#thank you romi!! >:3 <33

For the ask game: bite, soft, and/or steady? Thank you!
*tacklehugs!!* Romi, you know me SO WELL ;u; <33
bite is from my original project, ropes and fangs. this is from chapter two:
She bites her lip for a moment, her dark gaze flickering between his, before she releases a breath. “Kiss me. Please.”
soft is from my next halsin project, halsin/tav, 'a moment's silence':
“You’re quiet tonight,” their voice is soft, hushed in the quiet, their eyes on him dark and glittering in the flickering shadows cast by the campfire. “Care to share what’s on your mind?”
steady is from chapter four of 'happy accidents', davey/angel (which gets smutty >:3):
He rolls them, carefully, steadying them as they find themself on top, soft thighs cradling his hips, eyes dark, so dark, pupils blown wide. From here, he can see that the flush on their cheeks has swept down their neck, pooling across their chest - and fuck.

a lovely anon asked me if i could write about hiromi hubby making you ride his nose but i literally lost the req :(( i'm so sorry but!! i didn't forget so here you go baby <3
⋆౨ৎ˚ notes > hiromi x you. that man's kinda thirsty lmao :) nasty shii under! tell me if i missed anything!! ^^ ౨ৎ warning : you may have butterflies in your belly while reading this!! 𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ𐀔
Tumblr media
your husband's nose was one of the many things you absolutely loved about him. for whatever reason, you just thought that it gave him personality.
sure, a cute little button nose or straight nose is always cute but a big nose ? oh. my.
hiromi loved making you ride his face, and most importantly his nose. he knew you loved it and the size of it made you see stars whenever it rubbed against your throbbing little clit.
and without mentioning that you were in your ovulation week. which made you ten times feral about his nose him.
you were riding his nose with such vigor that he couldn't comprehend properly. but fuck it, it wasn't the right time to think about anything else other than the way your sloppy juice ran down his chin. "'romi..." you breathed as your pretty manicured nails dug into the wood of the headboard.
he opened his heavy eyelids, staring up at your pretty face with unfocused, tired eyes. "mhm ?" the vibration made a shiver run down your spine. "feels so good, 'romi..." he chuckled lazily. "yeah ? feels good, mhm ?" your pretty hands left the headboard to grip his messy hair.
hiromi could barely breathe. his tongue was still teasing your hole and his lips were latched onto your pulsating clit. but he didn't care. he couldn't, actually.
he just couldn't bring himself to care. if he died underneath you, his head crushed by your thighs, he'd die a happy man.
he was so hard that it was almost painful. his growing erection was stuck under his pants and he hated it. he just wished that it'd be buried between your pretty legs by now. but no. he had to satisfy his little wife first thing first. as you whimpers got louder, he hummed. "yeah, i know... i'm going to take care of you, baby... promise. just wait like a good girl." he mumbled.
"'romi, i'm gonna cum..." you breathed. at your breathless words, he perked up. strangely, his tongue worked with renewed fervor. his hands grabbed your plushy thighs and locked them securely around his head as he fucked his tongue in and out of your quivering hole.
you gasped softly and rolled your hips, the tip of his nose bumping against your clit. the surprise made you cum almost instantly. "'romi !" you moaned.
your eyes rolled back and your lips parted as your head tilted to the side lazily. he watched, still underneath you, not daring to stop for a second. his eyes closed at your sweet taste. "fuuuck..." he groaned. "taste so good, angel..." and your juice was one of the many things he loved about you.
it had such a sweet taste to it. it tasted like candy and he drank it so casually, almost as if it was just regular water. he could drown in it and he'd thank you.
as you finally came down from your high, you whined softly. you were so incredibly fucked out but your little pussy wanted more. it always wanted more than it could take. you got off him and pawed at his hardness. "can we do it again...?" you mumbled, blinking your pretty eyes at him almost innocently.
how could he decline such an appealing offer ?
Tumblr media
i love him i love him i love himmMM <33 finally wrote for my manzz!! what doja said frfr.

can i request richarlison dating a single mom reader and him falling in love with her daughter and acting like a father figure in her life since her real father wasn’t present?
a/n:stop i feel like i can write something so cute out of this😭😭♥️ thank you so much for your request hope you will like it <33
Tumblr media
Richarlison Imagines:Never hurt her
a/n:wrote it while listening to that song <3
You introduced Richarlison to your daughter Romy when being in 10 months of relationship and you saw something happened for the past 2 months they spend her entire time together and being "the best bestfriends in the entire universe and galaxy" as she always say.
Richy is about to leave with his bags to go to Quatar but there is no Romy waiting to say goodbyes at the door,which surprise you very much.
"Rom he’s leaving soon!" You say
"I don’t care!" Romy clap back and you widen your eyes
You go upstairs in your room to see Richy all sad "What happened?" You ask
"I told her i couldn’t go to her dance show because i have the opening ceremony of the world cup and everything and now she doesn’t want to talk to me and she said that "i’m not her bestfriend anymore"" He explain
"You said you were able to go!" You say
"Because i thought i could skip opening ceremony!" He explain,feeling guilty
"You’re gonna be late you should go." You say
"Please i already feel like shit enough i don’t want you mad at me." He say
"I’m not mad Richy." "I’ll just have to explain to a 4 years old child that you didn’t stick to your promise and that’s fine." You explain
A few hours later Richy left and Romy is in her tutu:
"I don’t wanna go!" "I’m gonna fail mommy!" Romy say
"You will not fail Baby,you’ll do amazing and i’ll be here to applaud you." You say
"But not him.." She say sad and with tears in her eyes
"Hey come here!" You hug her
"I love you and he loves you too never doubt about it sometimes he just have to be away." You try to explain
"Because he’s a footballer?" "Yeah" "So i don’t like football!" You sigh in defeat
"We need to go okay" You say
"Okay.."
"Listen to me"
She look at you:
"You’ll do amazing because you are wonderful stunning and incredible just like your mommy."
She laugh you kiss her all over her cheeks and she laugh even more
You take the car and arrive when a certain blonde who was supposed have left the country make an appearance
"What are you doing here?" You ask
"I would have been such an idiot if i would have missed this." He say
"Oh that’s for sure." You say and he smile
"I’m sorry." He say
"You don’t have to say this to me the only thing i want is you to promise me that you’re never ever going to hurt her if you can’t go somewhere with her don’t promise her in the first place and don’t disappoint her once again."
"I promise i swear even." "Where is she?" He ask
"Behind the scene."
He kiss you quickly and go behind the scene
Richarlison point of view:
You go behind the scene and see Romy:
"Romy!"
When she see you her face lights up she runs to you wraps herself around your legs. You bend down and take her in your arms.
"I’m so sorry." You say "Would you forgive me?"
"And would you be my bestfriend again?I don’t want us to stop being bestfriends i love you too much" She ask
You smile "Of course" You kiss her cheek
"I love you you need to go but you’re gonna do amazing Roms okay!" "Okay!" You put her down and come back toward Y/n
You sit on a chair and she sit next to you:
"And you would you forgive me my love?" You ask
"Of course i will."
And the show goes on..
a/n:i didn’t really know how to write what you asked so i did this instead i feel like it’s very bad but i prefer give something at least english is not my first language

F, N, and R for you and togame please! <3
thank you romy for the ask <33 (AGAIN IM SO SORRY ITS BEEN SO LONG FORGIVE ME)
F: one way togame flirts is by using the kiss tax on literally Everything. (opens the door) kiss (reaches for something on the top shelf for me) kiss O_O This man runs the kiss economy like the fucking army. if i don't pay the kiss tax, he would pout and give me the most watery puppy eyes ever.....and also a fine (i must kiss him twice). he's a gentleman but not for free he must use his econ financial market knowledge against me. "don't let me go into a recession, darlin" he makes me want knock him out sometimes
N: he's probably the one using nicknames in the relationship since i just call him jo. but sometimes when i need him to do something i like to call him kame-san and pretend like we're in a formal office setting for the funsies. for jo, his favourite nicknames to use are darling and doll (can you tell from how much i keep writing his dialogue with them :)) i think the obsession with darling comes from the fact that togame wants to recreate romcom or just any romantic movie scenes anytime and anywhere (choji's always calling him out for crying at every film he watches). togame's a sappy lover and i love him for that <3
R: we have a mandatory baking session on sundays, whether that's blueberry muffins or a massive batch of shortbread we pack into little bags to give out at the ori or to some of the bofurin members if we walk by makochi!!! jo and i are actually quite productive in the kitchen and our baking creations are pretty successful if i can say so myself ^_-⭐︎ he's currently looking for chocolate muffin recipes after all the hype around the olympic village ones (he won't stop talking about wanting to try them) all his safari tabs are just recipes after recipes because he can't be bothered to write them down lol

Please, ejunkiet, I humbly ask you for two:
Davey/angel - David POV, solstice fic
and
cat-sitting fic
Thank you!! ♥️
*tacklehugs!!* YESS ROMI >:3 OKAY.
The solstice fic!! >:3 THIS IS NEARLY DONE. It's got some Marie cameos, which I adore (and makes me think of frenchie, ALWAYS ;u; <33). I'll give you a snippet of the other fic too, so I'll keep this short:
“Thank you, Marie.” He means it for more than just yesterday, and she knows that, a warm understanding in her dark eyes as she catches his gaze, her mouth quirking into a smile. “Of course, David. You’re family. Both of you,” she says with a glance down to the bundle of human in her arms, a fondness in her gaze as she gives them a tight squeeze. “Now take care of each other, ya here? And get that patio door fixed, pronto.”
(god I love these moments-)
--
okay OKAY THE DAVID AND ANGEL CAT SITS AGGRO GIFTFIC >:3
I sketched out a second chapter, which also goes a little into Milo and SH investigating CloseKnit (which was the secret subtext to the first fic-) hehehe >:3 HAVE A SNIPPET:
It’s late at the end of the second week that Milo calls to check in. Milo has been sending him regular updates via text, keeping him abreast of his status. His mate had joined him early on, the two of them working together on his investigation - albeit in an unofficial capacity. David thinks he knows what this is about. That organisation - CloseKnit - that Milo had been looking into for a possible connection to the events of the Inversion.  He still doesn’t like it, but he’d been glad Milo hadn’t been alone. He looks better on the video call, the shadows gone from beneath his eyes, his skin clearer, healthier. It’s the best rested he’s seemed in weeks, and there’s a pleased smile on his face as he greets David. “It went well then, I take it?” His smile grows wider. “You can definitely say that.”

Entire COS DVD commentary from 3 Japanese voice actors and director
Ripped from subtitles, though be aware there may be errors as there had to be use of OCR during file conversions. And there’s not much indication of who’s saying what either.
00:00:03,003 --> 00:00:09,467 Theatrical Fullmetal Alchemist, DVD audio commentary!
00:00:09,551 --> 00:00:13,304 Yay!
00:00:13,388 --> 00:00:16,516 Okay. You can hear us, but the participants are...
00:00:16,600 --> 00:00:18,726 I'm Mizushima, the director.
00:00:18,810 --> 00:00:20,853 Thank you for being here!
00:00:20,938 --> 00:00:21,687 And!
00:00:21,730 --> 00:00:24,607 I'm Kugimiya Rie and I play Alphonse Elric. Nice to be here.
00:00:24,691 --> 00:00:26,400 Thank you for being here!
00:00:26,485 --> 00:00:27,151 And!
00:00:27,194 --> 00:00:29,195 I'm Toyoguchi Megumi and I play Winry Rockbell.
00:00:29,279 --> 00:00:31,322 Thank you for being here!
00:00:31,406 --> 00:00:35,952 And me! I'm Park Romi and I play Edward Elric.
00:00:36,036 --> 00:00:40,122 Yay!
00:00:40,207 --> 00:00:42,333 --Talk about loose. --Yes, we're loose.
00:00:42,417 --> 00:00:43,584 These are the participants.
00:00:43,669 --> 00:00:47,838 Yes, the four of us are bringing you this audio commentary.
00:00:47,923 --> 00:00:48,881 It's already going here.
00:00:48,966 --> 00:00:50,299 It started long ago.
00:00:50,384 --> 00:00:54,679 --It's long, so we shouldn't go all-out from the start. --That was fast.
00:00:54,763 --> 00:00:57,223 But you know, we gotta make our appeal.
00:00:57,307 --> 00:00:59,267 Though, I don't know what the appeal is for.
00:00:59,351 --> 00:01:01,018 We've got the armor, right off the bat.
00:01:01,103 --> 00:01:02,228 Oh, yes.
00:01:02,312 --> 00:01:04,480 Hanussen has already shown up here.
00:01:04,565 --> 00:01:07,900 --It's not Hanussen. It's Huskisson. --Even though you weren't an armor anymore at the end of the series.
00:01:07,985 --> 00:01:10,319 It's Huskisson.
00:01:10,404 --> 00:01:13,072 But it says, "Hanussen's character," right here.
00:01:13,156 --> 00:01:14,448 You're right.
00:01:14,533 --> 00:01:17,743 --It should be Huskisson, right, you staff members? --How strange.
00:01:17,828 --> 00:01:19,870 It ain't my mistake, man.
00:01:23,584 --> 00:01:25,668 Here's the armor Al.
00:01:25,752 --> 00:01:27,378 You hadn't seen armor Al in a while, right?
00:01:27,462 --> 00:01:30,339 Yeah, that's true.
00:01:31,550 --> 00:01:32,550 Is that all you have to say?
00:01:32,634 --> 00:01:36,846 --Did you see Ed there? --Yeah, I saw it. The goldfish bowl.
00:01:36,930 --> 00:01:40,891 Like what you use to go deep sea diving.
00:01:40,976 --> 00:01:43,436 It's cute, but I don't know why he's wearing that.
00:01:43,520 --> 00:01:44,312 You're right!
00:01:44,354 --> 00:01:47,523 We chopped the start off, so there's no context anymore.
00:01:47,608 --> 00:01:50,985 --Oh, I didn't know. --Above this place is full of steam,
00:01:51,069 --> 00:01:56,866 so he was supposed to have protective clothing and a helmet,
00:01:56,950 --> 00:01:59,660 but the protective clothing made it impossible to tell who he was.
00:01:59,745 --> 00:02:02,246 So, we debated it and decided to just give him the helmet
00:02:02,331 --> 00:02:04,957 and we were planning to put lots more steam up there.
00:02:05,042 --> 00:02:05,958 We forgot it.
00:02:06,043 --> 00:02:07,418 Hey, now!
00:02:07,502 --> 00:02:10,880 --Hey, now! --I think it would've been obscure, even if we did it, though.
00:02:10,964 --> 00:02:16,552 It just kind of stuck when we were reorganizing things a bit.
00:02:16,637 --> 00:02:18,387 I see.
00:02:20,682 --> 00:02:24,644 But you know, Ishizuka Unsho-san, who played Huskisson,
00:02:24,728 --> 00:02:26,395 was really fired up, wasn't he?
00:02:26,480 --> 00:02:27,688 He was!
00:02:27,773 --> 00:02:31,776 The sound director, Mima-san, told him he was in the opening.
00:02:31,860 --> 00:02:35,863 He put the pressure on him.
00:02:35,947 --> 00:02:40,951 Like, " Yiu will be saying 'Fullmetal Alchemist'."
00:02:41,036 --> 00:02:44,121 Unsho-san was unusually psyched.
00:02:44,206 --> 00:02:46,248 I know!
00:02:46,333 --> 00:02:50,294 The way Unsho-san came to play this part is...
00:02:50,379 --> 00:02:53,464 Working with Technosound, for movies,
00:02:53,548 --> 00:02:56,634 they let you put voices in using young, junior actors
00:02:56,718 --> 00:03:01,305 in order to get the overall feel of it and we did it, too.
00:03:01,390 --> 00:03:05,685 And for that, we had the young people at Unsho-san's agency do it.
00:03:05,769 --> 00:03:08,187 Unsho-san happened to be observing,
00:03:08,271 --> 00:03:11,857 and he went, "When's my part coming up?!"
00:03:11,942 --> 00:03:13,484 I had no idea!
00:03:13,568 --> 00:03:14,944 Marketing!
00:03:15,028 --> 00:03:17,071 It's marketing!
00:03:17,155 --> 00:03:20,616 So, we got to talking about how this character might be good
00:03:20,701 --> 00:03:23,786 and it got settled right there. We were very fortunate.
00:03:23,870 --> 00:03:27,832 Well, since he stepped up, you gotta have him take a part.
00:03:27,916 --> 00:03:30,209 And in fact, he did a great job.
00:03:30,293 --> 00:03:34,964 His mad scientist-style enthusiasm is great.
00:03:35,048 --> 00:03:37,216 He really did it with great enthusiasm.
00:03:37,300 --> 00:03:41,095 It was my first time working with him, but I was really happy.
00:03:41,179 --> 00:03:45,474 What about you, Edward? You hadn't seen this kind of action in a while.
00:03:45,559 --> 00:03:48,894 Well, I was surprised.
00:03:48,979 --> 00:03:51,230 When I read the script, that was my first thought.
00:03:51,314 --> 00:03:57,695 Little Ed and Little Al... Well, not little. Don't say "little"!
00:03:57,779 --> 00:04:00,656 I'd had this impression that they'd be all grown up,
00:04:00,741 --> 00:04:02,491 so seeing them when they're little was...
00:04:02,576 --> 00:04:04,577 They're not really little!
00:04:04,661 --> 00:04:10,124 They're not little, but you know...
00:04:10,208 --> 00:04:12,835 Was that thing crawling up the pillar Al?
00:04:12,919 --> 00:04:16,130 Yes. He's climbed up there later, see?
00:04:16,214 --> 00:04:19,300 No, I know, but watching this after some time,
00:04:19,384 --> 00:04:22,386 he was climbing like a centipede.
00:04:22,471 --> 00:04:26,599 He's going up the stairs.
00:04:26,683 --> 00:04:28,893 Al sure is nimble for being armor.
00:04:28,977 --> 00:04:33,606 Yes, he is. After all, he's been armor for quite some time now.
00:04:33,690 --> 00:04:38,277 So, he's familiar with how it moves.
00:04:38,361 --> 00:04:42,698 So like, Toyoguchi, in playing Winry,
00:04:42,783 --> 00:04:46,243 did you watch this from the start, too?
00:04:46,328 --> 00:04:47,703 I did, I did, I did.
00:04:47,788 --> 00:04:51,415 And... Oh, sorry. That thing Ed did just now is funny, isn't it?
00:04:51,500 --> 00:04:54,168 --What? --What? I totally missed it.
00:04:54,252 --> 00:04:56,212 The thing he transmuted with Ed's trademark face.
00:04:56,296 --> 00:04:58,339 That bouncy thing.
00:04:58,423 --> 00:05:01,675 Well, that's not important.
00:05:01,760 --> 00:05:04,303 So, from Winry's perspective,
00:05:04,387 --> 00:05:08,724 what did you think about how it started with a scene like this?
00:05:08,809 --> 00:05:13,103 I was kind of... Well, my first thought was, "I wonder when this is."
00:05:13,188 --> 00:05:17,066 We'd finished the TV series,
00:05:17,150 --> 00:05:20,236 --so I thought, "Wait, what?" --I thought so, too! --Right?
00:05:20,320 --> 00:05:24,615 Well, I thought, "Oh, I guess Ed didn't grow in height or anything."
00:05:24,699 --> 00:05:27,284 Don't talk about my height.
00:05:27,369 --> 00:05:29,620 But Al being the armor was conclusive.
00:05:29,704 --> 00:05:33,123 And I thought, "Wait, he should've gone back to being a human."
00:05:33,208 --> 00:05:38,003 Yeah, because I mean this Hanussen... No, Huskisson is like...
00:05:38,088 --> 00:05:44,176 You can't tell if it's before or after Liore.
00:05:44,261 --> 00:05:47,388 I wondered when this was.
00:05:47,472 --> 00:05:51,141 I watched it normally, from a general audience's point of view.
00:05:51,226 --> 00:05:56,647 When I got the script and the VHS.
00:05:56,731 --> 00:05:59,984 So were you surprised, after all?
00:06:00,068 --> 00:06:00,734 Yeah.
00:06:00,777 --> 00:06:02,361 You really pulled a fast one on us, director.
00:06:02,445 --> 00:06:04,154 Didn't you wonder about when you'd show up or anything?
00:06:04,239 --> 00:06:06,156 I wondered about it a lot!
00:06:06,241 --> 00:06:08,242 As I went through the script, I kept wondering,
00:06:08,326 --> 00:06:13,372 --"Where do I show up? Where do I show up?" --I'll bet.
00:06:13,456 --> 00:06:16,625 But this...
00:06:16,710 --> 00:06:21,088 This is the key point, right? In terms of the story.
00:06:21,172 --> 00:06:24,466 Well, ultimately, it's not a simple flashback scene.
00:06:24,551 --> 00:06:29,305 It's not just a nostalgic story featuring the heroes.
00:06:29,389 --> 00:06:34,226 So, when we ran massively over our allotted time, we couldn't cut it.
00:06:34,311 --> 00:06:35,436 That uranium?
00:06:35,520 --> 00:06:37,563 Yeah, the uranium bomb.
00:06:37,647 --> 00:06:39,773 And that's the key word here, right?
00:06:39,858 --> 00:06:44,361 Yes, later on, it's in the photo that Lang shows.
00:06:44,446 --> 00:06:46,822 So, what does it mean?
00:06:46,907 --> 00:06:49,825 What does it mean? When he performed the human transmutation,
00:06:49,910 --> 00:06:53,120 it basically opened the gate and what fell in the gate
00:06:53,204 --> 00:06:56,248 showed up on the other side in some way, shape, or form.
