Let’s start the year off right
Tumblr media
pairing: ex boyfriend to lover!jaehyun x fem!reader
genre: smut, angst
wc: 1,8k
warnings: groping, fingering, oral (female receiving)
a/n: hey Autumn @smileyerim ! I hope you enjoy this fic for the secret santa event!! 💖 I’m really sorry I was sooo late 😭😭 hope you had an amazing holiday season and you enjoy this!!
Tumblr media
“What about him?”
Sliding further into the couch, you sigh at your friend pointing at yet another prospective victim. He was tall, and cute, yet the way he was holding his drink gave you an ick you couldn’t shake off. The new year’s party you were currently at was full of them, in fact. The hallway overflowed with single men your age, almost like a pretty boy factory, all of them not quite fitting your piece of the puzzle.
“How many times do I need to tell you? Even if he is into me, I’ve completely forgotten how to flirt!”
“Well if you never practice, how the hell are you gonna get out of your dry spell?”
“Just sit here and wait for the universe to send someone my way?”
“Hey, you can’t refuse to take a risk, and also pester me all night about how horny you are. You gotta pick a struggle.”
You groan at his remark, your frustration growing bigger. The boy you were looking at sends you a smile, and you hope he doesn’t invite himself over.
“It’s not that it’s just… I’m gonna have to ask him for his name, and his work, and his friends, then his family… all for it to possibly not work out in the end.”
“Building a relationship of any kind takes time, y/n. It’s not like Santa is gonna fall from the chimney with your new year’s kiss!”
As if rehearsed, someone barges through the front door right then, magnetizing everyone’s eyes on him at once. The stranger in a bright red Santa costume has his head fallen, warm brown locks swinging as he pants heavily.
“Sorry I’m late! Your elevator’s broken.”
“Not a chimney, but close enough”, your friend mumbles, amused, before gasping as the other man finally stands up straight. You could have recognized those dimples anywhere.
“You’ve gotta be kidding me.”
“Good to see you too”, the stranger responds to your not-so-subtle observation, though he wasn’t much of a stranger anymore. He was no other than your ex, the one you’ve so skillfully managed to avoid for months, until Fate decided to bring you back together right before the year changed and you’d decide to change with it. He seemed eager to aid Fate, confidently striding towards you and Mark, before ungracefully sprawling himself onto the tiny couch next to you.
“Nice outfit”, you sigh, trying to inhale as little of that cologne you got him for your last anniversary that made your knees turn to jello.
“You always told me I look good in red”, he retorts quickly, witty as ever. “My friend’s kid threw a party and they were looking for a Santa.”
The explanation mellows you out a little, appreciating the reason behind the ridiculous attire.
“Anything you want to ask for from Mr. Claus?”, he jokes, “What do you wanna get for Christmas?”
“Fucked”, Mark deadpans, and manages to escape your chokehold right on time.
“Hey Mark could you please go get yourself a drink in the kitchen? And stay there?”
A wicked smile stretches across the younger boy’s face.
“Oh, I see, I see. You want me to leave you two alone”, he hums, entertained, and you decide not to swear at him at hopes he leaves you alone faster. Jaehyun’s breath that suddenly tickles your ear makes you jump in your seat.
“If you sit on Santa’s lap and ask nicely, maybe your wish will come true.”
Kissing your teeth in annoyance, you press the back of your palms to your cheeks, blaming the hotness of your face to a non-existing headache.
“I think I’m having an allergic reaction to your jokes.”
“I thought you liked my humour?”
“You’re lucky you’re cute”, you tell him honestly, and now it’s his turn to roll his eyes. You notice some redness around his chin, probably from the fake beard he must have had on earlier, and you’re reminded at how easily his skin flares up. Your mind time-travels at all those times you saw his pale skin as a canvas, leaving marks in shades of pink and purple, and you’re so desperate to keep your mind off the thought of your teeth sinking into his neck that you’d talk about anything at this point.
“How’s work?”, you ask a bit awkwardly, regretting the question as soon as you see him tense up. Maybe the reason why you broke up in the first place isn’t the best conversation starter.
“Good. I’ve learned to manage my time a bit better. To spend time with the ones I loved. Wish I could’ve done that sooner.”
The small yet intentional jab leaves a dull pain somewhere deep in your guts.
“I’m happy for you.”
“You are?”
“Yeah”, you nod, earnestly, “I know how hard you work. You deserve your success.”
“Thank you”, he manages to choke out, his eyes a little watery, though it could have been due to tiredness. He passes you both a glass full of a fizzy alcoholic drink, and the bubbles in your tongue soothe you a little.
So you take a few more sips, just enough to let yourself enjoy the warmth Jaehyun’s body emits next to you, enough to snuggle up to him a little. You talk, and talk. About your life, about the mutual friends you both had to become distant to after your break up, about the little habits that you used to share. And it feels nice. So nice that when he asks you for a dance, you don’t even think to scoff in incredulousness.
You scan the room for any prying eyes, only to find everyone preoccupied in the own little universe rather than yours. Jaehyun’s palm is big and inviting as he stretches out his arm towards you and you take it, recognizing that the song that started playing moments ago, was the one you used to call as “yours”.
“Can I be honest with you?”
He spins you slowly around him and the room spins with you, the effects of the champagne evident on his rosy cheeks. Your hands play with the soft fabric of the ridiculous costume that he’s somehow pulling off.
“Please”, you whisper, trying to catch a breath as your chests connect in the crescendo of the chorus.
“I’m not sure what to do with all these feelings for you.”
You stumble on your toes a little, stepping on the corner of his shoe. Your attempt to voice out an apology gets fizzled out when you realize he’s hanging on the tip of your tongue for a response to his confession.
“You still have feelings for me?”
“You don’t?”
His hands move awkwardly from their place on your waist, and you feel like your heart is going to break if he moves even an inch away from you.
You glance at the clock. 10 minutes to 00:00.
Screw it. You can’t wait that long.
Grabbing the back of his neck, you pull him down into a kiss. The forceful movement makes his red hat drop to the floor yet he doesn’t seem to care. He presses his lips against yours harder, moving them slowly as the song fades out into another. Big hands bring you closer, resting right above your ass. You can’t help but silently ask him for your kiss to deepen, sliding the tip of your tongue against his bottom lip. He gladly shares a french kiss with you and when you suck on his tongue lightly, a trick you knew how much he loved when you were together, he lets out a groan that vibrates you both.
You’re not sure where he’s leading you but you follow him, hands travelling across his collarbones as you feel your back getting pressed against a door. His face gets buried in the slope of your neck, sucking at your skin until your legs give out. You can practically feel his devious smirk as he prepares his joke inside his head.
“So. Have you been naughty, or nice?”
“Shut up, Jaehyun.”
You knock on the door behind you (that belonged to the apartment’s only bathroom, apparently), and after getting no answer from the other side, you pull Jaehyun inside with you.
You barely manage to lock before your ass is on the cool sink, your skirt getting pulled up to the top of your thighs. You let your fingers wander past the elastic of his boxers, following the path of his happy trail.
“You first”, he moans, and gets on his knees in front of you. He inserts his middle and then his ring finger, establishing a pace that is both leisurely and sinfully wonderful. And when his lips find your clit, you’re finally reminded of how well he knows what makes your toes crawl; he can play you in the palm of his hand. The sounds of him kissing and slurping echo in the small bathroom, but you can't beg him to stop when you're also struggling to control your moans. You get dizzy from the sensation of his tongue sucking on your pussy and the soft pads of his fingers stroking your walls, and you start digging your nails into the marble in a desperate attempt to keep yourself from falling over.
You can faintly hear the distant cheers of the other party goers from the living room.
“...three, two, one. Happy New Year!”
You bite your fist to stop yourself from making a sound as your orgasm strikes you like a wave, yet that wouldn’t be the end for Jaehyun. He firmly lays one hand on your hips, cupping your left boob with the other. Stars dance over your vision as he continues to lap up on your arousal, sucking on your swollen nub until your whole body starts to shake in overstimulation.
He finally mercies you, pupils blown out from the unadulterated arousal as he gets up on his feet and you take his place on the floor. His cock is pressing desperately against the velvet fabric of his pants, and you’re ready to return the favor when a loud knock on the door startles you.
“Get out already! Some people have to pee!”
You have no choice but to laugh at the other party, straightening out your clothes in silence. You were on your way to the door when you feel Jaehyun cupping your jaw, leaving a surprisingly soft kiss on your raw lips.
“I don’t want the night to end now. Wanna get out of here?”
You smile.
“Sure. Let’s go do something fun. You know what they say; whatever it is you’re doing on the first day of the year, you’ll end up doing for the rest of it too.”
“Guess I’ll have to do you, then.”
It was your turn to kiss him now, yet the intention behind yours felt much heavier.
“Let’s start the year off right.”

Note
If THG's characters are living in modern world (now), what do you feel would be their profession?
Also, what would they study in university?
PS : For Peeta (baker or painter) and Mrs Everdeen (nurse or doctor), could you list another profession beside those please?
You can include as many characters as you can or want.
Thank you so much 😀
@curiousnonny
Hi @curiousnonny =)
Such a fun ask!
There are so many possibilities, but I've decided to make a list ala "Dirty Jobs" style. Lol. I figured to break off from the usual. I love the series Dirty Jobs hosted by Mike Rowe. Not all the jobs on the list are "dirty"!
Sorry for the weirdness! Feel free to gloss over this post. Not everything makes sense! =D I just had fun!
TW: Mention of death.
Katniss - Scrap Metal Recycler.
Katniss also does metal sculptures on the side as a hobby. She's excellent with welding machines, angle grinders, chisels, etc. She knows how to operate all the heavy equipment in the shop, and makes wearing a coverall very, very sexy.
Peeta - Bridge Painter.
Never afraid of heights and dangling in the air while suspended in a harness, Peeta loves having a perspective from above. He does it for the breathtaking sunsets that he can only see from higher elevations.
On the side, that's how Katniss first saw him. She was collecting metal scraps below for recycling, and he was hanging by Panem Capital bridge, eating a sandwich while still hanging. Without her knowing, Peeta spotted her too!
Haymitch - Outback Treasure Hunter.
That's how he created his fortune. He found an ancient relic by the edge of a cliff. He trudged on for days, following historical clues and his instincts.
Effie - Celebrity Pet Groomer.
Effie will groom your pets to the most elevated and loveliest quality. She has a TV show on Capitol One and boasts 15 million followers. Effie practically built an empire with her brand, Trinkett and Mahogany.
Finnick - Shrimper and Oyster Farmer.
The most handsome and easygoing shrimper and oyster farmer you will ever lay eyes on! Watch our golden boy weave nets and hammocks by the beach in his free time. Want to know his secret to living a carefree life? Come visit his farm and bring him some sugar cubes!
Annie - Mushroom Farmer.
She's a genius at this. Grows all sorts of mushrooms for restaurants -- she even has medicinal ones!
Johanna - Pathologist. Particularly an after-death one.
Jo has no qualms about cutting into ribcages and skulls and dissecting organs as long as it solves the mystery of why someone died. She's en route now to the laboratory with Seneca Crane's blood samples that need testing.
Gale - Bell Maker.
Our boy is super good at blacksmithing and forging. He also does restorations of historical bells. Gale's a history buff, and it's all he talks about. That was how he got Madge Undersee, the Mayor's daughter, as his girlfriend. She's an antique preserver and collector. Her most prized possession is a Mockingjay pin from the Uprising.
Primrose - Sled Dog Breeder.
She does it with Rory, who takes care of the training. They're all scientific about it, but really they just want to cuddle Alaskan Huskies!
Seneca Crane - Baby Chicken Sexer.
Someone's gotta do it, right? We have to separate the flock when they're just chicks. Seneca prides himself on being the best sexer there is. He's very serious and methodical in his reaping and does this while sporting an intricate beard.
Sadly, he was found dead recently.
Cinna - Special Effects Artist.
Okay, it's not so far off from what he does with the fake fire on Katniss' dress, but I just couldn't stop myself! He would be so good at making special effects!
Plutarch - Doomsday Seed Banker.
He has to make sure that humanity survives at all costs! We are fickle creatures after all.
Chaff - Deadly Snake Wrangler.
He collects venom for scientific research. When he was eighteen, he lost his arm from a neon Gaul snake muttation.
Snow - Cabbage Farmer.
Snow is currently hiding in a backwater town because he is under investigation for murder. He thinks nobody would look for him on a cabbage farm.

Ok, so it’s probably gonna be a while until the next chapter of help me out (I want to get the second arc mostly worked out before I post anything, like I did for arc one), so I figured I’d share this nonsense little thing I wrote one night while in a melatonin-induced fog.
So here’s a snippet of this Jonsa-tinder-fake-dating fic that I don’t actually have a plot for and therefore may never see the light of day but I liked it so I’m posting it!
(thanks to @jonsa-creatives for the header)
.
Can you believe this? Sansa had captioned the screenshot she sent to her friends.
Tinder isn't a thing Sansa does all the time – she and Margaery had set up an account for her two years ago after she and Harry split and she uses it occasionally. Sometimes it's nice looking at guys and even flirting with a few of them, though she's never had the nerve to go through with any meetups (she has left more than one guy on read after even the slightest hint they wanted to take things into the real world).
But this is new - or at least she's never seen it before.
His photo had made her pause in her bored swiping (curled up on her couch, blanket wrapped around her like an old woman, heating pad on her lower back, six different snacks on the coffee table that she had sampled and ultimately decided weren't doing it for her or her uterus). Most men on this app take terrible photos, or choose terrible photos, and honestly, this one is no different. At least he's cropped out whoever he's in the photo with, most guys don't even bother to do that. He's not smiling, holding a beer in one hand with his other arm around the cropped out person that is clearly a woman.
He is pretty, though.
She's gotta say, the man bun, the beard, the flannel shirt, the cheap beer – none of it should be doing anything for her. Maybe it's her hormones all out of whack, but for some reason, she paused on his photo.
It wasn't his photo, though, that made her screenshot the profile and send it in a group text to her friends. Can you believe this?
Jon, 29, it starts. Good, fine. Well within her acceptable age range. But the rest of it...
Looking for a date to a wedding. I'm not kidding. Must pretend to be my girlfriend. Some PDA required (holding hands, etc), but feel free to punch me in the face if you're ever uncomfortable. Or just tell me and I'll stop.
**Warnings**
-the bride is my ex and the groom is my half brother
-I am desperate not to show up alone to my ex's wedding
-my dad is a dick and he WILL try to hit on you
-I'm terrible in large groups, extrovert with good social skills preferred
-this will be a full weekend and it's unclear if I can get a room with two beds this last minute
-did I mention the wedding is the third weekend in May?
-I will buy you a new dress for the occasion. You actually won't have to pay for anything, though now that I type this it sounds like I'm looking for an escort and I think that's illegal?
Sansa stares at the profile for too long. Why has she not swiped left?
The first text from one of her friends comes in, followed quickly by more, her phone buzzing almost constantly.
-Omg do it
-He's hot!
-Ok you HAVE to go to this wedding, it sounds like something straight off of Maury
-Yes! Go and then live tweet it for the rest of us
-Am I the only one that thinks this sounds like a trap? Like she'll actually end up in someone's basement?
-Shhh Mya, you're ruining all the fun
-Free dress! Hot boy!
-I literally NEED to know how the ex & half brother happened. I might die if I don't
-Does he have more photos? That one's too blurry
-By “blurry”, Marg means she can't see if he's fit or not
Sansa switches back to Tinder and sees that he does, in fact, have another photo. It's definitely not the shirtless selfie Margaery is looking for, but it makes something in Sansa's chest tighten. Against her better judgment, she screenshots that, too, and sends it.
-Ok, so you've definitely swiped right on him then?
-Of course she has, when has Sansa ever been able to resist a cute dog? I've literally watched her stop mid convo to cross the street and pet a strangers dog. It's honestly rude
-Was it a match???
-PLEASE FIND OUT HOW THE EX AND THE HALF BROTHER ENDED UP TOGETHER
Sansa's heart is pounding in her chest, because she hasn't swiped on him, either way. And now, for some reason, she thinks if she swipes right and they aren't a match, she'll actually feel shitty about it. But she gathers what little courage she has, bolstered by the glass of wine she had with her snack sampling, and swipes right.
They're a match.

