Yeeeaaah finally finished Scout in MH !!!

Soooo ! I gave him a Great jaggi armor and a Kulu ya ku insect glaive (bird up!)

Lore time ! : In this universe Scout is a young hunter going into the new world with the last fleet. He uses an insect glaive and he loves his kinsect, even if sometimes he's a little ruff with it.

He's from a little village not far from Verudo where everyone needs to know how to defend themselves. All his brothers are hunters and that is why he chooses to go to the new world. He wants a place where he can be a hunter and doesn't constantly compare himself to his brothers.

I have a very love/hate relationship with Monster Hunter Stories 2. I think it’s a good game but as a sequel to the first game it kind of fails to improve upon most of the original game’s faults and even backtracks on one of its coolest and most useful features. This is all stuff I may go into another time; but right now I just want to talk about what the hell were they on when deciding what attack preference some of these Monsties were going to be.

For those unaware of how MHS2 combat works, essentially it boils down to a rock paper scissors with Power, Technical and Speed attacks. There are elements, weapon types, and other stuff; but the most important loop and most crucial part of team building is this Power>Technical>Speed dynamic.

So why on earth is the balance of these 3 so all over the place and why do some monsties have an attack preference that makes way less sense than other preferences???

First of all there is an insane imbalance in speed monsties the entire game. With the system the way it is, there shouldn’t be an entire 3rd of the triangle that is a rare find, and yet for the early stages of the game most speed monsties are hard to come by or locked behind chapter ending boss fights before they can be obtained. Sure, your very first monstie is a speed monstie; but after that you cannot get another until Nargacuga. Yes, Nargacuga is strong, it’s popular and it’s a guaranteed egg; but if you didn’t accidentally stumble upon this nest before you’re intended to it’s placed pretty late into the second chapter of the game, just to get your second speed monstie. After that most speed monsties are just…bad. Like most of them are weak raptors and the rest are again either hidden away or very late game if not postgame monsties with few exceptions. In their place are a biggilion technical and power monsties of which a large portion could have been speed monsties.

But anyways, let’s talk specifics

-Great Jaggi is a technical monstie; but Great Baggi is speed??? I get they both use packs but you’d think the one with an actual status and a status based on strategy would make more sense as technical; and making Jaggi speed would give an actual option for a speed monstie between Velocidrome and Nargacuga.

-Yian Garuga is a technical Monstie??? The psychopathic, uses itself as a weapon, will rush down its foes with reckless abandon Yian Garuga is a technical monstie?!?!?!? And given at a point where you’re still short on power monsties and begging for speed!

-Rathian is a speed monstie?? You can’t get it until after completing the second chapter of the game, later than Nargacuga, and they finally give you a third speed option and it’s Rathian?? I get that she charges but she has never been fast, she’s always been slower than Rathalos. I don’t even know what would make more sense than speed if they wanted to make her different from Rathalos but considering some of the things that aren’t speed this one just feels wrong.

-Monoblos is power. Again considering the dearth of speed either the Diablos or Monoblos pair really should’ve been speed to separate the two groups from each other more, and seeing as both are known for rapid rushdowns its crazy the only one among any of them that got to be speed was Bloodbath Diablos.

-GYPCEROS is POWER?!? It’s whole thing is tricks and being tricky why the FUCK isn’t it technical!!?!

-Barroth is Speed…but Jade Barroth isn’t?? I get that they sometimes make the subspecies have different preferences to set them apart but you’re still killing for speed monsties by this point in the game (and I wanted to use Jade Barroth at that point, too D: )

-NONE of the fated four are speed, except soulseer but those are their deviant forms. Gammoth and Glavenus I get, but surely Mizutsune OR Astalos could’ve been speed instead of technical? The psychopath dragonfly wyvern who darts around and crashes into things or the bubbly, slippery kitsune leviathan?

-Uragaan, a Monster who rolls around to evade and attack and which lays traps with its powder stones is a power monstie. This one isn’t as egregious, Uragaan is massive and powerful; but I feel technical could’ve worked well too

-SEREGIOS. A MONSTER KNOWN FOR ITS INSANELY ACROBATIC FLYING AND AGILITY, WHOSE FIGHTING STYLE IS MOSTLY F A S T, AGRESSIVE ATTACKS, LITERALLY THE FASTEST MOVING AERIAL MONSTER IN THE SERIES THAT ISN’T AN ELDER DRAGON IS FUCKING TECHNICAL. ARE YOU FUCKING SHITTING ME.

-IT’S OKAY THOUGH, BECAUSE B A Z E L G E U S E IS A SPEED MONSTIE. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT. THE SLOWEST OF THE THREE ELDER-TIER INVADER MONSTERS IS S P E E D!?! Why not technical??!? It’s whole thing is laying traps with its explosive scales and ambushing from above! I get why they didn’t go power because the other 2 members of the invader elder-tier trio are already power monsties, but fucking speed? Oh yeah, this monster really needed to be speed because this thing only available at the literal end of the main story really solved the drought of speed monsties in the rest of the game, fucking brilliant. Hell, why not make each member of this trio a different attack type? Deviljho can stay power, Bazelgeuse becomes technical and Rajang can easily be speed because yeah, Rajang is strong; but it’s also lightning fast. It’s similar to Tigrex in the regard, known for its power but still makes sense as a speed monstie (which regular Tigrex is). Now, does this all really matter? YES, finding good speed monsties in the story is a pain in the ass and some of these choices legit make no sense. That, and both Speed AND Technical are heavily outnumbered. There are only 24 speed monsties in the game (29 if you count each extra version of the palamute), 27 technical monsties and 38 POWER. And while it’s less noticeable with technical due to the wide variety of monster types and power levels that have technical preference, pretty much all of the speed monsties in the game are weak, lower tier monsters or insanely strong post-game only creatures (or again, hidden away). Sure this problem therefore goes away once you’ve grinded your postgame; but god was it a frustrating story playthrough for me and I’d bet a good number of you too.

Depending on how this does I may go over my many other gripes with Stories 2 in the future but that’s enough for now.

