www .wbrz .(com) /news/investigative-unit-rape-victim-ordered-to-pay-her-abuser-child-support/
oh my god, it's real. it's so egregious, and i misunderstood what you said as that it was a reddit story, that i didn't believe it. i have never heard of anything like this in recent US history in my life. his connections have to be insane. (it doesn't say, but this occurred in louisiana)
PONCHATOULA- It's one of the most egregious cases victims' advocates tell the WBRZ Investigative Unit they have ever seen, after a judge awarded full custody to a woman's abuser and forced her to pay child support.
This story dates back decades and involves a woman who was raped at the age of 16 by a man almost twice her age.
Crysta Abelseth knows all too well about overcoming adversity. The now 32-year old is a mother of a teenager that WBRZ has made an editorial decision not to identify because she's a minor. Abelseth's daughter is the child of a rape.
Abelseth met John Barnes in the City of Hammond back in 2005. She says he offered to take her home after a night out at a local restaurant with friends.
"Instead of bringing me home, he brought me to his house," Abelseth recalled. "Once inside, he raped me on his living room couch."
Abelseth did not know Barnes before that night, but came away from it pregnant.
"Everyone assumed it [the pregnancy] was from a boyfriend, and I let them believe that," Abelseth recalled.
Abelseth had a healthy baby girl, and everything was fine until John Barnes learned sometime in 2011 that he might have a daughter.
"When my daughter was five years old, he found out about her, and once he found out about her, he pursued custody and wanted to take her away from me," Abelseth said. "They granted him 50/50 custody despite the fact that [the child] was caused by rape."
A DNA test is part of court documents that proves with 99.97% accuracy, John Barnes is the child's father. Barnes was 30 years old and Abelseth 16 at the time of conception. The act was illegal at the time, even if it were consensual; Abelseth maintains it never was.
Seven years ago, in July 2015, Abelseth pressed criminal charges against Barnes. A report she filed with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office for simple rape details everything that was done to her. Abelseth said she waited to file the police report because she did not know the law.
"I thought if I didn't do it the next day, there was nothing I could do about it," Abelseth said. "I went to a trauma counselor, and he said, 'No, you have 30 years after you turn 18.'"
From 2015 until now, nothing has happened with the report. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office says an investigation is still open.
"It was never assigned to a detective, and nothing was ever investigated," according to Abelseth.
A search of John Barnes shows he owns Gumbeaux Digital Branding, a web company in Ponchatoula. Barnes' website shows Ponchatoula Police as a client.
Court records in the Tangipahoa Parish courthouse show Barnes admitted he's the biological father of the child. This year, he was granted custody of that child even though a criminal complaint was filed in 2015. Mysteriously those records are under seal, hidden from public view.
Stacie Triche works for the non-profit organization Save Lives. She's helping Abelseth through this tangled web that allowed her perpetrator to get custody of the child.
"When I found out she was a rape victim, and this rapist could potentially get full custody, that's when I stepped in and said something has to be done about this," Triche said.
Things took a dramatic turn this year when a judge granted Barnes full custody. It happened after Barnes alleged Abelseth gave her daughter a cell phone. Abelseth said she was also ordered to pay Barnes child support.
"She's been forced to pay her perpetrator," Triche said. "Forced to pay her rapist child support and legal fees and give up custody of the child that's a product of the rape. It makes no sense."
The WBRZ Investigative Unit discussed this case with the Louisiana Foundation Against Sexual Assault (LFASA). Their lawyers said not only is this egregious, but they've never seen a case like it.
"It seems pretty straight forward that not only did a crime take place, but as a result of the crime, this person should not have custody of the child," Attorney Sean Cassidy with LFASA said.
Abelseth said for years she's tried to go about this the right way through the courts. But having her daughter taken away weeks ago over allegations she gave her a cell phone left her with a lack of confidence that she'll ever get a fair shake with justice impossible to find for the past 16 years.
