Streamer MC headcannons with the brothers 💞
"You were quite a known face on social media back in the human realm, playing games, doing unboxings, just vibin in general, fans around the globe looked forward to your streams a lot! However, considering the sudden (unannounced) invitation to the exchange program, you had to leave all of that behind out of the blue. It wasn't as bad at first, but you have to admit you do miss the feeling of being able to do goofy shit online. Luckily for you, with the advance technology of Devildom and some spicy magic, the internet had synced with the human realm, and thats when you decided to finally re-enter the streaming scene. How will the brothers react upon seeing your peculiar past time?"
Head empty, No thoughts aside from the brothers just bothering the MC while they stream so here you go haha
Warnings: None, just crackhead energy and a lotta mispellings
Gender: Neutral!
Hotel: Trivago
* [ ಠ╭╮ಠ ] Lucifer *
{How did he know about your career?}
I honestly don't see him as someone who goes on the internet a lot
(He screams boomer to me, change my mind)
He doesn't have the time either, he's too focused on work!
So him finding out is gonna take a while
But! He did find out the hard way when shrilled screaming was heard from your room when he was passing by with some paper stacks in his arms (courtesy of Diavolo)
This man felt his instincts kick in, he ran as fast as he could, papers forgotten, and he immediately slammed your door open. Splinters scattering around, your door definitely damaged, as his eyes held a glare and his demon form was out, wings spread in a threatening display.
He was ready to beat someone's ass as he had thought someone had hurt you in here.
But all hes met with is you, infront of your chair and PC, and a game over on the screen...
To say he was unamused was an understatement cause you just lost your internet priviliges for giving him a heart attack (He said it was because you were being rowdy and noisy but with what you saw you knew that wasn't the case)
Good luck tryna puppy-eye your way to his heart to let you continue streaming lol.
If by some miracle you managed to wriggle your rights back from his hands, he'd warn you not to be so loud next time.
You already learnt your lesson though~ (Hopefully)
{How does he feel about your streams?}
Not everyone's the same, so if you were the shy soft streamer who does more art streams or something akin to a podcast, you can bet that Lucifer will be putting you on while he works, he kinda knows your streaming schedule at this point and if you were running late, he'd force one of his brothers to take over your dish washing duties or any chores you were stuck with
If you were the loud obnoxious meme type, hed still try to watch out of curiosity, and as much as he appreciates that you were getting comfortable here in Devildom with how you laugh and joke around, he still can't approve of it. Its too loud, its much like his brothers energy and he has enough of that already, so he probably doesn't watch as much.
He has countlessly came to your room to shush you and at this point your fans had made a compilation of each time Lucifer had barged in to tell you off
Look he likes it when you scream, but not when hes in the middle of work okay--
At this point, chat has deemed Lucifer as dad and you as their mom/dad.
If he ever catches wind of this he'd definitely be teasing you in private for centuries to come.
Overall fine with it, as long as don't do something stupid on stream.
* ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ Mammon*
{How did he know about your career?}
I would say he found out by him crashing into your streams midway but that's too predictable, hence why you've Mammon-proofed your bedroom during streaming hours!
Thanks to our wizard daddy, you have managed to cast a simple lock spell on your door and as well as a sound proofing
You love your broke idiot, but you did wanna keep the tone of your stream today a bit more chill, you wanted to have a proper Q&A with your fans to hopefully clear any bad vibes around your 3 month disappearance.
When Mammon has learnt your door was locked he definitely was a bit pissy, he knocked on your door loudly even and was calling out for you to let him in, but to no avail.
Bro he's scared.
He usually was allowed to enter, and you usually answered if you did need to be left alone for a bit, so just leaving him hanging got his mind racing and he had to press up his ear on the wooden door to try and hear if you were okay
When this continues on he finally resorts to getting help, but the only one in the house ws Levi, so he kicks down HIS door.
Levi boutta summon Lotan for interrupting him honestly
But as Mammon exclaim you weren't answering and he worried for your wellbeing, Levi rolls his eyes and scoffs,
"Idiot Mammon, they're streaming don't bother them…"
Streaming? why didn't you tell him???
Rude much.
He did huff and now was forcing his way to use Levi's PC for a moment
Can Levi stop him?
Nah.
He was busy on his console, and if he stood up now hed be breaking his world record so he was at a terrible state so he just resorts to threats of him drowning the Avatar of Greed if he does anything stupid on his PC.
He immediately logs in to your streaming platform and he watches for a bit,
You were more dolled up now just to look decent on stream, and he felt this jealousy rise as you interact with your chat, especially to those saying I love you's and stuff, and you even said it back? the audacity! You were his werent you? Were you replacing him with these nobodies?
He huffs as he realized that those who paid got their message highlighted, and thus, he starts donating. (Mind you this was Levi's account...)
"Mcccccc Open the dooorrr"
"Ill behave i promiseeeee"
"Cmon pleaseeee?"
Chat is c o n f u s i o n
NGL, they thought Mammon was a creepy stalker and red flags were being waved everywhere
but as chat was pondering who the hell he was, you can only sigh and look at the camera with that unamused expression, but ugh! you just KNOW hes doing that kicked puppy expression of his, and maybe it really wont be so bad
So you snap your fingers and say, "Okay MonMon, its open, Im giving you 3 seconds"
Mammon wasnt deemed to be the fastest out of his brothers for nothing
As soon as you got to '2', you were already tackled by the white haired male and chat went wild.
