31. Do you take liberties with canon or are you very strict about your fic being canon compliant?

i write canon divergence sometimes definitely but i like the challenge of keeping things as canon compliant as possible, especially for aus tbh. a lot of my au concepts are like 'what if everything was exactly the same, except this one thing' bc that's what i generally vibe with. i typically keep canon compliant even with storylines i don't/didn't particularly like, but i will make an exception here or there if something is just especially dumb. mostly though i will just try to write it in a way that makes it less dumb lol. i actually think that can be a fun exercise like, okay, what's a reading of this storyline that makes it less terrible? 🤔

32. How do you feel about smut?

i love smut!! i read a lot of smut. i sometimes write smut (though i did stop for my last fandom when Discourse started to happen and it became stressful rather than fun). i unironically think smut is a great tool for character exploration and depth. sex can tell you so much about someone and especially about pieces of their character you're less likely to see explored in the canon material

37. Talk about your current wips.

ngl, now that my current blorbos are back on my screen every week, i have not been writing nearly as much as i was over the summer. i think i sort of hit a wall on exploring where we left off post s7 and now i'm just ready to see where the actual show is gonna take it. so i'm optimistic that as storylines start to move forward i'll get inspired again. currently i've got three main wips that are well underway but have been kind of on pause: angsty post s7 eddie pov fic where buddie begins basically because eddie is afraid of losing buck, more fluffy post s7 eddie pov companion to my post s7 chris pov fic, and yet another post s7 chris pov fic centered around the tsunami anniversary where chris goes to stay with buck and causes problems for the buck/tommy relationship. honestly idk at this point if any of those will be completed - they might be supplanted by new s8 inspired stuff instead

Besides smut? (I know I’ve written and posted it, but tbh i don’t feel like I do that very well). Umm I guess horror and thrillers? I would love to be able to write a “who dunit” fic/series, but I’m just not good at it (or smut) 😅!

8 How slow is a slow burn?

Very slow 😎😆! As in, so far in Dandelion Wishes we’re nearly at the end of the series and the two *still* haven’t kissed yet! We’ve had some flirting, and some confessions, but no actual kissing or hugging or even *gasp* hand holding 🫢. So the slow burn is *slooowwww*!

maybe quanyin? i actually didn't ship it the first 3 times i read the novel and then it was like a switch went off while i was reading it again. so i've become intrigued by what they might get up to post-canon

i sure did!! two of them were zine pieces – Gold Shoes, Soft Paws for the Moshang Anthology and Look at Yourself, Your Highness for Unfulfilled (a tgcf calamities zine)

and the third was So Much for Stardust for the moshang big bang! i got to work with @/hayateart hehe it was so much fun <3

If you could snap your fingers and have one of your fics be finished, whether it's a WIP or one you haven't started yet, which one would it be (besides percyasion) (I don't know if you would have said percyasion but)?

Ooooh, that's a good question. My first thought was actually Percyasion when I saw the preview of the ask but I don't think that is my top pick anymore. Not to jinx it but I'm kind of excited to work on it again after my mini break-throughs last week? To figure out the plot?

But I'd love it if I could finish the Gala Chelsea Percy AU with a snap of my fingers because I'm intimidated as fuck to write it 😅 The bar is high, (my) expectations are through the roof... Yeah, I'd love if I could skip the writing part for that.

Uhhhh. Hmm. Well. In a way?

The long and the short of it is, Edmund accidentally places a curse on Sylvia, and the only viable way to remove it will inadvertently also remove all memories she has of him. They do go through with it anyway, which means that the camaraderie that had developed between E and S is practically wiped clean - at least from Sylvia's point of view. They are introduced anew and need to start from the beginning, basically.

But they do eventually become friends again and they both get their happy endings!
