pesky little lovebugs you’ve been talking about, another blind date or any more of your love altars.
One day when he had visited your shop, you had suggested for him to light one of the candles to the altar that spoke to him the most and ask for its blessing. He had meant to light one at the altar dedicated to romantic love but Honey, your cat, had brushed against his leg and startled him. He accidentally lit one of the candles from the altar of erotic love.
It would’ve been fine, really. An honest mistake that could’ve gone unnoticed...if it hadn’t for the old fae woman who had chosen to light a candle at that altar not even a heartbeat before him.
“By The Cauldron, I’ve been blessed!” The woman, who could have easily been his great grandmother, had exclaimed as she threw her arms around him. You had to save him, sweetly coaxing the woman and sending her off with a sleeping potion that’d make her dream of her late husband.
You always meant well with your plans, carefully and thoughtfully scheming to bring Cassian closer to what he desired most—true love. But it seemed fate had a different plan, weaving its own tricks into your efforts. Despite your best intentions, your schemes often ended in failure, leading him back to you.
“If I can accurately guess how many stars are shining in the sky tonight, you have to take me flying.”
A small breath of relief escaped from Cassian. Flying was his territory, his expertise. But the stars…He eyed your earrings, gaze narrowing in on them. “That sounds like a bet you won’t lose.”
He caught the way your gaze lingered on his wings, a hint of longing still shimmering within your eyes. Realization dawned on him then. Is that why you had been sneaking glances at his wings earlier?
“Sweetheart,” he chuckled. “If you want me to take you flying, you could just ask, you know.”
“I can't just ask that! I'm shy!"
“You? Shy?” Cassian laughed again, finding the small glare you sent his way amusing. He shook his head in disbelief. There was a moment of silence and then: “So…are you going to ask me or not?”
You took a deep breath, and Cassian took pleasure in the sheepish look on your face, his wings twitching in anticipation. He watched as your mouth parted before shutting again and raised an eyebrow at you.
Then, finally, you said. “Will you take me flying?... Please."
Cassian stared at you, as if considering your words, even though he had already decided on his answer before you could ask the question. You’ve already done so much for him–have given him hope. He would do anything in return for you. He just wanted to tease you further for a bit but the longer he stared at you, the more he began to lose his resolve.
And when you batted your eyelashes at him, inadvertently striking him with your effortless charm, he was a goner. It was now him feeling bashful. Did you have to be so beautiful?
He barely managed to choke out a “yes” before standing. He could’ve sworn he heard raspy sounds coming from your earrings—like a snicker, almost.
˗ˏˋ ★ ★ ˏˋ˗
Cassian’s wings spread out magnificently behind him. He felt the blood rush to his neck at the way you regarded them in awe, stepping forward to admire them more closely. “Beautiful,” you murmured, the stars at your ears whispering in agreement and his wings shuddered at the compliment. “They’re so big. I’m envious.”
“Envious?” Cassian echoed. His chest swelled with pride. You had called them big.
You stepped back, leaving Cassian unsure whether to feel relieved or disappointed. He had anticipated the usual temptation many non-Illyrians succumb to—reaching out to touch his wings. But you hadn’t.
“I always wondered what it’d be like to fly among the clouds and stars, to feel the wind rushing past and see the world from above. That's what I was thinking about earlier...and you can do it so easily with those.”
“It is nice,” Cassian commented thoughtfully.
His wings, though scarred from countless battles and injuries, were one of the things he cherished the most. Each scar told a story of resilience, and he took immense pride in them–in their ability to let him soar through the skies.
And he loved flying. The joy, the exhilarating thrill that coursed through his veins. Flying connected him to his Illyrian heritage but also brought a profound sense of liberation. A way to escape and transcend the limits imposed by the ground and a way to be closer to the stars.
Take her to the moon. He heard those very stars whisper again.
He looked at you, the soft fabric of your ruffled blush top swaying gently in the night breeze. You were patient, hands clasped behind your back.
So with a smile, he said, “Well, what are we waiting for?”
Your eyes sparkled with excitement, and when he gestured for you to come closer, you approached without a word. His hazel eyes, tender and soft, lingered on you, silently asking for your permission. With a nod from you, he bent down slightly. One arm went beneath your knees the other behind your back and then he scooped you into his strong arms.
As you wrapped your arms around his neck, he felt the rapid, eager beat of your heart—a rhythm that matched his own. But his also carried an undercurrent of something deeper, more intense, spurred on by the feeling of you in his arms.
Standing at the edge of the rooftop, he glanced down at you, searching your face for any hint of hesitation or fear. “Ready?”
“Yes.” You replied and he found nothing but your enthusiasm reflected back at him.
His smile widened and he made a show of his wings. They unfurled further behind him in a graceful manner, a delicate sound reminiscent of a sail watching the wind, resonating in the air.
“Hold on tight, sweetheart.”
Your arms tightened around him and then you two were taking off, the ground disappearing beneath you.
˗ˏˋ ★ ★ ˏˋ˗
Your eyes were wide with wonder, the cool night air ruffling your hair as you gazed out at the world below. Moonlight wove silver patterns across the rooftops, and the Sidra River shimmered up at you. As the clouds drifted by, you reached out with a hand, pink magic fluttering from your fingertips. A gasp of delight escaped you as you felt the misty tendrils of the clouds brushing against your skin.
From this height, every scent was vivid—the fresh, earthy aroma of the forest below mingled with the sandalwood warmth enveloping you. It was all a sensory overload that left you breathless, but in the best way possible.
“This is incredible!”
Cassian chuckled but he couldn’t agree more. He was happy to share this joy with you, the powerful rhythm of his wings beating steadily as you soared through the night sky. The world stretched out in every direction, a vast expanse of shadow and light.
It felt as if you were the only two people in existence, suspended between the earth and the stars…and the stars…
The stars seemed so close that you could almost touch them, and your laughter rang out, pure and joyous. Cassian watched you, mesmerized by the radiant joy on your face, pink stardust fluttering around you both. As he flew higher, the moonlight bathed you in a soft glow that made you look as celestial as the stars themselves...
What if you had been that shimmering star he wished upon?
A strange, profound shift occurred within him, causing his wings to falter for a brief moment. You were too absorbed in your wonder to notice, but Cassian’s arms tightened around you, pulling you closer.
He savored the sensation of having you so close, wishing this moment could stretch on forever as the stars did.