Now that you've shown your life in Devildom, maybe its time to introduce chat to your boyfriend no?
{How does he feel about your streams?}
You get paid to sit infront of a camera, do I have to say anything else?
But really though, as much as he enjoys the thought of getting so much cash from something so simple, he prefers the joy of being able to proudly exclaim that he was your first man!
ohhhh he thrives on the salt of your overly attached stans
but for those who fully support you, he always feels so mushy and shy when they say the ship you guys so hard
The fanarts has him WEAK (he may or may not have saved a few)
You usually do streams alone, but now you've allowed the door to be left open to let Mammon join whenever
Chat pogs when he enters with so much confidence, only for it to crumble when you kiss his cheek on stream.
Overall finds it fun to spend time with you, but just dont play scary games cause Lucifer might hang him upside down on stream.
* ▘▂▝ Leviathan*
{How did he know about your career?}
He is honestly the most attached to his D.D.D and he catches wind of almost anything going down in the internet, so your 'revival' being hyped up was something he definitely saw and he was just s wo o o ned
His Henry 2.0? a famous streamer?
Were you truly a blessing gifted upon him or was he dreaming?
He definitely didn't bring it up at first as he didn't wanna make it a big deal, but you notice hes been more in his head lately, and you have tried asking him what it was but to no avail.
You have to corner this little snake if you want answers and he eventually admits that he knew of your persona online and was incredibly shy to ask you to stream with him
He's a streamer himself afterall but maybe he doesnt stream as much as you do nor does he have as large of a following, so his intrusive thoughts attacked him and made him think that maybe since he wasnt as famous he didnt deserve to be in the same stream as you
Please tell him to join you and gib him kiss U3U
He'll absolutely m e l t
But now, as you make the announcement to your viewers and Levi to his, the internet explodes as a special collab stream was hapening between the expert gamer and avatar of envy of Devildom along with the beloved exchange student and streamer of the human realm
Your usual viewers reach between 10-15k, but as you start stream, that number boosts higher and beyond
Before streaming though, Levi was incredibly nervous, he'd picked the games for you to play that he knew you would enjoy with him, but his mind kept racing about whatthe fans thought, he didnt wanna disappoint them
But you had to remind him that whatever they say will not matter in the end as this was merely for fun, this was YOUR stream and you guys were gonna do what you want and nobody can have a say on it. (Maybe except Lucifer)
You usually talk for him with your bubbly personality, and to calm his nerves, he hs your pinky wraped around his where the camera can't see it.
Regardless, his thoughts subsided as you two delve into your stream that lasted a solid 7 hours, you definitely promised your chat that you and Levi will be doing more streams together from now on.
Once the cameras cut and yall are left alone, Both of you collapse on bed, and despite you being asleep already, Levi was just far too giddy as everything dwells on him.
Having a player 2 by his side now had never felt so intoxicating and he as just so lucky to have you.
{How does he feel about your streams?}
He obviously adores it, although some streams he wouldnt join just so he can play games on his own
He's still an introvert afterall, he needs his alone time
But he prefers that alone time with you, his Henry.
So when youre about to go stream, he kinda becomes a bit pouty, but with a simple promise of kisses (and maybe even more if youd like) he would let you go, but his attention would disappear from his game altogether.
He might just end up watching you instead
May or may not, at some point, just chat you and ask if its too late to join you
You do allow him to join you and play from the comforts of his room as both of you can simply play via internet, you give him the comfort to not turn on his mic or webcam either and you have no idea how he appreciates that.
Will definitely fight someone online when they start claiming you as theirs (-cough- stans) Please make sure it doesnt escalate to him summoning Lotan
Although the comments would often get to him, and as much as he can fight them online, he still does find himself pondering if they were true, so you need to give him a lotta lovin and reminder that he is your player 1 and no one else can ever fill that place.
------
Wow 3 brothers this time, what an improvement, anyways hope yall enjoy! I think its pretty clear who I simp for depending o nthe length of each lol, but do let me know if you guys want a part 2 for the rest of the brothers, or even the undateables!

11x17: Red Meat Analysis (or, how can I make every episode Destiel even if Misha isn’t in them)
I have feelings about this episode, and I needed to therapeutically analyze them for REASONS, so here we go.  Script bytes included with my emphasis.
***It is important to note that, despite this being a generally MOTW/brother-focused episode, Dean is so focused on getting Cas back at this point in the season that he doesn’t even want to go on the hunt to begin with (despite just two episodes back pushing Sam to do it in Beyond the Mat):
DEAN
All right, well, we make a call and we put somebody on it.
SAM
Yeah, but... [He sighs, closes his laptop and looks at Dean]. We'll get him back.
DEAN
How?
SAM
I... I don't know. But we'll figure it out. Meantime, we got to get out of here. Clear our heads. I mean, this is a case. Let's do what we do. Let's work it.
***Since no good deed goes unpunished, Sam’s attempt to clear Dean’s head leads to him almost dying and then (TW) Dean’s grisly faux-suicide attempt in order to get to a reaper to bargain for Sam’s life (really this entire episode should have a TW before the content) (*really the entire show should have a TW before the content).
