#art #traditional art #watercolour #oc art #ocs #oc group: dave #oc: dave #was testing out a different brand of full cotton watercolour paper that was pretty affordable #(thats why you can see my entire watercolour palette to his right LOL)#i got hotpress cause i was curious and im like so mad because its so good #i think i like hot press better for smaller drawings like this like this is under 10 inches. for something like 15 inches or bigger #cold presses texture is really nice BUT for smaller stuff hot press lets the colour shine through #while the cold press papers ive tried at a small scale they tend to dull down the colours a lot and it takes way more layers to build up #hot press does seem to have funky blooming situations sometimes if you put on too much water at once (like you can see on his arm)#but isnt that the charm of watercolour now that i think about it.... i definitely leaned into it in the bg LOL #but anyway im so excited dude this paper was a DREAM to work with #i am mad tho because now i fully see the light. i understand why everyone tells me to use professional paper. but it is still. Costly #LUCKILY the stuff i got was not tooooooo expensive but still...... It Is Costly hjrkfsjkrfsd

#art #artists on tumblr #my art #traditional art #doodle #yeah thats the phone i used to take these photos #i did these around very early june this year #every year there's a festival in the middle of my town celebrating it #its pretty much an event for local organizations and businesses to promote themselves #its kinda boring because its the same every year lol #but i go mainly because 3 4ths of the stalls give out promotional branded thingamabobs and free candyyyy (😋)#one of the local libraries gives out free books - daycares and kids centers have toys to play with #and lastly kids art schools have some crafts #which is how i got to work on the cd and badge in the photo #fun fact: the stall i did the cd at gave me a flyer printed on card stock which i used to make my arrangeable v a angel face #at the second stall i actually made the pin a total of two times because i lost the first one minutes after i walked away #and when i came back a second time the people hosting recognized me so i had to explain myself #on an unrelated note they were so impressed with my second pin that they asked to take a picture of me with it #and post it on their social media. and i agreed because yay someone likes my art ^W^#soooo there is a picture of this badge and my REAL FACE floating around on the internet #i regret it in the slightest because I have the reasonable fear of my appearance being out there out of my control #though i guess that's a lost cause because ive been in the background of friends' posts and school club social media posts #btw i wrote “(to) kill” in japanese in cutesy handwriting on the pin because i thought it would be funny #and i think it's even funnier to imagine that the social media of the kid's art school just has a post of a badge saying “KILL💖”#next to my smug ass face

ok whatever so im at arlong park in the manga and its so nice reliving the bit where (in my opinion) one piece starts getting pretty good. bt as someone who watched opla before the anime i wish they had kept a few extra beats from usopp's fight.....i liked what they ended up doing but the way usopp goes from running and hiding -> shooting that kissy face fishman the second he starts going after the townspeople -> immediately running and hiding again is so famous to me

#cause he did it in the town earlier that day his particular brand of heroism and cowardice is actually very real and funny and awesome 2 me #but the tone shift is slight cause sanji's intro arc is pretty crazy but this is when it starts getting good. like this is the turning poin #the second turning point is alabasta who wouldve thought that the guy who gets eaten by a bird in ep 2 would end up doing alabasta #thats when it starts getting CRAZY and you can no llonger ignore the anti gov stuff #one piece

1 for clothes i don't really wear fancy stuff just like, everything is either thrifted, gifted, or my dad's, all my jewerly is also my family's, i think my clothes = pretty masculine, my jewerly and fragrance choices = pretty much feminine (if we want to gender up stuff to make things simpler) since it's my mom and grandma's necklaces and women perfumes (i think the "aesthetic" that is closer to this is grunge? but i'm not sure also the concept of aesthetics is so limited, like sometimes i make some effort about my style choices some other times i just dress all black and basic and go out and thats it)

this comes close to it (skull and harley shirts are actual shirts of mine)

BUT i really want to start dressing more like this, like more preppy? basic? maybe i just want a leather jacket sorry + i want all the clothes alec mcdowell wears in dark angel everytime he's on screen i bite my hands

i also love this .. what is it like gorpecore? which is literally just romanticized trekking clothing but like i love love it

Why do right wingers go on and ON about "father's in the home" when fathers are basically useless in the home? Like every year I see posts that go around about "dad finding out about what I got for Christmas" and it's like if fathers are so uninvolved they don't even know what Christmas gifts their kids are getting I don't think them being gone does much?? Like of course there's good and bad parents of all genders, but traditional gender roles- which the aforementioned right wingers ascribe to- mean men do jack fucking squat in the house OR anything with their kids so what the hell do right wingers think men are doing that's so important in the home if it's none of the childrearing or house work??

All I've got in this framework is a paycheque and these days women work so men wouldn't even be contributing something women DON'T, so I have no idea what these people think men are doing that it's so irreplaceable that being gone is damaging to children when by all means under their ideas of gender and family men are less than useless to their family. Women do all that work (and barring that, DAUGHTERS do more parental work than fathers so them being gone does what, exactly, except maybe rid the family of an overgrown child? Men who actually contribute are the ones families would be damaged without, not traditional men who probably don't even know how to do their own laundry OR cook or have any life skills because women have done everything for them their whole lives so???)

I NEEED to go back to making art that makes it ABUNDANTLY clear that theres something wrong with my brain BUT NOT in a cool or stylishly interesting way. i need to do it in a way that makes people say "hm." and walk away

well! bye everyone i'm off to re-read my fav book trilogy of all time that i havent read since their original releases when i was a teenager and also finally get to read the prequel that i never got around to reading for the first time so. i'll see u guys on the other side and by other side i mean i'll see u guys when i re-emerge into society drenched in blood and tears rambling about all the new mental evidence i will have collected for my years-long headcanon that Katniss is autistic and sobbing about how many more details of the whole story i understand on a more profound and deep level than my teenage self was capable of processing properly

#also idk if its visible in this pic but the covers for all of these #have that awesome multi-textured thing where the text and graphic design is slightly raised and has a sort of gilded shimmery effect to it #and its so so pretty!!! these are my own brand new copies im so happy to finally have the whole series after such a long time #i wanna re-watch the movies with my moms once i finish reading everything too cus its been a while and also #i never got around to seeing either of the Mockingjay movies when they came out #(my own horrible life events got in the way of that unfortunately and also my at the time untreated adhd)#so even though i've always loved the books more cus thats just kind of. a pretty standard book-to-movie enjoyment level thing i feel like #i did like what i saw of the first two ESPECIALLY Catching Fire i really like that movie #when i first read Mockingjay it messed me up for such a long time afterwards cus this whole series hits so fucking close to home with me #from Katniss' POV especially in the books. so i have no idea what i will eventually think of the movie versions of that #since that book has never left my head as one of my favorite things i've ever read so far in my life. i love u suzanne collins #ANYWAYS IM EXCITED this will be my first time reading these as an adult!!! wooo the horrors!!! the existential dread!!!