00:06:56,333 --> 00:06:57,708 The people of the Thule Society
00:06:57,792 --> 00:07:00,127 have also been doing all sorts of things to try to open the gate,
00:07:00,211 --> 00:07:02,379 so it just happened to open up.
00:07:02,464 --> 00:07:05,174 Basically, they've gotten close to opening it several times already,
00:07:05,258 --> 00:07:07,635
--using magic. --Oh, so, right now, in the real world...
00:07:07,719 --> 00:07:13,849 The uranium in our world came from the Fullmetal Alchemist world?
00:07:13,934 --> 00:07:16,268 Well, it's basically set up so you can look at it that way.
00:07:16,353 --> 00:07:20,105 What an awful story.
00:07:20,190 --> 00:07:22,524 That's how parallel world stories work!
00:07:22,609 --> 00:07:27,279 They affect each other in some way and that's good story material.
00:07:27,364 --> 00:07:30,282 So anyway, the scene has changed.
00:07:30,367 --> 00:07:31,951 Alphonse...
00:07:32,035 --> 00:07:35,663 Heiderich. Well? What did you think when you saw him, Kugimiya-san?
00:07:35,747 --> 00:07:41,251 Well, I thought he was a handsome character.
00:07:41,336 --> 00:07:45,839 You know, when we did the trailer,
00:07:45,924 --> 00:07:50,094 there was one close-up shot of Heiderich,
00:07:50,178 --> 00:07:54,264 and I thought, "Oh, so that's how he'll look when he grows up."
00:07:54,349 --> 00:07:57,184 At that time, was it determined that Shun-¤un would play him?
00:07:57,268 --> 00:08:03,065 --No, that hadn't been decided yet. --It wasn't, right? I thought, "I think he might be a bit old for me."
00:08:03,149 --> 00:08:05,567 That was when we were agonizing over it.
00:08:05,652 --> 00:08:08,112 "What should we do?"
00:08:08,196 --> 00:08:10,155 That's right.
00:08:10,240 --> 00:08:12,741 And there was talk of recasting Ed, too.
00:08:12,826 --> 00:08:14,284 --They said that! They said that! --That was terrible.
00:08:14,369 --> 00:08:18,038 --It was no joking matter. --We sure dragged that one out.
00:08:18,123 --> 00:08:21,458 It was dragged out for too long.
00:08:21,543 --> 00:08:25,337 And here, we just got a glimpse of them. The Roma.
00:08:27,007 --> 00:08:30,217 Sawai Miyuu-chan was great, too, wasn't she?
00:08:32,846 --> 00:08:39,435 I feel like she fit this kind of expression.
00:08:39,519 --> 00:08:42,312 So, the reason you decided to put the Roma
00:08:42,397 --> 00:08:48,152 into the world of Fullmetal Alchemist...
00:08:48,236 --> 00:08:51,947 Was that because you wanted to correlate
00:08:52,032 --> 00:08:57,036 what the Roma are burdened with to what Ed is burdened with?
00:08:57,120 --> 00:09:00,080 Yes, well, ultimately the Roma are...
00:09:00,165 --> 00:09:05,878 The story itself was originally written by Aikawa Sho
00:09:05,962 --> 00:09:08,130 and the reason the Roma show up is
00:09:08,214 --> 00:09:11,592 because of the position of the Roma in Europe during this time period
00:09:11,676 --> 00:09:17,473 and he has no home and they have no country of their own,
00:09:17,557 --> 00:09:19,475 so that correlates to Ed's situation
00:09:19,559 --> 00:09:22,019 and it makes it easier to make that emotional connection.
00:09:22,103 --> 00:09:26,607 The reason we picked this era is because of the racism
00:09:26,691 --> 00:09:33,947 and the negative sentiments of people culminating towards World War II,
00:09:34,032 --> 00:09:36,950 and our thought that if we could depict those things,
00:09:37,035 --> 00:09:39,953 it would resonate with the current era.
00:09:40,038 --> 00:09:42,873 So, I think the historical setting was chosen
00:09:42,957 --> 00:09:46,794 to encompass as many of those kinds of elements as possible.
00:09:46,878 --> 00:09:50,297 But in exchange, it was tough, since we lacked reference material.
00:09:50,381 --> 00:09:53,092 There's lots of written material, but no images.
00:09:53,176 --> 00:09:57,387 But I'm amazed you got this scene with the Roma singing.
00:09:57,472 --> 00:10:00,182 This was such an enigmatic scene.
00:10:00,266 --> 00:10:06,271 Takeda-san knew a Roma musician and went, "How 'bout it?"
00:10:06,356 --> 00:10:09,066 --He sent me some music. --Like, "Why dontcha put this in there?"
00:10:09,150 --> 00:10:12,945 I listened to it and I liked the music,
00:10:13,029 --> 00:10:15,823 so I just commented normally, "Oh, this is nice."
00:10:15,907 --> 00:10:17,825 And he came back with, "We can get it recorded!"
00:10:18,368 --> 00:10:20,202 And the person is from overseas,
00:10:20,286 --> 00:10:23,747 so naturally, we had various issues to deal with, like with his label,
00:10:23,832 --> 00:10:26,291 so I rushed to contact Ohyama-¤un to say,
00:10:26,376 --> 00:10:29,294 "Hey, hey, Takeda-san says we could get to use some Roma music,
00:10:29,379 --> 00:10:31,505 "but is it going to be okay?"
00:10:31,589 --> 00:10:33,382 We went through a lot of things after that
00:10:33,466 --> 00:10:36,593 and finally in March or April... Or maybe a bit earlier?
00:10:36,678 --> 00:10:41,974 ...we got it recorded and we had the animators waiting during that time,
00:10:42,058 --> 00:10:44,560 so we ended up having to do it with an extremely tight schedule.
00:10:44,644 --> 00:10:45,435 But it turned out really good.
00:10:45,478 --> 00:10:46,979 Yes, it was great.
00:10:47,063 --> 00:10:49,398 That sense of the Roma's world
00:10:49,482 --> 00:10:54,736 matched well with the Fullmetal world.
00:10:54,821 --> 00:10:58,282 And as you watch the dancing and listen to the music,
00:10:58,366 --> 00:11:01,702 you see the inscrutable expression on Ed's face and on Heiderich's face,
00:11:01,786 --> 00:11:05,622 and that inscrutable expression overlaps with him as a child
00:11:05,707 --> 00:11:06,790 and connects to L'Arc's...
00:11:06,875 --> 00:11:10,377 ...to L'Arc¤en¤¤iel's song.
00:11:10,461 --> 00:11:13,922 The way it all matched up was brilliant.
00:11:14,007 --> 00:11:17,426 I thought I might feel more of a sense of incongruity, but...
00:11:17,510 --> 00:11:22,389 ¤ust connecting two musical pieces is an incredible feat.
00:11:22,473 --> 00:11:25,893 We thought if we were going to do it, we should go the distance.
00:11:25,977 --> 00:11:27,978 But up to that point, we agonized a lot about our options,
00:11:28,062 --> 00:11:30,147 like putting a little buffer in between.
00:11:30,231 --> 00:11:33,984 But it really... I think the utter contrast between the two pieces
00:11:34,068 --> 00:11:37,988 worked greatly in our favor.
00:11:38,072 --> 00:11:41,617 The Roma music makes you feel
00:11:41,701 --> 00:11:44,870 like you're being drawn into a different world,
00:11:44,954 --> 00:11:52,169 and then with L'Arc's song, you get kind of yanked back.
00:11:52,253 --> 00:11:59,134 Like, "Oh, this is where I'm at," and things come into focus.
00:11:59,802 --> 00:12:00,802 I agree.
00:12:00,887 --> 00:12:07,267 There's this mysterious sense that you want to listen to it forever
00:12:07,352 --> 00:12:09,311 and then you get L'Arc!
00:12:09,395 --> 00:12:13,148 You feel like, "It's definitely Fullmetal, after all!"
00:12:13,233 --> 00:12:18,445 --Oh, this is Hanussen. --Yes, this is Hanussen.
00:12:18,529 --> 00:12:20,322 Hanussen is also an actual historical character,
00:12:20,406 --> 00:12:24,117 but he only shows up here, so we didn't try to point it out.
00:12:26,621 --> 00:12:28,664 In our first prototype... rather, the initial draft,
00:12:28,748 --> 00:12:32,209 Hanussen was more involved in the story,
00:12:32,293 --> 00:12:36,421 but the more characters you depict, the longer the movie becomes,
00:12:36,506 --> 00:12:38,590 so a lot of it got trimmed away.
00:12:38,675 --> 00:12:39,758 It was too bad about his character.
00:12:39,842 --> 00:12:42,636 Does that mean the movie was even longer before?
00:12:42,720 --> 00:12:44,846 You know, maybe you should've split this into like
00:12:44,931 --> 00:12:50,769 Fu¤¤me¤a¤ ¤¤c¤em¤¤¤¤ ¤¤e ¤¤¤quer¤r ¤¤ ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ ¤ ¤ ¤¤ ¤¤¤ ¤.
00:12:50,853 --> 00:12:52,312 If you did one a year...
00:12:52,397 --> 00:12:55,649 There was enough material there, if you just added a bit more to it,
00:12:55,733 --> 00:12:58,235 to make a ¤ ¤ episode series or so,
00:12:58,319 --> 00:13:00,779 but when it first got read and that was mentioned,
00:13:00,863 --> 00:13:04,950 everyone avoided making eye contact after Takeda-san said that.
00:13:05,034 --> 00:13:09,705 It was like, "No, no, no, one theatrical film."
00:13:09,789 --> 00:13:11,915 Like, "We're doing more ¤ episodes after all that?"
00:13:12,000 --> 00:13:14,668 We thought so, too, when we read the script,
00:13:14,752 --> 00:13:17,254 "This could be ¤ ¤ or even ¤¤ episodes worth of material."
00:13:17,338 --> 00:13:21,425 I know! There was so much in there!
00:13:21,509 --> 00:13:24,720 After all, we got to this point after cutting quite a lot of it.
00:13:24,804 --> 00:13:27,097 Not only that, but if you chopped it up
00:13:27,181 --> 00:13:30,684 and depicted everything in everyone's back story,
00:13:30,768 --> 00:13:35,147 you could go ¤¤ episodes, or even ¤ ¤¤!
00:13:35,231 --> 00:13:37,149 If you made it like an ensemble story
00:13:37,233 --> 00:13:42,154 and you have lots of episodes where you don't see the main protagonists.
00:13:42,238 --> 00:13:45,615 I mean, you know Aikawa-san's script?
00:13:45,700 --> 00:13:47,701 ¤ust reading that,
00:13:47,785 --> 00:13:53,123 there was so much more material in there than what's in the film.
00:13:53,207 --> 00:13:56,251 I'm amazed you pulled it together.
00:13:56,336 --> 00:13:57,127 Two hours, was it?
00:13:57,211 --> 00:14:00,547 Not even. It's one hour and forty... forty-six minutes, I think.
00:14:00,631 --> 00:14:02,299 What are you, stupid?
00:14:02,383 --> 00:14:06,261 But I mean, we'd been told an hour and a half,
00:14:06,346 --> 00:14:09,222 so we're already over by a dozen or so minutes,
00:14:09,307 --> 00:14:11,600 if you consider what we were commissioned to do.
00:14:11,684 --> 00:14:13,769 So, of course we'll cut it down to the bare bones.
00:14:13,853 --> 00:14:18,065 The number of scenes isn't within the limit we were given, either.
00:14:18,149 --> 00:14:20,901 It was like, impossible, impossible, impossible, impossible.
00:14:20,985 --> 00:14:26,448 Here, you kind of see their encounter,
00:14:26,532 --> 00:14:31,620 but was there any romance between them?
00:14:31,704 --> 00:14:32,788 No, I don't think so.
00:14:32,872 --> 00:14:35,874 --There isn't? At all? --I don't think so.
00:14:35,958 --> 00:14:39,628 I didn't make it thinking there was anything there.
00:14:39,712 --> 00:14:41,463 There was for me.
00:14:41,547 --> 00:14:43,131 Oh, really?
00:14:43,216 --> 00:14:46,218 Well, I'm sure he'd have some awareness, since she's a woman,
00:14:46,302 --> 00:14:51,098 but Ed has doubts about whether he belongs in this place and time,
00:14:51,182 --> 00:14:52,766 so it wouldn't have developed.
00:14:52,850 --> 00:14:54,476 He might think she was cute...
00:14:54,560 --> 00:14:57,104 --I mean, I don't think he'd help her --That's not it. Somehow...
00:14:57,188 --> 00:14:59,523 --if he didn't have some interest. --He's kind of drawn...
00:14:59,607 --> 00:15:06,113 Like, the holes in their respective lives kind of resonate with each other.
00:15:06,197 --> 00:15:08,281 That kind of sense...
00:15:08,366 --> 00:15:09,825 I think that's right on the money.
00:15:09,909 --> 00:15:11,660 But as for whether that's romantic...
00:15:11,744 --> 00:15:14,579 I couldn't really see it as a romantic connection,
00:15:14,664 --> 00:15:18,166 so we decided not to show that sort of thing.
00:15:18,251 --> 00:15:22,003 But because that's there, I think it looks really seductive
00:15:22,088 --> 00:15:26,174 when Noah comes over Ed to steal his memories.
00:15:26,259 --> 00:15:28,552 --So up to that point... --That part was erotic.
00:15:33,057 --> 00:15:36,143 What about you, Meg? With Noah showing up and stuff.
00:15:36,227 --> 00:15:39,271 I thought, "Who the hell is she?!"
00:15:39,355 --> 00:15:44,734 I totally thought that.
00:15:44,819 --> 00:15:46,862 "Who the hell is she?!"
00:15:46,946 --> 00:15:50,073 Sorry.
00:15:50,158 --> 00:15:53,785 Thank you for your candid opinion.
00:15:53,870 --> 00:15:58,290 Like, "How many years do you think I've been there for him?!"
00:15:58,374 --> 00:16:02,002 And then she suddenly shows up!
00:16:02,086 --> 00:16:03,086 Of course, I'd think that!
00:16:03,171 --> 00:16:06,256 I'm sure the Winry fans listening right now are like, "That's right!"
00:16:06,340 --> 00:16:09,885 So, the two of them running together here is totally unforgivable!
00:16:09,969 --> 00:16:12,053 It's like, "What the hell are you doing?!"
00:16:12,138 --> 00:16:15,223 And with a sunset in the background, too!
00:16:15,308 --> 00:16:17,809 "Don't you dare even step in the same room with him!"
00:16:20,563 --> 00:16:21,354 I know!
00:16:21,397 --> 00:16:25,442 It's jealousy. ¤ealousy! A sense of jealousy.
00:16:25,526 --> 00:16:27,068 Man, that's great. ¤reat opinion.
00:16:27,153 --> 00:16:30,864 I mean, in this hour and forty-six minutes of the film,
00:16:30,948 --> 00:16:35,285 Ed absolutely spends more time with Noah.
00:16:37,705 --> 00:16:40,999 I know, I know!
00:16:41,083 --> 00:16:43,251 But you know, as I worked on this,
00:16:43,336 --> 00:16:48,048 I really felt like I'd gone over to the ¤erman side.
00:16:48,132 --> 00:16:50,926 How do I put this?
00:16:51,010 --> 00:16:52,969 Like the first day of the recording...
00:16:53,054 --> 00:16:53,595 Since it took two days.
00:16:53,638 --> 00:16:58,225 Right, it took two days and on the first day, you all weren't there.
00:16:58,309 --> 00:17:01,645 You weren't there and I'm recording with all new people,
00:17:01,729 --> 00:17:07,108 like Shun-¤un and Kazuko-san and Miyuu-chan,
00:17:07,193 --> 00:17:11,071 so it was Fullmetal, but it felt like it was a different world.
00:17:11,155 --> 00:17:19,663 That's true. Except for Hughes, no one from the ¤ series was there.
00:17:19,747 --> 00:17:22,207 So, when everyone came later,
00:17:22,291 --> 00:17:26,336 I was like, "Ohhh!!! You're here!!!"
00:17:26,420 --> 00:17:30,173 That's true, when the military people came in to record,
00:17:30,258 --> 00:17:36,096 I heard chatter from the booth about how it felt like Fullmetal now.
00:17:36,180 --> 00:17:38,807 Those of us making it were so busy, we never even noticed that stuff,
00:17:38,891 --> 00:17:41,434 but now that you mention it...
00:17:41,519 --> 00:17:44,688 It seems I felt rather lonely. I only noticed it then,
00:17:44,772 --> 00:17:49,192 but the fact that I went, "Ohhh!" when I saw everyone shows I was lonely.
00:17:49,277 --> 00:17:50,277 If it were the other way around,
00:17:50,361 --> 00:17:54,239 it might've felt more like, "Oh, we're getting some fresh faces in here."
00:17:54,323 --> 00:17:56,616 But because that part came first...
00:17:56,701 --> 00:18:00,495 And I felt like I had to do something...
00:18:00,580 --> 00:18:06,126 Since I'd been doing a year of the Fullmetal anime,
00:18:06,210 --> 00:18:08,962 I know what the world is like and everything,
00:18:09,046 --> 00:18:16,511 so I felt like I had to work hard and stand up for that somehow.
00:18:19,974 --> 00:18:22,350 Why silent all of a sudden?
00:18:22,435 --> 00:18:24,769 This scene is kind of sketchy.
00:18:24,854 --> 00:18:27,230 Like, "Put a shirt on!"
00:18:27,315 --> 00:18:32,360 You sound like his mother.
00:18:32,445 --> 00:18:35,363 Like, "Keep your hair tied back!"
00:18:38,451 --> 00:18:43,997 The premise is that Noah's clothes are borrowed from ¤racia.
00:18:44,081 --> 00:18:45,415 I mean, they talk about it.
00:18:45,499 --> 00:18:47,751 It's amazing how well they fit her.
00:18:47,835 --> 00:18:50,503 It would look kind of lame if they didn't, so...
00:18:50,588 --> 00:18:53,840 She probably chose carefully for her.
00:18:53,924 --> 00:18:58,803 This is the very first scene I worked together with Miyuu-chan.
00:18:58,888 --> 00:19:03,350 With a wide shot like that, the mouths are small, so it's tough.
00:19:06,228 --> 00:19:10,357 We redid this scene many times, remember?
00:19:10,441 --> 00:19:12,233 Something about this...
00:19:12,318 --> 00:19:15,904 The changes in expression in anime are done through the tone of voice...
00:19:15,988 --> 00:19:18,490 So, to insert the performance,
00:19:18,574 --> 00:19:21,493 we try not to put too many intricate changes in their facial expressions,
00:19:21,577 --> 00:19:24,621 so that the nuances can come through
00:19:24,705 --> 00:19:29,459 and it's easier to superimpose the performance,
00:19:29,543 --> 00:19:33,254 but in this case, we'd drawn him with such detail.
00:19:33,339 --> 00:19:36,257 We had Park-san match every one of those shifts.
00:19:38,552 --> 00:19:40,261 It was like, "Oh, he's knitting his brows."
00:19:40,346 --> 00:19:45,767 Like, "There are two layers of emotions going on here."
00:19:45,851 --> 00:19:49,062 "Sorry, could you pick up on that part?" It was pretty detailed.
00:19:49,146 --> 00:19:51,147 After all, there were no colors.
00:19:51,232 --> 00:19:52,148 What? There were no colors here, either?
00:19:52,233 --> 00:19:54,109 No, there weren't.
00:19:54,193 --> 00:19:57,987 Yes, this part was storyboards.
00:19:58,072 --> 00:20:01,157 I feel bad.
00:20:01,242 --> 00:20:04,119 But you know, the other day...
00:20:04,203 --> 00:20:06,788 or rather, yesterday, we did the staff commentary,
00:20:06,872 --> 00:20:12,252 but leading up to that, working on various DVD extras,
00:20:12,336 --> 00:20:17,132 I was asked to show them past production materials
00:20:17,216 --> 00:20:18,508 and as I was looking around for stuff,
00:20:18,592 --> 00:20:20,802 I found the material we'd swapped in and out
00:20:20,886 --> 00:20:22,971 between cutting and laying the sound in.
00:20:23,055 --> 00:20:25,890 There's no color on them right up until we laid the sound in!
00:20:25,975 --> 00:20:29,144 I was shocked. We all were.
00:20:29,228 --> 00:20:32,981 "Wait... Hey, this says ¤une ¤ ¤th!"
00:20:33,065 --> 00:20:35,108 "We were supposed to get it done by the end of ¤une, right?"
00:20:35,192 --> 00:20:38,695 "Wow, I'm amazed we got it done in time!"
00:20:38,779 --> 00:20:39,988 But the staff did a great job.
00:20:40,072 --> 00:20:44,242 ¤ust now, we see ¤racia's face when Ed looks at her.
00:20:44,326 --> 00:20:46,619 That expression is just so...
00:20:46,704 --> 00:20:50,749 It really reminds you of the old ¤racia.
00:20:50,833 --> 00:20:54,252 They created a great, subtle expression for her.
00:20:54,336 --> 00:20:57,505 Those are the areas the animation directors worked hard on
00:20:57,590 --> 00:21:01,551 along with the animators.
00:21:03,304 --> 00:21:05,889 It really turned out well.
00:21:05,973 --> 00:21:12,103 And this Hughes doesn't look like a good person. This ¤erman version.
00:21:12,188 --> 00:21:15,231 Well, as an ordinary ¤erman citizen of this time period,
00:21:15,316 --> 00:21:17,692 he's a pretty normal character,
00:21:17,777 --> 00:21:22,363 but fundamentally, he's no different than the Hughes in the TV series.
00:21:22,448 --> 00:21:24,657 But based on how he grew up...
00:21:24,742 --> 00:21:30,246 Well, the atmosphere of this era has made him this kind of person
00:21:30,331 --> 00:21:33,291 and to depict that, we purposefully...