Anyways, enter Billie, our queen of foreshadowing, who says:
BILLIE
Just savoring this. Though I have to say of all the ways I thought you'd go... heart attack, some fang, choking on a burger while binge-watching “Charles in Charge”...
***So, you know, both things he goes through in the thing that must not be named, the first being Billie’s actual attempt to kill him, and the second being what kills him for good.  Dammit, Bilie.  I equally adore and detest you and your accuracy.  Are you secretly a prophet?
Dean continues to plead with her:
DEANS SPIRIT [sadness and desperation in his eyes]
I'm asking you... I'm begging you, please. Bring him back. Bring him back and take me instead.
***So as we know, the doctor revives Dean and Sam ends up being alive and everything is fine for everyone.  Well, everyone EXCEPT Michelle, one of the newlywed victims, who loses her husband (Corbin - he becomes a werewolf - Sam has to shoot him).  At the end of the episode, Dean is trying to comfort her ->
DEAN
Michelle, this is gonna be very hard. But you will be okay. And, eventually... eventually you'll get back to normal.
MICHELLE [sighing]:
No, I won't.
Michelle smiles gently at Dean, and then turns away, as tears spill.
MICHELLE
They said I could leave... [she sighs] an hour ago. But... where am I even supposed to go? After everything we survived together... [turning back to Dean] I watched the man I love die. There's no normal after that.
***Later, Dean and Sam leave the hospital, despite the prior exchange, Dean remains aloof/casually optimistic about Michelle’s state.
DEAN
So, that's it, huh? Two quarts O-neg, and you're good to go.
SAM
[sighing as he walks gingerly down the steps]: How is she? Ooh.
DEAN
She's strong. She'll be all right. Those stitches gonna hold?
ANALYSIS: I had some issues to work through on my first viewing of this scene.  It made me feel icky-weird - like, why is my baby Dean being so dismissive?  Why isn’t he taking what she said seriously?  She’s hopeless and devastated - and while Dean is pretty rough around the edges at times, he’s not callous.  He wouldn't just dismiss Michelle’s feelings, especially since she played an integral role in helping him and they really connected on some level during the episode.  Saving people is what Dean loves to do, how is leaving Michelle alone in her despair and grief saving her?
As everything tends to, this hit different on the rewatch - my assessment - Dean’s attitude in this scene does not come from his lack of sympathy for Michelle, but a lack of true understanding - because what she is feeling he cannot possibly comprehend at this point in the show.  He hasn’t yet really, and I mean REALLY watched the person he loves most in this world die in the same sense that Michelle just did.  Yes, at one point in this particular episode Sam dies, and I’m sure that people draw that parallel as “the point” in this story arc (and then go on to do more than that but we do not allow that crap here), but Sam is Dean’s brother, and it’s just not the *same* parallel.  AND that wouldn’t explain Dean’s attitude - his nonchalant, off handed comment that Michelle will be okay (I don’t think this statement reads as a “cover” of any concerns he actually has, I truly think he thinks she will be okay), so while he went through watching someone die who has been through everything with him, someone he loves deeply as his family, it’s not really the same as watching your soulmate, the person you love romantically die.  Yes - Cas is “missing” because of Lucifer but he is not dead, there is still hope (and while Dean lost Cas back in Season 7, I don’t believe he was quite *there* with his feelings for Cas then to understand what Michelle is going through).  Dean simply cannot fathom the feeling of despair Michelle is feeling at this point.
But he will.  And he will also experience what Michelle did.  I wonder if he thought back to that conversation when it happened to him.
I present to you for consideration the following two images.
11x17:
Tumblr media
13x01:
Tumblr media
***By the way, Dean’s spirit and Billie have another exchange in this season after Cas’s death in 13x05:
BILLIE
That doesn’t sound like the Dean Winchester I know and love. The man who has been dead so many times but it never seems to stick. Maybe you’re not that guy anymore, they guy who saves the world, the guy who always thinks he’ll win no matter what. You have changed. And you tell people it’s not a big deal. You tell people you’ll work through it but you know you won’t, you can’t and that scares the hell out of you. Or… am I wrong?
DEAN
What do you want me to say? Doesn’t matter. I don’t matter.
BILLIE
Don’t you?
DEAN I couldn’t save Mom. I couldn’t save Cas. I can’t even save a scared little kid. Sam keeps trying to fix it, but I just keep dragging him down. So I’m not going to beg. Okay, if it’s my time, it’s my time.
BILLIE
You really believe that. [Dean shakes his head yes] You wanna die.
***There is the despair.  Dean has changed.  There is no normal after Cas is gone.
I know, I know I am “making it all about the angel,” and forgetting that technically Dean lost Mary in the Season 12 finale and he is feeling defeated by the world and can’t get a win.  I get that.  I understand your point.  It isn’t JUST the loss of Cas that brings this level of increased pain to the same words he uttered in 11x17.  I appreciate your viewpoint.
But, I want to also present for your consideration the third image aka the final chapter in the lesson of despair (right after a certain episode with a certain name).
15x19:
Tumblr media
And that, my friends, is why I have feelings about Red Meat.

“Whatever happened to superwholock?”
is a question that I’ve seen bouncing around here for a while. It also happens to be one I can answer! I know that for some there has always been confusion over how an incredibly active and central fandom can disappear overnight and that heritageposts has been airing all the dirty laundry is making people curious again. I’m hoping to clear up any confusion and help put many of those heritageposts into some context, so let’s get started!
