Here's a Suselle Pride Month pic! This actually started out as something I did as a spite reaction to the hate this ship gets and it's still getting it because people don't know how to look at characters as any sort of 2-dimensional except me (jk I've seen a lot more folks thankfully) SO IT'S STILL SPITE LOL. It was only when I realized that June was coming when I lined it at the tail-end of April that I held onto this and slowly worked over it in the month of May. So it wasn't originally for now. Funny that tbh.

This was also me fucking around and finding out with Sai 2's scatter brushes now at my disposal :D I love the sorta blatant Fire and Ice thing with them still. I won't lie in the slightest it was greatly inspired by Lynxgriffin's piece of them. Other than that I draw everything from scratch and my hands were screaming for a while (If tumblr isn't still fucky with links I'd do that but until then aaaaa..)

to me, a really emotionally effective suselle denial is worth more than 10 suselles, because itd do wonders for noelle's arc, pull the themes of rejecting fate into focus, and illustrate a great point about how we play matchmaker with these characters, and how everyone else does too.

literally everyone seems to be gunning for susie and noelle to end up together, but the one person whose feelings about this pairing we've been ignoring, and the one person whose feelings actually matter, is susie! no one gave her a choice here! noelle didn't give susie a choice, she's incredibly possessive of susie and feels like she is owed information about susie, which she can then use to get susie to like her. noelle won't stop until susie is hers. ralsei never asked susie if she enjoyed her ferris wheel ride, or how she felt about noelle, he just watched from a distance and assumed how she felt, because it suits his deterministic worldview. rudy never asked susie if she wanted to go out with noelle, iirc, he just assumed she would say yes, because he loves noelle, and wants noelle to be happy. everyone else is just imposing roles onto susie, the same as they always have!

and while in the real world, having a gay lover is an act of defiance against oppressive social norms, in the world of deltarune, its the opposite! no one is telling her she can't, and everyone wants her to (with the exception of catti, and the couple asshole classmates). even if susie DOES have feelings for noelle, those feelings are sullied by the fact that everyone is still removing her agency, STILL telling her who she is and isn't allowed to be! would you still like your partner if you learned they had done everything in their power to make sure you would end up with them? obsessively collecting information on you in order to seem more appealing, constructing situations for you to meet up in a way where it seems organic, trying to get closer to you by any means necessary? i don't think susie would.

the thing susie seems to value most out of anything is her own agency in choosing what she gets to do, and how she gets to do it. no societal norm, social convention, narrative trope or gameplay mechanic stands in her way of choosing what she wants to do. she won't let you take her armor off unless you give her something else. when you give her a more powerful weapon, she won't accept a weaker one. she's too good for that. susie can dance on her own if she wants, she isn't stupid. it's not fair that kris gets to make all the choices, so its her turn now. heal prayer is boring, so she makes up her own spell. she challenges the idea that darkners are a slave race because she wouldn't want to be complicit in such a system. she believes they should be free to make their own choices. in what world would a person who values freedom above all be happy knowing that their partner wasn't going to let them make their own choice? this isn't even a question of whether or not susie likes noelle, its a question of if susie would be okay knowing that noelle feels, however unconsciously, as if susie belongs to her in some way. and i believe the answer is no.

and this rejection would hurt regardless of if susie liked noelle back, because we do like noelle, flawed as she is. and that rejection forces noelle to change in some way. either she accepts that susie's freedom to choose means the freedom not to be with her, or she doubles down and tries to win her over. she doesn't get what she wants, so she has to choose to get better and start seeing susie as a person, and not merely an idol, or a fantasy, or she has to choose to get worse, and cling onto susie harder.

my rejection of suselle is only somewhat about susie's feelings towards noelle, and is mostly about susie's freedom to not have those feelings, a freedom which is being violated by the "narrative" she exists in, the "Legend of DELTA RUNE"

she deserves a choice, and when the person in question, noelle, doesn't seem to care about how she feels, and only wants susie to be hers, i think she'll choose no, even if she did really like noelle. maybe even especially if she really liked noelle. people talk about how betrayed susie will feel learning kris is possessed and darkners are objects, but what about when she learns noelle was willing to change herself to be whatever susie wants, was willing to treat friends poorly, to almost stalk her, just to make her hers? would she be able to trust her feelings for noelle learning that it was all out of her control, that she hadn't been given a choice?

this isn't even to say they won't end up together in the end. its just to say it can't be like this. it cant be with a noelle who doesn't really respect susie's personhood and sees her more as an object whose affection must be won, and it can't be by the will of a divine entity that orchestrated everything for susie to end up with her. it has to be susie's choice.

this is kind of why i like ralsusie. what better way to make a display of your agency than to reject literally everything others have coaxed you into? rejecting the prophecy, rejecting noelle's advances, rejecting the player's agency, rejecting the concept of darkners not being real people.

its not like she can only choose to be the bully no one likes or the hero protector who ends up with noelle. its a false dichotomy, where fate locks her up and offers an escape, but the "escape" is only another cell. true escape is carving your own path, playing by your own rules.

