𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 He loves sharing self-care nights (sleepovers) with you Molly and Gio, you guys just put on face-masks and gossip about anything that happened recently.

𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Sometimes if Phoenica and Trixie tag along he might also show off his epithet by summoning sheep you can use as pillows or cuddle buddies, he might start bragging so it's up to you to smack his forehead and get him to behave.

𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 It takes a while for him to warm up to the idea of doing more "childish" things around you but once you gain his full trust he'll slowly start loosening up around you.

𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Like Molly you also get offered a free therapy session if needed, he is one to check in regularly with his friends to make sure they are mentally doing alright.

𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Will look to you and Molly for help when Giovanni teases him, his pathetic wet cat expression is priceless. Help the peepee boy out.

𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Whenever he can he'll sneak Molly a healthy snack bar in her hoodie's pocket to make sure she still gets at least some food in, does the same to you (he tried doing it for Giovanni too but either he didn't notice them until they were all melted or he said they weren't "crunchy enough")

𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 For the love of all that is holy do not play chess with him, card games like Uno are fine but do not play chess with him.

𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Secretly wouldn't mind watching anime together with you and the others, is just too ashamed to admit it, if you make the proposition though he will scoff and say "he doesn't have the heart to refuse, even if it might be considered a childish thing to do."

Text on Az's side: That quip from the lawyothers about Blake's inheritance being a purposeful orchestration is 'kinda nifty. Molly aside, it's pretty interesting to consider how other heirs would've dealt with things, with or without vestige-assistance. Or maybe even like, if they'll join in later down the line? Battle of the Mansion 'kinda deal? Irene's side of the family is a total dead-end considering the enchantress but it'd be cool for Paul's side to get in on the fun (I mean, what karma does Blake even have left to lose, introducing 15 people to the practice?)

The Ultimate Heartbreak (JJ Maybank x Reader)

summary: two life long best friends fall in love and break up. both suffer heartbreak but one suffers the ultimate heartbreak.

a/n: this is my FIRST fanfic so I’m learning! This is suppose to be influenced by the song Molly by Lil Dicky ft. Brendon Urie! I hope you enjoy! <3 If you enjoy, please feel free to send in requests! (: 

You and the pogues were at John B’s, per usual. Kie was laying out in the hammock while John B and Pope were talking on the front porch. You all had just gotten back from spending the day on the water and surfing. However, while the day had seemed great, there was tension between you and JJ, everyone could notice and feel it. In fact, that’s what you and JJ were doing down by the dock- arguing.

“What the hell is your problem?” You asked your boyfriend of two years now. You’ve known each other your entire lives, you guys were known by everyone to be inseparable.

“I just can’t take it anymore! Okay?” JJ shouts, being frustrated. You could feel your eyes starting to water.

“Take what anymore JJ?” You ask, looking at him.

JJ takes a minute before looking back at you. He knows you like the back of his hand. He knows what you don’t like, what you love, what your triggers are, what scares you, he knows whenever you’re feeling down or when something is bothering you- without you having to say anything. He knows that what he’s about to say will break your heart. JJ was always there for you, picking you back up whenever your heart was broken, and he never thought in a million years that he’d be breaking it.

“Us! Okay? I can’t take us anymore.” JJ admits.

You take a step away from JJ, your tears starting to spill. You felt your heart shatter in your chest. Out of everyone, you never thought that your best friend, your boyfriend, your person, would break your heart.

“You don’t mean that JJ...” You barely make out.

“I do Y/N. I’m sorry but I do. All we do now is argue and fight. Shit, I mean we’re still lucky that our friends want us around and to still be around us in general. We’ve had our moments before, but we’ve never had this many problems Y/N. I’m sorry…”

You couldn’t say much of anything.

“So, this is it, huh?”

“I guess so Y/N. Yeah.” JJ says to you as he begins to walk pass you and back up to his friends.

“JJ, please don’t do this. I need you…I love you!” You make out towards him, him just turning around giving you one last glance before walking pass his friends and into John B’s.

A year has passed since you and JJ had your final argument and broke up. Things have been very different, and nothing was really the same. You were still a pogue, but you really couldn’t be around JJ. It hurt too much, and it was just awkward now. So, most of the time Kie would hang out with you while the boys did their own thing- you would occasionally see John B and Pope and the only time you were all together were at keggers. And there was one tonight.