00:21:33,375 --> 00:21:35,668 How do I say this? We had Fujiwara-san play him
00:21:35,753 --> 00:21:39,130 and we created this sense of incongruity by placing him here.
00:21:39,215 --> 00:21:42,383 That was our aim in doing this.
00:21:42,468 --> 00:21:46,596 So, his feelings towards ¤racia are there
00:21:46,680 --> 00:21:53,478 and we've done some things that remind people of the alchemic world.
00:21:53,562 --> 00:21:58,983 And his basic kindness towards ¤racia and such are there.
00:21:59,068 --> 00:22:01,778 So, he's not just a product of the era,
00:22:01,862 --> 00:22:07,450 but he represents the sentiments of the ¤erman people of this era.
00:22:07,535 --> 00:22:09,160 If we did it with a new character,
00:22:09,245 --> 00:22:12,247 people would just see him as being that kind of character,
00:22:12,331 --> 00:22:15,124 but given the original personality of Hughes,
00:22:15,209 --> 00:22:17,460 you can look for the differences in this character.
00:22:17,545 --> 00:22:22,298 Though, I've heard some Hughes fans don't consider him to be Hughes.
00:22:22,383 --> 00:22:24,717 Oh, really? I didn't know.
00:22:24,802 --> 00:22:26,427 "He just looks the same!"
00:22:26,512 --> 00:22:31,182 But really, that scene at the start with Huskisson
00:22:31,267 --> 00:22:34,769 felt like a truly Fullmetal-like start,
00:22:34,854 --> 00:22:38,189 but beginning with the Roma song over here,
00:22:38,274 --> 00:22:43,987 there's this pervading atmosphere somehow.
00:22:44,071 --> 00:22:46,406 It's not any one specific thing,
00:22:46,490 --> 00:22:50,326 but the depiction is just full of this atmosphere.
00:22:50,411 --> 00:22:53,580 The atmosphere in ¤ermany back then...
00:22:53,664 --> 00:22:55,748 Well, Europe is headed towards World War II.
00:22:55,833 --> 00:23:02,088 Hitler will emerge after this and the Nazis will gain power,
00:23:02,172 --> 00:23:08,219 but they feel like they weren't really losing World War I,
00:23:08,304 --> 00:23:10,388 but that they had surrendered,
00:23:10,472 --> 00:23:14,809 because those in charge, like the nobility, had not been strong.
00:23:14,894 --> 00:23:16,519 Also, the persecution of the ¤ewish people.
00:23:16,604 --> 00:23:20,523 This sense that they had been profiting, rather than going to war.
00:23:20,608 --> 00:23:22,108 There were those kinds of societal trends
00:23:22,192 --> 00:23:25,111 and the entire country was in a real state of unrest.
00:23:25,195 --> 00:23:28,615 After all, depression always sets in when a country loses a war.
00:23:28,699 --> 00:23:32,869 So, by placing Ed into that sort of atmosphere,
00:23:32,953 --> 00:23:35,288 we can create this otherworldly feel,
00:23:35,372 --> 00:23:37,165 as well as recreate how things were back then.
00:23:37,249 --> 00:23:40,376 And rather than picking up on those things here and there,
00:23:40,461 --> 00:23:43,671 we tried showing the gloominess throughout the town
00:23:43,756 --> 00:23:46,257 and severely cutting down on the bright colors
00:23:46,342 --> 00:23:51,095 compared to the alchemic world to give it a flat look.
00:23:51,180 --> 00:23:53,640 So, the fact that you sense this atmosphere
00:23:53,724 --> 00:23:56,476 means those things worked the way they were supposed to
00:23:56,560 --> 00:23:59,270 and it makes me really glad.
00:23:59,355 --> 00:24:00,939 Somehow, this really...
00:24:01,023 --> 00:24:09,238 This era just clings to you. You can feel it in the air.
00:24:09,323 --> 00:24:12,283 There's nothing happy about it, after all.
00:24:12,368 --> 00:24:16,871 I think that's what really hits you.
00:24:16,956 --> 00:24:22,001 And that was something we really paid attention to.
00:24:22,086 --> 00:24:24,462 You know, Rie had a real tough time.
00:24:24,546 --> 00:24:26,297 --Really? --You were waiting that whole time.
00:24:26,382 --> 00:24:28,466 Right, the wait...
00:24:28,550 --> 00:24:30,218 Her part takes forever to show up, after all.
00:24:30,302 --> 00:24:33,054 She was here since the start,
00:24:33,138 --> 00:24:37,600 so staying psyched was tough, wasn't it?
00:24:37,685 --> 00:24:39,644 Wait, did you talk on the first day?
00:24:39,728 --> 00:24:42,605 I talked towards the very end.
00:24:42,690 --> 00:24:48,653 On the first day, I was talking towards the evening.
00:24:48,737 --> 00:24:52,073 Yeah, you were talking after the evening had set in.
00:24:52,157 --> 00:24:55,451 Until then, she was going outside for some fresh air and stuff.
00:24:55,536 --> 00:24:58,162 But still, even though she's not in the scenes,
00:24:58,247 --> 00:25:02,417 she was in the studio the whole time,
00:25:02,501 --> 00:25:06,504 so I thought, "I wonder if she's trying to stay psyched."
00:25:06,588 --> 00:25:09,841 No, I didn't know what to do.
00:25:09,925 --> 00:25:13,094 Well, you know, if I was going to be waiting this long,
00:25:13,178 --> 00:25:15,888 I thought I might have time to go out
00:25:15,973 --> 00:25:20,143 and kill some time at a caf¤ or something,
00:25:20,227 --> 00:25:22,729 but I thought that I shouldn't leave Park-san alone
00:25:22,813 --> 00:25:25,356 when she's having to work so hard and stuff.
00:25:25,441 --> 00:25:27,567 What the heck? You're a real nice guy.
00:25:27,651 --> 00:25:28,776 I was being a bit of a nice guy.
00:25:28,861 --> 00:25:31,738 If I had my way, I'd be like, "Excuse me, I'd like to go out,
00:25:31,822 --> 00:25:37,368 so please give me a call when you guys finish up."
00:25:37,453 --> 00:25:42,248 I know! I think I might've done just that.
00:25:42,332 --> 00:25:45,084 But in the end, I'm glad I stuck around.
00:25:45,169 --> 00:25:47,045 That's true.
00:25:49,631 --> 00:25:53,384 But you know, this Fullmetal is just so!
00:25:53,469 --> 00:25:54,719 What?
00:25:54,803 --> 00:26:01,893 You know?! There's never anything simple about it!
00:26:01,977 --> 00:26:05,605 I would've liked to see the first day.
00:26:05,689 --> 00:26:08,691 I couldn't get a good grasp on what the atmosphere was like, so...
00:26:08,776 --> 00:26:14,072 You know, it was totally different from the normal sessions.
00:26:14,156 --> 00:26:18,534 It was like, the staff members were different, too.
00:26:18,619 --> 00:26:20,745 It was all different from the start.
00:26:20,829 --> 00:26:22,413 The energy was completely different.
00:26:22,456 --> 00:26:26,501 --I think part of it was that it'd been a while. --People were way too wound up first thing in the morning
00:26:26,585 --> 00:26:29,545 and it was like a big festival going on.
00:26:29,630 --> 00:26:37,678 And right off the bat, it was like, "Over ten retakes? That's a-okay!"
00:26:37,763 --> 00:26:40,765 That's way too gung-ho!
00:26:40,849 --> 00:26:42,892 So, we'd be in the studio
00:26:42,976 --> 00:26:46,187 and we can see the staff people on the other side of the glass, right?
00:26:46,271 --> 00:26:50,817 Usually, they're all sitting, so you can't see them,
00:26:50,901 --> 00:26:53,986 but everyone was standing for some reason.
00:26:54,071 --> 00:26:57,198 I thought, "Wow, there's a lot of people here."
00:26:57,282 --> 00:26:58,783 There was this whole crowd standing there.
00:26:58,867 --> 00:27:01,119 There was one time it almost introduced noise into the recording.
00:27:01,203 --> 00:27:05,206 The staff people were suddenly roaring with laughter
00:27:05,582 --> 00:27:08,042 and we thought it might be people in the lobby,
00:27:08,127 --> 00:27:10,586 but when they went to ask people to keep it down,
00:27:10,671 --> 00:27:12,088 it turned out to be the staff people.
00:27:12,172 --> 00:27:13,881 It was like, "For real?!"
00:27:13,966 --> 00:27:16,008 I wonder what it was. What could they have found so funny?
00:27:16,093 --> 00:27:20,805 --Anyway, each and every reaction was pretty crazy. --I have no memory of that.
00:27:20,889 --> 00:27:22,682 Oh, really?
00:27:24,518 --> 00:27:27,562 And somewhere along the way, Fritz Lang has already appeared.
00:27:27,646 --> 00:27:33,484 Not only Fritz Lang, but Eckart has also appeared.
00:27:33,569 --> 00:27:37,488 This Fritz Lang-san was wonderful.
00:27:37,573 --> 00:27:38,948 Shibata-san was really great.
00:27:39,032 --> 00:27:40,867 He was.
00:27:40,951 --> 00:27:44,287 I was waiting, right? And when I was outside,
00:27:44,371 --> 00:27:46,956 Hidekatsu-san had come out,
00:27:47,040 --> 00:27:49,250 and he was like, "Man, this is rough!
00:27:49,334 --> 00:27:52,545 His personality is completely different!
00:27:52,629 --> 00:27:59,135 He's so young!" And he seemed to be enjoying himself.
00:27:59,219 --> 00:28:04,140 Well, Fritz Lang is in his ¤¤s in this movie.
00:28:04,224 --> 00:28:07,268 But we still had to have Shibata-san play him.
00:28:07,352 --> 00:28:10,313 But he was really wonderful!
00:28:10,397 --> 00:28:13,357 You know, it was just...
00:28:13,442 --> 00:28:16,819 What was it? Fuhrer Bradley.
00:28:16,904 --> 00:28:19,488 It almost makes you forget about Bradley,
00:28:19,573 --> 00:28:24,452 he's just so impish and jocular, and yet somehow quirky.
00:28:24,536 --> 00:28:29,081 And he'd created that character so precisely.
00:28:29,166 --> 00:28:31,209 When Bradley first appeared,
00:28:31,293 --> 00:28:36,464 he also came across as a kind of nice, easygoing grandpa, or guy,
00:28:36,548 --> 00:28:41,844 so the core is the same and we just got rid of the harsh side.
00:28:41,929 --> 00:28:44,013 And he's a character,
00:28:44,097 --> 00:28:49,727 who fundamentally doesn't put his sad background on display.
00:28:49,811 --> 00:28:52,104 Well, he's a movie director,
00:28:52,189 --> 00:28:56,025 so he wants to give people dreams to live for.
00:28:56,109 --> 00:29:00,863 So, he has this positive outlook and I wanted his character to have that.
00:29:00,948 --> 00:29:02,198 So, he's easygoing to the end.
00:29:02,282 --> 00:29:05,868 Well, just for a bit, when he tells Ed what his circumstances are,
00:29:05,953 --> 00:29:09,455 he comes across as having more of an edge.
00:29:09,539 --> 00:29:15,169 I felt like I got a glimpse of Hidekatsu-san's breadth.
00:29:15,254 --> 00:29:16,963 He really was great.
00:29:17,047 --> 00:29:20,132 Though, he told me, "It's fast!"
00:29:20,217 --> 00:29:24,762 --If you slow it down, it starts to sound older. --I remember him saying that.
00:29:24,846 --> 00:29:27,181 Since he's young, I thought I'd have him speak faster.
00:29:27,266 --> 00:29:28,599 Starting with the cutting,
00:29:28,684 --> 00:29:32,186 I'd kept his lines shorter than with Bradley for that purpose.
00:29:32,271 --> 00:29:35,356 And here it is, the snake.
00:29:35,440 --> 00:29:39,902 The dragon. Yamaguchi-san did all the hissing and growling for us.
00:29:39,987 --> 00:29:43,322 Really, she was hissing left and right.
00:29:45,534 --> 00:29:49,203 "What am I, a snake?!"
00:29:49,288 --> 00:29:54,000 And Eckart showed up, too. Kazuko-san was also just wonderful!
00:29:54,084 --> 00:29:57,837 --Yeah, she was great. --It just screamed "actress."
00:29:57,921 --> 00:30:03,092 When we'd decided to make Eckart a female character,
00:30:03,176 --> 00:30:07,263 we'd said from the start that it'd be Kato-san.
00:30:07,347 --> 00:30:12,518 During the TV series, her child was a fan of Fullmetal
00:30:12,602 --> 00:30:18,357 and during the recording her husband and child came to observe.
00:30:18,442 --> 00:30:19,483 And since back then,
00:30:19,568 --> 00:30:22,320 she'd been saying she'd like to play a part if the occasion ever came up,
00:30:22,404 --> 00:30:25,072 so it was like, "We gotta ask her to do it."
00:30:25,157 --> 00:30:32,204 When we were creating Eckart, we based it on the image Kato-san has.
00:30:32,289 --> 00:30:34,081 Yeah, so... How do I put this?
00:30:34,166 --> 00:30:39,128 She displayed this sort of actress's spirit even more than I'd imagined.
00:30:39,212 --> 00:30:41,464 She was amazing.
00:30:41,548 --> 00:30:46,719 But man, watching it on screen... It's just weird.
00:30:46,803 --> 00:30:48,596 --What is? --Isn't it weird?
00:30:48,680 --> 00:30:54,852 I mean, it was the "Fullmetal Alchemist,"
00:30:54,936 --> 00:31:00,733 but here we are in ¤ermany and there's these Roma people,
00:31:00,817 --> 00:31:08,240 and there's this complex just-lost-the-war atmosphere,
00:31:08,325 --> 00:31:10,826 then suddenly you have this dragon show up.
00:31:10,911 --> 00:31:12,161 What the heck is this?
00:31:12,245 --> 00:31:14,955 --We sure did whatever the heck we wanted, didn't we? --You sure did!
00:31:15,040 --> 00:31:19,960 I just don't get how all this fits into one world.
00:31:20,045 --> 00:31:23,631 Watching this again now, it makes me realize...
00:31:23,715 --> 00:31:26,217 You guys sure pulled off a tough job here.
00:31:26,301 --> 00:31:29,261 I suppose so.
00:31:30,680 --> 00:31:34,892 Well, this is a framework that works because we had the TV series.
00:31:34,976 --> 00:31:36,268 That's true.
00:31:36,353 --> 00:31:39,647 But we did make it so people who just watch the movie
00:31:39,731 --> 00:31:41,774 can sort of take it at face value.
00:31:41,858 --> 00:31:45,027 If someone got into Fullmetal through the film
00:31:45,112 --> 00:31:48,697 and then read the original works, they might be like, "Huh?"
00:31:48,782 --> 00:31:52,493 But I hope this will lead back to interest in the original works.
00:31:52,577 --> 00:31:55,704 --I see. --I realize it sounds like an excuse.
00:31:55,789 --> 00:31:58,624 But we did get permission from Arakawa-sensei,
00:31:58,708 --> 00:32:01,544 so I'm really grateful to her.
00:32:01,628 --> 00:32:07,174 Yeah, Arakawa-sensei is really amazing. She's an interesting person.
00:32:07,259 --> 00:32:10,428 She's really wonderful.
00:32:10,512 --> 00:32:13,556 Toyoguchi-san, have you met Arakawa-sense¤
00:32:13,640 --> 00:32:18,436 Well, at parties and things. That's about it.
00:32:18,520 --> 00:32:22,022 Her sketched portrait looks a lot like her, you know? That cow one?
00:32:22,107 --> 00:32:24,400 Oh, the cow!
00:32:24,484 --> 00:32:27,111 A sketched portrait of a cow?
00:32:27,195 --> 00:32:28,279 Huh?
00:32:28,363 --> 00:32:33,868 She draws cows, remember? For where her face would be, it's a cow.
00:32:33,952 --> 00:32:35,369 You mean she looks like a cow?
00:32:35,454 --> 00:32:37,121 Her sketched portrait!
00:32:37,205 --> 00:32:39,665 So the sketched portrait of the cow looks like the cow?
00:32:39,749 --> 00:32:41,208 No!
00:32:41,293 --> 00:32:46,088 Her sketched portrait clearly conveys the kind of person she is
00:32:46,173 --> 00:32:48,716 and we're saying that portrait is great.
00:32:48,800 --> 00:32:51,760 You must've forgotten! I know you know the cow.
00:32:51,845 --> 00:32:52,970 I know the cow.
00:32:53,054 --> 00:32:54,638 Oh, look, it's Father.
00:32:57,642 --> 00:32:59,894 A wonderful Father.
00:32:59,978 --> 00:33:02,104 There's Dad and Envy.
00:33:02,189 --> 00:33:05,357 Whoa, that's intense. The shining transmutation circle.
00:33:05,442 --> 00:33:06,775 So what do you make of it?
00:33:06,860 --> 00:33:08,360 What I said earlier.
00:33:08,445 --> 00:33:12,823 ¤ermany, Roma, just-lost-the-war, dragon, and a transmutation circle.
00:33:12,908 --> 00:33:14,700 Implausible, don't you think?
00:33:14,784 --> 00:33:16,160 --It is implausible, isn't it? --I know I'm repeating myself here, but...
00:33:16,244 --> 00:33:19,830 It feels really occult, doesn't it? This combination.
00:33:19,915 --> 00:33:22,041 --Oh, here they are. The armor army. --On top of which, we get armor.
00:33:22,125 --> 00:33:24,960 Look, there's tons of your brothers.
00:33:25,045 --> 00:33:27,254 And Rie's gotta do the voice for all of them.
00:33:27,339 --> 00:33:30,132 That's a lot of work!
00:33:30,217 --> 00:33:33,761 They're called the "Al model."
00:33:33,845 --> 00:33:37,890 This "To Shamballa" was wonderful, too.
00:33:37,974 --> 00:33:41,810 But for this "To Shamballa," Kazuko-san was nervous
00:33:41,895 --> 00:33:44,980 and it came out like, "To Shambarra!"
00:33:45,065 --> 00:33:47,858 We did a couple retakes.
00:33:47,943 --> 00:33:50,486 But it was almost like, "To Shambarra," was good enough...
00:33:50,570 --> 00:33:53,197 Here we are in the Fullmetal world.
00:33:53,281 --> 00:33:57,660 --The snowman's already there, quietly in the back. --He's there.
00:33:57,744 --> 00:34:00,704 This is the scene that surprised Okawa-san.
00:34:07,170 --> 00:34:11,257 This is a totally shriek-worthy moment.
00:34:11,341 --> 00:34:14,218 It's finger-snaps.
00:34:15,762 --> 00:34:17,888 He's shriek-worthy even in snow.
00:34:23,186 --> 00:34:26,522 Somehow, it's funny, you know?
00:34:30,485 --> 00:34:33,070 Why are you laughing?
00:34:33,154 --> 00:34:35,739 I'm just feeling nostalgic.
00:34:35,824 --> 00:34:37,116 It really does make you smile, doesn't it?
00:34:37,200 --> 00:34:39,577 Right? It's kind of comforting somehow,
00:34:39,661 --> 00:34:41,161 going back to the Fullmetal world.
00:34:41,246 --> 00:34:44,623 Everyone sure worked hard on it.
00:34:44,708 --> 00:34:46,375 For people who haven't seen the series,
00:34:46,459 --> 00:34:49,878 it might seem like just another new turn of events,
00:34:49,963 --> 00:34:52,881 but people who've watched the whole series
00:34:52,966 --> 00:34:56,844 probably felt like we're feeling right now.
00:34:56,928 --> 00:35:00,806 --It's like, "Here we go!" --A little comforting.
00:35:00,890 --> 00:35:04,685 It's only after twenty-some minutes since the start
00:35:04,769 --> 00:35:06,854 that you finally see the alchemic world.
00:35:06,938 --> 00:35:08,731 Oh, that's true.
00:35:08,815 --> 00:35:10,649 "It's not coming up. It's not coming up.
00:35:10,734 --> 00:35:14,194 Roy's not showing up. There he is! Shriek!"
00:35:14,279 --> 00:35:16,614 Apparently, a lot of people built up their expectations,
00:35:16,698 --> 00:35:18,782 then went, "What?"
00:35:18,867 --> 00:35:22,494 --For real? --Like, "Why's he so worn out?"
00:35:22,579 --> 00:35:23,954 --And no Hawkeye, either. --That's the good part...
00:35:24,039 --> 00:35:25,080 Hey, here we go!
00:35:25,165 --> 00:35:27,207 --All right! --There you are, Meg.
00:35:27,292 --> 00:35:29,168 You have a rather womanly figure now.
00:35:29,252 --> 00:35:32,046 Yeah, she really grew up, didn't she?
00:35:32,130 --> 00:35:35,549 Well, in terms of the design, she's the most different.
00:35:35,634 --> 00:35:38,135 Of the characters from the TV series.
00:35:38,219 --> 00:35:39,803 Like Sigu hasn't changed at all.
00:35:39,888 --> 00:35:41,972 --We used the same model sheets. --Now that you mention it.
00:35:42,057 --> 00:35:46,685 The way his stomach sticks out is great.
00:35:46,770 --> 00:35:50,189 It totally reminds me of you, the director.
00:35:50,273 --> 00:35:54,234 Well, I'm not the only one who's fat.
00:35:56,655 --> 00:36:02,368 But I was pretty surprised that Izumi-san had passed away.
00:36:02,452 --> 00:36:04,078 Well, when you get down to it,
00:36:04,162 --> 00:36:07,831 it's like, "Your innards are gone and you're still alive?"
