Gender-based violence is one of the biggest causes of injury and death to women worldwide, causing more deaths and disability among women aged 15 to 44 than cancer, malaria, traffic accidents, and war. As a result of violence and neglect, there are 50 million fewer women in South Asia today than there should be. Every extra year a girl spends at school could reduce child mortality by ten percent. My open letter about Love 💖: If these past few weeks have taught me anything, it was that love is not only something that can come from the heart, but it is also something that can be created, a choice in our consciousness. Some of you may relate to this, but personally, my dad broke my heart way before any man had the chance to. But I was blessed that my grandad (daddy) swooped in and helped form me into the woman I am today. It was devastating when he left me a few years ago to cancer. But I am forever grateful for his unfailing tenacity - which drives me till this day - to make him proud. Under unpleasant circumstances, I got an open invitation to visit my dad (in hospital). I spent everyday of the past few weeks getting to know him. I read to him, played music to him, talked about business with him, watched movies with him, prayed for him and held his engulfing hand while he slept. I am proud that he fought his hardest, but sadly we lost him on Thursday and I just wish I had more time. I realised in life, we can choose only to pursue effortless love, or we can have the courage to create it. In the end, love is love - God’s greatest commandment of all. Life is too short to not love those around you, especially when you still have the chance. In other words, search deep. Love yourself and have the courage to take care of your conscience rather than thinking about your reputation. Because in the end, your conscience is who you are, and your reputation is what others think you are (which doesn't matter in the end)… 💖 Thank you so much to everyone for your continued love, support and positivity during my time away. Please keep me and my family in your thoughts & prayers during such a hard time.