1. How did they meet and what were their first impressions of each other?

Sabaody arc, when the Heart, Kid, and Strawhat pirates leave the auction house and they're surrounded by Marines. Killer jumps in and takes out one of them just as the man is about to attack Kenji's unknowing back; cue Kenji's eyes widening like dinner plates watching Killer land on the ground in slow motion and Killer thinking wow this guy is so dumb (affectionate) like my captain when we were young KID TF ARE YOU TOYING WITH THESE MARINES FOR WE GOTTA GO-

2. What kind of dynamic do they have with each other?

smartass x dumbass, sunshine protector x sunshine, "I'd die for you" "who said you could die??? WHO SAID YOU COULD DIE KILLER I NEED NAMES"

3. What do others think of them?

Kid is like ???????? at Killer's choice of a boyfriend, but Killer's taste is all his fault because Kenji like him in some ways (much to Kenji's horror but we'll get to that another time) and Killer is basically programmed to like that type; the other Kid Pirates, after grilling Kenji about his intentions of their beloved second-in-command, are pretty supportive of the two; Mari approved of Killer before they even got together; the other Strawhats also become fond of him, Franky and Usopp are the (joking) exception since both of them had to put up with Kenji ranting about Killer's weapons for weeks after Wano, Jimbei is the fishman Kenji goes to ask about having a crush and it’s very fluffy, then Brook, Sanji and Chopper pop in and it dissolves into teasing jabs, Robin mentions offhandedly to Nami about Kenji’s not-so-subtle attempt to ask after Killer in the day’s newspaper and Nami is iffy on whether the other pirate is good enough, but keeps those thoughts to herself until she can access Killer’s potential herself. Zoro pretends to be asleep through all this but he’s glad that Kenji doesn’t know about his fight with Killer as Kamazo (and has no plans of telling him that), and Luffy’s just glad that his crew is getting along with Jaggy’s

5. Is their joint future bright or bleak?

uhhhhhhhh... ideally yes. but it might have to change for canon events, but I do think they get a happy ending

7. Do they have a desire to protect each other?

YES. Killer is of the opinion that Kenji can't fight, and although that's objectively Not True, Kenji's combat levels are a lot lower than Killer's, so when their crews fight together, Killer tries to keep an eye on Kenji. Kenji is also fiercely protective of his Kil, so when anyone makes a snide remark about Killer's time on Wano, the poor sod has to face a very angry red ball of fluff (Kid) and a similarly furious, gun-cocking blacksmith

10. Who would win in a fight?

Killer. no diff, if they're forced to fight (which would be the only scenario either of them would raise a weapon at the other), Kenji would be out without question

12. Who is a better caregiver?

it’s a close one but Kenji. Killer is good at caring for everyone but himself, but Kenji is a firm believer of "you can't take care of anyone if you don't care for yourself" so Kenji is the deliverer of sunshine and smiles, and he's mentally okay while doing it!

15. Who has better fashion sense?

I really wanna say Kenji because he is the crew's secondary fashionista (behind Nami but before Sanji), but I believe that Killer's polka dot era is going to come back and that Killer was iconic af. so for now it's a tie

20. What's the worst thing about them teaming up?

Killer would constantly check up on Kenji, which could impact his focus and allow the opponent to get some hits that normally Killer could block. Killer's checkups and possible injuries could also affect Kenji's aim, as he might abandon logic and charge at the enemy without even loading his guns

21. What's the best thing about them teaming up?

if Killer does close range combat while Kenji takes care of mid-range, with both of them equipped with a talkie-walkie version of a transponder snail to communicate, then they could deal some serious damage to anyone facing them. other than the battlefield, they're also a pretty fire duo when it comes to making drinks (Killer watches in loving astonishment as Kenji comes up with the weirdest mixes that always turn out delicious); if both of them + Sanji are in the kitchen, the crews just know they'll be eating and drinking well

36. What is a gift one would give to the other?

Kenji would give him little metal decorations like bracelets or brooches with his mask's design integrated into the pieces. Killer would buy fun trinkets when the Victoria Punk docks on islands to show his boyfriend when they meet again

39. What's an inside joke they'd have together?

"when will Kid and Mari and Trafalgar finally kiss, I wonder?" "my sister has WAY better taste than those ruffians, Kil" "Ken, I'm one of Kid's 'ruffians'" "but you're the best ruffian to ruff, and Mari doesn't settle for anything other than the best, so she's definitely not getting with Jaggy or Tra-guy or both of them"

a ton of angst, lots of yelling, and three confessions later...

"so..." "don't. just lemme mope in peace, Kil"

Killer never lets Kenji forget this. it later becomes a joke that Kenji is actively terrible at predicting romantic relationships and he has fun making the wildest matches ever

45. If one of them was in trouble, what would the other do?

look... all I'm saying is if a guy named "Massacre Soldier" Killer has a boyfriend who apparently once used a person's blood to make his bullets, I would think twice before trying to hurt either one of them. rip(ieces) to those who do otherwise but I value my life

48. If they swapped bodies, how would they handle it?

first, Kenji would claim this as the reason why Mari should leave Law (Mari's typical poker face nearly breaks at the sight of big beefy Killer waving his arms around in typical Kenji fashion); then he'd get Killer to teach him how to use his Punishers, which leads to Killer strapping the blades to Kenji's body to prevent Kenji from hurting himself, which leads to a pouting Kenji, which leads to Killer petting his own head (wow Ken wasn't lying his hair really feels nice in these hands), which leads to Midlaw & co stifling their snorts at the sight of a (compared to Killer) smol twig of a guy stroking back the hair of someone twice his size that practically has a raincloud over his head. let's just say that after this, Law had to endure quite a few dirty glances and passive aggressive remarks from his brother-in-law for a while

Monster Hunter Stories concept:

Ok so I never write anything down on this site but I wanted to jot an idea I had for the (superior) mh stories series.

Since the concept of befriending monsters is such a recent game spinoff, (don't know how "new" it is in the monster hunter universe) but it would be so cool if you could revisit old game locations with monsties as a way to breathe new life into the next mh stories game and also appeasing old fans.

I've got a few examples from the old games (at least ones that I myself have played, feel free to drop your own ideas in if you've played any others, that'd be really cool) but imagine revisiting Moga Village from mh3u and introducing the scared, mistrustful folk of Moga to your Lagiacrus monstie, teaching people not to fear monsters but to respect them and that they can be befriended as helpful companions.

Another example is to revisit old characters that you could breathe new life into by pairing their characters with suiting monsties. Such as the mh4u quest maiden with Brachydios, as OGs will remember her having a special quest where she admired Brachy.... "Admired".

Like even if it seems weird because it "feels" like such a long time ago, since it's an older game, they could just fix this with the introduced rider being their child/grandchild. They've done a similar thing in mh Rise with the Sunbreak smithy being an ode to the mh4u Smith girl you have with your caravan team.

Another NPC/monstie duo I thought would be cool would be Julius (Ace Commander from Mh4u) with Kushala Daora, since his Master had to retire due to an attack from one, it could have such enemies-to-friends character ark potential!