You and Kie were in your room getting ready for the kegger. You had just finished putting on your ripped jean shorts, a fitting white tank top over your black bikini top, and your black vans.

“Kie, I don’t know if I can go…” You turn to Kie.

“Why? What’s wrong?” She asked you in return.

“I’m not sure. Something just feels off…” You look at Kie, worry in your eyes. Little did you know that while you were getting ready, Kie got a text from John B saying that “We need to talk” meaning: Kie, John B, JJ, and Pope.

“Y/N, it’s a kegger. I’m sure it’ll all be fine! We love keggers!” Kiara reassures you.

“Okay, fine…let’s go!” You smile, heading out the door to go to the kegger.

Arriving at the kegger, you and Kie see some of your friends, kooks, and then Pope and John B. Drinks in hand, you both walk over to John B and Pope, greeting them with hugs.

“You guys staying out of trouble?” You ask your friends.

“I mean, are we really ever out of trouble?” John B responds, gaining a laugh from everyone in your friend group, your pogues.

“Hey, I actually need a refill. Anyone else need one?” You ask. You’re not really a drinker but considering that you were nervous before coming, you tried to make the nerves go away as quickly as possible.

“I could actually use one! Thanks Y/N/N.” John B takes your offer. With that, you walk away, back towards the entrance.

“Where’s JJ?” Kie asked Pope and John B while you stepped away. “And what was up with that text that you sent?”

John B grabs Kie by her shoulders, causing her to focus on him and him only. Pope is keeping his eye out for you to return.

“JJ will be here later. He’s back at the house and he actually did something…very life changing…” Kie just looks at him, confused, telling him to finish. “JJ proposed to Riley, so they are back at the house, you know probably having sex. I mean, it’s JJ we’re talking about.”

“WHAT?!” Kie yelled, John B quickly covering her mouth.

“Y/N can’t find out!”

“He’s so stupid! He broke things off with Y/N- someone he has known his entire life- just to go and potentially marry a girl he BARELY knows?!”

JJ met Riley towards the end of your relationship. He met her at a kegger and had kept in touch. She was a local, but she went to a different school than you guys. He never cheated on you but with how things were between you all, Riley became his new ecstasy, his serotonin.

“Guys! She’s coming back, chill out!” Pope whisper yelled, gaining John B and Kiara’s attention.

“Here you go John B, one Mai-Tai!”

“Thanks Y/N/N!”

From a far, Kiara notices JJ making his way down the beach, to the kegger, to you guys. She quickly chugs the rest of her beer, especially now knowing the stuff she knows now.

“Hey Y/N! I need another, will you come with me?” Kiara asks you.

“Um, sure Kie!” Before you can say anything else, Kiara pulls you away.

Minutes later you and Kiara return, and you notice JJ. All you can do is give him a small wave and shy smile. He does the same. You and JJ are okay, honestly but after everything you both have been through it’s obviously not going to be the same.

For the rest of the night, you and the pogues hung out, laughing with one another. For just a little bit, it felt like the old days, which were nice.

“Hey! So, I hear Midsummers is coming up soon, are you all planning some kind of disaster?” You ask your group of friends.

“My dad and I will be there with the oysters.” Pope tells you.

“You know that we have to go…” Kiara sighs, looking at you.

You and Kiara have both of your feet in Pogue life and Kook life.

“I heard that they were changing the time though. Apparently, someone has a wedding there too, on the same day so Midsummers will last a bit longer and later.”

“Oh really? I haven’t heard that yet!” Kiara states, looking oddly between JJ, John B, and Pope.

“Yeah! My mom told me this morning. Apparently, the couple said something about when you know the right person, there’s no time to waste.”

Kiara just chugs the rest of her beer, again.

After having small talk for the rest of the kegger, Kiara walks you home and then heads back over to the chateau, calling it a night.

Days later, it was already time for Midsummers.

You had just finished getting ready in your lilac, silk dress. Your hair was lightly curled and all you had on for makeup was mascara and a little bit of lip gloss. Finally, making your way downstairs to your older brother and parents.

“Is everyone ready to go?” Your dad asked his family.

“What’s the rush?” You ask.

“There are a few things that we need to go finish up.”

“Isn’t there a wedding starting in a little bit?” You ask again.