00:36:07,916 --> 00:36:10,000 So, I did think she'd be short-lived.
00:36:10,085 --> 00:36:12,795 When I first read the script,
00:36:12,879 --> 00:36:17,091 I was told, "You know, I think it'd be better if Izumi's dead."
00:36:17,175 --> 00:36:19,927 And I thought, "What?"
00:36:20,011 --> 00:36:24,306 But to bring out Wrath like this,
00:36:24,391 --> 00:36:28,977 it's more effective if Izumi's dead.
00:36:30,063 --> 00:36:31,230 Also, there was that...
00:36:31,314 --> 00:36:35,234 It was pretty serious in the TV series, like coughing up blood.
00:36:35,318 --> 00:36:38,570 So when you take that into account, two years is...
00:36:38,655 --> 00:36:40,114 Here it is, here it is!
00:36:40,198 --> 00:36:42,908 It's Ed! It's Ed!
00:36:44,744 --> 00:36:46,245 So cute!
00:36:46,329 --> 00:36:47,579 Don't say that about yourself!
00:36:47,664 --> 00:36:52,710 --Is that the issue here? --Man, that was scary! That was totally clear!
00:36:56,715 --> 00:36:58,966 There's that rainbow and everything.
00:36:59,050 --> 00:37:01,844 It's a blessing.
00:37:04,305 --> 00:37:08,225 Oh, when this music starts up...
00:37:08,309 --> 00:37:10,227 Here it is, here it is!
00:37:10,311 --> 00:37:12,229 Here it is!
00:37:12,313 --> 00:37:14,690 --Armstrong-san is fabulous. --He's the best.
00:37:14,774 --> 00:37:16,358 --Look here! --Daddy's there, you know.
00:37:16,443 --> 00:37:18,902 Mommy and his kid sister, too.
00:37:18,987 --> 00:37:22,614 Daddy's been doing this the whole time since the TV series.
00:37:26,703 --> 00:37:28,579 He's so hardcore.
00:37:30,665 --> 00:37:31,832 --Scary! --Twinkle.
00:37:31,916 --> 00:37:34,793 You wouldn't want buildings like this all over town.
00:37:34,878 --> 00:37:38,797 I never thought this shopkeeper would show up for so long.
00:37:38,882 --> 00:37:42,342 I know! It's like, "Even in the movie?!"
00:37:45,680 --> 00:37:48,474 And then you suddenly get this turn of events.
00:37:48,558 --> 00:37:53,187 I guess Liore had grown quite a bit since the beginning.
00:37:53,271 --> 00:37:56,356 With that ice cream thing built there.
00:37:56,441 --> 00:37:59,234 Armstrong's built quite a few buildings at this point.
00:37:59,319 --> 00:38:02,279 --Yeah, it looks like a fantasy setting. --The kids are tiny.
00:38:05,992 --> 00:38:07,618 Yeah...
00:38:11,706 --> 00:38:16,210 I didn't think Houko-chan would be showing up here, too.
00:38:19,339 --> 00:38:21,465 Here they come. So creepy! They're creepy!
00:38:21,549 --> 00:38:23,801 If something like this really happened, it'd be scary!
00:38:23,885 --> 00:38:26,261 --No kidding. --It ¤iul¤ be scary.
00:38:26,346 --> 00:38:29,181 The shambling way they come out is really...
00:38:29,265 --> 00:38:30,974 It's like, "Where the heck did they come from?"
00:38:31,059 --> 00:38:33,352 But this is amazing here. The armors haven't attacked anyone,
00:38:33,436 --> 00:38:37,105 but Al is already blasting them away with the tornado.
00:38:37,190 --> 00:38:41,109 Whoops. ¤umping to conclusions?
00:38:41,194 --> 00:38:43,904 That's true. They just showed up.
00:38:43,988 --> 00:38:47,866 They might've just come by to say hi.
00:38:47,951 --> 00:38:50,994 That was a bit of taking a dig at ourselves.
00:38:51,079 --> 00:38:53,247 Al has softer hair, you know?
00:38:53,331 --> 00:38:55,916 Oh, that's true.
00:38:56,000 --> 00:38:58,126 --Wonderful, isn't it? --What are you, stupid?
00:38:58,211 --> 00:38:59,127 So he has silky hair?
00:38:59,212 --> 00:39:00,754 He has silky hair.
00:39:00,839 --> 00:39:02,381 Look, here, too. Here, too.
00:39:02,465 --> 00:39:05,175 There's Sheska.
00:39:05,260 --> 00:39:08,345 My partner.
00:39:10,139 --> 00:39:11,139 It's a big deal now.
00:39:11,224 --> 00:39:14,268 They all start showing up around here.
00:39:14,352 --> 00:39:16,979 This was like the one line Ross had.
00:39:17,063 --> 00:39:20,732 We're just thinking we gotta give them all an appearance, so...
00:39:20,817 --> 00:39:23,902 But you know, with them popping up one after another,
00:39:23,987 --> 00:39:28,991 it's only these little scenes, but it makes you happy, doesn't it?
00:39:29,075 --> 00:39:30,242 Oh, there's Ed!
00:39:34,122 --> 00:39:36,081 Oh, dear...
00:39:36,165 --> 00:39:40,878 The shape of the armor is really scary, even though they're round.
00:39:40,962 --> 00:39:42,254 I mean, this is ¤¤, right?
00:39:42,338 --> 00:39:44,339 We used some ¤D around here.
00:39:44,424 --> 00:39:48,427 It's incredible. They're all writhing about.
00:39:53,224 --> 00:39:56,393 --This is just sort of... --Al speaks so clearly.
00:39:56,477 --> 00:39:59,062 It's like, you finally don't have to talk in a separate booth.
00:39:59,147 --> 00:40:04,234 The refreshing feeling is really there.
00:40:04,319 --> 00:40:07,696 You were always alone, in the booth all by yourself.
00:40:07,780 --> 00:40:12,534 But you know, doing that clap, he's transferring his soul, right?
00:40:12,619 --> 00:40:15,078 Right, right. Transferring a portion of it.
00:40:15,163 --> 00:40:16,914 ¤ust saying that with a big smile is not really...
00:40:16,998 --> 00:40:19,124 You just repeated what she said.
00:40:19,208 --> 00:40:24,504 So, what? I'm transferring it. What about it?
00:40:24,589 --> 00:40:26,632 Somehow...
00:40:26,716 --> 00:40:28,467 Is that a transmutation, too?
00:40:28,551 --> 00:40:30,093 Well, it isn't strictly transmutation.
00:40:30,178 --> 00:40:37,517 In other words, he's found a way to transfer his soul.
00:40:37,602 --> 00:40:40,979 See, because there are transmutation circles drawn on the gloves,
00:40:41,064 --> 00:40:48,111 it's basically linked to the act of transmuting to transfer his soul.
00:40:48,196 --> 00:40:50,197 I mean, if he doesn't put his hands together,
00:40:50,281 --> 00:40:56,870 it starts to become pointless to make him look like his big brother.
00:40:56,955 --> 00:40:59,289 Oh, the armor just twitched!
00:40:59,374 --> 00:41:02,501 Those armor are mechanized.
00:41:02,585 --> 00:41:07,506 So, if you touch them a little, some kind of...
00:41:07,590 --> 00:41:08,799 But wait, there are people in them, right?
00:41:08,883 --> 00:41:10,217 There are people in them, too.
00:41:10,301 --> 00:41:15,263 In other words, they're bigger than needed to fit a human
00:41:15,348 --> 00:41:20,978 and basically, there's machinery inside to amplify their strength.
00:41:21,062 --> 00:41:25,732 They're bleeding edge technology to start with for that era.
00:41:25,817 --> 00:41:26,566 I love this scene.
00:41:26,609 --> 00:41:29,277 And when he let go, the transmutation circle is glowing.
00:41:29,362 --> 00:41:30,237 What? I didn't see it!
00:41:30,321 --> 00:41:33,073 --The ones drawn on his hands. They should be. --Oh, I didn't know!
00:41:33,157 --> 00:41:35,117 --Talk about detailed! --It's because he did the transfer there
00:41:35,201 --> 00:41:38,078 that later, Al's soul is in the real world.
00:41:38,162 --> 00:41:40,455 I see!
00:41:40,540 --> 00:41:44,001 --We talked a lot about how to depict that. --So detailed!
00:41:44,085 --> 00:41:47,379 I don't think anyone saw it.
00:41:47,463 --> 00:41:52,217 --It's like, "Sorry." --Wow, I didn't notice that.
00:41:52,301 --> 00:41:54,928 I feel bad, because there's so much that's hard to explain well.
00:42:00,059 --> 00:42:02,227 I see.
00:42:04,897 --> 00:42:06,148 So anyway,
00:42:06,232 --> 00:42:12,237 --we've got a nice spread of rice balls, iina¤i, buns with bean-jam, --Hurray!
00:42:12,321 --> 00:42:16,199 oriental marron glace, and various other things.
00:42:16,284 --> 00:42:20,620 Incidentally, I'm eating a rice ball filled with salmon.
00:42:20,705 --> 00:42:23,415 --So, what everyone's eating... --And as we eat...
00:42:23,499 --> 00:42:25,751 --Seasoned mixed rice. --I got one with cod roe.
00:42:25,835 --> 00:42:26,877 It's delicious.
00:42:26,961 --> 00:42:28,587 Meg, do you want something else?
00:42:28,671 --> 00:42:31,381 --Yeah, what do you want? --I'm totally done eating here.
00:42:31,466 --> 00:42:35,510 There's cod roe, pickled plums, salmon, and iina¤i.
00:42:35,595 --> 00:42:37,387 There's supposed to be shusse ina¤i ¤"advancement ina¤i"¤...
00:42:37,472 --> 00:42:39,222 I'd like to advance in life, so I'll take a s¤usse ina¤i.
00:42:39,307 --> 00:42:41,224 ...but I don't know which one is which.
00:42:41,309 --> 00:42:42,809 Isn't it those that are a little...
00:42:42,894 --> 00:42:44,019 The upside down ones?
00:42:44,103 --> 00:42:44,853 These?
00:42:44,896 --> 00:42:46,605 --No, aren't these it? --So, these are the shusse ina¤i.
00:42:46,689 --> 00:42:49,149 --These are the normal iina¤i¤ right? --You'll have to explain the shapes...
00:42:49,233 --> 00:42:53,111 The way they look is... What is this?
00:42:53,196 --> 00:42:57,157 We have both ones with things being flipped upside down
00:42:57,241 --> 00:43:02,120 and the normal shiny ones.
00:43:02,205 --> 00:43:05,248 There's a meal scene on screen just now, so it's kind of perfect.
00:43:05,333 --> 00:43:07,167 Eating together.
00:43:07,251 --> 00:43:10,337 And those of you listening, please watch as you eat, too.
00:43:10,421 --> 00:43:12,422 Director, you want to swap cod roe and salmon?
00:43:12,507 --> 00:43:15,550 I haven't even gotten to the stuff inside yet.
00:43:15,635 --> 00:43:19,096 --There's still more. --Maybe I can split it... Nope, impossible.
00:43:19,180 --> 00:43:22,015 She took it. Oh, well.
00:43:22,100 --> 00:43:25,102 This cod roe looks good.
00:43:25,186 --> 00:43:27,145 This is bliss.
00:43:27,230 --> 00:43:30,315 You know, you guys all talk. I'm all about the cod roe right now.
00:43:30,399 --> 00:43:32,859 Don't worry.
00:43:32,944 --> 00:43:36,404 She's putting the rice on top of her tea.
00:43:36,489 --> 00:43:38,782 --It'll get warm. --The scene with the TBS reporters just passed.
00:43:38,866 --> 00:43:45,247 Oh, now that you mention it, there were some reporters in there.
00:43:45,331 --> 00:43:48,583 Wow, the cod roe is good!
00:43:48,668 --> 00:43:50,669 There's still one left.
00:43:53,214 --> 00:43:54,589 Everyone's so focused on eating...
00:43:54,674 --> 00:43:56,091 Yeah, we are.
00:43:56,175 --> 00:43:59,761 Oh, I like Ed here, he looks cool.
00:43:59,846 --> 00:44:01,555 Really?
00:44:01,639 --> 00:44:02,389 Doesn't he look cool?
00:44:02,431 --> 00:44:05,100 --He got through because he's so small. --What?
00:44:05,184 --> 00:44:08,520 Oh, he got through because he's small.
00:44:08,604 --> 00:44:12,190 Whoa, hold on a sec. I'm happily eating here
00:44:12,275 --> 00:44:13,108 and what the hell did you just say?
00:44:13,192 --> 00:44:15,277 He got through because he's small.
00:44:15,361 --> 00:44:18,405 --She said it again. --Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey!
00:44:18,489 --> 00:44:20,782 I ain't small, damn it!
00:44:20,867 --> 00:44:24,619 Oh, right. You're still small, even when you're grown.
00:44:24,704 --> 00:44:25,912 What the hell did you say?!
00:44:25,997 --> 00:44:27,747 She's saying it over and over.
00:44:27,832 --> 00:44:31,376 You've said way too much!
00:44:31,460 --> 00:44:35,338 But you know, from here, he touches the blood on his cheek
00:44:35,423 --> 00:44:38,091 and then he touches the transmutation circle. It was funny.
00:44:38,176 --> 00:44:40,010 What was funny?
00:44:40,094 --> 00:44:41,553 What do you mean? Is it a joke?
00:44:41,637 --> 00:44:43,638 What kind of joke is it?
00:44:43,723 --> 00:44:46,141 I can't hear what you're saying.
00:44:46,225 --> 00:44:49,477 Mumbling with food in your mouth.
00:44:49,562 --> 00:44:51,521 Sorry, Dad. I got scolded.
00:44:51,606 --> 00:44:55,233 "Dad"!
00:44:55,318 --> 00:44:58,570 --Well, I'm sure this isn't something people get to hear often, --Bad manners.
00:44:58,654 --> 00:44:59,863 so it could be interesting.
00:44:59,947 --> 00:45:03,742 I got scolded. Does that taste like advancement?
00:45:03,826 --> 00:45:05,994 Yeah, it's good.
00:45:06,078 --> 00:45:08,955 What? Sorry, I was watching my own performance.
00:45:11,709 --> 00:45:13,585 This is getting to be pretty unrestrained.
00:45:13,669 --> 00:45:14,544 Yeah, it is.
00:45:14,629 --> 00:45:18,256 --What's wrong with that? --Now if we only had some alcohol.
00:45:18,341 --> 00:45:21,468 What kind of party is this?
00:45:21,552 --> 00:45:23,637 It's a "Let's watch Fullmetal" party.
00:45:23,721 --> 00:45:24,554 That's fun.
00:45:24,639 --> 00:45:26,556 Hey, gimme a bite of the shusse ina¤i.
00:45:26,641 --> 00:45:28,266 Sure. Here you go.
00:45:28,351 --> 00:45:30,060 Oh, this looks good.
00:45:30,144 --> 00:45:36,149 What about it is advancement-like? Is the s¤usse yummy?
00:45:36,234 --> 00:45:38,610 It's good! ¤an I eat half of it?
00:45:38,694 --> 00:45:39,694 Sure, go ahead and eat it.
00:45:39,779 --> 00:45:41,154 It's super good!
00:45:41,239 --> 00:45:42,197 Oh, there's blood on his glove!
00:45:42,281 --> 00:45:44,199 You're right!
00:45:44,283 --> 00:45:48,286 This thing lights up now because it got blood on it.
00:45:48,371 --> 00:45:50,372 --Even though they're in the real world, too. --And then we get Envy's voice,
00:45:50,456 --> 00:45:52,707 "Pipsqueak." The hell you call me?!
00:45:58,339 --> 00:46:00,465 You know, Ed sure is a troublesome guy.
00:46:00,549 --> 00:46:06,054 The gate wouldn't have opened if he hadn't redrawn the circle.
00:46:06,138 --> 00:46:08,431 --There it was again. "Shamballa." --And who was it that drew that?
00:46:08,516 --> 00:46:11,268 --Oh, sorry. --That's right.
00:46:11,352 --> 00:46:14,062 Oh, here they all come out.
00:46:14,146 --> 00:46:17,190 For the design of the transmutation circles,
00:46:17,275 --> 00:46:20,193 what kind of inspirations were used?
00:46:20,278 --> 00:46:24,114 You know how there are all kinds?
00:46:24,198 --> 00:46:27,492 Are they all that individual's original design?
00:46:27,576 --> 00:46:31,288 Well, that's true for the people of the alchemic world.
00:46:31,372 --> 00:46:36,543 With the transmutation circles of the people of the alchemic world,
00:46:36,627 --> 00:46:39,379 each person has their own basic form
00:46:39,463 --> 00:46:41,214 and when we turned it into a TV series,
00:46:41,299 --> 00:46:44,968 we thought we could just have each person have one circle
00:46:45,052 --> 00:46:47,178 and do all sorts of things with it,
00:46:47,263 --> 00:46:49,431 but it's not visually interesting,
00:46:49,515 --> 00:46:54,686 so we'd take that design and add more details to it.
00:46:54,770 --> 00:46:56,813 So like, you'd add a little here to do a certain thing?
00:46:56,897 --> 00:46:57,856 Right, right, right.
00:46:57,940 --> 00:47:01,234 The ones in the real world are not transmutation, but magic circles,
00:47:01,319 --> 00:47:03,862 so we made them more recognizable with runes and stuff.
00:47:03,946 --> 00:47:05,613 So, by inserting those things,
00:47:05,698 --> 00:47:09,326 they look similar, but they're different types.
00:47:09,410 --> 00:47:12,537 Wow, this shusse ina¤i is seriously good.
00:47:12,621 --> 00:47:15,248 Thank you for your positive comment.
00:47:18,461 --> 00:47:20,253 I see.
00:47:20,338 --> 00:47:23,757 But that's not to say there's a whole lot of meaning behind them.
00:47:23,841 --> 00:47:27,135 We used actual magic circles in records
00:47:27,219 --> 00:47:31,639 and transmutation... I mean, alchemic marks...
00:47:31,724 --> 00:47:34,225 It's delicious.
00:47:34,310 --> 00:47:36,561 ...for the motifs. Pay attention!
00:47:36,645 --> 00:47:39,606 I'm listening! Wow, the ina¤i's good, too.
00:47:39,690 --> 00:47:43,651 Then maybe I'll have one later.
00:47:43,736 --> 00:47:45,862 Oh, Ed's talking.
00:47:45,946 --> 00:47:49,324 You're pointing out the flaws in your own performance.
00:47:49,408 --> 00:47:54,204 That was good, Ed. That expression was good.
00:47:54,288 --> 00:47:57,540 Well, it's not like the art is finished when you're doing the voice.
00:47:57,625 --> 00:48:01,503 Oh, awesome! That was awesome! You're doing good, Ed!
00:48:01,587 --> 00:48:04,964 Okay, run! Run! Run, run! Okay, jump in!
00:48:05,049 --> 00:48:09,052 That'd be painful, seriously.
00:48:09,136 --> 00:48:12,138 Oh, here's the armor Al once again.
00:48:12,223 --> 00:48:13,765 --Scary! --So cute!
00:48:13,849 --> 00:48:16,810 It's scary!
00:48:16,894 --> 00:48:19,354 Whoops!
00:48:22,316 --> 00:48:23,525 --Al's eyes are going to show up... --Ouch, ouch, ouch!
00:48:23,609 --> 00:48:24,943 Man, he's so cute!
00:48:25,027 --> 00:48:26,736 Al has his eyes closed here. See?
00:48:26,821 --> 00:48:28,321 You're right!
00:48:28,406 --> 00:48:31,449 We didn't do that in the series. We weren't allowed to,
00:48:31,534 --> 00:48:33,493 --but the ban was sort of lifted for the movie. --I had no idea!
00:48:33,577 --> 00:48:34,953 Why couldn't you do it?
00:48:35,037 --> 00:48:37,038 He didn't have eye-blinks and things in the series.
00:48:37,123 --> 00:48:40,250 --He didn't? --Well, it's not like he's alive, so...
00:48:40,334 --> 00:48:45,004 And this one... got approved somehow.
00:48:45,089 --> 00:48:49,759 Well, this is different than the Al armor from before,
00:48:49,844 --> 00:48:51,302 since he's only transferred his soul into it,
00:48:51,387 --> 00:48:53,221 so it's like, "Maybe it's okay for it to be a little different."
00:48:53,305 --> 00:48:58,268 Oh, but it was easy to see that his soul was inside for this movie.
00:48:58,352 --> 00:49:01,104 When Al transfers his soul into other ones, their eyes glow, too.
00:49:01,188 --> 00:49:04,107 I love this scene.
00:49:04,191 --> 00:49:07,944 This was fun, wasn't it?
00:49:08,028 --> 00:49:12,657 They run off yelling and screaming. It's like, "Why?"
00:49:12,741 --> 00:49:15,034 Even as Ed's telling Al they're going, Ed's not running.
00:49:15,119 --> 00:49:18,079 He's hanging on. Like, "¤o, Al!"
00:49:18,164 --> 00:49:20,415 "Al No. ¤ , go!"
00:49:20,499 --> 00:49:24,502 He's turned into a ride.
00:49:24,587 --> 00:49:26,337 That shouting was great.
00:49:26,422 --> 00:49:29,424 We didn't understand the meaning of the yelling here.
00:49:29,508 --> 00:49:36,222 Right, then we got told, "Yell and scare them."
00:49:37,475 --> 00:49:40,143 We were told to run off as we scared them.
00:49:40,227 --> 00:49:41,853 And I was like, "What the heck is that about?"
00:49:41,937 --> 00:49:43,021 I know!
00:49:43,105 --> 00:49:46,900 But it was fun, wasn't it? It'd been so long.
