Getting your steps in on top of getting your daily workout is super important. 🏃⁣

Moving your body throughout the day boosts your energy, can control blood pressure and cholesterol levels, improves your mood, and can even aid in relaxation. As your body moves, the “feel-good” endorphins in your brain are released, which helps in that mood improvement, stress/anxiety relief, and relaxation. 😊⁣
⁣
Yes, our workouts are still SO beneficial to our heart, brain, and all other aspects of our body, but continual movement is the best. If you happen to have an office job or spend your days stationary, try aiming for at least 250 steps per hour. Even if it’s just a quick walk down the hall or to a different room! 👌⁣

Don’t waste your summer like I used to. 🙅🏼‍♀️⁣

Ok, let me explain.⁣
⁣
I used to spend so much time stressing about my “summer body,” spending crazy amounts of time working out, eating like a rabbit, only to binge on anything and everything before bed and feel like total crap. 💩⁣
⁣
Then, I’d feel guilty and wake up again to overexercise, restrict my food, and repeat.⁣
⁣
This vicious cycle consumed me, especially when I was still in school. I always had a goal of going back to school and blowing everyone away with how much I changed.⁣
⁣
I struggled with this for years, but the summertime was the worst. I thought I had to look a certain way, have a flat stomach, tiny legs…⁣
⁣
But that became exhausting. It wasn’t sustainable. I wasn’t happy.⁣
⁣
When my coach reached out to invite me to her fitness accountability group, I had no idea then, but she was giving me the greatest gift. She was saving my sanity and bringing back my happiness and zest for life.⁣
⁣
I no longer worked out for hours at the gym only to restrict, overeat, and sit in guilt.⁣
⁣
I learned the better way. I learned I COULD eat healthy AND have treats. I learned I COULD workout for 30 minutes a day from home and feel amazing and CONFIDENT.⁣
⁣
Now, my summers and all my days are MINE again. 🙌🏼⁣
⁣

Today, sweat for those who can’t. ❤⁣ ⁣ I try not to, but I know some days I take my mobile body for granted. Our bodies were made to move - to enjoy exercise, push ourselves, and get our hearts pumping! Our bodies can do amazing things for us when we allow it to do the things it was made to do!⁣ ⁣ One of the best parts of my “coach title” is the extra accountability that comes with it. So here I am today, holding you accountable to getting sweaty! 😉 ⁣ ⁣ We’re not always going to feel like working out, that’s just life. But don’t forget how fortunate you are to have the body that you do. Treat it well, it’s the only one you’ll ever have. 😘⁣

I’m doing this thing where every time I start a new workout program, I choose a word that represents what I’m working towards in that program. ⁣ ⁣ And for this new program, my word is... POWERFUL. ✊🏼⁣ ⁣ This program combines strength training, cardio and mobility. The moves are functional and will help me go through not only the workout, but the rest of my life in a more POWERFUL way. ⁣ ⁣ Because I’m not just squatting to have a great booty and legs, I’m squatting so I can be strong enough to run around with my future family.⁣ ⁣ I’m not just doing bicep curls to look good in a tank top, I’m curling so I can easily help lift dogs at work into their owner's cars, and carry the groceries without feeling like I’m about to keel over. ⁣ ⁣ I don’t just workout for the looks...I workout for my LIFE. ⁣ ⁣ So what’s your word gonna be?! ⁣ ⁣ Drop it in the comments below and let me know! 👇🏼⁣

Another 100 days of moving my body EVERY DANG DAY 🙌⁣⁣

If you’ve been on this journey with me for awhile, you know this wasn’t my first “Move Ya Dang Body” streak. I got up to 466 days last time, but an injury I got at work forced me to keep my body rather still for a few days 🙈⁣⁣
⁣⁣
My workout streak is never about punishing my body, forcing myself to do anything, or pushing myself beyond my limits. It has always been about connecting with my body every day, even if it is just 5 minutes of stretching or meditation. Sometimes that is all that we can handle, and that’s okay. We so often get caught up in going through the motions of each day that stopping and taking time for ourselves slips through the cracks. But it can make the biggest difference in our physical AND mental health when we make the commitment.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
For a few months, I continued to show up pretty much every day, but I did not officially re-start my streak. It wasn’t until I got some messages from you lovely people (if you’re reading this far, yeah, I’m probably talking about you 😘) asking me to start a streak again, that made me realize that showing up for myself every day can also help y'all out too. And that has always been my goal!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I never imagined I could inspire others on their journey, just by showing up for my own. Battling with my weight for most of my teen years, I had so many limiting beliefs that I could ever be considered “fit” or “healthy”. But I want y'all to know: IF I CAN DO IT, SO CAN YOU.⁣⁣

I’m going to keep showing up for me AND for you, every day. Here for y'all always 💕⁣

Would you just cancel a meeting at work for no reason or just not show up? ⁣

Noooooo, you wouldn’t, so WHY is it so easy for us to cancel meetings with OURSELVES when it comes to taking care of our health, working out, and eating right? 🤷🏼‍♀️⁣
⁣
It’s so easy for us to get wrapped up in the day-to-day of life and take care of everyone else, but ourselves. When it comes down to getting an extra hour of work in or taking 30 minutes to workout, it’s so natural to choose work. ⁣
⁣
But I’m on a mission to change this pattern and start encouraging others to put themselves FIRST. ⁣
⁣
Because you’ll only show up for others as well as you show up for yourself, and if you’re not showing up for yourself, well, you get it right??⁣
⁣
So I challenge you, start making YOUR time a priority, put it on the calendar, treat it like a business meeting, and SHOW UP. 👏🏼⁣

I love starting each day with a little journaling as I sip my superfoods. This helps me get focused, stay grateful, and keep my goals and my why in check as I head into my workday. ⁣
⁣
After that, I open my laptop, check in on my challengers and offer support, advice, and encouragement in my groups. Then, it’s on to check on my team, see what questions I can answer, and see if anyone needs help. ⁣
⁣
Each coach on my team gets access to ALL of our coaching materials, from daily checklists to post ideas, recommended programs for certain goals, and more! ⁣