“Yeah, there is but they aren’t having the reception at the club afterwards. They can’t due to Midsummers.”

You didn’t ask anymore questions. You and your family just made your way to the car, heading off to the biggest kook party of the summer.

Making your way into the country club, you’re welcomed by other kooks that your family knows and then the Cameron’s. You say a quick hello, quickly walking away afterwards.

“Hey! I saw Pope outside!” Your brother informs you.

“Oh yeah! Him and Heyward are here with their oysters for Midsummers!”

Um, Pope was dressed up and I saw him talking to Kiara and John B.”

Confused, you don’t say anything else and make your way to the pogues.

“Hm, funny seeing you here John B…” You joke as you alert everyone with your presence. They don’t think you realized but you see all of them look awkwardly at each other and not making eye contact with you.

“Y/N/N… what are you doing here?” John B asks, acting dumb.

“Um, it’s Midsummers? Why are you here? And why is Pope all dressed up?”

Before anyone could say anything, the voice you hear from behind you sends chills all throughout your body.

“Alright everybody! Everything is almost ready to go!” JJ alerts his friends, not even realizing that you are also standing with the pogues.

You turn around, your eyes seeing JJ in a tux and then meeting his. You’re speechless. Everything is almost ready to go replays in your mind. JJ wearing a tux. Everyone is frozen still. Kiara grabs your hand. Your tears are on the verge of falling but instead, you show all your friends the biggest fake smile you possibly could, squeezing Kiara’s hand.

“I knew there was a wedding... I told all of you about it. I just had no idea that it was your wedding…” You quickly wipe a tear that had slipped and looked right at JJ. “I’m happy for you J, really. I’m glad that you found your person…” Another fake smile.

“Y/N… Thank you, really. I’m sorry that you had to find out this way.”

“I’m sorry that I found out at all…” You make eye contact with JJ, your eyes glistening due to tears that are waiting to flow. JJ swallows, knowing that he deserves that from you. He did break your heart, not once but twice now. Without saying or doing anything else, you let go of Kie’s hand and immediately hug JJ, regardless of what you just said to him. It takes him a minute, due to being shocked but he instantly hugs you back. If you could stay like this forever, you would. As you’re hugging, all your memories of you and JJ, good and bad flash through your mind and you’re hoping the same is happening to him.

A moment or two go by and you pull away. Quickly wiping a tear, again. You latch on to Kie’s hand again, just like before.

“Here, let’s go… you can be my plus one.” Kiara attempts to make you feel better.

John B and Pope make their way through the double doors, you and Kiara following. Before you walk through the door, you glance at JJ one more time, showing him a weak smile before heading in to sit front row at your worst nightmare.

It wasn’t long until JJ walked in, now waiting for his bride. You can’t keep your eyes off him and at the same time, you’re trying to hold back your tears. I guess one slipped because Kie’s thumb on your cheek made you jump a little. Sharing a small, weak smile with Kie, you grab her hand tighter and lay your head on her shoulder.

A few moments go by, and music starts. Everyone stands, giving their attention to Riley. As she’s walking down the aisle, you turn to look at JJ who is already looking at you. You know him too well, the way he’s looking at you, you know he’s seeking your approval before his life changes forever.

Deep down, you’re not okay and if you could be walking down the aisle to your person, to JJ, you 100% would be. However, you look at him, and as much as it hurts, you gently nod your head ‘yes’- telling your person that it’s okay. JJ is happy, even though it may not be with you, he’s happy and all you care about is him being happy, out of everyone, he deserves to be happy the most. Looking in his eyes, you see that he’s very sorry that all of this turned out the way that it did but there’s nothing to do now.

Riley made her way to JJ; everyone is now seated. Vows are being exchanged and you are trying to control your feelings and your breathing. Not once did you let go of Kie’s hand.

“You may now kiss your bride.”

And right then, not only did JJ’s life change forever but so did yours. The ultimate heartbreak.