00:49:46,984 --> 00:49:51,863 At the beginning of the movie, we were both kind of nervous,
00:49:51,947 --> 00:49:56,367 but that nervous energy got channeled in a different direction
00:49:56,452 --> 00:49:58,745 and we got to meet each other for the first time in a long while,
00:49:58,829 --> 00:50:00,747 so it was ¤eal¤ fun!
00:50:00,831 --> 00:50:02,248 I agree.
00:50:02,333 --> 00:50:03,249 I thought a little more,
00:50:03,334 --> 00:50:07,003 "We finally got to see each other," kind of thing would be nice,
00:50:07,087 --> 00:50:11,799 but I was like, "We get to make this racket, so who cares?"
00:50:11,884 --> 00:50:15,428 This is the best you'll get from a reunion between the two of us.
00:50:15,513 --> 00:50:17,180 This was our reunion.
00:50:17,264 --> 00:50:21,267 --Oh, once again! --Here it is!
00:50:21,352 --> 00:50:23,520 I love this part, too.
00:50:23,604 --> 00:50:25,104 See?
00:50:27,191 --> 00:50:29,067 --"Brother..." --So cute!
00:50:29,151 --> 00:50:33,071 I love this part, too.
00:50:33,155 --> 00:50:35,448 Toyoguchi-san, you're not saying much.
00:50:35,533 --> 00:50:38,117 I'm eating a bit here, so...
00:50:38,202 --> 00:50:39,577 Oh, so it's not about having no screen time.
00:50:39,662 --> 00:50:41,329 She's being well-mannered.
00:50:41,413 --> 00:50:43,831 No, not at all. It was a quiet scene, so...
00:50:43,916 --> 00:50:46,042 I thought maybe you were saving up your rage or something.
00:50:46,126 --> 00:50:51,339 No, no, no, no! My explosion will come a little later.
00:50:51,423 --> 00:50:53,091 We got our warning.
00:50:53,175 --> 00:50:54,968 Scary.
00:51:01,850 --> 00:51:04,269 His brows are knitted together as always.
00:51:04,353 --> 00:51:06,771 You're right.
00:51:09,233 --> 00:51:11,109 --It's so captivating. --It is captivating.
00:51:11,193 --> 00:51:12,360 It's kind of quiet, huh?
00:51:12,444 --> 00:51:14,404 Oh, sorry, I just really love this scene.
00:51:14,488 --> 00:51:18,324 Oh, you're quietly enjoying it.
00:51:18,409 --> 00:51:20,868 You sure look happy.
00:51:20,953 --> 00:51:25,999 It's gratifying that you want to watch.
00:51:26,083 --> 00:51:28,251 --Yeah, really, I wonder how they opened it, Al. --Oh, he rattled.
00:51:28,335 --> 00:51:30,086 What's wrong, Al? What's wrong?
00:51:30,170 --> 00:51:33,339 I can only last three minutes. Sorry, Brother!
00:51:33,424 --> 00:51:34,340 It's kinda continuing.
00:51:34,425 --> 00:51:39,721 You're rattling and doesn't it look like you're kinda floating up?
00:51:39,805 --> 00:51:43,224 You know, Al's rattling, but Ed's not rattling, even though he's touching Al.
00:51:43,309 --> 00:51:46,185 --You're right. --You're right.
00:51:46,270 --> 00:51:48,605 We argued about how much to move things...
00:51:48,689 --> 00:51:51,566 Well, we didn't argue. We debated it,
00:51:51,650 --> 00:51:53,860 but we decided it was okay, because it won't really bother people.
00:51:53,944 --> 00:51:55,153 "No one will notice."
00:51:55,237 --> 00:51:56,195 I love this part!
00:51:56,280 --> 00:51:59,407 Oh, this onset of emotion.
00:51:59,491 --> 00:52:03,328 At first, I wasn't able to convey the right image well to the artist
00:52:03,412 --> 00:52:06,080 and what I got was this creepy smile.
00:52:06,165 --> 00:52:08,249 It made Al look like a bad guy.
00:52:08,334 --> 00:52:11,586 I mean, the note also said, "A ghastly smile," or something.
00:52:11,670 --> 00:52:13,129 Right, right, right, right.
00:52:13,213 --> 00:52:17,508 And I thought, "What does 'ghastly' mean given this situation?!"
00:52:17,593 --> 00:52:19,093 Sorry, it's in the storyboards...
00:52:19,178 --> 00:52:23,181 What the storyboards had was also a direct copy of the script,
00:52:23,265 --> 00:52:25,475 so nobody understood until I said, "It's a bit more happy than that."
00:52:25,559 --> 00:52:26,684 I totally didn't get it.
00:52:26,769 --> 00:52:28,936 It was like, "He should be happy, so what is this?"
00:52:29,021 --> 00:52:33,316 It was supposed to refer to a smile that makes you scrunch your face.
00:52:33,400 --> 00:52:35,234 The art turned out the way it's supposed to be.
00:52:35,319 --> 00:52:37,111 But during the recording,
00:52:37,196 --> 00:52:42,492 it might've been the face that I just said wasn't right.
00:52:44,787 --> 00:52:47,413 Oh, the "d'you know" will be coming up soon.
00:52:54,755 --> 00:52:58,216 "Do you know what Ufa is?" Sounds like "d'you know" to me.
00:52:58,300 --> 00:53:00,510 What?! Stupid!
00:53:00,594 --> 00:53:04,180 What the hell?! I was watching it seriously just now!
00:53:04,264 --> 00:53:09,352 --You can't watch it seriously for the audio commentary. --That's true. Fine.
00:53:09,436 --> 00:53:11,896 I'll watch it seriously at home.
00:53:15,359 --> 00:53:17,652 Man, I love that scene. That whole segment.
00:53:17,736 --> 00:53:23,116 It makes me feel all warm.
00:53:23,200 --> 00:53:25,243 It makes me teary-eyed.
00:53:27,162 --> 00:53:29,122 Winry sure grew up.
00:53:29,206 --> 00:53:31,165 You've become a fine woman.
00:53:31,250 --> 00:53:32,375 But you know, it's like,
00:53:32,459 --> 00:53:34,711 "Put yourself in the shoes of the person waiting for you."
00:53:34,795 --> 00:53:37,255 Oh, here we go.
00:53:37,339 --> 00:53:40,425 --You know? --But it's not like he left because he wanted to.
00:53:40,509 --> 00:53:41,968 That's true.
00:53:42,052 --> 00:53:47,724 But you know, Ed knows she's there.
00:53:47,808 --> 00:53:50,017 He knows everyone's alive.
00:53:50,102 --> 00:53:53,521 And Al doesn't have any memories anymore,
00:53:53,605 --> 00:53:55,106 so he can just go, "I wonder if it's all true."
00:53:55,190 --> 00:54:00,111 But she knows Ed's around, and with him suddenly going missing,
00:54:00,195 --> 00:54:01,696 the waiting would be long.
00:54:01,780 --> 00:54:03,406 It would be long.
00:54:03,490 --> 00:54:05,074 Really, it'd be terrible.
00:54:05,159 --> 00:54:06,743 You'll make a great granny.
00:54:06,827 --> 00:54:08,035 You'll definitely be a great granny.
00:54:08,120 --> 00:54:10,538 --¤ranny? You're thinking way ahead. --You'll become like ¤ranny Pinako.
00:54:10,622 --> 00:54:11,873 --Really? --Definitely!
00:54:11,957 --> 00:54:15,084 That makes me happy, since I look up to ¤ranny.
00:54:17,254 --> 00:54:21,174 But ¤ranny Pinako sure had great charm!
00:54:21,258 --> 00:54:23,301 Really, everyone's got such short scenes,
00:54:23,385 --> 00:54:25,803 but they have such great charm.
00:54:25,888 --> 00:54:27,221 It's so wonderful.
00:54:27,306 --> 00:54:30,057 ¤ome to think of it, I played ¤ranny when she was young in the series.
00:54:30,142 --> 00:54:31,267 You were laughing.
00:54:31,351 --> 00:54:33,519 Though, all I did was laugh.
00:54:33,604 --> 00:54:35,980 I was wondering who was playing her and it was like, "Me?!"
00:54:36,064 --> 00:54:40,443 You're going to become like ¤ranny Pinako, too, Meg.
00:54:40,527 --> 00:54:42,612 Meg? So, it's not Winry?
00:54:42,696 --> 00:54:45,072 Me? So it's me?
00:54:45,157 --> 00:54:48,284 Yeah, you're going to start packing fermented soybeans.
00:54:48,368 --> 00:54:49,285 In my hair.
00:54:49,369 --> 00:54:52,955 Fermenting in your hair.
00:54:53,040 --> 00:54:54,749 And while we were saying that, here's Fritz Lang.
00:54:54,833 --> 00:54:59,003 This is the scene Shibata-san said was long.
00:54:59,087 --> 00:55:01,714 This part definitely was tough.
00:55:03,383 --> 00:55:07,011 But man, Shibata-san's charm is wonderful.
00:55:08,472 --> 00:55:13,559 He changed his performance a bit here to match the talking.
00:55:13,644 --> 00:55:16,479 It was great.
00:55:25,030 --> 00:55:26,948 There's the rainbow.
00:55:27,032 --> 00:55:29,408 --Yeah! Here she is! --Here she is!
00:55:29,493 --> 00:55:30,159 Here she is, here she is!
00:55:30,202 --> 00:55:32,078 The adlibbing actress.
00:55:34,164 --> 00:55:36,958 Hey, man, you're leaving after doing just that?!
00:55:37,042 --> 00:55:38,167 You're done?!
00:55:38,252 --> 00:55:40,336 You're done already?!
00:55:40,420 --> 00:55:41,170 Like, "Thank you for your hard work."
00:55:41,213 --> 00:55:43,548 I'm sure many would've killed for an appearance like that.
00:55:43,632 --> 00:55:44,924 That's true.
00:55:45,008 --> 00:55:47,051 Like Scar-san...
00:55:47,135 --> 00:55:49,720 You have no idea what an earful I got from Sato Yuuko.
00:55:49,805 --> 00:55:53,266 --So you heard from them. --He kept going on about it. "I haven't been asked to come in."
00:55:53,350 --> 00:55:59,063 Okiayu-san was like, "I was in there!"
00:55:59,147 --> 00:56:02,692 He said you could've inserted some adlib there, right?
00:56:02,776 --> 00:56:05,361 We could've, definitely.
00:56:05,445 --> 00:56:08,072 --And Kakazu-san got a scene. --Everyone wants to be in it.
00:56:08,156 --> 00:56:10,491 But you know, on the day of the recording,
00:56:10,576 --> 00:56:12,535 the previous scene is a wide shot and she walks up there,
00:56:12,619 --> 00:56:16,873 so I said, "Shall we add a line, like maybe, 'Hello, Lang-san,'
00:56:16,957 --> 00:56:18,082 since she's come all this way."
00:56:18,166 --> 00:56:20,209 But Mima-san said, "We don't need it."
00:56:22,379 --> 00:56:25,131 --What a joke. --And I was like, "R-Right, of course."
00:56:25,215 --> 00:56:30,344 I don't think we need it, but these little pangs of conscience...
00:56:30,429 --> 00:56:33,681 It's only a little line.
00:56:33,765 --> 00:56:37,476 Oh, there it is! The connection with the scene at the beginning!
00:56:42,858 --> 00:56:47,194 But I sure would've liked to see what Fritz Lang actually looked like.
00:56:47,279 --> 00:56:50,239 Oh, did we never show you any photos?
00:56:50,324 --> 00:56:53,492 I hear he was very handsome.
00:56:53,577 --> 00:56:57,538 --You and those rice balls... --Aren't you eating an a¤ul lot?
00:56:57,623 --> 00:57:02,335 You've just been chowing down.
00:57:02,419 --> 00:57:04,754 But you know, depicting Nazi ¤ermany in anime
00:57:04,838 --> 00:57:07,882 and even showing the swastika is a rare thing.
00:57:07,966 --> 00:57:09,342 That's true.
00:57:09,426 --> 00:57:14,263 Aniplex made a bold decision and we were allowed to depict it.
00:57:14,389 --> 00:57:17,433 --Huh? Why? Why wouldn't you be allowed? --It has to do with selling it overseas and things.
00:57:17,517 --> 00:57:20,895 We're dealing with a difficult issue in the story here,
00:57:20,979 --> 00:57:23,564 so how much of it is okay to actually depict?
00:57:23,690 --> 00:57:27,443 --We're gung-ho about going all the way with it, --So, normally, there's only a hint of such things.
00:57:27,527 --> 00:57:30,404 but various circumstances prevent us from doing a lot of things
00:57:30,489 --> 00:57:34,742 in this world.
00:57:34,826 --> 00:57:35,618 It's shown plainly here.
00:57:35,702 --> 00:57:38,120 Right. So we just drew things up first,
00:57:38,205 --> 00:57:40,581 then worried about the details, like the armbands.
00:57:40,666 --> 00:57:43,709 And as we were debating what to do, we were told we could do it,
00:57:43,794 --> 00:57:45,294 but when we were first told that,
00:57:45,379 --> 00:57:49,131 everyone was like, "Is it really okay?"
00:57:49,216 --> 00:57:52,343 "Wow, it really is okay." And I was grateful for that.
00:57:52,427 --> 00:57:54,637 It's a really big part of the story,
00:57:54,721 --> 00:57:57,139 so partly it was that we needed to do it,
00:57:57,224 --> 00:57:59,767 but I was really grateful for it.
00:57:59,851 --> 00:58:04,480 Like here, we mention everything by name, straight up.
00:58:04,564 --> 00:58:08,192 It's amazing, you know? Fullmetal really takes on these challenges.
00:58:08,276 --> 00:58:10,987 Even back during the anime... All that blood...
00:58:11,071 --> 00:58:12,738 During the anime? This is anime.
00:58:12,823 --> 00:58:15,199 Oh, no, I mean, back during the ¤ series.
00:58:15,283 --> 00:58:16,200 I know that!
00:58:16,284 --> 00:58:19,161 Well, you know, we gotta pick up on these things.
00:58:19,246 --> 00:58:23,082 That's true, since this isn't live action.
00:58:23,166 --> 00:58:27,712 But you know, somehow, watching this, it's really high quality.
00:58:27,796 --> 00:58:30,631 So, even though it's anime,
00:58:30,716 --> 00:58:34,135 somewhere along the way, it starts to feel not like anime.
00:58:34,219 --> 00:58:40,099 I'm sure the artists will be very happy to hear that.
00:58:40,183 --> 00:58:43,853 I mean, of course, it's anime and I know that,
00:58:43,937 --> 00:58:47,231 but somehow, it's just... It's strange, isn't it?
00:58:47,315 --> 00:58:49,483 Really. Somehow it's... How do I say this?
00:58:49,568 --> 00:58:53,946 There aren't any fads reflected, because it's a historical era.
00:58:54,031 --> 00:58:56,115 And I feel like it'll look fresh,
00:58:56,199 --> 00:58:59,285 even if you watched it years from now.
00:58:59,369 --> 00:59:04,081 Yeah, and because it's really woven into historical events,
00:59:04,166 --> 00:59:06,333 so it just...
00:59:06,418 --> 00:59:10,963 It makes me feel strange.
00:59:18,305 --> 00:59:20,181 Hess's voice is so cool, too.
00:59:20,265 --> 00:59:23,601 I know! So wonderful!
00:59:23,685 --> 00:59:28,064 --Oh, my. Rikiya-san. --You can lose yourself listening to him.
00:59:28,148 --> 00:59:30,900 Rikiya-san sure was cool.
00:59:30,984 --> 00:59:34,695 Rikiya-san is my sen¤ai from junior college.
00:59:34,780 --> 00:59:35,821 Though, we weren't there at the same time.
00:59:35,906 --> 00:59:40,201 Hess is also a historical character,
00:59:40,285 --> 00:59:44,747 so I had a hard time creating what image he'd have.
00:59:44,831 --> 00:59:50,503 The freshness of a young officer, but with a madness about him
00:59:50,587 --> 00:59:52,880 was just really...
00:59:52,964 --> 01:00:02,515 So, I was thinking of a stronger image for him at first,
01:00:02,599 --> 01:00:06,060 but when I heard Rikiya-san's voice,
01:00:06,144 --> 01:00:12,191 it had this dignified strength, but a certain fragility to it
01:00:12,275 --> 01:00:15,027 and it was perfect.
01:00:15,112 --> 01:00:19,073 So he was one of the characters where it wasn't until I heard his voice
01:00:19,157 --> 01:00:21,784 that the character really snapped into place.
01:00:21,868 --> 01:00:24,245 Oh, I love this part.
01:00:24,329 --> 01:00:26,163 You love this part? Then, I think I'll listen to it a bit.
01:00:26,248 --> 01:00:28,707 Oguri-¤un was really great here.
01:00:32,921 --> 01:00:36,423 We retook this part quite a bit, didn't we?
01:00:36,508 --> 01:00:39,426 After this part...
01:00:39,511 --> 01:00:40,678 It was shocking.
01:00:40,762 --> 01:00:43,347 Here, he coughs up blood.
01:01:05,495 --> 01:01:09,623 Noah's come downstairs somewhere along the way.
01:01:09,708 --> 01:01:14,378 Seeing them standing next to each other again like this, it's just...
01:01:14,462 --> 01:01:16,130 Wait, what?
01:01:16,214 --> 01:01:18,465 --Ed is tiny. --What are you trying to say? I ain't tiny!
01:01:18,550 --> 01:01:20,134 Well, he's shorter than Noah.
01:01:20,218 --> 01:01:22,136 Noah's just tall!
01:01:22,220 --> 01:01:24,471 --Noah sure is tall. --Noah's actually pretty tall.
01:01:24,556 --> 01:01:27,600 It's not like there's anything wrong with Ed.
01:01:30,187 --> 01:01:34,273 --Here she is. Noah. --Man, what the heck?
01:01:34,357 --> 01:01:36,775 I remember you were getting mad about this somewhere.
01:01:36,860 --> 01:01:39,111 I swear...
01:01:39,196 --> 01:01:40,362 Hey, now!
01:01:40,447 --> 01:01:41,947 You're too close!
01:01:44,284 --> 01:01:47,119 --You're way too close! --Too close!
01:01:50,248 --> 01:01:51,832 Ah, you guys have finally joined up.
01:01:51,917 --> 01:01:55,753 This duo is so fun, it's great.
01:01:55,837 --> 01:02:01,717 Yeah, the rowdy duo.
01:02:01,801 --> 01:02:04,220 Well, ever since she started hanging out with Sheska,
01:02:04,304 --> 01:02:07,306 --there was talk of how your position as the heroine was getting shaky. --That's true.
01:02:07,390 --> 01:02:08,682 Oh, really?
01:02:08,767 --> 01:02:13,771 I mean, Sheska kind of steals the show.
01:02:13,855 --> 01:02:17,233 Toyoguchi-san's got her arms crossed here.
01:02:17,317 --> 01:02:19,777 Sheska gets all the good parts.
01:02:19,861 --> 01:02:22,488 Since during the TV series, she'd become more of a comedic character.
01:02:22,572 --> 01:02:24,657 I can't win against a space cadet.
01:02:26,284 --> 01:02:28,035 --It's always like that. --There definitely was that aura.
01:02:28,119 --> 01:02:29,119 Right?
01:02:29,204 --> 01:02:32,373 No matter how you calculate, you can't win against a space cadet.
01:02:32,457 --> 01:02:35,167 You can't win. Not against a space cadet.
01:02:35,252 --> 01:02:39,171 --Space cadets are the same as kids. --Right, right, like kids and animals.
01:02:39,256 --> 01:02:41,715 Is this about Sheska or Wakabayashi-s¤n?
01:02:41,800 --> 01:02:43,884 I think it's both.
01:02:45,470 --> 01:02:47,137 Both.
01:02:47,222 --> 01:02:49,306 --Both. --Both.
01:02:49,391 --> 01:02:50,724 Both, both.
01:02:50,809 --> 01:02:52,142 Both.
01:02:56,189 --> 01:02:57,564 Both, huh?
01:02:57,649 --> 01:03:00,693 Yeah, it's both.
01:03:00,777 --> 01:03:05,239 Overall, there's a lot of browns.
01:03:05,323 --> 01:03:06,573 That's true.
01:03:06,658 --> 01:03:12,538 During this time period in Europe, they still used oil lamps,
01:03:12,622 --> 01:03:17,084 so at night, the light takes on this yellow tinge.
01:03:17,168 --> 01:03:21,505 With the indoor colors, when it's the normal palette,
01:03:21,589 --> 01:03:25,217 things can be more green or gray,
01:03:25,302 --> 01:03:30,889 but for night scenes, it tends towards the yellowish hues.
01:03:32,183 --> 01:03:37,062 There's also the fact that there are a lot of brown clothes.
01:03:37,147 --> 01:03:42,860 So did the people of this era tend to prefer more sober colors?
01:03:42,944 --> 01:03:47,072 They didn't really have bright colored clothes?
01:03:47,157 --> 01:03:50,451 Oh, though, the movie scenes were bright.
01:03:50,535 --> 01:03:52,328 --Movie scenes? --The movie studio...
01:03:52,412 --> 01:03:55,497 So, well, if you go back further in time,
01:03:55,582 --> 01:03:57,624 there's more ornamentation and things,
01:03:57,709 --> 01:04:02,171 but this era tended to have a lot simpler pieces.
01:04:02,255 --> 01:04:06,342 There isn't in fact much reference material that's in color,
01:04:06,426 --> 01:04:10,137 but looking at other works that deal with this era,
01:04:10,221 --> 01:04:13,098 the colors tend toward the sober tones,
01:04:13,183 --> 01:04:16,310 so I think we got that part pretty right.