Anyway, other than the potential for unearthing old locations and characters for older MH fans, there's potential for new game mechanics, story concepts and side quests by letting other people in the MH universe be taught/discover monstie bonding/riders, rather than keeping it exclusive to one tiny tribe in the middle of no where. You could have villages, towns and cities coexisting with monsties in order to help them in their lives and with their occupations, examples:

Royal ludroth coast guard

Lagiacrus with a fishing company

Mizutsune soap shop

Glavenus sushi bar

Basarios/Gravios helping a mining company

Kulu chicken farm??

Pukei insect exterminator

Great Jaggi (or any dog wyvern ig) school tour guide (and the kids could be on jaggias dude that would be so cute)

Qurupeco for finding endangered species using their calls

Zamtrios/jade barroth/gammoth for travelling in and clearing snow on roads and the like

Diablos/uragaan for bulldozing or agriculture

Generally loads more ideas, any of the flying monsters could be used from things like search and rescue to postal service. I guess anything you can think of that we do with animals you could incorporate into the stories universe with monsties. This includes all the bad stuff too! Like animal pitting, or breeding for rare colours/traits at the expense of health, or weaponising for war n selfish ideals, which I know has already been done in the first Stories but yeah.

Anyway those are my thoughts, I might draw these concepts, might not. Let me know if there are any monster hunter fans that have any thoughts, that'd be cool :)

Round 2 Chase

Rider: * Oh by the Elders why me again*

Rider and Almudron are trying to make there escape from Hoshina who had their game face on for this chase

Hoshina: I give will credit for that trick, pretty clever however it won't work again.

The Vice Captains speed was insane, the only thing keeping the Rider and Almudron from getting pinned down where the mud walls Almudron kept building. It gained the pair percious seconds from Hoshina's sight. Losing him wouldn't be easy but creativity is a Riders/Hunters greatest tool and right know Rider was brainstorming up ideas.

Rider: * Thoughts* Ok were currently in a more mountainess part of the woods, Almudron could burrow to make our escape, however Hoshina could follows us, he definitely has good enough senses to get our general direction and we can't get back to Reno's place without drawing him there. Attacking him is strictly out of the question, so what do I do?!?!?!

It was then another curveball was thrown at the duo, literally. As Hoshina had vailted himself to their side for a beeter angle to toss a flash gernade. This stunned the duo and would have gotten Rider tackled off of Almudron if not for the fact that the mud serpents burrowing speed was as fast lighting. Almudron using their whiskers in lue of sight to guide the duo a bit away from Hoshina for the stun gernade to wear off.

Rider: * Thoughts* JUMPIN' JAGGI THAT STUNG. Gaaahhh he's beyond determined to catch us, I got to lose him asap but how?!?!?

It was then the answer hit him right in the face, again literally.

Mud... wait a minute, Rider at that moment felt a strong urge to facepalm, they did have a surefire way to escape. It was at this moment Almudron resurfaced, the Flash gernade wearing off of the duo.

Rider: Almudron I got an surefire idea.

Hoshina could tell he was wearing down the duo, the kid's Kaiju in a desperate attempt to get away had started going in circles, bring mud wall after mud wall to try and slow Hoshina down. A tatic that would work normally as the mud walls were surprisingly sturdy and required a bit more force to cleanly carve through, this would definitely slow down the average Trooper.

However Hoshina was anything but average

Hoshina: Almost there

This was it the Kaiju's third circle and he was gaining ground on them. They had just entered into a more rocky plain of the mountainess area. Now was his chance they where going through the plain again, and the Kaiju had just lept back onto the surface.

A straightway was his best arena and they had made a crucial mistake of not staying underground in this plain.

Now was his chance, speeding up to blinding speeds he was getting closer and closer

* Splashhh*

The ground suddenly gave way beneath Hoshina

Hoshina: WHAT!?!?!

His legs sank into a strange substance the ground had morphed into and was now stuck, he tried pulling himself up but only found he was firmly rooted in place.

Hoshina: Gaaahhh what is this stu- wait IS THIS MUD?!?!?

Hoshina had fallen into a mud pit, and it had no intention of letting him go. Activating more of his suit combat power to get out is when he discovered another thing about the mud pit it was incredibly sticky and had a golden hue to it.

Rider: SORRY ABOUT THAT AND DON'T WORRY JUST WAIT FOR THE MUD TO DRY UP IN ABOUT IN HOUR.

Came the rapidly disappearing voice of the Rider as the duo made there grand escape.

Hoshina:..... Okonogi come in

Okonogi: Vice-Captain Hoshina!!! Are you ok, your suit began rising in power, I thought a Honju had showed up and a scanners mis-

Hoshina: Everythings fine, however can you please send some Troops to my location along with a research team.

Okonogi: O....ok...is everything really ok

Hoshina: I'll tell you when I get back ( and cleaned)

Rider: 2- 0 :Hoshina

( And don't worry Rider had Almudron cut back the acidity to just make the mucus sticky)

LMFAO Hoshina getting the unfortunate mud bath. I bet it was really easy to find the Vice Captain from all the mud Almudron left behind. They are probably making theories on who or what the hell Rider is under that armor.

Also that flash bang is definitely asking for very stinky retaliation in the next chase like Congala flavored Dung Bomb. Hoshina has a tendency to not wear his gas mask during a mission so that will bite him back if Rider decides to be super petty.

48 - Decisive Battle! The Quarter-Finals! -> (Free vs. Shu. vs. Lui vs. Boa [IBC: Quarter-Final -> Free (6) = Shu (6) > Lui (5) > Boa (2)]**) -> {Lúinor debuts, Boa tells Valt that Theodore is Ashtem and that the tournament was made to perfect Spryzen Requiem in order to eventually sell it and Shu off as a living weapon to a mysterious partner from a bey club called Inferno (its Arthur Peregrine [OOC: this is foreshadowing]), Boa reminisces about how he made it past being an ordinary Snake Pit background member to one of the world's best through sheer willpower, Lúinor ringing out Fafnir in the first round of the 3-round battle causes Lui to start becoming overconfident, Boa/Balkesh manage the previously unthinkable to burst Spryzen in the first round, Free remembers his previous defeat to Lui which made him decide to take training seriously again, Free uses his full power for the first time but begins to show signs of pushing himself too hard, Free creates a new move called Nothing Break, Free gets his revenge on Lui and reclaims his title of world's best blader, Spryzen shatters Lúinor, Spryzen takes revenge on behalf of Shu for all those times Lui wiped the floor with him including when he gave Shu his eye scar, Lui is left all but humbled by the battle's end and especially by his loss to a Spryzen-possessed Shu, Free/Shu qualify for the semi-finals, Lui meets Lúinor for the first time though Lúinor is bisected, Lui discovers how fun battling an opponent on his level is, Lúinor shares one of Lui's iconic laughs before finally dying, Lui tells Lúinor that he's proud of it for how bravely and hard it fought, Shu insults Lui's skill ticking him off and prompting him to swear to give Shu the beating Lui believes he deserves}