“Really wish that I didn't care about you anymore But I do Make a young couple do something sad like Being broke up even though we had life”

So I’ve heard differing arguments relating to it, ranging from “Well, if we shun content created by this person and/or everyone who’s done anything problematic, that’s a slippery slope that’ll lead to us being unable to enjoy anything” to “It doesn’t matter if you can separate the author from their creation to an extent, there’s ultimately other content to be consumed, & shunning the work of the problematic author in order to deny them or their progeny traffic is more important than salvaging

2/4 said author’s work.” Pablo Neruda, Yukio Mishima, & JK Rowling are authors that come to mind in these discussions. (For example, I’ve seen several SPOP edits ft. Pablo Neruda’s love poetry, & when his problematic history was explained to one creator, they cited death of the author.) Another argument against the concept, or rather, against how the concept is often applied, that I see is that people cite it in order to uncritically consume whatever they want.

3/4 Yet others say that people who say this often take the concept too far, to the point where no one can enjoy anything, ever, unless they’re obsessively analyzing every last detail of something for potential problematic tropes or other problematic content. I just don’t know where I fall, because I both agree and disagree with various parts of these stances, but see how all could be taken too far and used poorly, if that’s a sensible way of wording it. But I don’t know what dictates “too

4/4 far”, so I’ve never voiced a definitive opinion on the matter. I hope this makes sense, it’s a bit more jumbled than I had intended.

death of the author is such an interesting concept, purely bc how it was MEANT to be used and how it has come to be used are so different. for transparency, death of the author is a lens of examining a piece of work which states that the author’s original intent does not matter, that the metatextual elements of a work do not have any bearing on what is actually present in the text.

to use an example, fans of spop will likely know that adora and catra are at least somewhat inspired by noelle stevenson’s own relationship. since we know this, we can see this in the text. the more you know about noelle and molly, the more you can see what parts of their relationship influenced those characters. we don’t have to guess that catradora is meant to be viewed in a positive light - we’re told by the showrunner itself it should be. if we were to apply death of the author, though, we would ignore this. it is not written explicitly in the text, and is therefore metatextual. we can still come to the same conclusion based on information within the show itself, but we would not use that “word of god” type of information.

and you can do this with basically anything. an artist said their song is about romantic love, but you see it as platonic love? claim death of the author! once it’s out in the world, it’s up to the audience to decide what a piece means.

now, here’s where it gets tricky: you can’t just ignore bigotry in a piece, even if you are applying death of the author. let’s look at hp lovecraft for this one. anyone with even passing knowledge of lovecraftian horror will know that the main element of it is fear of the unknown. sure, there’s many ways you can interpret that within the text! but fact of the matter is that lovecraft was a horrible xenophobic racist. and knowing that, it becomes very hard to separate the “fear of the unknown” in lovecraft’s work from real world xenophobia. you can still claim that within the text you interpret it differently, sure. but you can’t go so far as to pretend the intent isn’t there. the author’s interpretation doesn’t have to be yours, but it’s impossible to separate the author’s worldview from the text - it’s baked in.

okay, so, interpret however you want, but acknowledge prejudice. easy enough. until we get to the elephant in the room, joanne rowling herself. now, we know she has horrible ideas baked into her text. but that doesn’t necessarily mean we throw it all away, right? after all, people still love lovecraft’s work, and he was horrible. there’s an entire horror genre coined after the man. if we don’t throw lovecraft away, why throw joanne away? and the big difference there is that...joanne is alive. and wealthy. with friends in high places. and a large public following. even when he was alive, lovecraft didn’t exactly have millions of followers on twitter. pablo neruda and yukio mishima were not good people, but again, also dead and not with the same level of power. meanwhile joanne is actively using her wealth and following to influence british lawmakers.

and here’s where people lose death of the author. bc yes, you can still examine harry potter however you want. you can still say the books were an influence or that they meant something to you. but you cannot use “death of the author” to substitute an answer to a moral dilemma. and the moral dilemma is simply that supporting joanne, be it by word of mouth or monetarily, is supporting her ability to spread transphobia. this is why we see a more active push than usual to stop consuming hp and related rowling works. the driving force is not just “thing bad”, but the active harm joanne is causing to trans people in the uk.

so, what does that all mean? basically, use death of the author responsibly. you don’t have to toss out every single problematic work ever penned. if we did that, we wouldn’t have much left, and the foundations upon which modern media were built would be gone. but, you also can’t say that you don’t have to acknowledge biases and prejudice in media. bc you still do. there’s not a filmmaker in hollywood who can claim they’re not using some amount of technique pioneered by alfred hitchcock, but we also can’t pretend like “psycho” didn’t have transphobic undertones. it’s possible to both appreciate “psycho” for its importance to film history AND acknowledge those problematic elements without beating them to death.