Kris has a crush on Susie and I can prove it

GREETINGS, I HAVE COME WITH KNOWLEDGE THAT I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE.

First of all, my goal is to demonstrate that Suselle ISN'T the only ship that's being built up, but Krusie aswell. (That doesn't mean that Suselle doesn't have any evidence)

WHERE THE HELL DO I BEGIN????

Evidence

To begin with, when you give Susie Tea to Kris, they'll get a 120 heal, with extra dialogue, which is as follows:

S: STOP LOOKING AT ME!

R: (They seem into it.)

This is very interesting, since not only is it the tea that heals the most to Kris, it also implies that they are 'into' Susie, which has romantic connotations.

Of course, this isn't everything, because the Susie fight has some secrets in there as well.

When you have the 'option' to fight Susie in Scarlet Forest, if you wait long enough, the heart will move by itself and choose Let's not fight for a split second. You can actually see it on ANY playthrough if you look closely.

In the fight, there's an act you can do with either Susie or Lancer, which says Anything, and if you click it for the first time on either of them, Kris will complement them over how their hair flows in the wind. If you do this on Susie though, she will say 'Really?...Shut up and fight!' Granted, this isn't very solid, as Kris will say the exact same thing to Lancer.

There's ALSO the fact that after the Spamton NEO fight, the game makes a point of the fact that Kris wants to be hugged by Susie, not Ralsei.

I would also like to mention Poppups, of all things... One of the many interactions Kris can have with them is 'You unconsciously clicked on a popup about "monsters 4 humans" "in your area"

This shows that Kris is romantically interested in monsters. Perhaps they already have a crush?

NOW I BEGIN WITH THE MINDFUCKERY: KRIS' RED SOUL MAIN TRAIT: Love

We KNOW this is the case because of Papyrus. In one of his phonecalls for Hotland, he says: "MAYBE L STANDS FOR LOVE"

Undyne: "But isn't love supposed to be FIREY RED?! Like a cartoony human-heart?

Then, they talk about how Undyne turns people's hearts into green.

And, well, all the main human's souls have been exactly that: firey red cartoony human-hearts. Which is very interesting, because the only times they go out of our control is when they have to do with either Susie, or when they show their FIREY RED EYES, after all- they ARE the window to the soul. In fact, at the end of ch 2, when Kris takes out the soul, the first thing they do is look at Susie in front of her, before doing all the weird things they do.

Conversely, the only time when we can completely control them is in the weird route, which has connotations of a toxic romantic relationship (remember the ThornRING?). After all, LOVE can mean two VERY different things.

This also means that the red soul can't be the player's soul, as they are just as likely to be Love than Perseverence, for example.

AND FINALLY: THE SWEEPSTAKES

This is important because in new girl, Kris takes a bite of the already bitten apple by Susie, which could be interpreted as planting an indirect kiss. There's also the fact that Kris never tells their mom about Susie, showing that they don't want her to get punished. And how could I forget about the very mysterious thing they said to her that somehow managed to get under Susie's skin? I honestly don't have a solid answer for this, but I just mentioned this just in case.

And that's everything, I think? This post was originally going to be about Susie's own crushes, but the evidence for Kris' crush on Susie was so unfathomably big this HAD to be it's own post. I just hope I made you think about the relationships of these characters a bit more. Hi! Just finished my second reread of Dream Come True and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA its amazing! You could definitely be a published author with the skills you have. I'm literally writing this just so i can point out not everything i liked because that would be just me copying the entire fic link but the things i liked the most

-i love how the vessels each have their own distinct and concrete personality, motives, and moment to shine. It would've been easy to just make them mostly the same and fight them at once, but you didnt, and i love that!