49 - The Fierce Four! Battle of Destiny! -> (Norman defeats Shu [Flashback], Lui loses to Tess [Flashback], Valt loses to Kurt [Flashback], Kurt vs. Norman vs. Tess vs. Valt [IBC: Quarter-Final -> Valt (5) > Kurt (4) > Norman (3) = Tess (3)]***) -> {Kurt rallies his followers to support his charge to prove that he is still the greatest blader, Tess saves Norman from Theodore's wrath, Norman ponders why Tess/Valt get under his skin so much, the mental shells of Kurt/Tess both begin to crack after the first round, Kurt uses his full power for the first time during the second round, Kurt throws Valtryek's performance tip to Valt instead of trying to crush it signalling a moral change for the better after the second round, Kurt declares that Valt has earned his full attention and respect as the former world champion, seeing even the formerly stone-cold Kurt develop a soft spot for Valt makes Tess seriously rethink her stance on him, Tess realises Valt is a genuine friend to Shu and the others during the third round and accepts that she isn't always right, Valtryek reaches its ultimate potential against Orichalcum in the third round, Valt and Tess reconcile with Tess telling Valt that he's the only one who can help Shu save himself, Norman remembers when Boa left Snake Pit and resolves to do the same, Tess leaves Raging Bulls, Valt/Kurt qualify for the semi-finals, Kurt tells Valt/Tess that they and any current/future friends are welcome in his underground base at any time, Free handpicks Valt to be his semi-final opponent}

50 - Breaking Point! Bursting Through! -> (Shu defeats Kurt [IBC: Semi-Final]) -> {Khalzar debuts, Raul tells Sol that Kurt is likely the best blader in terms of sheer power at this point, Shu is forced to resort to strategy to overcome Kurt, Kurt meets Khalzar for the first time, Spryzen fails to shatter Khalzar which Kurt happily mocks him for, Kurt fully commits to changing his ways and re-entering the blading world}

51 - One's Own Path! Fafnir vs. Valtryek! -> (Free loses to Valt by default [IBC: Semi-Final -> Score at time of forfeit: DFA 2-2 SVA], Valt vs. Shu continued [IBC: Final]) -> {Fafnir debuts, Gabe/Naoki/Jin/Orochi/Akira/Ben/Hoji make their Evolution debut, Free meets Fafnir for the first time, Free is convinced by Kristina to forfeit with over-exertion injuries and has to be carried off on a stretcher, Free thanks Valt while on the stretcher for pushing him to use his full power and admits that he now sees blading as fun, Beigoma Academy and Valt's family arrive to cheer him on and help him train, Free realises his teammates genuinely care about him as if he were a family member, Free apologises to Sol for pushing himself too hard and entrusts Valt with defeating Shu, Theodore finds out that Spryzen has completely possessed Shu's body and is exuberant that the Requiem Project has gone better than he ever hoped}

52 - Enter The Final! A Champion Is Crowned! -> (Valt defeats Shu [IBC: Final], Valt defeats Shu [Flashback], Lui defeats Shu [Flashback], Shu defeats Norman) -> {Fubuki debuts, all the IBC/Beigoma bladers and Valt's mother/siblings come to watch the final, Valt meets Spryzen, Valt realises mid-battle that Spryzen has possessed Shu, Valt wins the International Bladers Cup and becomes the new world champion, Shu briefly takes back control of his body/mind and finally admits that he would never be able to forgive himself if he ever lost to Valt, Shu takes the chance Valt gave him and frees himself from Spryzen's possession, Shu leaves Snake Pit, Valt/Shu become friends again, Shu finds out that Norman was Gold Eye, Norman requests a rematch with Shu to see what he is truly like now that both are out of the Snake Pit, Theodore admits defeat and revokes his plans but warns Kristina that he will return, Shu becomes Fubuki's mentor, Valt's time as main protagonist ends}

Note: 5 of my OCs in chronological order of meeting C.J.S. after his 'being able to be himself' revelation over the course of a few months - the stoic bodyguard-in-training Esmeralda Petersburg, the disciplinarian Tess Dileva, the poetic Kirumi Silkenstar (introduced in later season), the spunky wannabe witch Karaina Caulton (introduced in later season) & the highly introverted loner Suki Ryushima - are derived from and inspired by existing OCs found on (y/n) x yandere quizzes on Quotev that I took a liking to thanks to the story/characters/detail/etc., like how much of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is inspired by Western songs. This includes their personalities. I took 5 such quizzes honestly answering the questions posed based on my personality and that of Clarkov Sahaidachny/Furutani, my first and main OC, which are very similar in most ways but very different in some areas. These 5 were the results. As for the dere sides, they start out full on and become more mentally sound as time goes on. That part is inspired by the development of Mizore Shirayuki in Rosario + Vampire. It's how I have to do almost everything in life. Start out with a base, then slowly build it into my own thing. It's a bit annoying, but I make do with what I have. I'll leave a link to the quizzes below.

📓Home for Homecoming ( Grand Line High Modern AU)

Never having been to dances and seemingly never will, Michelle accepts that her school experiences will always be dictated by assignments & high expectations as an excelling student. Knowing how hard his girlfriend works and having assignments of his own, Law chooses to skip homecoming, skates down to her house, and surprises her for the night. They share their first and best dances they ever had, because all they needed was their song, low lighting, a conversation, and each other. The art is a redraw of this & the story is fleshed out from an old draft from May.

Streetlights washed All Blue Boulevard in incandescent amber, as many teenagers excitedly readied themselves for homecoming. Tonight Grand Line High will be playing the private school, Mary Genoise, in an intense football match that will be opened with an extravagant parade featuring student-designed floats and concluded with an atmospheric Fall Formal. Given that most teachers at Grand Line High were alumni, many anecdotal stories and old yearbooks were passed around during class that week, amplifying the buzz and school pride throughout the halls. All stops were pulled for preparations, with Big Mom and her children catering a substantial tailgate for the pre-party, the woodworking and welding students putting together spectacular floats, and the gym was impressively decked out in a clever “Cursed Carnival” theme as a nod to Halloween approaching. With all the promised excitement, it was no wonder why All Blue Boulevard, where most GLH students lived, was in a riot.