basically, if you’re thinking of applying death of the author, you need to ask yourself two questions:

-am i using this to analyze the work, or am i trying to make myself feel better? -is my consumption of this work allowing the creator to cause harm?

if you’re trying to make yourself feel better, you don’t need death of the author; being aware of the problems within the work is sufficient. and if your answer to the second question is “yes”, that’s when you need to wonder if your consumption of said work is really more important than the harm you may be inadvertently causing.

bc it feels wrong to not include them, lindsay ellis has two wonderful videos on death of the author, which i will link to below (as well as a video on transphobia in pop culture, which i sort of touched on here, that helps give a better sense of how you can consume and even admire problematic media while acknowledging its flaws)

tldr: death of the author is a great tool to analyze media, but all too often gets used as an answer to a moral dilemma when that was never its intended purpose. you can invoke death of the author without ignoring problematic elements of a work, you don’t have to self-flagellate over said problematic elements, but be aware of if your consumption of a work causes active harm to people.

1. insaneintherainmusic - “Pollyanna (from ‘MOTHER’)” I first got into insaneintherainmusic because they did a whole album of undertale jazz covers that i found somehow or other and fell in love with because of course I did. Now Spotify recommends jazz covers of video game music to me on the regular. Anyway this particular song is stimmy as fuck. The horns, man. THE HORNS

2. Bruce Springsteen - “Sherry Darling” As mentioned in another text post, I deeply want to play this song on bass. Also sometimes in my imagination I am playing it with MCR and I am playing the sax part on the violin.

3. Fastball - “Out Of My Head” Sometimes a song can have just one verse and the merest wisp of a bridge and achieve moderate success solely by virtue of a really fucking good chorus and you know what? That’s valid.

4. Jukebox The Ghost - “Everybody Knows” Oh my fucking god you guys. I had this song on almost constant repeat for weeks. It feels so perfectly tailored to my specific musical taste that I am almost angry about it. The guitar solo alone, I mean, jesus. also the line “i only breathe the air to keep you inside” is begging to be used as the title for an omegaverse fic sorry not sorry

5. Sponge - “Molly 86″ This is a different version of a song called “Sixteen Candles (Molly),” which I’ve loved since high school. This one is newer to me but I think I like it better? My tastes have gotten poppier in my old age.

6. MIKA - “Grace Kelly” I extremely want to do a drag routine to this song.

7. The Struts - “Could Have Been Me” This one got thrown at me by a radio station or a daily mix or something and I’unno, I’m a sucker for a grandiose chorus.

Jukebox The Ghost - “Everybody’s Lonely” This was the song that made me go “oh shit this band is really good actually” after having gotten “Hold It In” on one Discover Weekly playlist after another and failing to be charmed by it (you’d think I would be, what with that title, but). 9. Louie Zong ft. Brian David Gilbert - “Thumbnail” Did you know BDG has a very pretty singing voice? It’s true.

10. Steve Forbert - “Romeo’s Tune” This is a Snufkin/Moomintroll song. I am not accepting constructive criticism at this juncture

11. Toploader - “Dancing in the Moonlight” I think I actually like the cover and the King Harvest original an equal amount. Also the bit in TUA where Luther and Allison danced to this song was like 90% of the reason I was like “ok sure” about them instead of being grossed out.

12. AWOLNATION ft. Rivers Cuomo - “Pacific Coast Highway In The Movies” That entire Rivers Cuomo verse makes me think of Bertie Wooster because of reasons. Also the line “give me shiny things to stop my tears”? mmmmm. I like that line.

13. Wings - “Band On The Run” Sometimes a song gets so perniciously stuck in your head that you HAVE to listen to it in order to exorcise it. Sometimes that happens more often with a particular song than I would like. Other than that, I have no excuse for this.

14. Mondo Cozmo - “Upside Down” Another one that just got flung at me by the algorithm and stuck. I know nothing about it other than it’s catchy.

16. Colin Hay - “Now And The Evermore” One of the perks of having listened to the Scrubs soundtrack a whole bunch is that sometimes you get things like this in your Release Radar playlists. This made me cry the first time I heard it.

27. Bleachers - “Goodbye” This whole album, but especially this song in particular, makes me incredibly homesick for Ypsilanti.

