det är för få kotte appreciation posts på tumblr
allt ska man behöva göra själv
liksom KOLLA PÅ HONOM
translation: there's too few kotte appreciation posts on tumblr have to do everything myself like LOOK AT HIM
WHATS THIS SHOW?? for non swedish people, sweden has a "julkalender" (christmas calendar) on tv every year with one episode a day from december 1st until christmas, its a kids/family show and its one of my favourite traditions. its a different story every year and this year its about tiny trolls who live in the woods. its free to watch from any country but its only in swedish rn :/
WHOS KOTTE??? kotte is a ray of sunshine, he's the best older brother there is, he's the friend that always brings a backpack, he can build literally anything, he's the clumsiest peson alive, he invented simping for a powerful pretty woman, he has zero understanding of social cues or norms, he's terrible at lying, he always says what he means, he's the only one with some common sense when it comes to danger but he will do anything to help his little brother, he's literally 🥺, his hat is made out of a pine cone which is also what his name means (pine cone, not hat), he's increadibly autistic, and the first time he tried sugar he ate an entire sugar cube, had what must have been the craziest sugar rush in history, took a nap, and is now obsessed with eating sugar again
this has been a kotte appreciation post
#theres a bunch of fancams of him on the clock app but nothing on here which is a TRAVESTY#i will build this fandom from the ground if i have to#psa not officially autistic but lbr hes autistic#young royals fans might recognise this one btw#swedish things#malte gårdinger#kotte#kotte trolltider#kotte trolltider 2023#kotte 2023#julkalender#julkalender 2023#svt julkalender#svt julkalender 2023#trolltider#trolltider 2023#trolltider legenden om bergatrollet#legenden om bergatrollet#sweden#svenska#svenska memes#page

Meanwhile in Sweden - Tesla Strike Edition
So we all know about the strike action against Tesla in Sweden? Yes? Yes, good.
It was in the news in Sweden today that apparently, someone on Tesla tried contacting the Minister for Employment about the strike-situation, very literally asking for "an audience". Yes, that wording. He asked for an audience to discuss the situation.
Of course, that request was also rejected. Because the government is not supposed to get involved in these things - it's between the unions and the companies, the government doesn't really have a say.
IF Metall, the company that Tesla is beefing with, have made a statement on the matter saying that it's clear that the people at Tesla have no fucking idea about how things work in Sweden.
But let it just sink in for a moment that someone at Tesla thought this was a good idea. We don't know if they had directions from higher up (perhaps even from the Rat himself?) or if they just acted alone. But they acted. And they thought they could get the government involved. They thought they could get the government to intervene on Tesla's behalf.
Let it sink in just how willing they are to take underhanded actions and also just how UNwilling they are to accept that they're not going to get their way.
Oh and also apparently Norway is getting involved now too and are saying that they'll stop the import of Tesla cars into the country if Tesla does not agree to IF Metall's conditions at the latest on the 20th of December.

If I had a nickel for every TV-show I've seen about a down on his luck divorcé taxi driver who gets abducted and made to wear some kind of green tracksuit and then he and the other abducted people get to vote on whether they should stay or not and he votes to leave but ends up staying anyway and is put in a bunch of dangerous situations (also they play "Fly me to the moon" in the first episode) I'd have two nickels.
Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice

Glad Lucia! ✨🕯️🕯️🕯️✨🌿
A holiday with many influences This Lucia celebration only became common in the 1950s.
But historically, lucia is a much older holiday than that and also one of the most diverse traditions in Sweden with a motley background with several influences.
Some elements are an Italian saint, medieval carnivals, a Neapolitan boat song and a feast day in Western Sweden. The celebration originates from several eras, places and religions, and over the years has been both simple and lavish, playful and serious, innocent and indecent, sacred and profane, folk and aristocratic, private and public.
The night of Lucia, the longest night of the year, was mostly associated with dangers and supernatural beings. Lucia Day also provided an opportunity to predict the coming year. Some believed the light would scare away the supernatural.
In northern Sweden there are legends (preserved by the Nordic Museum) that tell that Lucia was a mountain goddess who led the supernatural beings that were in motion on Lucian night.
From the 18th century, Lucia is dressed in white In the higher classes, however, during the 18th and 19th centuries, there was a celebration that is somewhat similar to our time. The oldest evidence of a white-clad Lucia wooing in the morning is from the year 1764 at Horns, at wealthy familys estate in Västergötland. Lucia then had angel wings and carried candlesticks in her hands.
The tradition we associate with today's Lucia celebration originates from 19th-century Western Sweden, where Lucia Day was a day of celebrations.
Traditions, religion, folklore and superstition in a great mix is the background of our Lucia celebrations today. Today she comes and sings, bring with her light and offers lussekatter (saffronbuns).
Glad Lucia, happy Lucia.