Michelle watched from her window in incredulous amusement as Kid’s vermillion truck passed by with a GLH flag proudly waving in the air accompanied by vintage crossover thrash metal blaring for the entire neighborhood to hear. She headbanged along for a while, being a metalhead, herself, before returning to her desk where a novel of sticky note annotations, a math study guide, and a project proposal awaited her. “I wonder how Law is doing with Luffy and Kid right now,” Michelle thought to herself, remembering how they were jovially reined in by Luffy afterschool insisting that she and Law join the Strawhat gang in cheering “Jaggy” (Kid), Koby (who made a surprisingly great quarterback with Garp’s help and his innate clear-mindedness), and the rest of the football team. Unfortunately, despite wanting to go and having had a substantial role in designing the posters, invitations, and decorations, Michelle had to decline with approaching midterm capstone assignments in mind, wishing to get the initial pieces of a group project out of the way.

Praying that her boyfriend wouldn’t pop too many veins tonight, she checked her phone, yet there were no new messages from Law with the usual pictures of sarcastic liners or memes in relation to being in a tense situation, “Maybe he’s driving the Heart gang tonight, instead?”

Yet, she was wrong.

Hearing the crowd and noise in the streets begin to thin out, Law made haste to finish packing his backpack with snickerdoodle cookies he bought for Michelle and items he needed to do his assignments at her place, “If she can’t go to homecoming, we’ll spend it like we always did together,” Law thought to himself, checking on Onigiri’s food and water levels. Upon making eye contact, the little round dog eagerly rolled over on its back for much-loved belly rubs, which Law could not help but oblige. It had been awhile since Onigiri and Michelle’s Japanese chin/Shi Tzu mix, Lucky, had a playdate and since both Rosinante and Vincent were out of town for the weekend, Law thought it wouldn’t hurt to have the dogs catch up as he spent time with his girlfriend.

“Want to come along?” he asked the white puffball, which was met with an enthusiastic ‘arf!’ Providing a small smile at his dog’s response, Law picked Onigiri up, secured him inside his hoodie in the style of a makeshift pouch, and grabbed his skateboard on the way out.

A welcome rush of crisp exhilaration followed him as he rolled down the sidewalk, with the bordering autumnal assortment of trees invigorating his senses. Onigiri was more than happy to paw at the variety of leaves that fell their way, but whenever Law would get ready to ollie over cracks or out-of-level sections, the puffball would retreat into the safety of the hoodie. Soon, a familiar white house with periwinkle slate roofs came into view with ivy climbing up the trellis to where Michelle’s room should be. Feeling bold from the cool air on his skin and wanting to make this evening memorable for his girlfriend, Law decided to forgo the main door the moment he inserted the key and entered the passcode to open the gate, and made a beeline to the ivy. Putting his skateboard into his backpack and making sure that Onigiri was safely secured, he began his ascent.

In the meantime, Michelle was circling the last solution to her Calculus homework, when Lucky ran to her window and began barking. Strange…unlike how he typically barks when strangers get close to the house, he was wagging his tail. Suddenly she heard rustling from below, despite the wind not being particularly strong at the moment. For caution’s sake, Michelle grabbed a taser and BB-gun from her desk drawer that Vincent gave her for self-defense, but peeking out, she was stunned to find her boyfriend making his way up to her.

“Law???” she slid open the glass with surprise coloring every part of her frame, “What are you doing?”

“Exactly what it looks like; I’m searching for the rose at the top of this ivy,” he calls from below in a serious tone that obviously held some jest, hoisting himself up to the roof and climbing to her window.

Michelle laughs in muted delight as Onigiri jumps from Law’s hoodie into her arms with a happy lick to her cheek, and gingerly puts the pup down besides Lucky to welcome her boyfriend inside. “You could have used the door, you know,” she mentions, “I thought you were going to homecoming with the Heart gang or with Luffy and Kid.”

“I actually never agreed to their invitation and I’d rather spend tonight with you,” he replied, giving a quick kiss to her forehead, “and since most of the neighborhood was away, I thought it wouldn’t hurt to try re-enacting a balcony scene from those plays you like to read.”

For all his practicality, he could still be reckless, but that duality and even some instances of recklessness made him charming in her eyes. “Well, consider me lovestruck and swooning beyond repair,” she jokes, making a dramatic gesture with her hand on the back of her head, as she slumps in his arms.

An amused rumble came from Law’s throat, “No wonder why Doflamingo keeps pestering us to join Drama with acting skills like that.”

Standing herself up in the midst of giggling, Michelle took her boyfriend’s hands between hers to warm them up, which miraculously worked, given that her hands often became notoriously cold during cooler months. “But really, I’m grateful that you came over. Do you want some hot chocolate, while you’re here? I was going to take a little break, since I just finished the logarithmic derivatives study guide,” Michelle offers, to which Law agreed, knowing how rarely she took homework breaks in the first place.

With their dogs hopping after them on their way downstairs to the kitchen, Law took out a rope toy for Lucky and Onigiri to amuse themselves with, while he and Michelle customized their hot chocolates with what was available. He snickered to himself at how Michelle’s eyes shined with childlike excitement when he took out the box of cookies to accompany their drinks and how she further beamed when he mentioned that they were snickerdoodles. Once their beverages cooled down enough and a reasonable cookie ration was agreed upon, they began indulging in the snacks and a conversation about an upcoming family vacation with the Donquixote family and Vincent for winter break.

When Law put down his mug, Michelle was met with an amusing chocolate mustache above his lips, while he mentioned going to a music box museum in the town they would be visiting, and she could not help but take this opportunity to sneak a kiss.

Seeing his girlfriend leave her seat, Law assumed she wanted to move next to him, so he made space. “Do you want to try mine, mi xao?” Law offers, as she pulls up beside him.

Trying to not give herself away, she centered the mischief brewing in her chest and gave him her best demure smile. “Sure,” she replies, before cupping Law’s cheek, leaning in to coquettishly lick off his chocolate mustache, and planting an affectionate kiss to his lips in half-apology for her sudden actions. His blush-tinted speechless expression met her when she pulled away, but despite being caught off-guard, he wasn’t shy of physical affection now that they were alone, so he guided Michelle towards him again to continue where their lips left off.

“Hmm, your hot chocolate tastes sweeter than mine,” she comments, pulling away for breath, causing him to grin against her lips with a hum.

Feeling a little mischievous, himself, an idea crossed his mind perceiving the whipped cream bottle nearby that neither used. Thankfully, his reach allowed him to grab it while she was distracted by their kiss. “Maybe I can make it taste even sweeter,” he whispers when they broke away, bringing the whipped cream bottle up to dispense a little on her nose.

“Law what the—“ she was cut-off in the midst of her confusion at his tongue gingerly licking off the cream. Now it was her turn to stare slack-jawed.

“Who knew that the perfect fall treat is actually you,” Law teased, giving her a smirk that screamed ‘payback.’