Breaking The Fourth Wall
Wanda x reader x Vision
Wanda awoke to an empty bed and sunlight blinding her.
"Look, we've all been there, right?" Wanda chuckled as she sat on a chair in Vision's dressing gown. "Letting our fear and anger get the best of us, intentionally expanding the borders of the false world we created." Wanda wondered.
Wanda let out a sigh as she laid in bed at the image of soldiers running in fear, and screaming invaded her mind before pulling the covers over her head.
"Mama, are you coming down soon?" Tommy asked as he and his siblings rushed into her bedroom.
"Mama, our game is freaking out!" Billy exclaimed.
"The systems keep changing!" Luna recalled.
"Is she asleep?" Tommy wondered after their mother stayed quiet.
"Mama's not sleeping, honey," Wanda announced. "She's just resting her eyes." She said from under the covers.
"Kids, what did I say about bothering your Mama?" Y/N asked as she entered the bedroom. "I told you that she's not feeling well."
"But, Mom, my head feels weird. It's, like, really noisy. I don't like it." Billy told Y/N.
"Resting her eyes," Wanda repeated as Y/N pulled Billy in for a hug.
"It's okay, sweetheart. C'mon, kids, Mama's not feeling well. Let's let her rest, and find you something for your head, Billy." Y/N said as she ushered the kids out of the room.
"I feel like an ass," Y/N admitted, sitting in the living room. "I want to take care of Wanda, I do, but at the moment, I'm the only functioning parent in this house. Wanda's bedbound, Vis is MIA, and I've got three kids to look after." Y/N sighed. "They don't need to see her like this. They don't."
"As punishment for my reckless evening, I plan on taking a quarantine-style staycation," Wanda said, back in her striped chair. "A whole day. To myself. That'll show me." She nodded.
Wanda pulled back the covers on her bed to reveal she was still in her Halloween costume, causing Wanda to sigh loudly.
"I got to it first!" Tommy grunted, struggling to pull a controller towards him.
"You always get to it first!" Billy complained, pulling back against his brother's grip.
"Boys." Y/N snapped, moving forward and taking the device out of their hands. "Today is not the day for petty arguments, okay? I have to take care of the three of you and your Mama today, alright. I'm severely under-caffeinated and exhausted, so please, for me, be civil until I've at least had a coffee."
"I'll keep them civil, Mom." Luna piped up from the couch.
"We'll be good, Mom." Billy nodded as Wanda stumbled down the stairs, dressed in one of Y/N's shirts and Vision's dressing gown.
The kids all turned to stare at Wanda in confusion as she blundered into the kitchen.
"Wanda?" Y/N asked as she followed after her wife. "Sweetheart, what are you doing?" She wondered, watching as Wanda gathered items for breakfast.
"Cereal." Wanda simply said as the milk on the counter glitched.
"Why didn't you just ask? I could've brought it to you." Y/N said as Wanda sniffed her cereal.
"Well, I'm up now, so it doesn't matter," Wanda said as the milk turned, a grainy black and white.
"Yeah, I'm not sure what that's about," Wanda commented about the milk. "It's probably just a case of the Mondays. Am I right?" She chuckled.
After the events of last night, SWORD had had to create a temporary base about eight miles outside of Westview.
"Lucky for us, she pumped the breaks." A woman commented as she and Hayward stared at the red energy field.
"Yeah. I feel very lucky." Hayward chuckled. "What's happening with the broadcast?" He asked her.
"Dead air. The signal's gone." She informed him.
"Make sure the team has everything they need. We launch today." Hayward nodded.
"Yes, sir."
Back inside the Hex, Vision was just beginning to wake up. Though, to his surprise, he was not waking up in his bed at home.
He was waking up on a field, a field where a circus had set itself up around him.
Vision stopped in confusion as clowns, mimes and other circus folk walked around him.
What happened last night? Vision wondered, watching the milling people.
And then suddenly, it hit him. The memories of the night before, the pain he felt before collapsing and blacking out.
"You're the new clown?" A man in a leotard demanded as he approached Vision. "At least you're already in makeup." He sighed. "You're late for rehearsal with the escape artist. Come on." The man said, gesturing his head to the left before walking away.
Vision stared after the man in confusion before turning in the direction he nodded.
There stood a dark-haired woman, wrapped in chains. A woman Vision remembered from last night.
"Yeah, I'm not great at this gig, I gotta be honest." She admitted with a sigh. "It doesn't really speak to my skill set. I put in for the bearded lady, but this alabaster complexion wasn't fooling anyone."
As Vision's memory became more comprehensible, he began to stare at the woman quite intensely.
"Can I help you, creeper?" The woman asked, raising a brow at Vision.
"You don't remember me from last night?" Vision asked, causing the woman's eyes to widen. "We locked eyes. There was an unspoken understanding."
"Um, hard pass." She said, pulling the chains from her body before she began to walk away.
"No, wait. Wait up!" Vision called, rushing after her.
"Y/N, have you seen Vis?" Wanda asked, shoveling a spoonful of sugary snaps into her mouth.
"Not since last night," Y/N told her. "I haven't heard from him this morning. I'm worried about him."
"Hm." Wanda hummed before walking into the living room. "Have you seen your Dad?" She asked the kids.
"No." Tommy shook his head, engrossed in the video game before him.
"Do you wanna go look for him?" Billy asked, turning away from the game as Luna put her book down.
"Well, if he doesn't want to be here, there's nothing I can do about it." Wanda shrugged, grabbing the TV remote and changing the channel.
"Mama's kidding, guys," Y/N said, causing Wanda to snort. "Your Dad's just busy, that's all."
"Mama, what did Uncle Pietro mean about re-killing Dad?" Luna asked, biting her lower lip in worry.
"Actually, what did he mean, sweetheart?" Y/N asked, turning to her wife.
"He meant nothing." Wanda scoffed. "And don't believe a word that man said. He is not your uncle." She told the three children.
"Well, then, who is he?" Tommy wondered.
"Here's the thing, guys. I'm your Mama, and as such, you were counting on me to have all the answers, right?" Wanda asked, causing the kids to nod. "Well, I don't. I have no answers. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Niente." She laughed as the kids stared at her and their other mother worriedly. "I'm starting to believe that everything is meaningless. You're welcome to draw your own conclusions, but that's just where I'm at."
"Jesus fucking Christ." Y/N sighed, pressing her head into her hands.
"So maybe I went a little too dark there, but they'll be fine. Vision is made of Vibranium. And have you met my wife? The kids literally inherited tough skin."
"Okay, kids, why don't you go grab your jackets for me, okay?" Y/N asked, ushering the kids out of the living room as Wanda collapsed onto the couch. "Okay, we're going to give you some me-time. I'm taking the kids to the park, Wand."
"Are you serious?" Wanda asked, looking up at Y/N with wide eyes.
"Yes, you need a break," Y/N told her. "I don't know what last night was, and I certainly don't know what's going on this morning, but you need some time to yourself."
"I ever tell you that I love you?" Wanda asked, causing Y/N to smirk.
"Not this morning." She told her.
"I love you." Wanda sighed, leaning up to kiss Y/N as the kids re-entered the living room.
"I love you too," Y/N said as she pulled away. "Now, who's ready to go to the park?" Y/N clapped, turning to the kids, a convincing fake grin on her face.
"But who's going to stay and look after Mama?" Billy asked, looking at Wanda in concern.
"Guys, I'll be fine," Wanda promised. "Go. Have fun at the park." She shooed the four out the front door.
When the door shut behind her family, Wanda was left alone.
And the silence of the house brought a smile to her face.
Wanda settled back into the couch, her bowl of cereal on her lap, as she turned her attention to the TV.
The TV wasn't able to hold her attention for long as her head snapped to the side to see a house plant glitching.
And then the fireplace changed.
A chair followed, and then the TV altered.
Wanda put her bowl of cereal on the table before she forced the living room to change back to its modern setting.
"I'm fine. I'm fine, I'm fine." Wanda chuckled. "I'm fine. I'm fine." She promised reassuringly. "I'm fine."
"Darcy made it through that last firewall all right," Jimmy reported. He and Monica had been driving all night, too afraid Wanda's Hex would catch them if they even slowed down.
"What'd she find?" Monica asked, glancing over at the man before turning back to the road.
"R and D reports. All on the same project. Code name, Cataract." Jimmy informed her. "Hayward wasn't decommissioning Vision. He was trying to bring him back online. And nothing worked until,"
"Wanda stole Vision's body." Monica nodded, the pieces beginning to fit together.
"That's why he was so focused on tracking Vision inside the Hex." Jimmy realized.
"Hayward wants his sentient weapon back," Monica murmured.
"Someone has to tell Wanda," Jimmy said, causing Monica to nod.
"Look. There they are." Monica grinned as she and Jimmy got closer to several cars and a large metal storage container.
She and Jimmy quickly got out of the car and made a beeline for a woman already walking their way.
"Major Goodner." Monica grinned.
"Captain Rambeau." The woman smiled.
"This is Agent Woo." Monica introduced as Jimmy reached a hand out.
"Nice to meet you." Major Goodner nodded, shaking Jimmy's hand firmly.
"Thank you so much for coming. My mother would appreciate your loyalty." Monica said, taking the Major's hand in her own.
"She's not the only one we're loyal to, Captain," Goodner told Monica. "Let me show you what we brought you." She said before leading the pair over to the tent.
At Goodner's nod, a six-wheeled vehicle rolled out of the container.
"Did we get your specs right?" Goodner asked as Monica took several steps forward.
"She's perfect," Monica murmured, staring at the vehicle in awe.
"Hello, excuse me? You tried to help me." Vision said as he rushed after the dark-haired woman.
"Doubtful." She scoffed. "I'm notoriously self-involved." She said, continuing to walk away from Vision.
"No. No. No. Please, just hear me out." Vision begged, rushing in front of the woman, causing her to stop. "All right. I believe that you were a part of a team monitoring a supernatural anomaly. And now, well, you're in it." He said, causing the woman to sigh heavily.
"Fine. I'll go out with you, but I'm ordering the lobster." She said before attempting to walk away.
Vision let out a heavy sigh before a plan came to mind.
"Oh no, look! That mime! His tray is too heavy!" Vision gasped, causing the woman to spin and face said mime.
"Oh, your bad back!" She groaned before Vision pressed his hands to her temples. "Oh! Ooh, okay. Whoa!" Darcy gasped as the wall broke.
"Awake?" Vision asked, holding his hands out in case the woman toppled over
"Uh, yeah?"
"All right?" Vision confirmed.
"Ooh. Oh, hello, self. You know, part of me secretly wanted a guest spot on the show, but seriously? That sucked." Darcy admitted.
"Look, uh, what is your name? Your real name?" Vision demanded of her.
"Darcy Lewis."
"Dr. Darcy Lewis." Vision sighed in relief. "I intercepted a communication regarding your work." He recalled.
"Hey, the lions just got off stage. You're up." A man in a leotard told the two, who promptly ignored him.
"Dr. Lewis, I have questions," Vision told her.
"I have answers." She nodded.
"Brilliant. I believe it's time we take our leave." Vision said, noting the leotard-clad man approaching them.
"You're right, but first, we need him," Darcy said, pointing to a man who was throwing knives at a board.
Throwing knives at a board with an abnormal accuracy rate.
"Him? Are you sure?" Vision wondered.
"Yes. Trust me, we need him. Awake." Darcy told him.
"Alright." Vision nodded before he and Darcy rushed over to the blonde man.
The man snapped around when the two approached, but before he could say a word, Vision pressed his hands to the man's temples and broke the wall.
"Oh, shit." The man grunted, dropping his knives to the ground. "I never wanted to be back in the circus." He sighed, rubbing his temples before looking up. "It's good to see you, Darcy. And you too, Vision."
"I'm sorry, do I know you?" Vision wondered, cocking his head to the side.
"You do. You tried to choke me out once." He nodded. "I'm also your father-in-law. Clint Barton." He announced.
"We can catch you up on the road," Darcy said, nodding over to a funnel cake truck.
"I said you two are up." The leotard man said, appearing behind Vision and Darcy.
"No, I'm so sorry. But the three of us have a prior engagement." Vision apologized.
"They're not going anywhere." The man said, grabbing Darcy's arm.
But Darcy wasn't having any of it and quickly turned around and punched him in the face.
"Oh no!" Vision hissed.
"My nose!" The man cried from the ground as Darcy high-fived Clint.
"Sorry." Darcy shrugged as the three began to run towards the van.
"Come on."
"Excuse me!"
"Out of the way."
"Where do you think you're going? Get back here!" The leotard-clad man yelled before the three loaded themselves into the van.
"To your house, I assume?" Darcy asked as Clint searched the car for the keys.
"Dr. Lewis, my questions, are my children safe?" Vision demanded.
"That I don't know."
"Are my wife's safe?"
"I don't know."
"And who is that imposter Pietro?"
"Beats me."
"Ah-ha! Let's get moving." Clint cheered, having found the keys.
"Excellent." Vision grinned. As Clint started the car, there was a second that Vision allowed himself to relax in his chair before there was a pounding at the window that caused him to yell.
"Get out of there!" The man ordered.
"Sorry, can't hear you." Vision said apologetically.
"What?"
"Drive!" Vision exclaimed, turning towards Clint. "I'm so sorry. We were double-booked by the agents."
"You have to be on stage."
"Never again, pal," Clint yelled out his open window.
"Step on it, Clint!" Darcy shouted.
"What are you doing?"
"Can't hear you."
"You get back here! I need you! We need you!" The leotard man yelled, but it was fruitless.
The van had left the campground and was speeding towards Wanda and Y/N.
Y/N let out a sigh as she reached Vision's voicemail once more.
"Vis, please call me back. I need to know that you're okay and that you're safe. I need you, Vis, I need you now. I'm with the kids at the park. Something's wrong with Wanda, and I couldn't let them see her like that. Please, just. Please, just call me back. I love you." Y/N said before turning her phone off and turning her gaze back to her playing children.
"Y/N?"
At the call of her name, Y/N turned around to see Agnes approaching the bench she sat on.
"I thought that was you, hon." Agnes grinned, taking a seat beside her.
"Agnes, hi." Y/N gave Agnes a weak smile. "Were you out on a walk?"
"No, not today, hon. I actually went to your house." Agnes admitted. "I talked Wanda out of cutting her own bangs before she mentioned you and the kids were here."
"God, I shouldn't have left her alone." Y/N sighed, pressing her face into her hands.
"No, you did the right thing. No need to make the kids see their mother like that." Agnes promised. "You look like you need a break, Y/N. Say, why don't you bring the kids over to my house?" Agnes suggested.
"Oh, Agnes, are you sure?"
"Of course! Ralph just finished renovating the rumpus room, and the kids can play down there with Senor Scratchy, and we have some adult conversation." She told you.
"That sounds great, Agnes." Y/N sighed happily. "Give me a second to round up the kids, and we can get going." She said as she stood.
"I'll help." Agnes offered. "I'll bluster Aunty Agnes' house of fun so much they'll never want to leave."
While Y/N had been at the park with the kids, Wanda had been enjoying the quiet of the house.
She'd been able to turn off her brain as she ate her cereal and mindlessly watched the TV.
When her bowl was finished, Wanda rose from the couch and made her way towards the kitchen.
But it was when she neared the kitchen it started again.
The kitchen table glitched, reverting in style.
The light fixture was next, and the curtains soon followed.
And then the wallpaper to peel upwards, and the walls glitched between walls and windows.
The stairs flared, and Wanda snapped around when she heard the stork which had reappeared.
"I don't understand what's happening." Wanda sighed, staring blankly at a wall. "Why it's all falling apart and why I can't fix it." She elaborated.
"Do you think maybe this is what you deserve?"
"What?" Wanda asked, staring across from her in confusion. "You're not supposed to talk."
At Agnes' house, Agnes brought out a tray of snacks into the living room, where the kids sat playing with Senor Scratchy. Y/N was sitting in the kitchen, clutching a mug in her hands like it was her lifeline.
"Sweets for the sweets!" Agnes cooed, placing the tray on the table. "Penny, for your thoughts?" She asked Billy, who was gently patting her rabbit.
"I like it here," Billy told the woman.
"Oh, good. Is it because Senor Scratchy is such a good listener?" Agnes wondered.
"No. It's because it's quiet." Billy said before looking up at the woman. "You're quiet, Agnes. On the inside." He told her.
"And your colors are brighter." Luna piped up. "Brighter than the rest of the towns." She added in a low murmur.
"Do you think our Mama is okay?" Tommy asked their neighbor.
"Oh, for sure!" Agnes assured him. "You don't have to worry about your mom. She can do anything. She's a supermom!" She promised with a chuckle.
"Ralph says I sugarcoat things, but you try telling a ten-year-old that their mother is cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs." Agnes shook her head with a sigh.
"Now, why don't you three go play in the basement while I talk with your Mom?" Agnes suggested.
The three kids gave her a nod before picking up Senor Scratchy and walking down the basement steps.
"How are you feeling now, hon?" Agnes asked as she re-entered the kitchen.
"Guilty, tired, like a crappy wife and mother." Y/N sighed, taking a long sip of her drink.
"Oh, that's not true, hon. You're a great wife. And a fantastic mother." Agnes promised, standing across from Y/N at the island.
"I left my wife during her breakdown, I don't know where Vision is, and I'm pretty sure our kids are borderline traumatized from watching Wanda this morning." Y/N shook her head.
"Oh, honey, I have seen trauma. Your kids are just fine." Agnes promised. "And you made the best decision you could in the moment. The kids didn't need to see their mother like that."
"I know. But I'm just so tired," Y/N told her. "I'm so, so, tired." She yawned as her eyelids began to grow heavier and heavier by the second.
"We're all set, Captain." Major Goodner said as Monica was safely secured into her suit.
"Thank you." She nodded before turning back to the glowing red force field.
"Darcy's not here to give her stamp of approval," Jimmy said as he walked over to the woman.
"I know. Darcy's in there, and I'm gonna go get her out." Monica said, causing Jimmy to smile. "This is our last shot, Jimmy." She added before her helmet was secured.
"Godspeed, Captain." Jimmy nodded at her.
Monica returned the nod before taking a breath to steel herself and then walking over to the vehicle.
"How much faith do you have in this thing?" Jimmy asked Goodner.
"It's our most heavily-armored space rover. She's gonna sail right through. Unharmed." Goodner assured the man before pulling on her headset. "Capcom, check," Goodner asked after watching Monica strap herself in.
"Good, check," Monica said, clicking the vehicle on.
"On your order, Captain," Goodner told Monica.
"Moving out."
"Contact in five, four, three, two, one." Goodner counted down as the vehicle raced towards the Hex.
But instead of Monica cruising through the Hex on one, the vehicle simply crashed into the barrier.
"What happened to sailing right through?" Jimmy demanded.
"The density is matching her," Goodner said, brows furrowing in confusion.
"I'm close. It's gonna give!" Monica exclaimed as she tried to push through the boundary.
"The structural integrity is failing. It's disintegrating." Goodner said, reading from the screen.
"No, it's being rewritten." Jimmy realized before picking up a walkie-talkie. "Monica, get out of there! Do you copy, Monica? Get out of there!" Jimmy demanded as Monica struggled to pull herself out of the changing car.
Before the entire vehicle could change completely, Monica managed to burst her way out of the top.
Tumbling to the ground below with a heavy thud.
"Get a medevac, now!" Jimmy yelled as he, and several of the soldiers, began to run towards Monica.
As Monica rose to her feet, she had to watch in shock as the vehicle was spat out of the Hex and launched through the air.
"Watch out!" Jimmy yelled, causing the agents to halt in their tracks and narrowly avoid being hit by the car.
Monica stared at the wreck of what she thought to be her only way back into Westview in disappointment. She continued to stare at it before an idea came to her mind.
"No, no," Jimmy murmured, watching Monica turn to the Hex with new purpose.
"I can get through!" She promised, pulling her helmet off and throwing it to the ground.
"Monica! No!" Jimmy yelled as Monica sprinted towards the Hex until her hands met the barrier.
Monica couldn't remember the first time she crossed through the barrier.
And there was a part of her that was grateful for that small mercy, but she wished she was better prepared for the pain she felt now.
As Monica forced her way through the barrier, memories of her past, moments she'd rather repress, began to resurface
It almost felt like she was breaking as Monica pushed her way further through the barrier.
Monica was being torn apart, and it took everything in her to continue pushing and keep Geraldine at bay.
But finally, finally, Monica was able to dive onto the other side, into Westview.
But when Monica made it into Westview, something was different. Something had changed in her.
Monica could see the energy all around her.
But Monica didn't have time to dwell on what was happening to her.
She needed to get to Wanda.
"So, Wanda killed me?" Vision asked slowly.
"Yes. But not because she wanted to. You asked her to do it." Clint clarified.
"Why would I have done that?" Vision wondered.
"To save half the universe," Clint told him, a frown appearing on his face at the memory.
"Did it work?"
"For a second, but Thanos, the bad guy, rewound time and killed you himself," Clint said.
"So in summation, I died, came back and died again." Vision nodded.
"Yeah, pretty much." Darcy piped up from the back of the truck.
"And both Wanda and Y/N had to watch. Both times." Clint added, slowing the car down to a stop.
"Oh man, another red light? We're in the sticks. This is overkill." Darcy groaned.
"I believe, I think that Wanda is creating these impediments to stop me returning home." Vision said, sitting in a chair outside the truck.
"Also, it never rains in Westview, right?" Darcy wondered, staring at the droplets on the windshield.
"Not unless Y/N is making it happen," Clint said as the light flicked green.
The car's occupants let out a happy sigh, and the truck began to move once more before coming to a sudden halt.
Men in trucks had pulled up directly in front of their van and started working on the street lights, causing everyone to sigh heavily.
"I'm not amused." Vision shook his head.
"Great, just take your time, fellas." Darcy groaned, leaning back into her chair.
"So if I am to understand correctly, my original code dates back to an AI called JARVIS? But my corporeal form was born of Ultron's plan for global genocide?" Vision asked, seeking clarification.
"Yeah, it was a hell of a time." Clint shook his head.
"Then, what am I now?" Vision asked.
"You're Vision." Clint shrugged, causing Darcy to sigh.
"Look, I'm more of a STEM type of lady, so I thought Wanda just flipped a switch on your head and brought you back to life." She told him.
"But that doesn't explain why you can't leave the Hex." Clint cut in.
"But what I do know is that I've been watching the show for the past week, and the love you three have is real," Darcy told Vision with a genuine smile.
"It's always been real," Clint added. "I've always known it. I wasn't always there to see it, but I saw enough to know that you have always loved one another. That the three of you belong with together." He told his son-in-law.
Wanda had finally forced herself to get dressed and felt a lot better than she had earlier when she heard a call that ruined her day.
"Wanda? Wanda!" Monica yelled, forcing her way into Wanda's home.
"What are you doing?" Wanda gasped, staring at the woman in shock.
"Wanda,"
"How did you get in here?" Wanda asked, now looking the woman over in anger.
"Listen to me. This whole thing is about Vision." Monica started.
"Get out of my house," Wanda demanded, glaring at Monica with a fire in her eyes.
"Hayward was trying to bring him,"
"Don't talk to me about that! Don't talk about my family! I don't wanna hear about it!" Wanda snapped, using her magic to push Monica out of her house. "The drones, the missiles, Pietro?" Wanda demanded, holding Monica in the air for all the neighborhood to see.
"No, wait, Pietro, that wasn't us." Monica stammered.
"All you do is lie!" Wanda exclaimed before throwing Monica to the ground.
But Monica did not crumple to the ground. Monica stopped her descent and stared up at Wanda with electric blue eyes.
"The only lies I've told are the ones you put in my mouth," Monica said, taking small steps closer to the witch.
"Careful what you say to me," Wanda warned, creating a ball of red energy by her side.
"Do it then. Take me out." Monica shrugged. "See, see? This is where you and Hayward differ. He's gonna burn Westview to the ground just to get what he wants. Don't let him make you the villain." Monica pleaded with her once friend.
"Maybe I already am." Wanda swallowed harshly.
"I'm not afraid of you, Wanda. I lost the person closest to me, too. I get being scared. I know that feeling. The worst thing I can think of has already happened to me, and I can't change it. I can't undo it. I can't control this pain anymore! And I don't think I want to because it's my truth." Monica admitted. "Wanda, you have to,"
"Young lady, I think you have overstayed your welcome," Agnes announced, appearing beside Wanda out of nowhere. "Poor Wanda has been through enough," Agnes said, putting an arm around Wanda.
"This doesn't concern you," Monica told Agnes. "Wanda,"
"Run along, dear." Agnes dismissed Monica, already pulling Wanda away from her.
"Wanda, you have to take it down," Monica begged as the two started to walk away.
"No." Wanda snapped, turning around fiercely. "Don't make me hurt you."
"All right."
"Okay, let's wrap it up."
"Fucking finally." Clint sighed as the road before them began to clear of workers.
Just as Clint began to drive again, he was forced to stop by a woman walking into the middle of the road with a sign.
"Oh, come on!" Clint snapped.
"Come on, kids," Darcy whined, watching as a large group of children began to cross the road.
"Kids?"
"What's next, puppies?"
"I had no idea how much Wanda had endured before coming to Westview. The same for Y/N. I've had no idea how much the three of us have been through. Though I can't remember it." Vision mused. "For me, it feels like it happened to someone else, you know? But for Wanda and for Y/N, it was mere weeks ago." He shook his head. "What am I doing here, sitting, talking to you when I should be with them. This is absurd. I need to get to my wives. I need to go home."
"You always stop for dogs, Lewis, and that's final," Clint said before Vision phased out of the top of the van.
Flying away from them.
"So we'll just meet you there, then?" Clint yelled.
"Was he always like this?" Darcy wondered.
"Oh, here. Would you care for a cup of tea, dear?" Agnes asked, leading Wanda into her home.
"Sure. Thank you, Agnes."
"Okay, sit down. Be right back with that." Agnes promised, sitting Wanda down on the couch.
Wanda let out a sigh as she was left alone in Agnes' living room.
As Wanda looked around her friend's home, she noticed things.
Three plates with sandwiches on them, three glasses of chocolate milk, a coffee cup, and a locket Wanda knew belonged to Y/N.
"Agnes?"
"Hm?"
"Are Y/N and the kids here?" Wanda asked, picking the locket up and holding it between her fingers.
"Oh, yes. I found them at the park and invited them here." Agnes responded.
"Where are they then? Where are the kids and Y/N?"
"Oh, I think they went down to the basement," Agnes told her.
Without a word, Wanda rose from the couch and walked towards the basement door.
"Boys? Luna? Y/N?" Wanda called, walking down the stairs and further into the basement.
Much to Wanda's surprise, when she rounded the corner, she saw a doorway covered in thick vines.
Wanda called her family's names into the doorway, and when no one responded, she continued to walk forward.
At the end of the hallway, she found a small room. It, too, was decorated with vines, along with strange symbols and other items of intrigue.
One that particularly caught her eye was a glowing book.
Wanda would have moved closer to the book but was distracted by the sound of footsteps.
"Wanda, Wanda. You didn't think you were the only magical girl in town, did you?" Agnes wondered, now standing across from her with Senor Scratchy in her arms.
As Wanda stared at Agnes in confusion, Agnes raised a hand and caused the door to slam shut in a purple glow.
"The name's Agatha Harkness. Lovely to finally meet you, dear." Agnes, Agatha, grinned before her eyes flashed a vibrant purple.
And with that, Agnes entered Wanda's mind and showed her who she really was.

