The search for the best symphonic or power metal song continues!

The first bracket, looking for the best Nightwish song, is slowly nearing its end, so we are looking for the next artist to be in the spotlight. We will do this until we've had 32 artists and we can pit all their best songs against each other.

Submit your favorite artist(s) now!

Submission rules:

One submission per person. This is why you are required to log in (however, your email will not be saved, and I cannot see it). This also makes it possible to change your submission or add things as long as submissions are open.

Any artist that fits the symphonic metal and/or power metal genre classifies, as long as they have at least 16 songs under their name. Gatekeeping is not allowed. If you're not sure your artist is the right genre, just google it 🤷‍♀️ other than that, if an artist gets multiple submissions, it is likely that they fit the genre. (And if I'm really in doubt I'll put it up for a vote)

Artists that have already had a tournament about them, can not be submitted again. Solo members of a band CAN be submitted (for example, Nightwish is not allowed, but Tarja is).

First and second choice have to be different artists (but if you only want to submit 1, just leave the second choice option empty).

How will I count the submissions?

Everyone can submit a first and a second choice.

First choice gets assigned 2 points, second choice gets assigned 1 point.

At the end of the submission period I'll count all points and the one with the most points will be the artist for the next tournament! (If there's a tie at the top, I'll probably post a poll to decide the winner.)

I will not be sharing which artists has the most votes or whatever before the submission period ends (because I don't want it to influence the submissions).

Submissions are open until we have crowned a winner of the current tournament!

I feel as if this tournament must exist somewhere, but I looked for two hours and couldn't find it. So I've decided to be the change I want to see in the world and subject all of you to it.

Do you have a red-hot take that you know most people wouldn't agree with, but are still absolutely willing to fight for it? This is the place where it belongs. Let's pit them against each other in a fight for validation!

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

All submissions are anonymous.

Your take can be about literally anything at all, as long as you feel the vast majority of people would disagree. Even though you're right. And they're just afraid to admit it.

Basically, if it's a hill you're willing die on - even if you have to do it alone - then it belongs right here.

Oh, and it kinda goes without saying, but terfs and bigots stay away.

ABOUT ME:

I was once a beautiful all-powerful elven sorcerer princess, feared and loved by all – then one day I was run over by a horse cart and was transported to another world where I was reborn as a failgirl weaboo shut-in with no friends.

However! I may have been stripped of my dark powers that once spread terror across the world, but it turns out exposing people to Tumblr hot takes is the next best thing.

(Also, "OP" refers to the submitter of a take, "mod" refers to me)

HOW SUBMISSIONS WILL BE CHOSEN (updated):

Once all the submissions have been collected, we'll run preliminaries for the most contested topics, and most controversial takes will qualify for the bracket.

Then, I'll take all the remaining submissions and put them into a randomiser. It will be in fate's hands after that.

Whatever submissions the randomiser picks, no matter what they are, will fill out the rest of the bracket. No re-rolls.

After that, all of the matchups will be shuffled again, so the resulting bracket will be completely random. No seeding, no creator bias.

All we can do then is pray.

Everyone will vote for the take they most agree with, and the most validated take will advance.

The last take standing will then graduate from "hot take" and be crowned MOST OBJECTIVE FACT OF ALL TIME FOREVER.

I love polyamory Hades/Percy/Persephone... but the idea is Hades and Percy being in a romantic relationship and Percy having a deep romantic friendship with Persephone.

Persephone has deep feelings for Percy, but they are not romantic and the goddess of spring is really happy for her Husband and Percy.

Could you write an akutagawa x higuchi's sister reader? And the plot… Have you heard satisfied from hamilton? Basically higuchi finds out her sister has a huge crush on him and painfully gives up on her feelings so her little sister could be happy, because she loves her too much. Higuchi then introduces the both of them to each other and they fall in love as the time passes. Sorry if it's too long!

A/N: I finally have the Tumblr app and can respond faster now and sorry this one took so long to write as well. I'm really trying to write and get these done faster, but anyway enjoy!

When Higuchi found out about your crush it was purely an accident. You had left your diary wide open on your bed, and when she was cleaning she spotted it. She was drawn to it, like it was singing a siren’s song. Slowly she peaked at your diary and began to read.

