I'm centrine, facing eviction and currently residing in a tent in Rafah with my children due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Your support means the world to us, and any donation to help us secure a stable living situation would be truly appreciated. Thank you for considering, and we will be eternally grateful for your assistance.
the fact that you're willing to take advantage of a literal genocide to make a quick buck off of kind people is fucking disgusting. i hope you learn that making money off of human suffering is atrocious and change your ways. fuck you.

Bangtan weekly report
Jungkook:
The surprise mini-concert in Times Square made up for what the Today Show lacked and also birthed "Times Square Jungkook" in tight black pants. The circle is circling back around (thank god). Watch it here.

This is just a narrow view of the hordes of people who showed up:
Tumblr media
Bless his heart, he had no idea he would become a meme just by being happy. The pure joy... I love it:
Tumblr media
And Kookie at Barnes & Noble amazed they had BTS debut album. Looks like they had every album in stock. Watch the IG reel here.

Jimin and Taehyung aka Vmin:
Nothing says the holidays like an egg and a tangerine especially at 2 a.m. in the middle of the night... "just because."

RM:
...asks THE most important fashun question in the history of fashun... snake socks, is it a fashun Do or Don't?
I'd say mostly a big fat don't at $850 a pair.
(This is more eccentric than Kookie's toe socks.)

BTS:
Yet to Come Busan concert on Amazon Prime with new edits AND ENGLISH SUBS and including (FINALLY) HD close ups of Jimin singing his parts in Butterfly:

I’m the passenger ending anon and I was more curious abt the last 3 minutes or so that’s all in a rosy “things are fine :)” kind of glow, it just seemed so disconnected from the rest of the movie. I LOVED bensons end scene I was eating it up Then hard cut to Things Are Ok :) Idk ! that’s why I asked bc ur no 1 passenger scholar on my dash
lol my bad, i probably should have realized that by "the ending" you meant the part that comes at the end 😅
i'll give a middling answer: it's alright. i mean, let's be honest, the passenger's strength isn't it's screenplay. there's a lot of good story in what mr. jack stanley wrote, but some of the pacing's a little bit awkward and a few things here and there don't make a ton of sense. that all kinda comes to a head in the last scene. but i don't want to throw too many stones, because i'm definitely no great writer, and i've alway found endings especially difficult. and ultimately, i do think the ending works.
even though it's a rough transition from the penultimate scene to the final scene, i appreciate that they took some time to show the positive aftereffects of randy's no good very bad day. there's a definitely a lot of information packed into that very short scene, and some of it feels cool, some of it feels weird. i'm glad that randy's standing up to his mom and going to hang out with friends. but who are these friends? did he have friends before that he just didn't mention? or did he make new ones between his kidnapping and now? his arm's still in a sling, so it feels like not that much time has passed . . . i like that he's kept in touch with ms. beard, but i hope he's doing a little more job-wise than just babysitting for her. his scene with hardy in the beginning showed us that he's in dire need of imagining a substantial future for himself. maybe he could teach! or become a librarian! i do like that they brought in ms. beard's daughter tessa, because for me the movie is all about children. it's about hurt children! and it's about how we need to do a better job of loving and helping and protecting our children! i know some people think it's pretty morbid and fucked up that randy teaches tessa the game that took her mom's eye out, but i actually think it's great that randy can accept that, yeah, it was just an accident, and he can trust himself to play this game for children without history repeating itself. and if it does, if tessa takes his eye out, then he can help her be strong and forgiving of herself like he's learned to be.
i'll admit that's it's all a little bit too tidy and saccharine. so i'm grateful that there are hints that randy's isn't totally fixed. if anything, he's got new, sexier, and possibly even worse problems. this is evidenced in three ways: he's got benson's jacket, someone was doodling a picture of two guys in a car (i've seen some people posit that randy drew the picture, but i hear that and think *jenna maroney voice* "did you draw that, randy? you might need help, because that is awful for an adult." i also think it's hilarious and sad and wonderful if randy found a way to tell tessa about him and benson and she illustrated it), and then finally we get the last shot as icing on the "oh boy this guy's gonna be fucked up forever" cake.
yes the ending is a bit clunky and perhaps even tonally out of step, but the last shot kinda made the whole movie for me. when i first saw the camera pan over to the stuffed animals and "supersoaker md50" kicked in, i SCREAMED! that was so killer! it was heart-wrenching! it was funny! and it was a good time! just like the whole movie! so yeah, the entire end scene maybe isn't all that great, but that last shot was. idk how i would have made the ending any better, so one great final shot is good enough for me.