Note: chapter 2 of Somewhere in Stockholm sorry this took awhile. I’m refreshed I took a holiday to Stockholm so I have some new inspiration. Ft Alex Nylander (sorry about the weird formatting I’m trying to fix it atm)

Maggie stood outside a yellow painted apartment block on a deserted quiet street. She stared at the buzzers until she found the one labelled Altelius . A small buzzer sounded, She pushed the door and found herself in a small but grand hallway with a large chandelier and a grand staircase. Damn this was fancy and this was his second home where he only came in the off season?

She hauled her suitcase up the flights of stairs Stopping on the fourth floor and a white doors with the numbers ninety written on it, she knocked on the door and waited. It was opened by a young blonde boy, he had a half asleep expression on his face, wearing only a pair of sweatpants and was mid way through brushing his teeth. “Hi, i’m Maggie?” she said unsure.

“Sorry wrong flat” he said or at least that is what she thought he said before slamming the door in her face.Maggie stood there stunned for a moment unsure what to think apart from she must have been at the wrong place, but Will had definitely text her flat ninety. She knocked again. This time she could hear from inside the flat two boys arguing in Swedish. The door eventually opened again but this time, a different blonde answered the door and Maggie swore her heart skipped a beat. This guy was handsome, tall, Blue eyes a flow of long blonde hair and was naked from the waist up and from what she could see this guy was ripped. Suddenly she understood Morgan’s warning. Oh boy she was in trouble. “Hi I’m Maggie,” She said a little unsure. Her cheeks burning. “Ah Maggie, Mo’s erm friend, hi,I’m Willy ” he said pulling her in for a hug and Maggie had never felt more awkward. Why had he said friend like that? Also she was hugging a topless stranger in a hallway and damn how ripped what this dude? “Come in,” he said grinning, he grabbing her suitcase and pulling it in.“You don’t have to do that, its ok, it’s kind of heavy,” she said trying to pull it off him but in the process losing the tug of war, I mean duh, he was a pro athlete. “It’s okay, hey Alex come say hey,” he yelled out. The younger boy from earlier returned into the hallway still only wearing his sweatpants. What was up with these boys? Was wearing clothes optional or something? If so she was not going to complain. “Eh?” the younger boy Alex asked.“We have a guest young Nylander,”Will said hitting his brother over the head. Alex turned to stare at Maggie “Oh hi, sorry I erm slammed the door in your face,” he said and she got the feeling Alex Nylander didn’t like her very much. “Its okay,” she spluttered still distracted by the two blondes. She could feel her cheeks flushing. “We’ve had a couple of fans turn up to our flat recently, so now we’re a bit wary,hence the name change on the buzzer to Altelius instead of Nylander,”. “Oh wow, people really do that,” “Yeah, I had a grandma chase me down the road last week,” Will joked at least she thought he was. She really couldn’t tell.“So you can take my room it’s just through here,” Will said pointing to the door “Oh,”. “Something wrong?” He asked running his hands through his hair. Something she found very distracting. “I mean I know Morgan said your a bit of a charmer but I think you got me a bit wrong,I can’t share a bed, with you I don’t know you and” Maggie blabbered nervously . He stopped her and laughed “Chill Maggie, I’ll sleep on the sofa, I’m not trying to, wait what did Mo say about me?” He asked with a cheeky grin and a laugh. “Oh nothing,” she said suddenly turning red as a tomato. He gave her the full tour of the place, kitchen, living room, a swish bathroom which was all in true scandivanian style and looked like it had come straight out of an ikea catalogue. He showed her Alex’s room which looked chaotic. Clothes all overspilling from his suitcase and cans of red bull dotted around any available surface, papers haphazardly piled on the desk in the corner.When Maggie was finally led into William’s room she was surprised at the contrast of the two brother’s rooms. She surveyed the room around her, double bed with grey sheets, a bedside cabinet, the room was clean and sparse like no-one really lived in this room apart from a few personal items. A blue maple leafs duffle bag identical to the one, she had seen at Morgan’s place. Beside the bed was a photo of she assumed his family given they all looked identical, blonde hair blue eyed, mum, sisters, Alex and a bald man who he guessed must of been his dad. Apart from that the room didn’t seem very lived in. Maggie flopped down on the bed, picking up her phone to text her family to let them all know she was safe.