First and foremost hi! I’m mookittens dot tumblr dot com and I was a Superwholock. That’s right lads I was THERE during the height of it all 2013-2013. The reigning years. I saw it all go down as it happened. It was really two big things that made the kingdom collapse. The first of which was the quality of the shows.
Now as we all know, fandoms don’t start from nothing and they don’t end after peak popularity so I will be opening up the timeline we’re looking at to run from 2010 - 2015. First we’ll look at quality by show and then how they all fit together to form the Downfall.
Supernatural
Going in Superwholock order we start off with SPN. The odd man out. The one american production in a sea of union jacks. I always considered this to be the last one to join superwholock regardless of the name as it has basically nothing in common with the others besides just being on at the same time but this could just be personal bias as supernatural was the last of the three I personally watched.
Tumblr media
Now I just want to say now this isn’t even opinion, this is objective fact. The only possible bias is labeling season 6 as good instead of okay because I liked Balthazar. The timeline speaks for itself, and if like me you look at this and go “wait what even happened in season 8, 9, or 10?” I feel ya. I watched em all and had to look up the wikis so let me save you some time. season 5 Lucifer, season 6 last of the cool angels, season 7 leviathans season 8 closing gates of hell, season 9 ended with Dean becoming a demon. By season 10 supernatural was just a name whispered on the wind, but you might have heard about the fanfiction musical episode.
Supernatural really faded away during season 9 after many of the most beloved characters were long dead, and though the hype of Dean turning into a demon seemed like it could lead to a revival, ultimately when it became clear there would be no follow through at the beginning of season 10 the fandom packed up and moved on to greener pastures.
Doctor Who
Out of all three, the one with the most staying power. Even today, there are a few posts here and there about 10 floating around. There are just as many posts about Steven Moffat too. This one was the first one of the group I watched and objectively I wanna say the best. The few good seasons it had are still good.
Tumblr media
Being British television, most seasons only ran within the one year, meaning less content in general compared to supernatural. Also, the sheer drop in quality happened much more quickly and dramatically than supernatural. Everyone loved 10, and by the end of 11’s first season everyone was hype for more. Unfortunately, Moffat started to rule the scene. Slowly encroaching to become head showrunner and giving us all Clara.
Sherlock
OH BOY HERE WE GO. Sherlock. Wow. This will go beyond our scope but I feel it’s worth it since this is Sherlock in its entirety. I’m just gonna ignore the special cuz I don’t even remember it.
Tumblr media
PLEASE keep in mind these aren’t my opinions but what I remember the general fandom consensus being at the time. Sherlock was the perfect storm of having to wait YEARS for episodes to come out and then being hit by some of the worst TV I have ever seen. There was even the scene in the first episode of season 3 (which I swear was THE most anticipated episode of a television show I have ever SEEN on my like 8 or whatever years on this website) where Moffat (yep him again) and Gatiss make fun of the fandom. They have the most hated character on the show seem crazed and obsessed with making theories on how Sherlock could have lived with his fellow fanatics. Nothing like taking the fun fans of your show were having during the off season and showing them how stupid they were for even thinking about it! If you’re reading this and thinking “okay season 3 was bad but I remember season 1 and 2 being good!” then I highly recommend watching Sherlock is Garbage, and Here’s Why by hbomberguy on youtube. It made me rethink how I felt about the show entirely.
When you put these timelines all together it looks like this:
Tumblr media
Makes it pretty clear why it seemed to disappear, huh? It is worth noting, however, that besides sherlock, 2012-2013, despite being the height of superwholock popularity, was when the shows were Bad. I theorize it’s because the fandom was still riding the high of the earlier seasons and its passion pushed it forward, but it can only push for so long.
The second big contributing factor to the Downfall of superwholock is that a huge chunk of the fandom were young. I was in high school at the time, and so were most of the rest of the fandom. That’s why a lot of the heritageposts posts are so cringey or school centric. It was just kids having fun. This isn’t to say there weren’t fandom moms and the like in the superwholock fandom, there were, but chances are if you were following them for superwholock content then they’re still making superwholock content now. What happened in 2014 - 2015 is that a lot of the high school kids graduated and went to college. Now all of a sudden they don’t have time to watch TV so they have to be choosy and with how bad the shows were they weren’t making the cut, or they didn’t have cable at all and wanted to pirate better shows. It was a perfect storm that ended superwholocks reign. Now even the shows themselves are ending. Supernatural is ending its 15th and final season this year, hopefully we’ll never get a 5th season of sherlock, and Doctor Who is actually good again but with the new doctor feels like it did when it was good back in 2010. Doctor Who may never be over, but the end of a whole chapter in our history is about to close.
TL;DR Due to a significant drop in quality and a lot of superwholock kids going to college and realizing there are better shows out there superwholock basically dissolved as an internet superpower over the course of 2014-2015.

Where it’s darkest
As largely expected and basically announced, we’ve entered the “darkest” hour before the dawn, which from a viewing experience means that it’s Super Suffering Time. Which we love, as Supernatural fans. Watch Supernatural they said, it’s gonna be fun they said. You’re gonna suffer, but you’re gonna be happy about it...
