The new year everyone tries to start it off right. But while you are focusing on either your mental health, or your physical appearance don't forget about the wellbeing of your technology and spiritual life. When was the last time you wiped down your keyboard, screen, or your mouse? I even used canned air to clean out the inside of my mouse because I couldn't remember the last time I did that. Don't forget to wipe down your remotes too! As for faith, you could start fresh with the goal to read the whole bible in a year. I did this a few times with several different versions. I didn't really think it would be possible but it is. Jeremiah 29:11 - “For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Comet City Chapter 3
Yandere Superhero vs Yandere Super villain
You'll be getting some good villain content next chap I promise hehehe :3c
Chap 1. Chap 2. Chap 3
⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°
The next few days were a buzz, everyone was talking about Techbytes attack on the school. The schools’ schedule was pushed back a full month for cleaning and repair, with everyone assured up and down that security would be implemented to ensure this couldn't happen again. Was anyone told what this was? Not yet, it seemed to be some kind of secret.
But it gave you plenty to write about and since you were a witness and wrote the first article about the attack on the school. You were tasked to write about repair updates by your boss. Apparently keeping your name attached to this gave the paper extra ethos.
But soon the buzz died down and things were relatively back to normal. The school opened and everything went back to normal. You eventually had to start writing about other things, which was fine by you.
—---
Patrolling tonight was slow. Despite being bored as hell, you still had to maintain your vigilance. But you spot an ice cream stand and… you spot your favorite flavor.
Approaching, you order a soft serve cone and pull out your wallet to find the cash. But you suddenly felt something brush your back as an arm rests on your shoulder.
“And I'll take a scoop of mint chocolate chip.” A familiar voice chirps from behind you. You spin around.
“Dude! Personal space?!” You yelp. Zenith just chuckles, leaning towards you, pressing your chest into his face. You hear a little ding and you crane your head back to see that he used his card. You froze for a minute, noting he's in civilian wear– a crisp white cotton polo with jeans and a nice pair of casual shoes. He must have a night off, because you’ve never seen him in anything other than hero garb.
“Snuck away from me last time, huh? I haven’t seen you in a month!” He chuckles, smug as he hands your ice cream to you. You huff, taking it.
“I could have payed for it.” You scoff. You never brought ID or cards but you brought cash when doing patrols for food.
“I know. But let me treat you. I insist.” He says, gesturing for you to follow him. And he did buy you ice-cream, so… it couldn't hurt to take a quick walk with him. So you follow. He smiles, seemingly smug about how his plan worked.
“Well, it's good to see you. Heard you were there at the Hero Academy a month ago? Why didn't you stop to chat with me? I could've gotten you dinner or something as thanks. The Hero Academy means a lot to all of us.” He hums, taking a small bite of his ice cream.
“I… didn't want to stick around. The police and other heros aren't too fond of having a vigilante around.” You hum. That was half the reason you left. You start licking your soft serve. It was refreshing, just what you had hoped for.
“Hmm… that's a shame. I like you, if it helps.” He sighs, as you turn a corner. The bright neon lights of the city were dazzling, spots of all different hues.
“... So what brings you out here on your night off?” You ask. It was only polite to pretend to be interested.
“You. I had a feeling you'd be out and about. I just got lucky in finding you.” He says, glancing to you. He soaks in your face (or at least what he can see). Under any normal circumstance, his expression would make you blush and look away.
“Um. Okay? Anyway,” You say, staring straight ahead, “weird move but I can't tell you how to spend your free time off of work.”
He chuckles, deep and hearty in his chest before slinging an arm around your shoulder, pulling you into the scent of cypress.
“I'm still patrolling, you know?” You huff.
“Says who? You're your own boss, technically. So can I pretty please ask your CEO to give you an ice cream break to hang out with your best bud?”
“You're not my ‘best bud’.” You scoff.
“I'm hurt! Well, who is?”
You open your mouth and then shut it. “Nice try, Zenith.”
He shrugged, “Worth a try. Can't blame a guy for trying to know the actual name of the love of his life.”
