Chicago Fire Season 12, Episode 1, “Barely Gone,” is a bittersweet homecoming that almost feels like the beginning of the end, even if that’s unlikely with the show. With Law and Order: SVU’s track record and the One Chicago universe still performing as well as they do, it sometimes feels like these shows could go on forever. Still, there’s something intrinsically sad about the episode, and it’s not just because it preludes two character exists with one happening within the show’s forty-minute run.
If, for instance, this is the start of the show’s curtain call, then I personally wouldn’t be mad about it. (I spend almost every episode too stressed out about character deaths, and I’d like to pretend they all live happily ever after.) But Chicago Fire “Barely Gone” does what the show does best, and it reminds us of the prodigious heart present inside Firehouse 51. The show is hard to escape, largely because of the dynamics and part of what made Season 11 as frustrating as it was is the sheer absence of these more somberly wholesome moments.

For the fandom year in review: 1, 4, 6, 7, 13, 14, 15, 16
Favorite fictional characters this year Remy Scott from FBI: Most Wanted, Elendil from TROP Favorite books read this year: Archangel's Resurrection (Guild Hunter, #15) by Nalini Singh Wrapped In Black (The Original Sinners #6.4) by Tiffany Reisz The Gangster and The Doctor (Magic and Steam #2 & 3) by C. S. Poe
Favorite movies of the year Enola Holmes 2 (2022) 20 ans d'écart (2013) (I watched so few movies this year, I have a lot to catch up on.)
Favorite TV show episodes of the year SVU 24x9 (rollissi wedding, duh!) The Rookie 5x9 Yellowstone 5x6, although I think it was the season 5 premiere that got me thinking how the fuck is this particular freaking show of all the one making me grin like an idiot. TROP 1x3, 5, and 8 (5 if I have to pick one)
Favorite villain of the year Well, that's either easy or hard to pick, depending if you count our completely unsuspecting-but-absolutely-very-sus-Halbrand-but-oops-actually-Sauron a villain??? I know, I know, Sauron=evil incarnate, except, well' nothing is evil from the beginning' and TROP delivered on this tenfold.
If not, then Robert Kamdar (or Kemdar? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) from The Cleaning Lady. Hats off to the writers for the story arc and the actor for pulling it off. He really was a villain-villain that I hated but loved to hate.
Favorite m/f ship of the year Gladriel/Elendil, Galadriel/Sauron, Elendil/Miriel from TROP Thony/Arman from The Cleaning Lady (but also Arman/Nadia, a bit yeah.) Always Beth/Rip from Yellowstone Rollisi (obviously) (oops, wait I was supposed to just pick one. Well, you know me. :D)
Favorite f/f ship of the year I really, really could ship Nadia/Thony (and of course Nadia/Arman/Thony but alas I'm gonna have to do something about it myself if it's gonna happen in fandom-ish way)
Favorite m/m ship of the year Um, so this fic sold me on Sauron (Annatar)/Celebrimbor and now I'm not okay. And, this other fic is very much selling me Elendil/Valandil (from TROP, obviously not from the Silm), ahem.
Whew, this took me a long time. But thank you for indulging me, it was a lot of fun reminiscing! :D

Too 5 books you were not expecting to be as good as they were
1. Vincas Mykolaitis - Putinas "Altorių šešėly". The way this book resonated with me is insane 🤯
2. Antanas Škėma "Balta drobulė"
3. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
4. A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS BOOK ENOUGH!!!
5. The Book of Life by Deborah Harknes! The first two books were good, but this one was my favorite, I didn't expect the last book of the series to be that good!!
Thank you so much for asking, dear anon! ❤️

This Abbott episode was so good it had 10/10 laughs, shipping fuel and a heart warming message. Making new friends is hard and it’s still hard but you gotta take the first step and sometimes it sucks. The unknown is so scary and sometimes I really hate it. My comfort zone is where I want to stay sometimes but getting out is good to. I get the feeling that Janine was only friends with Erika and the others out of association so I hope that after this party she genuinely makes some new friends. She’s so relatable to me and I love her so much!
On another note she looked really good in this dress and my man Gregory could not look away ahh I love them! The banter talk that they had earlier it was all so good ❤️

Her reaction is very bashful and longing, she’s fantasizing about it while she tucks her hair back as her smile widens. She’s so happy, she wants to Mrs. Carisi

He’s so proud and honoured to be married to her even if it’s for a little bit. It won’t just be for a little bit for long he’s going to marry her he was imagining it than just like he always was.

