Omg, this is funny
So there’s this new horror movie called tarot, and I figured it wouldn’t be very good anyways, but it’s just so funny how it portrays tarot.
Like it’s seen as this “dark” and “satanic ritual”, but in reality tarot is just a really old card game that goes “you might be stressed, maybe you should take a break” or “something good might be coming your way! You miss every shot you don’t take!”
And like they have the cards laid out in a circle with one in the centre being the main card, something I have literally never seen before in a reading, and the card they draw doesn’t foreshadow any specific fate but what monster they’re gonna get 🤣🤣 like “oooo you got the high preistess, you’re gonna get killed by a scary Preist!!”
It’s just so obvious the people don’t know how tarot is used by people at all, and just scribbled scary imagery on the cards and have chanting children in the background lmao

Community does not need this!! But they’re loud in the comments about how harmful this could be for the community and divination and other spiritual practices and traditions! Thankfully!! I was just talking about spiritual psychosis on my close friends on Instagram yesterday and then I see things like this and post just went viral of some woman absolutely losing it, snot running out her nose and everything over the eclipse.
The fear mongering and demonization of spiritual teachings, astrology, tarot and spiritual practices and traditions is about to start becoming very big. It was already a really prominent thing oppressors have used for ages especially against poc who practice forms of witchcraft or deity worship they brought with them from home. I was just watching a docu-series yesterday that highlighted how the native population on mt. Shasta were forced to leave and practiced ritual and held ceremonies in the caves of mount Shasta and those who colonized would go into those caves after they left and preform mockeries of their ceremonies and rituals as entertainment.
We’re about to step into a reality and time where spiritual people, practitioners and others within the community will be replacing celebrities and individuals of high rank or people who hold a lot of power in this world and I said before that the oppressor has a very specific recipe for oppression and trying to keep people (especially in the west) as unaware and as stuck in perpetual karmic cycles and systems as much as possible. And this is just yet another technique they use to discredit individuals with gifts. They use psychics and astrologers and others themselves to help them predict and interpret what’s coming.
They use these types of stories or ideas to fuel radical religious beliefs and ideas that are built upon fear mongering and hatred, they use religious institutions and manipulated versions of their Bible and beliefs and create division within the west. Vast majority of republicans are statistically uneducated and are conservative who hold onto heavy religious beliefs and views to back up, support and justify their actions and beliefs. Heavily similar to antebellum America and the justification of slavery and the mistreatment of African American people.

To add onto that, this movie about tarot does not accurately portray what tarot really is and how it works whatsoever but guess who’ll believe it and perpetuate it. Half the negative ideas that are swirling around about metaphysical, Wiccan or spiritual practices are due to pop culture and horror movies and the individuals who sit at their desks in the dark scribbling away these plots and releasing these movies.

I don't know how I'm supposed to feel about this Tarot horror movie that's coming out. The scary images on non-scary cards and the lingering on the Death card (oh god they're doing that trope AGAIN) is giving me weird ass Satanic Panic vibes, like oh well, we're doing this again.

OK, I know nothing about tarot card readings. I'm not a witch, or anything like that.
But I do know about their lore purely because of my interest in Persona, which uses the major arcana cards to symbolize character arcs and classify Persona. I thought these were neat, so I looked into them, and I thought they were cool.
Why am I talking about this? Because the announcement of the new Tarot movie made me mad because that's not what the cards mean.
No the Magician isn't some weird Trickster diety that kills you, it's a card that represents having ambition and taking action.
No the Hermit isn't some weird guy who leads you down the wrong path, it's a card that represents knowledge, as well as isolation.
NO, DEATH DOESNT ACTUALLY MEAN YOU DIE. IT REPRESENTS ENDINGS AND MOVING ON. GOD THAT TROPE SUCKS-
And what's worse is that the cards already have meanings, some of them more negative, and if they had actually put any thought into them, this movie could possibly be interesting, not like it will he. Not like they care.
I wonder why a movie that acts like cards that sort of give you advice and that were made by non-Christian people are secretly this dark evil ritual. It's almost as if their demonizing other religions for the sole purpose of making stupid horror content.

If you're wondering if the Tarot movie is any good, the first person who gets their reading is a Libra and the reader says that the card they're associated with is The High Priestess.
I'm sorry, but as a Libra myself this is WRONG! 😭
Libra is associated with the Justice card and is an air sign. (Notice the scale and the sword)
Tumblr media
The High Priestess is actually associated with Cancer and is a water sign. (Notice the giant moon on the card.)
Tumblr media
I know it's a stupid horror movie, but if you're a tarot reader, you're going to be very annoyed lol

I can’t be the only one minorly upset about the new Tarot movie right? Like as much as I LOVE horror I definitely know people are going to be clutching their pearls after seeing it and are going to be afraid of actual tarot cards. I wish they’d do a biiiit more research before making a movie like that but meh.