You scoff and roll your eyes, he's such a ham. You wish he'd stop being a freak about it, though.
“I can't be bought with soft serve.” You chuckle, turning back to the cone. You probably could, but he didn't need to know that.
“Well what do you like? Apparently not coffee, since you've turned down every coffee to get some. What about… Italian? I know a good seafood place if that's what you like. If you'd prefer a more low key spot for our first date that's fine… I'm willing to go to a place like-”
“Stop.” You say. “I'm not going on a-”
“I wasn’t going to say fast food. Just, like, a more low-key place. Well, I suppose this is a date. We're walking and eating ice cream… seems like enough to call it a date.” He hums, shrugging. You look at him, seeing him beaming back at you with those perfect straight teeth. You stop, and he stops too, startled.
“This,” You say, gesturing between you two, “isn't a date.”
He nods, smiling crypticlly.
“Okay, so be it. But you're not on duty until you finish your ice-cream, deal?” He hums. You two start walking again, quiet for a while.
“We should talk about your hero work.” He hums. You roll your eyes.
“I fly solo. I don't need a Boy-wonder sidekick.” You chuckle.
“You do good work. I'm telling you, you really should reconsider my deal.” He says, patting your shoulder.
“... You know the answer.” You sigh, taking a bite of your cone.
“I know… But you'll think about it.” He says, tossing his little paper bowl into the nearest trashcan. He glances up towards the skyline and smiles. “Want to head to the roof? You can see a lot more from there.”
You squint, but… you can't quite find a reason to say no. Sometimes you went up to the tops of taller buildings to scout danger from afar. You unraveled your shadows to scale the building, but Zenith stopped you, holding out a hand. After a moment, you take it, assuming he wanted to lift you to the top as some kind of a nice gesture.
What you didn’t expect was him to yank you into his arms, lifting your legs up to hold you bridal style as he lifts off, the wind howling as you’re suddenly lifted to the skyline. After the shock wears off, you cling to him. Your shadows couldn’t extend too far and any sort of building was out of reach. You didn’t want to know if he was lucky or aware of this.
”Put me down!” You yell, shrill and shakey, your stomach turning as you gaze below. The safety of the floor is so far below it makes you dizzy.
”Relax, I’ve got you.” He chuckles, slowly lowering your legs so you’re vertical. You cling to him, wrapping your legs and arms around him like a koala. What the hell was he doing?! Was this bastard about to drop you to make some sick point?!
”Hey! Hey, relax just… trust me. This will be fun.” He says, halfway annoyed and endeared.
“Zenith don’t fucking drop me! I swear to god, what is your problem?!” You plead.
“I won’t! I’d be a fool to drop someone as precious as you!” He chuckles, peeling your legs off from around him, forcing you to cling to his shoulders. Your feet find the tops of his, the only support.
“Come on, trust me. Please?” He murmurs, peeling your arms off of him, pulling you away just far enough to see your mask. You glare at him, pissed off but he just flashes out a smile as he guides your left hand to rest on the top of his shoulder and he takes the other on his own, placing his free hand on your waist. You peer over your shoulder, looking down at the plummet below.
“So, now that we’re cozy, let's chat.” He hums, low and soft. You turn to him, freaked out.
“I’ve been thinking… Now that you and I are old pals-“ He begins.
”We’re not pals.” You interject. He pauses and sighs, but continues.
”We should get to actually know each other. I don’t know a lot about you other than you’re grouchy and like soft serve.” He pouts, starting to very slowly turn the both of you. It isn’t quick enough to make you dizzy, it’s just a very slow movement.
”You don’t need to know me. That's the point of a secret identity.” You grumble.
”That's the next thing I wanted to talk about.” He says, his smile falling, “Take the mask off.”
You freeze. His demeanor shifted, a warning.
“No.”
”…No…?” He murmurs, sof, disappointed. He closes his eyes, taking a deep breath in and out.
“No. I’m not taking it off.” You assert, glancing back over to check if there was anything to use your shadows as an anchor point. There wasn’t.