The feeling of cool water surrounding you is celestial to say the least, albeit the smell of chlorine that cuts through the small space sharply, it meshes with the fragrance of your shampoo. It’s a dizzying scent if you focus on it too much. You hum to yourself, the enervation that has been clinging to your body amidst your busy schedule for the past couple of days, slowly dissolves, becoming one with the droplets trickling down your skin.
From seemingly long and dreadful red-carpet interviews you watched Jake go through, a couple of runway shows accompanied by your messed up sleeping schedule thanks to the time difference. This relaxing time was much needed.
With the pool having an open rooftop, the moonlight seeps in, illuminating the dark, reflecting against the water as if tiny million diamonds are swimming alongside you. The sight brings a silly smile to crawl up your face. In this moment, your life doesn’t feel as tangible as the warmth spreading throughout your chest.
Your tranquil silence is heckled by the sound of a door sliding open, footsteps following. You swivel your head around, a startled expression overtaking your smile at the sight of Jake. An amused arch of an eyebrow coaxes forth his own surprise upon seeing you.
“Hey?” You speak, swimming closer to him. Your hair slicked back, your face bare of anything and a natural flush settling upon your cheeks. It’s a sight he was not prepared enough to behold stumbling from between his cold sheets.
Hence why it takes longer than essential for your words to penetrate his brain, stretching seconds for him to compose himself.
“I was wondering who the fuck is crazy enough to be swimming at 12 am. Of course it’s our precious bunny.”  He teases, a smile curling at the end of his lips as he sits on one of the lounge chairs, by the edge.
Precious
It’s unfortified, a scarce display of a sentiment that settles right atop your heart, evoking beats mellowed down to a mere hankering for him. It’s simply serendipitous despite the knowledge that you know he doesn’t mean it endearingly, not one bit. Not with the way mischief colors his grin. Yet, your cheeks obliterated with a darker flush, foolishly you could only pray it’s not visible enough for his eyes to catch it.
“I couldn’t sleep.” An all too adorable of smile spreads across your lips, Jake blames it on his lack of sleep as he eyes you wading to him, till you’re close enough to rest your arms upon the side of the pool, a sparkle matches the light emerging from the moon swims in your gaze, your sweet scent invisibly travels all the way to him.
“So, you decided to take a swim in the middle of the night?”
“Mhm.” You relax your chin in the palm of your hand “I had to call Niki as well. I haven’t talked to him ever since we landed in Paris.”
“How is he doing?” he asks, leaning back on the chair and his eyes growing half-lidded as he tips his head back, they’re growing unabashed, lowering over the length of your slender neck.
A knot forms in your stomach at the ferocity.
“He’s alright.” You breathe out, softly.
“Is it morning in Korea?” he asks, chewing on his lower lip and you, with enormous exertion will enough self-control not to let your eyes wander.
“Yeah, I think I called him in the middle of class but oh well.”
“You miss him?”
“a little bit. Is that too loser of me?”  you breath out a giggle, diffidently brushing a strand of your hair away from your face, even though it never moved out of place.
“it’s cute.” He replies, with integrity fettering his words. Your breath hitches ever so slightly, stolen by the fondness coating the air.
It’s a stillness that is unfamiliar yet welcome, twirled with the warmth of your chest and his peace of mind.
“You’re calling me cute?” he rolls his eyes playfully, a smile forcing its way on his face and your giggles turn discordant, evoking the air to sparkle with your effulgence.
“I’m saying you missing your brother is cute.”
“So, I’m not cute?” you push your lips into a pout, a strive to capture fallen praises from his mouth. He leans forward, pressing his index finger into the skin of your forehead, tipping your head back and you follow with ease, a lazy smile climbing up your lips.
“You’re annoying.” He jokes, leaning back in his chair.
“You said it so fondly I’m taking it as a compliment.”
Jake doesn’t say anything back to that, only tilts his head to the side with an enticing simper and you fall into tune with an amicable song. It’s plaited with stares brimming with desire, curls of his smile and the fluttering of your lashes. Induced with your cheeks glowing pink, your heartbeat remains abiding.
A silent movie that unfolds right amidst your eye contact.
“Why aren’t you asleep?”  you ask, a venture in tries to dissipate the tension daunting on you, you tell yourself it’s out of nowhere, yet the look in Jake’s eyes has been as transparent as ever.
Push and pull, a servant to overflowing lust.
It’s instantly deemed a failure when his silence stretches, his eyes are too busy watching you, too patently diverted with how inviting your lips look.
“I don’t know. I just couldn’t sleep for some reason.” he shrugs.
Perhaps it’s the way his pale skin almost glimmers under the moonshine that has your breath hitching. As if stars traveled for years only to disintegrate with enough force upon his first breath into the universe. Amassing atop his skin, in the flickers of shades in his eyes and in-between the black strands of his hair. Even with fatigue staining his undereye, evidence of his tossing and turning in the mess atop his head. Jake remains the most dazzling star you got the chance to behold.
Not dancing along to this all-too-familiar song of allure is impossible. You fall into step way too easily, it’s embedded with the way your own eyes cloud with desire, a bite to your lower lip as you attempt to push your breasts together with an innocent grin, induced with charm. His eyes flit down immediately, tongue darting out to wet his own lips.
“There’s gotta be a reason. Weren’t you pretty tired earlier?”
“Mm.”
“You should relax.”
“Oh? How do you think I should relax?”
“There’s a lot of ways to relax.”
“Like what baby?”
Ah fuck. You don’t expect it and it shows in the way your eyes widen, crushed rose petals traverse across your cheeks and triumphant blooms upon his just as strong. The endearment goes straight to your core. A fire slipping down your folds.
You avert your eyes for a moment in futile attempts to collect your thoughts, to not turn into putty under his stare. He remains ruthless with his intensity, your body growing impossibly hot.
When you look back at him there’s newfound seduction coating your lips, tilting them upwards.
“I don’t know,” you start with a shrug “Maybe you’re just hungry Jake?” Your words spill like candied sweets, melting his tiredness away and rendering his senses awake. His brows raising in pleasant surprise, galvanizing him into leaning forward.
“Famished.” He answers, quickly, no sense of hesitation.
“You should eat then.”
“I should.”
You smile with your eyes before your lips, even with air tinted red with lust. A hue of brightness surrounds you. It does nothing to the way he watches you with undevoted attention as you amble out of the water. You take your time, dawdling past him to grab your towel. The minutes ticking by agonizingly slow as you dry yourself.
His eyes run wild, in their own race against his sinful cravings, trailing all over your body with no shame to hold him back, submerged with ripples of heat, it’s in the fire setting a trail form him to you ablaze. Surging up with beguiling invitation. By the slowness of your hand’s movement, it’s clear you’re holding back your cards, leading with teasing batting of your lashes, darting stares and giggles.
However, tonight Jake has no time for premeditated moves.
He already bared them all on the table.
“Come here bunny.” He says lowly, an order lacing his tone.
“Where?” you ask, faux abstinence has your eyes widening in pureness. He sees past them all, pulling on his own end of desire with a raise of brow at you. Colored with lead that makes your mouth water.
Yet he still lets a chuckle slip, overtaken by merriment. He pats his thigh silently; it is more than enough for you to follow. You trudge towards him, his eyes growing heavier with each step, darkening with a daze of lust.
As soon as you’re within distance, his hand wraps around your hip, his thumb brushing over your tattoo with tenderness that has you exhaling.
“I forgot about this little guy.” He comments, eyes fixated on your hipbone.
“You hurt his feelings.” You retort in a hushed whisper, albeit impishness, you’re closer to stifling on the mere idea of him.
Keeping his gaze interlocked with yours he leisurely inches forward, his other hand curling around your waist and tugging you towards him and you allow it with adroitness dripping from the softening of your fingers pushing through his hair. His lips part marginally, just enough for him to place an open-mouthed kiss right over your tattoo.
“Sorry.” He murmurs halfheartedly, the twitch of his lips should annoy you like it always does and yet you don’t find it in you the same way you don’t find an answer to give back.
You’re mutilated, particles that only ever come together under his diverting touches of adulation.
At your silence, he kisses it again, closing his eyes as if to savor the flavour of your skin, as if decades have managed to mesh within the negligent hours of his workdays since the last time he felt your skin on his lips. It feels closer to that when you let a whimper out, your fingers tightening in his strands as his lips slowly travel up. With bruising kisses akin to infatuation seeping into your skin, whizzing with your blood. he leaves a trail of stardust behind, seared onto your skin with electricity that will surely remain for days.
“Jake.” You moan, overtaken with debility that has him groaning.
As if a coil that snaps, a tempest of lechery he cannot hold back anymore, his hold on you consolidates, his fingers pressing into your flesh as he pulls you to straddle his lap, your arms find his neck naturally and the proximity is enough for him to wave his vanquishment haughtily
“I want you.” He whispers wantonly right atop your lips, his breath reeking of mint and your legs tremble with his honesty.
“You can have me.” you press your chest into him, lust erupts from between your words all the way down to your core.
You collide with feverish force, your lips unfurling almost promptly as his tongue invades your mouth. Your kiss turns messy and wet sinfully quick. His hands are all over your body, on your ass one minute and then your waist only to end up on your breasts, kneading them with the same yearning unfolding within you, it has you grinding down on him.
With desire coating your hands, they slip down his body with their own purpose, slipping past the constrictions of his undergarments, your palm wrapping around his shaft, he groans against your lips and the sound is enough to have your hand moving up and down languidly. It is ample for pleasure to seep into him, breaking from your kiss with a moan. A sound so melodically profaned, your own core shakes all the same.
“fuck” he whispers, resting his forehead against yours and you kneel into reverence with force, kindled with adoring eyes lingering on every expression that passes by him.
Every twist on his face, crinkle of his brows and then the way his eyes catch yours, not stumbling by a blunder but rather with intention. Akin to butterfly wings grazing the softness of petals. Entranced by their beauty and you, with one another, sweetness manages to mesh within all the fissures of ambivalence between you. He manages to stay the prettiest even with pleasure fogging his essence.
His hand encircles your wrist, halting your movements with a bite to his lower lip and you exhale, not realizing you were holding yourself back from breathing in all along.
“Let’s go to my room.” He says, voice a mere whisper with your lips almost touching, your chest heaving. As your eyes dart between his darkening orbs and his mouth, you nod.
Your appetency to feel his body against yours, and his greed for your mewls to spill into him overwhelm every other sensation with vigor, painting the inside of your mind with emptiness, induced with echoes of need for him. It all unwinds between his sheets and his hips moving against yours, with lust drunk kisses and stares that stretch way too long to be deemed appropriate for the relationship you two have.
You don’t allow yourself to dwell on it, even when Jake kisses trail from your lips to your cheeks with delicacy dusting them before he rolls off you.
After the both of you are showered, you learn on the doorframe of his bathroom, in a bathrobe and watch as Jake gets dressed in alleviated movement. He turns to face you, no usual disquiet etched onto his features. Instead, his skin glows brighter with city lights from his window.
“You wanna eat together?” you open your mouth to answer, yet before your words even manage to exist, your stomach grumbles, the sound cutting through the air forcefully.
He chuckles and your cheeks grow warm, with adorable discomfiture.
“I’m really hungry.” You smile.
“Me too.”
Jake ends up ordering room service, despite the late hour you’re guessing it’s one of the privileges you get when you’re the most famous person in Korea. With a table full of food separating you. Your chatter fills the room, with gleaming eyes and a beam on your face, your words unraveling parts of your past with funny situations and random pictures you had of your friends. Jake listens fastidiously, with seemingly uprunning attention and nods when it’s imperative.
“This was at Niki’s last birthday party. Wonie got so drunk there’s a not a silly thing that could cross your mind that he didn’t do,” you explain with a soft laugh, showing him the video, you took a few months back, falling into the warmth of nostalgia.
“Wait who’s that? Next to Ryujin.” he asks, fingers pointing at your screen.
“Oh, that’s Heeseung.”
“He looks different in everything you show me I swear.”
“Really? I feel like he looks the same.” You retort with an endearing giggle, one that has him clearing his throat as you scroll through your cameraroll “Maybe it’s the hair. He dyes it a lot.” You murmur, more to yourself as you tilt your head at the screen of your phone.
“Is he the one who gave you the alien tattoo?”
“Yes.” You groan, covering your face with your palm. It has a fond smile spreading across his face.
“What’s all that about anyways?”
“It was a stupid fucking bet.”
“Mm. tell me. I’m intrigued.”
You stare at him with dewy widened eyes, pulling your lips into a pout saturated with desires to run away. It does little to nothing to grate through his façade, it stays unwavering as he arches an eyebrow at you, scuttling gaze and you sigh. Knowing you’re cornered.
“I don’t want you to laugh at me.” You whine, a glisten takes place between your lashes, it evokes his fondness to enlarge.
“I won’t.”
“you’re already smiling,” your pout deepens, and his smile only stretches.
“Tell me.” you sigh with defeat.
“Basically, there was this guy I was obsessed with back in highschool. So, me and Heeseung made a bet that if I confessed to him in front of everyone, he’s gonna give me money.”
“How much?”
“Damn. And the tattoo?”
“He said if I lost, he’d tattoo that stupid toy story alien on me. I thought there’s no way I’m losing so of course I agreed. Besides I had heard stuff about how the guy also likes me so I thought this should be easy.”
“Okay? What happened then?” you sigh, bracing yourself for the heat already crawling up the length of your neck with immense speed.
“I ended up confessing to the wrong guy.” You admit, looking at him through your lashes, Jake’s expression drops, crossing his arms atop his chest.
“You confessed to the wrong guy?” you nod, and he lets out an exhale of a chortle, crossing all the way to your chest and spreading just like you imagine an angel’s wings to unbosom “How?”
“They looked the same from the back. And I just went up to him and spilled the contents of my heart and you know what’s the worst thing about it?”
“Yeah?”
“It was during lunch time and in the middle of cafeteria, so everyone heard me.” you grouse, the embarrassment of the situation clambering over you all the same.
“So, you humiliated yourself and managed to get a shitty tattoo all at once?”
“Pretty much.” You answer with a chuckle.
A short silence settles, not twisted with excruciating awkwardness but rather a pleasant warmth, like the feeling of sunrays upon your skin after a dreadful cruel winter. It’s in the way Jake’s freshly clean hair falls over his eyes as he looks at you. It’s seraphic, enough to have you falling breathless, yet you don’t find the urge to run away from his gaze in you. Conjuring up enough gallantry to envelope his atoms with the affability of your smile.
His eyes dart down to your plate, a frown taking over his face at the sight of it being empty.
“Eat bunny. Who do you think I got this food for?” He berates with a tsk, adding pieces of steak onto your plate and you watch with amusement clinging to your features.
“You didn’t need to order this much.” You comment, digging into your food regardless.
“I told you I was hungry.” He replies, adding steamed vegetables onto your plate as well “Your diet is so shit. Have some veggies.”
“Excuse me? my diet is not shit- oh my god stop adding so much I can’t eat all of this Jake!” Giggles erupt from between your lips, amid bites you cover your mouth with the back of your hand.
“It is shit. All you have is sugar and coffee.” He falls back into his seat, bestowing you some mercy and leaving your plate alone.
“I have other stuff.”
He hums, resting his chin upon the heart of his palm. Watching as you indulge into your food with a smile of joy overriding your antecedent stubbornness.
“Why do you love sweets so much?” he asks after a while, after he has given you enough minutes to chew a good chunk of your plate.
“I don’t have a specific reason. It’s like my comfort amidst the chaos of life.”
Comfort. It tumbles out your mouth so easily, unrestricted by the shackles of hardship yet it reverberates with crudeness throughout the nooks of his brain, tastes pungent on his tongue. Nevertheless, it swirls in his mind with prodding questions. It translates into his gaze fogging up. Nebulous with conjectures if comfort were in the cards for him.
Surprisingly, you seem to be catching on to his telltales of running eyes and busy brain, as you pretend to pick your fork, your hand brushes against his briefly, akin to the feeling of Forget me nots on the tips of his finger. Like spring, warmth on the contrary to the coldness of his soul. It’s enough to bring him back to you. Eyes focused as they flit between your hand and your face.
“Do you have something like that?”
“Like that?”
You look out the huge window and Jake’s eyes stay on you, the marvelous city lights reflect upon your face, a sparkle manifesting in your eyes that is just as bright. As if every speck that is meant to shine only ever does so for you. it’s only evoked by the smile knitted with the rapture of existing on your face. It’s a little unjust – Jake feels, the realization that no matter what city he ends up in, no matter what roof he’s under and what kind of flavors on his tongue you’ll remain extravagant.
“Something that brings you comfort. when the world gets too loud, where do you find your silence?” You continue after a few seconds of quietness.
“I don’t think I have that.” He answers honestly.
There’s a rare vulnerability coating his words, cladding his being, it’s in the way the words fall from his lips, in the way he looks at you and it’s enough for you look back at him with similar vulnerability. The softening of your gaze does not summon his impulses to the surface. He doesn’t feel like running, instead he settles, right under Sakura petals. with a bated breath and you with a stirring heart that comes to life with emotions twinging into something much deeper than sexual attraction.
“Do you believe in hope?” you’re acutely aware of the confusion that fills his being at your question, raking through his mind for an answer that would make enough sense, deemed sane enough to give.
Please let me in you want to tell him don’t hide yourself from me you wish to speak yet you’re aware of the vow you’ve made. Of keeping yourself in check, never too far in. not this time.
“I don’t remember what hope feels like.” He starts, eyes flickering between yours and your chest tightens, not necessarily out of pity but rather as if a mirror had metalized and you’re looking at yourself. Relics of a human who has been too scratched up to recall anything else. There’s nothing as heavy as carrying around a bruised heart and more than anyone, you have memorized the weight.
“What is your hope like?” he asks, tilting his head at you with full attentiveness and your lips tilt up into a gentle smile, one that feels like soothing waves of comfort upon his heart.
“My hope is a lot of things.” You breathe out a chuckle “My hope is seeing Niki happy and healthy. My hope is seeing people’s worries flee their eyes when you help them with something or seeing the flowers I’ve been watering finally come to full bloom right under my gaze.” You trail off sheepishly, your smile growing the more words spill from your mouth “My biggest hope remains in Japan.”
“Japan?” he asks, and you nod along.
“I want to open a bakery in Japen. A cute little, small one where I sell my baked goods and I get to witness people’s smile upon their first bite.” Jake sees it all in your face and in your words – the pure euphoria that comes solely from dreaming. Not in desperate attempts to find happiness in melancholic hours of your everyday life but rather while floating away alongside the clouds, elicited by what could have been and what could be.
It is a little foolish, he finds it to be. He had long given up on looking for what cannot be tangible, what he cannot sense between the grasp of his fingers. Yet within his dark sky a singular gleaming star is born, sparkling into life and it is merely coaxed by the way you’re looking at him right now.
“That sounds magical bunny.” He comments and it’s genuine, coloring every letter yet for unascertained reasons you find yourself longing to give him touches of your magic.
Though deprived of unbridled happiness. You don’t recall moments when you got to enjoy crumbs of gaiety without worries of tomorrow or the future invading your mind. Hence dreaming, hope remains a taste of joy amidst the bitterness that comes with living and growing older.
You can’t help but grow a want to give him the same hope.
“If you could do anything you want do right now, without consequences and without worries,” you start, voice much quieter than before “what would it be?”
He is silent for a moment, his eyes drifting to the window and this time it’s you with a lingering gaze at him, overtaken by the glaze of his irises.
“I want to be able to love music like I used to.”
Aleit the months you have spent by his side, beholding the facets he likes to wear and witnessing the rare moments where it’s just him. Right at this moment, it’s just Jake and his grief. Tinted with a glacial agony that only comes from forcibly letting go of love. For them to pull your heart out from the unrelenting clutches of your hands, and yet you’re empty handed.
A glacial agony that runs through your bloodline just as deep.
“Can’t that be your hope?”
“No.” he laughs swiftly, but it’s void of emotions, not a spark of humor can be distinguished, no happiness “Music can never be my hope. Not again.”
“Why?” you ask, tentatively “Why can’t you love music the same way you did?”
Jake never gives you an answer, he isn’t unkind in any way, not vicious in any sense. He is as placid as still waters, nowhere near as wild as your heartbeat as he smiles at you, it’s benign.
can't you see the human in my being? the same one clad with agonizing torment? the one with scars that are deeper than i could ever show?
“Should we go to sleep? We have a long day tomorrow.”
Your conversation with Jake haunts your mind for much longer than you anticipated. When you lie your head on your pillow you don’t drift to sleep like you had hoped. Instead, you stay awake for a little longer while thinking about his words. They all lead you to more questions. After seeing the amount of crowd that had been waiting for him at the airport you realize he is truly Korea’s biggest celebrity so what exactly happened for him to leave Paranoia? How did he end up here with clear longing for music? What is stopping him? And why does everyone around him seem to be ignoring his clear symptoms of OCD?
Nothing makes sense to you, not him or the people you’re working with. Most importantly the ache that has nestled in your chest at the way he smiled at you stays the most confusing.
You tell yourself you should look up Paranoia, yet you end up falling asleep with your phone between the clutches of your hands.
The next morning comes with a gentle breeze swirling the streets of Paris, taking your thoughts away with the passing wind and the ache that was present last night is long perished, eluded by Jake’s mitigated face that greets you as soon as you’re downstairs. Your sleepiness long forgotten as you lock eyes. His warmth traverses through all the space you create between you as you settle two chairs away from him. Right next to Sunghoon who greets you with a fist bump.
Albeit the unfamiliarity, you find yourself smiling down at your plate.
You and Jay go through Jake’s schedule together. With him not having anything till a Prada event that is set later that evening, it feels more like an off day than anything. As the team gathers to eat breakfast Jennie tells you’re free to do whatever you want all morning.
Sunghoon and Sunoo decide to go back to sleep while Jay grumbles about promises he made with Soojin. It’s only you and Jake. Despite Jennie’s assurance to you that you could spend the day alone if you wanted to. You deemed that to be way too lonely, and boresome for you.
And so, you end up sticking to Jake’s side as he strolls through the city, with an undeniable joy woven into his features, in the steps he takes. It’s a refreshing sight to behold. Has the same joy nestling into you, overtaken and completely dismantling any negative thoughts you had. You never imagined a day to come like this one. Where you’ll able to see him so carefree, smiles find home onto his lips easier, laughs escapes him candidly.
Albeit the couple of bodyguards and a cameraman following you around - something about filming a vlog for Hype’s youtube channel – he looks the happiest you’ve ever seen him. You keep your distance, not wanting to disturb or get caught on camera on accident.
Never too far in. you remind yourself.
It’s only after you pass by a couple of bakeries that the small group of his team stops moving, therefore halting your steps as well. You, overtaken with confusion watch as slowly they separate, as if drawing a path for you and at the end Jake is standing there, waiting for you with a lopsided smile, induced with charm as he beckons you with a wave of his hand.
“Come here, bunny.”  With a racing heart, limbs traced with chagrin at everyone’s eyes on you, you walk to him.
As soon as you’re close enough, his palm envelopes yours with a tug, it is so abrupt, you don’t get enough time to settle into the feeling. Of having him this close to you outside the realms of his bedroom before he pulls you into one of the bakeries. It is so unexpected, and that is solely why your heartbeats are so loud it rings in your ear. Or at least that’s what you tell yourself, even after Jake had ordered three different kinds of pastries and urges you to try each one.
“How does it t taste?” He asks, as you’re standing outside, and his eyes are pasted onto you.
A dark flush seems to have found perennial refuge upon your cheeks, an exposure to all the clamorous beats coursing through your chest, as if your heart is about to ooze through your blush, you chew slowly on the cream cheese Danish, it feels like an explosion of flavours in your mouth. The cream cheese balances the sweetness and the berries on top give it freshness.
It has your eyes widening with an all too known gleam, excitement courses through your body and you hop your feet in place as you face him.
“It’s really yummy!” You reply with evident enthusiasm tinting your voice, awakening his own.
“Let me try.” He tells you, lips curling up into a grin, an underlining endearment at your reaction.
You nod eagerly, just as you’re about to cut the piece of goods in half with the assumption that he probably doesn’t want to eat from the same place your mouth has touched, his hand encircles your wrist, a phantom of gasp scurrying out your lips as he guides your hand with the Danish in it to his mouth, you’re forced to stand on your tiptoes as he takes a bite.
Your heart pulsates against your ribcage, watching him with incredulity all over your face.
Unlike you, Jake is completely nonchalant to the way he acts, instead his eyebrow only raises slightly at the taste.
“y-you don’t like it?”
“It’s okay.” He shrugs and you snort playfully, shaking your head as his grip loosens around your wrist.
“I forgot you’re like impossible to please.”
“It’s not that. I just think yours taste better.”
“Mine?”
“Yeah, the stuff you make taste so much better.”
His words shatter through your vow with facility. Dispelling the promises you repeated to yourself as if they’re mere specks of dust. You don’t have enough of stability to focus on what fact first, the one where he admits he has been eating your baked goods that you bring to work all along or the one where he spills compliments into you as if they’re meaningless, as if their sentiment doesn’t overwhelm your being.
“Stop lying.” You whisper, eyes fixated on him.
“I never lie, you know this.” He says, effortlessly “try a different one.” He urges, pointing at the leftover pastries.
Absentmindedly you nod, with flushed cheeks and an increasing heartbeat. A heat seared with a circle around your wrist as if his hand is still around you. Despite his touches that you have felt upon your skin, in ways deeper than you’d ever admit outside the walls of his bedroom. Unwittingly your body makes room for one more sentiment to nestle into you. Not with force, but rather serene.
The same one that fills the tips of your fingers as you this time extend your hand to him, he leans down, eyes locked with yours as he takes a bite from the dessert, right over where your lipstick stained.
“This one taste better.” He hums, and you swallow around nothing, deeming yourself closer to demented with the way you keep staring at his lips.
“I like the other one more.”
“Probably because it’s sweeter.” He chuckles, swiping right at the corner of your lips with his thumb, you almost shriek with an itch to curl onto yourself “Your lipstick was a little messed up.”
“Thanks.” You mumble, inadvertently bringing your fingers to your lips right where he touched.
The following hours unfold with you two going in and out of stores. With notorious intentions like buying gifts for your friends or simply to check out something that managed to catch your attention. Jake follows with a small smile gracing his face, mainly at your overflowing exuberance as you drag him from one place to another.
“What do you think?” you ask, looking into the mirror, a light brown coat draped over you.
Jake hums, crossing his arms over his chest as his eyes trail over your figure. At the lack of appease in his gaze, you face him, grinning at him and twirling around “So?” You urge, and he could only shake his head with a soft laugh, amused by the way you seem to pull it from him unequivocally.
“It’s cute bunny,”
“But?”
“But I think the baby blue would suit your skin tone so much more. This brings a gloomy and serious aura to you.” He adds.
“But I wanna be serious.” You mumble, turning to the mirror with a pout adorning your face.
Jake tips his head to the side, hands in his pockets as his eyes focus on you. primarily you end up trying the baby blue one and just like he said, it suits you so much better, bringing out the colors in your eyes rather than dim them.
“I like it!” you clap your hands diligently, perked up compared to when you tried the one before.
“Get it.” He encourages and you would have nodded eagerly if not your eyes have shifted in the mirror, your attention stolen by a pair of earrings, a different type of gleam takes place onto your face, one that is never directed at yourself.
“Oh my god Niki would love these earrings!”
Jake watches as you shrug off your coat, long forgotten as you make your way to check out the jewelry that had caught your attention. Aleit disappointed he isn’t surprised; he had noticed this tendency of yours coming to the surface all day. Managing to find something worthy to buy for your friends in every store the two of you had stumbled in. anyone but yourself it seems.
Putting yourself as the last resort appears to come to you naturally, constantly at the back of your mind is your own enjoyment, finding it elsewhere and it merely exists in spending your money on other people. Truthfully it did infuriate him more than he’d ever admit. For some odd reason something akin to disillusionment curls into the bit of his stomach each time he watches you casting aside a piece you originally were enthralled with.
Abandoning yourself then leaving with the waves with no intention of coming back.
He strolls behind you leisurely, eyeing the pieces of jewelry and pauses in front of a certain necklace. A sliver chain with a bunny to be specific, it’s rather simple yet the pure design of the bunny has a small smile stretching upon his face. It’s uncanny similarity to you has him purchasing the necklace without much thought and it isn’t until he’s at the cashier paying, he realizes he foolishly followed his impulses.
Who is he to gift you something as endearing as a necklace that reminds him of you? it’s absolutely ridiculous.
“What did you get?” you ask once you’re out the store, eyeing the small bag between his hands.
“Nothing important.” He replies, averting his eyes as he attempts to hide the bag behind his legs. It’s a clear indication of running, an avoidance that you allow. Nodding to yourself.
Never too far in.
It’s only a bit later when you’re both drawn in by a crowd that you catch yourself too far in, Jake stops, with a wandering gaze pasting onto a busker, playing in the middle of people with immense enthusiasm, it’s the passion coloring his gaze and the smile stretching upon his face as if the sun has only rose today for his music to fill the streets. You’re not taken away by his tunes rather by the man standing next to you.
Involuntarily your eyes dart over Jake’s face earnestly to find answers, His eyes are softened, tinged with longing, yearning. One like missing an old friend that you have spent countless nights with, or a soul crushing longing for an old lover that you cannot longer see, touch. The ache a soldier feels for one day to come back home.
Despite the love, pain remains a constant in every single one and you see it in his gaze.
Silently you walk to place money into the busker’s hat, and he throws you a thankful grin. Jake watches you with a gentle smile, a foreign warmth engulfing his being as you walk back to him, you with a craving dripping from your fingertips, one to disassemble his intricate sorrows and him for the veneration infiltrating his bosom at how effortlessly kind you are.
“Should we go back to hotel?”
“Yeah. let’s go back.” You reply with a smile of your own, adoring your face.
The Prada event, unlike the last one, goes by fluidly with Jake’s glamour taking by the cameras and you stand close by, with a hushed secret curled into the palms of your hands. One stroke of glimmer amid the silence in your mind as you watch him. It’s akin to privilege at knowing no lens, no matter the price could ever capture his beauty the way your eyes do. like given the pleasure to behold the flutter of colorful butterfly wings for the first time, you smile faintly to yourself.
The afterparty that follows goes just as lithely, alongside the buzz in your system due to the couple of shots you took. You feel great, dancing with Sunoo and Sunghoon to the blaring music. It’s only an hour later, when a thin sheen of sweat covers your neck that you take a seat right next to Jay. Your eyes heedfully searching the place for a glimpse of your boss.
“Where’s Jake?” you finally ask, turning to face the latter.
“He went back to the hotel.” He answers, “He also told me you should enjoy yourself and don’t worry about going back early for him.”
“I forgot he doesn’t really like parties.” You comment, your fingers picking at your red latex dress. A vague disappointment blooms ever so slightly in you, tracing your veins merely driven by the fact that Jake isn’t here to see it.
“Yeah, not really his scene.” Jay answers with a breath of a chuckle.
At that you perk up, your disappointment is momentarily pushed to the side as an idea swirl in your mind. Coming to life by the questions that have haunted your mind the previous night
“I never would have thought that an ex-rockstar hates parties.” You comment, clearing your throat as you side eye him.
“He’s gone to enough parties to last a lifetime. Now he’s like an old man when it comes to late nights. He’d rather sleep early or stay home.” Jay replies with a shrug.
“Was he that wild in Paranoia?”
“I wouldn’t say wild but more like normal rockstar wild, you know?” He answers vaguely and it only feeds your confusion, filling you with even more prodding questions.
You chew on your bottom lip, contemplating on what to say next. Perhaps it was the alcohol in your system, blurring your filter into nonexistence or it was the curiosity invoked in you by your conversation last night. Or maybe it was the grief haunting Jake’s essence, as if skin draped upon his bones and he cannot seem to take it off.
“Can I talk to you about something?” you ask, and as he leans closer to you to hear you clearly, amidst the chimes of music you ponder for a second if this is the suitable place for you to obtain answers.
“Anything.” He replies right away, and you inch closer, your shoulders touching.
“Throughout my stay with Jake these past few months I’ve noticed some things.”
“Okay? Like what?”
“I’ve been with him almost every second of his everyday life and I’ve noticed that he has some serious OCD symptoms,” Jay falls into a nerve wrecking silence for you, it’s ample for the seeds of doubts in your mind to grow horrendously brisk “I’m sorry if I’m overstepping or perhaps saying something I shouldn’t. my concerns only come from worry for him.” You continue, your eyes darting over his features rapidly in search of a sign.
“It’s okay yn, I know.” he responds.
“You know?” you question, a frown taking over your face quickly.
“Yeah,” He sighs, as if it’s a secret that have finally broke into the world although it’s only you who listens, its existence hangs heavy “It’s pretty obvious if you know him well enough that he has undiagnosed OCD or something along those lines. He probably even knows it at this point.”
“At this point? If you had doubts, why didn’t you suggest he goes to therapy? Surely that would make everything easier for him.”  Your frown is only enhanced by your growing questions.
“I have. But he doesn’t want to so I’m not gonna make him.”
“But why?”
“Because he would have to talk about what he doesn’t want to relive yet. And I cannot blame him for that or take it away from him.”
But what is it that he doesn’t wish to relive? What kind of misery has been casted upon his soul for his wish to flee to remain? An inexorable desire draped with facet of darkness.
“doesn’t that make it harder for you as well?”
“yn he’s not incompetent. You’ve noticed how he deals with and alters his triggers so he’s able to function normally,” he starts, eyes pouring into yours with conviction, a strive to plug out your doubts with vigor “I’m his manager but I’ve been his best friend for years. I trust him and when he does eventually deem himself ready to see someone about it then good for him.” His lips swiftly curl up into a gentle smile as if trying to dismantle your worries “right now he’s handling it really well considering everything and we could only have his back throughout it all.”
Your words wither at the tip of your tongue, not with incentives like contentment but rather with realization that what lies in front of you is something much more tremendous than you thought. It isn’t solved by scratching the surface or a few shared words of comfort between souls. It is attempting to free your closet of skeletons but to cower in fear every time your fingers graze the doorknob. It’s to spend every breathing moment in searching for light only for night to persist, for tears to descend upon your cheeks even after swearing to find happiness in the trivial things.
It’s an anomaly, constantly growing the need to abandon your heart, merely because it bears too heavy, too much.
You understand more than anyone.
So, you stay quiet.
With an ache dragging through your limbs, you make it into your room with a sigh. You immediately throw yourself on the bed as soon as your heels are off. Yet you don’t get to settle into the softness of your sheets before a thud captures your attention. With a furrow you peak at the ground and notice a small bag that you surely didn’t buy has fallen.
You forthwith sit up recognizing it as the bag that was between the clutches of Jake’s hands earlier. your tiredness replaced with an intrigued gleam as you open the bag.
What greets you is not something you have prepared for, not with a hazy mind and surely not with a heart as fragile as yours, it trembles with the scent enveloping the box. His scent. it courses through your being with vivacity, one that has your eyes widening as a necklace with a small bunny pendant stares right back at you.
Your fingers caress the bunny softly, the same way your eyebrows drop and interchangeable from the feelings creasing your being, running alongside your blood is nothing far from adoration. It’s in the way your chest warms with magnificent vehemence. As if the sun has finally shone after years of unwavering cloudiness, sunrays sundering through and it all translates into a smile dispersing across your lips, mostly uninvited.
Taking note of the card hiding in the bag, you take it out and read it.
For whenever your hope wavers
May this bunny help liquidate all your worries.
Your lips curve up in a smile induced with the magnitude of his words, albeit they’re not long they still touch your soul with warmth, evident with the way your irises shake with your heartbeat as they trail over the words over and over again. Placing your palm upon your heart you feel it reverberate, and you let yourself sink into the feeling. Abandoning the confines of the past, of what’s morally correct and what you should do. For tonight and maybe tonight only you allow yourself to feel, for your frail heart to find purpose in such minuscule words and for Jake’ scent to invade every fiber of your being with serene.
You allow yourself to reach for your phone, your fingers scrolling through the contacts, and you call him.
Jake answers on the third ring.
“Hello?” his voice is a tad deeper on the phone, enough to have you sucking in a breath “bunny?” he calls after your silence has lasted.
“Thank you.” you whisper softly.
“Mhm?”
“For the gift. It’s so pretty Jake, I love it.” Despite the fact that he can’t see your face, he can discern your sincerity through the cadence of your voice. It is enough for him to fall silent for a couple of minutes, listening to you breathe.
“How was the party?” he finally asks, evading your previous conversation.
“Really fun!” your usual liveliness is sneaking back into your voice and it has him smiling “I’m a bit tipsy I’m gonna be honest.” You continue, throwing your head back onto the pillows with a sigh.
“Yeah, Sunghoon sent me a video of you dancing.”
“What? Oh my god!” you exclaim, burying yourself into the pillows with a whine, albeit a bit childish, strangely it doesn’t annoy him, growing accustomed to your antics.
“You got some sick moves yn.” He quips.
“I’m gonna kill Sunghoon.” You grumble, words muffled by the pillow but audible enough for him to chuckle, the sound goes straight to your tummy, breathing life into butterflies to flap their wings “I probably looked like a mess too.” You trail off, turning on your back.
“You always look beautiful.” He retorts, softly and despite giving permission for your feelings to unfold, your being isn’t ready for his first words of flattery to fall upon your ears.
It has your breath hitching audibly, a shift in the air as you squeeze your thighs together.
“Don’t let it get to your head though.” He taunts, taking note of your lingering silence.
“I won’t don’t worry. I’m not Jake Sim.”
“I’m the humblest celebrity to exist what are you on about?”
“You just called yourself a celebrity you’re not humble in any way.” You reply with a snort.
“That’s just facts.”
“Just like how you’re full of yourself is facts?” you muse, rolling onto your side and yet finding yourself squeezing your thighs together at the chuckle he lets loose.
“Since when were you allowed to tease me this much, mhm?” he replies, tone dropping lower with volume, his playfulness is still apparent, it feels closer to warning, one that is whispered before his teeth sink in to you.
“My apologizes boss.” You say, with an evident irony coloring your tone.
A tranquil silence follows, woven with your placid mind yet raving heartbeat. It’s a paradoxical state to be in, especially with how hazy your thoughts are coming out to be. It doesn’t give you room to decipher the reason behind lust climbing up your spine and taking over every coherent sentence you could mutter. It is absolutely unhinged how even the sound of his breathing reminds you of his mouth pressed against your ear as he’s buried deep inside of you.
“You should get some sleep, or you’ll probably feel like shit in the morning,” his voice cuts through your quietness with vigor albeit its lower tone, settles deeper into your being, painting the inside of your brain dark with desire.
“Probably.” You reply breathlessly, eyes dropping, heavy lidded.
“you okay?”
Snapping yourself out of a daze is a strenuous task, one that you are too fatigued for and yet you try, clearing your throat.
“Yeah, just got a lot on my mind. You’re right I should sleep.”
“What are you thinking about?” his voice no higher than a whisper, as if he also could read the contents of your mind, take a look into all the aberrant fantasies manifesting.
“Nothing. You should go to sleep as well.”
“What’s on your mind bunny?” It’s no longer a question rather an order, induced with his stern tone and it has you falling apart in all the same ways he knows, all the same ways you hate.
“You.” you admit with a whisper, as if your embarrassment will subside yet your blush remains.
“What about me baby?”
“You can’t call me that.” You whine, unwittingly burying your face into the pillow yet again, your thighs rubbing together with hopes to relief some of the heat crawling over your being
“You hate it?” he asks with a bated breath, a small victory in knowing you’re not the only one affected by this.
“no.” your voice fades out, overtaken by your heaving chest “Do you like it?”
“Jake.” You don’t mean to be as whiney, yet they spill uncontrollably.
“Tell me.” he demands, oozing with paramountcy there’s no other possible way for you not to fall into him with submission.
“..I like it.” You breathe out, your underwear drenching with your arousal unfairly fast, it has you chewing on your lower lip, your fingers trail an invisible path on your thigh.
“What were you thinking about bunny?” he asks, the same arousal flooding his being, persevering in tainting you both.
“Just you, all over me.” you reply, your words falling with hushed whispers, bated breaths.
“What do you want all over you?”
“Your hands.”
“Where do you want my hands?” his questions stay persisting, It has you squirming upon your sheets unsure if you’re looking for an escape or for his voice to seep into you. He hums when you’re too quiet, urging for your words to follow and you swallow around nothing.
“Want them inside of me.”
“Yeah? what about my mouth?” his own voice grows strained, evidence of his fingers trembling against the rails of control.
“Want it too. Want it so bad.” Your confession falls boundlessly, no time for them to straggle by your deepening blush
“I wanna taste you too. Want you to come all over my tongue.” The mewl you let out at his words is unanticipatedly sinful, enough to have him groaning. A myriad of pictures flash in your mind, each one of them has him in it, infused with deviant touches and lustful kisses.
“Are you touching yourself?” his tone is gentle, a muzzled mutter in contrast to the situation you both found yourself in, you shake your head vigorously even though he cannot see you, you aren’t sure how is it possible for something as trivial as the lilt of someone’s tone to permeate your being this diligently.
“No but I want to.” Your filter is long shattered, your desires spill with nothing holding them back now.
“Don’t” he warns, and you bite back a whimper, swallow it down with vigor “I’m coming to your room. Wait for me.” He ends with a promise, snapping you out of your dazed enjoyment.
“Hurry.”
Is your last request before your call ends. With an itch in your fingers, you hold back with an immense force you don’t know how you manage to find. That is until ten minutes pass with no sign of Jake and soon after the ten minutes turn into fifteen, you roll off your bed with a huff, mind running a little wild with worry at his absence and an underlining exasperation at your lust being unattended to.
And so, you make your way to his room, albeit the throb of tiredness still evident in your bones, you knock on his door with too much of a force to deemed discreet. You don’t get to linger for hope, one like praying you didn’t disturb anyone else. Before the door opens, a somewhat disheveled Jake comes into view. The first few buttons of his white dress shirt in unattended to, exposing the top of his chest and perhaps you spend way too many fleeting moments staring.
“Bunny- fuck” he breaths out with a draining groan.
“Is everything okay? You said you were coming but- “before your sentence could fully come out your mouth, your eyes shift, darting to the figure behind him and your expression melts off vastly unexpected.
“Jake! Come back!” Soojin yells with a whine, kicking her feet on the ground as she trashes around the bed, discernibly drunk.
“Is she okay?” you ask, eyes fliting between the two.
“She’s just drunk and a little troubled.” He explains warily, running his hand through his hair “I’m sorry about this I’ll make it up to you later, okay? I- “
“Jake!!” Soojin whine cuts into your conversation once again and your smile curl up with force “I’m coming” he retorts, turning his head at her for a moment before facing you once again “I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay. Is there anything I could do to help?” you ask, concern etched upon your face and the sight warms his chest the tiniest bit.
“Not really. It’s something between me and her so you don’t have to worry about it.” He explains.
Between me and her.
It’s unjust, how hastily a couple of words can founderwith your confidence with so little effort, for them to dispel every emotion that was flowing through your veins and an abyss to comes to life in the middle of your chest instead. Your star unceremoniously plugged out from between the grasp of your fingers only for you to recognize it was never your star to begin with, your sky is not yours either, it is one everyone was looking at all along, inscribed with the same longing twirling in your eyes.
Your paralyzing idiocy remains a part of you and your insecurity stares right back at you with derision, how stupid to ever think of yourself worthy enough of anything ever fluorescing scarcely for you.
“I’m sorry bunny. I promise to make it up to you.” he pledges, and your eyes soften despite the heaviness weighing your heart.
“it’s okay. I’ll leave you to it then.” Just as you’re about to turn around to leave, Jake’s palm envelopes yours, halting your movement and you look at him in question.
“Can you please keep this a secret from Jay as well? I don’t want him to know about this.” His words twist the knife deeper into your heart, a puddle of your misery lies beneath your feet.
“I get it. It’s between you two I won’t tell anyone.” Your smile is strained, and your nails dig into his palm unwittingly.
You return to your bed heavier than you left. Heeseung’s comfort from a couple of weeks ago swirls around your mind and you manage to find solace in them. Albeit momentarily it’s ample for you to doze off, head plagued with thoughts of Jake and Soojin. As your interest has seemed to grow immensely in him during this trip you can’t help but let your thoughts wander. Evoked by what kind of past the two must have. You can’t help but feel like Jake has some sort of affection towards her, one that he cannot seem to let go of. An old flame that you always end up crawling back to although the burns adoring your skin.
The next morning comes with a minor ache forming in your head, not too bothersome and it slowly wears off as you shower and get ready for your day, it’s only when you’re in the middle of your make-up that a knock on your room door halts your routine. Surprise sneaking into your expression when you open it, and Jake is standing there. You invite him in after he greets you and he ends up sitting on your bed as you finish the last bit of your make-up. Eyes dark as they assess your body appreciatively, watching with devoted concentration as you apply your lip-gloss on.
“Can you help me?” you ask coyly, catching his eyes in the reflection of the mirror, your bunny necklace between your fingers.
“Of course.” Jake replies instantly, voice doused in emotions as he walks towards you.
“How’s Soojin?” you ask once he’s close enough, handing him the necklace.
“She’s all good now don’t worry.” He answers, although his tone is massively void, clearly uninterested.
you move your hair to the side and out of the way, his fingertips delicately brush over the skin of your neck, causing shivers to erupt upon your skin as he gently clasps the necklace, you could sense something unfurling in the depths of your stomach. You feel his chest against your back, every inhale, exhale vibrates through your being all the same. You lock gazes in the mirror, and you wither away, akin to dried autumn leaves, easily crushed by the force of his eyes as he slowly leans down, placing feather light kisses on the nape of your neck.
“Did you guys figure out whatever it was between you and her?” you breath out, tilting your neck further to grant him better access, his hands sneaking to your waist as he pulls you flush against him.
“Mhm.” His kisses turn unforgiving, melting your thoughts.
“W-what is it that you guys were talking about anyways?” your curiosity in unrelenting, pushing at the roof of your mouth with force.
“I don’t wanna talk about Soojin right now bunny. It’s nothing of importance.” He grumbles against your skin, dousing you in arousal as his lips trail up, kissing behind your ears and you shiver “I promised to make it up to you remember?” he whispers against the shell of your ears and you shiver, your palms tracing the veins on his arms.
“Yeah,” you reply breathlessly.
Evidently your doubts leave momentarily, overtaken by the pleasure he inflicts on you, and it all translates into you two both giggling over breakfast, throwing teasing remarks at each other and unaware of the way Sunoo and Sunghoon are staring at you both with evident bewilderment etched onto their face.
“What the fuck?” Sunghoon speaks, tone laced with shock as his eyes flit between you two “Is Jake fucking chuckling?”
“Pussy is really one magical thing.” Sunoo murmurs, shaking his head with now disgust climbing over his face.
“Amen.” Sunghoon replies with a snort.

