@lcsthings asked:
☁ for a random headcanon about our muses / for joker :0 obvi this doesn’t have to be romantic
You get more than one because my brain said so--
Joker is the only person Kat’s cabin is never locked to. While she might want her privacy from others, Kat knows that if Joker takes the time to hobble up to her cabin, she’s not locking the goddamn door, because it’s probably serious.
She actually likes his sense of humour, though she’s sometimes stoic about it. In a lot of cases she’ll note he’s earned the right for a few bad jokes, but she welcomes it to a degree; his humour helps alleviate tension and keeps people from getting too tense in situations. If he’s not careful, though, she may give as good as she gets...
She never once blamed him for her death. She understood his attachment and understood that, under the immense pressure of the situation, thinking straight is difficult. Compared to her, he wasn’t really trained for that type of scenario—it’s in a lot of ways outside the scope of his job as a pilot—and she knew it was her job to make sure as many people got out safely, not his. For her, it was a relief to see him after she woke up; she was glad that his was the first truly friendly and welcoming face (sorry Tali) that she saw.

thinkin abt how dragons are represented onsite recently vs in the past what with regards to anthropomorphism and
yknow what that's what polls are for innit
*that's counting all moderns + abbys, gaolers, veilspun - simplifying a bit so that i don't have to think abt whether stuff like coatl tail wings technically count. basically i mean those with one pair of forelimbs, hindlimbs, & wings & nothing else that would rly affect locomotion

firmly aware that this is extremely niche but.
hey there grishaverse fandom, would anyone be interested in reading an au in which the darkling got less villainous and more properly morally ambiguous (and not crazy) some time pre-alina and actually became the person some of us thought he was in book 1? ft. reworked merzost, different ending for the alina trilogy and admittedly a lot of OCs (none of which date the darkling, he's aroace in this which means there's no romantic darklina)
(and in case you are interested, it's not ready yet but it is being written👀👀)

one of the coolest (and tragically useless) abilities in dai is the haste spell that’s a character specific focus ability for dorian where you essentially freeze time for a couple of seconds, which is a fun throwback to the first story mission you play with him, where you both escape a time loop that dorian’s former teacher made with a specific kind of time travel magic that dorian helped him create. it’s a nice little bit of gameplay that interacts with the narrative and character writing, where you can see all the nuances of dorian’s character through the way he fights, the fact that he both rejects his homeland and carries a part of it with him at all times. and in da2 that same ability is a level 1 support spell that makes all characters go kinda fast, which is also pretty neat

some of the knock-on effects of giving lyssa what she wanted is that in this new timeline, cherie doesnt join the nine. not because she has morals or anything ridiculous like that, but she has a low level brute rating and some other thinker senses to help her get by (though in terms of range and ‘honing in on pursuers’ they are far less useful), and also is aware that there is the uncomfortably real chance that if she tried to join the nine, it would end with bonesaw pulling her apart for study. this is a good thing, bc if she tried to join the nine she would find out that lyssa has a History there.
also alec isnt as physiologically burnt out, and at least a few of the problems with his canon childhood were partially mitigated, but on the other hand he is even more psychologically traumatized in new and exciting ways. and also, possibly, technically a tinker? just a little bit. doesnt know what to believe re lyssas batshit claims but either way has even more secrets to hide. also, sometimes pretends to be dead for various reasons and is alarmingly convincing at it.