I can’t believe this they almost kissed it was so magical! Janine came out of her comfort zone and danced with him and they shared this moment and they both leaned in!!! They would have both started dating if they kissed definitely but Ahh the text I’m here for it though. Slow burns are the best we’re gonna be here for a while. They were insane this entire episode from the awkward/ I’m so into you talk in the club to the dancing and Greg indirectly calling her beautiful it was perfect 😻 I have a feeling they might not talk much during the break and maybe things will be awkward once they get back. Janine might wonder if he’s still dating Amber and what if Janine dates someone. Janine has this new confidence that I love so I wonder how that will factor in the second half. I’m so proud of her for making the first move and I’m so ready for what comes next ❤️

My #1 post of 2022
Amanda Rollins is a special, well developed, complicated and wonderful character who went through so much hell but found happiness and love. This was the beginning of her journey with Carisi the love of her life and just the start of her happiness. I love Amanda and I’m sad that she’s leaving she was beloved by many. I love her and Rollisi and it hurts that come mid season she’ll be gone. I’ll still write fic though because I’ll always love Rollisi. Wishing all the best to Kelli and I hope Amanda’s last episode does her character justice

Milquetoast watches Stalked
Stalked   S1xE8 Special Victims Unit: Episode Review
________________________________________________________________
Tumblr media
What this Episode is About: Stabler fears a combative Benson will be the next victim of a real estate agent suspected of sexually assaulting and murdering a lawyer.
________________________________________________________________
Olivia knew the victim. Interesting.
So Munch thinks this guy is a serial killer...um...is that picked up again later on in the episode?
Elliot: “Rewalk the crime scene with Benson.” BENSON!? I don't think I've EVER heard Elliot call Olivia by her last name. It’s either Olivia or Liv.
Tumblr media
Olivia found that book very fast.
Oh Jeeze! This guy is so indecisive. "Get me a coke...pepsi...coke."
Tumblr media
White: "She was confused she didn't know how the world worked." Lets just blame everyone else but yourself. OOOh Elliot says that to him!
I like Munch is all like I'm not going to let you walk all the way home through the south bronx.
"I don't just want to rain on your parade. I want to blow up all your floats." Munch really has the best lines on this show.
Munch just says Madigo's crime, right in front of all his coworkers. Gotta love Munch for toying with people.
"Oh would you look at this what a cliché, he shaves his head trying to make himself look different but he makes himself look more and more ugly." Cassidy you could really just go for the obvious skin head remark but instead he just comes out swinging some softballs instead. I don't know how you go from witty Munch to Cassidy who is the opposite of smooth.
Tumblr media
Munch is really enjoying messing with this guy.
White’s Partner: "Richard could be a really sweet man but he could be abusive." Sounds like the classic manipulative psychopath. Charismatic on the outside but then he shows his true colors.
White was clearly stalking her and instead of reacting the way the ADA normally would have by flashing her badge and telling White to get lost. She leaves instead, as he rattled her. Did this women go to the police about him?
Olivia: "He's stalking her." Cragen: "Impossible. We don't have a stalking statue in New York. Ergo there's no way to stalk anyone." OMG is this true! There's not stalking statue. HOW IS THIS NOT A THING!? Like stalking is a serious crime that can (and in this case resulted in murder). That's so messed up.
Tumblr media
White stalked his real-estate partner too!
Why are Cragen's handcuffs hanging on this lamp....? Was he having some sexy times in there?
Tumblr media
Olivia is really inside this guy's head. She really understands what makes him tick. Control. I love how they start this conversation all relaxed leaning back but then both Elliot and Olivia lean forward towards Cragen.
Why is White so suddenly hot and bothered by Olivia? Because she's a strong woman and he wants to control her?
"Your alibi is shredding. Yeah the lockbox. It seems like anybody could have used it if they had your code. You don't have to be there." OOOH so it was his partner who covered for him.
OOooh so he's fixated on Olivia now. He has already looked into her background.
Olivia: "Your a nosy parker." hahaha What!? Who says that? Who wrote this dialog!? Olivia isn't crass but she's not so prudish that she'd say something like that. Who talks like that?