”Let’s make a deal. Tell me something important, interesting about yourself, and I won’t rip that mask off.” He says, narrowing his eyes. “It doesn’t have to be like, your deepest darkest secret. I wouldn’t mind that, but… Something so I don’t feel like you’re at arms length. So I can actually know something about you.”
You narrow your eyes, scoffing. This was so ridiculous but you couldn’t find a way out.
”Like?”
”Your eye color. Something that makes you happy. Your job. If you have a type.” He hums, his voice soft and oddly soothing.
You think. You weren’t inclined to give him anything useful to find your civilian identity, but… you’re not sure if he’d be satisfied with something ambiguous.
”You seem a bit lost. I’ll start, I was named after my grandfather, who I never got to meet. I really love strawberry flavored treats even though my PR team is worried that it's too girly. And, um… I’m not a natural blond.” He hums, thinking. You gasp.
”Wait what’s your real hair color, then?” You say.
”I’m… not sure. But I’m pretty sure it’s a light brown.” He hums, gently resting his chin on your shoulder. You sit with this information.
”They make you dye it?”
”Yeah. Apparently it gives me a ‘heroic patriotic look’, whatever that means.” He shrugs. “I don’t mind it too much.”
“Do you miss your old hair color?”
”Nah. I was blond as a little kid but we started doing touch ups after I hit middle school. It just made sense. Don’t tell anyone, though.” He chuckles, rubbing his thumb against the curve of your spine. You never knew that much about him.
In the distance, you hear someone scream. You tilt your head, finding that you were close enough to a building to anchor with a shadow. You turn to him. His expression was so… at peace. Like he was just so comfortable.
”I… have to go.” You say, gesturing to the ground below. He freezes, his expression souring slightly.
“What? No, the police can get there in time. It’s okay.” He insists, giving a reassuring smile and pressing his hand into your back, pulling you close.
”Zenith. I have a job to do. Please let me go.” You say, slow and firm. His jaw tenses.
”You… What? No, it’s… it’s fine. Please, stay.” He pleads, intense but soft.
You latch onto a nearby building, using the element of surprise to yank yourself away. You land on the roof, turning to give him a look. His phone rings, probably in his back pocket. He stares at you. It sends a shiver down your spine. It isn’t cold or angry, just… longing.
”Sounds like you’ve got a job too.” You say, before using your shadows to vault away, towards the increasingly frantic screaming. You don’t glance back, not seeing how he just floated there, before answering the phone, his head hung and his grip tight.

Understanding AI’s Role in New-age B2B Technology Applications: AI TechBytes with Amazon Business’ Douglas Gray

AiThority TechBytes interview is a dedicated conversation platform for AI in B2B technology insights. Today, we have Douglas Gray, Chief Technology Officer at Amazon Business talking to us about the different ways customers use AI in B2B technology workflows.
Reaching over $35 in annualized sales worldwide in 2023, Amazon Business is one of the fastest-growing ventures in Amazon’s history. Today, Amazon Business provides the tools and analytics that give businesses control, visibility, and insight into purchasing, supply chain, and other activities to improve the business buying process. Our interview focused on Doug’s role at Amazon Business and how his team creates a fruitful relationship with AI engineers and users to meet today’s demand for high-speed Machine Learning deployments within the Cloud.
Here’s the full interview with Doug.
Hi Doug, welcome to our AiThority.com’s TechBytes Interview Series. As a seasoned technology expert, please tell us about your journey in the AI Cloud industry.
I joined Amazon Business as the Chief Technology Officer in 2021. I’m responsible for leading the innovation, product and software development, and sales and deployment processes to deliver increased customer value. Before my current role, I was the GM & SVP of Engineering at Indeed where I transformed products to serve customer needs worldwide.
Who are your 6 million customers and how do they leverage your products/ services?
Our customers range from sole proprietors to organizations (non-profits, education institutes, healthcare facilities, government agencies, etc.) and multinational enterprises with tens of thousands of employees, with the tools they need to improve the business buying process.
