maidenhair tree: a tree known for its deeply cracked brown bark and beautiful fan-shaped, two-lobed green leaves that turn a magnificent golden-yellow in autumn. also known as the ginkgo tree. [ref]

the sekrit project is done!!! this is a 46 page zine exploring one of my funky little hisui aus, namely answering three questions:

1. what if rei was taken in by the ginkgo guild instead of the galaxy team?

2. what if the solution to quelling the nobles and stopping giratina was more than expecting a teenager and his bird to solve it?

3. how are the ginkgo treated after volo jumped off the deep end?

fair warning for some nonsexual nudity including two aged up characters. there is no explicit blankshipping here but i am cracking incest jokes by putting the twins as the lovers tarot card. choose your own adventure!

The Pokemon Gen 8 protagonists wouldn’t get along

too tire to put into proper words but basically boils down to Galarian/Sword&Shield protagonist(s) have every thing in the story handed to them in a very literal sense through out the course of the story and that in turn warps their perspective and entitlement (as seen in the shift in dialogue from nervous/confident to cocky/entitled. In a weird way the almost swapped personality aspects with Hop, who started off the game very entitled and arrogant before being humbled/destroyed by Bede’s words before Stow-and-Side.

Meanwhile the Hisuian/Legends Arceus protagonists are forced to work for literally everything they own for the clothes off their back to the roof that houses them to basic medical necessities ONLY for it ALL to be taken away as soon as everything turns south due to their bosses poorly handled but understandable fear. Then when they FINALLY fix everything, they are stabbed in the back by the ONLY person who stood by them- no the only FRIEND they could trust because God decided the protagonist was their specialist little blorbo.

The Galarian Protagonist was celebrated as the sole hero and subsequently treated as near royalty whereas the Hisuian Protagonist was simply EXPECTED to fix everything with varying levels of apprecitation

The Ghost of Mt. Coronet

Violent cyan volts of lightening threatened to rip from Pikachu’s body as he clung to his now headless vessel, practically vribrating with outrage.

Normally Ash would be right behind his partner, but now he forced him back with a Shadow Claw, eyes locked with the pokemon before them. The pure fury from before settled into a thick wave of malice, freezing him in place.

TLDR: Ash and Goh find a Hisuian Zoroark and it does not end well for either of them. Said Zoroark is rather shocked to find another person whose death Arceus’ f*cked with and is curious af.

 It was supposed to be a relatively simple mission; investigate the reports of the strange pokemon reported in the caves of Mount Coronet. Unfortunately, Ash and Goh found exactly what they came for. 

 After several infurtiating hours of illusions leading them around in circles, messing with their heads, and some near death situations (well for Goh anyways), they finally end up finding the Pokemon’s den.

  It was at that moment Ash knew they f*cked up.

  (They might have been fine if Goh hadn’t tried to catch the “new” Zoroark variation on sight.)

   Neither boy has see a pokeball EXPLODE before, nor do they get much time to process it before the two of them are thrown into separate caverns with a back-to-bcak Agile Shadow Claw, damaging Pikachu’s vessel in the process.

 It might have been a century or two, but there isn’t any way this former Survey Corps member is being caught in a pokeball, especially without a fight. Though he is confused as to why Shadow Claw was so effective against Ash, and goes off to investigate.

surprise rei moment in the UB meet and greet story

being adrift in an unfamiliar and sometimes actively hostile world, viewed as strange and different and powerful. having to actively strive for acceptance. knowing what can come from fear and distrust, knowing rejection.

wanting to help bridge that gap.

(he won't let it happen to anyone else, whether person or pokemon.)