all the angels [cast & angels & chuck]
prompts: ''run away with me''
summary: [bare with me, this is a long summary and concept] throughout the decades, y/n and the angels lived in harmony, her being the only being with powers on par with chuck. an immortal life with your angels sounds good, doesn't it? something goes wrong and y/n gets projected into the world of the spn actors. she had never met god, despite being made for the angels because of him. the thing is, she doesn't remember anything of her life with the angels and this messes with reality. the world of reality, along with y/n, are all magically convinced she has always been in their universe as a fellow cast mate. what happens when most of her favourite angels and a certain hellish man team up to collect her in the middle of a con?
characters: Rob Benedict, Richard Speight Jr, Mark Pellegrino, Misha Collins, Mark Sheppard, Sebastian Roche, Chuck Shurley, Gabriel, Castiel, Lucifer, Balthazar, Crowley
warnings: I dreamt something along the lines of this and it's just pure crack, I apologise, fluff, angst, everyone is single because it gets weird. I wrote this at 4am :/
---
''So let's talk about Y/n's character! She hasn't been explained too much but we know her backstory.'' Wow, thank you, Mark Sheppard.
''Well, I'm pretty sure the fans already know.'' I shrug, but a glare from the man before me makes me roll my eyes.
''Come on, don't leave them in the dust, also sharing a name with your character is weird right?'' He teases me, I resist the urge to walk over and playfully slap him.
''Fine. She was created by God to please the angels in whatever way they needed, with her consent obviously. She creates a connection with Gabriel and their connection become the focus of her life, until she meets Crowley-'' I look over at Sheppard and paint a fake scowl on my face, sending the audience into light laughter. ''-who is also vying for her attention, but as you all know, she had been killed off at the end of the last season. Y'all didn't see that blinding golden light and her disappearing act?'' I raise my eyebrow at the crowd. They murmur amongst themselves.
''Are you sure she was killed off?'' Richard snickers from next to me. ''What if her dear Gabe just snapped her away for some-'' He wags his eyebrows to out fans. ''-angel on paragon action.''
''It's literally in the script shut up- or you know, believe this idiot.'' I smile, showing I meant no offense
''Scripts change! You know that!'' Misha reasons, aggressively.
''I suppose so.'' Leaving audiences in an unsolved mystery is the fun of cons.
---
Sitting in the green room, it's sweaty and warm after the panel. We are instantly greeted by our colleagues awaiting their next instructions such as Mark Pellegrino, Sebastian Roche and Rob Benedict.
''Welcome back, you little bastards.'' Sebastian's voice rings throughout the room, I groan, faceplanting onto the couch where Rob sat, fiddling with an acoustic guitar.
We sat, talked, ate, I napped, yknow the usual.
---
''So, do you think they will bring you back for the next season?'' Misha asks, I bite my lip and answer him.
''I have no idea, no one has said anything so maybe not. I'll be joining our widdle Kings of Con if not.'' I give a baby voice when talking about the couple that is R2.
''Hey!'' Rob's voice wavers in his distinct little way.
''Rude of you to call me little.'' Richard winks and I shoot gag at him, he feigns a frown.
''In other news-'' Mark Pellegrino's cut-in is interrupted by a blinding golden light, surrounding the room. I grip onto Rob's arm as the ground begins to shake, burring my head into his chest, I cover my eyes from the light. He holds me back just as tight, hiding in the comfort of my shoulder. One of many weird, intimate moments with him that makes people believe we are together.
A loud, pitched, sound rattles around us. A few of us scream in pain but I just whimper and move closer into Rob.
Suddenly, everything stops and stills.
I can't force myself to move.
''What the fuck?!'' I hear Misha, making me not want to move even more.
''Ha! Look, she's cuddling you. Awe.'' I hear Richard's voice, but it wasn't him, it didn't sound like him. I pull myself away from Rob's chest and look at the scene unfolding.
'What the fuck?'' I whisper, repeating Collins' earlier comment. Stood here, a few feet in front of us are Gabriel, Balthazar, Castiel, Crowley, Lucifer and Chuck. Did I miss something?
''Not happy to see us, darlin'?'' Gabriel smirks, a foot of his approaches me, I look at them in confusion and shock.
''W-What's going on?'' That is the first time I have ever heard Pellegrino stutter.
''We should probably talk...'' Chuck wavers his hands to us all, motioning us to listen to him.
''So, uh, Y/n here? She's our Y/n, from our reality and we kinda want her back.'' Gabriel shuffles his weight between each of his feet, I'm in too much terror to even speak, so is everyone else.
''You hear him, dickbags? We want her back.'' Lucifer crosses his arms, staring dead into Pellegrino's soul, presumably to make him uncomfortable.
''I don't understand-'' I stop myself, leaving it at that.
''Wait, do you not remember?'' Gabriel looks at me, broken eyes reflect his inside pain.
''Of course she doesn't, you bollock! Can't you see the look on her face?'' Crowley rolls his eyes but for some reason I can sense his true sadness.
''I will explain, better.'' Castiel takes a step towards me. ''You are Y/n Divine, our Divine, your the celestial from our existence. Your our...?'' He struggles to find the words, Balthazar answers for him. Not the lot of explaining I need there, Cas.
''Our collective soulmate, so to speak.'' He nods.
''Yeah, that's who I am in Supernatural but- this isn't the show, this is reality. I gotta be dreaming, oh my God-'' Chuck interferes (doesn't he always).
''That's me.'' The nervous laugh from the bearded almighty almost makes me laugh, almost, but the situation was too real for it. ''Would it help if I...showed you?'' He says, unsure of his choice of words.
For some reason, I pour my trust into him, and walk towards the clone of my almost boyfriend, I wished.
''Mind if I show all of you?'' Chuck asks, before ignoring some of the 'no's in the room and he snaps, bringing us into a dream state.
Scenes flow through our brains, ones that weren't in the show
---
Dressed in a white kaftan with golden afflictions, there was Y/n, lay in the greenest of grass. And next to her? Gabriel the Archangel. Almost in a Bella-Edward meadow position, the two looked into each other, reading one another's soul.
''Run away with me.'' Gabriel whispers, lighter than air.
''What?'' She snaps out of her dreamy daze.
''Let's leave, you don't need any other angel that isn't me.'' This breaks her heart, although Gabriel was her favourite and the one she had a special connection with, she had a duty to remain near the other angels.
''I want to-'' Gabe's heart lifts but sank soon after. ''-but you know I can't. I wasn't created to defy my purpose, I would cease to exist if I did.'' A tear rolls down her cheek, the light from the fading sun rested gracefully on her skin.
''I know. Oh, what was I thinking? My father will come after us and- I would rather now think about what he would do to us, to you.'' He looks away from her to relish in his pain.
''Don't be like that, my little Aurelian enchanter-'' She mentions the colour of his golden wings, which lay across the ground behind him, a beautiful sight. ''-the time will come where no angel needs me, then I can devote myself to you, only you.'' She mumbles, pressing a sure kiss to the peak of his nose. He huffs in a peaceful array of emotion.
''At least you don't kiss any other of my brothers or estranged family.'' He nudges back at her, nose to nose.
---
''That was sickening to watch.'' Pellegrino chuckles into the dark abyss of our voices, unable to see each other but still recognising each other within the blindness.
''Shall I show you another one?'' A rhetorical question from the Lord from above, as he whisks us into another memory.
---
She sat on a bench, clad in elegancy, the world was still new and beaming. New angels were being created, not all of them needed a divine celestial to aid them, so she spent her days watching the creations live. The bees harvesting pollen from the flowers was one of her favourite sights.
She felt an angelic presence appear next to her, but a new one, an unknown one.
''Who might you be?'' She asks, not tearing her eyes away from the fuzz of a creature.
''I am Castiel.'' Short and stat, seems like the kind of being he was, without a vessel he could be read more easily.
''No vessel yet, I assume?'' She looks towards the beam of light beside her.
''No, not yet. I hardly think there's a need for such a thing.'' His voice was the most beautiful she had heard, of all the angels, no vessel and no front made him so much more enticing.
''Well, nice to meet you. You're wings...they're black? Pretty though, new as well.'' She smiled at Castiel, his aura positively increased, the interaction helping them both. Just a simple amount of time in company can help an angel.
''Thank you.''
---
''So that's Castiel?'' Misha seems uneasy.
''Would you like to see the encounter between her and his vessel?''
---
She sat, with Balthazar, just grooming his beautiful wings. An act she did for her most favourite angels.
''Have you seen Castiel's vessel?'' He smiles up at her, in his own vessel.
''Not yet but I am excited though, from the comments I'm hearing, he is a most handsome fellow.'' She brushes past a certain spot, making Bal shiver in delight, not in a sexual manner.
''Ugh, like you don't find yourself infatuated with my golden winged brother already, don't go falling for another one.'' He groans in disgust, she laughs, melodically.
''I can promise you, I won't.'' That was a future lie.
''Hello, Y/n.'' A new voice from behind her, sensing the energy, she knew it was Cas.
A wide grin stretches across her features, ''Castiel!'' She shouts, whipping round to face the angel in his new restrictions. ''My, my, good choice, my angel.'' A nickname specifically reserved for the defying being.
''I would say 'thank you', but it would be a most similar and repetitive interaction.'' She sighs in relaxation, reliving her first encounter with Castiel.
''You are always welcome, you're one of my favourites.'' She boops his nose, squeaking 'boop' at the same time, Cas cocks his head in confusion.
''Boop?'' He questions her, she shrugs her shoulders.
''You're cute, so I booped you.'' She giggles, Castiel couldn't refuse the stutter in his 'emotions' as she spoke.
''Okay.''
---
I heard Mark Sheppard's voice throughout the void, ''YoU'rE cUtE, sO i BoOpEd YoU!'' His badgering voice pointing fun at me.
''Shut up.'' I mumble.
---
It was beautiful, the winding waterfall gushing down the rocks, watching it flow. She sat, in deep thought, things between Lucifer and Michael were getting tense, she was scared for the future.
''You don't need to worry about us, my little cherub.'' Lucifer's voice mixed eloquently with the sound of the waves slowly connecting the lake below.
''It's part of my job, I couldn't help it if I tried.'' She shrugged, she stared at the water, taking in the fresh air.
''I know that things aren't simple, they never will be, just know you will always have me. I have never spoken to anyone in such a tone before, you should be honoured, little one.'' This made her accumulate, she leaned back into hold, he was a median temperature. It was nice.
''My Lucifer.'' She grinned in thought. ''You always have been the most intriguing, I will never give up on you, I promise you that.'' She craned her neck to look at the blonde, before pressing the smallest of kisses to his jaw. She had never seen him so vulnerable, so honest with himself, and she wouldn't again for some time.
---
''My dear, this is too dangerous. You are not a warrior, you are a healer and an abettor. I can't let you, I'm sorry.'' Crowley's gruff rumble soaked the thin air, she wanted to fight for her angels- with her angels. She held the power, but not the will.
''I was made for this moment, this is my purpose, I have to do something.'' She pleads, tears stinging her eyes.
''Listen to me, darling, they need you alive more than you're help. Listen to what I'm saying, although I am nonpartisan, I can't remain unbiased. I fear that my little, fascination with you is what keeps you safe. The angels may not love it, but it keeps you safe whilst they handle their own. They want you safe, so that is what I will do.'' His short monologue seemed to flip something within Y/n, she stayed silent for a moment, reeling in thought. Hearing his repetition of the word safe just made her wish the same for her angels.
''I-I guess you're right. I don't want anything to happen to them, you remember last time, when it all-'' She couldn't bring herself to continue, relishing in the agony of remembering when Lucifer was cast.
''Yes, my dear, and you nearly got caught in the crossfire. It can't happen again, there is no other being like you and there never will be. The stories are that God nearly killed himself trying to create you, you are everything he wanted humanity to be.'' She smiled at this, he was trying to cheer her up with a bit of complimenting. ''Even if you are stubborn.'' She slapped his chest, as a farce and let out a small cachinnate.
---
Everyone was silent, things started to get heavy on thought and reason. No one could think of a word to say.
''One more for good measure, then we will asses you, Y/n.'' Uh, what does that mean?
---
The quiet air that surrounded the two was comforting and safe, content and peaceful. Y/n and Gabriel sat opposite one another, his wings lay in her lap as she did what she does best. Her hands traced up the outer lining of his wings, from top to bottom, before moving in the the inner feathers. She rolled a collection of feathers between her fingers each time she moving a few inches down, softly and gently. Working out the stress and the tightness that wound itself within them, he holds onto her knee, using it as a gripping post every once in a while. It wasn't a pain thing though, it was quite the opposite, the gratification and the bliss he was receiving from such a special moment was intense.
''I don't know why, I think your wings are my favourite.'' She hums out, brushing out the feathers she had been fixing in a swoop from the height of his wing and downwards, before moving on to the next section.
''Oh, really?'' Gabriel couldn't resist the playful tone residing in his comment, but that was what Y/n loved, he wasn't afraid to tease her.
''Without a doubt, they're mesmerising. Such a beautiful colour, and shape. They suit you so well.'' Slowly, she leans forward to kiss the corner of his mouth, before gently pulling herself back.
''Come on, sweetheart! You can do better than that-'' His voice is cut off by a staggering gasp as she unwinds a knot in his feather,  gripping her knee tight, he swoons.
She doesn't say a word, yet she picks up her head again, craning towards the angel's face. While continuing to brush out his ailerons of flight, she kisses him again, direct and strong. She moves against his lips with such care but much passion, Gabriel couldn't resist the slip of his tongue to her, she wasn't in any way complaining.
---
''Okay, that was upsetting to watch.'' Richard grumbles, we find ourselves back inside the green room, standing in front of us remain Chuck and Gabriel.
''You're telling me.'' I let a slanted expression reach my face.
''You mean you still don't remember?'' Gabriel's frown tugs at my heart, I feel something for him, but not as immense as what we have been watching.
''I have something that might work, but it might...do something?'' Chuck gives out a nervous chuckle, small and barely there.
''Do it, I need her back, I don't care about the consequences unless it hurts her.'' The strain and torment in his intonation is dismal.
''It won't hurt her, but it might- never mind, if it happens then it happens, if it doesn't then you will be happy you didn't know.'' Chuck walks towards me with purpose and I cower back slightly, a stern alarm on my face.
''W-Woah there, what are you doing?'' I reach out my hands in a 'stop' motion, he grabs hold of them.
''Bringing back your memory, I need you to focus on the moments you just watched, think about how you felt during them.'' I thought back, I felt as if I was the girl in the grass, and in heaven and the girl who loved the angels. I revelled in the select memories, the beautiful memories. ''Good, carry on thinking about them and how you felt.''
I felt a warmth surge through my hands, as they remained connected to Chuck's.
''It's working.'' I peek open my eyes and look down at our hands. Mine are white and hold a holy glow, my eyes widen as I look at the magic.
''This is you?'' I ask, Chuck shakes his head.
''It's you, well, it's us. You have your own powers, but this kind can only be used when I am touching you. You know you have angelic advantages, from the show?'' He explains in a way I understand, I nod. ''D-Do you want to remember this world? Along with your true one?'' I bit my lip before answering.
''I would, some people I can't let go.'' I look towards Rob, who stood off towards the side, the group of my colleagues still in shock of the situation, some whispering to each other.
''I see. Are you ready?'' The heat is getting more intense in my hands, a burning hot white light shines from then.
''I think so.''
''I need to warn you, you may not like what could happen next.'' He unclasps our hands before reaching up to sandwich my head between them. It wasn't painful, it was peculiar, my body went numb. This took around a minute before he took his hands of me.
My mind and his instantly travelled to a secluded world. It was barren and empty, but beautiful, Red sand and burnt skies surrounded me, small oasis' patched around. The sun was in a constant set, never going up nor down.
''Where are we?'' I asked Chuck, he was dressed in a white pant and shirt, I looked down towards myself. I was enclosed by a gorgeous lengthy white garment, a golden sash across my waist.
''We're in your head. How are you feeling?'' I smile.
''Like myself, thanks Chuck, nice to meet you by the way- can't believe I haven't said that yet, after all Gabe has told me.''
''Um, okay, this is going to be awkward to ask. What do you feel? When you look at me, that is.''
''Hm...'' I look into his soft eyes. I felt as if I belonged there, like it was home. My whole existence within his soul.
''That's- not good.'' He must have read me, because I didn't say that out loud. I widen my eyes, starting to panic. ''I-I mean, it could be? It depends how you feel on the matter.'' He tries to soothe me.
''Explain.'' Was all I said.
''We- well. I've linked us, not on purpose. You're life's fulfilment is with me now, along with the angels. I'm not your creator anymore, I'm your equal. Yet you are not light nor dark, your the meld of both, a mediator if you will. The love for the angels, can be found within myself now. I'm sorry, I never thought it would actually happen.'' I'm guessing this is the first time he has ever apologised, I don't know how but- I feel like I know everything about him. The almost humanitarian way he dabbles jn his powers is confronting.
''Yes, that's another edge you have, you know everything about me now, you know who I am and what I've done.'' He looks ashamed and off to the side.
''You may not be proud of who you are, but I am-'' I hold his hand and turn his head with my other. ''You're the creator, just because you have done bad things, does not mean you're a bad person.'' I feel like I've known him my whole life, I technically have. He remains silent.
''We will have our time, go seem them. If you ever need to see me and I'm not around, think of this place and I'll meet you here, no matter how far apart we are.'' He extracts us from the sanctuary.
I'm back in my own body, looking around at the awkward faces of my peers. We must have been stood, staring into space for some time.
''Hey-''I turn to Gabe as he speaks, walking towards him before I stop dead in my tracks. I swiftly run back to Chuck, slamming my lips against his, I feel my heart stutter in the shock of my own actions. He kisses me back with much more passion, before I pull away. I look at Rob, his mouth his hung open, using my power I look into his head.
He's shocked and- jealous. He thinks it's invigorating to see a version of himself kiss you. Realising he could've admitted his feelings to you, perhaps you wouldn't have gone back to them.
''Well- okay, that's new.'' Gabriel mutters, his voice cracks in the middle of his speech.
I turn and run towards Gabe.
''Don't worry, you're still my favourite.'' He yanks me into a hug, pulling me into a compact hug, I wrap my legs around his waist.
He whispers some enochian into my ear, I bite my lip and smile. Along the lines of 'should I book the hotel now or later?'.
''You know full well we don't need to do that.'' I couldn't help but tease him back, he sighs in content, happy to have us back.
''I'm- confused, what the fuck is going on?'' Sebastian calls.
''If you want, you can make them forget, Y/n.'' Chuck announces, a valley of yelling and protests wash over me from the Supernatural cast.
''Can I? It could be for the best...'' I trail off, the cast look at me with hurt in their eyes, I decide to communicate with Rob through his head.
'Rob' He looks around, alarmed. 'I'm in your mind, don't panic'
'How could you? I know you aren't meant to be here but please don't make me forget you' I could hear the pain within him.
'I won't completely, you'll know me, but not as who I am. You will know me as your colleague and friend, I'll visit you'
'I love you, I'm sorry I never said it' I heard his heart shatter.
'I love you too, maybe we can develop something in the future' Maybe I was asking too much of myself, maybe not.
''You ready to go back?'' Chuck waltzes toward me and Gabriel. ''Other angels want to see you, I can hear them, it's rather annoying.'' I smile at the thought of seeing them all again, this time knowing who they are to me.
''I think so.'' I turn back to say my goodbyes.
''Misha, you are one of the most genuine and kind people this Earth can offer, I'm so happy I met you.'' I move forward to hug him, channelling my power, as soon as I leave this plane it will activate- leaving them in the state they were before.
''Mr. Sheppard, you smarmy bastard, never change. The world couldn't take it. I'll see you soon.'' I step forward to hug him.
''My, my, Pellegrino, a tear? Not going soft on me, are you?'' He shakes his head, rolling his eyes at me. ''I'll miss you and your karaoke.'' I hug him, he holds on a little longer, refusing to let me go. I look at him with sad eyes, before turning to Sebastian.
''You and your attitude Roche, you're such a light person, you'll see me again and I promise you that. Keep up the humour, you're not yourself without it.'' I hug him, ejecting a powerful wave.
''Richard, I will admit you are my best friend, even when you're trying to sleep with everything that walks. Take care of Robbie for me, I won't be too long before my next visit, so hold on.'' I grip him in my arms, pulling gently on his beard as we part, before getting mockingly swatted away.
I couldn't sat goodbye to Rob, looking at his disheartened face. ''R-Robbie-'' I tried not to cry, saying goodbye to so many friends is breaking me.
''I can't explain how much you mean to me, I love you, in every way you can imagine. I love you all.'' I hug Rob, not wanting to let go.
''Please don't go.'' His whimper makes me finally let out tears.
''I need to. I promise I'll return.'' I think about my next action, before deciding on it.
'Pull away if you don't want this.' I say to him, his head is swimming with agony.
Kissing him, very lightly, I feel tears mix on my lips. I pull away before I get too attached.
''Gonna miss you, so much.'' He whispers to me, clutching my shirt in his hands.
''I have to go, bye Benedict, till we meet again.'' I try to spin a comedic affect into my words, stepping away from my best friends.
Chuck holds out his hands, Gabriel and I connect to them. I shut my eyes, I can't face what I'm leaving behind. I feel a golden illumination against my shut eyelids.
It's not forever, but I will miss them.

