Jove was pacing back and forth in the small hospital’s waiting room, waiting for news on Thalassa. The two of them had been on the road when Thalassa went into labor. Of course they both panicked and Jove pulled into the nearest gas station. The gas station cashier had called them an ambulance, they weren’t exactly in a heavily populated area, and they waited. When the ambulance got there, she was rushed to the hospital, and Jove followed in their little camper. That had been a few hours ago.

They were in a small town, just outside of L.A, where Jove had been doing shows. In the time he’d been alone, he’d had a string of worrisome thoughts. Things like hospital costs, and if he was ready to be a dad. Thalassa had been a natural throughout her pregnancy, singing to the baby, and calming him when he freaked out. But he wasn’t sure if he could do it, he’d been an orphan himself, and had been adopted by a lovely single mother. He’d never really had a father, himself. As his thoughts began to spiral down another hole, his phone rang.

Stopping his pacing, he frowned before answering it. The doctors had said they would get him when he could come in.

“Hello, this is Jove Justice. May I ask who’s speaking?” Thalassa had told him that when he answered the phone, he went into client mode. All formal, so as not to deter customers.

“Hello Mr. Justice. I’m calling on behalf of Queen Amara Sigatar Khura’in, the high priestess and queen of the kingdom of Khura’in. She would like to know if you could come perform here, of course we would cover the travel expenses. Her mercifulness is a fan of your music.” Jove was at a loss for words before he stopped and frowned.

“This isn’t a scam, is it? Not to be rude, but I’ve never heard of this kingdom or its queen.” He saw a doctor enter the room and wave at him. He cut in before the person could speak again. “Look, I’m sorry but I’ll have to call you back. Can I call this number back tomorrow?”

“Yes of course. My apologies for calling so late, what time would you like to call?”

“Does around five tomorrow evening work for you?”

“Yes, thank you and have a good day Mr. Justice.”

“Yes, goodbye,” he said, as he hung up and turned to the doctor.

“Mr. Justice, you can come see your wife now.” Jove smiled, it was time to meet their baby.

He followed the doctor down a few different halls, before coming to a room. The doctor motioned for him to enter, and he almost cried when he did. Laying in bed, was a very tired Thalassa, with a small bundle in her arms. She looked towards the door when it opened, and offered Jove a tired smile, and waved him over. He crept over quietly, and shifted the blanket to see the baby’s face. He felt himself tear up.

“You did great Tess,” he laughed, as he leaned over to kiss her forehead.

“Thank you,” she whispered, before turning back to the bundle who began to stir. “Hello little one, would you like to meet your dad?” She cooed, before shifting to hand the baby to Jove.

With shaky hands, Jove picked up his son. “What should we name him?”

“I was thinking Apollo, the god of music.”

“Apollo,” Jove smiled. The baby opened his eyes and made a small gurgling sound. He laughed, “I think he likes it…”Thalassa laughed, before closing her eyes and leaning back. “ Hello little Apollo, welcome to the world.”

Jove Justice: The Guitar’s Serenade

I know that quite a few people have addressed the fact that The Guitar’s Serenade lines up with events we learn of in Spirit of Justice, so I decided to do an analysis of the lyrics:

Sugar, Sugar... O that night, in your embrace. When you stole away the keys my heart held on to so tight.

Thalassa grew up in the Troupe Gramarye and was raised by Magnifi Gramarye, a very sketchy man who would do anything for his act, it's not surprising that she wouldn't be the most open about affection, especially considering the fact that Valant and Zak, her adult co-workers have been hitting on her since she was a teenager. Jove was likely one of the first ones that she found herself interested in.

Pleasure, Pleasure... But a fleeting melody It wraps itself around me, And now through the air I fly.

Jove died in 2005 meaning that Thalassa lost her innocence at a very young age. She was only nineteen years old when her husband and infant son died. Fast-forward to 2016, the joy she experienced from being with Jove is nothing more than a fleeting memory. Lamiroir tries desperately to cling to her happiest thoughts, but remembers nothing before the age of 30, all she can draw to her mind is vague memories of herself soaring through the air in her "final moments." However, in her current state she doesn't recall what these memories were, describing it as a "melody" referring to Jove's career as a musician.

Woh... Woh... Burning on in my heart. Fire. Burn my love away. All away.

Thoughts of Jove burn on in her heart and mind like fire. The fire that killed Jove in Khura'in, the fire that burned her love away.

Like a bullet of love. Fire. Take my life away. All away.

While flying through the air practicing Zak and Valant's Quick Draw Shoot 'Em a fatal error occurs in the trick. Thalassa is shot by one of her fellow magicians. The bullet is fired and takes Thalassa Gramarye's life. She is stripped of everything that makes Thalassa herself, leaving only Lamiroir in her place.

Guitar, Guitar... Up together to the sky.

The guitar is Jove, this, along with the fire, is all she remembers of him in her state of amnesia. And when Thalassa was shot during the Quick Draw, she feels she should've joined him in the sky.
