Technoblade and the voices have always been together. None of the Voices could remember a time when they were not with Techno. Always with him on his ventures and battles. Through the good and the bad times. They were even there when he met the famous adventurer, known as the Angel of Death, who was known as the mate of the Goddess Death herself, followed by crows. They were there as a close friendship was struck and bonds grew. Surprisingly, while only Techno was the only one to ever hear the Voices, the crows of the Angel could as well. The Voices and the Crows became close, which sometimes meant Techno now had a flock of crows following him along too.

(Or Phil's Crows and Techno's Voices get into some mischeif that run Phil and Techno on an adventure they never thought they would ever have.) (I don't know how to summariese this one. I've had it on my computer for a while now.)

My 50 cents: Haven't really followed DSMP, but I absolutely adore everything to do with emerald duo. For a long time, they were my go to comfort platonic soulmates :) Even now, they hold a special part in my 💛 The fic captures their personality beautifuly, the writing is really good and engaging, and there is WHUMP ;)

He knew it was coming.

He knew he couldn’t run from it forever.

It had taken his mother, his brothers, his friend, and now it would take him.

There was a chill settling into his bones, a slowness that was overtaking his body.

And he would be lying if he said it didn’t scare him. All the stories he had heard of the afterlife seemed bleak and cold. But too many good men had fallen from trying to stop the inevitable, so Technoblade decided he would just get his affairs in order and enjoy the remaining moments he had.

In reality, it was time. Technoblade had long over-served his purpose on the Dream SMP, fighting other people’s wars and trying to take down the governments. He had succeeded in destroying L’manburg, and for the most part he seemed to have instilled enough fear of government in the people that there would never be a L’manburg again. The syndicate would see to that long after Techno was gone.

And despite claiming to not do friendship, Techno had build a family somewhere along the way. Something beyond his blood brothers, something deeper and more personal. Philza had given him friendship, Nikki had taught him bravery, and Ranboo….. well Ranboo taught Technoblade how to love, what it felt to care for someone outside of yourself.

It had started snowing as Technoblade bid Philza farewell one night, having spent the evening laughing and spending time with one another. With Philza in his adjoined house, Technoblade settled into a chair by his fireplace. He looked around the room, seeing all the hard work he had put into his life, and he felt proud. Steve wandered over and placed his head on Technoblade’s lap, his large, dark eyes finding Techno’s.

“What a time we’ve had old friend.” Technoblade softly said, running his hand over Steve’s furry head.

Technoblade’s eyes grew weary with sleep, and so he leaned back into his chair, allowing the warmth to consume him.

When Technoblade awoke, he was standing in a field of flowers.

No steve, no house, just large stretches of flowers everywhere.

Bees flew from flowers to their hive, bumping and dancing around each other. Somewhere in the distance fish swam through the river, passing by squids as they coasted along the bottom. A baby fox rushed past, some sort of treasure latched firmly between its jaws. There was an unusual sense of peace, a calm that Technoblade had not known in a very long time.

There were no voices in his head.

Looking around, Technoblade saw a large tree in the distance, throwing shade over a dark figure. As he drew closer, he saw that the dark figure was a woman, dressed in a long, black dress and a wide brim hat of the same color. A veil covered her face, but in an instant Technoblade felt peace as he recognition flooded through him.

“Hello my darling, I’ve been waiting for you.” Pulling back the veil from her face, she looked up with a large, warm smile.

“Hello mumza.” Gently Technoblade sat down next to his mother, leaning his back against the tree.

She took her son’s hand into her own, gently rubbing her thumb in circles on the back of it. “I had hoped to give you more time, but it seems that your work was done.”

Technoblade leaned down and rested his head against his mother’s shoulder, feeling comforted by her presence. “I did everything that I could, but I’m afraid I failed you.”

Mumza placed a hand on Technoblade’s cheek, making him look at her. “No, no you have not failed my son. You…” She paused for a moment, taking in the sight of her fully grown son, no longer a young, sensitive boy, but a weathered, battle-hardened man. “You did the best you could, and I am so proud of you. You have played the game well.”

Smiling, Technoblade looked back out over the field. “What do I do now?”

“You will find the answer to that soon. You had a purpose in your mortality, and you will find purpose again here. For now, you simply allow yourself to be. Well, except for your new visitor, who is very excited to see you.”

Following his mother’s gaze, Technoblade saw a half white, half black person running towards him. Getting up, he ran towards the person, pushing himself to go and get to him faster. The two collided in the middle, wrapping their arms around each other tightly. Technoblade felt happiness surge through him, just seeing his old friend alive healing the guilt he had been carrying from his death for so long.

Pulling apart, both men kept their hands on each other’s shoulders, just taking in each other.

“I am so sorry Ranboo, I should’ve saved you.”

“There was nothing you could do, you tried your best. Besides, I am at peace here, I am free from the pain that I had back there.”

Technoblade nodded, as he was already beginning to understand what Ranboo meant. Ranboo had begun to list off the various people and things he wanted to show and introduce Technoblade too, but Technoblade’s focus was in the sky.

A bright, fiery sunset, leaving pink streaks across the sky. In his heart, Technoblade knew it would be the same one that his living friends saw in their sky. He wondered if Philza knew, if the word of him being gone had passed around the smp yet. Yet, deep down, Technoblade knew that they were alright. After all, they were much stronger than they knew, and they would continue on to do great things. Technoblade was proud of them, and he always would be.

A hand on Technoblade’s shoulder aroused him out of his thoughts, and he turned to see his mother smiling at him.

“Rest with peace, Technoblade.”