To: Mom

From: Maggie

Hey Mom just telling you know, I arrived in Stockholm. I’ll call you in a couple of days love you! M x

Then she quickly typed out a message to Morgan.

To: Mo Bro

From: Maggie

Made it safely to Willy’s of course I’ve embarrassed myself already. Also does erm Willy think clothes are something optional?

Her phone pinged back immediately.

To: Maggie

From: Mo Bro

Oh no what did you do? I forgot to warn you about that, he is very liberal with clothing must be a European thing. He walks around half naked at lot at the rink. You get used to it. X

She was pulled out of her daze by Will wandering into the room, who was thankfully now wearing a t-shirt. “Hey,” he said smiling widely “So i’m not sure if you had anything planned whilst you were here but me and Alex were going to and watch the Eurovision later, if you want to come, there doing this big event in Kungsträdgården Park” Willy asked sitting down on the bed. “Sure I’ve never seen the eurovision before,”

“Your in for a treat then,” he said and she could have sworn he winked at her. Was William Nylander flirting with her? She sat on the bed, she had only just met this guy. She had met a fair few hockey boys growing up and being friends with one and she had sworn off dating hockey players after learning the hard way with Leo Mustang the star player for the Giants in Vancouver. She had met him through Morgan and despite his warning she had dated him anyway something which backfired massively on her later when he brutally dumped her for a hotter skinner blonde girl at a party in front of all of his friends. The only saving grace was that Morgan had been there to pick her up and defend her. Like the true best friend he was. He hadn’t ever once told her I told you so even though she knew he was thinking it. She loved Morgan for that. An hour later Maggie had showered, power nap and was ready to go out on a new adventure. William effortlessly weaved through the winding streets of the buildings were coloured white, yellows and reds. Maggie looked around in joy. There was nothing like this at home. This place was beautiful. “I don’t understand the deal with this Eurovision,” she sighed putting another mouthful of strawberry ice cream in her mouth. They had stopped off at what Alex had described as the best ice cream in Stockholm. “I didn’t either at first when I moved here from Canada, it’s weird, countries singing weird songs and perform in the strangest outfits then everyone gets angry when neighbouring countries vote for each other, for us it’s a night we watch tv and get drunk, it’s just even more hyped up this year because it’s in our city,”

“Ah well it sounds like fun so, Mo said you live out in Sweden during the off season you live here all the time you are here?”

“Some of the time, I spend a lot of time at my parents, this is just mine and Alex’s place,”

“Oh wow it’s so nice,” she said, nodding. In Seattle, she shared a tiny apartment with her best friend Molly and her boyfriend, Brad. She had become excellent at being third wheel to them. She could only dream of owning her own place.“So how did you meet Morgan? I thought a pretty girl like you he’s been showing you off?”

“Oh I live in Seattle but me and Morgs go way back we met at school in Couver,”

“Ah makes sense,” she said blushing.

“What brings you to Sweden apart from you know meeting me?” He asked with a playful grin. She laughed and pushed Willy.

“I’m interrailing around Europe,”

“And Mo didn’t want to come?”

“Nah he’d rather sit on his butt, see Maggie, his dog, play golf and go fishing,”

“Wait he named his dog after you?”

“Yeah well, he refuses to admit it,” she said with a shrug.

“So when he’s talking about Maggie,” he said, his eyes suddenly lighting up like it makes sense. “He was talking about you and not the dog?”

“Yes,” she said bursting out into laughter.

“That makes a lot more sense I wondered why he told me me and Maggie got dressed up and went for dinner,” he shrugged. “Did you have a bath with him?”

“Ew no” Maggie said with a laugh “that one was the dog,that is weird, I would never shower with him,”wrinkling her nose as she laughed.

“You and Morgan aren’t?” He asked his tilting head.

“God no he’s my best friend,”

“Oh okay good, I mean not good cool,” he said blushing and running through his hands through his hair again and awkwardly laughing. The pair went silent for a moment until Alex suddenly said goodbye turning to walk away.

“Where is he going? Are we not..” she trailed pointing to Alex walking up the hill

“Oh Alex is going to meet some of his friends, I said we’d meet back later, but I was thinking you might be hungry?”

It was that moment when Maggie’s stomach had decided to loudly gurgle. “Well I think that settles it and I know just the place,” he said with a wide grin.