“Last I checked, since we’re both born in the Northern hemisphere, you were born in Fall and I was born in Spring,” she playfully retorted, reaching for a towel or napkin, but Law’s was quicker and before Michelle could ask, he already was wiping her nose.

“Maybe being born during Spring is why your nose gets stuffy when you are full. I think I made a good decision putting whipped cream on it to make things ‘airier,’” Law jests in feign analysis, akin to that of a doctor making a diagnosis.

Unable to contain her laughter, Michelle playfully mumbles into the napkin, “You’re going to pay for that,” only for Law to relinquish the kerchief into her hands and cross his arms wearing an expression challenging: ‘I dare you.’ Not one to be taunted, Michelle feigned grace while throwing away her napkin, hoping to catch Law off-guard from behind, but just as she reached out to grab him, he juked and bounded to the other side of the kitchen counter.

“I saw that coming, mi xao and I don’t think I’ll ever get over this betrayal. Who would have thought: my own girlfriend trying to blindside me after I helped her?” he smirked with a cocky provocation, backing into the living room. Law was hoping she’d play along to extend her assignment break, knowing that deep down, she wished that she could have fun like everyone else who were able to normally participate in school events. Thankfully, an all too familiar smirk crossed Michelle’s face, which made his heart race with the adrenaline of anticipation. She was going to play along.

“It isn’t a blindside if you already knew what I was doing!” she counters, carefully following his pace, before it broke out into a chase. Michelle might have been light on her feet, but Law had greater stride, which worked to his advantage. She climbed over the couch in hot pursuit, while Law circled behind the coffee table to put a barrier between them.

“So you are admitting an attempt to blindside me? What happened to “honor?”” he sarcastically taunts, feeling a hot rush course through his veins watching Michelle step down from the cushions like an empress in grasp of conquest. Law deliberately allowed her to close the distance between them for a moment, only to jump away.

Curse his long beautiful legs. “I already did you the honor of warning you that you’d be paying for putting whipped cream on my nose! Attempting to grab you from behind was a strategic application, that you sadly saw through,” she laughs, mirroring his evasive maneuvers in search of an opening.

Their dogs thought it seemed like their owners were having great fun playing chase with each other, so they decided they wanted to participate too. Every time Law would dodge Michelle’s lunges or run, they’d follow at his heels as if they were playing a game of tag, although Lucky would sometimes try to obstruct Law’s path and Onigiri would attempt to distract Michelle, feeling that it was only right to help their owners. After turning into the hall, it seemed that she lost him within the multiple closets and connecting corridors, until she heard footsteps upstairs.

Bingo.

Lucky and Onigiri followed her on her search, with Law’s white puffball attempting to distract her from finding its master with requests for belly rubs and her furry caramel friend showing her the way to where Law’s scent was last. A wave of nostalgia hit her, recalling how they used to play hide and seek in Mama Donquixote’s backyard. Michelle couldn’t help but feel that Law was being deliberately playful this evening in lieu of her being unable to attend homecoming and that thought alone filled her chest with an indescribable warmth that not even the gas lamps at homecoming could provide.

Walking further down the hall, Michelle found it curious that her bedroom door was shut, despite rarely closing it when she was at home, so Law had to be in there. As if reading her thoughts, the dogs confirmed it by pushing their way inside to reveal her boyfriend sitting on her bed reviewing her Calculus homework.

“So question 26 is 4x over x squared minus 1 for the last string,” Law hummed to himself, flicking his eyes up to Michelle with an inviting air.

She only matched the odd coquettishness in his eyes, as she made her way towards him and tapped his arm in a gesture of ‘tag.’ “I’m sure you didn’t need to confirm with me that your answer was right,” she smiles, knowing full well that Law was quicker than her when it came to numbers. Looking at the time, however, they decided that they needed put their banter aside for the time being and work on the remaining homework they had on schedule.

Two hours pass with the two aggregating resources for their respective assignments, taking turns choosing the music to accompany them, while the dogs played with each other under their owner’s feet.

Around 7:30, Michelle’s phone pinged with messages from Perona showcasing how beautifully the gym was set up thanks to the former’s creative direction and videos of the first few dancers under the starlit Big Top.

“What did she send?” Law asks, briefly turning his eyes from his chemistry homework after the 15th notification buzz within that minute.

“Photos of the gym and a few dancers. Look, there’s Sanji and Pudding!” Michelle pointed out, elated that her friend seemed to be having the time of her life.

Law amusingly recalled the initiative that Michelle and a few of her classmates took to support Pudding for her first date and made a sound through his nose, “Kuroashi-ya must have lost a quart of blood seeing her in that pink harlequin-inspired dress.”

Michelle nodded with a grin, looking through the photos and videos with particular attention to the decor and props that she worked so hard to design and paint. Everything was perfect, from the multi-striped snack booths, the enigmatic ‘directional’ signs strangled by bramble imitations, the various cut-outs of delightfully eccentric circus motifs made from scratch—even hollow trapeze bars wrapped in atmospheric ghastly LEDs were installed on the ceiling, accenting the illuminated fabric from above.

“Everything is perfect,” a whisper escaped from her light smile, yet her eyes were not smiling. Law perceived that she seemed only partially satisfied and he knew the exact reason why.

“It is. You’ve always done a great job with everything you do…” he begins, gently guiding her hand to put down the phone before continuing with his usual frankness, “but for all the effort and excitement you put into making experiences memorable and easier for others, it’s unfair that you don’t have the opportunity to enjoy something you made possible.”

Michelle’s eyes fell and interlaced her fingers around Law’s that tightened their hold on hers, “I can’t fully enjoy something knowing that it’ll result in more stress or work on another end, but the least I can do is try to participate or get a glimpse of what ‘normal fun’ is in my own way. Being able to make things is enough for me and besides…this is how it’s always been being someone who people hold high expectations for...and I don’t think it’s going to change anytime soon, so…I’m sorry if I can’t go to prom with you next year.”

Through how the words caught in her throat, Law knew she was attempting to prevent herself from crying. It broke his heart knowing that the remarkable girl that he loved viewed her talents and achievements to be hollow blessings, along with how she thought she was holding him back, when all she had been doing since they met as children was providing him hope and bringing him up from his lowest points. “I don’t care about that, mi xao. I care about you. You aren’t happy with always being forced on the sidelines without being able to fully enjoy your talents, are you?” Law thought to himself, pondering a way to give her a moment of magic that she often had no choice but to miss out on. Vincent surely encouraged her abilities and provided her with as many fun experiences he could give when she was small, but since he often was away on cases, Law was the only one she could truly open her heart to and he wanted to show her that within her loneliness, she could always count on him to sit beside her or lend her a hand for to stand up when she couldn’t find the strength to…just like how she did for him when his night terrors about his family caught up to him or during junior high when he became detached from others.

