Final dorm! Savannaclaw! (I now hate Leona/j)

Lycanroc (midday form) is basically a given I feel, and since Jack likes cacti, I gave him Cacturn. I did kinda want to give him maractus, because that’s funny to me, but I’ve decided to use that for a side character. I gave him A. Sandshrew bc he’s from a cold area, and I once saw a really cute fanart of Jack having a Wurmple and Vil having a Glameow as kids, then in NRC Jack has a Purugly and Vil has a Dustox, and I absolutely love that idea, and am stealing it. Growlith and Herdier bc Jack’s a wolf.

Shady critters. That was the theme. The only thing I feel like commenting on is the Lycanroc (midnight form), because it both fits him, and he’s matching with Jack :)

Leona… oh Leona, I had no idea what to do for like half of your team. Pyroar (m) is obvious, and so is Nidoking I feel. Lycanroc (dusk form) is so that he can match with his brothers dorm mates. Also, if you want to stretch it, in The Lion King, Mufasa says that everything the light touches is apart of their kingdom, so Jack, being the most moral and just of them would be the light with midday form, and Ruggie, representing the hyenas, is the dark with midnight form, and then Leona, who’s a prince of the light yet hangs out in the dark, is the dusk, where the light meets the dark. Shiny luxray was suggested to me by @honeynclove thank you for that btw, and yeah. It fits enough. I vibe with it 👍. Sandslash bc I wanted to give him a ground type and I gave Jack a Sandshrew, so, fun. And then Tyranitar bc, ground type…? I have no idea, I just needed to get to 6 and it caught my eye. If anyone can get a better reason, please tell me

Ezra is tall, lanky, and black (as in VERY dark skin). His hair is short and curly, wine red and orange with silvery grey streaks starting to run through, and his eyes are dark red. He has Jaguar spots/marking on his wrists, neck, lower back, and ankles.

He just radiates elegance in a similar way to Vil and carries himself in a way that makes you feel he might be royalty made from glass, even though he is ridiculously strong.

Ezra has retractable claws he often paints with gold nail polish, and he has large sharp teeth similar to that of a jaguar's. He also has Jaguar ears and a tail.

Personality:

If elegant was a personality trait, Ezra seems to have it. He's very calm and collected but can spit fire if he feels like it. He can be uptight, strict, and serious and is viewed by some as stuck up, but he considers that to be more of a stage persona.

Ezra is very passionate, creative, imaginative, and kind to those he's close to. He's a firm believer in his own unique brand of tough love, where he won't be needlessly cruel or mean, but he's not going to tiptoe around your feelings, especially if he feels the person he's close to is struggling and needs help.

He has a sense of humour and drips sarcasm at times. He's got wine aunt energy, to be honest. He DOES love wine.

•Ezra is loosely twisted from Tanya from Mamma Mia

•Ezra was one of Morrigan's best friends at NRC and remained his friend until he died

•He comes from a strict, wealthy family and gravitated towards Morrigan due to their similar desires to just rebel and give them the middle finger

•Ezra was the housewarden of Pomefiore during his time at NRC

Alastair is a short, chubby man with snow white hair and light blue ends like this:

At least, on land. Whenever he gets into the water, his hair changes to match the water. His eyes are bright yellow, and he has two small fangs. He's very tanned, and some of his face is scarred over.

He doesn't actually "Naturally" have many kelpie features, though he does have pointed ears, but he can shape shift as he pleases to seen more like a horse (he doesn't do it often cause people keep trying to ride him when he does lol). He's got a twirly moustache and some stubble.

Personality:

Though some people get the impression that he's serious, Alastair is warm, friendly, sarcastic, and a joker. He's got that wise old man vibe to him, though he's probably more likely to tell you to do something very unwise for shits and giggles.

He's always ready to do something or go on adventure, always filled with excitement and creativity. He often gets into some unexpected, chaotic situations but always finds some way to get out of them again.