You're An Idiot

~DO NOT REPOST ANYWHERE~
-
Being Hermione's older brother meant you usually had to deal with a lot of shit, especially since she'd drag you on adventures with the Golden Trio. She'd always use the promise you made to your parents in your face. Yeah. You had sworn you'd protect the younger Granger when she first started going to the school. At the time, you didn't know that'd mean every single bloody year.
Since you were a year older then the Golden Trio, you ended up resolving problems and fixing some of their mistakes and reminding them to sleep during particularly stressful days. You could've swore the four of you just attracted problems better than magnets attract metal. Of course, you wanted them to be safe and healthy, but one little bleached ferret always made it hard. That ferret, of course, was Malfoy. Draco Malfoy.
Stupid Draco Malfoy who always managed to look top notch in anything he wore and Godric what you'd do to get that ferret on his knees, ruin his pretty hair and- You probably shouldn't be thinking this in the dinner hall, especially since you were sitting next to your sister. Speaking of your sister, she turned to you, a smile on her face.
"So, (Y/n). I was curious if you wanted to come with us to Hogsmead this weekend? Harry got Sirius to sign for him and Professor Magonagall accepted it under the circumstances." Hermione's voice rang through your skull as she spoke, your head already nodding up and down. It'd be a nice little break, especially during your 7th year.
"Of course I'm down, Mione!" you wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer to her side. "You know I'll use any excuse to be with my favorite bunch of idiots." you messed up her hair, causing her to smack your hands away and almost shove you off the bench.
You let out a laugh, completely oblivious to the Slytherin staring at you from across the room with the most desperate expression on his face. You shoved your sister back, a smirk growing on your face as she fell from the bench.
"Haha! Payback!"
"Not funny, (Y/n)!"
"Yes it is, Mione! You should know by now I'm always gonna get revenge!" you ran a hand through your hair, shooting her a smile. The two boys who sat across from you nodded in agreement.
"He's right, Herman. (haha, reference-) It is pretty funny." Ron smiled, holding his fist out for you to bop.
The week seemed to pass with ease, allowing the weekend and it's snowy fun to arrive without hesitation. You trudged out in the snow, leading the trio of 6 years to Hogsmead. You hummed a muggle Christmas song deep in your throat as you walked, looking up at the snow covered signs.
"Where should we go first, children? Hogs Head? Honeydukes? What ya kids feeling?" One thing you absolutely ADORED was teasing about the age difference between you and the trio.
"We're not children!" Ron shouted, his arms crossing over his bulky winter jacket.
"Yeah! Besides, even if we weren't totally responsible adults, we'd wanna go to the Hogs Head, right guys? Get a butter bear or two?" Harry spoke up, moving his scarf down to speak properly before putting it back over his mouth and nose.
"Uh Huh. Sure." You snickered, your hands shoved in your pocket of your pants. You'd given Hermione your jumper, leaving you in a scarf, fingerless gloves and your long sleeve t-shirt.
The four of you got interrupted by a line of people literally blocking your path. It was none other than the stupidly pretty Draco and his 'gang' stood in front of you, arms crossed like a bunch of wanna be badasses.
"Well, well, if it isn't Potter and his 3 little blood traitors." Draco spoke, his voice filled with smugness and his face dragged in a cocky smirk.
God, did you wanna get revenge against that stupid smirk.
"Oh, please Malfoy. You do this almost every week. Just admit you have a crush on Harry and move on." You spoke, taking a step toward him. The ferret's smirk faltered and turned into a scowl.
"Oh please. As if I'd stoop low enough to like someone like Potter." Draco all but gagged at the idea of dating the messy haired rival and you wondered what he'd look like gagging on your stick. It suddenly became a little warmer in the winter atmosphere.
"Then you have an unhealthy obsession, mate." Ron spoke up, his arms crossed. "Might wanna get that fixed and leave us be."
"Yeah, Malfoy. We're trying to have a good day and you're ruining it with your ugly mug." Hermione spoke up, causing you to feel nothing but pure pride. She'd changed a lot from the shy girl she used to be in 1st year.
Crabb or Goyle, you didn't care to learn their names, stepped forward, causing you to instinctively step in front of your friends. Malfoy scoffed again, looking you up and down before turning his head.
"Whatever." the blonde pureblood spoke as he began walking away, his posse turning to follow, but not without shooting you one last glare.
"Yeah, you... You better leave?" You spoke, confusion clear in your voice. Usually you'd be inches from his face, shouting about the shit antics his father pulled before he backed down. Turning to the other three, you shrugged and led them to Hogsmead, hoping to escape the cold.
Once inside, you all ordered a warm glass of butterbeer as you picked a table by the fireplace. Taking your first sip immediately warmed you up, a sigh leaving your lips.
"Godric Gryffindor. I haven't felt warmth in what felt like forever." You said cooly, smirking to your sister. "I wonder why I would be oh, so cold."
"Ok. We get it. I forgot my jacket. Stop it." The brunette responded, causing Harry to almost choke on his drink and for Ron to snort. You faked a gasp, your hand going to your chest in mock shame. You'd been teasing her about it almost the entire way there.
"Such sass!" You shook your head. "What would mom and dad say?"
"They'd say you deserve to shove it."
"Oh, come now, sister of mine! Don't be a stick in the mud!"
The two friends sitting across from the Granger siblings sat in silence. This was some of the best entertainment they get during the week and they always savored it.
"I'm not being a stick in the mud, you're just being a dick."
"Well you know what they say. You are what you eat-"
Ron and Harry didn't even miss a beat. They broke out laughing together as Hermione shouted, her face a pinkish color.
"(Y/N)!!"
"What? We all know it's true!"
"Merlin's beard you suck."
"That's the point, sis."
"Go- stop. Please. I'm begging you."
"Ok! Ok." you chuckled out, raising your hands in defeat.
You and the trio managed to keep up the conversation easily, but as time went on, it was time to go back, well, that's what you told them. It was time for the kiddos to go back and finish their homework so they had tomorrow to actually relax. Of course, this caused Harry and Ron to groan and whine, but Hermione finally convinced them, saying she'd help.
You let out a sigh and leaned back in your chair, your eyes falling closed. The stupid blonde hottie has been raging in your head for what felt like forever, so you weren't surprised when he popped up behind your eyelids again.
You truly didn't want to admit it, but you'd liked the jerk since he popped up randomly in your second year. He was a twat to your sister and her friends, but somehow he slithered into your heart and head all the stupid time.
Over time like turned to crush, crush turned to yearned, yearned turned to lust, because it certainly wasn't love. That's what you convinced yourself as you tossed your head back, swallowing the last of your fourth butterbeer.
You sat in front of the fire for a few more minutes before you stood up, placed some coins at the end of your table to pay for the drinks and left the restaurant, venturing out into the snow.
It was colder before, thanks to the sun setting over the castle. Shrugging off the cold, you walked down the familiar path back to Hogwarts. You tightened the scarf around your face as a particularly cold breeze blew past you. Once the entrance of the castle came up, you all but jogged to the door, ripping it open. The inside was warmer, thank Merlin.
You were suddenly grateful for the 7 years you'd spent at Hogwarts. You were able to mindlessly walk the halls and make it to the staircase leading up to the Fat Lady's portrait. As you were trudging up the steps, you noticed a A flash of a shadow duck past a knight.
"Oh, ok. Cool. Filch’ll just kill me. Awesome." you grumbled, hurrying up the stairs as quietly as you could, but we're quickly halted. The shadow wasn't Filch or his crazed cat. It was Malfoy.
Of course it was Malfoy. We gotta get to the good stuff somehow, right?
...
Anyway, you sensed he was up to no good considering he should be in the Slytherin Common Room probably sleeping and not sneaking around by the Gryffindor one. You crossed your arms over your chest, watching the blonde keeping his head turned to watch his back as he climbed the same steps you were on.
"Malfoy."
"AAH-"
You all but lunged to cover his mouth with one hand, the other going to the back of his neck to keep him still. "Shut it, you git! Do you want to get caught?" your eyebrows furrowed together as you pressed him to the stairs railing, trying to intimidate the younger male.
What you didn't know was that this was waayy to hot for Malfoy to comprehend. His back went rigid at your touch and his breathing all but stopped as he stared into your (e/c) eyes.
"Well, do you?"
Your hushed voice snapped Draco out of his trance, causing him to shake his head.
"Good, then keep your voice down. What are you doing out here anyway?" you spoke, moving your hands away from him, much to his dismay. He was just grateful you didn't back away. He liked your body against his.
"I was uh-well, I was trying to.. Find the bathroom." He usually kept his composure, but he was failing miserably. He usually kept it together so well but now.. Now Draco was struggling. He was not going to admit he was on his way to sneak into the Gryffindor common room and leave you a love note. No. Why would he do that??
"The bathroom? It isn't up this set of stairs, ya idiot." you grabbed his arm, leading him down the stairs. "Besides, you should have a bathroom on your side of the school, so what are you really doing here?"
"What does it matter?" he spat out. "You obviously think you know everything." you rolled your eyes at his brattiness and walked over to the corridor glancing down it before pressing your back against the wall.
"What are you doing?"
"Shut it Malf-"
"No. I don't ha-"
"I said shut it or I will gag your mouth with your own fucking tie." you covered his mouth again, pressing him back against the wall. "Godric. Just put your ego away for 2 seconds."
Draco desperately wanted to say 'Make me, Granger' but he was lost in the idea of your threat coming true.
Satisfied at his silence, you watched one of the patrolling professors walk down the corridor and right past you two. Not spotting anyone or anything, they continued on before you swept him down the entrance.
"Ok. Come on." You whispered to him as you walked down the corridor. You were taking him to that one girls bathroom that no one goes into, ya know, with Myrtle. You were just hoping she was gonna be literally anywhere but that bathroom.
"Where are we going?"
"You said you wanted a bathroom, idiot. I'm taking you to one where you can piss in peace and leave me alone."
"I.. What?"
"Forget it, Malfoy." You took one more turn and finally saw the opening off the bathroom. "Ok. We're here." Of course Blondie had a problem though. He shot the (h/c) male a glare before scrunching up his nose.
"This is the girls lavatory."
"Oh, you think I care. Funny." you grabbed him by the shirt covering his shoulder and pushed him inside, following after his stumbling form.
"Don't touch me, Granger. I don't want whatever germs mud bloods carry." Draco scoffed, fixing his shirt and brushing off his shoulder, as if dirt was there.
"Call me that again and I won't hesitate to ruin that pretty face you cherish so much." You growled out, grabbing his shirt by the collar and pulling him toward you. "One day that silver tongue of ours is going to get you in a lot of trouble." Pushing him away from your figure, you turned toward one of the many mirrors lining the wall.
You looked at your reflection and fixed a strand of hair, then took off your scarf. It was warm in this bathroom. You folded the scarf and looked back into the reflective glass to see Malfoy smirking in the background.
"What?"
"You called me pretty." He had his arms crossed over his chest. Your aggravated tone did nothing to his smirk.
".. You're dumb as hell, ya know that?" you turned to face the male and his confidence seemed to shrink a little bit. You advanced toward him and he stepped backwards. He wanted to keep distance between you two in case a fight broke out. He'd seen you fight other people bigger than you and remembered how they were sent to the Hospital wing. "You're a twat. You're a self centered brat who thinks he rules this school."
He gulped when he felt his back press against the wall. "Yeah? And what are you going to do about it Granger?" Draco could feel the blood rush to his cheeks. You must've noticed his face turning Gryffindor red because next thing he knew, you were pressed up against him, pinning him to the wall. He felt his breath catch in his throat when your eyes glanced at his lips for a brief second.
"I might teach you a lesson." Your hands came at either side of his head, a dangerous smirk drawing across your lips. You leaned forward, your lips ghosting over his. "You have been such a brat lately. A punishment is in order, hmm?"
Draco's hands tried to grip the wall, his nails scraping against it. Fuck, the way your voice dropped sent blood from his cheeks to his dick almost immediately.
With that, you slammed your lips to his, causing a breathy whine to escape Draco's throat. You tilted your head, your tongue grazing across his lips as your hand slipped through his hair. The blonde wrapped his arms around your neck as he opened his mouth, his tongue meeting yours. With teeth clashing, your bodies pressed together and a hand in his hair, you easily gained dominance.
You pulled from the kiss, causing Malfoy to let out a protest.
"Shut it, brat." You grumbled, a hand covering his mouth as you planted a kiss to the side of his neck. "Besides, we're out past curfew. Would hate to get caught."
He could feel you smirk against his skin, your hand in his bleached locks tugging his head to the side so you had more room. He jumped a little when he felt you bite down on his neck. The younger man's eyes fell shut as you attacked his neck with love bites and hickeys.
Your hand covering his mouth moved to his cheek as you placed a kiss on a particularly big hickey.
"You ok?" your voice was soft and sweet against his ear. He nodded quickly, not wanting this to end, which only caused you to snicker. Draco blinked a few times in confusion when you placed your hands on his shoulders and began to push him down to his knees.
"I'd rather not kneel on the floor."
"Why not?"
"It's filthy!"
You stared at Draco for a few seconds before rolling your eyes and you shoved him down to his knees.
"I don't care if it's filthy. You have magic, don't you? Clean your knees when we're done. Simple." you smirked down at him, joy filling your heart. God, it genuinely felt good to see the cocky pureblood on his knees, his head turned in a silent protest.
One hand stayed on his shoulder, the other moved itself to the bulge between your legs. The groan that left your lips caught his attention. The hand against your bulge grounded down, causing you to groan.
"Oh, now I've got your attention?"
"Shove it, Granger."
"Now, now. That's no way to talk to me, I am older."
Draco rolled his eyes so hard you were sure they were gonna roll straight out of his head. But since this whole event was anything but straight, you figured it wouldn't happen that easily.
The man on his knees swatted your hand away and wasted zero time unbuttoning your jeans and pulling them down around your knees. He stared at the bulge in your galaxy themed boxers, the tips of his ears turning a bright pink. He noticed the damp spot right by the tip and realized it was from him.
Suddenly, his confidence came back, and the blonde quickly began mouthing at your erection. With a rough groan, you rested your hand on top of his head and used the other stabilizing you against the wall.
"Go on, then. Don't be shy." You chuckled, gently ruffling his hair. The 6th year reached up, quickly pulling down your boxers to reveal your hard length.
"I'm not shy." When he finally met your eyes, you noticed his blue ones burning with a lust that you'd only wished to see in your dreams.
"Uh huh, then why aren't you sucking my dick, hmm?" You smirked, pushing your hips forward.
"I might bite it with the attitude you hold." The blonde spoke as he leaned forward, licking from the base to the tip in one, long swipe. You let out a sigh, your head slowly tipping backwards as his tongue grazed over the tip of your wood.
"You love my attitude. I bet you always have."
Draco wanted to mock you or laugh at you or something, but he knew you were right so instead, he sucked on your tip like it was a popsickle. He hallowed his cheeks and kept eye contact with you as he slowly took you into his mouth.
You let out a gasp at how hot it was. Visually and physically, it was so damn hot. Your grip tightened on his hair when his tongue ran along the vein on the bottom.
"Fuck- Ah, Draco-" You tried not to move your hips. After all, you didn't know how much experience he had, but it felt like he was pretty well off.
Draco, however, was focused on the way you said his name. It dragged a moan out of him. This might've been the first time he heard you say his first name and your gravely voice made it so wonderful.
The blonde on his knees suddenly wanted to hear you say it again. He closed his eyes, pulling back to take a breath before he pushed forward. The pureblood focused on trying to take you down his throat. His eyebrows furrowed together when he gagged and chose to ignore his tears.
"Oh shit!" you hissed out, your jaw dropping when you felt his nose press against your pelvis. "Draco, how the hell-?" you bucked forward when you felt him try to swallow around you. "Ooh, Godric!" you tossed your head back, your hand against the wall curling into a fist.
Draco pulled back and slowly went down on you again, a breathy whine leaving your throat.
"You are far too good at this, baby."
All too soon he was pulling off you completely, which causes you to whine and look down at him. He was looking down at his hands that rested in his lap.
"What? Did I say something wrong?" You asked, your head tilting to the side a little bit.
"No!" his head shot up to look at you, his eyes wide. "I mean.. No... No, I've just never been called something so.. Soft."
This caused your eyebrows to furrow together. "Huh. Well, let's change that. Come on." You stepped out of the pants pooled at your feet and held a hand out to him, which he took.
You gently led him over to the sinks, turning him around to face his reflection. "I got you." you whispered in his ear, causing him to shudder.
He nodded his head, looking down at the sink in front of him. The pureblood rested his hands against the porcelain. The 6th year's heart was pounding in his ears, his bottom lip becoming trapped between his teeth.
The blonde felt your hands run from the back of his neck, to his shoulders and down his back before finally landing on his hips. The wizard felt a heat pooling in his belly when he felt your hips press against his ass.
You reached around to his front, undoing his belt and slowly pulling it free from the loops before tossing it off to the side. He finally looked up at the mirror, taking in the reflection of his messy hair, swollen lips and your hands coming back to his front.
"I got you, Draco." Your voice was soft. "Don't you worry your pretty little head about anything." You smiled at him over his shoulder and winked before popping the button of his trousers open and allowed gravity to pull them down.
Malfoy gasped when you cupped his bulge, his hips automatically pushing forward. He'd been hard since you pinned him against the railing.
"(Y/n).." he whispered out, his mouth falling open when your thumb ran across the head of his cock.
"Yes, babe?" Your smile has turned into a knowing smirk. Blue eyes bounced between your hand and that devious smirk, Draco's brain conflicted on which sight was better. "Do you need something?"
He nodded his head, blonde locks bouncing.
"Please." his voice was barely above a whisper.
"Please? Please what?" Your fingers slipped past the elastic of his boxers, a false sense of innocence laced in your voice.
"Move- touch me- damnit, Granger, please."
You finally pushed his boxers down, your hands running along the front of his thighs before finally landing on what he wanted you to focus on. The blonde let out a sigh of your name when your hand finally wrapped around his dick.
A small smile stretched across his face once your hand started moving. The pleasure wasn't new, but was oh so welcomed. He was glad he finally got you.
You gave him a few pumps, allowing his precum to build up on your hand, making everything easier.
"There ya go, baby. So sweet." You whispered, kissing the back of his ear.
Draco brought a pale pink lip between pearly white teeth again, his hips pushing forward to get more.
The hand still resting on his hip came around to the front, gathered a bit of precum off the tip before slinking back around to the back. He used the pre like lube and pushed a finger into Draco's tight hole, causing him to emit a squeal and arch his back a little but.
"Oh, Godric. I'm so excited to wreck you, baby."
"(Y/n)!" he squeaked out as the finger went deeper. He bit his lip harder, the pain slowly dying out and being replaced with a burning pleasure.
You loved hearing your name being moaned like that, just like he enjoyed hearing his when he was suckin' on your lolli. You added a second finger, slowly thrusting them in and out to try and speed this along. You could only jerk someone off for so long anyway.
You licked your lips, a determined expression event on how badly you wanted him. Maybe eating his ass would've been more effective.
"Please hurry, I don't know how much more of this I can take-" his voice was higher in pitch, his hips pushing back against you. "Please-"
"Ok, baby, ok. No need to beg." you chuckled, removing your hands from their working positions. Gently rubbing your hand over one cheek, you spread it open enough to spit in it, just to be safe. "Ready?" your free hand grabbed your own dick pumping it a few times for good measure.
"I wouldn't be asking you to do it if I wasn't, now would I?" the blonde snapped back, glaring over his shoulder. How did he go from so innocent he's almost choking from one finger in him to being a demanding brat all over again?
You rolled your eyes and lined yourself up, carefully and slowly pushing in until you made it past the first ring of muscle. Both of you moaned at the feeling, your hands coming to rest against his hips as his head ducked down, his chin pressed against his chest.
You slowly pushed in deeper, a whine leaving his throat as the twisted pain came back. You reached around to grab his dick again and jerked him off a little bit more to try and counterbalance the pain.
Once you were all the way in, you just let him adjust. You kissed across his still clothed shoulders and neck, whispering encouraging words of praise.
The hand on his hip dragged itself upward, your eyes following it in the mirror. Once it made it to his chest, you cupped one of his pecs through the shirt, feeling his perky nipple pressing against your palm.
Grinding your palm down against his nipple and continuing to rub his dick, you slowly pulled out almost all the way before pushing back in with one sweep.
You literally left him breathless. He was staring at you through the reflection in the mirror, his mouth hanging open, his eyes glazed over with need, his hair a mess.
You built up a pave easily, deep and hard but slow and Draco loved every second of it. His toes curled in his boots, his back arched into your hands while his hips fought to figure out if they wanted to go forward into your hand or back into your dick. It truly was a conundrum for the twink.
"Such a good boy for me, aren't ya?" You spoke up after a while, your voice gravelly and rough and right in his ear. You let out a breathy laugh when he shuddered and moaned from that alone.
The two of you weren't concerned with the sound of skin hitting skin or your moans echoing around the hallow bathroom. You were busy, I don't blame you.
Soon enough, Draco was begging you to speed up, his release starting to creep it's way around. You nodded your head, resting your forehead against his shoulder as you spend your hips up, a grunt leaving your lips.
Draco let out a loud whine when your fingers pinched one of his nipples, his hands clawing at the walls as pleasure coursed through his veins.
"I'm gonna cum in you." You groaned against his back. "I'm gonna mark you as mine and you're gonna sit there and enjoy it."
Fuck yeah, he was.
Draco was nowhere near complaining. He'd been fantasizing of this and so much more for years. He, of course, blamed his hormones, but he knew the effect ran deeper than just lust.
Draco nodded his head. "Please-" he moaned out your name, his thighs trembling from the pleasure. He was getting closer and, honestly, so where you.
The pureblood was so warm and hugged you so right in all the right places and Albus mother-fucking Dumbledore where you getting more of this later.
This stupid cute blonde was so intoxicating it almost made you feel pathetic. Keyword is almost.
You sped up, chasing after your own release as it also reared its head around the corner.
"G-gonna cum-" Draco stuttered out, his voice cracking. One hand fell from the wall to the porcelain sink at his waist. "I-I'm.. Gonna-" he called out your name, loud enough for it to probably be heard by the Gryffindors, as he came.
He tightened and spasmed around you, his legs shaking and tiny moans leaving his throat as you helped him ride out his orgasm.
"Are you good?" You asked, rubbing his back and soon letting go of his soft dick when he deemed it was sensitive. "Do you want me to pull out?"
Draco shook his head, his ears noticeably red from behind him. "I want you to keep your promise."
He did not have to tell you twice. You went back to thrusting into him, both hands on his waist as you sought after your own orgasm. A few moans and groans from you later and you were cumming inside him.
You leaned into him, riding it out until his tight, hot ass became too much. You pulled out carefully, causing him to whine and twitch.
"Let's get you cleaned up, ok, Draco?"
The blonde nodded his head and allowed you to carefully and gently clean him up with a wet paper towel. It wasn't the lost romantic thing used to clean partners, but it was what you had.
After a few minutes of silence once you were cleaned and dressed you spoke up.
"So what.. Where are you doing by Gryffindor Tower, Blondie?" your hands ended up in your pockets again.
"Well I.." The pureblood reached into the pocket of his jacket, pulling out an envelope. "I was going to..."
"Draco, babe. I saw your 'o' face. Just tell me. You shouldn't be embarrassed." You snickered, obviously teasing the younger man.
He took in a deep breath and shoved the letter toward you.
"IwroteyoualetterexplaininghowIfeltaboutyouandhowIwassorryforhowItreatedyoursister-" he was going way too fast for you to understand anything.
"What? I can't.. I don't speak whatever this is."
"I.. Just read the letter!"
With that, you tore open the envelope. It was the love letter Draco was gonna leave by your bedside table.
The letter stated how he fell in love with you from a far over the years by watching you dominate in Quidditch, bringing light into the world with the Twins (let's be honest, imma throw them in this) and just.. Being you. Plus bickering with you was one of his favorite pastimes.
It also stated how he was sorry for treating Hermione so poorly and the citation with his dad and how he was raised.
The Slytherin was nervously wringing his hands together, a nervous expression on his face. "Umm.. Are.. You gonna say something?" his mental fingers were crossed.
You smiled, tilting your head a little bit.
"You're an idiot." You pulled him into a gentle kiss, your hand entangling with his. You casted him a genuine smile. "I like you too, Draco."
The blonde's face broke out in a matching grin and he all but jumped on you to give you another kiss. Once the two of you broke apart, your voice echoed in the bathroom once again.
"There's only one problem."
"What is it?"
"How do we tell Hermione?"

