The greatest injustice ever faced is that I almost certainly started the still thriving "clown husbandry" tag on here, but any discussion about it (from a know your meme page to a youtube video with 500k views) says it's a joke of "unknown origin" or credited to this post, likely bouncing off of mine (which was actively circulating at the time with like 30k notes):
Tumblr media
This is a tragedy for many reasons, most of all because it wasn't just an offhand joke but actually a direct response to some of the funniest online hate I ever got:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They're erasing the truest history of tumblr: its desperate need to seethe and argue over every obvious joke with more than 10 notes.
anyways here is the canonical pet clown. according to me

love when people shyly tag your post like "ok sorry op to make this about my cringe blorbos but this is kind of bleebus energy......" and bleebus was 100% the character you had in mind while making the post in the first place.

people who only want gay characters to be played by gay actors just dont understand the appeal of two ostensibly straight actors playing two ostensibly straight characters yet having so much chemistry together that they actually want to make out with each other more than just keep with whatever weird subtextual thing is already going on

watching sozin's comet pt. 1 and the question of violence against ozai is genuinely so masterfully done. aang's hesitance to use violence by killing ozai isn't presented as an objective moral high ground. in fact, literally every single other character in the show, the other main characters, the past avatars and even yangchen, all tell him: you have to kill this guy. "only justice will bring peace". sokka straight up tells him to get over it and slices a watermelon representing ozai's head in half without remorse. everyone clearly tells him it is not morally wrong for you to end 100 years of violent imperialism with his death. and he doesn't say, "no. it IS morally wrong and im right and we should vote ozai out!", instead he says "but this is not who i am". the message is not that aang should not kill ozai because killing ozai would be wrong, and by extension that fighting imperialism with violence is wrong. instead, its that aang should not kill ozai because it would be a betrayal of himself, his beliefs and of his culture. in refusing to kill ozai and as the last airbender, he is preserving his identity as an air nomad against the title of avatar, something he has struggled with the balance of since the very first episode. and, his refusal to forsake their cultural principals is a form of resistance against the imperialist genocide that cost him his people in the first place. yeah, they had to make it work like this because its a show for 7 year olds. energy-bending is kind of a cop out because it shows up so late with so little explanation. but compared to any other media that has tackled similar issues since.... ive seen nothing nail else it so hard

One of my first digital pieces (2010) versus one of my recent ones (2024)
We all start somewhere!

"in my next life, i want to be me, and meet you again" is the most heartfilled proclamation of any form of love that ive ever heard... and it's from an action shounen that has people getting killed like it's nothing and had an entire arc of humans getting eaten... said quote is also in said arc. can you believe it.

2012 vs 2023 vs 2025
So this past December marked 13 years since I got into batman and I was feeling a little sentimental when looking at the most recent Crane sketch (which is still a wip). Crane's definitely the one that's evolved the most.
I used to be so proud of the old ones! You can see the chokehold the arkhamverse had on me in 2012 tbh

Look what I found in my drafts!! This is a 13 year old drawing! The only dragonshipping one I have ever done. I’ll leave the original comment below. It was a nice throwback haha I don’t think my style has changed that much.  --- I regret nothing. I actually like wishshipping a lot more but what the hell.  Yes, I know you are all probably screaming but believe it: I ship Katsuya with someone else than Seto!