-carol. i love how you write carol. a lot of fics, especially trans-noelle suselle fics, make carol a straight up villain. no hate to tension points, but your take on carol is a lot more complex and nuanced than theirs. of course she's going through a lot, she lost her daughter and is on the brink of losing her husband and now her remaining daughters throwing herself into all this danger

-dess not knowing how to fit herself into the light world after growing up isolated from everyone and ruling a kingdom is a really good arc for her

-while we're on the subject of holidays, you even give rudy more depth. hes not a perfect parent, he's hiding his problems just like carol, though through laughter and smiles rather than icy detachment.

-bruh you gave almost everyone a character arc. thats a real tough challenge for such a densely packed cast, and a popular cast as well. and each arc is literally spot on

-apparently ralsei being kris' headband is popular fanon but i first heard about it though dream come true and it just makes too much sense

-i love red and i love their relationship with kris. i love the part where ralsei offers kris the chance to get their soul back and they refuse, even though red wants to. (do kinda wish they were a little meaner because kris could do Epic Amounts of Trolling now that they're dating berdly but alas red is kindness so that will never happen)

-love all the little snowgrave references, especially ambitions "you know what i would do with that power?" speech.

-little detail but i love how in the medieval flashbacks they speak in funny medieval talk

-the fact that you snuck in a "based? based on what?" joke in the middle of the fucking apocalypse

-no hate to suselle but krerdly is my favorite deltarune ship and you snuck them in at the end in the best way possible

usually my taste in deltarune fics (and fics in general) is fluffy slice of life hometown drama, and you fucking got me. i went "ooh suselle teehee" with dare to dream and stealing kisses and now theres the angel and gaster and dess and the bunker and i loved it. 20/10. holy shit this went on much longer than i thought it would

Searching for Beta readers for my Undertale/Deltarune fics?

So far I've just been asking my friends for beta reading but deciding to search for more wider beta readers in the fandom.

(Decided to do so after reading this guide)

I've currently got 2-3 2-4 beta readers working on the fic, though most of them are just basically people who read it earlier. The one who's been the best at beta-reading I think wont be able to keep up with my one chapter every two weeks schedule, (and I'm actually considering making that just the "minimum goal" and just having a more loose schedule) so sending this off to find more betareaders.

Here's some relevant info if your interested.

The current fic I'm working on is a Snowgrave fic, so expect it to be dark and full of some angst. I've so far got 5-6 9-10 chapters written, at various stages of drafts/betareading. Also some CW/TW so far for this fic: Anxiety, trauma, guilt, grief, gaslighting, panic attacks, emotional/psychological manipulation and abuse, physical abuse (Thorn Ring), mind control, and suicidal ideation (Crossed out the last one as it was only in older drafts. May return later though.) While reading let me know if I need to add more. Expect the rating to be in the "Teen And Up Audiences" range on AO3, or at least that's what I'm aiming for.

This snowgrave fic is going to be Suselle centric, at least for the first section. (What? Need some stuff to lighten the mood so it ain't 90% angst darkness. Maybe 55-60% angst/Darkness, and 40-45% hurt/comfort, and some gay Suselle things)

I have plans for less angstey/more fluffy fics in the future, so dont worry if you want you can just get in contact for when I have less... dark fics... For these fics, two examples I have are 1: "A kind of ambitious post-pacifist Undertale fic I've always wanted to write that I'm waiting until I get some experience for" 2: "A few Deltarune prequel fics set before Dess's disappearance, the main one being about Noelle realizing she's trans because I love the headcanon and wanted to do my own take." (EDIT: Think if I'm ever writing this, I think I'm going to make this fic broader/not just Noelle centric. Probably going to start with Kris coming out as enby to Azzy.) Generally for my fics I'm aiming around the "General Audiances/Teen And Up Audiances" rating on AO3.

I just want some general beta reading for the fics I write. (just generally on everything). However, one thing I'm going to be looking for in later fics is anyone under the non-binary umbrella willing to do sensitivity reading. I plan for the Post pacifist UT & DR prequel fics to go into Kris, Frisk, and Chara's enby gender identities. (Examples: Asriel helping Chara realize their enby in my UT fics, and Kris coming out as non-binary at the start of my "Noelle realizes she's trans pre-canon Deltarune fic which would have at least one subplot about Noelle realizing she's trans" fic.) While I am trans, I'm not non-binary, so I'd want some sensitivity readers go over that and point out if I've messed up anything when it comes to Enby rep.

