Largehead hairtail!

It has an eellike appearance, with a compressed, long body and a single long dorsal fin! It is an ambush predator, remaining very still in a nearly vertical pose, quickly striking any squid or small fish that comes close! They can even leap out of water due to these ambushes.

Do you have a favorite nanofish

Not a fish but nano, freshwater dwarf shrimp!! Had them in my nano aquarium… :) <3333 But actual nano fish, hmm. I really like neon tetras — although those tiny fish should be kept in a decently sized tank — and I have great fondness for bettas and Endler’s guppies! It would be pretty sweet to have them as pets.

Guess whose job just started raising Lake Sturgeon (Huso fulvescens)! These little dudes were spawned from one of the first natural spawning runs detected in Missouri for years, and are just starting to transition to a diet of bloodworms! (They scarfed down everything we gave them in no time flat, less than 30 minutes after a 400-mile drive)

That’s right! The Superior Sturgeon is BACK, BABY!!!

PS: @sturgeonposting , these things and shortnose sturgeon were added to the Huso genus along with Beluga! 🤯