*chants softly* Do it - write that modern AU uno fic that the fandom doesn't realise that they desperately need 👿😏😘
Remember this? This came up between Christmas and New Year’s 2019 xD And now I finally did it.
Tumblr media
Pairing: Arthur x gn reader | Words: 2325 | Rating: mildly nsft | Tags: strip Uno (yes, you’re reading this right), modern AU
The party is in full swing around you, but you have no desire to join in. It's been a while since a new year made you hopeful, and all the happiness and well wishes for another promising year sound forced and wrong in your ears.
It's too loud, and it smells like alcohol and too many people in a small space. You can barely breathe, so you head along the corridor to the rooms that are off-limits to the other guests. You don't feel like crashing in John's and Abigail's bedroom, so you take the next room that's part office, part storage room. In the past, you sometimes crashed here for the night.
You close the door behind you with a sigh and are about to head for the couch, but then you spot someone sitting in front of it on the ground. He's hunched over a little and looks up when you stop dead in your tracks.
"Oh, sorry, I didn't know somebody was in here."
"It's alright," the guy says, offering you a kind smile.
A little lamp next to the sofa throws a soft shadow on his face, and you recognize the beard and nice features. You've seen him many times in photos around the apartment.
"You're Arthur, right?" you ask. "John's friend slash brother?"
Arthur chuckles. "Yeah, I guess you could call me that."
"I'm Y/N, Abigail's friend."
Recognition shows in Arthur's face, and he nods. "Friend slash soul mate slash the only person who understands Abigail whenever John acts like … well, John."
"So you have heard of me."
"A little, here and there," Arthur says, "mostly good."
"Mostly?"
Arthur grins a little one-sided, and something warm rises up in your stomach. You always thought that Arthur was handsome based on the pictures. It's way worse in person.
"I didn't mean to crush your party-" you start, but Arthur interrupts you.
"It's alright. I understand the urge for some peace and quiet. Please stay."
"Thanks." You move closer and sit down on the ground, putting your first and only drink down on the table next to the lamp. "What you got there?"
"Uno cards, if you believe it," Arthur says, and you both look at each other and speak at the same time. "John."
Arthur laughs, and you take a sip from your drink, enjoying the view. You definitely prefer Arthur's company to all the fake happy people outside.
"You gonna shuffle those all night, or are you ready to lose?" you ask.
"Lose?" Arthur measures you with a raised brow. "Around here, nobody takes me on."
You wave your fingers at him. "Come on then. Deal."
Arthur shuffles the cards for real now before setting up the first game, and you try to figure out if you've ever had a stranger New Year's Eve. Sitting in a friend's apartment playing Uno with a stranger is not a plan you would have made.
About two minutes later, Arthur puts his last card on the pile. "See?" he teases, but you just shrug.
"Beginner's luck."
You go back and forth with dealing the cards, and although Arthur wins the first three games, you soon catch up, making you both even again.
"So, why are you in here?" you ask, sorting your cards.
"I only came because John and Abigail wanted to set me up, but she didn't show," Arthur says with a shrug. "Didn't feel like partying after that."
"That sucks. Did her plans change?"
"More her perspective, I guess," Arthur says, something defeated in his voice. "Saw my profile picture, and suddenly she changed her mind."
"Nah, that can't be it."
"Why not?"
"Because you're gorgeous."
"I- What?" Arthur stumbles.
"I'm telling you that you're a very attractive man," you say while watching your cards. "And Uno, by the way."
"Oh, well, thank you, I guess," Arthur says. He puts another card on the pile, his cheeks now sporting a red tinge. "You're very nice."
"Just honest. And I win."
You grin at Arthur as he collects the cards to shuffle again. "You really are a worthy foe. We should make this more interesting."
"What, like strip poker?" you joke and Arthur laughs.
"We only have Uno cards." He's about to deal, but then he looks at you with a mischievous spark in his eyes. "Although it doesn't make much difference, really."
You look at each other and there's a sudden tension as if both of you wait for the other to chicken out or laugh. You wish you could, but the idea of getting Arthur naked is too tempting, even if you might lose some of your clothes yourself.
"We should probably lock the door," you say as casually as you can.
"Yeah, that's a good idea."
You get up to lock the door, and when you come back, Arthur deals, both of you acting as if nothing changed, but you feel a constant wave of heat running up and down your body. Before, you didn't really care much for your cards, but now every move counts.
Arthur's the first one to win, but the second he puts down the card, he looks like he'd rather take it back. "Look, you don't have to-"
You interrupt him by taking off one of your shoes. "You're just worried you're going to lose."
 "Fine, you're asking for it."
Arthur wins again, getting your second shoe, followed by you winning for the first time. Like you, Arthur loses his shoes first, and then you agree to count both socks as one item. That's how Arthur ends up shirtless pretty soon after. You tell yourself that a naked torso is really nothing special, but for some reason, you play your worst round.
"You seem to have a hard time concentrating," Arthur teases, and you hate that he actually noticed.
"Shut up," you grunt, focusing on the cards. Still, you can't help but peek at Arthur once in a while.
"How did you end up here then tonight?" Arthur asks.
"My ex is back in town and hung around in front of my apartment, so Abigail suggested I hang out here."
"Something to be concerned about?" Arthur asks, his voice making clear how he thinks about a stalker-y ex.
"It's not that bad, really. They're not dangerous or anything, just annoying," you explain. "It's probably just a desperate 'alone on New Year's Eve' thing. Like I'd do that again."
You roll your eyes, and Arthur chuckles. "One of those, huh? Just gotta wait them out then. And this is your shirt gone."
He puts down his last card, and you get to your feet. "I'll go with the pants first if you don't mind. I'm hot anyway."
"Suit yourself," Arthur says nonchalantly, but you can feel his eyes on you as you slide the fabric down your legs.
Arthur looks away again when you sit, but your skin still prickles, and you wonder how much more of this you can take. Playing freaking Uno shouldn't be this hot.
Lucky for you, you get a good hand, and despite your lack of concentration, Arthur's the one who has to get rid of his pants next. You try your best not to stare at his junk but fail miserably. Suddenly you're very concerned about what could happen next. Arthur must think the same.
"Glad we locked the door," Arthur grunts, "I don't need strangers looking at my junk."
"I'm a stranger, too, aren't I?"
"You called me gorgeous; you can do whatever you want," Arthur says.
You know he's joking, but that doesn't stop your brain from imagining things you could do to or with him. That very pleasing but also distracting train of thought loses you your shirt in the next round. Still, Arthur's the one who has to get rid of his underwear first.
This time, you have the decency to look away until he sits down again, and the red on Arthur's cheeks is back.
"So, what now?" he asks. "Can't exactly take off more if I lose."
After what you just thought about, your brain seems to have lost all sensible ideas, and you blurt out the first thing on your mind. "Truth or dare."
Arthur chuckles. "Really? And next up is 'spin the bottle?'"
"Hey, we're playing strip Uno," you huff, "you really want to get judgemental on me now?"
"Alright, alright, 'truth or dare' it is. Just deal."
You deal the cards with butterflies taking flight in your stomach. You don't even know what to ask or dare Arthur, but the alternative is to get naked yourself. Either way, you're in trouble.
The round goes on and on, both of you putting on more cards rather than losing them, but then the game turns in Arthur's favor until he forgets to say Uno. You have better luck then, finally winning the round.
This time, it's you who tries to offer a way out. "Look, you don't have-"
"No, no, that's what we agreed on," Arthur says, waving his fingers at you. "Come on, ask."
"Alright, truth, or dare?"
Arthur studies you for a moment, his gaze so intense that a cold shiver runs down your spine. "Dare."
All kinds of stupid things run through your mind, but you don't want to make Arthur look foolish, especially in front of anybody else. You want to keep him all to yourself.
"I dare you not to move, no matter what."
Arthur raises his eyebrows in surprise but stays deliberately still. You take all your courage and crawl over to him, scattering the cards without a second thought.
When you reach Arthur, you run your cheek along his one like a cat before placing soft kisses along his neck. You hear him take in a sharp breath, but he doesn't move.
You look up to him, and he keeps still as you move closer, your lips hovering so close to his that you can feel his breath. It takes all your willpower not to kiss him, but you're still playing after all.
"Your turn," you say, looking right into Arthur's eyes. They're a nice shade of blue but with an almost golden circle in the middle.
"Truth or dare?" Arthur asks.
"Dare," you say way too fast.
Arthur's lip twitches into a smile, but he still doesn't move. "I dare you to come closer."
You crawl into Arthur's lap, very aware of the fact that only a tiny piece of fabric keeps you apart. With your arms around Arthur's neck, you make yourself comfortable, but your faces are still inches apart.
"Truth or dare?" you ask.
"The truth is that I didn't say Uno on purpose," Arthur says. You believe him, which means that he wanted for this little game to start.
"Trickery," you say, running your fingers through his hair, "how very naughty of you. I think that entitles me to dare you again."
"Sounds fair."
You move even closer, your fingers teasing Arthur's neck. "I dare you to touch me."
Arthur places his hands on your knees before running them up to your thighs. You get goosebumps all over your skin and can't help that you fidget a little. The friction takes its toll on Arthur. You can feel him pressing up against you while he runs his hands up along your body.
"Truth or dare?" he asks, his fingers dancing over your back.
"Truth. I want you to kiss me."
Arthur caresses your shoulders while he looks at you, his fingers climbing your neck in slow motion. The touch makes you shiver, but you stay right where you are, letting Arthur cup your face with his hands. Only when there's a barely-there pull, you move, finally closing the gap between you and Arthur.
You can't remember the last time someone kissed you this gently, and you melt against Arthur, promising yourself to stay in his lap for as long as you possibly can.
Arthur deepens the kiss, the taste, and warmth of him making you forget where you are until there's a harsh knock on the door.
"Hey, Y/N? You in there? It's me."
You feel like being doused with ice water, and your fingers dig harshly into Arthur's shoulders.
"Who's that?" he whispers, worry in his expression.
"My ex," you whisper back.
"Come on, let's talk," comes the voice from outside.
Arthur raises his eyebrows in question, and you immediately shake your head, so he tilts his head to face the door. "Do you mind? We're trying to hook up in here."
There's silence, and you bite your lip so you won't laugh. Sadly, your ex doesn't give up that easily. "Who is this?"
"It's Arthur; you might want to remember that name the next time you skulk around somebody's apartment."
It's silent again, then your ex clears their throat. "Just call me, okay? We can talk about this?"
You look at Arthur, slightly shaking your head, so you both stay quiet until you're sure your ex is gone. Arthur leans back with a sigh, resting his head against the couch. "That was not a turn on."
"I'm sorry," you say, running your fingers over his beard. "Like I said - annoying."
Arthur watches the ceiling for a bit before he takes your hands, threading your fingers together. "You know, I have an apartment, too. No exes hanging around that one."
You laugh. "Getting me naked here doesn't mean you can get me naked over there."
"I just borrow these cards, and we'll see what happens."
He kisses you again, and you have to admit to yourself that you'd rip your clothes off in an instant if he asked you to. You still act like you need to be persuaded. "Fine, you may take me there and try again. You might lose, though."
Arthur smiles. "I'll take that risk."
Getting dressed has never been such a thrill for you. Maybe the new year wasn't so bad after all.

a very silly crossover au that’s been living in my head rent-free for the past two days. hlvrai and wizard of oz, but in which gordon has seen the wizard of oz movie and is just “oh, what the hell” when he and his/benrey’s cat sony end up in the land of oz. (this takes place post-canon, and at a point where gordon and benrey have long since reconciled and are now officially dating. and have a perfect immortal cat that tommy made for them. named Sony PlayStation.)
now you’d think he’d be able to just instantly go home/wake up/whatever, having seen the movie and thus knowing the way home is to click the ruby slippers’ heels together. unfortunately for gordon, it’s not magic shoes this time! instead, he ends up receiving a pair of magical ruby earrings, and he has no fucking clue what would be the equiv of heel clicks for these things. so he still has to go on the trek to the emerald city. lucky him. also, like in the movie? all the important characters he meets in oz look like his friends and family (and, uh, forzen). tommy’s the good witch of the north, forzen’s the one who got squashed by his house (and who previously had the earrings), benrey’s the witch of the west (tho decidedly less “wicked” than the movie version- he just keeps following gordon through the whole quest and incessantly, if politely, asking to have the earrings. also when benrey’s introduced as the witch of the west, gordon’s like “Wait, shouldn’t you be like, a wizard instead of a witch?” “i don’t have a beard though.” “You don’t ha- what does that have to do with anything??” “gotta have an epic beard to be a wizard, duh. it’s the uhhh law. wizard law.” “Wizard law is very serious, Mr. Freeman!” “...Right. I’m sure it is.”) bubby’s the scarecrow, because i find the irony of the “perfect scientist with vast knowledge injected into his brain and also pyrokinesis powers” being the “brainless” highly flammable scarecrow funny. coomer’s the tinman, if only because of the whole cyborg thing. i actually at first had coomer and bubby’s roles reversed, with scarecrow!coomer’s reasoning being coomer’s glitchy brain in-canon, but like i said before, i like the irony of pyro bubby being the scarecrow more. :P darnold is the cowardly lion, because of course he is. when they first reach the woods lion!darnold lurks in, and darnold pounces out to try and spook them, gordon just deadpans “Hey Darnold.” to which a very confused lion!darnold who has never seen this man in his life just goes “...Uh. Hi? ...Hhhooowww did you...?” “Oh he’s been doing this all fucking day. He somehow already knew all our names, too.” “-which is sus as hell-” “-Shut the hell up, Benrey.” “maybe if you give me those earrings? please. thank you.” “For the last fucking time, NO.” “mean...” mr. coolatta is conman oz, who still hates benrey’s guts even tho benrey isn’t nearly as antagonistic as the movie’s witch was (it’s because benrey’s the only one who sees through his tricks... and keeps getting on his case about calling himself a wizard despite having no facial hair to speak of. VERY illegal. fake wizard). when they get to the emerald city and get an audience with “oz”, gordon wastes no time in just strolling up to the curtain and yanking that shit open. gordon wants to go HOME, to see his non oz-i-fied friends and family. this ‘wicked witch’ version of benrey constantly badgering him about his earrings is starting to make him think too much of his own benrey’s passport thing and he’d really like to not think anymore about that exceptionally shitty start to their relationship, thank you very much. (“yoooo there’s another me that’s dating you? niiiice. give me a high-five for me when you see me.” and then witch!benrey stops flirting with gordon cause he doesn’t wanna steal his own boyfriend from himself. he certainly wouldn’t want an alternate version of himself to steal HIS cute boyfriend, if he had one! that’d be like, so uncool, man.) i haven’t thought about what happens after that, or what all shenans would happen in place of wicked witch’s attacks (since witch!benrey is content to just follow gordon around and beg at him for the ruby earrings), but yeah. also of course benrey has skeleton minions still instead of flying monkeys. also also i first thought of having sunkist be in toto’s place, but i can’t see why gordon would have sunkist with him without tommy. so Sony PlayStation the cat is gordon’s “toto” instead. which i think still works, cause toto was a small black dog, and sony is a small black cat, so. (if they still first try to leave oz via hot air balloon, the reason gordon ends up missing the ride is because some emerald city citizen’s dog scares sony out of gordon’s arms and the balloon basket, and like hell gordon’s leaving without his and his boyfriend’s perfect cat (on the off-chance that this isn’t all just a dream like in the movie. which he still really hopes isn’t the case)). sunkist is still in this, though. instead of traveling via magic bubble, good witch tommy rides his giant magical flying dog to get around.