Feel free to include your first reactions while reading the fic! (from the friends who've beta read in the past, seeing their reactions were honestly the best part lol)

Current scheduled: currently I'm just writing a back catalog of chapters for the snowgrave fic. Don't really have a schedule but I at the fastest I plan to release chapters at a pace of one chapter every two weeks. Once I've gotten the first three to five chapters beta-read by all my readers I'll likely start sending off chapters at that pace at least. I don't want to compromise my writing quality with deadlines. My only real goal is to finish/at least release the first few chapters before Deltarune Chapters 3-4 gets released.

If you want to have a snippet of my past writing, I've so far posted one fic on AO3 about Noelle coming out as trans to Berdly. (Though I honestly think I've done a lot more unpublished fic writing so I do think I've improved quite a bit since this fic)

ride the cyclone as deltarune characters

ages ago i made this post, and after giving it some thought i realised there are even more parallels between ride the cyclone and deltarune than i first thought. going by premise alone, they're both about a group of teenagers who find themselves in a strange world and (in some way) are searching for an escape. not only that, but the characters are similar in some ways. so, without further ado, the cast of my rtc deltarune au! (also some of the pictures got weirdly cropped so click for better quality)

ricky potts -> kris dreemurr

our beloved non-verbal protagonists! i can very much see ricky taking a semi-leadership role if he was thrown into deltarune, already being familar with strange, fantastical realms.

mischa bachinski -> susie

while we don't really see much of what earnt mischa his 'angriest boy in town' reputation, he does appear to put on a tough, agressive facade. clearly, though, he's got a big heart and has a lot of love to give :') meanwhile, susie is the school bully, but as the story progresses, we see that there's a lot more to her than that.

noel gruber -> noelle holiday

how could i not have noel as noelle - they have almost the same name? beyond that, though, the bit in noel's monologue about wanting 'bad love' kind of reminds me of noelle's not-so-subtle desire for susie to bully her. and if you've seen the previously linked post, you know my thoughts on the similarities between nischa and suselle.

ocean o'connell rosenberg -> berdly

LISTEN. both are high achievers, both have trouble putting others before themselves, and don't tell me you can't see berdly singing what the world needs. also, this makes the ocean and noel dynamic very funny, as it's fun to imagine either ocean and noel being friends, and though noel doesn't actually like ocean that much, he's still friendly to her, or noelle and berdly just being openly hostile to each other.

constance blackwood -> ralsei

technically, the character i think constance is most like is noelle, and she and ocean's dynamic is more like noelle and berdly, so consider her a noelle understudy, i guess. still, i think she also fits as ralsei, as they're both really nice, sweet people who actually have more to them than that. plus, 'the nicest girl in town' and 'fluffy boy' just have similar energies to me.

jane doe -> goner kid

no lancer in this au, i'm afraid, as the only person who i think could at all fit that role would be mischa. again, i guess he could be the lancer understudy, but anyway.

i'm kind of cheating with this one, as goner kid is an undertale character, not a delarune one, and they only have a tiny role in the game, but jane fits them too well not to give her this role! i mean, this is goner kid's dialogue:

"have you ever thought about a world where everything is exactly the same... except you don't exist? everything functions perfectly without you... ha ha... the thought terrifies me."

imo, you could replace jane's lion monologue with those lines and it would fit perfectly! also, goner kid's alive counterpart is monster kid, just as penny lamb is to jane!

karnak -> gaster

i've heard theories that gaster is deltarune's narrator, so this one technically isn't cheating. they're both pretty ominous, mysterious characters with little known about them. i mean, how did karnak get his powers or sentience in the first place?

so that's my au! i hope this appeals to at least a few people! maybe someday i'll create some actual content for this au, as i really think it would work well!

Her name is Mari, she's the same age as Kris, Susie, Ralsei ect and lives in Hometown, not really with anyone, she just lives there. She's absolutely obsessed with Kris and believes they're soulmates because they're the only humans she knows (Kris hates her). She loves astrology more than anything and she knows almost everything about it. Honestly, I only made her because I shipped Kralsei and Suselle and realised Berdly didn't have anyone and even though he doesn't really need anyone I kinda think he deserved it so yuh. She's friends with Berdly and Noelle (but she's only friends with Noelle because Berdly is, she does like Noelle tho) and absolutely hates Ralsei (ironically)

