I hardly recognize myself these days. Maybe I’ll be back to that #egirl status someday, but as long as my body keeps doing WHATEVER IT FEELS LIKE, I’ll be over here in my weird #obiwankenobi t-shirt. I don’t know when I’ll be ready to return to conventions. Right now, my #inflammation is inconsistent. It runs me down and makes it hard for me to move. It’s a lot. I never made a profile post about how sick I’ve been for the past 8 months. I don’t like to talk about physical health stuff often because I don’t want the focus of my life to be illness. Without a diagnosis, it’s also hard to explain without extensive details, but so many of you have reached out to ask how I’m doing, so here’s an update. I’ve had some of these symptoms my entire life, sometimes in waves that lasted a few weeks-months and went away, but never like this. Things were bumpy in October, but in December, my body basically gave up on even trying. #Bloating, nausea, dizziness, #headaches, headaches that felt like your head was a balloon being inflated, #swollenglands, rashes, swollen tongue, ringing ears, achey joints, locking jaw and neck, mood swings, brain fog, ringing ears, #insomnia, itching, severe weight gain, uncharacteristic temperature sensitivity, panic attacks, sluggishness, and depression, and all of it made worse every time it rained. (Apparently I had brain inflammation for months!) I saw my allergist, who dismissed it as “not food allergies.” I visited numerous doctors, and finally saw a rheumatologist who tested me for a number of autoimmune diseases from celiacs to hypothyroidism. She asked me, “do you want to see a DIFFERENT allergist?” and today my appointment finally came. We’re now exploring options like mold and yeast allergies and immune deficiency, as well as other environmental and food triggers. If this reads like a personal biography, you are NOT alone. So this morning was a doozy. I started feeling pretty terrible as soon as I left my day job yesterday. We had a #codered here with the #Sonoma #fires still ablaze, and I wore my mask as much as I could outdoors, but something inside of me just shut down and I think my system was overwhelmed with all that’s been happening. Worry can make you physically ill, and weaken your immunity. The mind is a powerful thing and it really got me down. I was really working hard to stay upbeat and positive but I think with all these environmental threats coming at us all day long, it just finally broke down. Last night I was in a #migraine, #sorethroat, #swollenglands #backpain, #congested #sinus #pressure haze as I tended to my family and crawled into a hot shower then bed. This morning as I fumbled to get the kids fed, packed and off to school I knocked over a glass and it exploded into a hundred pieces, shattering right before my eyes. First thing I cleaned the floor, as quickly as I could manage. I cut my thumb and reached for the Rose 🌹 oil. Put my bandaid on and went on with my day. I took the #shatter as a #sign that I’ve been pushin myself too hard. I’m doing everything not to shatter. Dousing myself in all the oils today both #internally #automatically and #topically to support me through this #breakdown My husband says I get sick once a month right in the beginning of my 🌙 cycle.