"He's well connected," Abelseth said. "He's threatened me multiple times, saying he has connections in the justice system, so I better be careful and he can take her away anytime he wants to. I didn't believe him until it happened."
Abelseth said a hearing is scheduled next month to revoke Barnes' parental rights.
Barnes admitted over the phone Abelseth's daughter is his, but referred all questions to his lawyer, who never got back to the WBRZ Investigative Unit.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office continues to say the case is still open.
WBRZ reached out to Judge Jeffrey Cashe, who made the custody decision. An employee in his office said judicial canons prevent the judge from talking about it.
If you would like to help Crysta Abelseth with her mounting legal expenses, you can do that by clicking here.

Laissez les bons temps rouler!
Tumblr media
It's that time of year again. Time to listen to cool jazz, throw beads to wild women, and drink powerful cocktails. Mardi Gras has nothing to do with Tiki, but both feature cocktails made with rum,so that's good enough for me.
Tumblr media
Mix #138 The Hurricane
2oz aged Jamaican dark rum 1/2oz Demerara rum 1/2oz overproof Jamaican rum 2oz fassionola red 1/4oz grenadine 1oz lemon juice 1oz orange juice
Shake with ice and pour into hurricane glass.
The Hurricane is the classic drink that is associated with both Mardi Gras and New Orleans. Its creation is attributed to Pat O'Brien's,a famous bar in the French Quarter. There are several versions of the story, but basically they had a whole lot of cheap rum they wanted to get rid of,so they created a drink to do just that. The classic Hurricane features anywhere from two to four ounces of rum, citrus juice, and either fassionola or grenadine(or both) to give it a sweet taste and its signature red color. It's infamous for both its potency and hangovers. This version is from mixologist Brian Maxwell. As with most Hurricane recipes,I know there's rum in this, but I just can't taste it. It's very sweet with a touch of citrus on the end,and packs a punch. This drink will use up both your rum and inhibitions. Exactly what a Hurricane is supposed to do.
Tumblr media
Mix #139 When the Levee Breaks
1.5oz Barbarcourt 8yr rum 1.5oz multi island white rum blend 1/2oz overproof Jamaican rum 1.5 oz fassionola red 3/4oz falernum 1oz lemon juice 1oz orange juice 4 dashes bitters
Shake with ice and pour into hurricane glass. Float 1/2oz of Fernet Branca on top.
This is a Brian Maxwell creation, his riff on the traditional Hurricane. Call it a grown ups' Hurricane. It's not as sweet and you can actually taste the rum and some spice. It'll smash you up just as bad as the classic Hurricane, but you'll feel classier drinking it. I left out the Fernet because it doesn't agree with me,but this was definitely an upgrade over the classic tourist drink.
Tumblr media
Mix #140 Tangipahoa Planter's Punch
2oz aged Virgin Islands rum 3/4oz lime juice 3/4oz orange juice 3/4oz pineapple juice 1/2oz grenadine
Shake with ice and pour into zombie glass.
This is a classic drink from the '30's,modernized by Brian Maxwell to sweeten it up a bit. A very nice drink with a nice sweet/tart balance.
The original Tangipahoa Planter's Punch came from a recipe published in the 1937 book,Famous New Orleans Drinks and How to Mix'Em. I was actually able to track down a pdf of this volume on the web,and in there found a drink named for a pirate which crosses over into Tiki territory. Here's my modernized version:
Tumblr media
Mix #141 Jean Laffite Cocktail
1.5oz dark rum 1/4oz orange curacao 1/4oz Demerara syrup 2 dashes absinthe 1 egg yolk*
Shake well with plenty of ice and strain into chilled cocktail glass.
*I used egg substitute.
