After the BRICS expansion in 2024, the alliance officially accounts for 42% of the global oil and gas reserves. If that wasn’t enough, BRICS now accounts for the majority of the rare-earth metals reserve totaling to 72%. This gives the alliance an added advantage in global trade in the oil and rare-earth metals sectors.
BRICS countries complement each other for the extraction of critical minerals and production. The cooperation could leas to mutual trade within BRICS members and ensure the continuity of the supply. The alliance can also decide on the stability of the prices and be ahead in decision-making.
Latest reports indicate that the alliance will discuss oil and rare-earth metals trade in the next BRICS summit. The geological trade deals could be rewritten giving the bloc an undue advantage in settling cross-border transactions. “Prospects for cooperation between the BRICS countries in the field of studying, developing and rational use of mineral resources,” is on the cards, read a report.
“One of the possible areas of cooperation in this sphere is to expand the mutual trade in mineral commodities and metals for the purpose of ensuring continuity of supplies and stability of prices,” said Evgeny Petrov, the Head of the Russian Federal Subsoil Resources Management Agency Rosnedra. He added, “The simple analysis shows that accession of new members to BRICS will provide for 72% of world resources of rare-earth metals.”
Also, if BRICS uses local currencies for rare minerals trade, the US will dollar will begin to face deficits. Read here to know the major US sector that will be severely affected if BRICS ditches the dollar for trade. The BRICS bloc is adding all commodities under its sleeves and could turn the alliance’s fortunes in the coming years.

What are your most important hockey movies? (Or media in general) I am trying to watch more stuff that is out of my known bubble. Thanks
i fear i'm Pretty Basic when it comes to general hockey media but 1000000% recommend watching and reading "the russian five"!!!! i held out on doing it for so long bc i knew it would drive me insane and i was Right. so goooood. the editing of it is also really engaging and fun off the bat if ur someone who normally doesn't get caught up in like. Doc Style Things (me)
i think "red army" is also a good companion watch for after that!!! for more of a view of What russian hockey was like at the time
(i have reading "larionov" and watching "cold war on ice" and "ice-breaker: the 72 summit series" on my List for other possible good companions if ur interested in the soviet hockey of it all but i havent gotten to those yet so can't Personally Vouch)
also ik ur a stars fan but if u have never seen it.... come weep at the dallas stars "we're not going home" (2020) bubble cup run youtube unlisted doc with me.... please... my most important hockey media
"untold: crimes and penalties" is a fun doc on netflix abt a minor league team that was a. very violent b. owned by someone who's first line in their wikipedia says he is a convicted felon and associate of a crime family. but ran by his son! who was clueless in every way! pretty interesting
and then a bit more of a time commitment than the others because its a whole Show but. junior league is a russian drama that follows a team with a new coach trying to make the junior league so they can keep playing as like a career and all their interpersonal Dramas and Romance but Also Hockey As Well. There's 6 seasons but not all of it is available in english (yet! hopefully) .... use the link if inch rested its the only english version beyond early 1st season but keep it Hush Hush as the last channel that was uploading them like a year ago got taken down dlkfjsdl
i'm also assuming you've seen/know of shoresy but if u have not. that's less of a time commitment bc its newer and also a jared keeso show so. Shorter Episodes By A Lot. funny! silly! underdogs!!!!
and then if u enjoy Romance i did rlly like "the cutting edge" (even tho there's not. much hockey if we're being real) and the book "icebreaker" BY A.L. GRAZIADEI. THE GAY ONE. not the Other One.
and i think that's all i got in me??? i hope this helped!!! i feel like i'm definitely forgetting some but. if anyone else has any other recommendations or further Thoughts please feel free to add to this/reply with them!!!!! <3

HBRewritten: my version's timeline
I'm back in the fucking building again?! /Ref
...
First of all: I won't be taking Season 2 as inspiration for this rewrite. I'll just use Season 1 as a blueprint of sorts, and maybe a bit of HH.
Ok then
Woe, rewriting be upon ye:
I'll build the world from it's history, and then fit the plot of HB into it. This is simply because I personally don't see sense in Viv's worldbuilding of HB, and personally, it's one of it's weakest points due to this.
Here's a rough timeline + explanation
Genesis:
Creation of the Earth, God, The creation of all creatures, Angels, Humans, that stuff!