White's partner isn't even a partner in their real estate firm!? So he pays her under the table 3 grand to not be a partner?
So she did call the cops. And that's where that scene with Olivia and Cragen comes in. "There's not law against what he did." No law against stalking is so beyond messed up. And this is happening in the year 2000.
She found a map of central park under his couch. That's a new hiding spot.
Tumblr media
White is up in the wind...so where did he go?
Awwwe Munch, offering to give Olivia a lift home because he's concerned about her. That's so sweet.
There's a picture of a guy on Olivia's desk...is it...Elliot?
He found a list of places on a pad of paper in White's apartment. Elliot thinks they were places the victim frequented turns out they are places that Olivia's been. So he's officially stalking her now.
Hahah Elliot came to Olivia's place to take her to work. They are all so concerned for her. I love how she calls him out on his little lie.  You were totally not in the neighborhood. You came all this way from the station and back to my place. She's too smart for you Elliot.
And Olivia honey, you are in denial. He is totally stalking you.
I also love how the two of them are just drinking out of the same glass. Like it's an everyday normal thing. Sharing food. They've been working together for a year and a half now. The two of them are already really great friends. I really want to see what they are like when they first met.
Tumblr media
So White kills this woman just to mess with Olivia? What a crazy psycho.
That's a WHOLE lot of blood.
It's eight episodes in when I realized that Jeffries partner is Lenny Briscoe's nephew. I wonder why we don't see him all that often.
Cragen showing his dad love to Olivia. Everyone is so concerned for her. It's really sweet.
OH shit! Flowers!
Tumblr media
This woman is such a cliqued rich bitch baddie.
White’s rich mom: "He was going to look up some special lady friend. A police woman." OMG!! It's Olivia!!!!
Tumblr media
White’s rich mom: "I told him he should drop her, before she started taking from him. No offense but I understand that you people don't make any real money. And for that, you get to deal with filth all day." Elliot: "All shapes and sizes." I love this dialog!!! She's such a bitch. And Elliot is a bitch right back to her.
Tumblr media
With a little smirk on his face. Like I got you, Bitch!
Elliot: "Blink your lights when you get inside." He is so scared that White is going to come after her. And she knows that he won't leave until he knows she in there. Like hot damn! These two.
She has no bedframe. What are those sheets?
She looks so scared but of course Olivia isn't alone here. I mean she's not alone like when she goes to met Lewis.
I love how Elliot is the first one to burst out! Like he can’t wait any longer. LOVE that Cragen is the one to knock him down with a kick to the legs.
Tumblr media
White: "You lying coward bitch!" Of course she's going to lie to you.
OMG they are so close to each other. They are in each other's faces. Who talks that close!? On the other hand you could get closer.
So that's why he fixates on Olivia. She's exciting, especially after he killed the ADA. He talks like she's so boring going to the park at the same time everyday reading.
Chanting...? huh?
So that's how he keeps control with Olivia. He's not going to confess to how he killed her.
White: “Detective Stabler...How are Kathy and the kids?” OOOOh he looked into Elliot too! It’s creepy but...not his usual MO.
Tumblr media
________________________________________________________________
Final Thoughts: Well, I enjoyed this episode. Olivia's first stalker...not sure how many there are but I hear there are a lot. I always thought that this guy was going to come back at some point, but he never did when Elliot was still there.
Love seeing the squad rally around Olivia, being super protective of their girl. Munch offering her a lift home, Cragen not wanting Olivia to continue with the case after knowing White was stalking her. I love that Olivia uses the his own words against him to let him keep her on the case. Most especially love Elliot being super protective. He won't let her go home on the subway, made sure to get her to blink her light so he knew she was inside. And then he came to pick her up by a really round about way.
I think the one misstep about this episode is the actor who played White. In this last scene he seems, not so intimidating. I get it, he’s too smart. He know’s what she wants, he knows she wants a confession and the correct details. And so he’s making fun of her because he won’t play her game. But...I think they could have cast him better.