01:04:16,394 --> 01:04:18,187 In reality, it also seems...
01:04:18,271 --> 01:04:22,066 Well, I went on a personal trip to France a while back, but...
01:04:22,150 --> 01:04:24,693 You know how we think of the French as being colorful?
01:04:24,778 --> 01:04:27,196 But no one wears any primary colors or anything.
01:04:27,280 --> 01:04:32,534 Even the cars are painted in really sober hues.
01:04:32,619 --> 01:04:36,455 So they apparently don't dress very flamboyantly.
01:04:36,539 --> 01:04:37,998 Not apparently... They don't.
01:04:38,083 --> 01:04:39,249 I had no idea.
01:04:39,334 --> 01:04:43,295 But Agnes B. clothes are all mostly monotones, too.
01:04:43,380 --> 01:04:45,130 Black, white, and gray.
01:04:45,215 --> 01:04:47,966 Oh, right. That's true.
01:04:48,051 --> 01:04:53,138 --Why? --I was just thinking I tend to buy bright colors, even from Agnes.
01:04:53,223 --> 01:04:56,350 Right, every so often, in addition to the black, white, and gray...
01:04:56,434 --> 01:05:00,062 They have stuff that goes with them.
01:05:00,146 --> 01:05:02,940 And once in a while, you get brilliant colors.
01:05:03,024 --> 01:05:06,985 But it's mostly monotone.
01:05:07,070 --> 01:05:09,738 I was really surprised. With the car colors,
01:05:09,823 --> 01:05:12,991 there's really a lot of grays. ¤ray, black, and white.
01:05:13,076 --> 01:05:15,244 Wow.
01:05:15,328 --> 01:05:17,413 This is a completely personal story,
01:05:17,497 --> 01:05:21,750 but I drive a car made by Renault
01:05:21,835 --> 01:05:25,129 and it's a really brilliant green color.
01:05:25,213 --> 01:05:30,175 Since I was going to France and it's a French maker,
01:05:30,260 --> 01:05:32,136 I kept an eye out for the same model.
01:05:32,220 --> 01:05:33,387 There's a lot of them on the road,
01:05:33,471 --> 01:05:38,434 but in the two days I was there, I only saw my green car twice.
01:05:38,518 --> 01:05:40,978 I saw a lot of the same model,
01:05:41,062 --> 01:05:44,064 but it just shows you how rare bright-colored cars are.
01:05:44,149 --> 01:05:47,484 --You have this image of sky blues and yellows for Europe. --Nope, nope, nope.
01:05:47,569 --> 01:05:50,696 Yeah, but there aren't any. I was surprised.
01:05:50,780 --> 01:05:52,573 And now that they're the EU,
01:05:52,657 --> 01:05:56,869 it's become easier to come and go between countries,
01:05:56,953 --> 01:06:00,622 so there are cars from other countries there, too.
01:06:00,707 --> 01:06:03,876 And the¤ are the ones driving the colorful cars,
01:06:03,960 --> 01:06:06,462 so I'd look at their license plates and be disappointed.
01:06:06,546 --> 01:06:08,172 "Hey, they ¤i have colorful ones!"
01:06:08,256 --> 01:06:10,549 But when you looked, it'd be from ¤zech or something.
01:06:10,633 --> 01:06:13,177 "Oh, I guess not."
01:06:13,261 --> 01:06:21,185 I've also gone to Paris for an overseas performance,
01:06:21,269 --> 01:06:23,687 but weren't their taxis luxurious?
01:06:23,771 --> 01:06:26,231 There were flashy commercial vehicles like that.
01:06:26,316 --> 01:06:27,733 Like, they had Benzes as taxis.
01:06:27,817 --> 01:06:32,821 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, Benzes are ¤erman cars
01:06:32,906 --> 01:06:39,620 and for Europeans, they don't seem to be such luxury cars.
01:06:39,704 --> 01:06:42,247 There were BMWs that had been turned into taxis, too.
01:06:42,332 --> 01:06:44,458 And wasn't there always a dog in the taxi?
01:06:44,542 --> 01:06:46,043 Wow, that's neat!
01:06:46,127 --> 01:06:47,711 They had dogs on board.
01:06:47,795 --> 01:06:50,047 It's like in the movies! So, they sit in the passenger seat?
01:06:50,131 --> 01:06:55,802 Really calm... Or rather...
01:06:55,887 --> 01:06:59,932 The flow of France is really great.
01:07:00,016 --> 01:07:05,270 --And as we're talking about this, ¤luttony's on a real rampage. --Yeah, ¤lu-chan was incredible here.
01:07:05,355 --> 01:07:10,484 This was on the first day of recording and it was really late.
01:07:10,568 --> 01:07:15,405 We were recording this around ¤ ¤pm. This scene with ¤lu-chan.
01:07:15,490 --> 01:07:18,242 And we were really drained... Oh, was it the second day?
01:07:18,326 --> 01:07:25,374 It was the second day and we were just drained with nothing left.
01:07:25,458 --> 01:07:26,750 Utterly exhausted.
01:07:26,834 --> 01:07:32,130 And that's when ¤lu-chan happened, so it was hilarious.
01:07:32,215 --> 01:07:36,843 We all hit a natural high through ¤lu-chan.
01:07:36,928 --> 01:07:42,266 It was amazing. Takato-san tried to put a voice to every action.
01:07:42,350 --> 01:07:49,398 And Takato-san was in the "Al booth" that you always used.
01:07:49,482 --> 01:07:53,527 You could hear him through the glass of the separate booth.
01:07:56,948 --> 01:07:58,865 "Is this guy for real?"
01:07:58,950 --> 01:08:00,659 I remember that.
01:08:00,743 --> 01:08:03,245 But Takato-san seemed to be enjoying himself.
01:08:03,329 --> 01:08:08,834 Well, it's basically just him and Mizuki-san on the screen,
01:08:08,918 --> 01:08:11,753 with Al showing up every so often.
01:08:11,838 --> 01:08:14,881 And Nana-chan was great, too.
01:08:14,966 --> 01:08:17,134 The thing that really impressed me was...
01:08:17,218 --> 01:08:19,636 This film had a lot of action that's hard to understand,
01:08:19,721 --> 01:08:23,140 since the material wasn't all done, either,
01:08:23,224 --> 01:08:26,435 so I figured adlibbing would be pretty difficult
01:08:26,519 --> 01:08:29,271 and I planned things out in quite a bit of detail
01:08:29,355 --> 01:08:31,064 regarding what to have her say where,
01:08:31,149 --> 01:08:33,358 but during the test take, Mizuki-san put them all in.
01:08:33,443 --> 01:08:37,654 So, she'd shown a lot of care, looked at every detail,
01:08:37,739 --> 01:08:41,074 and picked up on what expressions were used where,
01:08:41,159 --> 01:08:43,952 so it was splendid. I was most grateful.
01:08:45,246 --> 01:08:48,081 During the real take, for the action scenes...
01:08:48,166 --> 01:08:49,374 We'd be like,
01:08:49,459 --> 01:08:53,211 "Sorry, but give us the gasps and exertion sounds separately."
01:08:53,296 --> 01:08:54,671 And we'd take those and paste them in later.
01:08:54,756 --> 01:08:56,632 It's incredible.
01:08:58,676 --> 01:09:03,055 But this action scene is really amazing.
01:09:03,139 --> 01:09:05,557 The guy who did the animation here
01:09:05,642 --> 01:09:11,688 is the one who really pushed me to use Sawai Miyuu-chan.
01:09:11,773 --> 01:09:14,775 --A guy named Nakamura Yutaka. --His wish came true.
01:09:14,859 --> 01:09:20,489 Whoa! It's creepy, Takato-san! Takato-san's just so creepy!
01:09:20,573 --> 01:09:24,618 Oh, Takato-san! It's scary!
01:09:28,289 --> 01:09:30,540 It's a great scene.
01:09:30,625 --> 01:09:34,211 Well, it is a little special.
01:09:35,546 --> 01:09:39,049 Whoa! Scary!
01:09:39,133 --> 01:09:42,219 If you slid like that, you'd scrape up your legs.
01:09:42,303 --> 01:09:48,558 It's technically slick with water, so it's supposed to be okay.
01:09:48,643 --> 01:09:51,937 I see. Plus, there's the automail.
01:09:52,021 --> 01:09:53,730 This part is also...
01:09:53,815 --> 01:09:57,359 The water and bubbles are amazing, aren't they?
01:09:57,443 --> 01:10:00,946 I think it's amazing that you can actually draw all that.
01:10:02,490 --> 01:10:04,825 And he eats the philosopher's stone.
01:10:04,909 --> 01:10:07,869 He eats the philosopher's stone and gets stronger.
01:10:07,954 --> 01:10:11,039 Seeing ¤lu-chan, I only see Takato-san.
01:10:11,124 --> 01:10:12,666 So you see the person himself.
01:10:12,750 --> 01:10:14,584 This is a case of casting by looks.
01:10:14,669 --> 01:10:16,211 No doubt about it.
01:10:16,295 --> 01:10:18,255 Whoa! So much!
01:10:18,339 --> 01:10:21,883 This is so intense.
01:10:21,968 --> 01:10:25,762 Oh, there goes one ¤lu-chan.
01:10:27,807 --> 01:10:29,558 You can't help but watch!
01:10:31,519 --> 01:10:33,645 Wow, he's fast.
01:10:35,440 --> 01:10:39,192 And the fact his arms and legs are small is so...
01:10:39,277 --> 01:10:40,944 It's so ¤lu-chan-esque.
01:10:41,028 --> 01:10:45,449 I'm amazed a design like this got approval.
01:10:45,533 --> 01:10:48,118 The designer said,
01:10:48,202 --> 01:10:52,038 "If we're changing him anyway, shall we make the changes big?"
01:10:52,123 --> 01:10:55,167 Even the designer himself figured the author would request a redesign.
01:10:55,251 --> 01:10:58,128 When I looked at it, I also thought it wouldn't fly.
01:10:58,212 --> 01:11:02,048 "I think it's a really interesting design, but it probably won't pass."
01:11:02,133 --> 01:11:04,092 But when we passed it along to be checked,
01:11:04,177 --> 01:11:06,219 we were told, "This is totally okay!"
01:11:06,304 --> 01:11:10,140 Right then and there, I was like, "Thank you so very much."
01:11:10,224 --> 01:11:12,893 Whoa... This is nasty...
01:11:12,977 --> 01:11:16,646 But the artist... the animators had a tough job, didn't they?
01:11:16,731 --> 01:11:19,149 But the guy drawing this
01:11:19,233 --> 01:11:23,737 made ¤luttony even larger than in the original design.
01:11:23,821 --> 01:11:25,197 So he was a more normal size at first?
01:11:25,281 --> 01:11:27,073 Well, it's ¤luttony, after all.
01:11:27,158 --> 01:11:29,326 You know what his original size was like,
01:11:29,410 --> 01:11:33,121 but every time he brought it to me, ¤luttony had grown bigger.
01:11:33,206 --> 01:11:35,207 He'd say, "I drew something like this,"
01:11:35,291 --> 01:11:38,502 but I'd say, "Nonono, Nakamura-¤un, ¤luttony's not this big."
01:11:38,586 --> 01:11:42,088 And we went back and forth, but he ultimately got his way.
01:11:42,173 --> 01:11:45,509 --I had no idea. --He's become super big.
01:11:45,593 --> 01:11:50,555 It's like his palm is as big as Wrath.
01:11:50,640 --> 01:11:52,265 But he's all messed up,
01:11:52,350 --> 01:11:55,143 so in that sense, maybe it's okay for him to be this enlarged.
01:11:55,228 --> 01:11:57,479 It was like, I just had to be resigned to that.
01:11:57,563 --> 01:11:58,814 Well, the result looks cool.
01:11:58,898 --> 01:12:00,232 You know,
01:12:00,316 --> 01:12:05,779 this is the dance hall that showed up at the end of the TV series.
01:12:05,863 --> 01:12:08,698 So, if you think about them fighting in the dance hall...
01:12:08,783 --> 01:12:11,368 ...this space is really huge, right?
01:12:11,452 --> 01:12:13,453 It's a big lie.
01:12:15,081 --> 01:12:18,583 In that one shot just now, the distance is the same.
01:12:18,668 --> 01:12:22,963 But the place they were flying all over was that space.
01:12:23,047 --> 01:12:24,297 It's just impossible.
01:12:24,382 --> 01:12:26,216 So, it's all a lie,
01:12:26,300 --> 01:12:29,553 but it's made so the viewer won't be bothered by it.
01:12:29,637 --> 01:12:32,264 And Park-san here has been watching intently the whole time.
01:12:32,348 --> 01:12:36,393 But I mean, look, it's an incredible scene.
01:12:36,477 --> 01:12:38,937 He finally gets to rest in peace now.
01:12:45,152 --> 01:12:47,529 The faint sigh in there is great.
01:12:51,200 --> 01:12:52,868 Now he wants to shoot it.
01:12:54,662 --> 01:12:56,496 Now he wants to shoot it?
01:12:57,498 --> 01:12:59,291 Man!
01:13:00,793 --> 01:13:04,462 What are you, an idiot?!
01:13:04,547 --> 01:13:05,630 Dad.
01:13:05,715 --> 01:13:08,592 It's like, "Why the hell are you there?! You idiot!"
01:13:16,225 --> 01:13:18,476 He was saying, "Yo," cheerfully at first, remember?
01:13:18,561 --> 01:13:23,231 During the recording, because he didn't understand the situation.
01:13:25,943 --> 01:13:28,320 Ebara-san's spectacular, too.
01:13:28,404 --> 01:13:31,448 He's also a bit of a space cadet, too.
01:13:36,954 --> 01:13:41,166 --But you know, you kids are the product of this parent. --Dad sure is a troublesome guy.
01:13:41,250 --> 01:13:42,500 Hmm?
01:13:42,585 --> 01:13:44,628 No.
01:13:44,712 --> 01:13:45,837 Whoops?
01:13:45,922 --> 01:13:48,882 You know, he's so dumb,
01:13:48,966 --> 01:13:51,885 but he could say the same thing right back at Ed.
01:13:51,969 --> 01:13:55,138 So that's the point you wanted to make.
01:13:55,222 --> 01:13:58,308 It's like, he's gone to such absurd lengths.
01:13:58,392 --> 01:14:00,435 But you guys are the same, aren't you?
01:14:00,519 --> 01:14:01,937 Nope.
01:14:04,440 --> 01:14:10,445 But we did think about how he's his father when we were making this.
01:14:10,529 --> 01:14:12,989 If you look at where the warped part of Ed's nature originates,
01:14:13,074 --> 01:14:17,118 it's because his old man, you know...
01:14:17,203 --> 01:14:19,079 ...left Mom and went off somewhere.
01:14:19,163 --> 01:14:21,498 Park-san is having none of this.
01:14:21,582 --> 01:14:23,667 She's watching.
01:14:26,128 --> 01:14:28,838 Why did you chop off my gasp here?
01:14:28,923 --> 01:14:32,092 --What? --I gasped here, remember?
01:14:32,176 --> 01:14:35,261 Because... I thought we didn't need it.
01:14:35,346 --> 01:14:37,138 Don't mess with me, man.
01:14:37,223 --> 01:14:39,599 Whoa, I'm getting chewed out here.
01:14:42,395 --> 01:14:45,355 More like, I wanted him to wordlessly fall to his knees there.
01:14:47,775 --> 01:14:51,069 Shoot. I didn't think Park-san would be pointing out a flaw.
01:14:51,153 --> 01:14:52,529 A flaw in the directing.
01:14:52,613 --> 01:14:55,115 Oh, here we go. This scene.
01:14:55,199 --> 01:14:58,994 We're really watching a lot of the latter half here.
01:15:05,292 --> 01:15:06,626 What's this sound of agreement?
01:15:06,711 --> 01:15:10,005 She's listening to him.
01:15:10,089 --> 01:15:18,013 --There's just a lot of captivating scenes leading up to the climax. --Here's the army.
01:15:18,097 --> 01:15:20,640 What is this? Playing the part of the armor?
01:15:20,725 --> 01:15:22,600 Isn't there something that just makes you have to do it?
01:15:22,685 --> 01:15:24,144 There is, but...
01:15:24,228 --> 01:15:27,147 There's Eckart.
01:15:28,399 --> 01:15:30,275 So terrible.
01:15:36,073 --> 01:15:38,616 Haushofer also appeared for a bit in the final episode
01:15:38,701 --> 01:15:41,995 and now in the movie...
01:15:42,079 --> 01:15:45,206 I'm sure people didn't expect this from his character.
01:15:45,291 --> 01:15:54,591 I swear, "Haushi¤e¤" makes your breath come out so much.
01:15:54,675 --> 01:15:57,302 When you stand in front of the mic, not that I say his name,
01:15:57,386 --> 01:16:02,557 but it's scary because you feel like you might blow on the mic.
01:16:02,641 --> 01:16:06,061 --It has a lot of those "ha-hi-¤u-he-hi" sounds. --Who said "Haushofer" the most?
01:16:06,145 --> 01:16:09,814 --I don't know. Hoenheim said it a lot, didn't he? --Wasn't it Eckart?
01:16:09,899 --> 01:16:11,066 Oh, right.
01:16:11,150 --> 01:16:12,609 Did Hoenheim say it?
01:16:12,693 --> 01:16:17,655 In the final episode of the TV series, he said it a couple times.
01:16:17,740 --> 01:16:18,823 --Oh, right. Eckart calls him "Professor." --In the movie,
01:16:18,908 --> 01:16:20,825 --people don't say his name that much. --In the movie,
01:16:20,910 --> 01:16:23,661 Hess might have said it quite a bit.
01:16:23,746 --> 01:16:25,830 Ed did a little, too.
01:16:32,379 --> 01:16:36,091 Park-san is seriously glued to the screen.
01:16:36,175 --> 01:16:37,967 Why are you watching with such a sad look on your face?
01:16:38,052 --> 01:16:39,094 --But I mean... --He's gone.
01:16:39,178 --> 01:16:40,428 Oh, this.
01:16:40,513 --> 01:16:42,305 Rikiya-san, you jerk!
01:16:42,389 --> 01:16:47,060 No, no, no, no, it's not like Rikiya-san shot him.
01:16:47,144 --> 01:16:49,145 It's Hess, okay? Hess.
01:17:12,628 --> 01:17:16,214 You know, I can't really have you coming over to our world.
01:17:16,298 --> 01:17:17,215 What?
01:17:17,299 --> 01:17:19,259 I can't have her coming over to our world.
01:17:19,343 --> 01:17:21,970 --We'd kind of overlap. --You mean, Noah?
01:17:22,054 --> 01:17:25,098 Oh, Noah, right? Definitely. It's exactly as you say.
01:17:25,182 --> 01:17:28,643 --It's exactly as you say. --You made a good decision there.
01:17:32,606 --> 01:17:37,610 But after Father showed up, things really accelerated, didn't they?
01:17:37,695 --> 01:17:42,073 Well, that's how the story was structured, so...
01:17:42,158 --> 01:17:43,116 That's huge.
01:17:43,200 --> 01:17:47,579 But you know, up to that point, Ed wanted to go home,
01:17:47,663 --> 01:17:54,252 but if the gate between the real and alchemic worlds were to open,
01:17:54,336 --> 01:17:59,257 there'd be people who want to go to the other side and Ed knows this,
01:17:59,341 --> 01:18:02,051 so he thinks he can't let them open it, but since it ends up opening...
01:18:02,136 --> 01:18:05,471 Not to mention the fact that his old man does it to send him back home.
01:18:05,556 --> 01:18:08,474 From the old man's perspective, he's atoning for his past sins
01:18:08,559 --> 01:18:13,271 and he's being really self-centered yet again, of course.
01:18:13,355 --> 01:18:15,648 He's totally a Type B personality.
01:18:15,733 --> 01:18:18,902 Isn't that rude to all the Type B people out there?
01:18:18,986 --> 01:18:21,905 --Sorry, Rie-chin. --What?
01:18:21,989 --> 01:18:26,451 But once it's opened, as Ed, there's nothing left but to go.
01:18:26,535 --> 01:18:28,745 Now, he's got the ob¤ective of closing it,
01:18:28,829 --> 01:18:30,747 so naturally, the story builds momentum.
01:18:30,831 --> 01:18:34,209 Meanwhile, Al is like, "I ended up opening it, didn't I?
01:18:34,293 --> 01:18:36,669 I let something terrible come through."
01:18:36,754 --> 01:18:38,254 And the conflict begins.
01:18:38,339 --> 01:18:44,260 But this sure is incredible. I know I'm repeating myself, but still.
01:18:44,345 --> 01:18:47,305 Kazuko-san was amazing around here, too.
01:18:57,816 --> 01:18:59,943 --People tend to imitate her here quite a bit. --Ooh, scary.
01:19:00,027 --> 01:19:02,237 --"...has become reality!" --Really? I had no idea.
01:19:02,321 --> 01:19:05,448 --It seems everyone likes that. --Oh, there they are. The duo.
01:19:05,532 --> 01:19:08,326 Sheska's a gag here already. Her face is exaggerated.
01:19:08,410 --> 01:19:10,828 Sheska is just...
01:19:10,913 --> 01:19:15,708 You know, we worked hard never to exaggerate Winry's expressions.
01:19:15,793 --> 01:19:19,295 --But we let it slip a little here, just once. --Oh, I did a ton of retakes here.
01:19:19,380 --> 01:19:21,214 I did a ton of retakes.
01:19:21,298 --> 01:19:25,009 I just didn't get this part at all.
01:19:25,094 --> 01:19:29,222 Oh, right! The animation had a much more exaggerated expression,
01:19:29,306 --> 01:19:32,183 so I said, "We'll be fixing that,"
01:19:32,268 --> 01:19:35,228 and asked you to do it with that in mind.