Customers leverage various cost-efficient solutions such as quantity discounts for everyday products and supplies and the option to subscribe and save with automated delivery of items they order frequently. Several other tools are designed to make business buying easier and more convenient including Business Prime, a popular membership amongst small businesses. Business Prime offers free shipping on eligible items, personalized deals, convenient shipping, and more. With convenient shipping, our customers have a predictable delivery schedule that they can depend on.
Through integrated solutions, Amazon Business Partners are uniquely positioned to help organizations at any stage of the procurement journey. How is AI helping you at the backend?
With Amazon Business Analytics, we use artificial intelligence (AI) to simplify the procurement process and to manage smart business buying.
By leveraging AI, we can streamline the procurement experience in a variety of other ways: proactive product recommendations with AI-powered search, smart chatbots for easy customer service needs, and more seamless systems integrations.
In our 2024 Amazon Business State of Procurement report we found that 98 percent of decision-makers globally are already planning investments or upgrades in analytics and insights tools, automation, and AI-driven optimization of purchasing decisions in the next few years. They are also interested in discovering or learning about new digital tools that could scale up their procurement operations. With this increased demand, it’s important to have product solutions that can serve all businesses’ needs and we are constantly looking at how we can up-level our offerings to better meet them where they are.
What new tools and features have Amazon Business added to their B2B solutions for the unmet needs of their customers?
With continued supply chain and economic challenges, we consistently reevaluate market needs so our customers can stick to a budget, free up flow and ensure time efficiency to help drive business growth. For example, we heard from customers that it was difficult to find and select certain types of products, so we introduced more filters based on their needs, including: local sellers, women-owned, veteran-owned, small businesses, Black-owned, and other small businesses. This has not only helped businesses purchase the right product, but it has also helped keep them within budget.
We know credit is at the forefront of sole proprietors' and small business owners’ minds, so in Nov. 2023, we announced an expanded partnership with Affirm to customers a pay-over-time option at checkout, a first for Amazon Business.
By selecting Affirm at checkout and entering a few pieces of business information, credit decision is made. If approved, there are various customized pay-over-time options our customers can choose ranging from three to 48 months. Each transaction is finalized with the confidence that they’ll never pay more than the price agreed upon upfront.
As a Tech Leader, what industries would be the fastest to adopt AI/ML with smoother efficiency? What are the new emerging markets for these technology markets for 2024?
As an AI advocate, what are some key challenges and opportunities you see in leveraging AI for B2B tech applications for software product development, sales and deployment processes?
The 2024 State of Procurement Report also revealed key challenges and opportunities for AI. Specifically, 38% of respondents reported wanting to spend less time/energy on cost and budget, something AI has helped improve.
Procurement professionals reported additional challenges for the next year — security and technology and technological changes/AI.
That said, there was also an awareness of the importance and opportunities that arise from leveraging this technology. 44% of respondents reported wanting to use technology for quicker or deeper data analysis and 43% reported using technology to save time. To do so, B2B companies must invest in this technology. That’s why we weren’t surprised that 98% of respondents were planning investments in automation and AI for their procurement operations in the next few years.
How should young technology professionals train themselves to work better with Automation and AI-based tools?
Amazon Business offers various educational resources for professionals in the procurement industry, including this webinar on how to use AI & analytics to drive intelligent procurement. We also resources through training videos for administrators and buyers to learn how to create a successful, data-driven procurement program. All of these programs would be a good place for young technology professionals to start, however, if they are looking for resources outside of the procurement industry, Coursera has a broad and deep catalog of training courses to provide the foundation that technology professionals need. I highly recommend Generative AI with Large Language Models.
Explain why integrations like SSO and SCIM are so important for Amazon Business and the procurement industry.
Our customers need technology integrations to work seamlessly for them to connect all of their various systems and business processes.
A few of the primary methods of integration include Punchout, Punch-In, Integrated Search, and Single Sign-on.
Single Sign-On (SSO) is an integral part of most organizations’ identity management strategy, which is why Amazon Business’ SSO technology is a key offering. Our SSO benefits include central control access, one-click secure buyer access, and an accelerated program adoption to simplify the buying onboarding experience.
