I handle a lot of books every day, and I have learned that cozy mystery novels (which the grandmas go NUTS over) always have some sort of cute animal or whimsical handicraft on the cover, but since they're mysteries, there's usually still some form of grisly murder involved, which gets you absolute gems like this:

Picard's teacup is a delicate, fragile little thing held by a strip of plastic and a dream. That thin glass will break if you look at it sideways. And where do they put that ridiculous tiny cup? On the Enterprise, which is always being dragged into conflict

The DS9 raktajino mugs are hefty, wide-based things that are meant to not tip over. They're called no-spill mugs. They have a foam piece on the bottom so they don't slip. They're incredibly sturdy – meant for ships and traveling! Where do they put them? At the station, which is arguably the most stable place they could be cause DS9 rarely gets knocked about.

Far as I'm concerned, Janeway's the only one doing practical space mugs correctly. Come on, a metal travel mug that's as strong as her coffee is black? Takes a beating through 70,000 light years of bridge shakes fighting off the Borg and the Hirogen and still holds a hot drink? Now that's a space mug

Dude I got mad on reddit under a thread where they were talking about why people don’t like Ky (the OP was asking to try and understand the memes). Everyone was trying to dunk on Ky, nobody was answering the question with anything but repeated memes. I got sidetracked talking about Dizzy and Ky memes…they’re deep characters I promise!! Aaaaaaaa!!!!!!!

Honest to god the worst thing that can happen to a fandom is when the memes completely overwrite the canon lore/personality of a character. They don't even know that Sol was lowkey terrified of Ky during the Crusades because of how bloodthirsty for Gear blood Ky was before meeting Dizzy and realizing that he was killing intelligent beings. Or that Ky was willing to risk everything, seriously, to protect her. I was reading your tags and on the one with Vigi and Pep (always a delight to read those) "#and pep is just a very silly and affectionate drunk hes like" + "#hes throwing out ilu to anyone who will listen" and I just had the most vivid mental image that despite this when it comes to Noise he still throws out an insult, a little bit of drink doesn't override that rivalry.

Noise wanted to bait out a ilu from Pep to tease him with later but he's just buzzed like "ilu, ilu, ilu, shove a cactus up ur bum :), ilu, ilu" kind of thing. Probably still said in a silly friendly tone but, no, Noise, you can't sneak that by Pep, nice try you little gremlin. (Keep up the stellar work btw, I love seeing your stuff pop up)

Oh absolutely. Noise is like this is PRIME blackmail material fuckin watch this shit. And it never happens 😭 theres like a specific part of peppinos brain that is allocated to recognizing the noise in vivid detail like a needle in a haystack and it overrides literally anything that would otherwise hamper his ability to both recognize and suppress the urge to throw hands w this brat. So the very most the noise can get out of him is a very satisfied and contented hum, and a half hearted swipe in the noises general space.

His hand misses and slams against the bar counter and the entire thing shakes like a bull slammed into it and the noise is like u know what! Thats good enough for me!! Ill fucking take it!!

Bonus if it completely backfires bc peppino fucking grabs him and hes like oh my god hes fucking HUGGING ME get the fucking camera ill pay anything to get this shit RIGHT NOW GET A CAMERA but the ‘hug’ is peppino grabbing onto him like a ragdolled ferret and the noise very quickly is like ‘oh i cant breathe really’, and hes just stuck like that for an hour bc peppino does not fucking yield in the slightest. hi @wrathfulgraham here – GOD your tags on my post got me thinking. will and hannibal's relationship is a teacup. it shattered on hannibal's kitchen floor. hannibal gutted will with the shards of it, and will tried to return the favor in italy. they slay the dragon and will tips them over the cliff's edge – will the teacup shatter, or will it gather itself together?

i've also seen it as a really significant moment of hannibal almost giving up his neurotic control of trying to tie the past to the present/future and to control the future. every single pivotal moment in hannibal is in hannibal's control (for the most part). but ive always interpreted the end of twotl as him giving will the reigns purposefully, fully, and completely. will stays very carefully vague and gives double entendre non-answers to hannibal in their last conversation before the dragon fight. hannibal accepts this with fond smiles and — "no greater love hath man than to lay down his life for a friend."

i feel like their relationship, the teacup, is (somewhat) whole again with the consummation that was the dragon fight. maybe will was right in digestivo, and the teacup is broken and will never gather itself back together again. maybe this is a new teacup, or they metaphorically glued it back together again, lol.

and then, as you said, will tips them over the edge, the kintsugi teacup falls, and it could shatter, or it could stay whole. for the first time, the teacup is in will's hands. he is in full control of the direction of the teacup, in control of the direction of their future, and hannibal is okay with this. because at least he has will, at least the teacup is repaired. that's all he ever wanted.

i have a friend who is a first-time pet owner and got her dog just under a year ago so still is getting the hang of things, and she keeps getting concerned over her dog doing the most basic animal behavior. not full-on takes him to the vet for everything level concerned, but still

"he ignored me :(" yeah sometimes the do that. "he was upset i was leaving this morning :(" yeah thats what animals do. "he doesn't like wearing outfits i keep buying him :(" yeah cus animals are supposed to be naked. "he likes my grandma more than me :(" yeah cus she stays home with him all day.

like, im glad she's concerned about her dog as opposed to being the type to brush everything off even if it is potentially worrying, but cmon.