Jean Lafitte was an infamous pirate who operated out of New Orleans. In his honor I used Smith & Cross,a proper pirate rum. It's similar to a traditional sailor grog, with the other ingredients serving to take the edge off the rum. A bit harsh for my taste, but give it a try if you like your drinks to be liquor forward. By the way,the cocktail actually has the correct spelling of his name, the one F two T version is the misspelling that was used in English language documents at the time, and is used for places that are named after him. Another fun fact, the original recipe called for "absinthe substitute". This was because at the time absinthe was illegal. Fortunately it's available now, since it features in many Tiki drinks.
So put on some Dirty Dozen Brass Band, catch some beads, and let the good times roll!

A male judge just awarded custody of a teenage girl to the rapist who attacked her mother when she was the same age as the girl is now.
A watchdog group in Louisiana has asked outside authorities to investigate a recent ruling by a judge that granted an accused rapist full custody of the daughter his accuser — who became pregnant when she was 16 and the father was 30 — birthed nine months later.
Court records obtained by PEOPLE confirm that Judge Jeffrey Cashe also ordered Crysta Abelseth, 32, to make monthly child support payments to John Barnes, the man she alleges raped her in late 2005.
Cashe awarded Barnes, 46, full custody of the girl on March 21, 2022, despite allegations made by a child that Barnes had been sexually, physically and verbally abusive. Those allegations were first brought to the state's Department of Children and Family Services by a school counselor. Barnes has not been charged with a crime in connection with those allegations.
"I just want my daughter home safe and my perpetrator out of our lives for good," Abelseth tells PEOPLE. "My quality of life has suffered tremendously and it has bankrupted me financially. It is my faith in God that has kept me strong for my daughter because this is truly more than anyone should ever have to endure."
The court documents, which were viewed by PEOPLE, include DNA test results, which confirm that Barnes is the biological father of Abelseth's daughter. Abelseth got pregnant when she was 16 and Barnes was 30, which means the encounter, even if consensual, would have amounted to statutory rape. In Louisiana in 2005, the age of consent was 17, as it is today.
According to WBRZ, the Metropolitan Crime Commission, a corruption watchdog group, has asked that an outside agency investigate the ruling.
Sean Cassidy, an attorney for the non-profit Louisiana Foundation Against Sexual Assault, tells PEOPLE he finds Cashe's decision "awfully baffling," given the allegations. "I don't know how something like this happens," Cassidy says.
WBRZ reports that Barnes owns a web company called Gumbeaux Digital Branding that counts the Ponchatoula Police as a client. (Abelseth alleges Barnes raped her in Ponchatoula.)
"I have seen some bad decisions. I've seen some indifference by law enforcement. I've seen what looks like bias from some judges," Cassidy continues. "But I have never seen the father of a child born out of a rape not only be awarded custody and some sort of payment, but also, that person even seeking custody. It is not something you see."
We 'Absolutely Dropped the Ball,' Police Admit
In 2015, Abelseth filed a complaint with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office against Barnes, alleging he'd raped her on Dec. 13, 2005, after they'd both been drinking at a bar in Hammond, where Abelseth said she got in with a fake ID.
Abelseth told investigators Barnes had offered her a ride home. Instead, she said, he took her to his place in Ponchatoula. "I had woken up on the bathroom floor nude," Abelseth wrote in her statement, saying she was unable to give consent as she was unconscious during the encounter. Abelseth further alleges in her written statement Barnes had threatened to seek full custody of the girl, should she ever pursue criminal charges against him.
Barnes has never been charged with a crime.
Abelseth's 2015 complaint wasn't assigned to a detective until this year, the court records show. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office in a statement acknowledged they did not properly investigate that allegation and said the case was turned over to prosecutors on Wednesday.
"In tracing this case back to the time the initial complaint was filed on July 1, 2015, it was discovered that the report never made it through the proper channels within the department to be assigned for investigation," reads the statement. "Therefore, our department absolutely dropped the ball, and we simply must own our mistake. This is a mistake, however, that simply has never been a problem before or since, and we must make sure to keep it that way."