SCIM for Amazon Business was announced in January 2024 and is now available with Okta and Azure customers globally. SCIM is an add-on SSO feature that allows companies to automate user onboarding, offboarding, and group management at scale.
We love the webinars you did featuring Amazon Business last year. Could you tell us what are your webinar content syndication plans for the next 18 months?
Amazon Business is committed to the growth of our business customers. In 2024, we plan to continue to act as a resource for businesses by continuing our annual programs and data reports that allow us to supply procurement professionals with the knowledge and tools they need to continue to grow.
Tag one person in the AI/ML sector, whose answers to these questions you would love to read.
Reid Hoffman.
Thank you, Doug! That was fun and we hope to see you back on AiThority.com’s TechBytes interview soon.

Comet City Chapter 5
Chap 1 Chap 2 Chap 3 Chap 4
⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°
The world came back in spots of black and bursts of color. The first thing you can sense is the deep seated throbbing coming from what feels like the core of your head. You open your eyes with a deep groan, rolling onto your back. That debris hitting you would have killed any non-mutated person.
But sitting still means being a target, so you sit up. But a hand shove you back down, leaning weight onto you. There’s screaming but you can’t make it out, your ears are ringing. When did they start doing that? In the weaves of color and splotches, you make out Techbytes mask. Then, he's gone.
Your vision comes back as you see Zenith scrambling to you. You can't hear what he's saying, but he clutches you, pulling you onto his lap as he checks your face. All you can do is blink until you feel your senses come back.
You sit up, taking in the now trashed downtown area. Paramedics just got here apparently, because you see people being carried in stretchers.
“Talk to me! Please!” Zenith pleads, clutching your shoulders. You finally look him in the eye. He looks… terrified. In all your years of seeing him on the screens, he'd never looked scared before.
“I'm fine… where the hell did he go?!” You grunt, getting to your feet with much difficulty. The world felt sideways but you couldn't focus on that.
“He's gone. He… he checked on you and left.” He says, putting a hand on your shoulder to steady you. You glance at the rest of his hero team across the street, focusing on rescue efforts.
“I should go…” You mumble, stumbling away.
Zenith tries to follow, about to call out to you, but someone on his hero team calls his name. He freezes, torn. You nod to him before using your shadows to vault away.
Zenith just stands there, watching as you leave, his jaw set and his eyes wide.
-------
When you finally get home, you're wiped. Your head hurts and all you can do is collapse on the couch. When your phone rings, you hiss but look to see that it's Arlo calling. So you sit up and answer it. The line is silent for a moment.
“Arlo?” You murmur, rubbing your forehead. He breathes your name, soft and low.
“I saw the news about Techbyte, are you… okay? I saw a lot of people have gotten hurt. Are you okay?” He asks, urgently. You grumble, willing your aching knees to stand. You shuffle into the kitchen to grab water.
“I'm okay. Banged up but okay. I'm going to call out of work tomorrow.” You sigh. You didn't want to go to the hospital… your injuries could be explained but being discovered wasn't something you could risk.
“I see… and you're not going to the hospital?” Arlo asks. You freeze. His tone is… he sounds very serious.
“Nah, my insurance is shit. I'll be fine.” You say, trying to laugh it off. By the time you saw Arlo next, you could just say that the injuries were very minor. But if he saw you now, you couldn't work your way out of answering as to why it healed so quickly.
A tense pause hung over the line. You shuffled into the bathroom, turning on the light. A few inches above your eyebrow sat a two and a half inch oblong of scraped off skin. You looked like shit: covered in dirt, exhausted, bleeding from several scrapes, and a hand-sized bruise forming over the spot you got hit with the stray chunk of debris which was still pissing blood.
“Feeling great. But I'm just tired.” You say, seething slightly as you grab a hand towel to start cleaning the wound on your head.
“I'm… I don't believe you. You sound like you're in pain, I'll be right over.” Arlo insists, quiet but determined. He hangs up before you can protest. You panic, looking around your apartment as if expecting the walls to give you answers. You take a look at yourself in the mirror again. Knowing him, he would be here in ten minutes flat.