So you know how Goldie just LOVES to fuck with Scrooge. Like turning up at Glomgoldes gala, following him to steal his gold, stealing his map, crashing his “vacation” etc.
Like why would she stop there. Even if it isn’t 2017 cannon that she owns the Blackjack it is pretty accepted in the fan fiction community that Goldie owns a chain of Blackjack hotels.
So she’s in the business world. And I saw this in a fic a while ago but I can’t remember which one where Goldie loves to fuck with him in the business world and it’s basically foreplay for them like they love and I want to see more of it
I am absolutely determined to find this fic.

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito sold shares of beer giant Anheuser-Busch InBev as conservatives were ditching the Bud Light brewer over its partnership with a transgender social media influencer.
On the same day that Alito sold Anheuser-Busch, he then bought the same amount of stock in Molson Coors, a company with a history of facing political boycotts of its own, the filing shows.
The transactions have bred fresh accusations that Alito, one of the high court’s six conservatives, is engaging in or aligning with partisan politics, despite a recently adopted code of conduct that directs the justices to “refrain from political activity.”
Alito sold between $1,000 and $15,000 of AB InBev’s stock on Aug. 14, 2023, according to a financial disclosure filing for the justice that was recently made visible through a federal judicial database.
Tumblr media
The Supreme Court did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment on Alito’s transaction report or the timing of his stock activity.
At the time of Alito’s stock sale, Anheuser-Busch was still grappling with a monthslong campaign to boycott Bud Light after the company partnered with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney in an April 2023 social media campaign.
The partnership threw the world’s largest beermaker into the center of a broader fight over transgender rights and acceptance in the U.S. — and stoked a backlash from both conservatives and supporters of Mulvaney, who was reportedly stalked and targeted with death threats amid the controversy.
In May 2023, Modelo replaced Bud Light as the top-selling beer in the U.S. Data from around that time showed sales of Bud Light had dropped nearly 25% year over year.
AB InBev nevertheless reported better-than-expected profit in the second quarter of 2023, and as of May appears to have emerged from the boycott efforts virtually unscathed.
Alito’s switch to Coors is also noteworthy in light of the company’s history of facing boycotts from Mexican-Americans, Blacks and the LGBTQ community over workplace practices.
Alito’s investment activities came to light as the associate justice is facing a swell of criticism over a New York Times report that an upside-down U.S. flag — a symbol used by supporters of the pro-Trump “Stop the Steal” conspiracy — was flown at his home in the days after the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Alito denied any involvement in inverting the flag. He told the Times that his wife, Martha-Ann Alito, “briefly” did so “in response to a neighbor’s use of objectionable and personally insulting language on yard signs.”
But that statement has not quelled Alito’s critics, some of whom are now demanding he explain the timing of his sale of Anheuser-Busch.
“This sale, given the timing and much like an upside-down flag, can be construed as a political statement,” said Gabe Roth, executive director of the nonprofit judicial watchdog group Fix the Court, in an email to CNBC.
“I believe Supreme Court justices should refrain from making political statements — even oblique ones or even ones their wife or broker may have made on their property or in their brokerage accounts, respectively,” Roth said.
Roth noted that the beer companies in question have no pending business before the Supreme Court that he can think of.
But if Alito or his broker were truly reacting to the Bud Light boycott or the surrounding culture war, Roth said, then the stock sale “speaks more about the justice’s media intake and where that puts him on the political spectrum.”
“If the sale was in response to the Bud Light controversy last year, he might have an appearance-of-bias problem when it comes to future court cases related to trans rights,” Roth said.
The transaction notice was one of several that were posted to the Federal Judicial Financial Disclosure Reports database last week, and then removed without explanation. Roth said their disappearance was “possibly due to the newness of the system.” The reports had reemerged on the database as of late Monday morning.
The filings were first reported earlier Monday by the legal blog Law Dork.
The court is set to soon deliver a ruling on whether former President Donald Trump will gain presidential immunity from criminal charges related to his efforts to overturn his loss to President Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
The court, which bears a six-to-three conservative majority after Trump appointed three justices, is not expected to grant Trump’s sweeping immunity claim that a former president cannot be charged for any official acts they perform in office. But the justices in oral arguments in April seemed skeptical of parts of federal prosecutors’ case against Trump.