George Russell (Mercedes) - Regency
Requested: yes
Prompt: 20) "It's like suddenly every love song is about you."
Warnings: nada
Tumblr media
George and Y/n sat cozily on the couch, engrossed in an episode of Bridgerton. The soft glow of the TV illuminated their faces as they indulged in the Regency-era drama. As George and Y/n wrapped his arms tighter around his girlfriend, she turned to him, a playful glint in her eyes. "You know, you'd fit right in with the British charm on this show. Can you imagine giving me a dramatic love confession like they do?" George knotted his brows, partially confused. "How?" Y/n grinned mischievously. "Well, you're British, and you've got that dashing charm. Plus, wouldn't it be amusing if you had one of those angry love confessions, just like in the show?"
George raised an eyebrow, entertained by the idea. "Oh, you want an angry love confession, do you?" Y/n nodded eagerly, her eyes sparkling with anticipation, and sitting up off him. With a grin, George cleared his throat, adopting a dramatic tone worthy of Bridgerton. "Very well, my dearest Y/n. Brace yourself for the torrent of my affection." Y/n giggled, settling in for George's performance. George chuckled, playing along. "Oh, my dearest Y/n, I must confess, my heart yearns for you in the most passionate manner," he said in a faux posh accent. "Do go on, Mr. George, I'm intrigued." Y/n giggled, encouraging him to continue. George stood up, taking Y/n along with him as though he was in the show. "Ah, my love." He began theatrically. "In your eyes, I find a celestial beauty that rivals the heavens above." Y/n's mouth was agape. "You're doing splendidly, darling. Carry on."
"My beloved Y/n, from the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew my heart was irrevocably yours. You are not merely a person to me; you are my stars, my moon, and my sun." Y/n's eyes widened in amusement and affection as George continued, his voice dripping with melodrama. "In your presence, it's as though every melody I hear is but a love song dedicated to you. Your laughter is the sweetest symphony, and your smile, oh, your smile, it could outshine the very sun itself."
Y/n couldn't help but laugh, charmed by George's theatrics. "Keep going, I'm intrigued!"
"Y/n, my love for you knows no bounds. It transcends time and space, like a love story woven into the fabric of the universe itself. To love you is to breathe, to exist, to live." George continued, looking into Y/n's eyes with mock seriousness. "The melody of my heart beats in sync with the rhythm of your laughter." George, still in character, took Y/n's hand, pressing a gentle kiss to her knuckles. "My dearest Y/n, my feelings for you are a tempestuous storm, yet in the chaos, I find the most exquisite serenity." She felt her cheeks heat up as he looked up towards her. Y/n couldn't help but smile. "Oh, George."
"What? You wanted a confession and you got one." George chuckled, kissing her lips. "I know but Jesus, have you been practising that?" George laughed falling back onto the couch with Y/n in his arms. "No, not at all. I just did a lot of poetry and literature in school. It's easy to come up with sometimes." He said it as though it were easy. It wasnt. To do it unscripted was something else entirely. "I know but it was quite romantic." She muttered. George leaned in, pressing a tender kiss to her forehead. "Only for you, my dear Y/n. Only for you."
As they melted into each other's embrace, the echoes of their laughter mingled with the melodious strains of Bridgerton, creating a scene straight out of a love story—one that would rival even the most captivating tales of Regency romance.