omg! i know it's obvious to anyone with a brain that elliot and olivia are in love with each other, but richard wheatley dropping the news to angela makes me wonder if there is a mole inside the police department who is aware of elliot and olivia's closeness? i will throw hands if richard hurts olivia. 🥺

so, are we getting a real kiss between elliot and olivia next week, or are we gonna have to wait another 22 fucking years? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i'm not saying that they have to make love with each other, because i still feel it is too soon. like, save that for next season. however, a kiss? bring it on! 🖤🥀

Hulu New Releases: September 2021
https://ift.tt/3zxzTpM
September usually means the beginning of the traditional fall TV season. As such, Hulu’s list of new releases for September 2021 contains some impressive TV swings.
For starters, all of ABC and Fox’s (both now united under the Disney banner alongside Hulu) fall season offerings will be made available to stream on Hulu the next day. More impressively, however, two FX on Hulu originals make their way to the streaming world this month.
The first is the long-awaited adaptation of the classic comic Y: The Last Man. The story of a virus that destroys every mammal with a Y-chromosome (save for one escape artist and his monkey) is set to premiere on September 13. Shortly after that, the B.J. Novak-produced anthology series The Premise arrives on September 16. Even those who are fatigued from timely anthology concepts will want to check this one out.

Tiptoeing through the “Raising the Dead” guest cast.
Frank Military as David Kessler Before he was electrocuting Sam, drilling Deeks’s teeth, blowing up the team in Mexico and coming up with the band of streaming serial killers (still an open storyline), Frank Military was a working actor.  He had guest roles in Miami Vice, C.A.T. Squad, Superboy, The X-Files, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, CSI and Windfall.  Appeared in a few feature films as well.
I checked out the AV Club review of “3”, The X-Files episode with Military.  They were not a fan but it is a retro review (it wasn’t as good as Buffy – well, Buffy wasn’t on in 1994).  Their look at Military’s character John:
“The trio of vampires that Mulder tracks down aren't exactly Anne Rice heavy, but they are pretty tedious. The only one we get to know at all, John, looks like he just got thrown out of a Creed concert. During interrogation he spouts the usual religious rhetoric, and in one of the ep's few cool moments, Mulder doesn't buy it–believing John's faking his condition, Mulder has him put in a cell with a high window. The sun rises, and John burns. Later on he comes back, which is about the only interesting thing he manages to accomplish, even if it a little vague.”
The Creed concert line has some real truth to it.
Izabella Miko as Michelle Boucher Played Raja in The Cape and Katya in Chicago Fire.  Appeared in episodes of Deadwood, Chaos, Love Bites, Law & Order: SVU, Supernatural, Anger Management, Scorpion, The Mick, Criminal Minds and The Hunters.
Angel Parker as Secret Service Agent Alicia Monroe Was Tasha Davenport in Lab Rats, Shawn Chapman in American Crime Story, Alex Green in The Strain, Heidi Baker in Trial & Error and Catherine Wilder in Runaways.
Guest roles include Angel, Criminal Minds, ER, Eli Stone, The Young and the Restless, The Closer, Castle, Hannah Montana, Days of Our Lives, Soul Man, Sean Saves the World, Gang Related, Rebel, Teachers, Rel, 9-1-1: Lone Star and The Rookie.
Parker in her trailer.
Matt Peters as FBI Agent Michael Rudolph Was in Joel Luschek in Orange is the New Black and appeared in episodes of Weeds, Santiago, Rush Hour and Superstore.
Bojesse Christopher as Deputy Warden Max Fielder Played Billy O’Connell in Picket Fences and Det. Richard Kitting in True Detective.
Guest roles include Married with Children, Ferris Bueller, DEA, Silk Stalkings, Quantum Leap, Beverly Hills 90210 (1994), Unhappily Ever After, Pacific Blue, High Incident, Land’s End, Good vs. Evil, Strange Ones and Deputy.
Christopher provided multiple photos of his time on set with this Instagram post.
Daryl Crittenden as Randy Sinclair Played Chris Bowman in Heroes.  Guest starred in Nip/Tuck, The Young and the Restless, Torchwood, Friends with Benefits, Desperate Housewives, CSI, Franklin & Bash, Black & White, Justified, Days of Our Lives, Hart of Dixie, 2 Broke Girls, Hench, Criminal Minds and Hot in Cleveland.
Critteden also had a few photos with an Instagram post.
Adam George Key as LAPD Officer Harrison Back from “Murder of Crows” last season.  Key co-wrote “Monster” with Frank Military.
Jason Medwin as Prison Guard #1 A rather large fellow, Medwin appeared in episodes of How I Met Your Mother, Torchwood, Scandal, Shameless, Baskets, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, Glow, Lethal Weapon, Jane the Virgin, Single Parents, Euphoria and The Kominsky Method.
David Proffitt as Prison Guard #2 Guest roles in General Hospital, Veep and SWAT (2020).

