These are some rules that the owner of the Safe House made for the mercs in my hybrid au. The safe house is very big and has a private forest for them to stroll through if they'd like.

Safe House Rules

If you need to fly or stretch your legs, do it in the forest out back.

NO flying inside. (hovering is ok)

Eat AT LEAST two meals a day.

Drink AT LEAST seven cups of something a day. (preferably water)

Get AT LEAST seven hours of sleep or more.

Be inside by 9:30 pm.

ALWAYS turn in your weekly check-in sheet. (if you can't then get someone else to do it for you)

Everyone is responsible for their own laundry.

NO sharp objects in your room unless given permission. (I'm looking at you Tavish)

Take medication when necessary.

Don't fight.

Stay SAFE outside.

Go outside AT LEAST once a week.

Always attend weekly therapy sessions.

TF2 Drabbles: Engie/Pyro & Medic - Temporary Parting

The other request from @the-secret-11th-tf2merc 's ask.

Summary: [can you do a Drabble/continuation of] the engie and pyro series I commented on please?

[A/N] For context this is a continuation of another thing I wrote for a Valentinte's Week Angst Event (fic is Valentine's Week Angst, chapter 4 'Till Death do us Part) in which Pyro and Engie are out on a contract mission and Pyro dies. So this becomes a drabble in which the possibility of him being brought back to life is brought up.

As appealing as the idea of rushing off for vengeance this very moment was, Engie needed more information on where was his best bet for that was first. And… he needed to let the team know that Pyro was dead. Not the kind of news anyone ever wanted to deliver but it had to be done.

Engie finished his trek around the truck and climbed into the driver side, slamming the door behind him hard enough to make the car shake. He dropped the now unneeded first aid kit into the passenger seat before grabbing the radio. Whenever any of them went on a mission outside of base, someone was always left to watch the comms just in case something went wrong and backup was needed. It had been Scout who’d pulled that duty when Engie and Pyro had left that morning so…

“Scout, you there?” he said after turning it on, too tired to bother with the usual radio protocol.

“Nope, he’s off for the night and I pulled the short straw this time.” It was Medic, sounding just as annoyed as he always did when stuck with comms duty – it was a responsibility no one liked. His voice would’ve been such a relief if it wasn’t already too late. “What do you need?”

“Pyro’s dead.” Perhaps Engie should’ve waited until he got back to base to deliver the news, this being the kind usually delivered in person after all. But what difference did it make how everyone found out? And, this way, everyone would be ready to hold the funeral so he could head off that much sooner to find the folks who planted that bomb.

He did release the button though, giving Medic a bit to process that information and possibly respond if he wanted to, before going into what he wanted and needed done. For a few moments it seemed Medic wasn’t going to respond but then… “That’s great news.”

“The fuck is wrong with you?” Engie probably would’ve punched him if they weren’t talking over radio.

“No, no! Horrible news! Sad, very sad.” He didn’t sound the least bit sad. In fact he sounded excited. “I’m devastated. However, I have an experiment I’ve been wanting to do for a while now and it needs someone who died recently. So get him back here quickly, the faster the better because that’ll increase the chances of it working. Assuming his body’s not in too terrible condition anyway. Like if he’s cut in half I probably can’t fix that, though now that I think about it, if I had both halves and it was a clean cut and I had all his organs mostly intact, maybe I could. It’d be rough though. If his skull and brain are smashed though, that’s probably beyond me for sure. But if he just bled to death or drowned or something like that, I’d say it has a good shot at working.”

“Are you saying that you can bring him back to life?” Engie didn’t want to jump to conclusions but that’s what it had sounded like.

“Yes… maybe. I don’t know for sure yet but I’ve been working on this idea for ages and I think, in the right conditions, I have a good shot at it. Don’t get your hopes up too high but do get him here quickly, the faster the better, so I can try it.”

Engie didn’t bother replying before slamming the radio back into the console and turning the key in the ignition, making the engine start up with a roar. It was too good to be true but if anyone could pull off bringing someone back from the dead, it would be Medic.