Anyway. I guess it says a lot about my investment in Nick’s character that when Dabb tweeted "where it’s darkest...” I’d completely forgotten that it was literally a quote by Nick from the scene where he picked Lucifer over his wife... and many of you did too, don’t lie, because everyone rightfully went back to 11x20/11x21 (which was all over the current narrative, obviously, down to the copy of the amulet...) but I haven’t seen anyone being like, ah yes that’s what Nick said :p
I have been saying that Dabb is writing his turn at the themes that the previous showrunners explored through the Leviathan and Amara, and now not only we have the Shadow narrative and Cas’ deal, but even Lucifer in his Empty form is visually reminiscent of the Leviathan (and the red eyes over black remind me of the monsters in Purgatory). (Remember, the Gamble era tackled the same themes of depression and identity issues as the following ones, but slightly more confusedly or maybe without the “what’s subtlety” of her successors... it’s not a coincidence we’re still answering the question the Gamble era asked in s6 - what’s a soul - and playing with metaphors around the color black, shapelessness and emptiness.)
So, this is another turn of the spiral that corresponds to the Leviathan arc: which means stripping the characters of everything, stripping the characters of what makes them the most genuine, healthy and strong versions of themselves, to rebuild them again. While I don’t think we’re going to see Dean, Sam and Cas truly stripped of everything (but they’re going to lose a lot - they already have started losing things - and their bonds are going to be tested...), because that’s not the turn of the spiral we’re at at this point, but the “extreme” version of that narrative is obviously on Jack, their ultimate mirror, who has been struggling with what makes him... him, and has maybe lost that very thing.
And of course this episode had heavy callbacks to the Amara storyline, and in fact we’ve been multiple callbacks to the last few episodes of season 11. The very character Donatello has been recently reminding us of the reason of his soullessness (he was “activated” in 11x21 and Amara consumed his soul in 11x22). God is back at full-force into the narrative, although not in person yet... and the last moment of the episode is reminiscent of the last moment of season 11 (and there’s also a cliffhanger similar to Sam being shot, if you want). In fact, it’s the antithesis of it: at the end of Alpha And Omega (beginning and end... ouroboros... and the spiral goes and goes) Dean asks “Mom?” as she is brought back to life. Now Jack asks “Mary?” as...
We’re in the turn of the spiral that corresponds to the last portion of season 11. Not surprisingly, because season 11 could have been the end, was the end of the narrative crafted by Carver and that simply was added new elements to make the spiral go again instead of letting it arrive at a conclusion.
But it’s also an antithesis of the Amara narrative, because that was about the anger of the suppressed feminine principle, and it concluded with the revival of the original woman who was sacrificed to make the story (the show and the story the characters have been living) happen. Now we have the most annoying character in the history of ever, Nick, who is (irritatingly but aptly) such a strong example of the worst masculinity, who chose Lucifer over a dead wife so reminiscent of Mary when she died. We have Lucifer, who represents exactly the same brand of toxic masculinity and toxic fatherhood, in the imagery of the shapeless black, instead of Amara.
We will see how Chuck fits in this narrative. But remember - I mean, me versus your mom? That’s... that’s not even a choice. The masculine, paternal principle gets put in the past. The father goes and the mother stays. I don’t know what Mary’s fate will be specifically, but what she represents is going to stay. What John represents - from paternal neglect to a normative model of family - goes.

I did not see this 5 years ago, though apparently I did
Hi there! So, in the light of the recent Ao no Exorcist chapters and Katou having a solid grasp on her timeline after all, my brain shocked itself enough to produce some serotonin and I decided I’m gonna diverge from my own principles and post this. Brain producing serotonin should be encouraged. Buckle up, everyone bothering to read: this timeline breakdown/fan theory emerged in 2012, when a bored AnE-fan pieced together a few of the plot reveals we’re starting to see now.
Spoiler warning for The End of the Beginning! Though strictly speaking they’re a timeline framework I developed in order to write TEotB, which means they’re gonna drop very soon via the flashback! So it probably isn’t as mind-blowing as it was to me... BUT I DON’T CARE I’ve been waiting 6 years for the content we’re getting right now, 6 years I’ve been on the edge of my seat for this misfit clone dork to finally tell his story and AAAAAH
Tumblr media
This is basically a full-body search of the Kyoto arc chapters, 'cause that was the only bit of the past we had back when I started writing. To this day that’s the part of the manga I have the best grasp on. x’D But all those hours paid off, good gods they paid off! This is long. Bear with me, ‘kay? Old-time AnE-fans remember that it was commonly thought the twins were born on Blue Night, much due to the anime: Kyoto Arc said it wasn’t. If you looked carefully, you could figure out that Blue Night was in fact the time of the twins’ conception, not their birth. Though to be absolutely sure, I plotted out the timeline three times and dug up records from a weather station in Kyoto to see if there would have been snow at that time of year in the early to mid 90′s because that’s how goddamn obsessed I am. And if you did figure out that the twins were conceived on Blue Night, you were inevitably sucked into an even more obsessive downward spiral into crazy fan madness because that meant Fujimoto Shiro was sent to steal Kurikara to “kill some kids” before those kids existed even on an embryonic stage.