Resentment:
Lucifer, unlike most of his kin, becomes disappointed with how God manages the creation. Is it because there's no free will? Does he legitimately think he could do better? It's up to interpretation tbh
During this time, God creates the underworld, not as a jail but rather as a testing site. He is a omnipresent being that just popped into existence after all.
Rallying, Rebellion, Fall:
Lucifer convinces some of his fellow kin that the direction God is taking his Plan is deeply flawed and that an uprising is needed. He gets some powerful allies on his side, and a gnarly rebellion starts. God banishes Lucifer and his allies to the underworld, as although he is majorly angry, he also does care for Lucifer (he was his most beautiful angel in Christian canon, after all) and he wants to keep tabs on them.
The Seven:
Lucifer and his allies get vanished to the Underworld, right?
And here's a thing. Creatures already lived in there, Imps.
(This part could explain why imps are the only hellborns without magic)
So, Lucifer is also majorly pissed, right? He wanted the Heavenly throne, he wanted to usurp God, he wanted that, he wanted more.
Him, along with the allies that fell with him, become rulers of this realm by force, although they don't have power over the realm itself (yet), perhaps as a way to at least rule something.
Lucifer occasionally sneaks out, using angelic power to possess animals in the living world.
The apple bite thing happens, God banishes humans out of Eden, Lucifer was being a bit silly.
This occured God's wrath, badly
Proto-apocalypse:
A war occurs due to this, and it ends up, tensely, in a agreement.
i . People who don't summit to God will be sent to Hell
ii. Lucifer has full control over the sinners and the realm's physical features (so that he leaves Earth alone)
iii . God can, and will, send angels to check upon Hell to see that Lucifer isn't trying to usurp him again
Tense times:
Due to this agreement, Lucifer and his gang is suddenly given a whole place to change as they please, as long as they torture sinners and don't usurp God.
This is when the seven levels of hell, and the rest of the hellborns, are created; Lucifer was smart enough to see that if he limited his angelborn kin they could try and usurp him, so he divides the realm and trusts it to each of his kin.
Sin time:
And the sinners start coming and they won't start coming
The standard hell is created:
What it says. Sinners are tortured in all of the realms in multiple ways, using hellborn as torturers. Eventually, the Seven start getting bored of this. It's all the same!
More fallen angels:
Between the time of the proto-apocalypse, and this era, a bunch of angels fall from grace and end up in Hell. Lucifer, who may be fine with torturing random humans but not fellow angels, kinda doesn't know what to do. Eventually a sort of noble system sprouts out of this, with the level of power being directly correlated with prestige because that's how it is.
Some demons, partly to get more sinners and partly to spite God, try to pass over to earth to spread chaos. God does Not like this, which directly leads to the next era
Solomonic era:
During this era is when the 72 demons are exorcised by Solomon thanks to God, and forced to, y'know, build a temple, reveal their weaknesses, and then get sealed until Babylonia frees them on Earth.
This is a very turbulent era, as some important folk, like Asmodeus, are basically kidnapped. Eventually they get freed and return, but the title of the tome written by Solomon about them, the Ars Goetia, becomes a symbol of shame for the affected demons and a description: The goetia
Eventually, though, a funny thing happens: in a twist of irony, the Goetia, having been brought to Earth via divine intervention, "learn" better and more efficient ways to connect the Hell realms with Earth, and even redevelop the angelic powers they were blessed with prior to falling, and with this bring. This brings a lot of respect for them, and centuries later being a Goetia became a symbol of pride.
Life crisis:
Despite life being good for the demonic overlords and the Seven are flat out tired of the monotone life they have. Torturing sinners for eternity gets boring as hell
Asmodeus is especially tired of this, and after travelling out of Hell multiple times during the 16th and 17th century, and getting into hijinks, he returns in his own time with an idea.
(small note: this whole part about Asmodeus is directly based on plays and satirical stories made during the 1600s and 1700s, which had Asmodeus as a main character, and portray him positively as a critic of mankind)
What if we let the human souls intermingle with demons, instead of just torturing them, to see what happens?
Premodern Era:
The rest of the Seven where, frankly, quite appalled by this but also Quite interested about what could come out of this.
(This is the origin of the Hell we see in the HB universe)
So... They do it! Slowly integrating new sinners to hellborn society, and hoping something fun comes out of this
And it does!
Eventually, it becomes more noticeable that letting sinners do what they want makes it easier to tempt humans to sin, and also let's sinners develop and grow in power, which is eventually found to actually make the Seven more powerful too.