https://www.fanbolt.com/114407/clarice-season-1-review-promising-notes-of-clarice-starling/
Clarice Season One, created by Jenny Lumet & Alex Kurtzman, has a promising start, but there are some weaknesses in the television show’s tone. Rebecca Breeds portrays Clarice Starling as a brilliant profiler and a woman struggling with mental illness. In addition, the television show captures the FBI during the 1990s. The governmental institution wrestles with racism and sexism. However, until the last couple of episodes, the main issue is that it feels like a glossy procedural instead of a dark and gritty horror crime drama.
Hannibal, developed by Bryan Fuller, does a better job of creating a coherent stylized story while digging into the dark mind of psychopaths and the FBI agents who get lost in their twisted psyches to track down the serial killers.
The CBS television show feels too much like a polished procedural. Part of the problem is that Clarice doesn’t enter the world of psychopath Alastor Pharmaceuticals’ CEO Nigel Hagel until the last two episodes. For fans of the Hannibal television series, the interest is not in solving the mystery but instead unraveling the psychology of the twisted killer.
Following both the FBI’s investigation and the serial killer in Clarice would be especially interesting with Hagel because his psychopathy remains linked with Capitalism. Fuller’s Hannibal was so successful because Mads Mikkelsen as forensic psychiatrist cannibal Dr. Hannibal Lecter, manipulated his friend FBI Profiler Will Graham during his cases while killing people under his nose.
Jenny Lumet and Alex Kurtzman miss that whole point by designing the show like a police procedural that contains well-lit scenes, and the investigative style is a lot like Criminal Minds or Law and Order: SVU. Like network crime shows, the story focuses on the sexual tension between Clarice and her partner, former sniper Agent Tomas Esquivel.
Some early episodes are structured based on solving one case per week instead of figuring out who’s making it look like a serial killer in Washington D.C. It does not help that two of the central characters in the television show are performed by actors who have been in shows Like Criminal Minds or Southland. Both Michael Cudlitz and Jayne Atkinson harken back to classic crime dramas.
The best part of the series is Rebecca Breeds as Clarice Starling. Breeds capture the West Virginian accent perfectly. More than that, she expertly shifts Clarice from a calm agent to spiraling into a PTSD episode within a couple of minutes. For example, later in the season, Clarice runs through the park trying to remember her past. She calmly jogs, holding the necklace her father gave her. Clarice starts to have flashbacks of her therapy sessions, her father calling her his little deputy, and him using her to get out of being beaten up by drug dealers. She speeds up, then suddenly falls. Clarice can’t stand up because she is so overcome by emotion.