Tumblr media
My original estimate was that the stage had taken 24 years to set up, based on the info in Kyoto Arc, but with Mephisto’s recent director’s cut of how he ghost wrote history that number bumps up to 36 years or potentially even longer.
For reference, the timeline I put together for TEotB plus the fresh dates from the flashback arc: 1977: Mephisto pressures Shiro into promising him a free wish because extorting a kid that’s struggling for his life is an ok move 1984: Satan fails possession for the first time because whoa so many limbs at once 1989: the Myou Dha is struck by disease 1993: Satan figures out how to properly possess someone, that’s Rin’s unrelenting never-give-up attitude right there 1994: after a nine year learning curve on just staying in a body Satan has three PhD’s and ditches school after one year of education - guess possessing a body really is a difficult thing to pull off huh 1995: Shiro unwillingly becoming the caretaker of orphans: part I 1996: not yet confirmed but Saburota’s first meeting with Lucifer/Asylum is probably now Also 1996: Satan returns to Section 13 with a reclamation claim on that crap body they sold him 1996-1997 (somewhere around New Year’s, I estimate): Shiro, who was an Upper First Class exorcist at the time, cures Myou Dha and oh is that a sword in your pocket or are you just happy to return to your boss after a successful mission? 1997 (probably mid-to-late March): Blue Night sucked for everyone, but at least Shiro and Tatsuma got promotions - yay 1997: Shiro unwillingly becoming the caretaker of orphans: part II 2003: when you’re a cursed, massacred and financially broke sect like Myou Dha, there’s few options but to join the Order of the True Cross to stay afloat 2005: Saburota recruits Mamushi to spy by raising suspicions against Mephisto ‘cause really, that ain’t hard 2013: a giant pile of shit appears in Kyoto and unleashes destruction on its surroundings and for once it isn’t Mephisto
The manga and the timeline are pretty self-explanatory so what I wanna stress here is what happened 24 years ago, in 1989, ‘cause that’s something Katou hasn’t touched upon yet and it’s really fun except for those involved. In 1989, a disease starts plaguing Myou Dha and the symptoms are identical to what you get from exposure to the miasma from the Impure King’s Eyes. It seems to be a very local problem, as we don’t hear of any epidemic in the rest of Kyoto. Did the seal on the Right Eye spring a leak? Nope. Because the Eye wasn’t there.
Tumblr media
We haven’t seen the shrivelled up bit of IK cause any trouble - not saying it couldn’t, but it seemed like that one hadn’t been active much for the past 150 years and it had been constantly monitored by the High Priest. I cross-referenced with the dates given in the new flashbacks but the outbreak doesn’t coincide with any boost of demonic activity related to Satan’s progress. So? The disease in Kyoto is its own separate disaster, and it’s most likely engineered. Let’s work our way back from the present to see how Mephisto set up this stage~ Mephisto knew of Saburota’s plan to unleash IK, and was all cool with that ‘cause hey, good opportunity to test Rin’s flame, build some team spirit, power up Bon, etc. For that reason he decided to move the Right Eye from his own keep to Myou Dha’s: if Saburota had been able to steal both of them from True Cross he wouldn’t have needed the pit stop at the Kyoto Office. He would have revived IK straight away, and even Mephisto couldn’t have motivated sending a bunch of kids into that chaos. So, move the Eye to a secret strategic location in Kyoto and force Saburota into jumping through a couple of extra hoops to get it. The Eye was moved in 2003 or thereabouts: this coincides with Myou Dha joining the Order, and makes perfect sense. The relic has ties to their sect, and it’s kinda fair to give them something back since Meph indefinitely borrowed their main relic, and now that they’re part of the Order and all - yada yada, smoke screens. Mephisto gave them the relic to set Saburota up, but not until he had the means to also give Saburota a trail to follow. Our fav Uncle Goat approached Mamushi, his student, in 2005 and recruited her to get the Right Eye. He probably thought he was cleverly working around Mephisto’s attempt to prevent theft, but if we think about it: who gave Saburota the opportunity to manipulate her in the first place? It is much easier to get your hands on an impressionable young Myou Dha kid if the Myou Dha kids attend the school where Saburota teaches. But why would they? When their families are very competent exorcists on their own and they’re used to keeping to themselves and...
Tumblr media
Keeping to yourself is only an option so long as you can survive by yourself, and from 1989 on Myou Dha couldn’t. But Granpa Suguro, being as stubborn as he is, has refused any modern/outside help for 7 bloody years. This disease is weird for several reasons. Its localised spread, for one; its similarity with the Eye mashou when there is no Eye present; the way it vanishes and is never heard of again after Shiro’s visit; the suspiciously good timing. We now know Mephisto is aware of the future to a certain extent - we saw that confirmed when he set Shiro up with that promise. That was the last doubt removed from my theory about the Kyoto disease, so here we are. Satan hadn’t even manifested with a consciousness yet but Mephisto had his sights on Kurikara and Myou Dha’s cooperation in 1989. He is a man of sophistication, so he takes the “if the mountain won’t come to Muhammad, Muhammad must come to the mountain“ approach: he used the Eyes to orchestrate an outbreak that would force the sect to reach out to True Cross - the biggest, most knowledgeable exorcist organisation around - for aid. Because the alternative would be to smash in there and outright steal the sword and nobody would send their kids to your organisation after that. But it didn‘t work. Granpa Suguro refused to follow script and so the years went by, Satan gained consciousness, grew intelligent, grew bored, oops there goes the Asylum ceiling, jfc Suguro how many more have to die before you just play along like a good boy...? In the end Mephisto had to deploy Plan B: screw it, theft it is. If Muhammad won’t go to the goddamn mountain I’m gonna drop the mountain right on Muhammad’s stubborn head.