After caressing her hand with his thumb for a moment to collect his thoughts, he spoke, “Mi xao, dances and rallies aren’t really my thing in the first place, so you’ve never held me back. Even if I did go, it wouldn’t be the same without you and I’d much rather spend my time making memories with the most important person to me, than any high school bucket lists.”

A shaky sigh came from her, both in the comfort of his words and letting go of long-restrained emotions. Her phone pinged again with new messages and assignment notifications, but she turned it over and took a moment to whisper a trembling, “Spending time with the most important person to me means the world too,” into his shoulder.

Rubbing her back, Law began finding the white glare of her semester group project proposal to be irritatingly intolerable, so he switched over to her WhoTube tab and got an idea when he saw their song, “Forever With You” by Decyfer Down on the suggestions.

“Let’s have our homecoming dance right here, the slow dance should be starting soon, anyways,” Law whispered into Michelle’s ear, before standing up from his seat to lower the lights.

Familiar chords began strumming from her computer and something inside of Michelle lifted, like a heaviness dissipating when there is finally a moment of rest. With Law, whatever seemed unlikely or impossible before, became possible in unexpected ways that felt freeing, so she did not hesitate accepting the warmth of his hand when he outstretched it to her again.

“I thought you said dancing wasn’t your thing,” she lightly smiled, melting into his touch when his arm wrapped around her waist. Yet despite Michelle’s attempt to jest, the tears still fell. This would be their first dance in years, since Mama Donquixote’s Christmas party when they were 8, and there was a certain poetic nostalgia distilled in the moment she accepted his hand, no longer as childhood friend, but as lovers.

“I said dances aren’t my thing, not dancing. Mama Donquixote would be offended if I didn’t know the basics after all those lessons,” Law replied, fondly remembering the days when Mama Donquixote would show him and Michelle how to dance and dress them up for their ‘plays’ they’d put on for her. Perhaps he loved Michelle back then, although he did not know how to put it into words at the time. Law still recalled the first time his heart skipped a beat when she shyly approached him in a powdery white Coppelia costume Mama Donquixote made for her, but even in her pajamas and ponytail in disarray right now, he still thought she looked a vision, because the smile she held for him remained unchanged.

“I want to love what you love. I want to see what you see. I want a heart that burns like a fire in me,” Law sings along, caressing away the slow cascade of tears running down her cheek in gentle cherish. She surrendered into his touch with a breathy smile, feeling all tenseness gradually dissipate into air. Michelle knew Law did not consider comfort to be his strong suit, but on the contrary, his style of comforting that expressed itself through actions, such as this gesture, only exemplified that his embrace was the sincerest sanctuary for her outside of her imagination. Drawing away to twirl her around, only to pull his girlfriend into a deeper embrace with each heartfelt strum of the guitar, it was as if Law was silently telling her in between the lyrics “Only for you.”

“I want your light in my life, I want my heart renewed. Here I am…Forever with you…” he continues, singing the lyrics in the spirit of affirmations that only prefaced the intensity of love he held for her. Michelle only held Law closer, recalling when they first met as children, how they grew up together, how they were always standing up for each other even to the extent of staying attached to the hip when they’re sick…Despite being only teenagers, the emotions between them felt as if they were a continuation of something from centuries past. Whether that was true or her propensity to feel deeply played a part in inspiring those sentiments in her--she couldn’t be certain--but the warmth of Law’s lips brushing against the crown of her head within their intimate waltz told her that those feelings had a mutual home in him.

At the swell of the bridge, Law swept Michelle off her feet and spun her around, with their dogs happily watching the scene from their corner in fascination that events from “the magic box” (TV) could happen to their owners. An unrestrained childlike smile spreads across her face as Law conveyed her into the air, even if it was only for a moment. Yet it wasn’t the rush of wind in her face nor the dance that unraveled her melancholy nor made her laugh—it was who she was dancing with.

♪Now I’m here with you, after all that I’ve been through. I just can’t live without…♪

“I love you, Law,” she whispers in a glassy eyed affirmation, as he brings her back into the warmth of his embrace.

Guiding her head to lay on his chest while they swayed to the music, he whispers back, without missing a beat, “I love you too, Michelle.”

♪…the grace you gave to me, now I see what you see. Your beautiful life, forever in me…♪

The manner Law’s gray eyes regarded her with unadulterated tenderness and devotion fueled her with an insurmountable sense of safety. So gathering herself, she moved her arms to wrap around his neck and looked into those eyes that she loved so much to sing the closing chorus to him, “I want to love what you love. I want to see what you see. I want a heart that burns like a fire in me. I want your light in my life, I want my heart renewed. Here I am…Here I am…Here I am: Forever with you.”

At the guitar’s outro, the couple felt more at home than they ever were in each other’s arms and no music was needed for them to continue swaying to an invisible melody they shared amongst themselves. Turning Michelle towards the faint amber filtering in from the streetlights, Law searched her face for any traces of remaining sadness and felt the weight in his heart lift when he saw none. A small ‘thank you,’ was whispered to him when he traced his thumb over her eyes, and he answered with a gentle kiss conveying that she was always welcome to rest in him whenever she needed.

The perfect homecoming experience didn’t need to involve wardrobe and makeup transformations, love rivals, or whatever came with typical high school movies; it was making memories with those who mattered most. And perhaps with a little space, music, and along with the right atmosphere, a dance interlude could happen, where one leasts expects.

Remasters Shouldn’t Be Lazy, Broken Ports! Why Have So Many Been Like This?

When a new video game console releases, one of the inevitable questions that will be asked is "how the hell are the older games gonna play on this thing?". It seems that backwards compatibility is becoming less and less of a thing these days, but at least PlayStation and Xbox still embrace it (the latter WAY better than the former). But if there's some cases like the Nintendo Switch where backwards compatibility just isn't possible, what do you do?

Port your game over and sell it at an inflated price, of course!

...No, that doesn't happen ALL the time. In reality, when companies are put in a position like this, they take the effort in to port the game to newer hardware. They can take this opportunity to make it prettier, implement quality-of-life fixes, bump the frame-rate up, or even include some extra story content!

What happens when just the bare minimum is done, though? Well, you end up with some sorry excuses that don't deserve the "remaster" title. These are their stories.

I think it's best that we just jump straight into this, with the first game I would like to talk about: Persona 3 Portable.

A modern, playable version of Persona 3 has been speculated about and rumored for years. Some thought it would be a port of Persona 3 FES, the enhanced version on PlayStation 2. Others thought (and still think) it will be completely remade in Persona 5's engine. But what happened in reality is that the PlayStation Portable version, released in 2009/10, was the version ported to modern consoles and PC.