I think Remy would like Princess and the Frog.
So how bout a Remy x Reader, where they go see it in theaters?
Under the Crescent Moon
The night sky was clear, and the air was warm with that unmistakable Southern humidity that clung to your skin like a soft embrace. You leaned back in the passenger seat of Remy’s classic Chevy truck, the windows rolled down as a warm breeze drifted in. The two of you had been planning this for weeks—heading to the drive-in to catch a late-night showing of The Princess and the Frog. It was one of those rare quiet moments where there were no missions or mutant troubles to worry about.
Remy had been surprisingly excited for this. The moment he found out that the movie was set in his hometown of New Orleans, his eyes lit up with that familiar mischievous sparkle.
“Y’know, chérie, you gonna love dis one. It’s all ‘bout my home. And trust me, dere ain’t no place like New Orleans,” he’d said with a grin when you suggested it. Now, sitting in the truck, you could feel his excitement.
The screen ahead flickered to life, casting a soft glow over the scattered cars. As the opening credits rolled and the first notes of jazzy, soulful music filled the air, you glanced over at Remy. He was leaning back, arms crossed over his chest, but his eyes were glued to the screen, a small smile playing at the corners of his lips.
Throughout the movie, Remy would lean over, whispering little bits of trivia about New Orleans into your ear. “Dat’s Jackson Square,” he’d murmur with pride, or, “Dere’s Cafe du Monde. Ain’t no better beignets in da world.” His Cajun accent was as thick as ever, tinged with nostalgia as he saw his home come to life on the big screen.
You smiled at how he seemed just as enchanted by the movie as you were. It was the kind of story that felt close to his heart—about love, about hope, about home. As the movie moved into the love story between Tiana and Naveen, and the firefly Ray sang his sweet song to his beloved star, Evangeline, you could feel Remy’s hand slide into yours. His touch was warm and grounding, and when you turned to look at him, his eyes were already on you, soft and full of something deeper than the playful flirtation he was known for.
“You know, chérie,” he said softly, his thumb tracing circles on the back of your hand, “Ray, he got it right. Sometimes, de best t’ing you can do is look up at de stars and hold on to someone you love.”
You smiled, feeling your heart flutter in your chest. “You think so?”
“Mmhm,” he nodded, his gaze shifting to the sky for a moment before settling back on you. “Ray had his Evangeline. Always chasin’ her, dreamin’ of her, even when she was far away.” His eyes flickered with a kind of tenderness that made your breath catch. “You… you’re my Evangeline, chérie.”
Your heart swelled at his words, and you couldn’t help but feel a little emotional. Remy wasn’t always one to speak from the heart like this. He loved to tease, to flirt, but when he got serious—when he dropped his guard and let you see the man behind the mask—it was overwhelming in the best way.
“I’m your Evangeline?” you whispered, your voice barely audible above the sound of the movie.
He chuckled, nodding as he tilted his head, his eyes glowing faintly in the dim light. “Oh, cher, don’t you know? I been searchin’ de skies for you all dis time.” He squeezed your hand gently, lifting it to his lips and pressing a soft kiss to your knuckles. “Ain’t nothin’ in dis world or up in de stars dat shines as bright as you do to me.”
You felt a warmth spread through you that had nothing to do with the humid Louisiana air. He always had a way with words, making you feel like the most cherished person in the world. The kind of love that Remy offered wasn’t flashy or loud—it was the quiet, unwavering kind, like a soft Southern breeze, comforting and ever-present.
As the movie came to its emotional conclusion, with Tiana and Naveen finally finding their happy ending, Remy pulled you closer, wrapping an arm around your shoulders as you leaned into him. The fireflies twinkled on the screen, and you couldn’t help but think that this moment felt like something out of a fairytale.
“Dis movie got it right,” he murmured against your hair, his voice warm and low. “It ain’t about riches or fancy t’ings. It’s about home. ‘Bout de people who make you feel like you belong.” He paused, his fingers gently running through your hair. “And you, chérie… you’re my home.”
You tilted your head up to look at him, your heart full. He was staring down at you with that look in his eyes—the one that was softer than the moonlight, more sincere than any words he could ever say.
“I love you, Remy,” you whispered, the words coming so easily, like they’d always been there, waiting to be spoken.
He smiled that lazy, affectionate smile that you loved so much. “I love you too, mon amour,” he whispered back, leaning down to brush a soft kiss against your lips. The kiss was sweet and slow, lingering in the warm night air.
When you pulled back, Remy turned his gaze toward the sky, pointing to a particularly bright star twinkling above you. “Look up dere, chérie. See dat star? Dat’s our Evangeline.”
You smiled, resting your head against his shoulder, your fingers lacing with his. “Think she’s watching over us?”
Remy chuckled softly, nodding as he gazed at the sky with a fondness that mirrored Ray’s love for his star. “Oh, she’s watchin’, alright. And she knows just how lucky I am to have found you.”
The credits rolled on the screen, but neither of you moved to leave. The night felt too perfect, too precious to end just yet. So, you stayed there, wrapped in each other’s arms, under the crescent moon and the twinkling stars, feeling like the luckiest people in the world.
And as the fireflies danced in the distance, Remy leaned down and kissed you once more, his lips lingering on yours as if he never wanted to let go. Because for him, there was no place more magical than being right here, with you, his own Evangeline