It's that time of year again 😊
I told @idreamofboobear about this, a few years ago now, since she's crazy about moose/elk, so now every year when it comes on I think about her.. 💔
I'm still looking for her, or at least looking to find out if she's still alive, so if anyone has heard from her, please give me a shout. It breaks my heart that she just vanished without a word because I don't think she would have if she was well 😟
Anyway, if you wanna see some wild moose go about their days in their natural habitat, unbothered and without any fences around them, here's a link to the article where there's also a link to the Livestream.

Worst mass shooting in swedish history yesterday... at the campus where my sister's best friend goes to school. Luckily she was still on her way to school when she got an alert not to come in, so she could go back home. It's fucking horrific and I'm still kinda in shock.

We've all heard of cousin Throckmorton in American math problems, get ready for what the swedish math problems entail, translated from the circled line and down:
A bankteller was found murdered in his air conditioned office.
When the body was found at 15.00 the body temperature was 29,5 C. At 16.50 the temperature had sunk to 27,0 C. The temperature in the office is constantly at 20 C.
When did the murder occur? Regular body temperature is 37 C.

Matteboken ställer äntligen de riktiga frågorna
#and people say we are obsessed with crime dramas#we are literally spoon fed these kind of things#the text above basically just gives context on the formula on how to calculate decreasing body temperature in a room with even temp#swedish things#translated#blomsterspråk#can someone who has the book give the correct answer? i wanna check if my calculations are right!#i got the answer 9.30 btw

Meanwhile in Sweden - Banking-Edition, or Why Do I Still Have This Account, or We Have Customer Service (Allegedly)
I really have to wonder if the bank I have an account with in Sweden even wants customers to be able to contact them. Or if they just want anyone who is not already a customer to be unable to contact them.
Context: This bank relies heavily on a digital identification method (as does a lot of shit in Sweden, but that's a whole separate rant). They rely on it to the point that if you, as a customer, try to call them for help with something, you have to identify yourself with that. There used to be a number you could call if you didn't want to use that; this was just for general questions and wasn't really for customers to use. I say that there used to be a number like that, because I tried calling it today, and it demands that particular identification method now. Fun.
Extra context: My old phone is a 2012-model that doesn't support the OS demanded for the new update for the app running this digital identification method. Since March, I haven't had access to any online services for my account, which is An Issue. I recently got a new phone as a graduation gift. A gift that I did not really want and very specifically only got because I am pretty much softlocked out of everything in Sweden if I do not have this particular identification method. Tax-office shit, banks, fucking anything, you NEED this thing (again, separate rant). I still have a fucking student loan to pay off in Sweden, so I've kept the account with this bank for the purpose of Minimal Fuckery (which has turned into Maximum Fuckery).
The problem?
I cannot activate this digital identification method on the new phone. It won't let me. You can normally do this in three differnet ways - using your old phone's one (obviously not possible, it won't even let me use the app now), a security calculator thing (think two-step authentication device; I Had one, but it's dead, and you can't switch batteries in them and the bank doesn't send them to addresses not in Sweden, so this is out too), and a passport or ID. I tried using my passport. Works fine - up until I agree to the final terms and conditions, upon which it suddenly gives me the message that it doesn't work and that it's to do with the bank's terms and conditions, but it doesn't tell me what part of those terms and conditions are broken, so Idk what's up.
The additional problem?
I can't contact the bank for help with this. Can't call - all the numbers are softlocked behind this goddamn identification wall. Can't use a chat-service on their site - it's a virtual assistant, which has always been absolutely useless and pointless and stupid. Can't email - they don't accept queries like these via email or even their own internal messaging system anymore. Can't visit an office - the only branch office in Finland doesn't deal with private customers, only businesses.
I resorted to their Facebook page. Got the answer of A - check the page for how to activate this identification method on a new phone (already checked that multiple times, nothing pertainin to my situation there), B - call [insert number here] and use a code with 5 numbers that you picked yourself at some point as identification method instead (I already called that number, did not receive alternate identification methods as an option, and do not recall at any point ever picking a code for anything, so ?????), or C - visit an office in Sweden to get help (which I do not even know when that could possibly happen, if it's next year or the year after).
Gold star, guys. Such great possibilities to contact you. And no, I'm not mad at the customer service person who sent the answer, I'm just mad at the system they've set up where they are literally impossible to contact for anything if you do not have access to these specific things.