The character spends a lot of the first season suppressing the anxiety and emotional pain from her time with the killer Buffalo Bill. Clarice seems to the put-together agent the exact opposite of the young woman she rescued, Catherine Martin, a mentally broken recluse. When Clarice starts her therapy with Dr. Renée Li, she has confusing flashbacks about her beloved deceased father. She suppresses all these traumatic memories from her childhood. Clarice’s father, a West Virginian town marshal, had her deliver partial payments to these local gangsters. One time the gangsters almost shot young Clarice.
These re-awaken memories don’t just further traumatize Clarice but make her realize that she built her FBI career on a lie. Clarice’s ability to understand human nature allows her accurately profile psychopaths, even when they are wearing their disguises.
The television creators could have chosen to write Clarice’s weakness as her small stature or nativity, but the writers made a more exciting choice. Her weakness is her unwillingness to deal with her feelings and PTSD that crystalized before meeting Buffalo Bill.
The sexism and racism that the characters experience bring a sense of realness and drama to the television show. Clarice’s first sexist incident is in the pilot episode when a colleague hides cream and tissues in her desk. The most egregious moment is when a male agent massages her in a surveillance van without any solicitation. While Clarice suffers discrimination in the FBI, her Black best friend, Agent Ardelia Mapp, is doubly oppressed. First, using forensics Ardelia helped solve the Buffalo Bill case but never received the same level of fame as Clarice.
Then during the show, Ardelia solves the cold case of Bobby Larkin’s murder, wins funding for a task force, builds a DNA database for investigations, and applies for a leadership position for a task force involving her expertise. She isn’t even appointed as the senior agent. Instead, Ardelia works under White “senior agent” Eddie, who doesn’t know the first thing about DNA or her database. Eric Phalen, Anthony Herman, and Eddie take credit for her forensics work in the FBI newsletter.
Earlier, Herman criticized her for the newsletter article about her work on the Bobby Larkin case. Being a Black woman traps Ardelia in the basement, working grunt jobs for the cold case unit. It’s uplifting to see the friendship between Clarice and Ardelia despite all the oppression they face. Clarice endorsees the fact the Black FBI Coalition is suing the FBI for racially discriminatory actions using her and Ardelia as an example. The FBI and press dubbed Clarice the poster child for Criminal Profiling while ignoring a Black woman’s significant contributions to solving the case. The television show depicts a loving female friendship but doesn’t ignore the real sexism and racism that FBI Agents who were not straight White men faced during the 1990s.
Clarice Season One is not what I would call “quality television.” Still, it’s refreshing to see Clarice Starling depicted as a complex female character who deals with trauma while still being one of the best criminal profilers in the world.