happy birthday, @stevesbipanic! i am glad you were born, you amazing human being. I hope you get to drink the coldest, most delicious, bougiest milo you can have. ILY broccoli! 💛
-
Steve has never had a birthday cake. He doesn't count the first six cakes his parents had for him, because he's pretty sure it was only for appearances.
He remembers his seventh birthday. How badly he wanted to have a Flintstones themed birthday party, and how his parents called it tacky. Instead, Steve had a lavish tea party with all of their investor friends. He remembers hating it.
After that, there's— nothing. There were Nannies or Babysitters that tried to make him feel better by bringing him to Benny's and he's thankful for that. But there's always that heart wrenching rip in his system when he sees a child. Surrounded by family, singing happy birthday as they wait to blow on a cake.
And the thing is if Steve never gets to have that, it’s okay. It’s really, really, really, okay. That also means he’ll do his best to give all the kids the best birthdays they can have, so they can never feel what he felt. If El wants a day just full of craft making? Sure. Dustin wants to visit this damn planetarium in Indianapolis? Okay. Mike wants to dress him like him for an entire day? Alright.
Steve is happy that way, until Eddie Munson comes crashing into his life with a broken bottle. And okay, maybe it’s not a great idea to lie in the biggest and probably the most important relationship he has right now, but he’s not going to tell Eddie his little sad secret.
What he forgot to account for is the fact that his boyfriend is the biggest snoop to ever exist.
“Wha— What’s this?” Steve stammers as he enters his house. It’s almost always dark when he comes home, the house dull and empty.
Tonight, it’s different. After having his birthday dinner with Robin, Steve drives them back to his house so they can have movie night. Supposedly.
Instead, Eddie’s standing behind the long wooden dining table that never gets used, with 20 different cupcakes, all lit with a candle. There’s food and banners and balloons with streamers.
Robin pushes him forward with a smile, “So…” Eddie walks towards him, “I found some of your childhood pictures.”
“Oh.” Steve breathes out.
“Look, maybe I am wrong. Maybe I got it all wrong. Maybe your parents just weren’t the kind of people that liked taking pictures and having to develop them. Maybe someday, you’ll tell me why you only have one childhood photo album or why there’s no pictures of your birthday parties past the age of six.”
Eddie says, hands nervously twisting around his hair, “But, on the off chance that I am right,” He shakes his head in disbelief, “On the off chance that you haven’t had a birthday cake or a birthday wish in 14 years, I got you 20 birthday cupcakes.”
Steve can barely hold himself anymore, tears threatening to spill from his eyes, “Why 20?”
Eddie smiles at him, and his eyes sparkle at Steve like he hung the damn moon and stars, like he fucking created the whole universe, “One for every year my favorite person has been alive.”
Steve chokes down a half sob, half whine as he slaps a hand on his mouth.
“Oh, sweetheart.” Eddie whispers as he wraps Steve in a comforting hug. They stay like that for a minute before Eddie says, “I am so happy you were born. There’s a few more people that are happy, they’re all hiding in the kitchen right now.”
“What?” Steve pulls back, hastily wiping his tears.
“The kids are all here. Nance, Jonathan, and Argyle.” Eddie tenderly wipes a stray tear off his cheek, “Even Wayne, Hop, Joyce, and Mrs. Henderson is here.”
Steve’s not sure if he wants to know, but he still asks, “Why?”
Eddie visibly softens, but before he can answer Robin answers for him, “Because we all love you, Dingus.”
“So, here’s what’s going to happen. You’re going to sit behind the cupcakes and they’re going to come out from where they’ve been eavesdropping.” Steve laughs when Eddie emphasizes the word, and there’s a clatter in the kitchen followed by whispering, “They’re going to act normal. And we’re going to sing you a song. Okay?”
Steve smiles, nodding, “Okay.”
“Okay.” Eddie says as he runs to the kitchen and as Robin ushers him to sit in front of the cupcakes. She forces a birthday hat on his hair, and he doesn’t even argue.
They all come out from the kitchen, all smiling and wearing ridiculous birthday hats. Even Hop and Wayne are wearing them and it might actually be the funniest thing he’s ever seen. The kids have blow horns that fill the silent house with joyous sounds.
They sing him a birthday song. It’s loud and it doesn’t exactly sound good. Dustin’s trying a new other pitch and Lucas has never been a good singer. Max is drumming on the table and El has a small tambourine. Mike and Will are trying to do some kind of duet in their own little bubble. But it’s the most beautiful, harmonious sound to Steve.
And as they all urged him to make a wish, Steve is struck with awe and disbelief, a feeling of realization sparking in his veins. Steve’s got everything he’s ever wanted right in front of him. He just wants all of them to be safe and sound.
He smiles at his family, as he lets his eyelid flutter shut.
And for the first time, Steve makes a birthday wish.
-
Edit:
Steve smiles, happy and content, as everyone chitchats around him.
"Hey, Eds?" Steve calls out for his boyfriend who's busy stuffing his face with bread rolls.
"Yeam?" Eddie replies, still chewing on the bread.
"Can I have a Flintstone themed birthday next year?"
Eddie swallows his bread with water, before turning to Steve with a smile so bright it could blind him. He moves closer to give his temple a light kiss.
"You got it, sweetheart. I'll be Fred, you'll be Wilma. It will be perfect."

for your fall prompts! what about “why are your hands so cold?” with the love of my life, steve harrington?
autumn, my love! ty for requesting! i hope you like it!! — steve makes fun of your cold hands but only as an excuse to hold them (mutual pining, friends to lovers, 2k)
fictober (㇏(•̀ᵥᵥ•́)ノ)
Family Video always smells like Robin’s morning coffee, crisp autumn air, and warm nostalgia this time of year. It’s quiet and homey and liminal — as orange as early autumn itself.
The empty store is filled with the sound of your rushed scribbling as you jot down a load of cursive nothingness in your journal. Your hand smears the wet ink across the page. It stains the paper as much as the side of your wrist.
Your other hand is curled into a fist to prop up your lolling head. Expelling your racing thoughts into the leather-back book is the only thing keeping you awake.
The stale air glows suddenly with a newfound life when a cozier, more familiar scent engulfs you — like pine, musk, and vanilla. You feel Steve’s visceral warmth surrounding you. Before you can blush about the unexpected proximity, he snatches your journal out from under you.
“Hey!” you shout before you mean to, perhaps the loudest he’s ever heard you.
“What’s this?” this beautiful boy muses, honey eyes sparkling. The dull store blooms with its radiance. You can’t believe he’s looking at you with it and with his rosy, lopsided grin.
“Give it back,” you demand, quieter now and smiling wider.
Steve meets your playfully arched brow with a sunny grin. He thumbs through your journal with golden hands from a leftover summer tan. His biceps are all but bursting from his vest and too-tight polo.
“Keith said you’re not allowed to write in your diary on the clock, you know?” he reminds with a feigned seriousness, scrunching his nose when his twinkling eyes flit back to yours.
Keith did actually say that. A few days ago now. He also said he’d dock your pay if he caught you doing it again, the absolute asshole.
“It’s not a diary!” you argue with a beam on your face.
You briefly wonder if you’re smiling a little too wide, and the fleeting thought makes the bright expression flicker.
You cross your arms over your chest and pretend to be more serious. Something about Steve stirs a deep sensuality in you, though — like a wolf innately drawn to a full moon. The corners of your lips quirk with an emotion you couldn’t conceal if you tried.
“I’ll be the judge of that,” he singsongs with raised brows.
Strands of honey hair hang over his wrinkled forehead when he turns to the book in his hands. He swipes his fingers through them to push them back again, but they fall into place a second later.
You’re too enamored by the boy in front of you to stop him when he starts flipping through your notebook. You know he knows it isn’t a diary. You also know he wouldn’t be going through it if it were. He’s too nice for that. Too sweet on you, anyway.
He finds a random page and lingers there. His eyes flit over every inch of the ink you’ve scribbled inside — miscellaneous lists, doodles, and song lyrics. He figures it must be the music you’re humming all the time, tunes you can’t get out of your head.
Every time I see you, all the rays of the sun are streaming through the waves of your hair, the words read in clumsy cursive. And every star in the sky is taking aim at your eyes like a spotlight. The beating of my heart is a drum, and it’s lost, and it’s looking for a rhythm like you—
Steve’s heart flutters. He feels like a kid again. His stomach swirls with the thought that you might’ve been thinking about him in between the lyrics. It’s as unlikely as it is childish. He knows this, so he frowns.
“Oh,” he monotones playfully, brows pinching and lips jutting. “That’s boring.”
“Exactly. So give it back—” You reach for the book, but Steve’s too quick. He jerks it out of your reach and leaves your hand grabbing at air.
“Ooh, sorry, sunshine,” Steve lilts. “Looks like you’re not tall enough for this ride.”
Your cheeks speckle with heat. You wonder if he’s flirting or if he’s just being friendly, and you’re too in love to know the difference. Your terribly hidden smile is wide and impossibly giddy, anyway.
“Steve,” you bite, though it comes out much happier than you intended it to. “Give it back.”
He purses his lips to the side and furrows his brows. “Hmm… No.”
Your smile broadens, and your eyes widen at his blatant defiance. You giggle like a child as you walk the short distance towards him. “Give it back,” you laugh and stand on the tips of your toes in front of him.
He chuckles boyishly in return and lifts it further out of your reach.
You jump slightly off the ground to grab it. You fail the first time and try harder the second. You just narrowly miss it. The tips of your fingers brush his wrist as your torso presses too intently against his ribcage.
Your chest scrapes his vest and jostles his Hi, I’m Steve name tag. You stumble back in mortification.
With a red-hot face and a gaping gaze, you try to stammer out an apology. Nothing comes out. Your mouth opens and shuts like a fish as you pull the hem of your sweater down from where it had ridden up.
Steve has his own look of bewilderment. His honey eyes are aglow with something short of amusement. You’re briefly worried he’s about to mock you until he starts to laugh. “Why are your hands so cold?” he wonders with squinted eyes.
Your stutter hasn’t quite left you. “I— I don’t know. My hands are always cold.”
You curl your fists into the sleeves of your sweater on instinct. If only to hide how they shake for him.
“But that’s like… ice cold,” Steve insists, crooked smile widening. “Like, we live in Antarctica cold.”
Less embarrassed and more playful, you roll your eyes and turn away from him. “Okay…” you mumble under your breath as you sit back down in your chair. Steve can’t stand you being too far away, so he follows you.
“Like, you just got done shoveling snow with your bare hands cold. Like—”
“I get it, Steve. I’m a freak of nature,” you concede, spinning in your swivel chair to face him again.
He’s much closer than you expect him to be. His long legs are all but inches from your knees as he stands before you. You flush but smirk up at him in attempts to keep cool about how fervently he makes you tremble.
“I’m just teasing,” he assures with a pretty laugh.
You already knew that, though. He’s too kind to be mean. He’s a dumbass sometimes, but he always means well.
“Here, look,” he starts, laying your journal back on the counter with a quiet thud. “Let me make it up to you, yeah?”
Your brows pinch. “What do you mean?”
You find out a second later when he turns back to you and takes your hands in his larger ones.
His fingers are long and golden as they curl around your knuckles. His palms aren’t soft, but they aren’t rough either — like they’ve been used, but not too ardently. And he’s warm. He’s oh, so warm.
You tense at the sudden action but relax a second later, melting into him like you’ve always been destined to.
“Oh…”
“Right?” Steve nods with raised brows and quirked lips. “I’m practically a space heater.”
Your heart’s fluttering too aggressively to stutter out an intelligible sentence, so you just nod back at him. “Yeah…”
It makes a little too much sense that the ray of sunlight that always calls you Sunshine feels so golden warm.
Steve gives your hands a squeeze. “See? You’re getting warmer already.”
He doesn’t know it’s because you’re blushing so intensely you feel like your entire body has been set on fire. You’re happy to let him keep on not knowing.
“Thanks, Stevie…” you murmur quietly, gaze trained on your entwined hands.
“Stevie?” he chuckles.
Your eyes dart up to his sparkling ones, and you freeze. You hadn’t meant to call him that. That nickname was usually reserved for your too-elaborate daydreams. “Oh. Shit. Sorry. It just— It just slipped. I’m sorry.”
“No. No, it’s okay,” Steve assures with the shake of his head, giving you another reassuring squeeze. “Seriously. I liked it.”
You exhale a nervous laugh through your nose, ducking your gaze away from his. “You always hate when Robin calls you that…”
“Well, yeah. ‘Cause she’s Robin.”
Your laugh is more genuine this time.
“And it sounds a lot prettier when you say it, anyway.”
He must notice how hard he’s making you blush with how warm your hands have gotten — from frozen solid to fiery hot. But he holds them, anyway. Even when they get all clammy. You want it to mean more than it probably does.
“Yeah?” you press, peering up at him through your lashes.
“Yeah,” he nods like it’s obvious, then gets as sheepish as you a moment later. He tries to act cool through his shyness, tilting his head and shrugging as he smirks. “How about you call me that tonight?”
Your eyes go wide at the unintended insinuation.
His gape matches your own when his own words dawn on him. “I meant at dinner!” he follows quickly. “At Enzo’s. Seven o’clock. You know, if— if you wanna go with me or whatever.”
You do. Most desperately so. In fact, you’re pretty sure you dreamt about it one time. Maybe you’ll tell him that if you’re brave enough — over pasta and breadsticks.
“I don’t have a car,” you confess with a forced laugh. “Or a pretty dress…”
“I can pick you up!” Steve assures immediately, then grows visibly shier. He shifts his weight on his feet but doesn’t try to let go of your hands. It feels too right to hold them. “And, you know, I’m sure you’ll look nice in whatever you decide to wear, sunshine.”
You purse your lips to the side as you nod, lest your beam blinds him and makes your cheeks burst.
“Okay… Enzo’s. Seven o’clock,” you repeat quietly.
“I pick you up,” he says, squeezing your hands.
You squeeze him back. “You pick me up.”
“And we spend an hour eating breadsticks and making fun of all the wine snobs.”
The imagery makes your stomach swirl, a dream so real you can taste it — red wine and garlic and cherry chapstick.
“Sounds like a plan,” you affirm with a sheepish giggle.
He nods, having no idea he’s grinning like a lovesick idiot down at you. “Cool.”
“Cool,” you repeat.
You watch his tongue dart out to wet his bottom lip. For a fleeting moment, you think he might kiss you. You want him to kiss you. You might melt at his feet if he did, but you need it like you need air.
Ding!
The door chimes at the front of the store.
Autumn air rushes in, leaving you bitterly cold all over again. Or maybe that’s just because Steve’s stepping away from you. Both of you know that Keith will have a fit if a customer complains about PDA.
“Hi! Welcome in! Can I help you find anything?” Steve greets as kindly as always, smiling just the same.
He only says it because he has to say it. He’s secretly hoping for a negative response, just so he can keep on talking to you.
The man in big work boots and a thick canvas jacket squints around the store. He rubs his scruffy face with a hardened hand and turns to Steve. “Yeah, actually,” he says in a gruff, gravely voice. “I was looking for this movie for my wife. It’s her birthday and…”
He rambles on about her favorite movie, a cartoon from her childhood he’s gone two towns over to find. It’s sweet enough to give you butterflies, though it doesn’t match the zoo that erupts in your stomach when Steve turns to look at you again.
He departs from you with a honey gaze. You smile back at him as he goes, watching him intently as he helps the customer with a pretty pink smile.
Your hands are cold again. So much that they ache with you curl them into fists.
You can’t wait for Steve to hold you again tonight. Over a white-clothed table, warm yellow candlelight, and wine-slicked lips.
Enzo’s. Seven o’clock.

