Day 1
Hii
I feel really good today. I came home from college early and had time to workout.
I did 20 minutes of beginner yoga to stretch and warm up. I’ve never really tried yoga before and wasn’t really sure how it worked. But I found a really good video on YouTube for beginners yoga. I’m going to go through the same page to see other videos they have that I can try. Basically, I really wanted a good warm up/stretch before beginning my workout because warmups are extremely important and you should never skip them. It really helped me in the next full body workout I did. This was a 15 min full body workout on pop sugar fitness page on YouTube. It was good because the only thing you needed was a mat (even that wasn’t absolutely necessary) and a chair. It was okay but I didn’t love it. I didn’t have enough time to find something else and will probably try tonight to find a workout for tomorrow.
I wasn’t absolutely exhausted after a workout which is good. This isn’t actually Day 1 of exercising its day 2. I did a workout a day before as well but it was very very light so I’m not counting it. I’m really properly motivated to do this. I can’t go through another six months of back aches, neck aches and having zero energy. Now that I have the workout out of the way, I took a nap (which was too long and completely unnecessary) and now I’m working on a personal statement for the university I’m applying to. I’m actually motivated to revise as well, which is good because I have a habit of leaving stuff to the last minute.
I’ll link the videos I used below in case anyone is reading my dumb blog (lol). If you are, feel free to message me and give any advice and tips you have to stay fit as a student.

“I prefer to workout at a gym.” I have heard that time and time again about why people don’t want to invest in at-home workouts. But the reality is, just because something is designed to be used in the comfort of your own home doesn’t mean you can’t do it in the gym. Exhibit A 👆🏻this photo. I do ALL my cardio workouts in a gym and sometimes I do my strength workouts in a gym. Sometimes I will take my phone to stream them, other times I print out the worksheets that come with the programs and just listen to music. I mean, how many times have people bought gym-based programs or used bodybuilding.com to find routines? My point is, don’t let the idea that something was designed to be done “at home” turn you off from investing in a program that works, just because you like to go to the gym. - - - - #gymandjuice #bootygainz🍑 #fitpsychologist #studentfitness #getyourworkoutin

Hey students! 👋🏽 ⠀ 💪Building muscle really comes down to being CONSISTENT with your training and nutrition. ⠀ Full Day of Eating: 💚Total Calories - 3,200kcal 🥩Protein - 200g (800kcal) 🍠Carbs - 420g (1,680kcal) 🍳Fat - 80g (720kcal) ⠀ When setting up your plan make sure it’s realistic. You will only build muscle if you’re consistent with your training. ⠀ A realistic and well programmed regime will help you adhere and hence stay consistent with the process. ⠀ Additionally, be patient. Log your workouts and focus on progressing with your lifts (reps/sets or intensity). ⠀ I’m super excited to announce that I’ll be releasing a training and nutrition program for young adults looking to build muscle and transform their mindset. ⠀ It will be broken down into 2 parts: Body and Mind. If you have any requests for the program and want to be part of the creation of it, please send me a DM! ⠀ What’s your favorite muscle building meal? Also would you like to see the recipes for these? @kyle.fitness_ _____________________ #teenbodybuilding #leangains #bulking #studentfitness #studentgains #iifym #flexibledieting #nutrition #nutritiontips #unifitness #musclefood #hypertrophy #strengthtraining #fatlossjourney #fatlosshelp #bolafit #getfitwithbola #bolafitnutrition _________________________________

Day 3,4 &5
Day 3 workout went really well. I did 40 minutes of yoga with a video from yoga with Adriene, I’ll link it below. Next I did 15 minutes of a walking workout??? I don’t know what to call it lol but I’ll link it as well. I really really enjoyed it. I’m thinking I’ll repeat it twice after yoga.
Day 4&5 didn’t really go so well. I usually like doing my workouts in the lounge when I’m alone at home because that is where I have the most space. But since my family is home as well on the weekend I couldn’t really do it. Plus there’s really no encouragement and just a lot of fat shaming and telling me that what I’m doing is wrong. They’re worried that I’ll just get muscles from doing these workouts and look manly. So I got told off for doing them. It’s so dumb because I just started and all I’m doing is beginners yoga and light exercise. I got told to only use the stationary bike or walk which is honestly so boring. One of the reasons I was able to to continue with these exercises for four consecutive days (which I’ve never done with anything before) is because I enjoyed them so much. Also this whole mentality of being manly or feminine looking is stupid and outdated and desis need to please grow tf up and enter the 21st century thanks.
But anyway this has given me an idea of when I should fit in my workouts so that I can do them when I’m alone at home. I can’t deal with the above mentioned thing again and again because honestly I’ve hated myself enough already and I can’t take anymore of others opinions anymore or I’ll completely loose it.
Anyways if you’re reading this and have any tips or advice feel free to message me.