Meet the Author: ScarlettKate1013
Tumblr media
Hi, ScarlettKate1013!
Stories can be found here.

__________
When did you start writing Olitz? Summer 2020
Tell us about yourself! What do you want readers to know about you? I’m an avid reader. I love music and have classical voice training, but I can’t play a single instrument. I’m a mom to two, an “evil Queen stepmom” to three and a grandmother to two, and I’m probably too old to read fanfiction, never mind write it, but it’s a lot of fun, so I do it anyway.
What drew you to Olivia and Fitz? I didn’t discover Scandal until the beginning of season 5, but I was hooked after one episode and quickly gobbled up the first four seasons. Olivia and Fitz were just everything - romantic, beautiful, angst-filled and gut wrenching at times, but what a ride!
What made you want to write about them? I started rewatching from episode 1 during quarantine and I’d started writing again, so I decided to jump in the deep end of the pool and write a one shot set during the early days of Fitz’s first term. I  just wanted to see a tender moment between Olivia and Fitz before they - and we, the viewers - got blitzed by B6-13.
How would you describe your writing? I’m a pessimist by nature, but my writing tends to be fairly fluffy. I do enjoy writing smut. Don’t look for many earth-shattering plot lines from this gal because I’m only good for some fluffy, oftentimes smutty, goodness with a tiny bit of angst on occasion.
What inspires you to write / create? Usually, I envision a quick scene in my head, or I’ll dream up a short verbal exchange between characters, and I start making notes.
Favorite movies, shows, music? Too many to name, but I can’t live without the Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Marvel Universe or the Star Wars films. Favorite shows are JAG, The Last Ship, Law & Order: SVU, Angel, Seal Team, Bones, X-Files, Once Upon a Time, Army Wives, This is Us and, of course, Scandal. I love pretty much all music.
How long does it take you to write a chapter? If I’ve kept up with my notes and I can carve up a bit of alone time, I can normally do a chapter in an hour or two...but it’s rare that I can carve out alone time.
Did the show’s themes and plots encourage you or discourage you from writing? Encourage.
Writing AU or Canon? Canon.
Reading AU or Canon? Canon.

A favorite line, scene, or paragraph you’ve written.
From “A Lifetime Waiting”
His entire life, he'd been taught to accept what was dangled in front of him, to follow orders, do what was expected of him. He'd lived his life always afraid, hesitant, to get what he wanted. He'd never just stepped up and seized what he wanted, until Olivia. With her, he didn't have to wonder where he stood; he didn't question his worth. For the first time in his life, he loved and was loved, only for himself. His life had been spent waiting – waiting on his father's approval, waiting to be governor, waiting to be president, waiting to be happy. But one petite, raven-haired beauty had changed all that. It had been Olivia who'd broken the cycle of waiting and helped him start living.

Fave Olitz fanfic moments? There have been so many amazing stories I’ve had the pleasure of reading, both canon and AU. They’re all my favorites!

Do you like it when readers engage with you via comments / social media? Yes.
Story Reviews: Love them, hate them? I like reviews, even if they’re critical. I welcome constructive criticism - it’s the only way to improve - but if the review is just flit-out mean and spiteful, well, I simply invite the reader to move along and find something to your liking. There’s enough hate in the world; no need to make it grow with a mean spirited review.
What advice would you give to a new Olitz writer? Do it. You won’t regret it.
Outside of your fics, do you have any fave Olitz stories or authors? I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read in this fandom.
Do you talk to other Olitz authors? If so, do you like the camaraderie? A little bit, through a Facebook group. Everyone has been so friendly and supportive.
Before you go, anything else you’d like to share? This was an amazing idea. I just want to say thank you to everyone who welcomed me into this fandom. Because of the encouragement I’ve received, I’m going to expand one of my stories and I’ve got an outline going for an AU of the season 3 finale.

A Single Life S1xE2 Special Victims Unit: Episode Review
________________________________________________________________
Tumblr media
What this episode is about:  Benson and Stabler run into multiple dead ends while investigating the case of a woman who fell to her death wearing only a slip.
Grocery guy: "Two for a dollar!" Olivia: "I only need one." That's a HUGE bag for like three items.
Girl tomatoes last a long time, go ahead and buy two.
Olivia is pissed and dishing it out and I AM HERE FOR IT! Elliot is over here backing her up! I LOVE how Elliot is like: "Detective Benson" whenever someone disrespects Olivia. Like yo! show her some respect! She's not some civilian or a beat cop.
Tumblr media
They (this whole cast) really have a great rapport.
Jefferies is always heckling Munch. And I am also here for that too!
"The Subway Stroker" hahahaha, that’s a clever name.
They (this random couple) want to move into this dead girls apartment! That's so tacky!
This episode was written by a woman and directed by one too!!!

YEss!! Girl power!