Now for something completely different: The AI Problem with Etsy
I was minding my own business and scrolling through Pinterest, when I came across this:
Tumblr media
First you think, that's a pretty dress. What could be wrong with it? Turns out, quite of few things. I will admit that the AI is pretty good here, but you can't help but notice how stiff the "model" is. Then, the cracks start to appear. The eyes seem to be looking in different directions. The background looks too unfocused. The hair doesn't make sense.
And then you get to the dress itself.
I am not a professional seamstress or dressmaker. I sew as a hobby, so please take my word with a grain of salt. However, I know enough about the basics of sewing and construction to tell you that something funky is going on. First the price. The seller slashed the price from $475 USD to a measly $142.50 and doesn't include shipping. The most expensive dress I have made would have set me back at least $100 if not for the fact that I purchased the fabric from the craft I worked at during that time. It was a simple medieval gown of linen. A ball gown with corset lacing, lace, boning, gathers, and at least 6+ yards of fabric for the skirt alone would set you back a couple hundred dollars just for supplies alone. The total cost of the dress with all the supplies plus labor would make the item cost higher than the $475 figure.
This wedding gown looks like what a $500+ ballgown should be.
Tumblr media
The dress retails at $579 plus $97 for shipping. If a dress originally worth $475, it's going to include a pricy shipping and handling tag. And the only reason someone would make a dress worth that much money and knock that price down by 70% is if they're going out of business and desperately need to get rid of their stock. Here's a thing about retail, most often if they're giving you such a big sale, it's because the retail value is much lower than what they're selling it to you for. They already bumped up the price to cover the cost of shipping and handling, although in the case of most corporate big box department stores I suspect it has more to do with making more money when they trick you into thinking that you're getting a deal for a dress that should probably match the sale price and not the marked up one.
Let's get back to the original dress. There's a couple of discrepancies right off the bat. The gathered ruffles at the top mysteriously end in the middle of the bodice. The bodice looks like it has three strings trying to imitate corset lacing and I can't seem to figure out how it would be sewn. I don't see seams for boning and you would definitely need some boning structure for a dress like this just for stability while wearing it, especially if you're wearing a strapless bra. The lace at the end of the sleeves melt, literally MELT, into the other fabric instead of, you know, being SEWN? It also doesn't look right from a design stand point. You have all that gorgeous pink satin and you slap on cheap lace where there is lace nowhere else on the dress?
This is another picture from the same listing but it looks like a similar but very different dress.
Tumblr media
The bodice style is completely different going from a more heart shape to a straight across. The front lacing is even more funky, the sleeves somehow got worse and are completely different from the first image, and the "model's" face looks like it's melting if you look closer at the image.
Here is the supposed back:
Tumblr media
Even with my amateur eyes, this back is incongruent with the design of the front and looks like a new kind of dress. The sleeves have changed yet again and the lacing is a horrifying mess of Lovecraftian proportions.
Everything about this listing is alarming. There's only one color, the size chart is very small (only 0 to size 12), there's no shipping, and no refunds. Sometimes you need to be cautious around sellers of any goods that offer exchanges rather than cash refunds. There might be legitimate reasons a good seller doesn't do refunds, so you need to take that into account before labeling someone a scammer. If you see "no refunds, only exchanges" and there are other red flags, then you would most likely be in the right to call that seller a scammer. Even with a 70% "sale", $132 is a lot of money to throw away on a dress that might not exist and by the time the store gets shut down, you might not get your money even if in the off chance Etsy or whatever platform decides to throw you a bone and compensate your loss.
The same store has a much more obvious AI "dress" they're trying to sell.
Tumblr media
The "model" is even worse. The eyes are definitely going into different directions and the mouth literally looks slapped on. I'm not an expert in photography or anatomy, but there's also something funny going on with the legs. Should legs look like that? The listing calls this one a "Vintage Style Gothic Medieval Dress, Halloween Party Costumes for Women, Vampire Cosplay Long U shaped Skirt, Baggy Sleeves Roleplay Tunic". First, if the listing of a clothing item is a fucking novel, it's either fake or shoddily made in China by an underpaid seamstress in a sweatshop. Second, nobody calls that a "U-shaped" skirt. That's not a thing.
Tumblr media
The proper terminology would be a "high-low" or "mullet" skirt. I have never heard of "U-shaped" skirt before.
The front of the dress is supposed to be laced, I think? But the design loses cohesion. If you tried to zoom in, the entire image gets blurry. The dress, the background, the "model." It all looks super funky, and not in a fun way. I can't tell if they were going for corset lacing, rouching, gathering, or all three at once. The AI mess up big time. And of course, all the images in the listing look like similar but different dresses.
I'm including a link to the shop in the hopes if anyone sees this and cares enough to report the shop and all its listings to Etsy. I don't know if they'll do anything about it since they seem to care more about making money than protecting consumers these days, but it can at least send awareness that we don't want scammers and fake artists using AI to hurt people.

