ITTSSSSS TIMEEEEEE for bachelors yapping time continues! Imma be going over what I think should change about the bachelors after you marry them :3 this will all be going off the assumption that there is now a 20 heart limit and 1-3 additional cutscenes
Spoilers for stardew relationships btw
Alr first my favorite bachelor: Alex. I’m thinking although Alex always stays in shape he does give up on his dreams of being a professional grid ball player, buttttt I think it would be really nice if he starts a workout club for the dudes fr, where they work on personal fitness, getting stronger, and now Harvey could have a place to get fitter while feeling less embarrassed! Maybe when he starts it you get a little quest to gather stuff to make workout equipment and he uses an additional wing of your house to do so. I also think it would be nice if he starts working as a gridball commentator so that he can still enjoy his favorite spot. A cutscene for both of these ideas would be nice
Next is our favorite recoverin alcoholic: SHANE I personally love Shane so much he’s amazing. I think as you progress your relationship with Shane he could help Pam get her addiction under control. Of course though, his main pursuit after he marries you would be the chickens! I’m thinking he would either join Marnie at the ranch and start helping out there or he could be the “coopmaster” at your farm, and he could do the same thing as an autopetter and auto grabber, but all eggs harvested by him would be one quality grade higher, and if you have blue chickens they would produce “Blue Eggs”, which would sell for a lot more and produce “Blue Mayo”, which could be a loved gift for Shane and maybe Jas. His new cutscenes could be a scene where a blue chicken lays the first blue egg and a scene where he talks to Pam about addiction.
Now we got Elliot. The weird thing about Elliot is he actually does do things after you marry him. He ends up going on a tour for his book! This is amazing but I think it could be expanded on. I’m thinking he decides to write another book about life in Pelican Town and after a while it’s a cult hit. He becomes quite famous and gets visited by paparazzi in a cutscene where he talks to you about the burden of fame but how it’s all worth it with you by his side (aww). You could also after that get fan mail delivered to your mailbox? Could be fun and maybe another secret could be added from that. In addition to all that, I think marrying Elliot could give you an exclusive book power? I don’t have any ideas specifically but that would make sense ✨
Harvey: Harvey, after you marry him, would still work at the hospital, but he would no longer charge you for services like reviving you, and you would have a special cutscene where he tells you “you make me worry about you too much when you go into the mines” “I love you too much” or something like that. I also think that he would start talking to the people who fly above the valley and begin to be known as the Stardew Valley Navigator, and maybe you would meet one of the pilots and he would take Harvey for a ride in the plane :3 also I feel like as his relationship with you progressed he would no longer love coffee because he isn’t overworking himself so much :D other ideas include a slight health increase when married to Harvey and maybe a scene where he impresses the A.S.S trio with his knowledge of jazz
Alright next up is Sam! First up, I think Sam needs to start getting bigger with his music. After you reach 16 hearts, he should get an offer from a minor record company who really liked his sound in the “Happy Junimo Show” soundtrack. They offer a deal where he sells them one single and if it works out they could get him signed. You receive three choices for the genre, and he submits it and waits. A week later, he hears back from the company, who really enjoyed it and offer him a contract. This leads to another cutscene at 18 hearts where he performs his first single as the opener for a music festival. After that, you can always hear that first single on Sam’s boombox. Sam brings you up on stage and says “This song is dedicated to my amazing partner, [name]”, and the cutscene ends.
Sebastian: Sebastian is too edgy bro but I’ll make this shit work lemme lock in rq
Sebastian, of course, starts to breed frogs! I think that could be really cool if you could get a cutscene where you now have a frog that roams the farm looking cute, maybe collecting mixed seeds and fiber and delivering it to you while you’re in bed? I’m going to be so fr I can’t think of stuff for him lol he’s a lot harder ngl… Maybe a garage addition to the house? Where he works on his motorcycle once a week?Ngl this is mid he’s too emo lol LMK IF YOU HAVE BETTER IDEAS

So, with Tumblr communities being a thing now, would anyone be interested in a Taggart community?
I'm not expecting this post to get much attention. But even if only a couple of people express interest, I'll make a request to create a Taggart community.