YES i’m gonna post a lot about the mlp au today shut up i’m sick and i’m binge watching i can’t be stopped

anyway i’m losing it over mark and sunny as spruce and gloriosa

since i already changed the relationships a shit bit for the main series (appledash isn’t the canon relationship at the end of the show, instead it’s flutterdash for suselle) they’re obviously changed to be. well. sunburned

and i just like the idea of sunny trying to be all “i have got this, i literally have magic i’ve got this i can do this i am not going to ruin everything and i am going to preserve this place” meanwhile mark is just like “yup. this sure is a camp alright- what is my gf doing”

this is why in the dark world tassi gives her candles and soap she needs to fuckig relax

except it’s not cube sunny that needs to relax it’s human sunny because angela needs a BREAK

also i find it very funny that bubblegum would think “oh lord. mark is being an asshole and trying to sell the camp wtf” only to meet dark world mark later on and be like “oh this is the mark who’s a war criminal ok”

dark world mark needs to repent for his sins and pray to god meanwhile human sunny . was forgiven almost immediately AND I SEE WHY DONT GET ME WRONG but gloriosa should’ve faced repercussions for her actions other than. extreme guilt

okay look i know its in bad taste to spend this long dogging on other people's ships but i've just been having a lot of thoughts about this today.

the idea that suselle is a foregone conclusion is stupid! and that's not because toby fox is just trolling, he's not that dense to pull a pointless bait and switch. its stupid because part of deltarune's narrative is about narrative, and about predestiny! beads on rails, puppets on strings, dark worlds as fiction, all this!

like, let me use my ralsology degree to paint a picture for you here. ralsei, as a symbol, represents traditional RPG stuff. he's been suckered into a worldview where darkners are NPCs, less than people, and ultimately exist to serve both the player characters and the broader narrative. his perception of right and wrong is childish, and he offers simple-minded platitudes as explanations. ralsei believes that everything they do is predestined to some degree, that while they can change how they act and how others feel about them, their relationships, their arcs, their battles, these are all laid out in advance.

and he's wrong about all of it.

darkners are very much people with intricate personal lives, hopes and dreams, complex motivations behind their actions. right and wrong is more complex than, well, right and wrong, and their quest is very much not predetermined, as we can see on snowgrave.

what's more, deltarune's narrative seems to be about how ralsei is wrong. with the secret bosses, and the beads on rails and all that stuff. kris is an unwilling protagonist being forced down a path they don't want to go down. darkners are shown to be people, and yet it seems like the DELTA WARRIORS will be forced to treat them like they aren't. susie herself rejects every narrative and gameplay convention ralsei lays out for her, from the concept of being nice to enemies on principle to the player's sense of choice in the game they're playing.

...and you mean to tell me you trust Ralsei here?!

yes, that's right! ralsei, guy whose worldview is making everything worse for everyone, himself included, is a suselle shipper!

if you go back to the ferris wheel billboard after the susie intermission, ralsei will think to himself that susie must still be thinking about her ride with noelle.

and guess what HE'S FUCKING WRONG. all susie cares about is what the hell a ferris is!

(this isn't to say susie didn't enjoy the ride or doesn't sometimes think about noelle, just to be clear.)

i think there might even be another scene with the same premise but i can't remember.

point is, ralsei expects after a scene he knew was gonna happen that susie would be thinking about noelle, and he's wrong. its likely ralsei believes that suselle is gonna happen, because its part of susie's arc or something.

and considering his worldview hurts everyone, and susie rejects it wherever she can, and generally the story is about how the characters in the story reject the paths forced upon them by the narrative, are we really saying that ralsei is right about this one thing?

saying "susie likes noelle but doesn't know it yet" just feels so gross sometimes! like, come on! you're basically doing exactly what ralsei is doing, saying that its a foregone conclusion that they'll end up together, and that if susie doesn't show signs of having feelings for noelle (even in a goddamn non-canon valentines email!!) its because she just hasn't realized that that's what she wants yet. its almost like saying you know what she wants better than she does, that she'll be happy doing what you want her to do, because that's just how it is.

and i know susie deltarune isn't real but come on! there's a clear parallel here between the narrative imposing arcs and labels upon characters against their will which they then fight against, and imposing romantic feelings onto a character they don't seem to have because that's what's best for you!

i'm not going to say suselle isn't going to happen, but i am going to say there is NARRATIVE REASON for it NOT to happen, because the in-universe narrative, the legend of delta rune, fate, predestiny, WHATEVER, seems to be the bad guy here!