Abelseth alleges in the filings that she didn't report the alleged rape for years because she thought victims had only 24 hours to go to the police after such crimes occurred. She ended up reporting the rape after learning the statute of limitations for rape was 30 years after the victim turns 18.
Custody Battle Began After Barnes Learned He Had Child
The custody battle began in 2011, after the girl turned 5, and Barnes learned he might have a child; Abelseth tells PEOPLE she has no idea how he discovered the daughter's existence. Barnes took Abelseth to court, and once paternity was established, Barnes sought and was awarded shared custody of the child, despite their ages at the time Abelseth became pregnant.
"I was under the impression I had no choice to let him be involved in my child's life," Abelseth tells PEOPLE. "He was threatening me. My attorney at the time knew he raped me and she didn't advise me of my rights."
According to documents obtained by PEOPLE, Barnes started paying $428 a month in support for the child in April 2013.
Judge Cashe took over the case in August 2015 — a month after Abelseth reported the rape to police, and several months after Barnes asked the court to find her in contempt for allegedly violating some of the terms of their custody agreement.
Six months later, a split-custody agreement was reached, and Abelseth was ordered to pay $78.41 to Barnes each month. That sum increased to $117.72 per month in 2017.
Abelseth requested that Barnes' custody be limited, but Cashe denied that motion. Months later, Barnes began filing motions seeking to have Abelseth held in contempt after giving the daughter a cell phone; in a previous decision, Cashe barred the girl from owning a phone.
On Feb. 2, 2022, Cashe found Abelseth in contempt over the phone, and she was ordered to pay $500. He again told the mother not to get the girl a phone.

In a March 18, 2022, hearing before Cashe, a child's abuse accusations against Barnes were brought up, and Abelseth asked for full custody. But Cashe said criminal charges were never pursued against Barnes and that the evidence failed to support allegations he had abused a child.
Days later, Barnes filed for full custody, claiming Abelseth provided their daughter with a second phone. Cashe granted the request the same day. Abelseth tells PEOPLE the allegations made by Barnes she provided her daughter with a cell phone were "false."
Cashe did not respond to PEOPLE's repeated requests for comment. But on Wednesday, he filed a Reasons for Judgement, a document explaining his decisions in the case. In it, he says the allegations Barnes abused a child were only put forward by Abelseth after Barnes had asked to have her held in contempt.
Custody Trial Scheduled for July 15
Cassidy tells PEOPLE the judge should have realized the 2005 sexual encounter between Barnes and Ableson — consensual or not — amounted to statutory rape. He notes that state law bars men from having contact with any child that is the product of rape.
Barnes did not respond to requests for comment at press time. Neither did the Tangipahoa Parish District Attorney's Office or Gov. John Bel Edwards, who is the brother of Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel H. Edwards as well as Frank Millard Edwards, the chief of police in Independence, a town in Tangipahoa County.
The issue of the daughter's custody is set for trial on July 15, PEOPLE learns.
"This case is the ultimate example of a judicial system that has failed this rape victim and her daughter deplorably," says Stacie Triche, founder and executive director for the non-profit SAVE LIV35 Foundation, who is working with Abelseth on her case.
"I thank God for the trauma counselor who advised her of her rights to file charges against her perpetrator in 2015, because her attorney at that time failed to do so. She has been drug through the mud in this court system by her rapist for ten years. I cannot fathom how this mother was forced to not only hand her 5-year-old daughter over to the man who raped her, but also forced to pay him child support and legal fees by the same system that is supposed to protect her rights."
Adds Triche: "I pray justice is served and that child is brought home to her mother where she belongs — and the perpetrator is put behind bars where he belongs."
Abelseth tells PEOPLE she hopes her story "will encourage women going through similar situations to have hope and to not give up."

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (KLFY) — A Louisiana mother shot and killed a home intruder before dawn Sunday, authorities said.