You stumble into the shower after frantically peeling your clothes off. You didn't have much time, so you just scrub the dirt off and comb your hair before hopping out and quickly pulling pajamas on.
“Cool and casual.” You seethe to yourself, stumbling back to your bathroom. You hear a knock at the door and curse under your breath. All you can do is slap a large bandage on your fat head wound before opening the door to a disheveled Arlo. He walks in, a large paper bag cradled in one arm. You close the door behind him as he sets the back down and turns to you, his face falling.
“It's not so bad! Really, I'll be up and at ‘em the day after tomorrow!” You chirp, trying not to wince as he turns on the lights. He approaches, nervously.
“You're… really okay?” He hums, gently cupping your chin to tilt your head, examining the bandage. You murmur a soft yes. There's no use telling him not to fuss over you a bit, just to let him get it out of his system.
“You're such a mother hen. What are those groceries?” You chuckle, gesturing to the paper bag. He glances at it for only a moment.
“Some of it is.” He sighs, smoothing a soft thumb over the bandage on your forehead. You place a hand on his shoulder.
“Arlo, relax.” You say, insisting but lighthearted. He shushes you and waves you over to the couch. With no energy or room to argue, you sit, shifting to get comfortable as Arlo brings the bag over, pulling out a first aid kid.
“Oh my god, Lo, you can't be serious.” You say, trying to downplay the situation. He shoots you a glare and you pipe down. Sometimes you just have to let Arlo do his thing. He unzips the case and gets to work, gently wiping your scrapes (you didn't notice how many you had) with an alcohol wipe.
When he deems the job done, he pulls out two boxes of colorfully themed band aids, one aquarium themed and one space themed. You chuckle.
“Pick.” He says, showing the boxes to you. Somehow you already felt….better. Less scared. You pick a box and he smiles, nodding. You extend your hands to accept the box but he just tears it open and starts putting them on by himself.
“I can do it by myself.” You say, a bit embarrassed.
“I know.” He sighs, smoothing a bandaid over a particularly nasty scrape. You turn your head, trying to hide how warm your face got. Arlo has always been… reliable. You never thought too hard about it until now.
“What about you? You weren't around during the attack, right?” You ask, suddenly realizing you didn't ask. You felt a pit of guilt in your stomach. Why didn't you think to ask if he was okay?!
He pats your shoulder, smiling a bit nervously, “I'm fine… I keep my nose out of trouble unlike you.”
You sigh, rubbing your arm. You're happy he's okay. He gets to the final scrape, one on the back of your hand. After that, he just sits there, frozen, your hand resting in his. He lets out a deep sigh, pressing a kiss to the back of your hand before getting up and putting a kettle on the stove.
You stare at him quietly. He'd never really done something like that before.
“Feeling okay?” You ask. Arlo simply nods, shuffling about the kitchen. You turn the TV on, switching to the news for some background noise.
—---------
When you wake up, it's dark in the apartment. You lazily open your eyes, seeing the TV is still on, it seems Arlo switched it to a nature documentary. You can sense him sitting next to you. He isn't touching you, but you can tell he's near.
“You're awake?” His voice is hushed, barely above a breath. You nod, sitting up instead of being half slumped over. You rub your eyes, still exhausted. The documentary seems to be about baby seals.
But there's a growing pit in your stomach, thinking about Techbyte’s attack. If you had gotten hit, then…?
You pull out your phone, intending to look up what happened. But Arlo reaches his hand out, placing his palm over your screen. You glance at him, quirking an eyebrow.
“I know what you're going to do. Don't.” He hums, soft. You sigh and put the phone down.
“... Have you ever thought about taking a safer job? One that keeps you away from villains? A journalist reporting about heros that often isn't… it isn't safe.” He murmurs, soft and tense.
You glance at him. His eyebrows are furrowed, his shoulders slumped slightly.
“No can do.” You chuckle, leaning back. He side eyes you, his expression slightly pained. He just… stares at you. You turn your head to stare back.
The lights from the screen highlight his face: his soft cheekbones, his narrowed blue eyes with the ring of gold, his slightly down turned nose…
By the time you realize it's been a hearty pause, just staring at each other, the air is still.