Basically, it was all a huge success
Eventually, there's too many sinners around, and although the power surge is good, it also makes it harder to control Hell's population. Rebellions begin to sprout in different parts of Hell due to discontent, and Lucifer does the unthinkable
He calls his papa God
The negotiation:
Hell and Heaven get into a series of tense, tense negotiations. Partly because Hell technically broke part of the conditions imposed. Partly because God isn't pleased with there being too many sinners
Another agreement is settled, and this time, Hell isn't really forced to torture folk. How did they convince God? Sheer spite, dear reader.
But, there's a tradeoff:
In return, God can eliminate sinful creatures when the overpopulation gets too bad, as a way to send the message that torturing people for eternity gave before.
Sinners, unlike hellborn, don't have a natural life cycle, as they are technically dead, so this elimination ends up being a yearly heaven-sent killing spree.
The Seven don't like this, not because people die but because this comes with the inherent risk of losing hellborn, which is a tedious task to recreate them, and angelborn/fallen angels, which are basically so powerful it's impossible to recreate one if it dies.
Great change:
The Seven realize that, when God orders a Elimination, it is a automated event of sorts: killer angels come, eliminate folks until a number is reached, and leave as quickly as they came. They don't transverse more of what they NEED to, which gives Lucifer an idea.
What if we cram all the sinners together in a place? That way, when the killing starts, the angels will just kill in a single place. No need to worry over the actually important demons if they're somewhere else
Modern era:
The great migration happens, and sinners are crammed and forced to be on the same ring, at all times.
This system is not perfect, a few sinners do fall between the cracks and are able to cross to other rings, but it is a choice that needs enormous efforts to accomplish, and most sinners are too compliant, too enamoured by the temptations and sin to try and do something.
Tension is high in the upper angelic castes, and there's a known yet unspoken understanding that a Hell-Heaven war could erupt at any time
.
.
.
.
So yeah, that is the timeline of my HB rewrite!
I didn't get into as much detail as I could like to, and there's probably a few holes in the timeline I will iron out eventually

List of Lupin III Part 2 Episodes (that I liked enough to make my partner watch them)
Part 2 of Lupin III has Many Episodes, but overall I found it fun and charming (in a dated kind of way). Please be aware that this is a very old show, and there are still instances of racism/sexism/etc in these episodes (though the worst have not made this list).
I have decided to share the whole list of episodes I noted down to make Partner watch with me as I have been devouring the show entire, much like a snek, but I have also bolded a couple of my Extra Favorite ones.
I cannot speak to the quality of the dub versions, as I have only watched with Japanese audio and English subtitles. I don't think Part 2 is a bad place to start if you want to get into Lupin. It is a very silly show full of shenanigans, which has been bringing me a great deal of joy over the winter.
11 - "A Gift for the President" / "The Sleight Before Christmas" 12 - "The Great Chase in San Francisco" / "I Left My Mind in San Francisco" 20 - "Goemon's Revenge" / "The Last Mastery" 25 - "A Rose and a Pistol" / "Shot Through the Heart" 32 - "Lupin Dies Twice" / "Lupin the Interred" 41 - "Search for the Treasure of Princess Kaguya" / "Heroes and Vixens" 44 - "The Vanished Special Armored Truck" / "Lion, Cheatin' and Stealin'" 48 - "Lupin Laughs at the Alarm Bell" / "Vault Assault" 57 - "Computer or Lupin?" / "Alter-Ego Maniac" 58 - "The Face of Goodbye at the National Border" / "Gettin' Jigen with It" 61 - "The Flying Zantetsuken" / "The Yam Is Mightier Than the Sword" 66 - Order: Shoot to Kill!!" / "Beauty and the Deceased" 72 - A Skateboard Murder Mystery" / "You're Sapphired!" 79 - "The Lupin Funeral March" / "Baton Death March" 80 - "The Last Gift in Prison is Cup Ramen" / "Everybody Loves Ramen" 81 - "Fujiko, Men Are a Sorry Lot!" / "Fujiko, Men Are a Sorry Lot!" 82 - "Rescuing Pops" / "Hostage Rescue Operation: Daddio" 84 - "Leave the Revenge to Lupin" / "Leave the Revenge to Lupin" 98 - "The Day Pops Was Gone" / "The Day Without Daddio" 99 - "The Scattered Magnum" / "Fighting Jigen" 102 - "Lupin, Do You Like Chanel?" / "Lupin, Do You Like Chanel?" 110 - "Fujiko's Candid Photo" / "Sharp Shot! If you only watch one episode of Part 2 -- make it 145/Wings of Death- Albatross, but if you are going to watch more than one episode for the love of the gods don't watch that one first it will set your standards much too high for the rest of the show.
edit to add: a number of these episodes after 98 can be found on youtube! And in fact youtube has much better subtitling on their subbed episodes than crunchyroll, so I recommend watching them there instead if possible.