According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, Robert Rheams, 51, was armed with a shovel and a lug wrench when he allegedly forced his way into the home of the woman and her two young children. Police arrest ‘major narcotics distributor’ in Louisiana
Chief Jimmy Travis said during the incident, a physical altercation took place between Rheams and the homeowner which led to Rheams being shot and killed.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Travis said at the time of the incident, Rheams was out on parole after serving approximately 20 years in prison for armed robbery.
He was also tied to a carjacking that happened hours prior to the home invasion, Travis said.
While it appears the homeowner was within her rights to protect herself and her children from a violent home invasion, Travis said, the case has been forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review.

im from the south and from the suburbs but close enough to the swamp so when i hear those nostalgia sounds videos, im nostalgic for like most of the sounds, but if i hear like a bunch of loud toads or something, i get weirdly nostalgic for being really really uncomfortably hot and sweaty while i tear my skin open on some asshole's unfinished backseat and i always had to do that shit the season before renaissance fair season when its hot as shit so they get pukes like you to get old, hurricane-tossed, flood preserved freezer juice all over you and it would happen again, but after the first time, you distinctly remember something about your olfactory senses being changed, like it was so scarred by Katrina-Fridge-Freezer-Meat-Slurry that your mind hit an emergency scramble switch to change on some fundamental level how we interpret and thus understand food and experience the world, or else how do you go on? how do you go on living? how do you go on, cleaning and working, with a hoodie (because i hate my body, even in extreme heat), and your pants and shirt are wet with meat and plants so old they liquified, this was tangipahoa, so mostly flooding, the fridge never actually got tossed, that was just fun to say way back when
i went that whole day working in the heat while covered in thick, thick, muddy, very very very old freezer rot juice, it wouldnt even dry, i had to sit on a tarp when we got handed over to our parents
my sister stepped on a nail one year, nothing too serious, but i think would rather the pain and the limp, id still never take that instead probably though, im way too scared of breaking the bridge of my foot, im a huge pussy in that way
but most years it was just the toads and clouds of mosquitos and hitting rocks real hard with chair legs and watching some boot camp reject try to groom one of your sisters new friends and it just goes on and on and on and on and on and on

Inosuke pov
A few months have passed and my mom is now recovering from having a baby. I've been keeping in touch with Tanjiro a lot since he took care of me when I got sick from being reckless and I've thanked him a few times over because of it. I've been trying to come up with something to make it up,for him taking care of me. Even if he said it was fine and that I didn't need to do anything as a form of apology or a thank you. I just feel like I should anyway.
So here I was coming up and planning something for Tanjiro as a thank you for taking care of me, feeding me, and going as far as letting me rest in his bed until I got better.
Should I make him something; what if he doesn't like it? I could take him somewhere, but where would we go? Restaurants feel too romantic and we were just friends. The movies might work but there isn’t really anything good out at the moment, plus I wouldn’t be able to talk too much during a movie. We could go on a walk to the nearby park… nope it's still cold outside and I feel like he would pester me on not getting sick again. Maybe we eat takeout while playing video games might be fun or maybe watch some anime.
Yeah, that could work; hanging out with my friend eating takeout, and playing some of my favorite games or watching my favorite shows. He also wouldn’t take it as me saying thank you or any kind of apology. So it would work. I just have to text him and ask him if he wants to hang out and when.
So that's what I do…
Inosuke: Hey! Tangipahoa I got a new game. Do you want to come over and play it with me.
Tanjiro: Sure! When should I come over? ^u^
Inosuke: I Don't know just whenever.
Tanjiro: okay. I'll be over in about half an hour, see you soon.
Inosuke: ok.
I cut my phone off and stared at my room, which looked like a pigsty in the making now that I was looking at it. Which needs to be fixed in the short time I have before Tanjiro gets here. I really should have cleaned up before I texted him. Sighing I look down at the mess of clothes that are…well everywhere.
I sluggishly clean up my things, throwing away empty water bottles and separating dirty clothes, and putting it in my bin. Before I could put away all the clean stuff a knock appeared downstairs.