Olivia: "I'm never home. I'm always with you." What do we learn in this scene? Elliot and Olivia spend more time together on the job than, she does at home. And more time than he does with his family. After a wonderful scene of Elliot and Olivia, bantering light heartedly. He opens up the car for Olivia to put her case files in and proceeds to stare at her. Until she notices and calls him out on it. I thought this scene was romantic then someone pointed out to me that Elliot was seeing Olivia in the victim. Which makes hella sense.
There are define parallels between the two. Olivia lives at home, has no family except her mother. And they have a strange relationship. So if Olivia died who would care? Well...we know Elliot would.  BUT...speaking of which. When Olivia is kidnapped in season (oh god, I don't know a season that Elliot is gone) No one knows until 2 days later.
Elliot sticking his hand into the drain to unclog it. Then looks so smug to have fixed it, only to later realize that it was Dickie's turtle that clogged it. Not food! Oh Dickie, why did you put your turtle in the sink and leave it there?
I think it's interesting they pair up the scene with Elliot and Olivia bantering immediately followed up with a scene of Elliot and his family. I feel like a scene with Olivia at home paired with a scene with Elliot and his family; might be more effective at showing how Olivia is so much like the victim.
Cassidy in court is a much better scene of him than we have seen so far. He's telling the jury what happened at a crime scene and he's having to censor himself. It's kinda funny.  He's been in the unit for eight months? I think Olivia's been their a year. So that makes them both rookies but she seems so much better suited for this squad than he is.
________________________________________________________________
Shrink Doctor to Elliot & Olivia: "I don't accept walk ins or couples." Olivia: "We're not a couple." IT's THE SECOND Episode and they already having to tell people their not a couple.
"Meh" OMG hahahahah what the hell is that!? Dr Mark Daniel's you crack me up! What is sort of noises are those coming out of your mouth? He sounds like a duck quacking. Do yourself a favor when you watch this episode watch the first scene with Dr Mark Daniels.
"Dr patient blah blah blah" lol OMG Olivia!!! I totally think Dr Daniels was the victims boyfriend. I haven't seen this episode in years so I don't remember if is or not.
Cragen is eating again...
I was right! He was her boyfriend (casual or not)
Elliot's partner retired and moved to Florida. His name was Alfonz and he was a big guy. That's a big change from him to Olivia.
"Guess she was his boss. I love that." Girl, I do too! It's Michael Nouri!!!! As the News Anchor that thinks he's gods gift to women! He's an asshole but a beautiful one. I feel like L&O loves hammy acting and at this point is a really great fit for broadway actors.
Cassidy doesn't know what n3croph*** is!? How is he a Special Victims Detective? That's like sex crime 101.
Tumblr media
"In the jungle..." Cragen was a war vet!? I did not remember this! Maybe this is why he's a dry alcoholic.
That scene with Elliot and Kathy is kinda sweet. And Kathy calling him "El" Also Elliot stripping down to his underwear! HOT!!! Lets rewind that...
Tumblr media
Olivia really lives and breathes her job.
Why does a dry alcoholic have a bottle of whiskey in his desk? I remember he was a widower. I didn't remember Mrs Cragen's name is Marge. Or that she was a flight attended that went down with a plane. He says she went down and that’s when he wanted to drown himself in a bottle but that he couldn’t.

Final Thoughts:
Often times SVU uses cases to tell us about the main characters. In this particular one we get more insight into Olivia and Cragen. It was good seeing a few faces I recognized. Overall, not a very memorable case or episode.
We learn so much about Cragen’s character here. Things I didn’t remember. His wife dying in a plane crash and that he was a war vet. I had forgotten about him having a bottle of alchy stashed in his desk for his detectives. HE is still tempted to drink so why does he keep it? That sounds like such a bad idea to me.
Cassidy is an idiot, why is he here? This episode highlights the fact that Olivia and Cassidy are new to the squad but that Olivia fits in way more than Brian does. Brian is pure butt monkey and comedy relief.
This episode highlights just how alone Olivia is. Who would notice if she died? Or if something was wrong with her. Just like the victim. Elliot would be the first one to notice. This is why I wanted them to show Olivia at home alone just being alone. In contrast with Elliot’s very loud household of six people.