3:29am, i've been dreaming about you for years. stars and moons and cotton candy clouds on fire at sundown. the whole universe resides in your eyes, it's almost unfair. sleepless nights because you're not here; restless days because i can't wait for you to be back. the clock stops ticking when you're not with me. the magnetic pull gets stronger during the witching hour somehow. i've always been drawn to you, even before i knew who you were. you're the only home i'd leave all my haunts for. it's summer solstice in most parts of the world but not in our bedroom, not when the only way i can have you is through a phone screen on your pillow. your voice is trying to lull me to sleep. it doesn't come close to replicating one tenth of your warmth. to love is to endure.
-
i'm halfway through the day, and you must be dreaming of where you belong, by my side on a bed that's far too big when i'm the only occupant. or at least, i hope you're dreaming of me too. 1:19pm, i'm six hours ahead but days and weeks and months and years behind, still stuck in that airport where you left me for the first time. some days, my eyes get misty at lunch when i think about your alarm going off and your irritated groan as you roll over to make your phone stop screaming. other days, i don't have an appetite at all, not with you on my mind and the reminder that there's still oceans between us. when are you coming home? i know when you're coming home, and yet i ask anyway, as if it'll shorten the distance and make the time pass more quickly. to love is to wait.
-
saturday morning, but i can't stay in bed past 7:12am. missing you a lot tonight, was what you had sent while i was asleep. that's a little cruel for a good morning text, don't you think? it's not your fault. i blame it on the oceans, on the time, on the distance. the coffee is still brewing, just enough for one steaming mug but it would've been nice if i got to make two. can we go back to new york? we always say we would, but can we do it now? i'll meet you halfway if you let me. there's nothing that ties me to this place. you're always on the move. my home is always on the move. we were happy on that trip, right? my fondest memories of you. skylines and the high line. to love is to risk it all, and i would risk it all for you. take me home, will you? let's go back to new york.
-
the clock reads 8:18am, but the date is all wrong. you should be landing any minute now, but not for another two days. two more days until you're home, ten days that i get to be in your arms. and yet, all i can think about is your departure, about coming back to an empty apartment after you're gone again. i think about you leaving before you even return. the drive back after i've sent you off, it never hurts less no matter how many times we go through it. i can already picture the scene, it's almost routine at this point. your sparkling eyes when they find me in the crowded airport, your relieved sigh when i run to you, your hands clutching me so tightly like you don't want to let go either. it's always this damn airport. we should stop meeting like this. when the buzzing of my phone snaps me out of it, i know who's on the other end of the notification. a photo of your new polaroid camera, then a promise to make more memories to keep with us when you come back to me.
to love is to willingly weather this with you a million times and more. even if it hurts. maybe especially if it hurts. you're the reason i keep going. you're the reason why the sun rises in the morning. let's talk about new york when you're here.

staying afloat - k.th
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: kang taehyun x gn reader | genre / tropes: angst, argument -> makeup, implied friends to lovers, office worker!taehyun, the subtlest of love confessions | word count: 899 | warnings: burnout and exhaustion from overwork
part of my 300 followers event (event masterlist)
prompt - HEAT: while engaged in a passionate argument with one another, sender, in the heat of the moment, blurts out “i love you!” to the receiver. think of like, that glorious trope where people have a huge argument and then suddenly sb drops the mic with “because i’m in love with you!” and silences the other person. u know the trope! (requested by anon)
author's notes: HI ANON im sorry this took sooooo long. as i said, this was hard for me to write bc i already did the heat prompt twice before and i didn't want to be too repetitive with the arguments... the argument here is a bit calmer and more one-sided on yn's part but i hope it still works!
Tumblr media
“you are running yourself into the ground, taehyun!” you grab his shoulders and give him a little shake. taehyun watches you closely, and you can see the darkening circles under his eyes.
he’s still standing before the threshold of your home, right in front of the door. with just one step he could walk in if you weren’t blocking his way. outside, the night air is so cold that you shivered instantly upon opening the door for him. the sky is dark, with neither moon nor stars, and the only light comes from the fluorescent bulb at the doorway.
“y/n, you’re up working too,” he says. his voice is steady but firm. “you can’t tell me what not to do when you’re also working like this.”
“i’m doing overtime for just one night, for god’s sake. but you 一 you’ve been so busy and tired for what, two weeks? you forget to answer my texts. forget!” you throw your hands up. “and you’ve never forgotten before, not in all the years that i’ve known you.”
taehyun stuffs his hands into his pockets and his gaze flickers away from yours for a second before it returns. though he tries to stand his ground, you notice the soft look in his eyes, laying bare the tiredness and worries weighing down on him.
“well, i’m here now. why won’t you let me make it up to you?”
“because it’s one in the morning and you’ve been staying up late for overtime and extra projects for what, two weeks now? you go home late and you wake up early, your boss dumps all this work on you, and you barely get any time off!” you take a step closer, now fully exiting the warmth of your home, to stand so close to him. “please, taehyun. it’s not that i don’t want to see you, but you’re so, so tired. i can see it in your face.”
you reach out to touch his face, but his expression goes taut and your hand hovers just inches away. he turns away from you before you can scan his eyes for the tired look you saw; a cold breeze blows by, causing both of you to shiver and pushing the bangs away from taehyun’s forehead.
he looks... sadder than what you remember. you remember how easily his face would light up before he took on his new position at his job; he would smile at the smallest of your remarks, his big eyes sparkling like jewels. you thought of the steady stream of texts from him day after day, reminding you to eat or commenting on a silly photo you took, and how that stream soon turned into a trickle. the memories make your body feel heavy.
taehyun says nothing for a few moments and just lets out a sigh. when he looks back at you there’s a pained look that wasn’t there before, and you feel an ache in your chest at the sight.
“y/n, i... i don’t want you to worry about me like this. i can’t... i can take care of myself. please, please just trust me. i hate watching you worry like this.”
“oh, you hate watching me worry?” your tone rises before you even realize it. “and i hate watching you turn into this! you’re exhausted, taehyun. you’re not yourself anymore. i can’t even remember the last time i saw you smile! do you know how much it hurts to see the person you love lose himself like this?”
you tremble in your spot and your words start to trip over themselves. your emotions pile onto each other, keeping you from speaking straight: some anger, yes, but mostly disappointment, worry, loneliness, fear. “i ha一 i hate seeing you like this, taehyunie. i can’t一 i can’t watch一 i love you too much to see this一”
taehyun cuts you off to pull you into a hug. he holds onto you so tightly, as if trying to wrestle you away from the emotions gripping you. one of his hands makes his way through your hair. angry tears prick at your eyes but you relax in his hold, finally letting out a sob.
“i’m sorry,” he says, his hand combing through your hair then rubbing your back. “i know you’re just looking out for me... and you’re right. i am exhausted...”
something shifts and now you feel his full weight on you. now you’re the one holding him, his head moving to rest in the crook of your neck, his shoulders fully slumped. the weeks of exhaustion have finally caught up to him, and you wrap your arms around his waist to prop him up.
“i’m sorry, y/n,” he repeats. “for not... listening to you... for forgetting...”
your hold on him tightens and tears stream down your face, but you manage to speak. “i just don’t want you to hurt yourself...”
neither of you say anything more. taehyun doesn’t let go of you and sinks fully into your touch; despite the chill night air, he’s still warm in your arms. you let your tears fall freely as you keep a firm hold on the friend you love, as if letting go of him means he will sink and drown.
the night is so quiet that the murmur he lets out against your neck still comes out loud and clear.
“i love you too.”

Swap AU Part: 1
The night sky was painted a calm dark blue, soft clouds obscured some of the sparkling stars, but the moon shone bright, its glow reflected on the river’s surface. The trees and the grass swayed gently along the soothing breeze, however, Adam was anything but calm. He had been waiting for both Lilith and Lucifer, arriving earlier than agreed so he could prepare himself. While Lucifer was there to mediate, he needed to remind himself to be patient with his wife and not lose his temper. He hoped they could finally talk things out and agree on some things. He even got her her favourite flowers as an apology and to maybe cheer her up.
Two sets of footsteps just beyond the tree line signalled Lucifer and Lilith’s arrival to the agreed spot. As soon as he heard them approaching, Adam hid the flowers behind his back, and greeted the two with a cheerful wave.
“Lilith! Lucifer!”
The two walked towards Adam. Together. In silence, clearly not returning his enthusiasm. Lucifer kept his gaze towards the ground, desperately avoiding to look at Adam, while Lilith had a serious look upon her face, her gaze hard and her lips taut. As they got closer, Adam noticed that they held each other’s hands, tightly and yet comforting. Once they arrived, a heavy and tense tone hung in the air. Suddenly, it was too quiet.
Just as Adam was about to speak to break the tension, Lilith spoke instead, “Let’s all sit down first.” Her tone was firm and final, leaving no room for argument.
Adam did as he was told and sat on the grass, Lilith and Lucifer sat opposite him, hands still together. “Um, so..?”
Lucifer had a guilty look in his eyes, like he couldn’t bear to look up, but he gained some confidence once Lilith gave his hand a firm squeeze. He looked Adam straight in the eye, and the first man grew concerned. He had never seen the angel look like that before, like something was very wrong. The solemn atmosphere, the two being uncharacteristically quiet, the look on their faces. It felt like they knew something he didn’t. As if they were hiding something from him.
Lucifer held Adam’s gaze, a seriousness unusually present upon his features, “Adam. Lilith and I… we have something to tell you. Please understand–”
“Lucifer and I are together. We love each other,” Lilith abruptly cut in.
Lucifer snapped his head towards Lilith, “Lilith! You can’t just–!”. He couldn’t believe it. Lilith revealed them just like that. Without much care or consideration.
“I’m tired of hiding the truth. I’m sorry you had to find out this way Adam, but I–” Lilith’s words died in her throat. Stuck there as she was unable to maintain her cold mask. She thought she had steeled herself for this moment. She was sick and tired of having to pretend and lie to Adam’s face every time they met. If anything, Lilith was a woman who craved freedom and to be herself the most. There was nothing wrong with the love she shared with Lucifer. She deserved true happiness too. But her resolve quickly waned as soon as she turned to look at Adam. And oh God. The look on his face. She had never seen him look so heartbroken. The shock and pain of betrayal had clearly shattered his heart, stamped out his spirit. Sure, they had their petty spats, their heated arguments, said words they didn’t fully mean, but despite their downs, they also had their ups. Adam was kind to her, tried to be a good husband, but she couldn’t just love him like that. She didn’t want to be his wife. And really, it wasn’t his fault nor hers. It was Heaven forcing them to do things they didn’t want to do. In her quest to fulfil herself, she ended up hurting him in a way he didn’t deserve.
“I– We didn’t mean to–”
“How long..?,” Adam finally asked with quivering lips.
Lilith and Lucifer faced Adam, properly this time, guilt present on both of their faces.
“How long were the two of you going behind my back?,” Adam repeated. This time he looked at them, hurt and betrayal in his eyes as tears threatened to spill.
Lucifer never wanted to be even smaller, to shrink and curl in on himself and hide from this situation. But he owed Adam the truth. “...for half a year now…,” he admitted.
Adam took a deep breath. His chest hurt, he found it hard to breathe and his vision was becoming blurry. He couldn’t believe it. They had been lying to him for six months. All those times they were too busy or simply didn’t want to spend time with him, it was because they were together. He had been nothing but genuine and honest with them, thinking they were doing the same. But all this time they were making a fool out of him. His wife and his best friend. He couldn’t hold it in anymore, and so the dam broke. Tears spilled from his eyes, flowing heavily down his cheeks and onto the ground as he let his feelings out.
Lilith tried to reach out to him, in a useless attempt to soothe some of his pain, “Adam…”
“Don’t. Don’t touch me.”
Lilith pulled her hand back. The consequences of her actions fully settling. Guilt heavy in her stomach. But she couldn’t stop now. She turned to look at Lucifer. He looked like he didn’t want to continue anymore. Fine. If he was too afraid, then she would have to do it. Inhale. Exhale.
“We’re sorry Adam, for going behind your back like that. But Heaven would have never approved of us, and we weren’t sure if we could trust you.” Lilith paused. Her hand gripped Lucifer’s again, in search of comfort. “And I know we hurt you Adam, and we shouldn’t have lied to you, but please understand. Heaven cannot find out about us.”
There was silence, save for Adam’s suppressed sobs. They know they hurt him terribly, but Lilith and Lucifer still held hope that Adam would keep their relationship secret. They waited with bated breath for an answer that felt like it was never coming.
“...I’ll keep your secret…,” Adam finally answered.
Lucifer and Lilith looked up at Adam. Surprise and relief on both their faces. After what they had done. It would be so easy for Adam to get back at them and have them punished by telling Heaven of their betrayal, and yet…
“Really? Oh thank you Adam!” Lucifer wanted to hug the first man and thank him properly. This was the best outcome he could’ve hoped for. Yes, they’ve hurt him, but now he had an opportunity to make it up to him. It would take a while, but he would try and make sure to repay him. No lies or betrayals from now on.
Adam decided to get up. He needed to be away from them. Just being near them hurt his heart in a way he never thought was possible. He needed time to allow what he found out to settle in his mind, and he needed to be alone for it. As he got up, he felt the soft petals brush his legs. He remembered. He got flowers for Lilith.
“Here. Congratulations, I suppose,” he handed the flowers to Lilith before heading away from them.
“Adam..!,” Lucifer tried to follow but Lilith put her hand on his chest, stopping him from getting up.
“Let’s give him some space.”
—-
Adam laid down on the makeshift bed made of leaves in a cave. His cave. Not his and Lilith’s. He found a different place since they revealed the truth to him. Being in that place, with traces of Lilith, her scent, her drawings, the things she made, it hurt too much. It had been a week since then, but the wound on his heart still felt fresh. He didn’t know how he could heal from this. Thankfully, both Lilith and Lucifer respected his wish to be left alone, although Lucifer tried to ‘be there’ for him at the start.
It was almost noon, the sun was bright, and the animals were wide awake. And yet, Adam laid still on his bed, blankly staring at the cave ceiling, not wanting to do anything. He hadn’t wanted to do anything for a week now. In the garden of three people, Adam felt alone, and paradise no longer felt like paradise.
Adam closed his eyes. He felt tired. It seemed that he was going to spend today sleeping all day as well. Then he heard the fluttering of wings and a set of feet landing near the cave entrance.
“Is that Lucifer? I told him I didn’t want to see him,” Adam sighed. He hoped that Lucifer would leave quickly at the very least.
“Adam?”
It was a voice he had heard only a few times. When he was first made, and on the rare occasions he saw him patrolling the garden. Adam opened his eyes to confirm.
Wavy golden locks that reached his shoulders, crystal blue eyes and small golden stars that trailed under his eyes. It was the leader of the heavenly host, the archangel Michael
“Michael..?” Adam sat up, surprised by the angel’s sudden visit.
Michael stood by the cave entrance, not daring to step a foot inside. He looked towards Adam for permission, “May I come in?”
“O-of course!”
Michael sat beside Adam, ensuring enough space between them. He remembered Lucifer telling him that Adam wanted space. What that meant and why, he didn’t know. One thing he did know though was that, at least according to Lucifer’s spur of the moment stories, Adam was usually social. So to hear that he was refusing company from both Lucifer and Lilith, well, that was concerning. Especially since Lucifer, the angel primarily in charge of the garden, couldn’t seem to get through the first man.
“Brother, do you think you could Adam company?” Lucifer sheepishly asked Michael.
Michael just gave him an unimpressed look as a response. Really? Was his brother really asking him this?
“I know that’s what I’m here for, but it’s just that lately… Adam hasn’t appreciated my company…”
“And his wife?”
“They’re not getting along, you know, as per usual ahaha,” Lucifer rubbed the back of his neck, not really looking Michael in the eye.
Michael squinted at his brother suspiciously. He could feel it. His brother, the ever trouble-maker, was hiding something. Again. What did he do now?
“At least just for a while? I think he hasn’t been taking care of himself, so I’m a bit worried.  Plus you’re one of the few angels who regularly visited the garden. Just… go check up on Adam to make sure he’s alright, ok?,” Lucifer pleaded.
As annoying as his brother was, Michael always found it hard to refuse him help. Sure, Lucifer was a troublemaker, but he meant no harm. Clumsy, but not malicious.
And so, Michael was here, checking up on Adam. Now what should he do? He didn’t really spend time with the first humans nor did he pay them attention. Damn his brother for leaving his mess for him to clean up. Why was Lucifer always like this?
Michael sighed, he really wasn’t sure what to do. “I heard you’ve been refusing Lucifer and Lilith’s company.”
Adam stiffened. Oh no, were they in trouble? He was hurt by what the two did, but that didn’t mean he wanted them punished.
Noticing his silence, Michael continued, “You don’t have to tell me why if that’s what you want. But you need to take care of yourself.” He reached behind him and offered the first man an apple. “Here. Regain some of your strength, then let’s go outside. I’m sure the animals missed you.”
Adam looked at the apple offered to him. He really didn’t feel like eating or going out of the cave. But this wasn’t Lucifer or Lilith, and who was he to refuse the angel of justice? Besides, he did miss the animals as well.
Adam took the apple from Michael, “Okay.”

