I really did just buy the Sea of Stars soundtrack on Steam last night, had to boot up and update my poor decrepit laptop to install Steam and actually download the files; and then performed some Dropbox shenanigans to actually transfer the songs to my phone's music app; where, of course, the track meta data ended up all weird so I have been editing all 200 tracks individually *on my phone*, which I *hate*-
Only for Sabotage to announce today that they've made the OST available on Spotify.
Fuckin clown music. That's what I am listening to. By virtue of myself bein a fuckin clown.
Soundtrack slaps, though. I wasn't that into it when I first started playing, but now I'm in love. Maybe someday I'll start listening to music that didn't come from video games again- but not today.

MIRACLE MUSICIAL
it's always funny to me when other miracle musical/tally hall fans come across my social media and address my username being a reference to hawaii: part ii
not only because it's just a funny situation but also i've gone by this username for long enough that i've entirely forgotten it's a reference to anything

I’m twirling around the kitchen on my toes, and I’m alive. A chosen song on repeat coming from my pocket, and I’m alive. I’m pulling out a baking book I haven’t touched in years, and I’m alive. I use the big fancy knife to cut the chocolate chunks, and I’m alive. A furry friend comes to investigate and get a pet, and I’m alive. The dough is sticking to my fingers but I make it work, and I’m alive. The cookies are in the oven, and I’m alive. I’m sitting on the floor while watching them through a greasy window, and I’m alive. Life is good, and I’m alive.

“but what’s the WORST Christmas song”
this one. It’s this one. It’s this song about a poor starving abused boy who dies on Santa’s lap in front of a whole line of other children,  and somehow this is supposed to be heartwarming.  It’s this song. My life is worse because I know this song exists and now your life can be worse too! You’re welcome!

Classical music is a huge anxiety/ptsd trigger for Florah bc Allmah plays it during her ritual torture sessions, and hearing it takes him right back there

a mildly alienating fact about me is that i saw bruce springsteen live once, but it was nowhere near the religious experience everyone says it is, for a few reasons:
1. it was not an actual Bruce Springsteen Concert, but rather an obama rally in 2008
2. at the time, i was not really a fan of bruce springsteen, and i only went to the rally because it was rumored that obama himself might show (he did not) and because it was free and I was offered a ride
3. even now that i am a fan of bruce springsteen, i am more a fan of the E Street Band than of just bruce himself, and this was just bruce with an acoustic guitar
so i mainly was bored and cold, and i do not remember it fondly

YouTube says this video is 17 years old but I know I was watching this amv on my little winamp player with its array of custom anime themed skins much earlier than that.
I quote this song constantly and no one ever knows what the hell I'm referencing, so here you go.

ginger i have now been watching outsidexbox hitman videos for the past 4 and a half hours
i dont know what you’ve done to me but i thank you for introducing me to this part of the world
OUTSIDEXBOX!!! BELOVEDS!!! ARE THEY NOT THE GODS OF FUNNY I LOVE THEM ALL
i fucking LOVE their hitman playthroughs they are the most hilarious things to me and i live andy's 47 voice "it's my first day....." the flamingo battleaxe escalation from hitman 2 is one of my favourites that they've done, although i am a bit peeved that they didn't pick up on one of the target's names being the totally random, not at all a reference 'levi akerman'
if you like watching dnd, they have a whole series with the oxbox and oxtra crews together!! it's called oxventure and it's all on youtube, plus a bonus thingy called oxventure in the dark which i'm told is very good 😍

Hi nat thanks for the music ask! My turn, 5 and 27!
5. A song that needs to be played LOUD.
no contest, anything by Scene Queen. But also, my constant go to for scream-singing is
27. A song that breaks your heart.
bleach by SOAK. "I can't compete with anatomy, I'll never be the real deal" shatters my heart every time. (Totally did not have this song on repeat during a depressive episode)

Sharing this work in progress of a song I started writing (I'd say with C but he was there mostly for moral support). It's about a difficult in-between time a while ago. This is what I sound like at the moment. It's a bit personal but I'm enjoying this process. (For clarity as I am posting this in the tag - I am a fictive, not a roleplayer, but I hope you can see my exploration here as perhaps entertaining if nothing else)
Lyrics below:
In the dark, there's a flower growing
In my heart, steady fire burning
And I don't show it, not even when I say your name
I keep it close to me, wonder if you'll ever see
Clung to light like it can't destroy me
In due time I may prove unworthy
But what's it to me?
Can't worry 'bout priorities when you look at me
If I was born to be a tool why do I bruise so much
If I'm not meant to be a fool why send me someone I can't touch
And I sin like the best of them, perhaps G-d likes a restless thing
No comfort and no calm, temp me into your arms
I think that I know right from wrong