Of course this means fucking things up for Shiro, ‘cause that’s just how these things go when you’re running a tight deadline getting the Antichrist(s) a birthday present. Also it’s fun.
Tumblr media
This frame says everything, really. xD Come now, how would you expect these people to trust you, and develop a friendly attitude to the Order, if you barge in there on your black-ops mission like a humanoid battleship, grab their relic and ditch the scene? Bad PR, very bad PR. Buuut if you’re injured enough that you can’t make that immediate escape, and you just happen to know how to cure this very specific disease that never flares up again, which you can contract from only 2 items in the world, of which both are owned by the snake-tongued sass ball you are enslaved by work for...? What a fortunate coincidence, what a golden opportunity to create some debt gratitude and-
Tumblr media
Nevermind...
I headcanon that if Granpa Suguro hadn’t died on Blue Night, Mephisto would have set him on fire personally for being such a roadblock to his plans. After Blue Night Myou Dha was decimated, bankrupt, thought by the population to be cursed - what is a poor sect to do? Who could possibly help? Oh wait wasn‘t there some guy a while back, y’know, that exorcist dude who came crashing in and saved the lives of our families and friends? He seemed to know what he was doing, think we could ask him? So the take-away from this is If not for that disease, if not for Mephisto’s misinformation and Shiro’s break-in, Myou Dha would never have joined True Cross. The Right Eye would never have been kept in Kyoto, there had been no Myou Dha kids at the Academy for Saburota to recruit, and the cram school kids would never have been in Kyoto to fight the Impure King. And also that Mephisto is a fabulous bastard and a pure joy to write! ☆

DESTIEL REVIEW OF 5X22: SWAN SONG
So this episode was originally supposed to be the last episode of the series. The original writer left the series and it was picked up by someone else as far as I'm aware. Don't quote me on this. ******************************************************************************************************************************************************************** SCENE 1
DEAN is driving, SAM riding shotgun. CASTIEL is asleep in the back seat.
DEAN: Aw. Ain't he a little angel?
I don't feel he was truly feeling loving toward Castiel. I feel this was more of a joke on Dean's end, as he often jokes like this. He's joked like this with Sam and others and I don't really consider if proof of anything. He may have found it endearing on some level but I feel for the most part that Dean meant it as a joke.
********************************************************************************************************************************************************************
SCENE 2
CASTIEL: It's starting.
DEAN: Yeah, you think, genius?
CASTIEL: You don't have to be mean.
I felt this was note worthy because it's the first time Castiel has made it clear that Dean's rude remarks bother him. I feel he wants Dean to be nice to him especially considering he believes these are their last moments.
A very minor instance, but an instance none the less. Castiel doesn't like when Dean is mean to him. It shows how sensitive Castiel really is, especially where Dean is concerned.
******************************************************************************************************************************************************************** SCENE 3
CASTIEL: Hey, ass-butt!
CASTIEL and BOBBY have appeared. CASTIEL is holding a bottle from which a flame is burning – a Molotov cocktail. CASTIEL throws the bottle at MICHAEL/ADAM, who screams as he goes up in flames.
DEAN: "Ass-butt"?
CASTIEL: He'll be back – and upset – but you got your five minutes.
LUCIFER/SAM: Castiel. Did you just Molotov my brother with holy fire?
CASTIEL: Uh... no.
LUCIFER/SAM: No one dicks with Michael but me.
LUCIFER/SAM snaps his fingers. CASTIEL explodes in a rain of blood and chunks of meat.
DEAN: Sammy, can you hear me?
LUCIFER/SAM: You know... I tried to be nice... for Sammy's sake. But you... are such a pain... in my ass.
LUCIFER/SAM throws DEAN onto the windshield of the IMPALA, which shatters. BOBBY shoots LUCIFER/SAM in the back. When LUCIFER/SAM turns, BOBBY shoots him again in the front. LUCIFER/SAM makes a twisting hand motion and BOBBY's neck snaps.
DEAN: N-o-o-o-o! ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************
DESTIEL REVIEW FOR SCENE 3
Castiel is blown to bits and Dean shows some shock but not much.
Bobby's neck is then snapped and Dean reacts with horror and fear and yells "No!"
So there is a difference in the way he reacted to the two dying. He showed more concern with Bobby dying than with Castiel dying. It was very obvious during the scene.
One could say that perhaps Dean wasn't aware that Castiel was dead for good this time though his shock when Castiel returned makes me feel he did think that Castiel had died. Which is against Destiel at this point. Dean doesn't seem to have cared for Castiel as much as Bobby. This doesn't mean he didn't have love for Castiel but that he is at the bottom of the list. It's like the time in the previous episode where he says he thought Castiel had died and he was hardly shaken up about it. Perhaps by that point, Dean was aware that Castiel may or may not be one who is going to stay in their lives. I don't feel Dean had really entirely connected with Castiel.