Garden Report & Frugal Living 24.06.08
Some of you may have caught the post about Bronte dying (Monday June 3). She had a semi impacted crop (small stiff fruitless plum leaf with grass wrapped around it) which was sour crop issue and since I was down myself, I didn't catch it. It was noted that she wasn't feeling good which wasn't a big concern with the cold & wet one day, hot & dry the next day. The kids were letting the hens out and putting them up at night. We tried to save her but she was too far gone -- she died while we were trying to rescue (her comb had already turned purple and she was drooling which I could see from the back door). I will put a couple of video links at the end of this entry for those that are interested.
It is rather interesting watching the two remaining hens. They are working over their concerns about being without big bossy butt Bronte. They are now bonding as BFFs instead of Rossetti always pecking/charging at Alcott trying to keep a hierarchy. They go everywhere together and if separated it is very temporary with little clucks and songs of concern and encouragement. It took Bronte to die for them to realize that they 'need' and care for each other in their now very small flock. I see them now cuddling during there rest and at night.
Coming back from treatment we did stop and got two hog panels. We will be arching those. Once is for the roses (Joseph's Coat and a white ramble) because I can't get the ramble completely back up the camilla (it came down in a wind storm) and didn't get Joseph pruned back and was not wanting to put holes in the house to keep it upward. This was a quick easy solution to make a rose arch with the stock panel (rebar to anchor the panels in place). The second is for the clematis that is all over the writer's camp and carriage house roofs. Once the nestlings fledged, we can remove all that tangle of magnolia, Jerusalem Rose and clementas to expose the roof again (hoping still to get the settlement money before EOS and new roof).
With all the late rain there is an explosion/ boost to foliage. I can see a jungle again transforming what was my garden into a green lair from my bedroom window. It is taking on a wildness that the birds are delighting in.
So before I close this post, here are those videos:

for a while now my boss has been constantly trying to tell me that I'm wrong about things that she doesn't understand and that make zero sense for her to challenge me on, and her go-to example for why she has plenty of reason to distrust my knowledge is a mistake I made right before I ended up on the hospital because my brain was getting pressurized again and fucking me up. she brings it up to me about once a week
this is unacceptable enough to talk to her boss about it, right? cause I already emailed him.