STUCK IN MY WAYS
“Aye, yo shor- how long you in the city?”
Maleek’s -- or Leek -- introduction last summer was a scary one. Standing outside of papi’s, draped under Dave’s arm,  Dave and his crew stopped their conversations as a midnight blue Caprice classic creeped up to the edge of the corner. Everyone, including Dave, grew on guard, their demeanors ceasing to exist at the drop of a hat because a never-before-seen whip with barely-legal tinted windows came to a complete stop. As the passenger’s side window dropped, Dave whispered to you to go inside of the store to grab him something to eat, his favorite: turkey hoagie, everything on it. You could hear the growl in his undertone as if it was an order. You obliged out of a fright only to hear laughter mere seconds later once Leek’s solid body came bouncing out of the sunroof to one of his latest tracks.
Leek was the neighborhood rapper. He spent thirty minutes or so showing his videos on YouTube the one night you were in the studio with him and his crew. He was dope, you couldn’t lie. Built like a linebacker, Leek’s full ahki beard and super tatted-up upper body was a bad one. You caught yourself fantasizing about how bad Leek could really be but quickly remember that Dave got to you first. Thank God.
“Only for today, Leek. I’m heading back down tonight.”
“Damn. Dope of you to come up for your mans.”
You’d small talk Leek except he’s cutting into your homework of trying to figure out your getaway from this party to wherever Dave wanted to take you. Dave still lingered upstairs as you bobbed and weaved through the party to find Yahya. You were hoping that in the time it would take for you to get through Dave’s extended-extended family, you could come up with an excuse to get away for a few hours.
You could fake a  run to the beauty supply store for some braiding hair but the stores back home were good and hood enough to find the yaki you needed. You promised to take Yahya to papi’s for that hoagie, so no store run could be in order. Your entire family is at Pardi’s house so no “run up to my cousins house right quick” would work. You keep thinking of what to say as Dave rips another message through your DMs. It’s an address and an agreement to meet in thirty minutes.
“Oh, Dave? Yeah. I’m happy he’s home.”
“Who else you think I was talking about? Y’all still down, right?”
Leek’s inquiry throws you off guard. You knew he had a lightweight crush on you -- Dave once joked that he could see Leek’s mouth hit the floor when you walked into the studio that night -- but now the boldness to ask your status in this moment is taking you back to a DM from Leek that you deleted but never told Dave about.
“Dave and I? We’re cool. We ain’t down like we were but we’re cool. My fiance’ helped Dave with his case. That’s why I’m here.”
Leek notices the blinding engagement ring you ignored up until this moment and suddenly, so do you. It’s the first time in hours that you remembered your  man at home and like Chante’ Moore said, “he’s been good…” to you. Your conscience hurries you to dead your quest to find quiet time with Dave. You wouldn’t be on your best behavior; there would be no guarantees that Dave would stand on the right side of history. Upstairs, for that brief moment, your lips touched Dave’s neck and almost caught a bite. Dave used to love that move, digging deeper into you as you almost broke skin so he could commence to breaking your back. You fell into his body by mistake but his hands knew what they were doing. Tracing your stripes down to the seam of your panties was intentional. You pooled at the idea of him taking them off.
You aren’t naive. You wanted Dave and he wanted you. The moment was beyond brief yet beyond impactful. Leek’s unforeseen act as an impromptu guardian angel stops you from making the worst mistake of your life.
“Ahh, congrats ma!” Leek reluctantly goes in for a brotherly-esque hug. You give him a church hug in return, that side hug catching Yahya’s attention as he exits the backyard area to  look for you. He grabs your wrist as you release Leek from your innocent clutches.
“Excuse me, brotha ... [Y/N], you ready to go?” You quickly nod your head up and down in the direction of your forever. Leek didn’t like the way your man cut into his moment but he hastily concedes after you tap your hand on his chest and send your well wishes.
“We still heading over to that hoagie spot, right?” Yahya tapping his stomach as he grabs the car keys from his left pocket.  “I’m dying. And Ms. Gwen’s food looked smackin’. Took me a lot to not go in, baby girl…”
“You could’ve ate. We’ll be up here again.”
“Nah, nah. The way you were talking about this damn sandwich. I want a hit.”
Dave’s message feels like an afterthought as you jump into the passenger seat. Your meetup was only twenty minutes away but you broke the spell of Dave and tried to forget.  A light tap on the passenger side window wakes you up.
“Y’all leaving already?! Damn.” Uncle Trace daps Yahya through the car window, a mix of weed and Polo Red wafting past your nose.
“Yeah, Unc…” Yahya’s salutation makes your heart smile. “...we gotta get back to homebase.”
“Aight, king. Get my niece home safe. Love you, [Y/N].”
As you direct Yahya to the cornerstone named papi’s, you couldn’t help but  stare at the way he commanded the streets. The potholes that got the best of him the last time he came here are no match for him today. He’s even driving with one hand, something he never did before -- or that you never peeped. His level of comfort on the side of town that you also call home is reminding you right before your eyes that you’re the luckiest girl in the world. All from calling your Uncle Trace by a pet name.
You find a spot close to papi’s and walk in with enough time. Yahya commands for you to order for him and you obey: turkey hoagie, everything on it. You order a chicken cheesesteak, wrapping your arms around Yahya’s waist as you both small talk about the week ahead. You weren’t letting go for anything in this world. Yahya briefly lets go to grab two Tahitian Treats out of the cooler. His big hands grab the drinks, hoagies and you up to the counter.
“Let me get two vanilla dutches, please.”
“Yah- what you doing?  You don’t smoke.”
“I usually don’t. Don’t mean I haven’t. I’m tryna finish this weekend out right. We still celebrating.”
“That’s fine but who the hell you get the weed from?”
“Unc.”
Unbeknownst to you, that dap between included an eighth of silver haze.
“Oh, this is it. You ain’t coming around my family anymore. Nope.”
“I’m Jerri’s favorite. You can’t do that…”
Dave doesn’t know what to do. It’s been some time since your message and you haven’t sent an “OK” or any signal of your arrival. He paces down the steps and out the door, running into Trace talking on the steps to Dave’s uncle, Clifford.  He tries ignoring them both but Trace isn’t having it.
“Yo, you leaving your own party, man?”
“My bad, Trace. I gotta make a run up Olney real quick for something. I’ll be back though…” Dave’s last words trail in the air as he walks down the street toward papi’s. Somehow Trace’s old self catches up to him.
“Bruh, slow down. You just got home…” Somehow Trace’s reminder does indeed slow Dave down. He’s been moving too fast since you agreed to meet up with him. He can’t keep up with his mind.
Dave didn’t know what to do when you sent that message. He felt a semblance of guilt for touching your spot, for letting your body fall into his, for staring at you as if he wasn’t going to see you again. For all the thoughts he had as you both sat in the same room where he’d coax the devil out of your body night after night. He was willing to risk it all only if you wanted it. Your message answered his prayer.
“Yeah, Trace. I know. I just gotta get out the house for a second too…”
“Oh, no doubt. They think that once you out, you wanna see the world. You just want the world to know you good, that’s it.” Trace’s wisdom plummets Dave.
It’s been his truth since he got home from jail. He didn’t want to be surrounded by the people who didn’t check on him or his mother; the people who ignored Pardi’s angered Facebook posts about Dave’s situation. People who donated to the bail fund out of guilt, not out of care. The only people who cared to know his fate  were his mother, Pardi, Trace, Yahya and you, even if you never reached out. He knew you to be the catalyst to his freedom even if you at one time secretly fought it.
You walked up those steps to his old room to see if he was okay. You knew that large crowds made him skittish. Something within you broke the rules to see if he needed a safe space to be. That summer, you were that. Dave unleashed his heart out to you in ways that even his mother would never see. Despite what seemed different about you, you weren’t afraid of his story. He felt close to you, letting you into a world that you didn’t know but could feel.
Dave wanted one more chance to feel you. Yahya be damned.
Watching Yahya yell  salutations to him and Trace from his car window as he drives by gut checks Dave. And makes him wonder if you’re with him. That would deviate from the plan that you created and Dave was on his way to fulfill.
“This is the best shit I’ve ever had, [Y/N]. You weren’t lyin’. Bruh…” Yahya delightfully wipes the last of the mayonnaise from the side of his mouth.
“Told you!”
“They should cater the wedding. I’m not playing.”
The unseasonably warm evening meets you and Yahya as you stare across at Camden’s waterfront. The pier is popping with families enjoying the last bits of early winter before the clocks strike back and school gets into a full swing. It’s a bit of calm before you two hit I-95 back to what sadly isn’t Chocolate City anymore. Yahya caresses your right knee as you stare over the Delaware. You were beyond ready to get home. Your future husband breaks your gaze. “I meant to ask you. Who was bruh all hugged up on you in the house?”
“Heh. Why?”
“You were church huggin’ him to death but he wasn’t getting a clue at all.”
“Oh that was Maleek, a friend of Dave. No big deal.” You play off Yahya’s somewhat jealous disposition even as it humors you. You rather him ask about Leek than Dave.  “Let me find out you jealous? Look at you.”
“Nah. I just know mad dudes are on you. I trust you though.” Up until an hour ago, he didn’t have a reason to do that.
“Dave was too, to be real.” You decide to break down all of the walls. The case was over. You think you’re over Dave. Yahya is minutes into a food coma.
“Well yeah, Jerri told me. Some teenager stuff. I saw those pictures. I’d be chasing you down the hallway too.”
“Boy, please. But no -- remember I told you about that lobbyist dude I dated who damn near ghosted me before we went to the Bahamas? I ended up coming up here for those weeks and Dave and I messed. Nothing serious.”
“You sure? Dude was eyefucking you real crazy at Jerri’s house last Summer.”
“Hold up? You saw that?!” What you thought you hid from Yahya, he saw in plain sight.
“Everybody could, damn.  Heh. It’s all good though. So was I.”
You joust your fingers into Yahya’s side causing him to fall into laughter. Four words suddenly send you into an orgasmic-level of relaxation. Yahya didn’t seem to care. Once you ride off the orgasmic high, you feel insanely stupid. One conversation lessened the guilt of a relationship that lasted two weeks but imprinted onto you for what felt like forever. A moment of repentance overdue coaxes witty banter out of Yahya, not the dissolution of a relationship. It shouldn’t have been this easy.
That’s how u feel?
Your walk back to the car is broken up by a message from Dave. Your lack of a response to his earlier texts told him that you were in the car that Yahya yelled his love from. Your broken promise to break up a happy home slowly breaks Dave’s heart even though he knew better than to break the rules.
You don’t know what to say in response, turning your phone on silent not to alert Yahya’s attention. There’s nothing for you to say. Dave does all the talking for you.
Yo. I’m not some snake ass nigga. I wasnt doin anything with you that you didnt want
You came lookin for me.
I can’t be friends with you?
You wake up to see Dave’s last message sent hours ago. Before you walk into your front door and out of Dave’s life forever, you send your final goodbye.
I don’t think it’s best. I’m sorry.

… I just thought if a cursed head canon: Taylor would absolutely try to be Star’s Hallow Santa at an event.
who?? this guy?
Tumblr media
yes, he would.
__________
god, the idea upsets me so bad
Tumblr media Tumblr media
___________
i also totally picture a whole scene in which lorelai asks miss patty (because we all know she's the one in charge, really) to be the town's santa that Christmas and, obviously, miss patty agrees. so she makes herself a costume and gathers a beard and all that.
the week leading to the 25th, taylor cheerfully strolls through the square, santa's costume on point, to find lorelai already sitting on the armchair, waiting for kids to sit on her lap.
taylor gets upset, mad, whiny-- he goes complaining to patty and it goes like this:
"sorry, sugar, she has asked in early October"
"But i am santa! I always play santa! I am the town's santa!"
"well, taylor, you should have asked then, and claimed the seat"
"I've never had to ask"
"and look what's happened"
"i am santa! i demand that you tell lorelai she won't do it"
"sorry, sugar, cannot do"
"but she's-- she's--"
"she's what??"
"she's, uhm, she's got a fake beard! yes! she cannot possibly play santa"
"as half the santas out there"
"i- i--"
"taylor, please, there's already lots to do today so, i am begging you, can we move on now? lorelai will be santa and that is final."
and that's how stars hollow ended up with two santas --a very cheery and popular one under the gazebo, with a long line of excited kids, and a broody, grumbling one right in front of the soda shoppe (and not even the promise of a free lollipop could get them business).
lorelai didn't even want to be santa; it was all purely out of spite. a long-term prank of sort. she's totally gonna do it again, next year.
also, kirk plays the elf.
[Like, have you ever watched the office 6x13 'secret santa'? that's what you gotta think of]

THE STAIRWELL
A lot been happenin'
LOCATION
We have been working hard on getting our location for the film. Tom and Cal headed over to Ocean Terminal to scout some spooky looking stairs and found the PERFECT fire escape.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[stairs + scary monster in a red cap]
It's exactly what we all had imaged for the film! Lighting wise, we would work on flagging the lights on the walls, plus post-production will help to make it darker too. So, Alex is currently talking with them but it's a "I'll talk to the manager" situation right now, which is so stressful - no location means no shoot day which means no actors which means no BRIAN, and we NEED Brian.
We are also looking at a nearby firestation for backup, using the fire practice stairs. Jenny is talking with them!
EQUIPMENT
Gee Whiz has this been stressful. But Jenny has done great managing to get us everything she can! We picked it all up today from Churchill and took it back to Toms flat to check everything was there and practice a wee set up.
Tumblr media
We've noted we gotta charge battery packs and buy double A's for the shoot as there won't be any plugs in the fire escape (or firestation if plan A fails).
CASTING
I've mentioned we are facing a little trouble casting as without a location we can't confirm dates currently. However, so far I've stuck up a Facebook ad on a casting page in Edinburgh for our main character Brian, received 4 enquiries so far! I also had someone from 'Backstage UK' contact me as they'd seen my ad. They offered free advertising on their site, which was lovely, so I've shared the code with everyone else in the course.
[Incase anyone missed it: NEILLCAST on https://www.backstage.com/cast-your-project/]
But talking with a few of the applicants now, they all seem great for the part, just need to wait on location and their availability.
From the start of planning this project, we've had Samuel Dunér in mind to play our scientist. With his beard and glasses, it would be straight up silly not to have this man play a mysterious scientist. So we are chatting with him to see when he is available, we are all very busy with our own projects but we appreciate him trying to help us out :)
SO, our monster. This is going to be very interesting and I genuinely cannot wait to see the final result. Our wonderful and beautiful friend Miguel will play our terrifying and ugly monster. He is quite small, so my plan for a creepy shot of the monster curled in on itself will work with Miguel. He also has a shaved head so applying a bald cap will be easier. Tom plans to test the prosthetics this weekend before the shoot.
PROPS
We are pretty prepped on this front. I've ordered a 'Majorcom Microphone' from Ebay for our scientist. Maybe we could have used a normal microphone but in the script and our ~visions~ he has this old school mic with the button you have to push to speak.
Tumblr media
We are filming the scientist scenes in the Screen Academy, using one of the little rooms as all we need is two monitors.
A problem we have discovered is our fake blood. In our script, Brian starts with his hands in a pool of blood. We can't really do this at Ocean Terminal or the firestation as fake blood will most likely stain the floor...so trying to figure this one out (if anyone has any idea please let us know).
STORYBOARDS
I've been making a few storyboards for the shoot. I haven't done them all but just a couple to get a feel of the cinematography.
Tumblr media
SHOT LIST
Cal has been working on a shot list for the film, he has done a good job! We be very organised.
Tumblr media
SOUND
Just a little on sound. I think Alex plans on starting to collect sounds fro the project tomorrow. I'm sure we will have a big post from him on his plans, so keep an eye out!
But yeahhhhhhh, lots of stuff going on. However very excited for the shoot :)