Some Fun Facts/Extra Info

•Alastair is loosely based off Rosie from Mamma Mia, with a dash of Donna

•He was Morrigan's other best friend at NRC

•During his time at NRC he would insist his name was actually Constantine cause he thought it sounded cooler than his actual name

•He was much more cold and closed off as a teen, but Morrigan brought him out of his shell. He didn't feel any need to rebel against his own family or anything, but Morrigan adopted him as a friend and dragged him into various shenanigans with Ezra anyway

•Between himself and Ezra, Alastair was hit by Morrigan's death the hardest, and for quite a long time, he couldn't say or hear Morrigan's name without bursting into tears

•He's Finn's other godfather

•He started out his career as a chef and sold a ton of cookbooks before getting into the hotel business

•He and Ezra keep close contact and always plan so they can visit Finn and Silas together

"Eventually, as she gets used to her environment. Just makes sure she's taken care of properly and all her needs are met." Finn smiled as he spoke. "I know you'll manage with that just fine. Not a single corner cut."

"Of course not!" Riddle said proudly. "I take hedgehog care, or care for any animal, incredibly seriously! I will not stand for anything less than the best for them."

Riddle's smile became softer as he spoke again, quieter. "Thank you for your help, Finn."

Hide: What does your OC hide? Why do they hide it?

There is something Silas hides, but... that is kind of a Lamentations spoiler? It's related to a certain part of his appearance, though (feel free to guess😉).

I suppose another thing he does "hide," mainly from Finn, is the true extent of the damage from his injury. He doesn't coddle Finn about it, though. In fact, he does make it pretty clear that he can't operate quite the same as other parents, for example "I can't swim with you all that way, it hurts too much" or something.

However, he isn't very... specific about it? You'll NEVER catch him saying, "The pain is bad enough to make me want to chop my tail off it's unbearable." Or "I got shot by a harpoon gun which caused nerve damage and now I can't swim properly." He won't lie to Finn if Finn asks about it, but for now, he'll act like it's "not that bad." Partially so Finn doesn't worry, partially so he maintains that "capable" image and other people don't nag him more than they already do. He's FINE, thank you.

failure: What's your OC's greatest failure? Have they been able to move past it? Does anyone else know about it?

Silas believes his greatest failure was how he was unable to keep Morrigan safe and alive, like he promised. While he's mostly healed over time, he still blames himself for Morrigan's death, and it doesn't help that Morrigan's entire family does as well. Finn doesn't know about it, nor does most others. Timo does sort of? But Silas doesn't divulge this information to him.

Hi hi! Thank you sm for dropping in! A lot of Silas' past is written in his fic Lamentations, so I decided to go for a small moment that's more of a mild annoyance for him than traumatic XD

Finn's teacher, what was her name again? Miss something. Miss Glass, he was pretty sure. Finn's teacher looked troubled, concerned. Silas wondered if something bad happened, only to be presented with a page, on which was his his son's familiar drawing scrawl.

He looked at it, then at Miss Glass, then back again. Then he stared at her and asked, "Yes? What?"

"This," said Miss Glass, and her voice voice wavered from his gaze as she pointed at the drawing, which seemed to be a crudely drawn Marlin... with a merfolk impaled on the bill. "This is very concerning behaviour, Mister Clearcove. Someone so young shouldn't be drawing such disturbing things. A swordfish, stabbing a girl-"

"It's a Marlin." Silas interrupted quietly. "There is a difference. And I don't see what the problem is, exactly?"

"It's violent!" Miss Glass stressed, looking frustrated. "It's not normal. Has he been acting aggressive at home? Or has he maybe watched something he shouldn't have?"

Silas shook his head. "No. I have warned him, though, that Marlins will try to impale you if you mess around with them. He tries to grab new things when he sees them, so it's best he knows."

He could already feel himself growing irritated as he repeated the same words he had told several other people, who were all too happy to get in his business and tell him he was parenting wrong by telling Finn such "traumatising" things.

"But Mister Clearcove, this should not be-"

"I told him what would happen if you anger a Marlin, and he drew it. He didn't draw any of his classmates being impaled, he didn't try threaten anyone, he didn't even draw the blood in the right shade, and he's certainly not scared or traumatised. So what exactly is the problem?" Silas spoke slowly and calmly, even though he felt like shouting on the inside. Really, coastal merfolk are so sensitive.