I mutter a curse and decide to drag all my clean stuff into my closet to deal with later or possibly never again. Heading downstairs and opening the door to see Tanjiro dress casually.
“Sup” was all I could think of saying.
“Hello” Tanjiro gave me a smile and wave, I stared at him blankly; he looks like a golden retriever I thought.
“Come on” I let him in, closing the door behind him. Leading him up to my now clean room, I take a seat on the floor in front of my Tv. I looked over to Tanjiro and he was standing in the middle of my room like he had never been in here before.
“Why are you standing around like that? Sit down!” I raised an eyebrow to him. I go back to setting up the game that I have,
It's not actually a new game but I manage to never play it but he doesn't need to know that. I shrug off the thought and cut the game on. It's hard to play a multiplayer game by yourself anyway.
“You ready to play” I toss him one of my spare controllers and get off the floor to sit on the bed beside him.
“What's this game about?” he looks over to me, I might have sat a little closer than intended but oh well.
“It's a timed cooking game” I looked back at him to see that he looked rather surprised. “What” I glared at him slightly.
“Sorry that just wasn’t what I thought we would be playing” he shrugged and laughed a bit.
“What did you expect us to be playing… a dating sim? something with zombies? A dating sim with ZOmbIes?!” I blurted out the first thing I could think of while tilting my head.
“Definitely something with zombies… wait did you say, do you play dating sims?!” He questioned me and I felt my ears get hot.
“N-NO!” I internally curse myself for stuttering and look away from him.
“I mean that's cool if you do.” I could feel his eyes on my back but I'm not looking at his probably stupid-looking face and his definitely stupid expression when he’s trying to be supporting or something along those lines. My face feels hot…
“Let's just play the game…” I turned the game on and The title screen popped up.
The “overcooked” game screen, the chibi characters idle in a food truck. Connecting the controllers to the game the rules pop up. The music played loudly throughout my room.
I stare at the screen a mass of undead bread things were what we would be cooking and serving. Tanjiro’s and my character separated into parts of the area.
“I guess I got those zombies.” he joked while guttering ingredients to make food. The minute-thirty timer counted down for what felt faster than its actual set time.
“Yeah, but could you consider sentient bread as zombies.” I throw the foods he made into the conveyor belt giving him more ingredients. The timer clicked down its final seconds before the alarm went off and our time for the level was up.
Game level after level it gets harder to get things done correctly in a short time. Things were getting set on fire.
“It's on Fire!” I yelled while I was trying to serve the things that were already done. Tanjiro drops a sorry apology while putting out the fire with a small laugh.
Time ran out and we lost the level. Shit. I pause the game and look over to Tanjiiro. Looking at my window, the sun was setting which means we had been playing for a few hours.
“You know I’m starting to feel glad that Kotoha-San doesn’t let you cook,” Tajiro said beside me, a playful smirk on his face.
“Yea w-well at least I don’t underseason my food!” I said my face flushed with color. What the hell is wrong with me today? Why did I stutter?
“I’m sorry if I underseasoned my food and were not allowed to add any seasonings to the food at the hospital!” Tanjiro cried out. I knew I was right though. In the past four months, Tanjiro has interned at a hospital specializing for the elderly; I had stopped by once or twice to eat lunch with the Maroon-haired boy and he could attest to the quality of the food, it was very underseasoned.
“If getting old means my food can’t have any spice or umami then I'm fine with dying young.”
Tanjiro simply laughed at the statement, feelings fluttering around nervously in my stomach. I stared at Tanjiro holding his stomach as laughter rippled through him; his earrings jangled softly and his boyish laugh filled the room. So… pretty. Wait- fuck… guys don’t usually think of eachother as pretty.
But isn’t that just toxic masculinity?
My mind raced and I quickly caught eyes with Tanjiro, he was giving me a slightly confused and amused stare. I cleared my throat and looked away to hide the embarrassment on my face.