no bc looking back on the show as an adult makes rufus a way worse fucking villain than he already seemed when I watched this show at the crisp ages of 10-12 years old
Like when I first watched it he of course seems like this Really Bad Guy because he kidnapped one of the main characters (which was absolutely shocking for me as someone who wasn't even allowed to watch spongebob. but could somehow watch this)
but then I look back on it as an adult and like. first of all. I know how young these characters are. when I watched it as a kid they seemed like Cool Mature Teenagers but as an adult it's like. these are babies.
and it hits me that he saw a very vulnerable teenage girl being dismissed and dissuaded by every single adult that she turned to in order to find her missing best friend and poised himself to look like the only adult who took her seriously and wanted to help her. patricia didn't feel like she could trust any of the adults around her because she couldn't. because every adult she turned to at her school prioritized their search for immortality over their responsibilities to keep their students safe (and even the police didn't help her because why would they). because she was surrounded by adults that she realized were "in on" something and she didn't know what it was - she just knew she couldn't trust them to help her. she was angry and desperate and confused and vulnerable and she was a teenage girl being failed by every adult around her.
and the way she was failed by every adult responsible for looking after her made it incredibly easy for a man with the worst intentions possible to. first of all. appear to stalk her. and then make himself seem like someone she can trust by claiming to be a private investigator who is. at this point. the only adult who seems willing to listen and help her try to find her missing best friend. and then when she finally felt like she had someone she could trust and that she was getting close to the answers about her friend. he kidnapped her and held her in an old warehouse for days. and even after her rescue she continued to have nightmares about it
and like. idk. I've said before that if it were rebooted/made with a higher audience then rufus would have been explicitly a groomer a way worse villain but like. as an adult now i'm kind of smacked with the realization of how awful he was to begin with

"I thought we could unite our kingdoms one day. Bring about an alliance, bring about a permanent peace... through you."
How
How?
HOW????????
What did Odin have in mind when he took Loki? How was he going to forge that alliance? Through marriage? Was he going to tell Laufey that the son he thought to be dead this whole time was actually alive and well and living as the second prince of Asgard? And then he'd offer to marry Loki to someone in Jotunheim so he could take Laufey's throne?
Laufey had already rejected Loki as a newborn, why on earth would he want to have his son back especially when he was basically Odin's puppet? And another thing, would the Jotuns accept Loki as their ruler? He's a runt and grew up in Asgard being raised by Odin, a man they no doubt hate with their entire souls, what made Odin think that his plan would work?
Not to mention the fact that Loki himself would probaly go fucking INSANE once he realized that his purpose in life was to be Odin's puppet in that frozen wasteland while Thor was destined to sit on the golden and glorious throne of Asgard
"But those plans no longer matter"
When
When did they stop mattering?
When did Odin realize that what he had in mind when he adopted Loki would never work out? When did he start seeing Loki as his son instead of the political pawn he was initially?
In WML Loki says that Odin didn't like to send him very often in missions throughout the nine realms, I know the book is it's own universe but maybe that's how things were in the movie timeline too, Odin didn't want to have Loki deeply involved in the politics of the nine realms and decided to just confine him to the palace
"So I'm no more than another stolen relic, locked up here until you might have use of me?"
This could indicate that Loki was in fact trapped inside the palace at least to some level, only allowed to leave and travel through the nine realms when Odin approved it unlike Thor who was probably free to come and go as he pleased, so Loki had only the company of his mother (bc he didn't have friends of his own) while being desperate to have his father's attention and approval, desperate to have a chance to prove that he could be just as competent as Thor (if not more) as a ruler and still being treated as some kind of possession instead of a person
This is tragic but so delicious at the same time, and I know this makes more sense for movie Loki bc series Loki is very different from the original canon, I kinda miss the hungry look he had in Thor 1 tho, that boy who was just standing in corners, lonely and rejected, with so many storms inside himself that barely anyone could notice bc he kept them hidden under a facade of calmness and politeness, that stiff posture of someone always living under pressure, the neutral expression in his face and the ocasional picking of the hands that betrayed how nervous he truly was, being silent and only speaking to people when he was spoken to, the layers and more layers of clothing, covering everything from neck to toes, the submissive and kinda fearful look in his eyes whenever his father spoke to him (until of course the Jotunheim incident), the curly hair severely straightened so he could appear more collected and calm, so many things about him fascinate me, I could talk about it for hours...
How I wish we could go back to the 2011-2013 Loki era omg there's so much potential and things to explore there, take me back to those simpler days
