Wiping Away The Ash - “The Death of Me and Everything I Knew”
Part One!(you’re here) Part 2!(coming soon!)
Pretty much this is a comic I started working on back in May and got pretty attached to. A combined take of several story takes; retrograde amnesia, animatronic liberation as sentient beings with rights, the angst of thinking you’ve finally made it safe and sound only for your worst nightmare to return in full, and the exploratory look on how the dynamic has changed two individuals as sides of the same coin whom have grown and weathered hell together and come out stronger for it-into two sides of different coins, misaligned as they no longer click; one side weathered with the experiences it’s survived, and the other side wiped clean, having never remembered the hell they went through let alone healing from it. Oh, and the whole ‘falling in love all over again, remixed,’ too, of course. 💜
Lemme know what yall think as I work on part two! Feedback is much appreciated and a giant motivator💜

Hi tumblr, I'm getting back to my Eldritch Alien Eclipse au :)
He's an alien overlord who's been trying to talk to humans who enter his domain for centuries, but they either die entering his airspace or spontaneously keel over when he tries to talk to them, and he's not sure why???
Then there's y/n. Y/n was the pilot for their ship, and ended up in debris at the edge of Eckipse's territory after an unexpected space-bandit attack. They were really frail and injured, not expected to survive, but they were the one to pull through. For some reason, they can speak to Eclipse w/o their brains imploding.
Y/n is basically Eclipse's advisor, companion, and tomagatchi (pretty much). They eventually want to connect Eclipse to other humans and get new allies for Space Relations reasons, but first they have to find a way for him to communicate w/o killing anyone.

So those dancing pictures?
These are the other half.
"Why do you sound so annoyed? I didn't do anything~"
You didn't have to, I barely survived when you weren't trying.
"Don't blame us for keeping up on our efficiency~"
Uh-huh, efficiency.
"It's true, it's not nearly as fast as a human but we do degrade over time if we don't keep up on practice."
I understand that, I'm wondering why it's gotta be in front of me??
"You like it." >:)
I--
"I mean, if it bothers you so much, we can go somewhere else~"
... I didn't say that--
"I dunno, I think I heard we should go~"
"That's what I heard~"
Wait--!

"Confronting Delusions"
Inspired by convos with @springfallendeer (@rebrandedstoryline) about their OC Ayala and my noodle bois. Short lil story under the cut:
Ayala was sore. She was tired. And she was sick of this. Sick of the never ending games. Sick of the relentless grabbing, yanking, and pulling her around. Sick of Sun constantly hurting her as he "played".
She just wanted a break. So she asked to see Moon.
Sun refused. She tried her old tricks. Promising to play all day, the next time she came in, or bringing him new coloring books. Telling Sun it was unfair and Moon deserved a turn. Practically begging him to turn off the lights.
But he repeated the same old things about his other half. The same lies he always told. That Moon was violent and cruel. That he'd only hurt her. That he didn't deserve to see her. That they'd be better off never letting him out!
Ayala couldn't take it anymore. Moon had never been anything but kind to her. A friend that was gentle and compassionate. That couldn't hurt her even if he wanted to. She was tired of hearing Sun treat Moon like some heartless monster.
"Stop LYING! Moon's never hurt me! He's kind, and sweet, and a better friend than you've been!"
Ayala blurted it out without thinking. Sun froze, eyes flickering from white to black, the yellow irises glowing. The smile he wore was not a friendly one. But she continues. Her pent up frustration spilling over.
"You hurt me, every single time I'm here! You hurt Zen! And you never even notice! It's like you can't see what's happening right in front of you!"
She didn't want to say it. But it'd gone too far. He'd gone too far.
"And depending on what you do next, you may never see me again. Not because I've left. No, it'll be because you'd killed me. And you won't even realize it. You're completely delusional."
His hands, which had come so close to her neck, stopped. Fingers tangled in her hair. He stood there, completely still. Finally, he spoke in his distorted, crackling voice;
"You think I'm DELUSIONAL?"
Ayala was certain she was going to die here. But it had always been a risk. This animatronic wasn't right. Something was wrong with him. She had wanted so badly to help him. But you can't fix someone who refuses to acknowledge they're broken. She felt tears roll down her cheeks as she waited for the inevitable.
"SUN!!!"
A familiar voice, filled with a tone of anger and fear that she'd never heard before. It was Zen. But Ayala's hope quickly turned to fear as Sun stood up, looking towards the intruder. She wanted to call out, to warn Zen, but her voice stuck in her throat.
But Sun didn't move further. He just stood there, staring straight ahead. Wearing that same crooked smile on his face. Pure, cold anger etched into his expression. His fingers twitched, as if he was barely containing the urge to snap Ayala in half. She knew what she had to do.
She ran.