“I care about you… I'm scared that one day that-” He stops himself, staring down at his knees, his fists clenched.
You gently place a hand on his and he turns to you, shifting to face you, taking both of your hands in his. He presses his forehead against the backs of your hands.
“I need you to be safe.” He whimpers, pained and strained. You sigh deeply. By being a vigilante, you could protect good people like him, people who might not have gotten help in time otherwise. You gently rest your forehead against the top of his head. You needed to protect Arlo. You needed to protect decent people.
“I am. Look at me I'm in one piece, no?” You hum.
He sits back up, resting his hands on your upper arms.
“No! No! I wish you'd put some more care into your life. You're…” He sighs out your name, leaning in. “You're too precious to me. Promise to be more careful.” He pleads.
You sigh, gently taking his face into your hands, smoothing your thumb over his cheek. Yes, Arlo was precious to you.
You start to tell him this before you pause.
“You have freckles… I hadn't noticed it before.” You hum, smoothing a thumb under his eye. Despite his eye bags, he has whisper-light freckles across his cheeks.
He gently cradles the back of your head, playing with the little hairs at the nape of your neck.
“... May I?” He murmurs, soft.
You tilt your head. It took you a moment to understand what he meant.
You had known Arlo for years, ever since you moved to Comet City. He was your closest friend and so dear to you…
“... You may.” You murmur, cracking a slight smile. His eyes flashed, slightly surprised. He doesn't make a move, so you do.
You close your eyes. You felt your noses brush. Then you felt his soft breath hit you, warm.
You lean in, gently pressing your lips to his. It was soft, nothing too much too quickly. You were suddenly hyper aware of Arlo in his entirety. His breathing, his soft cologne, how light his fingertips were as they found the small of your back. You raise your hand, pressing your fingertips against his jawline. The way his heart thumped like a hummingbird made you feel a bit… happy, in a way. At least you weren't the only nervous one.
When you pull away, it feels like the air is buzzing despite how chaste the kiss was.
“I'd like… to take you to dinner after you heal.” He says. You chuckle, resting your forehead against his shoulder.

#2 Digital Citizenship
What is ‘Digital Citizenship’? Digital citizenship is the ‘participation in society online: economic opportunity, democratic participation and inclusion in prevailing forms of communication’ (Mossberger et al. 2008).
As technology rises the world is becoming more and more dependent on the internet and social media for everyday life. Each platform has a unique identity in how they perform and possess certain kind of behaviours. ‘Platformization’ is “evoke language and politics of platforms to represent themselves as social utilities …” (Gillespie 2010; McCosker 2016). However, within the platforms there is unity being able to talk to each other and to share opinions, thoughts, and many more.

Social media has influenced and is being heavily used by everyone all around the world. Politicians and members are using these platforms as part of campaigning and communicating. “Twitter as a political space in which idea, issues, and policies are discussed and debated between politicians and constituents …” (Nelimsrkka, Laaksonen, Tuokko, Valkonen, p.2, 2020). During political campaigns it is important for the politicians to have a web presence so they can reach out to the community easier and talk about issues to the voters. Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders used twitter to attack on each other and use twitter to raise up issues. “Politicians using social media to further the political discussion is working …” (→, 2017). Politicians using twitter or any other social media platforms can be both positive and negative however is it a great way to express and debate issues and be more involved with the community is by having more of a social media presence.
Not only has there been a rise in the political sphere utilising the twitter platform but in the music industry Soundcloud and Bandcamp has been both growing music platforms and are being used by the general public. These two music platforms allow musicians, commentators and more to upload music and tunes on there and the community can listen to for free. “The appeal to SoundCloud has been stimulated by stories of the platform’s role in enabling ordinary users to achieve success and fame.” (Hemondhalgh, Jones, Rauh, p.2, 2019). Many of the well-known artists such as Lorde, Billie Eilish, Post Malone and many more who have now successfully become big in the music industry. This platform is a great way to explore different artists and by supporting them with being within the digital space. Since this platform is a free space is allowing the public to participate in this online society.