Arhgg! What the hell was wrong with me today! I’m confused…but I place the thought in the back of my mind to think about later or probably never.
“Your face is pretty red, you okay Inosuke?”
“WhaT? I’m fine Tapioka!” My voice cracked a little.
“I guess the hot weather is getting you then huh?”
“Yeah I guess so…” I clear my throat.
“So what do you want to do now.?” He looked over at me.
“I don't know… wanna watch a movie. I also have netflix if you want to watch something on there.” I look down at the small shelf of movies I have.
“Oh what about this, I used to watch this with my little sisters all the time!” Tanjiro said, holding up a copy of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella.
We started to watch the movie and I spent the first half of it nodding my head to the beat of songs or just outright singing them. I was keeping it tame for most of the songs and other parts of the movie until one of my favorite songs started, the prince is giving a ball.
I looked over at Tanjiro and he seemed slightly surprised by my theatrics. I closed my eyes for a moment, singing with a dramatic tone and my hands extended as I half shouted the words.
Tanjio soon joined in on the singing once the duo was really starting to get closer to its peak. Somehow we had inched closer to each other, leaning on each other's shoulders as we sang the last parts of the song together. After the song ended we paused for a moment, still against each other as the movie continued to play. I quickly shuffle back a few steps back with a small but manly chuckle.
It was a bit awkward by the end of the movie, with an odd tension in the air as Tanjiro made his way home. I lead him down the stairs but I pause before opening the door.
“Hold on a second, tangerine!”
Tanjiro turned around, his eyes wide with expectancy, ready for whatever I was going to say.
“Um, I have a showcase coming up, so you should come… lemon head too I guess. I’m telling you two months in advance so you better be there.” I kind of mumbled the words a bit but he still understood what I was trying to say.
“Of course I’ll be there, Inosuke,” he said, giving me the same dopey smile he always does. There was that odd twinge in my stomach again but I quickly brushed it off as potential upset bowls.
“Hah- whatever just go, you have class in the morning right so you need to leave so you don’t miss the train,” I said, nearly pushing him out the door.
“Wow Inosuke I didn’t know you cared so much,” His eyes closed as he smiled.
“Pffp as if I just don’t want you stuck here.” I rolled my shoulders back as I spoke in a chill yet joking tone, well I at least hoped he knew I was joking.
“Yeah okay Inosuke goodbye.” he smiled and opened my front door.

Former Louisiana teacher who allegedly gave birth to student’s baby faces rape, other charges: authorities
Tumblr media
Former Louisiana Teacher Arrested for Alleged Student Pregnancy A former teacher from Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, found herself in handcuffs on Tuesday. The reason? She's accused of giving birth to a student's child. Yep, you read that right. Morgan Freche, 33 years old, hailing from Loranger, turned herself in to the detectives. This came after they dug into allegations of sexual misconduct with a minor, resulting in multiple arrest warrants with her name on them. She's now looking at some serious charges, including one count of third-degree rape, one count of oral sexual battery, and four counts of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile. Serious stuff. These allegations date back about two years, but they only recently surfaced. On September 24th, detectives learned that a 17-year-old boy had fathered a child with someone working for the Tangipahoa Parish School System. Guess who? Yep, it's Ms. Freche. Once the detectives got wind of this, they got to work, investigating these claims. Sheriff Daniel Edwards stated, "This type of investigation is time-consuming and is being handled with great care. Under no circumstances will we be rushed for closure." They take this stuff seriously. The school system's superintendent, Melissa Stilley, also chimed in, saying, "Neither the Board nor this office will tolerate employee behavior which crosses the line in areas such as the proper professional relationships between educators and their students." She's made it clear; they're cooperating with the law enforcement investigation. So, it looks like Ms. Freche's teaching days are over, and she's facing some hefty charges. This is a reminder that actions have consequences, especially when it involves students. Read the full article