01:19:35,312 --> 01:19:36,271 That's right.
01:19:36,355 --> 01:19:38,439 Because Sheska is a comedic character, but Winry isn't.
01:19:38,524 --> 01:19:41,025 Right, especially for this.
01:19:43,362 --> 01:19:46,114 I really wanted to show just how much Winry had grown in two years.
01:19:46,198 --> 01:19:47,699 Seriously! She became so strong.
01:19:47,783 --> 01:19:49,826 This time of waiting...
01:19:49,910 --> 01:19:51,995 It's like, "That's what made me strong."
01:19:52,079 --> 01:19:53,288 Look at this.
01:19:53,372 --> 01:19:57,041 The artists have done a great job with this.
01:20:01,338 --> 01:20:03,214 Here's the reunion!
01:20:10,723 --> 01:20:13,766 See, she's actually hugging him so he won't see her tears.
01:20:15,769 --> 01:20:19,188 Watch, she'll wipe her tears after this. Whoops, she didn't.
01:20:19,273 --> 01:20:24,152 --Hey, hey, hey, hey. --Whoops? Where did that part go?
01:20:24,236 --> 01:20:25,236 Oh, we dropped it.
01:20:25,321 --> 01:20:27,572 So it got cut!
01:20:27,656 --> 01:20:30,366 It was such a good part, too.
01:20:30,451 --> 01:20:32,535 I was thinking of having her cover it up.
01:20:32,619 --> 01:20:34,370 I was planning on doing that sort of little touch,
01:20:34,455 --> 01:20:36,247 but it's not in here.
01:20:36,332 --> 01:20:39,250 So it got cut!
01:20:39,335 --> 01:20:43,296 Sorry about that. It might've just been in my dreams.
01:20:45,632 --> 01:20:50,762 But when I read the script at home and prepared for this,
01:20:50,846 --> 01:20:56,225 I had prepared to be much more like she was in the ¤ series,
01:20:56,310 --> 01:21:00,104 so I got really confused from around this scene.
01:21:00,189 --> 01:21:03,983 Yeah, so I had to explain that kind of thing here.
01:21:04,068 --> 01:21:09,530 What Winry thought about in those two years and how she changed.
01:21:09,615 --> 01:21:12,784 To have you convey that...
01:21:12,868 --> 01:21:17,663 In that sense, she needs to be over him at this point in time.
01:21:17,748 --> 01:21:20,416 I mean, can you wait for a guy for two years
01:21:20,501 --> 01:21:21,751 when you don't even know where he's gone?
01:21:21,835 --> 01:21:23,628 Right?!
01:21:25,381 --> 01:21:27,882 No matter how close they were as children...
01:21:27,966 --> 01:21:31,010 On top of which, if she seriously thought about
01:21:31,095 --> 01:21:37,016 whether being with Ed would lead to happiness for herself,
01:21:37,101 --> 01:21:43,648 I think a girl her age would be realistic to a certain extent.
01:21:43,732 --> 01:21:48,444 And she's got her own... The repairing of automail...
01:21:48,529 --> 01:21:54,659 She's got her own work, too,
01:21:54,743 --> 01:21:57,662 so I thought she'd definitely become independent.
01:21:57,746 --> 01:22:01,749 I also personally wanted to bring closure to Winry.
01:22:01,834 --> 01:22:04,043 A mature character with a mature look in the art.
01:22:04,128 --> 01:22:07,338 A mature look in the art, so Toyoguchi-san wouldn't have trouble.
01:22:07,423 --> 01:22:12,051 But it had to be that way to tie into her last line.
01:22:12,136 --> 01:22:14,470 I mean, if she got left at that point, it'd be really rough.
01:22:14,555 --> 01:22:15,972 It is rough!
01:22:16,056 --> 01:22:18,141 You'd have to have something to live for.
01:22:18,225 --> 01:22:21,561 Actually, I feel more like you're glaring at me right now.
01:22:21,645 --> 01:22:23,146 I'm trying hard to justify it,
01:22:23,230 --> 01:22:25,940 but you're like, "I'm still not forgiving you."
01:22:26,024 --> 01:22:28,151 Well, there's still the final scene left.
01:22:28,235 --> 01:22:29,902 We'll revisit it then.
01:22:29,987 --> 01:22:31,571 Scary!
01:22:31,655 --> 01:22:35,199 Personally, I really like Winry.
01:22:35,284 --> 01:22:37,326 I like her, too.
01:22:39,913 --> 01:22:41,247 Did I say something wrong?
01:22:41,331 --> 01:22:42,790 No, no, no.
01:22:45,586 --> 01:22:52,175 Man, but you know, having them reunite under these circumstances...
01:22:52,259 --> 01:22:56,053 It's yet another example of how nothing is ever simple.
01:22:56,138 --> 01:22:58,848 There was talk of structuring things
01:22:58,932 --> 01:23:00,892 so we could have a longer reunion scene...
01:23:00,976 --> 01:23:04,937 That scene with Wrath and ¤lu-chan was really long!
01:23:05,022 --> 01:23:07,523 But the touching reunion is over in no time.
01:23:07,608 --> 01:23:10,234 But we still gave it enough time for it to be touching.
01:23:10,319 --> 01:23:13,196 But I mean, given the situation,
01:23:13,280 --> 01:23:19,702 artifacts from the real world have streamed into the alchemic world
01:23:19,786 --> 01:23:22,038 and there's this huge commotion going on,
01:23:22,122 --> 01:23:24,665 so you don't want to take lots of time just for a reunion scene
01:23:24,750 --> 01:23:26,876 and go into a world with just the two of them.
01:23:26,960 --> 01:23:30,838 Personally, in terms of the direction,
01:23:30,923 --> 01:23:32,465 I think the challenge is in depicting it
01:23:32,549 --> 01:23:34,342 --in as short a time as possible within the given situation. --But it could've been fun.
01:23:34,343 --> 01:23:35,218 --in as short a time as possible within the given situation. --Does that mean it's been condensed?
01:23:35,302 --> 01:23:38,095 The two would gaze at one another and in the end,
01:23:38,180 --> 01:23:40,848 the scenery would spin around them or something.
01:23:40,933 --> 01:23:42,808 That's so embarrassing!
01:23:42,893 --> 01:23:44,936 Like, "Winry!" "Ed!"
01:23:45,020 --> 01:23:47,855 They'd walk towards each other bit by bit and then embrace!
01:23:47,940 --> 01:23:49,315 --Right, with slow motion and stuff. --Yeah, with slow motion.
01:23:49,399 --> 01:23:51,567 That's right! Remember? With Noah and Ed...
01:23:51,652 --> 01:23:55,154 You used slow motion when she said, "Take me with you, Ed!"
01:23:55,239 --> 01:23:57,865 Why didn't you use slow motion for me?!
01:23:57,950 --> 01:24:01,744 And you know that sparkly stuff from when Roy snaps his fingers?
01:24:01,828 --> 01:24:03,663 You could have that drifting in the background.
01:24:03,747 --> 01:24:07,833 And give it a fuzzy look. Use lots of special effects.
01:24:07,918 --> 01:24:11,170 There you are, there you are!
01:24:11,255 --> 01:24:13,339 Oh, there I am.
01:24:13,423 --> 01:24:14,340 This part was great, too.
01:24:14,424 --> 01:24:18,261 "I knew about how much you would grow."
01:24:19,930 --> 01:24:22,390 I'm definitely taller than him.
01:24:22,474 --> 01:24:24,267 I'm taller than him.
01:24:24,351 --> 01:24:25,643 You are! You're visibly taller than him!
01:24:25,727 --> 01:24:30,189 Let me tell you something. It's because everyone else is huge.
01:24:30,274 --> 01:24:33,192 Everyone else is too big.
01:24:33,277 --> 01:24:34,277 Everyone else is probably about ¤ meters tall.
01:24:34,361 --> 01:24:36,612 --The law of perspective! --Ed's about ¤ ¤¤ centimeters.
01:24:36,697 --> 01:24:42,868 --For the longest time, we were like, "What'll we do if he's all big?!" --Shut up!
01:24:42,953 --> 01:24:44,537 We'd been worrying,
01:24:44,621 --> 01:24:46,789 but even when you'd grown up, you were still short.
01:24:46,873 --> 01:24:48,124 Hey, now!
01:24:48,208 --> 01:24:50,209 He did grow a bit. ¤ust not much.
01:24:50,294 --> 01:24:54,630 The two of us were really interested in his growth.
01:24:54,715 --> 01:24:57,883 On the poster, he looked like he was pretty tall.
01:24:57,968 --> 01:25:00,761 Hold on! " ¤ii¤e¤ li¤e he was tall?"
01:25:00,846 --> 01:25:02,722 What's up with that?
01:25:02,806 --> 01:25:05,808 Look, the big guy's working hard at hanging on there.
01:25:05,892 --> 01:25:07,059 Not so much.
01:25:07,144 --> 01:25:08,728 Don't say, "Not so much!"
01:25:08,812 --> 01:25:09,812 He's trying hard! Look!
01:25:09,896 --> 01:25:10,896 Whoa, that's incredible.
01:25:10,981 --> 01:25:12,481 He's resisting the wind pressure!
01:25:12,566 --> 01:25:14,609 Talk about amazing abdominal muscles.
01:25:14,693 --> 01:25:16,736 No kidding.
01:25:18,739 --> 01:25:20,698 And this is what we get.
01:25:20,782 --> 01:25:22,908 Flap, flap, flap, flap.
01:25:25,287 --> 01:25:26,579 --Oh, he's jumping. --He jumped over just now, you know.
01:25:26,663 --> 01:25:29,415 Its expression changed, even though it's a machine.
01:25:34,463 --> 01:25:35,546 She's merciless.
01:25:35,631 --> 01:25:39,175 No mercy.
01:25:39,259 --> 01:25:41,135 He's falling, he's falling. He's going to die.
01:25:41,219 --> 01:25:42,928 Seriously, you'd die.
01:25:43,013 --> 01:25:45,431 That's incredible. That thing is huge.
01:25:46,475 --> 01:25:48,476 --What? --The coat.
01:25:48,560 --> 01:25:52,229 He flattened it out using transmutation.
01:25:52,314 --> 01:25:53,105 I see.
01:25:53,190 --> 01:25:57,360 --He put his hands together off screen, you can hear it. --I know that!
01:25:57,444 --> 01:26:00,446 Let's all be friends and watch this.
01:26:00,530 --> 01:26:03,866 That pisses me off!
01:26:03,950 --> 01:26:06,327 You wicked... That was wicked!
01:26:06,411 --> 01:26:07,745 Participate!
01:26:07,829 --> 01:26:11,082 I am participating!
01:26:11,166 --> 01:26:14,126 --Look, you guys are up. --This was a tough part.
01:26:14,211 --> 01:26:17,505 This is the most important scene.
01:26:22,177 --> 01:26:24,970 Aw, Al's knitting his brows too, now.
01:26:26,848 --> 01:26:28,724 They've both got the same look on their faces.
01:26:31,436 --> 01:26:34,855 After this is Kugimiya-san's wonderful scream.
01:26:46,284 --> 01:26:49,078 Everyone's quiet.
01:26:49,162 --> 01:26:51,038 We're all captivated.
01:26:54,167 --> 01:26:56,085 Where did you get that coat?
01:26:56,169 --> 01:26:58,713 In a shop.
01:26:58,797 --> 01:27:00,089 What shop?
01:27:00,173 --> 01:27:01,173 That's so normal!
01:27:01,258 --> 01:27:03,134 The Fullmetal Shop?
01:27:03,218 --> 01:27:04,969 Something like that.
01:27:05,053 --> 01:27:06,595 I wonder if he made one that looks similar.
01:27:06,680 --> 01:27:07,930 By himself, with a sewing machine or something.
01:27:08,014 --> 01:27:10,182 --By himself? Maybe Winry... --He might actually do it.
01:27:10,267 --> 01:27:12,518 Right, I helped pick out the cloth and stuff.
01:27:14,187 --> 01:27:17,106 "Want some embroidery on there?"
01:27:26,116 --> 01:27:29,702 --The wreckage on the left looks like it's about to collapse. --You're right.
01:27:31,830 --> 01:27:34,331 We did this scene so much.
01:27:37,085 --> 01:27:39,336 We did it over and over, didn't we?
01:27:39,421 --> 01:27:42,757 I'm very satisfied with how it turned out.
01:27:42,841 --> 01:27:45,217 No one's saying anything!
01:27:45,302 --> 01:27:46,677 We're all so captivated.
01:27:46,762 --> 01:27:48,137 You know,
01:27:48,221 --> 01:27:52,099 it kind of brings back memories of our second day of recording.
01:27:52,184 --> 01:27:55,561 This was the second day and everyone was reaching their limits.
01:27:55,645 --> 01:27:58,147 Actually, it wasn't the second day. We came back on another day
01:27:58,231 --> 01:27:59,815 and rerecorded this part again.
01:27:59,900 --> 01:28:00,649 Oh, was that how it was?
01:28:00,692 --> 01:28:04,069 Yeah, we'd given up before this point
01:28:04,154 --> 01:28:10,534 and we got an extra day to record it.
01:28:10,619 --> 01:28:12,119 Right, right.
01:28:12,204 --> 01:28:13,913 So, there were only three people that time.
01:28:14,247 --> 01:28:17,708 On that final, third day of recording.
01:28:17,793 --> 01:28:20,127 --Three of us? --Toyoguchi-san was also there.
01:28:21,296 --> 01:28:23,631 Your memories aren't clear anymore, are they?
01:28:23,715 --> 01:28:25,049 Sheska was there.
01:28:25,133 --> 01:28:27,885 Oh, right!
01:28:27,969 --> 01:28:30,513 I'm the one who doesn't remember. Was she there?
01:28:30,597 --> 01:28:33,599 You know, this part...
01:28:38,855 --> 01:28:41,023 That's where everyone boos.
01:28:41,107 --> 01:28:42,775 Why do you gotta leave her behind?
01:28:42,859 --> 01:28:45,486 It's super boo.
01:28:45,570 --> 01:28:47,238 What? You wanted her to go with?
01:28:47,322 --> 01:28:50,115 I would've liked her to go with.
01:28:50,200 --> 01:28:52,284 What? For what part? After this?
01:28:52,369 --> 01:28:55,704 --No, no, no. --But you know, if she got on and left with him,
01:28:55,789 --> 01:28:59,166 it'd be like a honeymoon, even though they're supposed to fight.
01:28:59,251 --> 01:29:00,584 No one would think that!
01:29:00,669 --> 01:29:04,129 Why would they have to go on a honeymoon in a balloon?!
01:29:04,214 --> 01:29:07,883 Around the world in ¤¤ days.
01:29:07,968 --> 01:29:11,345 I don't think it'd look good if Hawkeye was behind him there.
01:29:11,429 --> 01:29:14,557 No, for backup. Backup, though I don't know what for.
01:29:18,144 --> 01:29:20,271 This is a tremendous situation going on here.
01:29:20,355 --> 01:29:21,647 You can't fight it with guns, after all.
01:29:21,731 --> 01:29:24,608 You wouldn't normally be able to run here.
01:29:24,693 --> 01:29:26,235 It's round, after all.
01:29:26,319 --> 01:29:29,738 Yeah, it's round.
01:29:29,823 --> 01:29:31,574 You'd trip.
01:29:33,618 --> 01:29:36,078 --You wouldn't be able to stop. --So cool.
01:29:36,162 --> 01:29:39,999 They're both hiding behind the colonel here, real quick.
01:29:40,083 --> 01:29:41,250 It sure shows their personalities.
01:29:41,334 --> 01:29:44,295 That moment was totally shriek-worthy.
01:29:45,422 --> 01:29:48,090 This part, too.
01:29:48,174 --> 01:29:50,885 This is how Roy's gotta be.
01:29:59,185 --> 01:30:01,312 Shriek!
01:30:02,230 --> 01:30:04,148 And Roy is back.
01:30:08,403 --> 01:30:11,113 The ¤u¤i¤i have the same expressions. See?
01:30:11,197 --> 01:30:13,115 Oh, you're right.
01:30:13,199 --> 01:30:15,618 It's supposed to be a lump and it shouldn't move,
01:30:15,702 --> 01:30:18,621 but the animator...
01:30:18,705 --> 01:30:20,831 I didn't catch it.
01:30:20,916 --> 01:30:23,083 Pay attention to the ¤u¤i¤i's expressions.
01:30:23,168 --> 01:30:24,376 So its expression changes?
01:30:24,461 --> 01:30:29,048 It's not supposed to, but...
01:30:29,132 --> 01:30:32,468 If you look closely. See?
01:30:32,552 --> 01:30:34,178 You're right.
01:30:36,306 --> 01:30:41,852 The animators deliberately made them move ever so subtly.
01:30:42,854 --> 01:30:45,272 --Like here, too. If you look closely, --You're right! It's moving.
01:30:45,357 --> 01:30:47,733 it's got the same expression.
01:30:47,817 --> 01:30:51,070 --See? --You're right.
01:30:51,154 --> 01:30:53,072 Talk about detailed!
01:30:53,156 --> 01:30:55,366 No, it's actually not supposed to change expressions,
01:30:55,450 --> 01:30:56,784 because it's a lump.
01:30:56,868 --> 01:31:03,874 But the animation director used it as a distraction.
01:31:03,959 --> 01:31:07,628 This part was during the crunch at the end,
01:31:07,712 --> 01:31:10,130 so he was having a rough time of it.
01:31:10,215 --> 01:31:13,717 When I said, "I don't want the faces of the ¤u¤i¤i to move much,
01:31:13,802 --> 01:31:15,386 because I want them to look like solid lumps."
01:31:15,470 --> 01:31:18,263 He said, "¤ome on, Mizushima-san, if you don't let me do this,
01:31:18,348 --> 01:31:19,974 it's just too hard."
01:31:23,603 --> 01:31:26,271 You'd think making them move is more trouble.
01:31:26,356 --> 01:31:28,691 You'd think so, but it's not to them.
01:31:28,775 --> 01:31:31,318 That's incredible.
01:31:31,403 --> 01:31:33,237 It's really incredible.
01:31:33,321 --> 01:31:34,989 They apparently had names.
01:31:35,073 --> 01:31:37,074 --Really? Like Kuro-chan? --Like names for each one.
01:31:37,158 --> 01:31:38,617 I don't remember,
01:31:38,702 --> 01:31:42,204 but I think it was simple, like Tarou, ¤irou, and Saburou.
01:31:42,288 --> 01:31:44,498 That's great! I wonder which one's Tarou!
01:31:44,582 --> 01:31:47,251 There's technically about three of them on her. See?
01:31:47,335 --> 01:31:51,213 The one on the other side is drooping and kicking.
01:31:51,297 --> 01:31:53,507 Oh, here they are.
01:31:55,343 --> 01:31:58,303 Why did you decide to do all the armor in ¤¤?
01:31:58,388 --> 01:32:01,181 What? Because animating them is hard.
01:32:01,266 --> 01:32:04,226 There's a lot of them with the same shape,
01:32:04,310 --> 01:32:06,729 so animating them would take a lot of work.
01:32:06,813 --> 01:32:10,524 And with ¤D, you can make the same shapes over and over,
01:32:10,608 --> 01:32:15,154 so as long as we could meld their movement into the animation nicely,
01:32:15,238 --> 01:32:21,326 it actually conveys their lack of character better.
01:32:21,411 --> 01:32:22,745 So we went with ¤D.
01:32:22,829 --> 01:32:24,747 I see.
01:32:24,831 --> 01:32:27,833 So, the front here is done in animation,
01:32:27,917 --> 01:32:30,878 but the ones behind might be ¤D.
01:32:30,962 --> 01:32:32,588 These are both ¤D now.
01:32:32,672 --> 01:32:35,132 Whoa, they're creepy!
01:32:35,216 --> 01:32:36,842 ¤reepy!
01:32:36,926 --> 01:32:40,763 ¤reepy! ¤reepy!
01:32:43,349 --> 01:32:48,437 Kato-san and I redid this part so many times.
01:32:48,521 --> 01:32:53,734 She also often wanted to have repeated goes at it herself.
01:32:53,818 --> 01:32:57,821 Every time she did it, she'd say, "Sorry about that."
01:32:57,906 --> 01:33:01,742 "Really, I'm sorry." "Oh, that part..."
01:33:02,285 --> 01:33:04,203 "Oh..."
01:33:04,287 --> 01:33:06,580 "Okay, we'll keep that take."
01:33:06,664 --> 01:33:09,583 "Was it really okay?"
01:33:09,667 --> 01:33:13,003 She'd ask over and over.
01:33:13,088 --> 01:33:17,091 She'd change things with every take.
01:33:17,175 --> 01:33:19,301 It was incredible.
01:33:19,385 --> 01:33:21,136 I like this part, too.
01:33:23,973 --> 01:33:26,266 The meaning of that line was unclear, wasn't it?
01:33:26,351 --> 01:33:29,353 It became clear later.
01:33:53,378 --> 01:33:57,714 What do you think of this as Winry-san?
01:33:57,799 --> 01:34:00,425 I think I might like this scene the best of all, though.
01:34:00,510 --> 01:34:04,429 She's crying! She's crying!
01:34:04,514 --> 01:34:07,057 But I mean...
01:34:07,142 --> 01:34:08,559 Here.
01:34:11,187 --> 01:34:13,105 --So serious! --This part, too!
01:34:13,189 --> 01:34:16,066 I'd been talking about doing the movie all along
01:34:16,151 --> 01:34:22,156 and it was like, "Man, Winry's gonna have some great lines."
01:34:22,240 --> 01:34:25,450 "The end'll be awesome!"