Again, this doesn't mean he doesn't love Castiel, though at this point, I feel this means that if he did have love for Castiel, that it wasn't all that overpowering. It feels very much like Castiel's feelings for Dean were never reciprocated. Again, it feels very one-sided.
******************************************************************************************************************************************************************** SCENE 4
DEAN kneels on the ground near the IMPALA. CASTIEL appears next to him.
DEAN: Cas, you're alive?
CASTIEL: I'm better than that.
CASTIEL touches Dean on the forehead and Dean's wounds heal. DEAN stands up.
DEAN: Cas, are you God?
CASTIEL: That's a nice compliment. But no. Although, I do believe he brought me back. New and improved.
CASTIEL walks to BOBBY and touches him on the forehead, resurrecting him. DEAN looks down at the Horsemen's rings, which he holds in his hand.
********************************************************************************************************************************************************************
DESTIEL REVIEW OF SCENE 4
Castiel was brought back. And of course, the first thing he does is heal Dean and resurrect Bobby. This is to be expected from Castiel at this point.
******************************************************************************************************************************************************************** SCENE 5
DEAN and CASTIEL are in the IMPALA, DEAN driving.
DEAN: What are you gonna do now?
CASTIEL: Return to Heaven, I suppose.
DEAN: Heaven?
CASTIEL: With Michael in the Cage, I'm sure it's total anarchy up there.
DEAN: So, what, you're the new sheriff in town?
CASTIEL: I like that. Yeah. I suppose I am.
DEAN: Wow. God gives you a brand-new, shiny set of wings, and suddenly you're his bitch again.
CASTIEL: I don't know what God wants. I don't know if he'll even return. It just... seems like the right thing to do.
DEAN: Well, if you do see him, you tell him I'm coming for him next.
CASTIEL: You're angry.
DEAN: That's an understatement.
CASTIEL: He helped. Maybe even more than we realize.
DEAN: That's easy for you to say. He brought you back. But what about Sam? What about me, huh? Where's my grand prize? All I got is my brother in a hole!
CASTIEL: You got what you asked for, Dean. No paradise. No hell. Just more of the same. I mean it, Dean. What would you rather have? Peace or freedom?
When DEAN looks over, CASTIEL is gone.
DEAN: Well, you really suck at goodbyes, you know that?
********************************************************************************************************************************************************************
DESTIEL REVIEW OF SCENE 5
This scene was meant to be their last, according to the original creator. So I am taking this into consideration as I review it. We know now that it is not their last scene together, though it was intended to be so I feel that is important to consider.
DEAN: So, what, you're the new sheriff in town?
CASTIEL: I like that. Yeah. I suppose I am.
In this scene, Castiel decides to return to Heaven, to help. To work as a sort of "sheriff in town". Castiel's laughter at this is important, as he rarely laughs, and Dean has been the only one to make him laugh while on Earth. That is not counting his laughter over a burger when his vessel had an insatiable appetite or the time he fake-laughed when telling a lie. The only time he genuinely, truly laughed, felt happiness and joy, was when with Dean. The first time being in 4x7 when Dean said "It was a witch, not the Tet Offensive," and now this.
DEAN: Wow. God gives you a brand-new, shiny set of wings, and suddenly you're his bitch again.
CASTIEL: I don't know what God wants. I don't know if he'll even return. It just... seems like the right thing to do.
Castiel's faith in God has been restored. This is like a father coming to you and telling you that yes, you do matter, when you previously felt you hadn't.
Going back to Heaven means leaving Dean, though one can't say that this would be permanent. Especially if Dean were to pray to Castiel. I have no doubt that Castiel would assist Dean and perhaps would even come to check on Dean once in a while, whether he'd returned to Heaven or not.
Though Dean considered it a "good bye" and I feel it was written as a "good bye" considering it was intended to be the last episode. Castiel is not human, he functions on another level. Perhaps his good bye to Dean was healing him and reviving Bobby. He may not feel the need to actually come out and say "good bye" or to express much emotion. Because while Castiel does have some emotion, it is indeed still limited.
The most emotion we've been shown from Castiel is what he felt for Dean. Most of it was expressed through action though he did at times come out and express verbally that, "yes, I did this for you".
********************************************************************************************************************************************************************
DESTIEL REVIEW FOR EPISODE OVERALL
So where Dean is concerned, I still don't feel much. I feel that Dean considered him a friend and that he may have had some erotic fantasies at one point or another. Though repressed for the most part.
And where Castiel is concerned, the same as I've been saying in previous reviews. He loved Dean.
So with that being said, the review stays the same. If the series had indeed ended here, I would have considered the Destiel relationship to be, for the most part, one-sided.
Honestly where Dean is concerned, the Wincest pairing is more believable. They make it very clear in this show that, for Dean, Sam matters more than anyone or anything. Not only on a brotherly level but they’ve hinted at it on an erotic level as well. I say “hinted” but there are times it was literally stated. They’ve even gone so far as to have two cos-players, cos-playing as Sam and Dean, come out as lovers. This is an honest opinion. I don’t ship Wincest but it is hard to avoid even so.
And though this was intended to be the last episode of the series, it didn’t end up that way. So the Destiel pairing may be more believable in future episodes.
We shall find out.
Onto season 6.
DESTIEL REVIEW AFTER EPISODE (based on how believable): 4.5/10