STV Shane x Reader
Bar Romance (oneshot)
Because I recently married Shane in Stardew Valley lol…
Tumblr media
It’s tradition for the whole town to meet up at the Stardrop Saloon on Thursday nights for everyone can catch up with each other.
Saloons are not necessarily your scene, but being a main part of the town's committee, you make an effort to show up and say hi to everyone at least.
Laughing with Emily at the bar top while she makes you a drink, you feel a heavy weight on your shoulders.
"Hey, farmer girl."
Emily gives you "the look" as you roll your eyes. "Alex, I don't appreciate you putting all your weight on me."
Alex turns his head to the side to burp and take another swig of his beer, making your groan in disgust. "Can't handle a little weight? With all the farm work you do all day?" He laughs uncomfortably close into your ear as you try to wiggle his arm off your shoulder.
Emily sighs as she cleans a glass. "Knock it off, Alex. You're making Y/N uncomfortable."
Your face scrunches as he leans more into you, his hot alcohol breath burning into the skin on your cheek. "I'm not making you uncomfortable, right? How about we go take a swim at the beach? You have a bikini, right?"
Before you can shove him off, your eyes widen when you watch as a hand roughly grabs Alex's arm.
"Hey!" Alex grunts and turns around, to see Shane glaring at him. "Shane! What's up man?"
Shane holds his dark glare. "Why don't you go take a seat over at the booths?"
The two men hold their intense stares with each other, and although a lot shorter and less muscular, Shane holds an intimidating aura, causing Alex to back down and trudge over to the booths.
You and Emily look at each other in shock as you both expected some fight to go down, but Shane casually takes a seat in the stool next to you and pulls your stool closer to his.
"Emily, two pizzas and two colas for us, if you don't mind." He says, as he leans back and lays his arm across the back of your stool.
Emily gives a sly smile and nods as she walks into the back to make the order.
You smile as you feel Shane start rubbing the middle of your back with his thumb while he watches the gridball game on the TV above the bar.
"Thanks." You shyly tell him.
Shane rubs the stubble on his chin as he continues to watch the TV. "For?"
You laugh softly. "For kicking a bar creep off of me."
Shane snorts a laugh and he looks over at you with his tired eyes. "You mean Alex? He's just a kid who can't hold his liquor. Alongside thinking he has a way with the ladies."
You smirk as you lean into him. "Still. You're my hero."
With a roll of his eyes, he grabs your face with his hand and squishes your cheeks together. "You talk too much."
"yOu loVe It!" You spurt out through a squished mouth.
Shane smirks and lets your face go. He wraps an arm around your waist to pull you into his lap.
Everyone in the bar are too drunk to notice the love birds at the bar top...except Emily, who's smiling and watching from the kitchen window.
"Cute." She giggles, but then the smell of smoke hits her nostrils.
"Shoot! The pizza!"

Today in "random internet shit that annoyed me..."
This image from a Cracked article titled "16 Things We Picture Wrong (Thanks, Movies)"
Tumblr media
HEY CRACKED. YOSEMITE IS MORE THAN ONE SPOT.
It is correct that there are cables on the side of Half Dome. Half Dome is one (1) place to ascend a wall among many dozens in the park. And Kirk wasn't meant to be climbing Half Dome! He was meant to be climbing El Capitan, one of the most challenging wall cimbs in the world:
Tumblr media
Also, what hikers are doing on Half Dome IS NOT MOUNTAIN CLIMBING. It's hiking with some extra difficulty. I should add that ZERO casual tourists on a day trip are climbing those cables. For one thing there's a lottery for permits. For another, it's a very strenuous like 8 hour hike to get TO the cables, let alone up and back down.
Climbers flock to El Cap because of its difficulty. In the documentary "Free Solo," climber Alex Honnold climbed El Cap without harnesses or ropes (aka free solo) which had never been done before.
Incidentally, Alex was asked to evaluate mountain climbing scenes in movies and he gave the Kirk climbing scene in STV pretty high marks for realism.
You should watch the clip, it's amazing. Honnold is so deadpan and hilarious.

