Gonna need to metabolize this chapter slowly because AHHHHH but one thing that really struck me is

how absolutely tragic this panel is.

Fukuchi won.

And all the good guys are safe, the ADA is safe and free, but Fukuchi still won, and this is such a devastating moment for Fukuzawa.

And honeslty, I really loved how the anime did this scene, but having Aya scream of joy is way more effective than having Fukuzawa scream in grief.

Cause now that there are witnesses, he can't scream. He has to play the part, or all of this will have been for nothing.

Sad Boy Hours: Billy Batson

He's trying so hard to get the screaming adults in the room to just stop screaming at each other and be reasonable.

He is immediately dismissed and storms off, justifiably insulted.

And Billy goes right back to blaming himself, trying to figure out where he went wrong, how he could have fixed things, managed the emotions of the room better--even though he is 100% correct and the adults are absolutely failing, and badly.

"Even if he's wrong...I should respect him." Honey, the thing that's eating at you is the absolute dogshit way they act and then expect you to just accept as normal. These grown-ass heroes should not be hitting each other.

And a degree, honey. Several of them.

He sounds like a teacher trying to get the class to behave and that script keeps failing him. Over and over the adults around him dismiss him for his optimism, ignore his calls for reason. And they're heroes. They're the good guys and they tear into each other regularly and viciously. And Billy is fifteen years old in a room of adults screaming at each other. The team is sometimes down right abusive, and this child is trying to keep them from falling apart.

I worry about him, ya know?

I love ek ladki ko dekha to aisa laga so damn much!!!! I know there’s some valid criticism of it but I can’t help but be pulled in by the story. And I especially love Sweety because her character seems so passive but really she has a steel core. Like when she’s talking to Sahil about her brother berating her for being with Kuhu and then in the next breath she says she started secretly going to Delhi to meet her despite her brother’s rage…what a badass. That’s someone with a backbone, someone who loves herself and who believes in herself and who knows that being gay is natural.
