Submitter's note: Though initially released into relative obscurity even in its native India way back in 1982, this album is an extremely forward-thinking one featuring then-cutting edge technology. Specifically, its use of the Roland TB-303 bass synthesizer predates the machine's mass adoption in genres like Acid House, and even makes use of some techniques that later Acid acts like Phuture and Hardfloor would employ (though notably , not the wild filter tweaking that would lead to it producing squelching and warping sounds). It isn't quite 'early acid house' music itself, despite being touted as such, sitting closer to early electropop/technopop in style. Aurora Memoria: Philosophical Data Session 2093 by DV-i Spotify / Soundcloud / Youtube Second album in, and I've already accidentally hit mixed media. DV-i has been on my radar a while now, and I'd listened to Perpetual more times than I can shake a stick at, so naturally seing this as the first visible (to me) full length release, I'd go with that, since that's the point of this blog and all. It is, in actual fact, the OST for a visual novel of the same name, which does explain some of the titles of some of the tracks. Whoulda thunkit.

I might get round to playing the VN one day, but I won't be including it here.

ROSS KOSHERTON BIOGRAPHY - (English)

Ross Kosherton is a pianist, event promoter, graphic designer, makeup artist, and audiovisual producer since 1997. His compositions are inspired by pioneers like Kraftwerk and Jean-Michel Jarre, and genres like Italo Disco, Synthpop, Ebm, and Synthwave, showing Ross's love for synthetic music in its purest expression.

Additionally, Ross is responsible for the computer graphics design (2D-3D), video production, lighting design, costume design, and construction of the scenic universe that governs all his live shows.

For 25 years, Ross Kosherton is a surprise in itself. In a world where the music has become predictable, Ross presents himself as a fresh alternative.

Although synthetic, of course.

Mioko Yamaguchi has always been excellent, always. One of the key innovators and foremothers of techno-pop-slash-kayō, her initial three-album run exhibits synthpop’s marvels in all its forms; vast and rich caverns of echo, inexorably addictive melodies, a broad capacity for all kinds of song structures. Decades later Yamaguchi is still regularly, reliably spectacular – arguably no other Japanese synthpop artist has remained so imperial within the genre as her.