pragma - part one
Pairing: Frankie “Catfish” Morales x Female reader
Warnings: none for this part
A/N: My brain wouldn’t let me rest until I started writing this story that’s been floating around my head for awhile. I hope someone likes it. And please let me know what you all think :)
Summary: Your lives took you in two different directions but when you meet again you realize time hasn’t done much to rid you of the feelings that once held everything together.
 pragma masterlist
Tumblr media
The rain had been coming down in sheets the day you decided to go back to the place you had called home for eighteen years of your life. You swore you would never come back when you first left five years ago, but here you were—and nothing seemed to change. The house you grew up in was still standing and most of the mom and pop shops were still going strong—something that made you smile.
If anyone had asked why you left, you wouldn’t be sure what to tell them. The real reason was a childish one, now that you look back on it, but back then you were truly hurt. Now that you had lived through a marriage and were going through a divorce, you liked to believe you were stronger. You had done well for yourself and it wasn’t easy, but you always told yourself that relying on others was never an option.
You pulled into the parking lot of the small pub that you frequented with friends all those years ago. You wondered how they all were. The last you heard they were military men and that didn’t surprise you at all.
You got out of the car and turned on the alarm, cautiously eyeing the men who stared at you and your car in a way that made you suspicious. Yeah. It had been too long. That type of thing would have never bothered you back then.
The bar was bustling—typical for a Friday evening, but you found yourself a table in the corner. You ordered a beer and took in your surroundings. Not much had changed except for the bartenders and the tables were nicer. You smiled when you thought of the time you and your buddies used fake IDs to get in and got found out immediately. It had always been you, Santiago, and…Frankie.
Frankie.
Now, we’ve come to the reason why you had avoided this place for so long. Yes. A fucking man. You had let a man get to you so badly that you ran far away and never looked back.
Until now.
Until now.
You sipped your beer and took out your phone to check your email. Most of them were from your divorce lawyer these days. You never knew it would be this hard to get a man to sign divorce papers. No matter how many meetings and mediations you two went through, he still found a reason to keep dragging this out. You didn’t want to think about how much money you spent over this these past few months. Just as you put your phone down on the table and put your head in your hands, someone called your name over the din of the bar. You searched for who it could have been but couldn’t find them until he called your name again.
“No fucking way!” he exclaimed as he made his way over to you.
“Santiago?!” You stood and he kissed your cheek before pulling you in for a long hug.
“Hermana…I can’t believe it’s you.” He held you at arm’s length and shook his head. “What the hell are you doing here?”
“Just…visiting,” you said. Why were you there?
“How long has it been?” he asked.
“Too long. How have you been, Santiago?” You grabbed his hands and squeezed. You hadn’t realized how much you missed him until he was standing in front of you.
“I’m good.” His face said otherwise but you weren’t going to press it. He looked down at your hand, feeling the ring you still wore.
“Ah, look at that! My little hermana all grown up and married.”
“Eh…for now. What are you doing here?”
“Met up with Frankie for a few drinks.” You stiffened at the sound of his name. “Said he had to go to his truck for something…oh, there he is. Frankie!”
You couldn’t look up. Santiago still held your hands which kept you grounded for the most part but right now you wanted to run and hide.
“Look who I found,” Santiago said enthusiastically. Maybe he didn’t remember what happened all those years ago. But you hadn’t. You never would.
Frankie said your name and you finally looked up. “Hi,” he said awkwardly, putting his hands in his pockets. That hat. You got him that hat. He still wore it?
“Frankie…hey.” You forced yourself to smile though there were tears swimming in your eyes. Santiago had finally let your hands go and you grabbed your arm sheepishly. Frankie’s eyebrows shot up and you knew he had saw it—the ring.
“How you been?” he asked trying to look you in the eye but not being able to take his eye away from the rock on your finger. “Good it looks like.” He nodded at it.
“Oh…uh…yeah, I guess.” You tucked your hand into your jacket pocket.
“Let’s get a pitcher for the table.” Santiago walked away to order the beer and left you and Frankie standing there.
“How have you been?” you asked.
He shrugged and scratched at his scruff. “I’m okay.”
You sat back down but Frankie hovered until Santiago returned with the beer and glasses. “Cat, why are you just standing there? Sit down.” Santiago took the seat across from you, so Frankie was stuck sitting in the chair beside you.
“Santiago…”
“Why so formal?” he teased. “So, why didn’t we get an invite?” he asked as he passed you a glass of beer.
“Oh…um…it wasn’t a big thing…” That was a lie. It was a huge destination wedding.
“Maybe she was ashamed of us. Didn’t want us around all her new rich friends,” Frankie bit out. You rolled your eyes at him and drank your beer.
“You guys were all busy with your army stuff,” you said, and Frankie scoffed. “It doesn’t matter now anyway.”
“Well, are we ever gonna meet the guy?” Santiago asked.
“No.”
“Why? Are we not good enough?” Frankie snapped.
You turned and looked directly into his eyes. “Because I divorced him!” You stood and finished your beer before slamming the glass on the table and walking out. Your hands shook as you pulled your keys out and tried to press the button to turn the alarm off. The keys fell from your hands and you cursed loudly. As you bent to pick them up, you were met with a familiar pair of boots. You grabbed the keys and avoided his gaze as you stood.
“Look…I’m sorry. I didn’t know,” Frankie mumbled.
“No, you were too busy trying to make me feel bad,” you retorted. You shook your head and sniffled. “What happened to you, Frankie?”
“I don’t know. I guess I just wasn’t expecting the woman who broke my heart to show up today.”
You wanted to scream at him and call him every name under the sun but instead you calmly approached him then pulled on the bill of his cap.
“It was good seeing you, Frankie.” You turned away but he spoke again, stopping you in your tracks.
“Why’d you do it? Why’d you leave?” he asked. The rain had begun again as if it felt your sorrow.
Because of you, you wanted to say. Instead, you shook your head and smiled sadly. “I was getting nowhere staying here.”
“I thought about you every day…all those years,” he revealed. “You ever think of me?”
“Of course I did.” You lowered your head. “I should go.” You got in your car and started it as Frankie knocked on the window. You rolled it down and waited for him to speak.
“You gonna be around?” he asked.
“Yeah.”
“Can I ask you something? Why do you still wear the ring if you’re divorced?”
“I guess I just got used to wearing it.” You sighed before continuing. “And I’m not officially divorced yet,” you confessed.
“What does that mean?” He bent to stick his head in the window slightly.
“He won’t sign the papers,” you mumbled.
“Why not?”
You smiled then shrugged. “He loves me.”
“He’d be a damn fool if he didn’t.”
You giggled shyly then reached into your pocket to pull out your phone. When you handed it to him, he looked at it then at you.
“Go on and put your number in.”
He smirked. “This is a little different than scribbling it down on a piece of paper and passing it around in class, huh?” He put his number in and handed the phone back.
“Yeah,” you laughed.
“So…you better use it now that you have it,” he said pointing to the phone. “Even if it’s only for one of our late night/early morning talks. Remember those?” He smiled fondly.
“I was always getting in trouble for being on the phone with you…but it was worth it.” Something came over you and you touched his face gently. “You haven’t changed.” You still saw the boyish charm in his eyes that drew you to him in the first place.
“I changed a little…”
“Yeah, maybe the hair. And this scruff.” You pulled at it softly. “And look at that…someone’s a little grey,” you teased.
“Yeah, ha ha.” He pushed your hand away and rubbed at his beard.
“You guys should drop by some time. I’ll text you my address. It’s only about forty-five minutes away.”
“You’ve been forty-five minutes away this whole time?” he asked.
“Yup.”
“You gotta go like…right now?” There’s the Frankie you remembered. Not quite able to just say what he wanted to say.
“If you want me to stay a little longer just ask.”
“Alright. Stay a little longer, please? If you drink too much me and Pope will make sure you get home okay.” He stood up straight as you opened the car door.
“Just like old times.” You looked at him. “Speaking of old, I can’t believe you still have that cap.”
“I can’t believe it still fits my fuckin' head.” He held the door for you as you walked inside and headed back to the table where Santiago was still seated.
“What the hell were you two doing? I was ready to send a search party out.”
“We were…catching up,” you said which was partly true.
“She asked for my number,” Frankie bragged. “I think she likes me.” You nudged him and you all laughed.
“Damn, I missed this,” Pope said.
You smiled at him then looked at Frankie. “Me too.”
****
After five pitchers of beer and a lot of conversation, you sat in the backseat of your car drunkenly listening to Frankie and Santiago argue about what they were doing.
“How the hell do you start this thing?” Frankie asked.
“It’s a push start…I think. Yeah…that button right there.” The car started and you laughed loudly. Both men looked back at you.
“Why do you have to drive such a fancy piece of shit?” Frankie complained.
“Oxymoron!” you exclaimed. “I think…”
“We taking her home?” Pope asked.
“I don’t know where she lives.” After some contemplation, Frankie spoke again. “She can, uh, she can stay with me. I got that empty room…”
You couldn’t keep your eyes open after that and gave into sleep.
You opened your eyes when you felt yourself being pulled then lifted. “Santiago?”
“It’s me. It’s Frankie.”
“Oh. You smell good.” You buried your face in his shirt as he carried you. “Are we home?”
“We’re at my place.” He struggled with getting his keys out and unlocking the door but refused to put you down.
“Why?” You suddenly remembered what happened the last time you were at his house years ago. You weren’t drunk though and there were a lot less clothes involved.
“You need to sleep this off. You can go home in the morning.” Once inside, Frankie carried you to the end of the hall and pushed the door open with his foot. “Here.” He laid you down and you held onto his hand.
“Are you gonna lay with me, Frankie?” He was tempted. God, was he tempted, but he shook his head and stood up straight.
“Not like this,” he said quietly. He covered you with a blanket and kissed your forehead. You reached up and scratched at his scruff. His eyes closed but he reluctantly pulled himself away. “Goodnight.” He waited until you fell asleep again before walking out of the room, leaving the door cracked just a bit. His dreams would be full of you tonight though he knew you wouldn’t dream of him.
But you did.

The Helpful Elf
Tumblr media
Summary: The Hippity Hop Cat toy is the toy on every kid’s wish list this year, including Eri’s. With the toy flying off the shelves, you desperately ask Mirio, the Helper Elf at Hazuki’s ToyLand, for help. And Mirio doesn’t give up, especially when it comes to you.
Author’s Note: Hello everyone!!! Real life is being a pain right now, but I’m so glad I managed to finish this story right on time! It’s pretty long (for me lol) and it’s my first with Mirio so yay!! I also wrote it for the BNHASanctuary discord server’s winter collab (first time I ever participated in any collab), so I’m very excited about this. I’ll link and share the masterlist once it’s up. I can’t wait to read everyone else’s stories :D
Please enjoy!

With October long gone and December in full swing, it meant one thing—the official start of the jubilant holiday season. Every year, Japan’s most iconic department store in Tokyo, Hazuki’s, transformed its ten floors into a magical winter wonderland. Around the country and around the globe, customers ushered through the doors to catch a glimpse of the glamorous store glittering with festive decor.
Dazzling lights twinkled around the window displays that stretched around the block. Vibrant ornaments hung high above the ceilings like luxurious bubbles. And pine garlands peppered with red berries wrapped themselves along any rails that ran off forever.
Hazuki’s was the place to kick start the holiday season and the one place to find everything and anything on one’s holiday shopping list. Especially the highly coveted toy of the year—the Hippity Hop Cat.
Or so you thought.
“Mirio!”
“Huh?” Said man’s elf hat jingled when he looked away from his display. His blue eyes beamed at the sight of you. Mirio chirped out your name as you rushed forward, nearly knocking him over. “Whoa, you alright?”
“I need your help,” you blurted out, catching your breath at the same time; those pesky escalators were no use at all. Mirio offered to get water, but you waved him off. “No, no…no time for water. I need your help. It’s urgent!”
“Uh, sure, what can I do?”
“I need a toy, but not just any toy.” Mirio blinked when you suddenly inched closer to him. You scanned the area as though someone was lurking around to eavesdrop on your top-secret conversation. “It’s the Hippity Hop Cat, you know—”
“The cat whose hops are out of this world?”
“Yes, that one!” You clung to his shoulders like a desperate parent trying to find some shred of sanity in this chaotic store. Shaking the blonde man, you begged, “Please tell me you have one in stock?”
“Oh man,” Mirio scratched his forehead as he recalled the inventory from this morning. He glanced at your hopeless eyes and tight fists curling on his work uniform. There was no way Mirio could leave you hanging like this; it didn’t feel right. So he flashed you his famous smile that outshone the star twirling above you both. “Come with me. I’ll check in our system.”
“Gosh, you’re a lifesaver.”
Mirio humbly rubbed his neck as he led the way to the backroom. You eyed the uproarious floor covered with thousands of toys that rivaled Santa’s Workshop in the North Pole. It was like walking through a child’s dream. Every toy imaginable—dolls, electric cars, robots, board games, you name it—was here. Hopefully, that stayed true with the Hippity Hop Cat.
The door closed, muffling the sounds of frantic parents buzzing through the aisle. Mirio typed away on the keyboard as you paced behind him. You cursed yourself for procrastinating this long to buy the prized toy. Christmas was in less than two weeks!
“So who’s the gift for?”
“Oh!” His deep voice pulled you back to the present. You walked forward with folded arms, anxiously hugging yourself. “It’s for Eri, a sweet little girl my next-door neighbor, Shouta, adopted earlier this year. She had a rough upbringing, but fortunately, she’s living with someone who cares for her deeply.”
“I’m glad to hear that.”
“Yeah,” you smiled softly at Mirio, making his fingers freeze above the keyboard. That smile of yours took his breath away; he nodded but secretly tried controlling his heart that beat like a bass drum. It was difficult since you were so close to him. “This will be Eri’s first Christmas, and she wants the Hippity Hop Cat; I told Shouta I would buy it for her, helping ease some pressure off his shoulders.”
“That’s really thoughtful of you.” Mirio admired everything about you. He was absolutely smitten with you ever since you started working in the perfume department. Mirio sometimes strolled through the floor during his breaks just to catch a glimpse of you. After scrolling through the computer, the blonde man frowned. “Hmm…looks like we’re out of stock. And the next shipment won’t come until the twenty-first.”
You groaned. “Man, that’s cutting it close; you think you can hold one for me? I can buy it during my break or after work.”
“I’ll try my best.”
“Thanks, Mirio.” You squeezed his shoulder, and he shuddered at the touch. Glancing at your watch, you said, “I gotta go before Nemuri wonders where I am. But thanks for helping out!”
“Sure!” He saw you slip out the door in a hurry; you throw an apologetic smile for good measure. Pushing the elf hat further up, Mirio chuckled, “No problem.”
༛༛ ༛ ༛༺༻༛ ༛ ༛༛
Okay, so maybe there was a slight problem.
Santa Claus was still around town, and Mirio was placed on “elf duty” to help out with the pictures. Don’t get him wrong, the sunshine man adored children as much as the jolly old man who lived in the North Pole. However, Mirio realized he couldn’t guard the Hippity Hop Cat for you. All he could do was pray that one miraculously stayed on the shelf until you bought it.
A flash went off, snapping Mirio back to his job. He smiled brightly, guiding the kid off Santa’s lap and ushering the next one to the chair. Nearly every parent in Japan was here today, the line looping around the store. Other customers, not visiting Santa, shopped as well, making the place extra crowded today. Yet, none of them were you, and that worried Mirio.
“Ho, ho, ho, it was nice meeting you, sweetie!”
Oh right! Mirio needed to focus, but it was hard knowing you weren’t here yet. All Mirio wanted to do was make people happy, especially you. After the sweet story you shared with him, he was more determined than ever to get you that toy. His blue eyes glanced at the bearded man in the red coat—could he help? Who knows.
As Mirio waved goodbye to each kid, you stumbled off the escalator, face flushed as though you ran fifty flights of stairs. You glanced around the packed floor, dodging an airplane that whizzed by and brushing against the sea of customers to find Mirio. The blonde elf locked eyes with you and flashed a relieved grin; the grueling wait was over.
And so was his duty with Santa Claus, what luck! Mirio marched over to you, placing a gentle hand on your back and guiding you to the aisle. “I was worried you wouldn’t come.”
“I’m sorry,” you blurted out, narrowly avoiding getting hit by a robot’s arm. “The perfume department was swamped with tourists and other people. I practically had to beg Nemuri to let me slip away for a few minutes so I could buy—” Turning the corner, you gasped in disbelief at the empty shelves before choking out, “—the toy.”
Mirio blew a low whistle; people were snatching these toys off the shelves like no tomorrow. Still, he wouldn’t give up just yet. “C’mon, maybe there’s some left in stock.”
“You sure?”
“Can’t hurt to try, right?” Mirio flashed you a boyish smile, blue eyes brimming with determination. You nodded and followed him through the elaborate maze of this chaotic toy store.
However, just as you both passed by the cash register, someone bellowed out: “That’s the last Hippity Hop Cat, sir. Thank you for shopping at Toyland; have a nice day!”
No! You screeched to a halt. Your eyes watched as the man grabbed his bag and left the store with an exhausted but relieved face. Without thinking, you slammed against the counter, scaring the young green-haired employee who clutched his uniform. Leaning forward, you desperately half-whispered, “Please tell me what you said wasn’t true!”
“I-I’m sorry?”
“The toy!” You frantically gestured to the exit, the man now long gone. “Please tell me you have another Hippity Hop Cat for sale!”
“U-Um, I, uhh, well,” Midoriya stammered until his eyes spotted a familiar face behind you. The nervous man sighed in relief, knowing he was saved. “Mirio!”
“Hey, Izuku, sorry about that,” Mirio bashfully chuckled and clasped your shoulder to calm you down. The blonde man quickly introduced you to his co-worker, adding, “They’re trying to buy the Hippity Hop Cat, but are you sure that was the last one in stock?”
“Yeah, it was. I’m sorry.”
“Oh…oh, okay…” Your shoulders drooped like a sad puppy; you were too late. After saying a quick apology, you numbly dragged your feet toward the exit as a gray cloud formed over your head. A warm hand stopped you from going any further, and you blinked up. “Huh, Mirio, what’s wrong?”
“You alright?”
“Oh, yeah, yeah,” you dismissed his concerns, but he wasn’t convinced; your eyes told a different story. Still, you mustered a brave face with a faint smile. “Listen, I appreciate everything you did. I knew it was a longshot getting the toy, so don’t sweat it, really.”
“I know, I just,” he sucked in a breath, “I just wished I could have helped you out more. Especially since you wanted to make Eri happy.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll get her something else.” You squeezed his bicep when Mirio opened his mouth to interject; he faltered slightly at the brief touch. “It’s fine, really. I’m sure Eri will love any toy for her gift; I promise.”
Mirio nodded, watching you leave the store and disappearing within the crowd. You said everything was fine, but he knew that wasn’t true. That fake smile of yours spoke volumes. There has to be a way to get that toy, Mirio pondered, rubbing his chin and staring at the floor with furrowed eyes.
Suddenly, an idea popped inside his head just as a jingle bell chimed behind him. A white smile stretched across Mirio’s face. The idea was crazy, maybe a longshot, too, but it wouldn’t hurt to try. Mirio whipped out his phone and searched through his contacts until he landed on a specific name.
The line started ringing...and ringing...and ringing when—
“H-Hi, Mirio.”
“Hey, Tamaki!” The blonde man beamed like the sun. He lowered his voice, cupping the phone for secrecy while walking away. “Listen, buddy. I know you’re busy and all, but I got a huge favor to ask…”
༛༛ ༛ ༛༺༻༛ ༛ ༛༛
“…you think you can do it?” A small puff of breath floated out of your lips as you stepped away from the revolving doors. You stood beside a colorful window display of tiny elves grinning from ear to ear, their eager hands holding toys for the good boys and girls. One elf balanced himself at the tippy top of Santa’s mountainous red bag, his green gloves clutching the pointy hat for dear life.
You smiled, appreciating the creative design before saying, “I can close the following week...yeah...okay, awesome, thanks again!”
Crisis one averted. Crisis two was up for debate, mainly because you held a shopping bag with Eri’s gift. It wasn’t the Hippity Hop Cat, but a nice small plushy cat toy instead. You bought it just a few minutes ago after wandering through the aisles at Toyland. The plushy cat toy wasn’t a bad second choice; it was adorable and incredibly soft to the touch. But it wasn’t the toy you wanted to give for Eri’s first Christmas.
Oh, well, you sadly thought, biting the inside of your cheek. You stared at the elves again, realizing that their costumes matched Mirio’s work uniform in Toyland, down to the funny little hat. Mirio somehow pulled it off well thanks to his bubbly personality and warm heart that could melt the North Pole's snow.
At one point, you wondered if Mirio was even there since you didn’t see him at the store today. You assumed he was doing inventory, but Midoriya said Mirio took the day off after a last-minute “personal obligation” came up, and it was too important to ignore. Must have been serious, you sighed as the shopping bag rustled against the wind.
You braced your coat, hissing as the cold air sliced across your cheeks. Yup, it was time to go unless you wanted to freeze out here. Shuffling away from the window display, you stopped when someone screamed your name. Glancing over, you saw Mirio running toward you with one arm waving high in the air.
“Hey!” Mirio finally caught up to you, his face flushed and nose redder than Rudolph’s, yet he kept on smiling. “So glad I found you!”
“Whoa, you alright?” Now it was your turn to be concerned, just like he was when you rushed into the store to ask about the Hippity Hop Cat toy. Mirio nodded enthusiastically, squashing your worries away. “Midoriya said you were busy with a ‘personal obligation’ today. Is everything okay?”
“Oh yeah, everything is great!”
“Well, that’s, um, great.”
“So, listen, about the Hippity Hop Cat toy—”
“Mirio, I told you not to worry about it,” you butted in, shaking your shopping bag with the plushy cat. “I went ahead and bought something else for Eri and—”
“Ta-da!”
You went radio silent, staring in disbelief at the surprise. Sitting in Mirio’s hands was the one and only Hippity Hop Cat toy. The number one toy that was on every kid’s wish list, yet rarer to get than Willy Wonka’s Golden ticket. That toy was now only a few inches away from you.
“B-But how?!” The words finally fumbled through your lips, flickering your gaze between the toy and Mirio while stumbling forward a bit. “It’s sold out everywhere!”
“Let’s just say I pulled some strings with Santa’s workshop,” Mirio cheekily grinned like one of the elves from the window display. You choked out a laugh, dropping the shopping bag so you could hold the boxed toy; it felt wonderful in your hands.
You looked up with eyes softer than freshly fallen snow. Mirio continued talking up a storm, his arms flailing wildly like an excited kid who discovered something new. The delicate holiday lights flickered around you both, casting a lovely glow that was as bright as the joy twinkling inside Mirio’s eyes.
They were always so welcoming that, without thinking, you gave him a crushing hug. Mirio froze, his arms hanging mid-air as he slowly processed what was happening. After a few seconds, his shoulders relaxed, and his strong arms eagerly wrapped around you, holding you in place. Even with that thick coat of yours, you felt very soft that his heart soared to new heights.
“Thank you, Mirio,” you whispered near his ear, giving him another squeeze. But you didn’t stop there. A sudden urge came over you, and in a bold move, you planted a sweet kiss on his cheek. Pulling away, you bit back a laugh at his flustered face. “You really are the best Helpful Elf I know.”
“Well, you know me,” he shot you a grin, “I’m always here to help.”
“Is that so?” You tapped your cheek with your gloved finger. “Think you can help me gift wrap this toy, say tonight at my place?”
“Luckily for you, I’m a whiz with wrapping paper.”
Mirio’s hand wormed its way into yours, giving you a loving squeeze before joining you on your long walk home. The Hippity Hop Cat toy was the toy on every kid’s wish list this year, including Eri’s, whose first Christmas was officially saved. And it was all thanks to Mirio, the one and only Helpful Elf at Hazuki’s Toyland.