Miss Glass stammered and swam back a bit, intimidated by his stare. Silas rolled his eyes, took the picture from her, and left. He stared at the picture for a while, then suddenly realised the hair and tail looked all too familiar.

'Gale's telling him adventure stories again, I see...'

You were a fairly private person. You had travelled to many places and seen many things throughout your life, but you preferred to keep most of your personal information and experiences to yourself.

Most people ended up disappointed, annoyed even, when they realised you weren't going to share many things about yourself or your travels. None of those people, however, came closer to the sheer frustration that seemed to befall Professor Cosme Da Costa.

Night Raven College's head of discipline wasn't loud or obtrusive, but he was incredibly nosy when it came to you and seemed almost desperate to gain a shred of information about you.

"Come on," Cosme insisted, his calk and composed demeanour dissipating to reveal something much funnier. "Now you're just baiting me. Where are you even from?"

You shrugged your shoulders and smiled at him, keeping your lips sealed. You didn't actually mind telling people your home country, but Cosme's exasperation was just too funny.

Cosme huffed and grossed his arms, wondering how exactly he was going to work with you if he barely knew anything about you. From your perspective, his puffed cheeks and deep frown looked way too cute for someone who was usually so serious.

"You'll just have to guess." You told him playfully.

Cosme paused for a moment and studied you with a scrutinous gaze.

"Land of Dawning?" He asked after a while.

"No."

"Briar Valley?"

"No?"

"Coral Sea?"

"No," you answered again. "You aren't going to list off every country in Twisted Wonderland, are you?"

Cosme's lips quirked upwards as he continued.

Nkulu's true desire is to have a good relationship with his little sister and for her to love him and think of him as an amazing big brother. Finn scratches at things. Ever since he was small, he would dig his claws into rocks or drag them across things nervously. In his human form, his nails are blunt and short, and he doesn't have claws, but he still does it.

What's the fastest way to piss them off? To calm them down? To cheer them up?

For Nkulu, it's acting fake towards him and expecting him to believe. He's not stupid, don't treat him like he is. He's dealt with a lot of people who think he's a lumbering moron so he's kinda all out of tolerance for it.

Another one is refusing to try pronounce his name correctly. He'll let you call him Nkulu as a nickname cause Nkululeko is a bit long, but he will not dumb it down further for you. Either at least give it a shot or fuck off.

Calming him down... apologising is a good way to do it, if you're the one who pissed him off. You have to mean it, though. There's not too many other ways other than telling him to calm down and take a moment to think, since he mostly calms down by himself.

Taking interest and what he has to say and do is a good way to cheer him up! So is making food for him or giving him little gifts, even if it's just like a bracelet or something.

Clyde is a bit harder cause they're so... Clyde. But I think the easiest way to piss them off is to only try to talk to them/befriend them to try get information from them. Not only does it make them feel like no one really likes them for any real reason, but it also messes with their perception of reality because they are already very paranoid. Just. Stop. Please.

Another one is not listening to them when they tell you to do something. It's very rare that they're commanding in any way, and it's usually for your best interest to do what they say. They gey aggressive and snappy and if it's dire they will *make* you do it.

Another is hurting the few friends they have. They will get you for that, and since they've got essentially all knowledge at their disposal, it's not going to be pretty.

There's not really any way to calm them down? 😭 they don't really listen and always do their own thing. I guess you could try telling them to take a moment to think.

Cheering them up is very difficult because they spiral hard and are basically stuck in their own thoughts. All they can think about is the bad things they know (war, crimes, abuse, etc) and its difficult for them to focus on the good. Making them some tea and reminding them of good things and to think about them is a good start, though.

What's the chore unique to Heartslaybul that they look least forward to? What's their favourite? (tending the flamingoes/hedgehogs, organizing the Unbirthday parties, painting the roses, etc. etc.)

Organising unbirthday parties because Nkulu always trips over stuff and fumbles with what he's holding because he's so big, and it embrarases him in front of his crush, Riddle. He usually avoids helping out because he does not want to break that tea set or upend the table.

His favourite things are painting the roses and looking after the flamingoes. He thinks flamingoes are neat and the steady routine of painting the roses is very comforting to him.