🔥 Cardio Guidelines by @hunter_pauley 🔥⁣ ⁣ ➖Some very common questions that people will ask is, “How much cardio should I be doing?”⁣ ⁣ ➖Well, to be honest, the answer is “It depends” and also “X amount”.⁣ ⁣ ➖First off, cardio does not directly cause fat loss but is rather a TOOL for fat loss when paired with a caloric deficit.⁣ ⁣ ➖What I can say though, the very first part of implementing and sticking to a cardio plan is ENJOYMENT. Cardio already sucks to begin with…and any way we can make it suck less is what we are after. For example, if you love playing basketball but hate the stair master, then don’t make yourself suffer on the stair master! Play more basketball! Any activity is better than no activity.⁣ ⁣ ➖How much cardio should you do and there is too much? If your goal is to increase strength and muscle size, then cardio should not be more than 50% of your training time. So if your total weight training time is 6hrs per week, your total cardio should probably not exceed a total of 3hrs per week. This is not to say you could do more, but just understand the possibly consequences of doing so. Keep note of your recovery and total amount of sessions. If you find your recovery lacking, it might be time to revaluate your sessions.⁣ ⁣ ➖This also brings up the type of cardio, frequency, and the timing. We know from research that HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) is harder to recover from when compared to MISS. Once again, you may do more than 3x sessions per week, but just be smart about your overall recovery & rest time. Lastly, add in your cardio gradually and only as a fat loss tool. Ensure to separate it from weight training when possible as well if your goal is to maintain as much strength as possible.⁣ _____________________⁣ #creatine #fitnessnutrition #fitnesstips #buildmuscle #teenbodybuilding #leangains #bulking #studentfitness #studentgains #iifym #flexibledieting #nutrition #nutritiontips #unifitness #musclefood #hypertrophy #strengthtraining #fatlossjourney #fatlosshelp #studentnutrition #fatlosstips #fatlossjourney #proteinshakes #proteins #proteinpacked #musclegain #dietplan #bolafit #getfitwithbola

Day 2
Today’s workout only lasted 30 minutes 😅. In my defence I got off at 3.30 pm today and was super exhausted and demotivated by the time I got home. Definitely wanted to skip today. My last class was economics and it is one of my most challenging subjects. I had completely forgotten the previous material so I barely understood what we did today and was very demotivating.
I decided to rest a bit before I got any work done. So I said my prayers and relaxed for a bit and had pink tea with my mum. After that I pushed myself to do this and reminded myself how good I felt after yesterday’s workout. I did about 20 minutes of yoga from the video I posted about yesterday. Yoga with Adriene is a fantastic YouTube if you’re a beginner like me. I’ve been doing the 20 minute one and Adriene voice is really soothing and encouraging. What I like most is that she says repeatedly during the video that it’s okay to find your way of doing it. The second video was by popsigar fitness again and I was only able to do the first 10 minutes before I gave up.
I think this is okay for today. I don’t want to push myself too hard and get sick. Previously I’ve had a very bad habit of doing extremely rigourous workouts in one day and having sore muscles for a week to the point that it hurts to sit down. So I’ve never been able to be consistent. Yesterday I worked out for 1 hour, so today’s 30 minutes is really good.
If you’re reading, feel free to message me with any advice and tips you may have.

Hii
Hi
I’m K. A few months ago I realised that I couldn’t find any fitness blog that would fit into my life as an A2 student. There are thousands of fitness blogs and vlogs and what not. But it’s really difficult finding something I can relate to as a brown person. Most of the student fitness accounts are run by western students. Whilst they’re great, I simply do not have access to a gym so my workouts are limited to my house. Moreover the food we eat is so different, that most of the ‘meal preps’ online are not exactly possible.
My goal for this year is to lose weight and become healthier overall. The next few months will set the course for the rest of my life, where I go to college and where I will work in the future etc etc. I don’t want to disregard my health this time as I did two years ago during my O’levels. I got good grades but the months after my exams were terrible for me as I gained so much weight that it ruined my menstrual cycle. My current weight is 89 kg and I want to get down to atleast 70. My height is 5.8.
Maybe I meet some other teens and students who can give advice and share what they do. Hopefully I will, the internet is a big place! Wish me luck! And share your tips and advice ❤️

Keeping Accountable ~ Life with Lotty 📚 • • How do you keep yourself accountable for your health and fitness goals?