This is a very competent version of Persona 3, mind you... for the PSP. What baffles me is that this is the version Atlus chose, when they have shown that they're already capable of remastering PlayStation 2 games like Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne. It may have a female main character and controllable party members in battle, but the game itself has been simplified to all hell to fit on the PSP. There's no FMV cutscenes or fully-explorable world, and all the cutscenes just play like a normal visual novel.

But something like this should be easy to port over, right? Well, they screwed a PSP game up, somehow. The audio is compressed incredibly hard, and backgrounds and character portraits look TERRIBLE. The latter in particular is especially unacceptable. It's like they put everything in an AI upscaler and called it a day.

It's "playable" in a sense, but this should have been handled much better. A mod team is already working on remaking the assets in a true HD format, so I would definitely pick the game up once they are finished.

Next is a game I'm not as familiar with: Tales of Symphonia.

This game released for the GameCube in 2003 in Japan, and over the years has gotten ported over to the PlayStation 2 and 3, PC, and most recently- the Nintendo Switch, Xbox series, and PS4. There have been a few issues that popped up in the subsequent ports to newer systems, more notably the PS3 version. It seems that a lot of the bugs in this version carried over to the latest remaster.

It's currently rife with UI bugs, long loading times, jaggy character portraits, and skipping music. The remaster is even stuck at 30fps throughout the game, when the GameCube version had 60fps battles in comparison. Thankfully the remaster team has apologized for how poor the remaster has been, and promises to release patches in the future.

Something that our next game has done time and time again- and still ends up with a poor experience.

Life is Strange is a 2015 episodic story-driven game made by Dontnod that released for PC, Mac, PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, along with mobile releases. It focuses on Max Caulfield as she tries to solve mysteries about a missing girl with her childhood best friend- and her new ability to rewind time. Its 2017 prequel, "Before the Storm", launched on all the platforms listed already, minus the PS3 and Xbox 360.

So when Deck Nine, who handled the prequel, decided to remaster the two games for those same exact platforms (minus Mac and adding the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series systems with the Switch coming later), this... confused me. It's not uncommon to see this kind of thing happen, of course. The Last Of Us Part I is available on a system that can already play the original PS4 remaster. But that's a remake with some enhanced controls, new options, retooled enemy AI, and an uncapped frame rate setting. These are quite literally the exact same games but just made buggier, on systems that can play the games in their original form just fine.

The remastered collection is full of animation bugs, freezing, missing subtitles, buggy audio, blurry visuals at certain points, file names being in place of subtitles, flickering textures, scenes that are way darker than the original game, and LOTS OF LOADING. ESPECIALLY on the Nintendo Switch.

Patches have been released many times ever since the launch of the PC, PlayStation and Xbox releases on February 1st, 2022- with the latest patch releasing today as of this writing: March 6th, 2023! It has been over a year since this collection released and it is still getting patches to try and fix this broken mess.

My question is- where in the world has the effort gone? What happened to developers taking their time with developing these remasters of beloved games, and not having their player base be their QA team? Atlus especially has had more than enough time to make their remaster good, and they just slapped everything in an upscaler and called it a day.

This isn't to just slander these poor jobs, this is a call to action- a call for developers and publishers to stop rushing things like this out the door for a quick buck. Don't promise to fix it later, have it already fixed by the time it releases! It disappoints the customer and does not give them hope for any future remasters being released.

I hope that part of the gaming industry will soon realize that, and put time into making sure that their products are in tip-top shape. A happy customer means more business yada yada yada capitalism bullcrap and whatever. We're all slaves to it. Go read a book or whatever.

Thanks for reading, everyone! I have hope that remasters will be good once more, but for now it seems not at all likely. Well, except for Metroid Prime. Good on Nintendo for that one.

“Alright, let’s get this started!”

A rather strong young man of sixteen, Tony Detweiler’s “go-get-’em” attitude leads him toward both lots of fun and lots of trouble. As the right-side hitter for the Citiesville Knights he takes his blocks and passes seriously. When he’s not at home or working at Nasty Burger, he’s mostly found on the court or at the gym. He and his parents moved out to Citiesville for better opportunities, and although he wishes he was closer to Townsville he’s glad to have found some friends on the volleyball team.

Living in the Jaggy Mountains, one of the last few Goliaths alive made her acquaintance with none other than Jagur Jaggy. Considered a runt by her culture, Morgana’s nine-and-a-half foot tall stature towers over the Jaggy citizens. After meeting the Jaggy Prince she became quick friends with him, though shades of scarlet will tell you about her other feelings for the prince. Despite living on her own for most of her life, Morgana believes that her long lost brother may still be out in the world surviving on his own. With a few secrets of her own, the shy girl only lets out so much about her past to Jagur...

The previous monarch of Lunaria, Kalista Heart held the title of Queen of Hearts for two-hundred and fifty years before stepping down from the throne and giving it to her son. Known for her strict law and order, Kalista was popular among the old noble families in Lunaria for favoring them when writing the laws of the land. Many of these families want her put back into power now that her son has undone these laws but she continues to deny them. Despite no longer ruling over Lunaria, Kalista still lives inside the Heart family castle and will, on occasion, grant her son advice on how to rule the kingdom.

Of all the members of the Norse Pantheon, none are as cunning and devious as Loki. A magic using god, Loki’s most notorious crime among the Aesir and Vanir was the slaying of Baldr, the punishment of which was the chaining and separation of his children Fenrir and Jormungandr from him. A shapeshifter by nature, Loki often switches between a man’s figure and a woman’s figure (typically going by the name “Heedsi” when presenting as female). Despite his more loner personality, Loki has had his eyes set on a certain someone for some time now (though he doesn’t act on his feelings often). He secretly despises the new Apollo, not believing he’s the incarnation of the Baldr he killed over a millennia ago...

The odd duckling of her family, Princess Ofelia Naga is the youngest and third child of Queen Nixitia Naga and King Colton Kahn of the Queendom of Wraiven. Like both of her older sisters, the Crown Princess Thesephia and Princess Ankahlia, Ofelia has a special interest of her own. While Thesephia concerns herself with law and her books, and Ankahlia loves her taxidermy, Ofelia gives her attention to her garden and alchemy. Although they keep their relationship a secret, it’s not unknown to her family that Ofelia and the King of Hearts are romantically entangled with one another.

Anmol Singh Jaggi, the Chairman and Managing Director of Gensol Engineering Ltd., expressed his honor and excitement over the consortium’s success. He highlighted the consortium's commitment to innovation and excellence in the renewable energy sector, noting how this project aligns with India's broader energy transition goals.