Dear Diary,

Akutagawa is so cute. The way he fights is so passionate. He moves so beautifully, and the way he uses Rashomon is so perfect. I’m totally in love with him! I’m in love with everything about him, I way his voice sounds, the way he dresses, and the way he styles his hair is just so handsome.I Love him so much. I’d do anything for him. I’d-

She closed the diary quickly and scrambled out of the room when she heard you open the door.

“Ane, I’m home” you called as you took off your shoes at the door, “where are you?”

“I’m in here,” said Higuchi as she sat in the living room/ main room. She was facing away from you and was panting quietly, and you noticed.

“Ane, are you ok? You look tired?” you asked

“I’m fine. It must be all the stress from work”

“Ok, if you say so”

Higuchi thought back to what her younger sister’s diary said. She likes Akutagawa. But I also like Akutagawa. She’e my little sister, and I don’t want her heart to break and I especially don’t want to be the reason it’s broken. Higuchi sighed, she knew she would have to give up her love towards Akutagawa, so you could be happy with him. I pained her to let go of her love toward him, but she would do anything for you. From doing little things like, buying you something small to make you happy to murder, anything to keep you happy. 

“Y/N,” she started, “how would you like to come and help me with one of my missions? I’d like for you to meet someone,”

“Sure” you answered.

------------------------------The Next Day---------------------------------

Higuchi took you with her to work and made you wait at the Port Mafia base. You didn’t actually get to participate in the mission, Higuchi said that your job was to just sit and wait in the Port Mafia headquarters. While you waited you organized Higuchi’s desk. (You really don’t have to if you don’t want to then ignore the cleaning Higuchi’s desk part) When she returned she was with a certain Mafia member. Your eyes lit up and a blush spread across your face as you sat at Higuchi’s desk, and then you immediately stood up. 

“Y/N, this is Akutagawa, and Akutagawa this is Y/N” Higuchi introduced you both to each other.

“Nice to meet you, Akutagawa,” you stuck your hand out for Akutagawa to shake.

“Nice meeting you too,” and Akutagawa shook your hand. After that day, you and Akutagawa spent more and more time together and eventually ended up dating. You grew so close together and it was all thanks to Higuchi.

Morally Questionable Anime Milfs Submission Form

Welcome to the morally questionable anime milfs competition, where we pit hot moms who have made controversial choices against one another.

Fictional characters only please.

The term ‘anime’ is used loosely for simplicity’s sake. Manga, visual novels, manhua, manhwa, donghua, etc. are also allowed. If you have a question about a specific character, just ask. Or go ahead and submit them anyway, and if I don’t feel they fit, I just won’t include them.

Y'all know what milf means. I don't think I need to explain that one. Do feel free to tell me about your milf's sexiest qualities though.

Not limited to biological mothers—as long as the character fills a maternal role, it's fine.

This is NOT the place to submit outright abusive mothers (towards children, at least). The mom must genuinely care about their kid(s)/charge(s) and be someone who is not intentionally malicious. I would say it is alright to submit a 'bad mom with good intentions' who is trying their best, but still messing up, or a character that is a very good mother, but who's moral ambiguity arises from reasons Beyond their parenting. Example being the 'villain who's an excellent parent' trope. Just explain your reasoning to me, and I'll use my own discretion if I feel the character crosses a line.

I have not yet decided the bracket size, and will do so once I see the final submission count.

Some level of horniness in the propaganda is expected, but I will urge you guys try and keep things at a PG-13 level. Here's everyone's advisory notice now: Don't follow this particular competition if this type of content makes you uncomfortable.

Poll propaganda can be submitted through the ask box, replied directly on poll posts, or made as separate posts and then tagged with the blog name. Just be sure to keep things civil.

so not only does this not answer my fucking question, it raises about fifty more

i was never super into Fate but i did have irl friends who would infodump on me about apocrypha and i don't remember them ever saying anything about astolfo being lactose intolerant?? why can't they eat ice cream?

it also might just be because i'm terminally online but the sentence 'submission astolfo eating ice cream' is somehow both objectively entirely innocent and yet still fills me with such abject dread for reasons i can't begin to explain, especially since i'll have to google images specifically for your submission

how the hell could you suggest something so entirely unrelated to the tournament, and yet still capture the exact same palpable anxiety that i've been feeling non-stop for the past 3 days when i imagine what could be waiting for me in the form responses?