 Glass/Royalty AU
Once upon a time, there was a Princess. If there was one thing Princess Olivier Mira Armstrong hated, it was pointless balls. She sighed as she sat on her throne and looked out over the gathered crowd standing around in all their finery. Some were dancing, others eating, and just about all of them were looking for ways to improve their standing both with the court and with each other. And every available young man was looking for a way to get her attention.
She snorted derisively. If her father thought that throwing a ball and inviting every eligible young man in the kingdom was going to get her married off, then he was sorely mistaken. This was nothing more than a waste of everyone’s time. She didn’t even know why he was so hung up on her getting married. She had four other siblings to provide heirs for the throne. She’d just pick one of them when the time came.
“Olivier, dear, why don’t you go down and dance with some of your guests.”
Her father’s voice came from beside her, and she glanced over at him. He was sitting majestically on his throne and eyeing a particular group of men. Olivier followed his gaze and blanched. None of those spinless weaklings were her idea of a good man.
“They aren’t my guests at all, Father,” she replied. “You invited them here.”
“Hm, so I did,” he said, stroking his beard.
“But they all came for you,” her mother put in from the other side of her father. “You should at least have the grace to go walk among them and dance with a few of them. There are some smart matches down there.”
Olivier followed her mother’s gaze to a different group of men. They were worse than the other group.
“…you aren’t going to leave me alone until I do, are you?” Olivier asked bluntly.
Her mother looked over at her, a bit of twinkle in her eye. “Not in the least.”
Olivier sighed once again. “Fine. Miles!”
Miles appeared next to her, and Olivier heard her mother sigh. Olivier paid it no mind. They had told her she could pick her own attendant, and so pick him she had. Miles was a married man with two daughters, and loyal to a fault. Olivier knew he was trustworthy, even if her parents had been a bit skeptical.
“Olivier, how are you supposed to catch the eye of a man if you’ve always got your attendant with you?” her mother asked.
Olivier was already standing and attaching her sword to her side. “Mother, if they’re not paying attention to me by now, considering you two set this up specifically so I’d be the center of attention, then they’re obviously not interested.”
Her mother sighed, but Olivier paid it no mind. Instead, she left the dais and headed down the stairs to the floor, Miles right beside her.
“Miles, pick me the least obnoxious ones, please.”
“I’ll do my best, Princess.”
The next hour was spent dancing with man after man. Miles did a good job picking them out. They weren’t bad men—or they wouldn’t be with a few more years on them—but they definitely didn’t catch her interest. They were either, too conniving, too awestruck, or too spinless. Finally, she signaled to Miles that she needed a break, and he nodded. She walked away to the gardens, ignoring the guards that were there, and took a breath of fresh air.
And that was when she realized that she wasn’t alone.
Her head whipped quickly towards the intruder, and her hand rested on the pommel of her sword. But the other person didn’t advance on her, just held up his hands, showing he wasn’t armed.
“Hey, woah, it’s okay, I’m sorry!” the man said. “I didn’t mean to startle you.” He stepped out of the shadows. “I’m just a regular guy, see? Not a bear.”
Olivier looked him over. He was quite large, with a black mohawk and a thin mustache. What really caught her eye, though, was his hand. It appeared to be made of… glass?
“Who are you?” she demanded of him, not having drawn her sword, but still prepared to. “And why would you say you’re not a bear?”
“Oh, uh, well, you see, people tend to think I’m a bear a lot,” he said. “I’m not sure why, exactly, but it does come in handy most of the time.” He grinned. “Or at least, I think it does.”
Olivier relaxed a little. It appeared that this man was just a guest. And honestly, an amusing one so far. “I can see where that would be useful. Do you mind if I stay out here?”
“No, Princess,” he said. “Its your palace, your gardens.”
She hummed at that. He was right, of course, but she really had just wanted to make sure he wasn’t going to go running off inside and tell everyone where she was. Miles was only one man, after all. He could only hold back so many people from disturbing her.
She leaned on a railing and eyed the man out of the corner of her eye. He seemed to be content just to be here. “Is your hand made of glass?”
The man looked down at it. “Whole arm, actually. I’m not sure how it works, but that strange man gave it to me, and it’s been functional.”
Olivier raised an eyebrow. “Strange man?”
The man nodded. “Yeah. Wore really tacky and loud shirts. He said my other arm was too greasy and needed too many repairs, so he gave me this one for the night.” The man shrugged. “I don’t think it’d be much good in a fight, but it lets me eat, at least.”
Olivier turned more towards him, looking him up and down and evaluating the man. “…would you like to find out?” she asked, her finger tapping the pommel of her sword.
He apparently didn’t miss that, and his eyes lit up. “I’d love to test it. Are you sure you’re able to, Princess?”
She drew her sword and got into a stance. “The Armstrong royalty has trained in the art of self-defense for generations. If I can’t fight in a ballgown, then I’m no good to anyone.”
The man grinned and dropped into a stance of his own. “I can’t say I’ve done much fighting in clothes like these, but this should be fun.”
“Prepare yourself,” Olivier said, and that was all the warning she gave before she was charging at him.
The man was quicker than he looked, and he dodged to the side, narrowly missing her blade. He reached out to grab at her, and she spun away, hair and skirt flaring out. She wasted no movement, and charged at him again, aiming for that arm of his. This time, he raised it, and caught a glancing blow from her blade, letting it slide off. He pushed her off of him, and she paused for a moment. The man looked at his arm and grinned. Olivier figured that it must still be in good shape, and so she charged again. This time, he used the arm to block a direct blow, and when the glass appendage held up, he grinned more.
They continued this back and forth fighting dance, until the bells rang, and he turned, startled, just as her blade came down on his shoulder. He let out a bit of a pained sound then, and Olivier saw his arm suddenly sinking lower. The man cursed as his glass arm slid out of his sleeve. Olivier darted forward to catch it.
“Sorry,” he said, “Its been fun, but I gotta go.”
“Wait—you what?” Olivier said.
“Gotta run!” he said. “Thanks for the fight, Princess!”
The man was already moving away, heading through the gardens at a breakneck speed.
“Wait—your arm!”
“Keep it!” came the call.
“What was your name!”
There was no answer.
“Stop! What was your name! Come back here!”
But he was either too far away or was ignoring her commands. Either way, Olivier didn’t like it. Miles, who had been watching them, came out at her raised voice.
“Princess?”
“I want the man this arm belongs to, Miles,” she growled out. “I want to find him.”
Miles, for his part, didn’t even blink at the fact she was holding a working glass arm and that there was an armless man running around somewhere. He just responded “Yes, Princess,” and set to work.
It turned out that finding a one-armed man wasn’t that hard to do. However, finding a particular one-armed man was a lot harder. Olivier, Miles, and an unfortunately conspicuous royal entourage had made their way to every province, city, and town in the country with no luck. Olivier found herself getting more and more frustrated with each failure. How hard was it to find a big man with a black mohawk who was missing an arm?
Well, it didn’t help that many men who were missing arms dyed and cut their hair. Or that more than a few people tried faking having a metal arm.
The house they were rolling up on had to be the last house that existed, and as the carriage rolled up, several men stepped out. None of them, she noticed, were missing an arm. Still, they had the general look of the man, so she got out to ask them some questions. They bowed to her, and one made the offer of tea, but Olivier was in no mood.
“Tell me—is this everyone from your household?”
“Yes,” one replied. “This should be all of us.”
“And you’re sure there’s no one more?”
“Not in our house, your majesty.”
Something seemed off, and she narrowed her eyes. “You’re positive?”
There was an exchange of looks between some of the younger ones. Olivier rested her hand on her sword. “Well?” she demanded.
“…What’s going on?”
There was a new voice coming from the forest, and the entire party turned to see who it was. He was carrying a load of firewood, but the man was large, with a black mohawk, and a metal arm. And, Oliver was pretty sure she heard one of the guards that road with them flinch back and say something about a bear.
“You,” Olivier said. “You have a metal arm, correct?”
The man looked at them. “Yeah, up to the shoulder.”
“Your right arm?”
“Yes, Princess.”
“Take it off.”
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me. Take it off.” She nodded to Miles, and he gestured for two of the other attendants to pull the glass arm from the carriage. “I want you to try this one on.”
The man blinked at her, and then grinned. “Alright,” he said, dropping his load of firewood. He reached up and took off his shirt, first, revealing all of his arm, and then pressed the releases that would detach his metal arm. Instead of falling to the ground with a clunk, he was fast enough to reach out and grab it before it hit the ground. He sat it on the dropped wood, and allowed the attendants to come closer and put the arm in. It clicked in, fitting perfectly, and he flexed it around. No one had even been able to get it to fit before now.
“Huh. It still works. I had wondered.”
“You’re the one from the ball. The one who fought with me.” Olivier said.
The man grinned. “Yes, Princess. I didn’t think you’d have this much interest in a handy man like me.”
“What’s your name?” she asked him.
“They call me Buccaneer.”
Olivier glanced at the house, the grounds, and the other men standing there. “Then, Buccaneer, how would you like to come back to the palace with me and become my husband?”
Buccaneer grinned again and reached out with his glass arm to take her hand and kiss it. “Princess, it would be my honor.
Olivier smiled back at him. “Good.”
And they lived happily ever after.

Part 1 | PART 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8
Pairing: Arthur Morgan x Reader
Word count: 2.8k
Warnings: Swearing, Mention of death, Mourning
Summary: You never thought you’d love again. Then Arthur Morgan came into town. Fate continuously has you meeting each other in odd ways, and a troubled past is something you are both familiar with. Perhaps that’s what will make this time different.
Notes: A MASSIVE THANK YOU to @morgans-whore for helping me out with this!!! If you haven’t read their work, please do so immediately.
------
Worth’s General store was a large building at the end of the Main Street. Although obviously aging, Jacob Worth did his best to maintain the store as much as possible, and keep it as well stocked as he could for the citizens of Valentine. The store was small and dark, despite the bright day outside, but stocked to the brim with goods both local and exotic.
You stepped over the familiar threshold, and were immediately greeted by the friendly voice of Jacob, “Good morning!” You greeted him with a nod and a smile, moving to the left so that the excited child behind you could dart inside.
Ben immediately dashed to the small candy display near the register, bouncing up and down in excitement. His curls bounced with him while he looked at the selection with a grin that reminded you so much of his father. Small, dirty hands grabbed for a bar of chocolate and a bag of hard candies, holding them up to his face for closer examination.
“Are you looking for anything in particular today? We just got in some more of that coffee from Guarma that I know you’re fond of,” Jacob continued, standing behind the counter and keeping his eyes on your son. He indicated to a shelf behind him, with a sign bosting “Fresh Guarman Coffee! $1 per pound!”.
You smiled at him. “Thank you, Jacob, but we’re only here for picnic supplies today. I’ll come back later in the week to pick up more coffee and dry goods, if you could please hold some for me?” Jacob was a nice man, if a bit lonely of late. He had been very close to your husband, and made sure to take good care of you and Ben in recent years.
He nodded, grabbing one of the heavy bags off the shelf and putting it to the side behind the counter. “Of course, happy to,” he wrote your name on a slip of paper and put it on top of the bag. When he stood up, he brushed his fingers off on his apron, and then rose his hands to comb through his unkempt beard. “You going over to see Andrew today?”
With a bittersweet smile, you nodded in affirmation. “Yes, it’s been a while since we’ve gone over there. And since the weather is nice today, we thought we would have a picnic,” you explained, walking over to your son and ruffling his curly hair.  “Isn’t that right, Ben?”
“Yep!” he exclaimed, still mostly focused on the candy in his hands. “And Mama said I could pick out a candy for today, right Mama?” He looked up at you, eyes wide with excitement, reminding you all the more of Andrew.
You couldn’t hold back the loving smile that lit up your face when he looked at you. The five years since Ben had been born had been tough, no doubt, but seeing the boy grow up was worth more than the world. He was becoming more and more like his pa as he got older, earning you a small, bittersweet ache in your heart every time you noticed the similarity.
Raising Ben together with Andrew on the little ranch outside of town had been your plan. The two of you had looked so forward to teaching him to care for animals, to giving him more siblings to play with, to raising him into the brilliant young man that he was indeed becoming. Unfortunately, fate had had other ideas. Only one of those wishes was coming to fruition, and you were forced to watch him grow up alone.
You had grown up in a small town on the eastern edge of New Austin, helping your parents in the saloon and restaurant they had owned, and sadly knew next to nothing about ranching. Andrew, on the other hand, was born on a small ranch just outside of town, and had practically been taking care of animals since he could walk. Sadly, Andrew had passed only a few months after Ben was born, and never got a chance to teach him anything or give him any siblings.
Ben’s determined decision brought you out of your bittersweet reverie. “I think I want chocolate today,” he said, before placing the small bag of hard candies back on the counter. “I like when it gets all melty when it’s hot. Then I can just lick it off the package and I don’t even gotta chew.” His rambling made both you and Jacob chuckle.
You went back to browsing the shelves, picking up a few apples and peaches, and asking Jacob for loaf of bread, dried beef, and some cheese. As a special treat for you and your son later, you picked up some assorted biscuits as well. The last things on your list were a small bottle of wine for yourself and a bottle of milk for Ben… who was now hiding something behind his back.
He had a shameful smile on his face, and was rocking back and forth from his heels to his tippy-toes. Behind him was an obviously empty space on the shelf where peppermint candies usually sat. He could have only been more obvious if he were whistling. The boy really was a horrible thief.
“Ben, sweetheart, put that down please,” you lightly scolded, getting ready to bring out your stern mother voice if need be. “You’ve got a chocolate bar for later, you don’t need more candy.”
Then again, there is no reasoning with a child. “But Papa’s favorite is peppermints. I wanna get some candy for him,” he says, eyes going wide and shining with definitely-fake tears. He brought the red and white striped package out from behind his back and showed it to you, eyes as wide and innocent as a puppy.
“Honey…” you rubbed the bridge of your nose as you spoke, and closed your eyes, torn between holding your ground and giving into the puppy-dog eyes.
“Please mama?” There it was, the lip tremble. This kid had you wrapped around his tiny little finger. “Please? They’re his favorite. I’ll leave the chocolate if I gotta.” And the cincher. He had to have known what he was doing, offering to put back his own treat to get peppermints for someone who couldn’t even enjoy them? He was a literal angel.
An angel you could simply not say no to.
“Oh, alright, you. Those puppy dog eyes are merciless, you know?” you concede, not hearing the door open behind you and the heavy footsteps coming your way.
The boy jumped in excitement, his curly hair bouncing with him, and ran up to the register to show his purchase to Jacob. You follow suit, pulling a few bills out from under the blanket in the basket and handing it to your friend across the counter.
“Peppermints AND chocolate?” came a husky voice from behind you. “You really must be worth more than I could afford.” You recognised the sound almost immediately, and turned to face the man from the night before. He was again standing casually, observing the scene before him with his fingers looped in his belt, and smiling softly at your son.
Seeing him again so soon made you smile. Last night may have been short, and may have amounted to nothing in the end, but flirting with him had certainly been fun. “Well, hello again Mountain Man,” you responded, teasing him with the nickname Anastasia had unintentionally bestowed on him the previous evening and making no pretense of hiding the fact that you were running your gaze up his body. Although he was wearing the same clothes as the evening before, and was significantly dirtier than you remembered him being before you left, he looked even more handsome in the light of day. “That’s certainly true, but maybe we can negotiate the price over a drink sometime?”
His soft smile that had been reserved for your son turned into an impressed smirk as his gaze drifted to you. “‘d be happy to,” he responded.
You glanced down at your son, who was still pre-occupied with the peppermints, and decided to forgo any further suggestive talk while he was with you. Which, unfortunately, meant that you weren’t entirely sure what to say next. “Well,” you managed, clearing your throat and turning to pick up the full picnic basket from the counter. “I certainly didn’t think I’d see you in the general store. Don’t you mountain men hunt all of your own food?”
Arthur barked out a laugh, throwing his head back with it. You were surprised about how attractive it was. “Shoa, if I weren’t such a bad shot, maybe,” he retorted, looking back at you. “‘m headin’ out for a bounty. Just need t’ stock up on some supplies before I leave.”
“Bounty?” That certainly surprised you. Though, now that you’ve had a better look at him, you supposed that he could be a bounty hunter. He did have multiple pistols in holsters at his hips and a couple of repeaters strapped to his back. Not to mention the fact that he could probably wrestle anyone to the ground with his bare hands alone.
“Yeah, some snake-oil salesman been pawning off poison to women with sick husbands,” he explained nonchalantly, pulling his hands from his belt and walking in your direction.
“Ah…” you drew in a sharp breath as he came closer to you, backing you up until you were nearly touching the shelves against the wall. Your heart was pounding in your ears, what was he playing at? He kept his eyes on yours the whole time, the same predatory look in them that you noticed last night, and you would have panicked if it weren’t for the mirth in them as well. Somehow, you could tell he wouldn’t hurt you. This was just a part of the game.
Without a word, and keeping his eyes locked with yours, he reached behind you and pulled a box of shotgun shells off the shelf.
When he had what he wanted, that stupid attractive smirk returned to his face and he stepped back, giving you room to breathe. “S’posed to be camped out by Cumberland Falls. Shouldn’t take long, if ya’d want to join me for that drink afterwards,” he explained, finally breaking his gaze from you and heading to the other side of the room to the display housing basic tonics.
Now that he wasn’t so close, now that he wasn’t looking at you like he wanted to eat you alive, you could finally let out the breath that you had apparently been holding. “I… I’m a bit busy today, I’m afraid,” you managed, holding up the basket full of picnic foods for him to see. Your heart was pounding, and it was certainly not from fear. You only hoped he wasn’t able to tell.
Completely oblivious to the situation before him, Ben strolled over to you from the cash register, where he had been chattering on to Jacob. “Yeah, we are going to see Papa!” he told Arthur excitedly. “We even got him candies!”
Your eyes snapped to your son at the sound of his voice, only to see him standing beside you with an opened bag of peppermints, one already in his mouth. Faking offense, you bent down to your son’s height and took the peppermint bag from him. “You said those were for papa, you little thief,” you teased, slipping the bag into your basket before reaching out to Ben’s sides.
The boy knew what was coming, and was preemptively laughing and trying to escape you. “He doesn’t mind sharing!” he giggled, backing away from you with a grin.
You narrowed your eyes playfully at the child. “Oh, sure he doesn’t,” you taunted before going in for the kill, “you sneak!” With that, you drew Ben toward you and began attacking him with tickles. Ben’s shrieks of laughter filled the room as the two men watched on with smiles on their faces.
“Mama, no!” shrieked Ben through his laughter. “No tickling! No tickling! Let’s go see Papa!” His laughter died down as you stopped tickling him and released him from your hold. He was breathless and grinning from ear to ear, eyes shining with glee. You simply adored him.
“Alright alright, let’s go, my little thief,” you said, giving him a purposefully loud, wet kiss on his cheek, which he proceeded to wipe off dramatically. He then dashed to the door, careful to keep out of arms’ reach, lest you try to catch him again. You followed him with a smile, stopping briefly at the door to say goodbye.
“Anyway, it was nice seeing you again, Mountain Man,” you said, turning to Arthur with a small wave of your left hand, the light glinting off your worn wedding ring.
He cleared his throat and tipped his hat as you turned back around to follow Ben. “Ma’am,” was his simple farewell, and if you had glanced back, you would have seen his eyes, focused on the ring on your finger in disappointment.
The cemetery, much like everything else in the small town, was just down the street from the general store. Ben ran slightly ahead of you, still within eyesight, the bag of peppermints once again held tightly in his tiny hand. You waved and said hello to the few people that you passed as you walked the short street, but all-in-all it took no time to get to where you needed to go.
Andrew was buried next to his parents, and you knew the space like the back of your hand. The grave was starting to age, but was generally well kept by both the town minister and yourself. It was situated toward the back of the cemetery, under a tree and away from the road - an ironically beautiful spot for a picnic. Andrew would have loved it.
Just an hour after leaving the general store, you sat atop your picnic blanket, a worn blue and white quilt sewn by yourself and your late mother-in-law during the early days of your marriage, under the shade of the large tree with a book in hand. The half-eaten loaf of bread, leftover cheese, and beef were packed neatly back into the picnic basket, leaving you and Ben plenty of space to lounge.
Peppermints had been scattered over the blanket and beside the grave itself, as Ben played with a wooden horse on top of the weathered stone. He spoke quietly, voice still full of excitement, to his father’s and grandparents’ graves as he played. The book you were holding, a cheap romance novel that you had borrowed from Margaret a few weeks prior, didn’t manage to hold your interest, and you were lost in thought.
About Andrew. About the past. About what could have been.
Andrew had been beyond excited for your pregnancy, even going as far as building a small nursery onto the small house once he had inherited it from his parents. It had been a hard time for him, torn between the sadness of losing his parents to cholera not a year prior and the excitement of bringing a child into the world with the woman he loved. Thankfully, the entire town had been there to support him: his friends stopped by whenever they could, the Downes next door helped out on the ranch when they got a chance, Ms. Chadwick had even taken to stopping by on a weekly basis to help you during the pregnancy.
It had all gone surprisingly smoothly, and a little over a year after his grandparents’ passing, little Ben was safely brought into the world. The first few months were an exhausted dream, taking care of a child, your child, together. Waking up at dawn to feed Ben and make coffee for Andrew before he went out to take care of the animals. Days spent feeding and playing with your son, working as much as you could, and waiting for Andrew to take a break so you could coo over the little one together. Nights spent cuddled together, looking adoringly at the face of the perfect child that the two of you had brought into this world.
It was so wonderful, and so tragically short-lived, that you sometimes weren’t sure if it hadn’t all been a dream.
But then you remember Ben, so much like his father in so many ways, and the bittersweet memory of that time solidifies in your mind. It was no dream. It was short-lived, exhausting, and too perfect to last. Andrew was gone, but he still lived on in your son, and you wouldn’t trade him for the world.
An excited squeal from the boy brought you back to the present, and you turned to watch him race his wooden horse across the headstones decorated with your family’s names. Not far away, Arthur was also alerted by the sudden shrill noise. Watching the two of you, as he stood by his horse and covered with grime, sweat, and dirt, he smiled.