Top 5 moments in hockey history?
oooo tysm this is a good one ! hard to answer since there's so much. however this will be so insanely biased because there are things that are Big Deals to me that in the grand scheme of hockey history are not that important
great britain getting promoted to the top division at the 2018 div 1a world championship. as a british hockey fan i can't not say this can i. i was only vaguely aware of hockey at the time (thanks to this site's obsession with gritty lmao) but it's still such an important moment to me personally. we hadn't been in the top division since the 90s which is why i'm putting it instead of this year's promotion
detroit red wings 1997 stanley cup win. it's the 50 year cup drought it's the stuff the team had been through in the years building up to it it's the significance of winning at that time with that amount of europeans it's stevie finally getting to lift the cup after 14 ? years. it's just so important to me and ik my wings moots get it
1981 canada cup. ok this is where i'm getting really self-indulgent because there's so many other moments i could've put but of course i'm mentioning this tournament. the one where the green unit first played together. some of the best players of that decade (and all time, really). the fact that (most of) those guys would pave the way for russians in the nhl by the end of the decade plays into the significance of this ofc. but of all the green unit moments i just had to put their first games together. there's something so beautiful about the beginning, where no one is aware of where things will go and how it will all end
1972 summit series. how can i not put this. the first time the soviets faced nhl players can't not be mentioned. imo this was probably the most significant hockey moment if the 70s. also without the 72 summit series who knows if we'd be seeing as many europeans (particularly russians ofc) in the nhl. it was those games that made the league realise that those guys on the other side of the atlantic are just as good as them. which as an eu hockey fan i love to see
alex mogilny's defection. come on. it is me. of course i'm gonna say this. in terms of the big moments in hockey history i think this is slept on way too much. without this guy (and igor and slava ofc) we would not have guys like ovechkin and kucherov in the nhl right now. straight up. what makes mogilny's journey to the nhl stick out to me compared to igor/slava is that he was so young. he was barely 2 years older than i am now and you're telling me he did that? he helped change the trajectory of the nhl? whilst also basically still a kid probably scared of making the wrong choice? i'm glad he decided to go to the states when he did the way he did because, without guys like that, god knows what hockey would look like today

Brazil fines petrochemical company $13.5 million for mining under Maceio, a sinking city
Tumblr media
Brazil has fined petrochemical company Braskem 72 million reais ($13.5 million) for environmental damage in the northeastern city of Maceio. The fine — imposed on Tuesday by the Environment Institute of the State of Alagoas — concerns damage caused to five neighborhoods in Maceio, which are at risking of disappearing into a giant hole.
Brazil is very aware of the speed at which the ground is sinking. Movement has slowed — 6.3 centimeters on Monday — but the danger remains, according to authorities. The thousands of homes in the area have been uninhabited since 2019, a year after geologists determined that the sinking was due to Braskem’s decades-long mining activity. The company — the sixth-largest in the sector worldwide — has failed to comply with the order to fill in the mine to stabilize the ground, the Brazilian newspaper O Globo reported Tuesday.
The problem, which affects a fifth of the land of Maceio, dates back five years. The residents of the 14,000 homes directly affected were evicted years ago, when the area began to sink in 2018. The five neighborhoods that existed above the mine are now a ghost town. The issue was considered local news, but made national headlines last Friday after several seismic movements accelerated the sinking process. “Maximum alert for the imminent risk of collapse,” was the unequivocal warning made by authorities.
The mayor of Maceio said over the weekend that the effects of a total collapse were impossible to determine because it would be “an unprecedented event in the world.” The crisis came as Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was at the COP28 climate summit in Dubai, on a visit to present Brazil as the great protector of the Amazon rainforest and a pioneer in the fight against the climate emergency.

Nuther 72 km.
I had snacks and two water bottles which should have been enough for the mountain. I spent the first 20 km trying to decide if I was going to do it. Because I was not feeling quite right and had those doubts I did not try.