"Do you want to go see the stars?" Azriel asks Selaene, one arm firmly around her body as the young female is crouched on his chest. She lets out a moan of dissent.
"Mhh, no, Azzie, it's too cold." The last of her thoughts is to pull away from her warm, comforting male. His laughter rings in her ears, warming not only her body but also her heart.
Azriel rise softly at her response, his eyes sparkling with fondness. He gently pressed a kiss to the top of her head before replying, "I know it's cold, but I promise it'll be worth it."
Despite her protests, the Illyrian warrior began to coax her off the bed, his arms encircling her in a firm yet tender embrace, shielding her from the chill. "Trust me, Selaene," he murmured, his voice a low, reassuring rumble against her ear. "Just a few minutes, and then I'll warm you right back up."
"It's a miracle my mother and brother let you spend the night here, let alone let us out!" She says clinging even more tightly to him. But of course his strength outweighs hers, and he manages to shake her off without too much trouble.
"This is going to be fun." Even Selaene's adorable little pout doesn't seem to change his mind, and she stops trying to change his mind and prepares to have to literally freeze to death.
Azriel chuckled again, amused by her stubborn determination to remain ensconced in bed. But her protest, however adorable, was no match for his strength. He gently prised her fingers from his tunic and pulled her to her feet, his large hands warm and comforting against her smaller ones.
"You won't freeze, I promise," he reassured her with a smile, his tone tender yet steadfast. "And think of the view. It'll be worth it, I swear."
"Ugh, fine. You're meanie." The male shakes her hands again before dragging her out of the room with far too heavy steps, forcing Selaene to shush him and warn him of her mother's presence in the house. They both giggle. Despite the cold, the female is delighted with the experiences Azriel is offering her to have: she has always dreamed of teenage love, and never thought it possible because of Rhysand, but instead here she is, sneaking out of the house trying to hold back laughter with the love of her life.
They put on their coats quickly exchanging excited glances from time to time, just like two novice kids. Selaene feels her cheeks heat up under his eyes, but she doesn't mind the feeling. She is extremely careful in opening the front door, and they both hold back a surprised sigh at the colder-than-usual air.
Azriel wrapped an arm around her shoulders once they were outside, drawing her close to his side to share his warmth. The cold air whipped through their hair and stung their skin, but they were both too giddy to care. Selaene glanced up at him, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Lead the way, oh fearless illyrian," she teased, her voice light and airy despite the chill. He laughed in response, the sound rich and deep, and began guiding her through the inky darkness towards their destination.
They walk for a couple of minutes, and both have their eyes fixed on the ground, focused on trying not to fall or trip over obstacles hidden by the tall, thick snow. The only audible noises are the crunch of their footsteps and any animals in the Steppes. Selaene looks away from the ground to observe the male beside her. His cheeks are slightly flushed, and the moon accentuates his masculine but elegant features. She wonders how it is possible that such a handsome Fae could at the same time be so brutish and violent as an Illyrian. Azriel looks down at her, noticing her gaze and meeting her eyes. The corner of his mouth quirks up into a small smirk.
"See something you like, sweetheart?" he teases, his voice low and rumbling. Despite the cold, his warmth emanates from him and envelops her like a blanket.
Selaene feels her cheeks burn hotter, but she forces a small huff of indignation, trying to seem unperturbed. "Just wondering how a brute like you can also be so... attractive."
The shadows grow thicker around her body, and she wonders if she said the wrong thing, but then a laugh shakes his shoulders, infecting her as well.
"A brute like me?" He asks with false indignation. The Fae chuckles and feels her cheeks go hot from the poor choice of words she used.
"I mean... such a violent warrior, but so handsome. Ugh, let it go."
Azriel's chuckle deepens at her attempt at saving face. He tightens his grip around her shoulders, pulling her closer against his side.
"So I'm a handsome brute, huh?" he says, his voice a rough, amused drawl. "I'll take that as a compliment."
He glances down at her, his eyes glimmering with mischief, as he says: "But believe me, sweetheart, I can be plenty gentle. When I want to be."
The comment hangs in the air for a long time, the walk returned to silence. A couple of minutes later, Azriel extends a hand to her. Selaene catches the invitation to fly: something that has become habitual between them. It is something that started a short time ago, but it has quickly become one of her favorite things. She's never been a big fan of flying across the Steppes, which are so icy that they leave her wings numb every time, but with Azriel it's an almost romantic activity, and fun beyond manners.
Selaene takes his hand gratefully, the feel of his touch sending a shiver down her spine that has nothing to do with the cold. She braces herself for the familiar stomach-flipping sensation of being lifted from the ground.
As they soar through the night sky, the world below them transformed into a blanket of sparkling snow and endless darkness, she finds herself drawn to the male flying beside her. The way the moonlight dances across his features brings a smile to her face, and she instinctively moves closer to him, reveling in the warmth of his body. She takes a moment to admire the view: the sky was colored with endless shades of green and purple and blue, the colors mixed with the stars.
"You know I'm perfectly capable of flying myself, and you don't have to carry me everywhere?"
Azriel glances down at her, his eyes sparkling with a hint of mischief. "Oh, I know you are," he replies, his voice low and teasing. "But where's the fun in that? I quite like having an excuse to hold onto you."
He shifts his grip on her, his arms tightening around her waist in a possessive gesture. "Besides, you're far too pretty to be flying on your own, sweetheart."
As the conversation gradually falls silent, Selaene allows herself to bask in the warmth generated by Azriel's siphons. The blue, glowing orbs cast a subtle but noticeable amount of heat.
The breeze they produce is surprisingly gentle, gently caressing her skin and providing momentary respite from the damp cold. Even the touch of the shadows, usually cold and menacing, feels almost soothing against her skin.
Before she realizes it, and before she falls sleep in his arms, they land on a rock at the top of a mountain. As soon as the potretion offered by the siphons ceases, a shiver caresses her back, but Azriel is quick and encircles her body with his arms, giving her some of his warmth. The shadows follow their master's actions, dancing alongside their two united figures. Selaene lets out a content sigh as Azriel wraps her in his warm embrace, the shadows dancing lazily around them.
The top of the mountain is barren and stark, save for the faint illumination provided by the moon overhead. Selaene glances up, her eyes catching the celestial body framed by the open expanse of sky. "It's beautiful," she whispers, her voice soft and awed.
Azriel's arms tighten around her, pulling her closer against him. "It is," he murmured, his breath warm against her ear. "But not nearly as beautiful as you."
"Silly," she comments, giving him a playful pat on the arm. She takes a moment to admire the view properly. Being on top of the mountain gives her a view of several villages.
Azriel watches as Selaene turns her gaze to the view before them, her eyes wide with wonder as she takes in the spectacle of the villages far below. In the moonlit night, they look like tiny constellations spread across the earth, sparkling and shimmering in the darkness, adding to the colorful lights that reflect on the white snow.
He allows her a few moments of quiet contemplation, enjoying the weight of her body against his. When she finally turns her gaze back to him, he asks, "What are you thinking, sweetheart?"
Her eyes rest on him from over her shoulder. The moon reflects on his features making it almost magical, the stars in his pupils making him decades younger. It's such an intimate moment, she thinks, with the shadows drawing them together and their bodies clutched to each other. The atmosphere is surreal, it is as if there is ... more in the air. Azriel feels it too, but whatever he is feeling is definitely more intense than Selaene. He suddently opens his eyes wide and backs away, leaving her cold and confused, almost if he just got burned. A thousand paranoia invades her mind. Has she done something wrong?
Selaene's heart flutters nervously as she gazes at him, searching his eyes for any indication of what's going through his mind. She can practically feel the thoughts swirling through her own mind, wondering if she's done something wrong to cause this sudden shift in his behavior.
"Azzie?" She asks in a trembling voice, but her beloved's eyes are distant. She takes a step closer, tries to take his hands in hers, but Azriel flinches as if scalded. He does not meet her eyes, but his face still has a shocked expression, the wrinkles in his forehead deepened. It is as if he is in a trance, and you have no idea how to bring him to reality. His shadows swirl around him agitatedly, out of control. His heart beats extremely fast.
"Azriel, what's wrong?" she asked, her voice trembling. "Please, talk to me. What's going on?"
Only now does he seem to recover, if only slightly. Words escape his lips, but she is unable to comprehend them.
"You're... you're my mate..."
Selaene's heart lurches in her chest at his words. Mate?
Her mind whirls, trying to process the implications of what he's said. She's always heard of Fae mates, the profound connection between two souls destined to be together. But the way he's acting, it's almost as if the realization has hit him like a wave, leaving him disoriented and... scared?
Approaching and bringing a hand to his face, this time Azriel does not seem to retreat. Her heart now beats as fast as his.
Azriel finally seems to snap out of his daze, his eyes focusing on her. He allows her to place a gentle hand on his cheek, the warmth of her touch grounding him in the present.
He let out a shaky breath, the words tumbling out of him in a rush, "I... I don't... when I touched you... I felt... I felt..." He trailed off, his eyes searching hers, filled with a mixture of awe and fear. And love, so full of love, she realizes.
She could see the storm of emotions roiling within him, the confusion and wonder warring against each other.
"I know, I know, Azzie. I-I can feel it too, now." Tears form on her eyes. Azriel's expression morphs from confusion to astonishment in an instant, his gaze locked onto hers. The realization that she can sense their bond too makes it real.
"You... you do?" he whispers, his voice hoarse with emotion. He reaches out tentatively towards her, his fingers tracing the curve of her jaw, as if he's trying to make sure. As the words reach his ears, a myriad of emotions play across Azriel's face - surprise, joy, relief, and a hint of something deeper that he can't yet place.
He takes another step closer to her, his hands now caressing her face, his touch gentle yet firm. He looks into her eyes, as if searching for any trace of a lie, but instead, he finds a mirror of his own feelings staring back at him.
"You...you're my...my mate," he repeats, the words tasting foreign yet right on his tongue.
As the realization fully sinks in, a wave of joy washes over them, settling comfortably in their hearts. The bond between them seems to flare to life, a brilliant light that shines between their souls, and the shadows swirling around them begin dancing in a lively, almost celebratory manner.
Everything suddenly seems to fall into place, as if fate itself had been guiding them towards this very moment. Azriel pulls her closer, his arms encircling her in a tight embrace once more. "Mate" He whisper still in disbelief. He repeats the word, as if testing the way it feels on his tongue. "Mate"
The word hangs in the air between them, imbued with a new weight and significance. He gazes down at Selaene with a mixture of wonder and tenderness, as if seeing her in a whole new light.
"We're...we're mates," he says again, more confidently this time, as if he's finally accepting the truth of it. Selaene laughs, the sound rich and joyful. "Yes, Azzie. Yes, we are. You're my mate." Azriel's expression softens further, the corners of his mouth curving into a genuine, loving smile. He reaches up a hand, cupping her cheek gently, before bringing his forehead to rest against hers.
He closes his eyes, a shuddering breath escaping him, as he absorbs the weight of it all.
"I'm your mate," he repeats as if to himself, the final piece of the puzzle clicking into place, filling a void he didn't know existed until now.