01:34:25,535 --> 01:34:28,662 You can practically tell who said that.
01:34:28,746 --> 01:34:29,872 Who else?
01:34:29,956 --> 01:34:33,333 "Winry's a great part!"
01:34:33,418 --> 01:34:35,878 I'd been told that all along.
01:34:35,962 --> 01:34:37,546 --So, was it great? --It reminds me of that.
01:34:37,630 --> 01:34:41,175 Hmm, was it great? Was it great?
01:34:41,259 --> 01:34:47,764 I tend to like happy endings for everyone, so...
01:34:47,849 --> 01:34:54,605 In terms of the story, it might be the tearjerker part,
01:34:54,689 --> 01:34:57,357 but for me, it was a shock to be left behind.
01:34:57,442 --> 01:34:58,233 Personally, for me...
01:34:58,318 --> 01:34:59,568 Do you think she kind of hates him?
01:34:59,652 --> 01:35:01,153 No, not hates him, but...
01:35:01,237 --> 01:35:04,364 What would you think if you were in her position?
01:35:04,449 --> 01:35:07,743 Well, she'd gotten over him, so...
01:35:07,827 --> 01:35:09,244 --That line is based --She's over him, but I feel like
01:35:09,329 --> 01:35:11,038 --on her having gotten over him, so... --it's still going to take more time.
01:35:11,122 --> 01:35:13,123 That's true.
01:35:13,208 --> 01:35:16,126 It's like, she was over him, but there's still a little thing there.
01:35:16,211 --> 01:35:21,506 Somehow, she seems like she's over him, but she's not.
01:35:21,591 --> 01:35:23,133 I think it'll be tough for her from here on out.
01:35:23,218 --> 01:35:25,886 She was emotionally prepared, after all.
01:35:25,970 --> 01:35:28,513 Whether it actually happens or not makes a difference.
01:35:28,598 --> 01:35:30,307 It's like, she knows, but...
01:35:30,391 --> 01:35:31,975 They've had this ill-timed meeting here, after all.
01:35:32,060 --> 01:35:35,103 If she thinks that maybe he can come over again...
01:35:35,188 --> 01:35:38,774 On top of which, they both go away.
01:35:38,858 --> 01:35:44,655 That's right. Up to now, Al was around.
01:35:44,739 --> 01:35:50,994 Well, honestly speaking, no one gets a happy ending in this movie.
01:35:51,079 --> 01:35:55,290 But you know, you'll get to be a great ¤ranny Pinako-like person.
01:35:55,375 --> 01:35:57,125 --Really? --Yeah, really.
01:35:57,210 --> 01:36:01,880 But you know, she's experienced quite a lot that normal people don't
01:36:01,965 --> 01:36:05,175 and she's gone through a lot.
01:36:05,260 --> 01:36:09,346 She's had the kind of experiences that make a person stronger.
01:36:27,073 --> 01:36:29,408 And Ed, too...
01:36:29,492 --> 01:36:32,619 He gave up on the alchemic world and came back, only to find...
01:36:32,704 --> 01:36:34,579 ...Heiderich is dead!
01:36:36,833 --> 01:36:39,126 And Al ended up coming.
01:37:08,364 --> 01:37:11,408 This isn't a commentary anymore.
01:37:11,492 --> 01:37:14,202 I'm amazed he got there without being noticed.
01:37:14,287 --> 01:37:15,746 Well, for that...
01:37:15,830 --> 01:37:18,540 ...he used the utmost care.
01:37:18,624 --> 01:37:21,418 He snuck over and then snuck into the armor.
01:37:21,502 --> 01:37:24,296 When did he jump over?!
01:37:24,380 --> 01:37:26,590 There was this little window of opportunity
01:37:26,674 --> 01:37:28,759 and it was like, "Now's my chance!"
01:37:28,843 --> 01:37:29,593 Shaking Roy off.
01:37:29,635 --> 01:37:33,472 Right, right, right. And he stayed there without making a sound.
01:37:33,556 --> 01:37:34,723 That's awesome.
01:37:34,807 --> 01:37:37,976 Say something, man.
01:37:38,061 --> 01:37:40,187 Say, "Brother," while you're going through the gate.
01:37:40,271 --> 01:37:44,483 Knock, knock. Hello from inside.
01:37:44,567 --> 01:37:47,235 "Let's see if you can find me."
01:37:47,320 --> 01:37:49,112 "Find me, Brother."
01:37:49,197 --> 01:37:52,491 It ended while we were saying that!
01:37:56,162 --> 01:37:57,913 That's so dumb!
01:37:57,997 --> 01:38:03,293 --But it was because he said it wasn't turning into a commentary! --But you guys were so quiet!
01:38:03,378 --> 01:38:05,379 You know, for this...
01:38:05,463 --> 01:38:10,133 ¤ouldn't you have destroyed the gate from one side
01:38:10,218 --> 01:38:12,677 and just left it at that? That's my thought on this.
01:38:12,762 --> 01:38:14,304 Because one side is open...
01:38:14,389 --> 01:38:23,313 To open the gate itself, the alchemic world has various methods,
01:38:23,398 --> 01:38:25,941 but it opened from the real world by pure chance, right?
01:38:26,025 --> 01:38:31,988 Like with Ed opening it by accident with his blood.
01:38:32,073 --> 01:38:37,452 Also, Hohenheim used his blood to open it.
01:38:37,537 --> 01:38:42,249 So they're opened with the power of people from the alchemic world.
01:38:42,333 --> 01:38:44,292 As in, people who weren't originally from the real world.
01:38:44,377 --> 01:38:47,212 Ed going to the other side means there's a chance it'll open.
01:38:47,296 --> 01:38:50,173 So it has to be destroyed.
01:38:50,258 --> 01:38:55,095 So all possibility has to be blocked.
01:38:55,179 --> 01:38:58,265 But even so, it could still open.
01:38:58,349 --> 01:39:00,267 The chances can't be reduced to zero.
01:39:00,351 --> 01:39:02,769 But you know, he says goodbye to Noah, so...
01:39:02,854 --> 01:39:04,062 That's true.
01:39:04,147 --> 01:39:06,231 Well, we didn't show them going their separate ways,
01:39:06,315 --> 01:39:09,151 so some people apparently thought they'd continue to travel together.
01:39:09,235 --> 01:39:11,486 No, they've split.
01:39:14,574 --> 01:39:17,242 But I don't think Winry could become happy with Ed.
01:39:17,326 --> 01:39:19,077 --What do you think? --What? You think so?
01:39:19,162 --> 01:39:23,331 Shoot. Did I just make a lot of enemies who disagree with me?
01:39:23,416 --> 01:39:24,499 Yeah.
01:39:24,584 --> 01:39:26,168 Oh, she said, "Yeah."
01:39:26,252 --> 01:39:28,295 But I'll bet it'd be a life of waiting.
01:39:28,379 --> 01:39:31,089 That's true.
01:39:31,174 --> 01:39:33,884 If it's not going to happen, I'd rather it just end,
01:39:33,968 --> 01:39:36,887 but it ended with possibilities remaining,
01:39:36,971 --> 01:39:38,972 so it makes me think twice.
01:39:39,056 --> 01:39:40,098 It might be a little troubling,
01:39:40,183 --> 01:39:42,684 but I hope Winry finds a great guy and becomes happy after this.
01:39:42,768 --> 01:39:43,894 Right? I agree.
01:39:43,978 --> 01:39:46,146 I think Winry will wait.
01:39:46,230 --> 01:39:47,022 --What?! --I know...
01:39:47,064 --> 01:39:48,148 I think she'll definitely wait.
01:39:48,232 --> 01:39:51,026 I think so, too. After all, she's waited this long!
01:39:51,110 --> 01:39:54,112 And there's no great guy other than Ed.
01:39:54,197 --> 01:39:55,989 Whoa! So that¤s what you wanted to say.
01:39:56,073 --> 01:39:57,365 Isn't Al great, too?
01:39:57,450 --> 01:40:01,244 --Not Al, it's gotta be Ed. --That's true.
01:40:01,329 --> 01:40:03,538 So we're going to end with that topic?
01:40:03,623 --> 01:40:06,291 Then Al will take Noah.
01:40:06,375 --> 01:40:08,084 What?!
01:40:08,169 --> 01:40:10,837 --Noah's a handful, too! --What's wrong with Sheska?!
01:40:10,922 --> 01:40:14,216 That's right! Sheska would be good! There's also Emilia-chan.
01:40:14,300 --> 01:40:15,258 Oh, that's true.
01:40:15,343 --> 01:40:17,802 Elicia-chan, you mean.
01:40:17,887 --> 01:40:22,265 I guess he'll be an adult by the time he gets to go back.
01:40:22,350 --> 01:40:24,267 Oh, there's Rose, too.
01:40:24,352 --> 01:40:27,062 Rose is, well...
01:40:30,858 --> 01:40:33,026 She's even got a photo up!
01:40:33,110 --> 01:40:35,987 I know.
01:40:36,072 --> 01:40:38,114 --It's over. --It's over.
01:40:38,199 --> 01:40:41,034 Yeah, it's over.
01:40:41,118 --> 01:40:44,287 It's over. It's really over.
01:40:44,372 --> 01:40:48,500 But you know, I think Winry will wait until she's a granny.
01:40:48,584 --> 01:40:51,878 I'd want them to reunite after she's become a granny.
01:40:51,963 --> 01:40:54,381 You reunite after she's become a granny?!
01:40:54,465 --> 01:40:58,635 Ed will be an old man and Winry will be an old woman and...
01:40:58,719 --> 01:41:02,138 They'd both be aged.
01:41:02,223 --> 01:41:05,141 Yeah, that'd be great.
01:41:05,226 --> 01:41:07,310 And they'd spend three days together and die together or something.
01:41:07,395 --> 01:41:09,396 --Oh, that could be good! --What?! They'll die together after three days?!
01:41:09,480 --> 01:41:10,522 They're going to die?!
01:41:10,606 --> 01:41:11,481 That's incredible.
01:41:11,566 --> 01:41:13,400 They'll quietly pass away.
01:41:13,484 --> 01:41:16,486 She'll sort of have this motivator of waiting for Ed,
01:41:16,571 --> 01:41:18,196 so she'll feed on that...
01:41:18,281 --> 01:41:21,992 Not really feed, but it'll give her strength without her knowing it
01:41:22,076 --> 01:41:23,451 and she'd be living that way,
01:41:23,536 --> 01:41:25,745 but I feel like if they were reunited and felt that relief,
01:41:25,830 --> 01:41:28,123 they'd both end up dying.
01:41:28,207 --> 01:41:31,793 Yeah, if they end up waiting that long.
01:41:31,877 --> 01:41:34,963 It's truly like a life of turmoil.
01:41:38,301 --> 01:41:42,971 And here we have the ending credits going on and on.
01:41:43,055 --> 01:41:45,765 An incredible number of people were involved, weren't there?
01:41:45,850 --> 01:41:48,184 Now that I'm looking at this again.
01:41:51,647 --> 01:41:54,232 Well, when we finished, it was like, "I'm amazed we finished it."
01:41:54,317 --> 01:41:57,152 But you know, I want to see the continuation.
01:41:57,236 --> 01:41:58,361 Of what?
01:41:58,446 --> 01:42:01,281 --The continuation of this. --The continuation of the movie?
01:42:01,365 --> 01:42:03,658 I want to see the continuation of the movie.
01:42:03,743 --> 01:42:06,077 What? But it's great because it ends
01:42:06,162 --> 01:42:08,288 while leaving room for your imagination.
01:42:08,372 --> 01:42:09,873 Yeah, so?
01:42:09,957 --> 01:42:11,541 I know that, but still...
01:42:11,626 --> 01:42:15,378 But I don't want to see the continuation.
01:42:15,463 --> 01:42:19,132 Isn't it better for each person
01:42:19,216 --> 01:42:22,177 to have thoughts on how they want things to be?
01:42:22,261 --> 01:42:24,596 But after seeing that...
01:42:24,680 --> 01:42:29,643 --Seeing what? --What was it?
01:42:29,727 --> 01:42:31,311 --What? --The extras.
01:42:31,395 --> 01:42:32,812 Oh, the shorts.
01:42:32,897 --> 01:42:37,901 Ed as a grandpa was in the extra shorts.
01:42:37,985 --> 01:42:41,237 --¤ust a bit. --I saw that bit,
01:42:41,322 --> 01:42:44,366 so I wonder how he ended up
01:42:44,450 --> 01:42:46,743 becoming a grandpa and going to ¤apan.
01:42:46,827 --> 01:42:49,287 The people listening will be like, "What is she talking about?!"
01:42:49,372 --> 01:42:51,122 It'll be going on sale next month, so look forward to it.
01:42:51,207 --> 01:42:52,165 It's not next month, now, is it?
01:42:52,249 --> 01:42:54,209 Oh, no, it'll be about a month after this is released.
01:42:54,293 --> 01:42:56,419 --Oh, right. --Oh, really?
01:42:56,504 --> 01:43:01,299 Yeah, and by the time people hear this, it'll be announced.
01:43:01,384 --> 01:43:03,677 It'll be okay.
01:43:03,761 --> 01:43:08,139 Yeah, so we made some little extras.
01:43:08,224 --> 01:43:10,350 Hey, then I spoiled it, didn't I?
01:43:10,434 --> 01:43:12,435 It's all right.
01:43:15,606 --> 01:43:19,984 This sure was a large-scale pro¤ect, though.
01:43:20,069 --> 01:43:22,195 The music was great, too.
01:43:22,279 --> 01:43:25,198 I liked the songs.
01:43:25,282 --> 01:43:28,284 It was great, wasn't it? All throughout the TV series, too.
01:43:28,369 --> 01:43:32,080 And I really love this song by L'Arc¤en¤¤iel.
01:43:32,164 --> 01:43:34,207 It's great, isn't it?
01:43:34,291 --> 01:43:38,128 It's amazing, you know? We got L'Arc to make two songs for the movie.
01:43:38,212 --> 01:43:40,296 Talk about extravagant.
01:43:40,381 --> 01:43:43,717 Not only that, but we met with Hyde-san and planned things out,
01:43:43,801 --> 01:43:50,098 so they really picked up on what we were producing.
01:43:50,182 --> 01:43:54,936 You know, the director was on some L'Arc¤en¤¤iel fan club report.
01:43:55,020 --> 01:43:58,606 --No way! --I had no idea! --Right, I did an interview.
01:43:58,691 --> 01:43:59,733 I thought it was amazing.
01:43:59,817 --> 01:44:05,488 In that sense, L'Arc also saw this as a huge pro¤ect,
01:44:05,573 --> 01:44:08,283 so I really appreciated that.
01:44:08,367 --> 01:44:10,702 Even for the openings and endings for the TV series,
01:44:10,786 --> 01:44:16,583 when I asked for artists that I liked or thought would fit the show,
01:44:16,667 --> 01:44:20,044 things got worked out really nicely and easily.
01:44:20,129 --> 01:44:23,423 And Oshima-san's music is really great, too.
01:44:23,507 --> 01:44:27,135 We were blessed in various ways.
01:44:27,219 --> 01:44:30,180 When you get this many people working together,
01:44:30,264 --> 01:44:31,973 you can create something incredible.
01:44:32,057 --> 01:44:34,851 There aren't too many pro¤ects that make you really feel that.
01:44:34,935 --> 01:44:37,979 Of course, that includes everyone in the cast. Thank you so much.
01:44:38,063 --> 01:44:38,980 No, thank ¤iu.
01:44:39,064 --> 01:44:41,816 It looks like this is going to wrap up neatly.
01:44:41,901 --> 01:44:47,906 Director, Mizushima Sei¤i! Yeah! Thanks for your hard work!

People, after literally 10 YEARS I have put together a YouTube playlist for the House of Cards, Book 1 soundtrack. Thanks to @raspberry-yogurt for the kick up the ass and inspiration to finally do this.
Most of my fics I see play out as movies in my head. Naturally there has to be a soundtrack. These are the songs that either played through my head while I wrote, or that fit exactly the mood of the story after the fact. THIS IS 40 TRACKS LONG, and goes through the entire story in chronological order, chapter by chapter.
Notes below in case you’re interested.
1.  Björk – Hidden Place - This was always the theme tune. House of Cards = the safehouse = the hidden place.
2.  King Black Acid – Wake Up #37 - Rogue wakes up to a world gone to shit.
3.  Natalie Imbruglia – On the Run - Rogue doesn’t want to leave her bed. ‘Cos who wants to face a broken world?
4.  The Stranglers – Strange Little Girl - Just Rogue.  It’s what she is.
5.  Mich Gerber – Sirens Call (Quishm) - Rogue opens the curtains and sees what the world has turned into.  She starts to comes to terms with it.
6.  Metric – Glass Ceiling - Mystique teaches Rogue her craft and turns her into a Brotherhood soldier. Rogue is on her knees, crawling through life.
7.  Belltower – In Hollow - The mission to destroy the Sentinel parts factory. Rogue feels like a dead woman walking, yet for some reason she cares enough about a necklace to go and rescue it.
8.  King Black Acid – Soul Systems Burn - Rogue meets Remy again and loses her virginity to him.
9.  Sugababes – Come Together - Remy. “Got to be good-looking cos he’ so hard to see”. True story. (Beatles version is better. But in my hc Rems likes this version better, cos sexy ladies are singing it.)
10.  Norah Jones – I've Got to See You Again - It’s the song the busker on the street corner is singing in chapter 7. “To not touch your skin is not why I sing.”
11.   Radiohead – No Surprises - Because really, both Remy and Rogue are just a little bit dead inside. Bringing down the government, with hearts full like a landslide.
12.  Metric – Poster of a Girl - Rogue becomes an underground espionage whore. A poster of a girl, for other men’s pleasure.
13.  Imogen Heap – Have You Got It In You? -  Rogue’s mission to assassinate Kincaid. Remy comes in a takes the murder on his own hands.
14.  Madonna – To Have and Not to Hold - Rogue and Remy’s second night together. The rules of the game say no attachment, but maybe you want it. “Like a moth to a flame, only I am to blame.”
15.  Imogen Heap – The Moment I Said It - The morning after. Saying goodbye on bad terms is the worst...
16.  Silverchair – Miss You Love - ...Except that Remy really misses Rogue.
17.  The Velvet Underground – Stephanie Says - “There can be no emotion, there can be no feeling. If we allow ourselves to feel then we might as well die.” “It’s so cold in Alaska.”
18. Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark – Time Zones - Rogue looks at the clocks in the hotel lobby.  Time means nothing - or does it? (When I burned this soundtrack, this was the break between disc 1 and 2).
19.  Massive Attack – Inertia Creeps - Rogue’s mission to seduce Troy Rifkind ~ Rogue’s third night with Remy. Basically this song is pure sex.
20.  Massive Attack – Dissolved Girl - More Rogue’s third night with Remy. Cos this song is pure sex the sequel.
21.  Thom Yorke – And It Rained All Night - Remy carries on with life and his crazy capers, but for some reason he’s a little distracted.
22.  Coldplay – Clocks - Always saw this as a crazy montage scene in my head, backed up by this song. Rogue and Remy going about their messed up lives, on missions, always close by, always thinking about one another, but never intersecting. “You are home, where I wanted to go”.
23.  Imogen Heap – Glittering Clouds (Locusts) - Rogue’s on the nation’s most-wanted list. What it’s like being invisible but infamous. “Don’t blame me, don’t maim me, I can’t help what I am.”
24.  Nouvelle Vague – I Melt with You - Rogue and Remy’s fourth night together. That indestructible feeling of being with someone you love.
25.  PP Arnold – Angel Of The Morning - The morning after. Just this whole song, basically.
26.  King Black Acid – Rolling Under - The Mystique-Rogue-Irene relationship. “You’re beautiful because you cried the tears trapped in your mother’s eyes. She told you that she loves you so and never wants to let you go. You’re beautiful because you tried to hold onto the little child who always knows you’re loved”.
27.  Lamb – Gabriel - Rogue comes to the dangerous and comforting conclusion that she’s in-love with Remy.
28.  Robbie Robertson – Unbound - And Remy kind of but doesn’t come to the conclusion that he’s in-love with Rogue.
29.  Mono – The Outsider - Rogue and Remy learn the truth about one another in the worst way possible.
30.  New Order – Crystal - When relationships go bad. “I’m a man in a rage/with a girl I betrayed”.
31.  Bic Runga – Sorry - Rogue and Remy’s argument in chapter 20. Neither can say sorry.
32.  Mono – Playboys - The mission with Anton Simmons.  Inside Rogue’s still angry at Remy, even though he kept her living all these years.
33.  Belltower – Too Late - Rogue and Remy’s last night together.  What they found together seems too late. “If every word unspoken flowed into my head. They’d get tied up, waiting to be seen. Too late, too late for me.  They come too late.”
34.  Badly Drawn Boy – Once Around the Block - The interlude. Rogue and Remy remember their youth at the Xavier Institute, when they were endlessly chasing one another and getting nowhere. “I want to repair your desire and call it a gift that I stole from just wanting to live.”
35.  José González – Heartbeats - “We were in-love.” (Suggested by Katjen, way back in the day).
36.  Natalie Imbruglia – That Day - It’s Rogue’s day of reckoning, the day of the mission at the Hound Pens. “And I’m nothing, and I’m true, and only a brave man can break through”.
37.  Imogen Heap – Closing In - Storming the Hound Pens. “I hope that you make it/I hope that you find your way.”
38.  Björk – Undo - Rogue steals Rachel Summers’ chronoskimming powers and battles against the Timestream to get back to Remy.
39.  Imogen Heap – Just For Now - Yes, I know it’s a Christmas song. But it’s also Romy finding each other and leaving their pasts behind together.
40.  Dido – Take My Hand - Closing credits. ;)