Happy Birthday Scottish actor Alex Norton, born January 27th 1950 in Glasgow.
As a youngster Alex spent part of his childhood in Moffat Street in the Gorbals before moving to Pollokshaws. He was educated at Shawlands Academy
Alex discovered acting at the age of 13 through an after-school drama group, which led to a part in the BBC television series Dr Finlay's Casebook. Because of his background and his father's lack of approval of his chosen career, Norton decided to avoid the traditional route into acting and instead worked from part-to-part.
After leaving school he initially worked in a paint factory before deciding to take up acting full time. He moved to Manchester where he performed in folk clubs, and later returned to Glasgow to join the Citizens Theatre, where he appeared in over 600 performances.
In 1973, he became one of the founder members of the 7:84 theatre company, which toured and performed in schools across Scotland. Alex wrote, directed and appeared in numerous pantomimes, and appeared in numerous films, including Gregory's Girl, Local Hero, Patriot Games and Braveheart. In 2002, he was cast as DCI Matt Burke in the ITV detective drama series Taggart, a role which made him a household name.
Since 2013, Norton has played Eric in the sitcom Two Doors Down series 7 hit the small screen last November and while another season hasn't been commissioned as yet I am sure it will be.
Alex was also in the online Fantasy Adventure game Diablo IV, as well as turning up in couple of episodes of the excellent Good Omens, which a lot of was filmed in Scotland. He was last on our screens over the bells on STV with Blyth Duff

Parliamentary action in Scotland Nicola Sturgeon
Tumblr media
Nicola Sturgeon will be succeeded as SNP leader and first minister of Scotland by Humza Yousaf. Many people, including Ms. Sturgeon, thought of him as the SNP establishment’s preferred candidate.
The health secretary received more support from MSPs and MPs than any of his competitors. The Deputy First Minister and John Swinney both stated that Mr Yousaf would “finish our journey to independence.”
He is a more seasoned leader than the other two aspiring figures. He has been employed by the government since 2012, serving in roles including minister of transport and secretary of justice.
After a very competitive leadership contest, his supporters claim that he is the finest communicator and most qualified to unify the party and maintain the power-sharing agreement with the Scottish Greens.
Humza Yousaf, a personal friend of Ms. Sturgeon and the “continuity candidate,” is typically viewed as the candidate who would attempt to continue the work of the outgoing first minister.
One of three contenders has pledged to use the legal system to prevent the UK government from thwarting Ms. Sturgeon’s divisive gender recognition changes. He asserted that the party can only achieve independence by continuing to advance “progressive values.”
However, he has made it clear that he would not appear in court until a lawyer certifies that he has a good chance of succeeding.
Humza Yousaf has disavowed Ms. Sturgeon’s scheme to exploit the upcoming election as a proxy referendum. Rather, he declared that he would work to create a “consistent majority” in favour of independence because it “isn’t good enough” for surveys to indicate that 50% or 51% of people agree with it.
However, he has made an effort to appeal to the more eager proponents of independence by suggesting that a special election for the Holyrood might be held to gauge public sentiment towards leaving the UK.
Additionally, Mr. Yousaf disputed that the party officials were exerting every effort to give him the victory in the leadership contest. This was a retort to those who claimed the shortened campaign was done to increase his chances of winning.
Additionally, he has stated that he is open to hearing objections to contentious plans for a new national care service and the bottle return programme.
“Follow my lead,”
Humza Yousaf declared on BBC Scotland’s Sunday Show during the competition that he was “his own man” and would carry out his plans as such.
According to his detractors, Mr. Yousaf has “failed upwards” and has not accomplished much during his tenure in office. He was dubbed “the worst health secretary in history” by Labour’s Jackie Baillie, who also claimed he now aspires to be “the worst first minister in history.”
Kate Forbes, another SNP leadership contender, was the most critical. During a live STV discussion, she said to Mr. Yousaf, “The trains were constantly late when you were in charge of transportation. The cops were so overworked when you were in charge of justice that they were close to collapse. Additionally, our wait times are at an all-time high now that I am in charge of healthcare.
The arguments between Mr. Yousaf and Ms. Yousaf played a significant role in the election. Mr. Yousaf said that his rival’s stances on social issues including homosexual marriage, transgender rights, and abortion would force the party to “lurch to the right.”
But Humza Yousaf has also questioned why he did not cast a ballot in the 2014 referendum on gay marriage. He claimed that the reason was that he had to go to a crucial meeting about a Scot who was sentenced to death for blasphemy in Pakistan.
The first minister at the time, Alex Salmond, said on Sky News that Mr. Yousaf skipped the vote due to pressure from a Glasgow mosque. Mr. Yousef has categorically refuted this assertion…Read More