Vampire in the Garden
[Yandere M. x Gn reader] tw. noncon, blood, MDNI Nfsw under the cut 1.6k words
Tumblr media
You're annoyed and yet flattered to have such a suitor. He's the mysterious marquis who hardly attends social gatherings, and yet he appeared in your garden near nightly. How scandalous!
But he managed to endear himself to you despite the odd visiting hours, and you found yourself waiting up later and later into the evening to greet him. His ashen skin shone even when the moon was new, and he had such a charming smile upon his visage that you found it hard to refuse him.
The marquis sent you gifts often. Flowers from his personal greenhouse, suits and gowns tailored to your form, books that you expressed interest in reading in passing from your nightly chats, and small trinkets and gems would arrive the morning after you awoke. It was truly flattering, and you felt your heart flutter softly each time you graze fingertips now.
You asked him to attend a ball with you, and he did. It caused quite the stir when the wealthy, reclusive man steps into the grand hall only moments after the sun set. He smiled, and you returned the gesture. You could hardly pay attention to the murmurs of the crowd when he had so quickly whisked you away onto the dance floor. He was so beautiful under candlelight that you were left breathless. It was almost unfair how his dark eyes could sparkle with such golden intensity when they looked at you.
He pulled you aside to a moonlit balcony after the music died down, and he slipped a ring on your finger.
"I would be delighted if you would so deign to have me as your husband, my dear," He murmured as if he was a man begging for food, for the right to have something needed to live. He clutched you to his chest in a manner so intimate that you wondered how either of you had ever managed to stay so far apart before. It was quite improper of you at the time, yet you answered not with words to his query but instead a passionate meeting of the lips.
You were married shortly after.
It had been a grand yet private affair, and your things were boxed and packaged, loaded into a carriage, and you were taken deep into the countryside where your new spouse's estate resided. You weren't used to being so isolated from people, and it was odd getting used to living outside of city life, but you weren't one to complain.
Living with Victor, your husband, was smooth and sweet. You found that he tended to sleep during the day and dine, work, and pamper you with affection once the sky streaked orange and dark navy blues. He was truly ecstatic to have you, and you found that you were settling nicely into this odd, nocturnal routine.
You tried not to think about the small, odd things that you found cropping up, though. Servants whispered in the halls about shadows that seemed to linger longer than they should. Gossip surely. Victor also sipped from crystalline wine glasses at almost every supper, and you got the faintest whiff of iron from them.
"Darling, I'm curious. You seem to enjoy your drink quite much," You mentioned one evening, and he seemed to freeze and then bashfully hang his head.
"My dear, I am afraid to say that this is far too harsh and offending for your delicate lips," He teased, and you dropped your curious queries in favor of giggling like a young maiden.
Nothing was out of place until one night, when the stars shone brightly upon your rather scantily clad self. You relaxed within the gardens, enjoying the crisp night air. The roses were in full bloom, a brilliant white shade covered the flower beds. It resembled a snowy field, peaceful and fragrant. You hummed a soft tune as you reached down to pick one of the full, unfurled blooms.
"Ow!" You cried out and hissed softly. "Oh... you fiendish little thing," You sighed and glared at the rose which had been painted with a flash of vibrant scarlet from your blood. How foolish you had been. Of course they would have thorns. Now your poor little finger was bleeding freely and staining your formerly pristine nightgown. You clutched your injured hand to your chest and turned to walk back into the manor to tend to the wound when you spotted him.
His face was downcast, shadowed and hidden from you. His shoulders were hunched, and you blinked in confusion.
"Love? Victor?" You called out to him, your pain forgotten momentarily. He was trembling, and you furrowed your brows. Whatever had possessed him to see him so... eerie? You approached him quickly, your hand cradling his face to bring it into the light.
It was then you saw his expression in all his glory.
Victor's fangs were on full display, drooling and snarling your name against the empty night. His golden eyes seemed to glow unnaturally, and you stepped back in shock.
"V-victor?" You squeaked out, unsure of whether or not you should me scared when his full blown pupils dilated and focused on you.
"Oh darling..." he half moaned as he shuddered in your arms. You could feel your heart beating out of your chest when you felt the razor sharp pinpricks of what you could only assume were claws poking into your shoulders when he gripped you far too tightly. Your lips parted in quivering terror, and all of a sudden, he was sinking his teeth into your exposed neck.
You screamed, but no one was there to help you from the man you wed.
Victor, sweet and gentile, was a beast. He shoved you into a nearby rosebush, and you sobbed as he tore your nightclothes from your trembling body. Never in the months you had been courting would you have ever imagined that he could be so brutish. Tears welled in your eyes, and the blood from your finger was smeared across his face from where you had tried to push him off of you.
Scratches littered your body, and you clutched the crook of your neck from where he had bitten into your supple skin. You whimpered as you felt the flat of his tongue lapping over the weeping cuts on your thighs. His hands gripped the plush flesh in a vice, and he spread them with a gratuitous groan.
"Oh darling, oh [name]," he murmured over and over again as he pressed hot, sloppy, open mouthed kisses to the available surface. In your chest, you could feel your heart break at the sight of how utterly depraved your lover was through the thin slivers of lights that showed off his feral expression. Through the darkness, you could still make out his flashing, toothy grin. His lips were caked with your blood, dripping like poisoned honey and planted across your legs and chest in kiss marks like it was some crude imitation of rouge.
The sound of clothing shuffling around reached your ears through the haze of burning pain and cold realization. What had you done? Who had you married? It was as if you were on some twisted mockery of a wedding night. The Victor you had pledged your vows to was not the one latching onto your neck once again. The bed of roses was that of your new consummation, and you wept as your husband stole the innocence of your soul.
He whispered sweet nothings with the grace of a snarling thing, and lined himself up with your entrance. You cried out in anguish as he took you swiftly. It was a violent affair. His slow, languishing style of making love to you was replaced by a feral, primal fucking. He clutched you tightly to him to save you for shredding your back as he thrust in you. He whispered your name reverently, and you begged him for mercy.
By the time he had gotten his fill of both your body and blood, you were on the verge of fainting and limp in his arms. Your vision was hazy and distorted, and your body bloomed with searing pain. You couldn't handle it for much longer, you hole sore and filled with his his essence, and you passed out with the white roses around you dyed with speckles of your lifeline.
When you awoke in the morning, the curtains were drawn tightly as they usually were during the day. Victor was kneeling over your bedside, his face twisted in worry.
"Darling!" He cried out and cupped your face the second he realized you were moving. You flinched from his now delicate touch, no sign of his claws, and he frowned.
"[Name]... oh my love, you must forgive me!" He said with adoring eyes and a saccharine smile. He grabbed your jaw more tightly than he ever would have before. Your entire body was covered in bandages, and you whimpered as he looked at you almost desperately. It was like he was forcing himself into the version of himself that you had become so comfortable around.
"It was a momentary lapse in judgement, though I must admit that I cannot promise it won't happen again," Victor sighed almost wistfully as he draped over your form in a mockery of an affectionate embrace. Instead it felt far too possessive and constrictive than anything he had subjected you to before. He inhaled your scent and buried his face against your hair. "You're far too sweet for me to show such restraint, my love," He laughed. He laughed like the previous night wasn't one of the most horrifying things you had ever encountered.
Maybe when you thought of him yearning for you like you were something he needed to live, perhaps you should've considered it much more harshly.

Chan was pissed. pissed because his crush, is dating a good for nothing drummer.
“a drummer!” Chan exclaimed. “come on, she had better taste!”
“i need some fresh air. i’ll be back in a while.” Chan told his dongsaengs as he walked out of the door.
“you’ll find someone way better hyung!” Hyunjin exclaimed.
“yeah. whatever.” Chan replied irritated.
he walked outside, pausing only to pet Minho’s cat, Soonie.
he walked to the beach.
walking along the coast, he looked up and saw a sparkling bright moon.
it’s light was dancing off the water in front of him.
looking around, he saw billions of stars and he smiled.
he took of his shoes, rolled up his jeans and walked ankle deep into the water.
the water tickled his toes and he smiled again.
a few minutes went by, and he heard someone sigh.
he turned his head, only to look at the most beautiful girl he’d ever seen.
she had dark hair and her eyes were twinkling, the perfect moon reflected in them.
he was speechless. his jaw dropped and he made a funny gagging sound.
the girl didn’t notice him.
Chan got control of himself once more.
maybe Hyune was right. he thought. i’ll find someone better than her. i might already have.
but her breath taking beauty kept him frozen to the sandy floor of the beach.
the girl left after another couple of minutes.
Chan’s eyes followed her until she was out of his sight.
“love at first sight?” he asked himself.
yeah. definitely.
he walked back home with his shoes in his hands and his spirits considerably lifted.
he hosed himself and walked inside. he met Soonie along the hall as Chan picked him up and walked into the living room.
the guys were still sitting there.
“hey guys!” he said.
“woah! someone’s feeling good!” Minho said.
Changbin and Seungmin chuckled.
“good luck hyung.” Felix said.
Chan smiled.
“thanks guys.”
he sat down and pet Soonie who fell asleep on his lap.
“so, what’s she like?” Jisung asked.
“beautiful.” Chan said, going into a trance. lost in thoughts, he smiled vaguely.
Jisung, realizing what was happening, hit Chan with a magazine from the coffee table.
“what did you do that for?” Chan shouted.
“we’re asking you something.” Seungmin said calmly.
“what, i told you she’s beautiful. what else did you ask?”
“i asked where you met her.”
“describe.” Minho commanded.
“i was walking in the water and i heard her and i looked around and then i just, literally, froze.”
“that’s it? you suck.” jeongin said laying back on the couch, feet stretched out on Felix’s lap.
“oh, one more thing!” Chan exclaimed.
“what?” they all sat up, waiting for what their leader and hyung was gonna tell them.
“she had dark hair and big shiny eyes and she’s… perfect.”
“my boy’s in love!” Changbin high-fived Felix as Jisung and Hyunjin wiped their fake tears away.
the eight guys sat in silence for a while.
“i’m off to bed.” Chan said and left his little brothers staring after them.
as Chan jumped into bed and punched his pillow into a more comfortable shape, he realized he had no idea who the girl was, where she lived, or if he’d ever see her again.
Soonie climbed up beside him, and Chan fell asleep thinking of that girl, who was the prettiest he’d ever seen.

the next day, Chan woke up with a plan and a song formed in his mind.
all that i want is you
even if i’m a fool
why do i fall for you
no turning back once we’re connected
he heard a knock on his door and looked up to see Changbin smiling at him.
“nice.” he said.
“thanks, man.” Chan replied.
“so, what’s the plan?” Jisung appeared in the doorway.
“i think he’s moving into these relationships too fast.” came Minho’s voice.
Chan frowned.
“i haven’t been in a relationship in over more than 3 years.”
“so, what was that thing with, uh what was her name again?” Seungmin said, his head poking out the door, as Jeongin agreed with him.
Hyunjin and Minho sighed, shaking their heads.
“are we missing out on something?” Jeongin asked.
“maknae’s, you’re both grounded for five hours.” Changbin face-palmed himself.
“oh ha ha.” were the boys’ reply.
Chan laughed as the boys bickered.
“not our fault we’re always the last ones to know, cause this workaholic here is always in here or his studio at JYP.” Seungmin defended them.
“alright, i’ll try to be less of a workaholic and be more with you guys.” Chan gave in.
“now go get miss mysterious, hyung!” Jeongin said.
“plan says i have to wait.”
“what plan?” Felix’s eyes widened as he looked at the others.
Chan smirked and his eyes flashed.
“ohh, he doesn’t want us to know.” Jisung said pointing at himself and the others.
“ahh, Channie hyung.” Seungmin began. “you’re grounded for fifteen hours.” he winked at the others.
“oh come on! what’d i do now!” Chan asked his dongsaengs exasperatedly.
“you didn’t tell us the plan.” Hyunjin said simply.
“hey, i just thought of it and i’ve got a personal life too, you know!”
“ooh, personal, is it hyung?” Minho said, smirking at Chan.
“uh, what are you guys up to?”
the others grinned.
“guys?” Chan asked with a note of panic in his voice.
the guys ran at Chan and began tickling him.
“guys, guys, stop- stop it. please!” Chan choked out.

the afternoon passed as the guys just hung around their dorm.
the guys shortened Chan’s period of grounded-ness to six hours because he told them what he was going to do.
“okay, listen.” he told the guys as they all sat in a line on the floor, with Chan in front of the tv.
“i’m gonna go to the beach again tonight and most probably, she’s gonna be there. so, i’ll ask her out then.”
Minho burst out laughing.
“do you seriously think she goes for moonlit strolls everyday?”
“hey, lots of people do and i just know she’s gonna be there.” Chan said defensively.
“good luck, hyung.” Seungmin said, patting his shoulder.

at the same time as the day before, Chan left the house, pausing again to pet Soonie and walked to the beach, wishing on the stars as he went that the girl would be there.
just like the last day, he took off his shoes and walked into the water, admiring the moon.
why did it have to be so beautiful?
a girl giggled.
Chan looked, and jumped with joy. the mysterious girl was there!
wow, she’s more beautiful than before. he thought.
Chan walked over to her.
“hi.”
“hello.”
“i’m Chan.”
“hello Chan. i’m Y/n.”
“that’s a beautiful name.”
she giggled again.
“thank you.”
Chan smiled.
“do you come here every day?”
“i, uh, no.”
“really? but i saw you here yesterday too.”
did she?
“oh, well. d- do you wanna know the truth?”
“yeah, sure.”
“okay, look. i saw you here yesterday too and i just couldn’t bring myself to talk to you. i mean, i just couldn’t believe how someone could be so pretty. i’m here just because i thought that you might be here too. i wanted to talk to you.”
thank god it’s dark. Chan thought as he blushed.
“really? w- well, you know. i don’t come here every day either. i just saw you here, and thought i’d see you again today. it’s like love at first sight! know what i mean?” she asked and grinned shiftily at him.
“i know exactly what you mean.” Chan smiled.
she smiled and looked up at the moon.
''can i kiss you?''
''yes.''
Chan leaned down and placed a small kiss on her lips.
he took her hand.
“wanna walk with me?”
“yes.”

“Min! i’m adopting Soonie!” Chan yelled as he entered their dorm.
