Lack Thereof

“You’re unhappy,” Jason says one night. He aims to deflect when he replies, “Never with you.” It’s horribly saccharine and that’s usually pretty effective but tonight Jason simply levels him with a look that reads—in no uncertain terms—no bullshit.

I wrote this fic wholly for myself, (wrongly) assuming no one else would read it. Its very raw, very personal, and I'm very proud of how it turned out. I think on it often and it brings me great comfort. To all the people who read it and enjoyed it: thank you, and I hope it brought you some amount of comfort as well.

What is there really to say about this one? I love how it came out. I loved riffing off of Nguyen's art with my own take on it. The colours I picked please me greatly. That green ended up glowing so well against the blues and purples.

A fun experiment in second person with a word limit and for a fandom I hadn't written anything for yet! It was definitely a challenge, but I think it came out beautifully. It feels a little... embarrassing? to have written it in second person, something that's not a very welcome or popular choice in fandom. But I think that's part of what makes it hit the way it does, so I have no regrets.

6x05 || dsquared2 || who doesn’t love some sparkle? also really does good things for his shoulders

2x02 || allsaints || i love david in white, and this mohair sweater looks comfy as hell too

5x11 || rick owens || say what you will about rick owens’ penchant for strange, asymmetric, drapey pieces, dan wears the absolute fuck out of this one

3x01 || neil barrett || another one that works SO well for the way dan’s built

5x14 || givenchy || understated but gorgeous, only wish i could actually find the damn thing to buy

Bella Swan (feat. the Wretched Green Sweater)

Have I drawn nothing in more than six months? Yup.

Did I just stare at a blank notebook today and just said ‘you know what? I’m going to draw a character from a franchise I was into more than ten years ago’? Absolutely yes.

I had to blow dust off of my pencils’ case, I’m not kidding. I’d forgotten how much of a bitch it was texturing hair colour with the colours I have on hand. Also, body proportions? I don’t know them. Absolute strangers.

I tried to stay as faithful as possible to Bella’s physical description on her Wiki page, at least as much as my capabilities for realism allow me (which is… not a lot). The purple binder and the backpack may be a shout-out to the movie, because it’s Iconique and nostalgic details are good for your heart. The Lumpy Green Sweater is the Reinassance’s memes’ fault and I have NO regrets. Twilight memes are hilarious (also, Bella looks good in green too Edward you coward).

Let’s see if I can keep the inspiration up to do more characters in the next few days.
