What do you want? I mean, what do you REALLY want for your life, your career, your relationships, and your wellbeing? So many of us are unclear on the specifics of what we REALLY want. Sure we all want more time, more money, better relationships and to be healthier. But that answer is TOO VAGUE. If you don’t have a highly specific goal, it’s like practicing archery without aiming. How likely are you to hit a bullseye on a target if you’re aimlessly shooting anywhere in an open field? Then there’s the “I don’t deserve that” obstacle. Maybe want you really want is a house with a big back yard, but then decide no house will ever be in your price range. Then the procrastination, “it’s just so much work,” or “I don’t have time for that” excuses come up. You want to lose weight, but don’t commit to exercise. How do you overcome this to get what you really want? 1) The first step is always acknowledgement. Fess up! Own what’s holding you back. Call yourself on it. 24/7 I'm a mother, a carer and a wife . 8hrs a day, 5 days a week I'm an Early Childhood Educator . It's a proffession I'm so passionate about and this year I've been given the opportunity to lead the nursery room to care and program for 0-2yo. I thought I'd share a hack for any mamas wanting to create a sensory area which i made for the babies in my care . I wanted the sensory resources to be portable as I couldn't have permanent fixtures on walls and I wanted to take it with me to what ever room i get placed in future. It took me some time to think of how, but eventually I did! . . The wall: The main materials used were @ikea_australia cork pot stand and @command picture hanging strips and a hot glue gun. The strips on the cork stand are hot glue gunned on, super glue did not withstand my babies 😅 I glued a variety of visually aesthetic items with different textures, all found in the dollar store. This has been ripped off the wall numerous times and is still in one piece! I'm looking to add 3 more cork boards since it's such a hit with my babies . The Floor: I added fake grass boards on the floor as well as a basket filled with sensory toys (liquid timers, glitter bottles and busy bags) my kids absolutely love it! All of it! Approximately 30% of teachers are considering leaving the profession right now.😓 I don’t blame them. Teachers already wear several hats, juggle multiple tasks, and never get to use the bathroom as is. Throw the curveballs of online, hybrid, and new protocol in-person learning of the past year and we’re done! Teacher burnout breaks my heart because it’s preventable. 💔 Preventable? Sounds, great! Where’s this miracle cure? It’s not a miracle. It’s a system that requires an input of time and effort to gain it back multiplied. It’s the system that I used to go from working 70 to 90 hours a week down to an average of 35 to 40 hours as a classroom teacher. It’s not a quick-fix band-aid solution like other “just do self care” or “increase your efficiency” courses promote. It’s hard work. Many teachers are already too far past the point of overwhelm to see that change can happen. Many teachers feel a complete lack of support and understanding of their situations. Most teachers want to stay in the profession, but that minority of 30% who want to leave breaks my heart. That’s why I do what I do. I’m Mrs. A. Grace Martin, the Wellness Potential Teacher.