As an alternate task I pushed very hard on several parts. I did Prospect Point hill in my second best time. I held between 250 to 350 Watts for that climb. It is short enough to not blow up, I felt almost comfortable, but on the edge of not.
I went through Kits and Spanish Banks and up that UBC hill. I tried to stay above 250 Watts. I did a couple of kph over my usual pace. I felt suitably punished.
I am in good condition as by the end I was not really tired. Had I done the mountain I would have been in survival mode. I have a weird thing about that hill. I have never failed to summit it if I ever started it. Sea level to 920 ish meters. Getting to the top is very hard, and that is only half of the ride. It is a total head game.
I will get it done in August. Hopefully twice.
I should get one more ride in for July. I have already topped last years July. Getting back on track now with all these distractions done. I have my Granfondo ticket and hotel reservation in Whistler. Its about 5 weeks away.
It is a long day that ride. I am well past the "if I can do it" stage. I know I can. There are thousands of people faster than I am. There are thousands of people slower than I am. It is very hard work, but it is fun. Yes I mean it. Fun. It is a celebration of being alive.
I am still alive if I can do it.

I was reading some haters comments in Quora and was ridiculous.
Sasuke tried to kill two times Sakura at his lowest point, used a Genjutsu to her not interfere in his fight with Naruto, but was reedemed, was sorry, Sakura forgave him and they began to rebuild their bond from Part 1? Ridiculous and bad writing. Sasuke still is a abuser and Sakura is a stupid fangirl. Abuse implies he was taking advantage of a relationship between the two, but no such thing existed at that point. Sasuke was trying to kill everyone who he used to care about because of the curse of hatred and his traumas. Haters make it sound like he was coming home to his girlfriend and beating her because he was drunk. Not to mention Sakura went out there to kill him in the first place. He didn't hunt Sakura to kill her.
But at the same time:
Obito started a War who killed 40.000 lifes, killed Minato and Kushina, Killed Neji, tried to kill a Baby, helped to kill his own Clan. Naruto defended him against Black Zetsu because Obito had at some point the same dream as him and still Rin was waiting him after all the atrocity Obito did? Cool Gaara Killed a dozens of innocent people from his own village, abused and terrifying his brothers, tried to kill everyone including Sakura, Naruto and Sasuke later becomed one of the Naruto’s best friend and the Kazekage? Cool. Neji tortured and almost killed Hinata in their fight? cool. Sasuke forgave Itachi even after his killed his own Clan and tortured him with a 72 Hour Genjutsu showing the death of their parents thousands of time for no reason? Cool. The list can go on with Nagato, Kabuto, Orochimaru and many others.
Why so many Haters refuse to acknowledge SasuSaku's bond and only choose the Kage Summit Arc scenes to judge them, ignoring the Curse of Hatred and Sasuke's severally trauma? They never even mention the scenes in Part 1, Sasuke's sorry and the Forehead Poke.
They actually have a lot of intimate moments for a Shonen Manga in Part 1 like many Hugs, Sasuke defending Sakura after the sound team badly injured her, regressing the cursed seal because of her, Sakura beggining to care genuinely about Sasuke's well being, Sasuke willing to sacrifice his life and objective to save her from Gaara before itachi fucked up his mind, and finally his derpature and Sakura's confession.
Why the double standard only for SasuSaku? It's because they have something personal against Sakura, SasuSaku and their fans?

With the Summit of the Future only days away, the general public has not seen a final draft of the Pact for the Future agreement.
On September 13, United Nations member states completed the 4th draft of the Pact for the Future document which is expected to be signed this weekend at the Summit of the Future in New York City. With the Summit set to begin on Sunday, and "Action Days" for the Summit beginning Friday, the public is unlikely to see the final version of the document before it is signed by all 193 member states of the UN.
The Summit of the Future is taking place during the 79th session of the annual UN General Assembly. The summit has been in the making since at least 2022 after repeated calls by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to shift financial resources to rapidly complete the Agenda 2030 goals set by the UN in 2015.
The 4th edition of the Pact for the Future was placed under silence procedure on September 13 until Monday evening. During this 72 hour period, the draft is circulated to all Member States. If there are no objections during the silence procedure the draft is accepted. If the silence is "broken" with member state objections, an additional draft is released.
The UN has not publicized whether or not member states broke the silence or if the draft was accepted as the final edition. A 5th revision has not been posted as of the publishing of this article.
Despite the lack of transparency on the final draft of the Pact, noteworthy changes were made from the 3rd to the 4th revision.
